Ive never done a PTR so please be kind! hehe, aside with the planning aspect of it I will also be using this PTR as a weight loss tracker (I wanna loose 20lbs by our trip!) andddd to post pics of my Disney Scrapbook I’m making BEFORE the trip! (yes you read that right!) It will also include all my evil plans to get my poor unsuspecting Disney virgin boyfriend completely hooked to Disney! Hehe!

Our trip will be happening on August 22 – 31, staying at POP Century with Free Dining! We will also be spending one day at Universal Studios/Islands of Adventure and one day at Seaworld!!

WHY:
So how did this dream vacation come about you ask? Well I'll give you the quick version,
Last year i was accepted into the Disney Graduate Program and was to work in one of the Resorts from Jan-June 2009. I was sooo super excited and it was a dream come true. I met Craig very very shortly after I was accepted to the program and we decided to go ahead and give us a try anyways even tho i was ready to go to Disney for the 6 months!. Fast forward 2 months and I found out due to my mom suddenly being laid off I would no longer be able to go to the program because she was supposed to take over my car payments while I was gone. I was heartbroken but I knew I had to stay, having Craig made it a lot easier to stay, but I was still very crushed. So Craig promised me he would take me to Disney! At first we didnt think it was going to happen, we were sure if we could afford it but once free dining came out we jumped at the offer and here we are today!!!

Well I thought I’d put a face to this to start! That’s me, my name is Val and I’m a Disney addict. I am also just a tad obsessive compulsive when it comes to planning! My nickname my whole life has been princess, I cant imagine why. Hehe. I loved Disney movies as a child and completely fell in love with Disney World when my mommy finially took me as a teenager! This will be my third trip to the world, and my first trip with FREE DINING and staying onsite!!!! Woohoo!

So this is my prince charming. His name is Craig and he’s a Disney Virgin! He’s been all around the world but never to Disney world! He is very excited to go but is not convinced it will be something he’ll wanna repeat for another couple years, im hoping that will change after the trip!! He’s an absolutely amazing person and boyfriend and I love him to pieces!

The Preliminary Plans:

We booked with a Canadian travel agency that only deals with Disney vacations, so my travel agent will be planning out which day we do what on once she does our ADRs.

But a general idea of what we are gunna do includes:

Arrival Day
- maybe hit a park depending on our tiredness level and what time we arrive

- 1 Day at each of the four disney parks
- Hoop De Doo
- 2 days off - one lazy day (swimming and maybe mini golf)
and one at downtown disney
- Universal Studios/Islands of Adventure

So for our FREE DINING we've decided we are going to try and get ADRs at the following resturants:

- SciFi Cafe
- Hoop De Doo
- Tonys Town Square
- Chef Mickeys
- 1900 Park Fare
- Raglan Roads (sp?)

I'm so excited to eat alll that food!

In our planning binder, we also put what counter service resturants sound good and snack things we wanna try!

I'm obsessed with Disney and Disney planning and my BF has never been there and I'm taking him for the first time this August too! I really want him to love it too so we can go back a lot! So I def. know how you're feeling. As far as your questions about your days off you could go to Downtown Disney and I think mini golf is worth it. My family and I went one time and I had so much fun. I want to do it again but just haven't had the chance. Sorry that wasn't much help. Hey since we have such similar situations come on over to my PTR!

DisneyQuest!!! lol I always love it there but it is pricey if you don't have the Water Park and More upgrade.

Also, go visit some of the other resorts, like the Deluxes, or go to the Boardwalk

I :love: Sci-fi and Chef Mickey's! The only character meal I could talk DBF into was the supercalifragilistic breakfast at 1900PF so he can meet the Mad Hatter and we're skipping Sci-fi since I have been there a lot and wanted to try some new things. Oh and I love Hoop Dee Doo and how they slam buckets of food onto your table :rotfl: but I haven't been in ages. Great memories there tho!

Yay for our club!!! Oh I'm doing a basket by betsy too, she's great from what I heard and experienced with her. DisneyQuest is a good one to do on a down day. We're doing that on our trip too! The boardwalk is really pretty at night just to see. I love Sci-Fi as well, the atmosphere is the best!

I know exactly how it feels, its took me three years almost to convince my DBF to even say yes to a trip i now have to wait 2 years for the trip :scared1::sad1:, he's just like Katys DBF he thinks Disneys just for kids and is basically only agreed to go for my sake cause he knows just how much i love it and want to go back. He as also said it will probably be the only time we go there together for at least another few years, though im hoping he's opinion will change when he sees how amazing it is, sadly the trip won't be next year as its he's turn to decide where we go on holiday and he won't pick Disney thats for sure :rolleyes:

You could always do a bit of shopping on your non disney day, i loved the shopping in Orlando :)

I can't remember where there are hammocks but I know I've seen them... Caribbean Beach? I know Fort Wilderness has a beach and you can see Wishes from there. I wanted to do that on our arrival night but I sacrificed that from EMHs at AK so we could have some more time there.

Okay so the boardwalk is located right next to Epcot, it's actually a resort (Disneys Boardwalk Inn), and is themed after a boardwalk in Atlantic City. there are a few clubs, a dueling piano club, the espn bar- it's walking distance to Epcot and DHS, it's located on a lagoon across from the Swan and Dolphin and the Yacht and Beach Club. Search it on all ears, you will love it!

The Horse and Carriage rides are like 15 bucks i think. very cheap.

And I'm making my own basket for baskets by betsy- so far two refillable mugs, a safari journal and a mug from AKL. I might send down a few things to put in it- she lets you do this. I'm going to pick up some cheap things from the dollar store or something. We will see :dance3:

So we looked up hoop de doo and spirit of aloha on youtube and we were pretty disappointed with hoop de doo (not so into that kinda theme!)so we're going with spirit of aloha instead! The food looks scumpicious! anyone ever been?!

I loved the mall of mellinia though some of it was high end shops so it depends on your budget, everything seemed great prices to me cause its all cheaper than in the UK plus we got a great exchange rate :)
The premium outlets are meant to be pretty good too with great bargins to be had :)

I like coral reef, I haven't been there in a while but I like the atmosphere, it's cool. So We made some changes to our itinerary since we added that extra day!
I'm prettty excited about it! I'm gunna start my planning binder this weekend!

Sat Aug 22 - Arrival day
Flight leaves around 7ish and we get to Orlando around 11ish
Nothings going on this night except we're checkin in and maybe check out the resort.

Sun Aug 23 - Sea World
We're gunna start off our vacay at Sea World! I'm excited as I've never been before and i LOVEEE dolphins!! We'll probably grab some CS POP breakfast this morning! We're plannning on using Mears Travel unless someone has another suggestion?!

We’ll grab lunch or a snack there OOP and then use a CS for a late dinner when we get back.

Mon Aug 24 - Epcot
We're spending the day at Epcot, and we have a lunch ADR at Chef De France. Sooo excited to see Remi!
We’ll do a CS for dinner.

Tues Aug 25 - Free Day/Shopping/Spirit of Aloha
We're gunna spend the day relaxing, swimming and gunna hit up Mall of Mellenia or the outlet stores, Which do you suggest?!

We’ll be using a CS for lunch.

After that we'll be getting ready and heading off to Spirit of Aloha for our date night! We're very excited for the all you can drink beer! hehe :lovestruc

After SOA we will be heading over to the boardwalk to walk around and check out the piano bar and street preformers!

Wed Aug 26 - Free Day/Recovery/Downtown Disney
Depending on what time we wake up we may or may not play some minigolf at WinterSummerLand or just swim all day!

We have ADRs at Raglan Roads for 8:30pm and we'll be checking out downtown Disney today as well! hoping to grab a CS late lunch at one of the resort CS as we're hoping to check a few of the nicer ones out! and I also am dying to try a Doh Bar from Cookes of Dublin. Oh and we also are making sure to pop by TRex for some drinks and check the place out!

We also wanna make sure we do the make your own potatoe head thingy! Where is that located?!

Thurs Aug 27 - Hollywood Studios
Fantasmic is this night so we have ADRs for dinner at the SciFi for early evening.

We’ll probably grab CS when we’re hungry for lunch.

Must see is Sorceror Mickey and Buzz! I also wanna try and do the animation class as well!

Any star wars type things you can suggest would be great as Craig lovesss Star Wars!

Fri Aug 28 - Animal Kingdom
We decided to just do Animal Kingdom in one day. We made an ADR for Yak and Yeti which I’m suppperrr excited to eat at cause it looks sooo yummy! So we’ll be having lunch there! We’re hoping to get everything done by parade time so that we can get home and get ready for our special princess dinner tonight!

We have a 7:50 reservation for 1900 Park Fare which I’m also super excited about!!!

Sat Aug 29 – Universal/Islands of Adventure
We’ll start with CS breakfast at Pop then be taking Mears to get to the park. We plan on getting the two day/one park option. We’ll start off with Universal and do Simpsons, Mummy, Twister and the other bigger rides then spend the majority of the day at IOA, Spidy and Jurrassic Park! This day is def gunna be a poncho and hat day cuz Universal has soo many wet rides and my hair is gunna end up a frizzy mess!

We’ll grab lunch or a snack there OOP and then use a CS for a late dinner at Earl of Sandwhich when we get back.


Sun Aug 30 – Magic Kingdom
By far the day I’m most excited about. We will grab a CS for lunch and we have ADR at Tonys Town Square for 7pm. Theres also EMH from 9-12pm! WOO! What a great way to end the vacation!

Monday Aug 31 – Departure day
Our plane leaves at 6pm so to end the vacation off with a little bit of magic, we changed our ADR at Chef Mickey’s to this day at 11:20am! We haven’t figured out what we’re gunna do this day! Any suggestions?! We will have to be back at Pop by 3pm for ME.


Whew!! That took a while! But I’m glad I got it all written down!

sooo went to my 3rd Weight Watchers weigh in today and I lost 1lb!! wooo! slowly but surely I'm getting there! so far in 3 weeks I have lost 7lbs! I have 13 left to goooo!!

I also went to the gym today and am hoping this week to loose 2lbs more!!! :banana::banana::banana:

I'm not sure if I mentioned this at the beginning of my PTR but i've already lost a total of 30lbs!! and have kept it off for 2 years!! now i'm trying for the last 20!!! wooo!

Not So Perfect Afterall... A Lesson on Doing Things Yourself


So as you all may or may not know, I have booked this vacation threw a travel agent, and let me tell you it has not made things any easier, between chasing her down, having to redo many of our ressies, and now this fiasco from yesterday I'm starting to wish I just did it myself to begin with!!

I was SO excited about my wonderful ADRs I had for the trip and yesterday I log onto the Disney Dining Ressie thing and type in my ADRs only to find my nice sit down dinner at Tonys on our last night GONE!! :scared1::scared1:

So I call DIsney to see why this is and they tell me that someone (aka my travel agent as we found out) canceled this time and then rebooked me at 1pm instead of the original 7pm that she SENT US with the Confirmation number!! I dont care that much that the reservation was changed to 1pm for whatever reason, I just do not understand why she would sent us the wrong ressie information and confirmation number and time. I understand we all make mistakes but this is something that could easily have been avoided by sending the RIGHT information!

Now I'm happy that I caught this before we went but if we had gone down there and lost our ADR on our last night I would have been very upset. I feel that I should not have to be double checking and calling people and following up on things when I booked spacifically with an agent to avoid this!!!

We now have changed to Crystal Palace for 3ish, as we wanted something for dinner not lunch, which is OK but I'm more disappointed in the fact that we hired a TA, spacifally one that works at a Disney Only Planning Travel Agency (not the same people who own this site, a completely different one) to help us ensure things like this would not happen!! Its such a stupid mistake and I would have let it go except these little mistakes and over sights keep popping up.

Craig is also concerned as our money is due soon so he wrote an email to the owner of the agency today complaining and explaining as of right now we are not comfortable with our vacation plans and we would like someone to double check all our hotel and ticket stuff to make sure there are no mistakes on that either.

I'm not one to complain, and I felt bad that Craig sent the email because she has been nice to us and she was friendly. Not So Perfect Afterall... A Lesson on Doing Things Yourself


So as you all may or may not know, I have booked this vacation threw a travel agent, and let me tell you it has not made things any easier, between chasing her down, having to redo many of our ressies, and now this fiasco from yesterday I'm starting to wish I just did it myself to begin with!!

I was SO excited about my wonderful ADRs I had for the trip and yesterday I log onto the Disney Dining Ressie thing and type in my ADRs only to find my nice sit down dinner at Tonys on our last night GONE!! :scared1::scared1:

So I call DIsney to see why this is and they tell me that someone (aka my travel agent as we found out) canceled this time and then rebooked me at 1pm instead of the original 7pm that she SENT US with the Confirmation number!! I dont care that much that the reservation was changed to 1pm for whatever reason, I just do not understand why she would sent us the wrong ressie information and confirmation number and time. I understand we all make mistakes but this is something that could easily have been avoided by sending the RIGHT information!

Now I'm happy that I caught this before we went but if we had gone down there and lost our ADR on our last night I would have been very upset. I feel that I should not have to be double checking and calling people and following up on things when I booked spacifically with an agent to avoid this!!!

We now have changed to Crystal Palace for 3ish, as we wanted something for dinner not lunch, which is OK but I'm more disappointed in the fact that we hired a TA, spacifally one that works at a Disney Only Planning Travel Agency (not the same people who own this site, a completely different one) to help us ensure things like this would not happen!! Its such a stupid mistake and I would have let it go except these little mistakes and over sights keep popping up.

Craig is also concerned as our money is due soon so he wrote an email to the owner of the agency today complaining and explaining as of right now we are not comfortable with our vacation plans and we would like someone to double check all our hotel and ticket stuff to make sure there are no mistakes on that either.

I'm not one to complain, and I felt bad that Craig sent the email because she has been nice to us and she was friendly. I think sending that email was a good thing, this is your vacation that you're spending a lot of money on and you want it to be great so yeah they should get everything right, especially since they specialize in disney vacations. Oh no im sorry to hear the problems you've had with your TA, when you get a profressional to do it for you you don't really expect to have mistakes and need to look over everything yourself and makes checks. I mean whats the point in that? you may aswell have done it all yourself from the beginning right?

So We made some changes to our itinerary since we added that extra day!
I'm prettty excited about it! I'm gunna start my planning binder this weekend!
I have added some questions within the itinerary so any comments or suggestions would be greatly appreciated as always!

We also Booked our flights and got a GREAT price!!! $330 for both of us! return flights!! woooo!!

Sat Aug 22 - Arrival day
Flight leaves around 7ish and we get to Orlando around 11ish
Nothings going on this night except we're checkin in and maybe check out the resort.

Sun Aug 23 - Sea World
We're gunna start off our vacay at Sea World! I'm excited as I've never been before and i LOVEEE dolphins!! We'll probably grab some CS POP breakfast this morning! We're plannning on using Mears Travel unless someone has another suggestion?!

We’ll grab lunch or a snack there OOP and then use a CS for a late dinner when we get back.

Mon Aug 24 - Epcot
We're spending the day at Epcot, and we have a lunch ADR at Chef De France. Sooo excited to see Remi!
We’ll do a CS for dinner.

Tues Aug 25 - Free Day/Shopping/Spirit of Aloha
We're gunna spend the day relaxing, swimming and gunna hit up Mall of Mellenia or the outlet stores, Which do you suggest?!

We’ll be using a CS for lunch.

After that we'll be getting ready and heading off to Spirit of Aloha for our date night! We're very excited for the all you can drink beer! hehe :lovestruc

After SOA we will be heading over to the boardwalk to walk around and check out the piano bar and street preformers!

Wed Aug 26 - Free Day/Recovery/Downtown Disney
Depending on what time we wake up we may or may not play some minigolf at WinterSummerLand or just swim all day!

We have ADRs at Raglan Roads for 8:30pm and we'll be checking out downtown Disney today as well! hoping to grab a CS late lunch at one of the resort CS as we're hoping to check a few of the nicer ones out! and I also am dying to try a Doh Bar from Cookes of Dublin. Oh and we also are making sure to pop by TRex for some drinks and check the place out!

We also wanna make sure we do the make your own potatoe head thingy! Where is that located?!

Thurs Aug 27 - Hollywood Studios
Fantasmic is this night so we have ADRs for dinner at the SciFi for early evening.

We’ll probably grab CS when we’re hungry for lunch.

Must see is Sorceror Mickey and Buzz! I also wanna try and do the animation class as well!

Any star wars type things you can suggest would be great as Craig lovesss Star Wars!

Fri Aug 28 - Animal Kingdom
We decided to just do Animal Kingdom in one day. We made an ADR for Yak and Yeti which I’m suppperrr excited to eat at cause it looks sooo yummy! So we’ll be having lunch there! We’re hoping to get everything done by parade time so that we can get home and get ready for our special princess dinner tonight!

We have a 7:50 reservation for 1900 Park Fare which I’m also super excited about!!!

Sat Aug 29 – Universal/Islands of Adventure
We’ll start with CS breakfast at Pop then be taking Mears to get to the park. We plan on getting the two day/one park option. We’ll start off with Universal and do Simpsons, Mummy, Twister and the other bigger rides then spend the majority of the day at IOA, Spidy and Jurrassic Park! This day is def gunna be a poncho and hat day cuz Universal has soo many wet rides and my hair is gunna end up a frizzy mess!

We’ll grab lunch or a snack there OOP and then use a CS for a late dinner at Earl of Sandwhich when we get back.


Sun Aug 30 – Magic Kingdom
By far the day I’m most excited about. We will grab a CS for lunch and we have ADR at Tonys Town Square for 7pm. Theres also EMH from 9-12pm! WOO! What a great way to end the vacation!

Monday Aug 31 – Departure day
Our plane leaves at 6pm so to end the vacation off with a little bit of magic, we changed our ADR at Chef Mickey’s to this day at 11:20am! We haven’t figured out what we’re gunna do this day! Any suggestions?! We will have to be back at Pop by 3pm for ME.

hi! I am getting ready to do a pre-trip report myself (my first) and thought I would check some others out. Started reading yours and went the whole way through!! You seem like a lot of fun! I am subscribbing! can't wait to see your actual trip report soon too! I saw this section of the report and didn't see where you got many answers to the questions you had. I thought I could do that for you quick just in case!
1. I would think about taking a cab to Sea World instead of Mears (unless you already did it and it's non-refundable). We did Mears when we went to SW and the guy from Mears told us himself that it was WAY cheaper just to take the cabs. It should only cost like $10 or so to take the cab.
2. Spirit of Aloha is great!! The food is really good, the show is fun and the included drinks are always a plus!! One suggestion: if you want to get your money's worth out of the included drinks, keep up with your waitress!! When we ate there, my DH and I only got two drinks each in the whole meal, because she wasn't around very much!! The food is brought out and there is so much, you don't really need to get refills so much. Then they bring out a big dessert and that was all that we really saw her! So, since you have allowed a day for recovery (lol) take advantage!!
3. The potato heads are great!! My DS has I think all from the parks as well as ones you can get in the stores!! Buy the head itself somewhere else. We got ours at Wal-mart. The head itself takes up so much room. Without that in the box, you can fit that many more parts!! We just keep getting boxes of parts every time we go now to add to his collection! There are also some sets there of Star Wars Potato Heads. I think there are a storm trooper, vader, luke and leia?? DS has all of those also...along with a transformer one, spiderman, indiana jones......
4. At the Star Tours ride in HS, you can get your photo done as one of the characters. It is in the gift shop on the way out. They basically put your face on the actor's body. It may be fun for DBF. Plus, there are lots of Star Wars thingys in the shop when exiting. There is also the Jedi training show and the photo op on the speeder bike outside of the ride.

TA Situation Update

So, Craig emailed the owner of the Travel Agency and explained our worries and frusterations and asked her if someone else could double check our plans to be sure that everything else was okay. It was a polite email, I read it. The lady called him back, apparently according to her she was disheartened about our email and said that it was not fair of us to accuse our TA because she made the correct reservations and DISNEY itself is bad for keeping ressies and thier online system is faulty and that other costumers of thiers have complained of the same thing.

Now this makes no sense to me because all of my other reservations were fine and the guy i spoke to on disney that helped me figure everything else gave me the user name that was used to cancel and rebook my ressie, and also gave the dates AND times, which were 10 mins apart from each other.

Maybe she did not fully understand what the problem was, i'm not sure, because Craig spoke with her not me. Also our TA was not in the office yesterday so I guess she was not around to explain either.

I dont feel any better about the situation, and I'm hoping and praying everything goes smoothly from here on out and I wont find any more problems like this.

I was going to call myself and explain more in depthly but I feel like I dont even want to deal with it anymore because its making me upset so I am going to leave it as is, keep checking my ressies online and just let Craig deal with them for the final payment arrangements and such.

I just hate this whole situation because Im not one to complain and our TA has been nice, I'm just more concerned that we will get down there and something will not be booked correctly.

I have been double checking all my dining ressies and so far everything else is okay. I am going to continue to keep an eye on it. The only thing I cant check is my actual ticket and hotel Ressies because it belongs to them under Florida Law :sad2:

Im not too worried about that tho because the price we are paying is the same we would pay online for the same package.

Sooo..... To ease our fears about the ressie situation I went and pretty much re did our ressies! :cool1: Now I just gotta cancel out the other ones but I'm gunna wait till after we pay and get all our documents and everything.

We pretty much changed everything around, and are now able to get to Epcot and MK for EMH and also still see Fantasmic and we were able to get Spirit of Aloha at 8pm!! Even tho my TA said that there were no 8pm showings during my stay! :headache: Oooo and I got the perfect ADR for our last night at MK!!! :cloud9::lovestruc:wizard:

Its been great in keeping me busy while Craig is at work and also keepin me excited for the trip!

Weight Watchers Weigh In Week 5

Went for my ww weigh in today and I'm down another 1.2lbs making it a total of 8lbs lost!! im aiming to loose 2lbs for next week!

so i have 12lbs left to loose from here on out!
and then i may or may not add another 5lbs on top of that depending how i feel hehe :)

MJ Dead . My Thoughts + Last Day of School!

Well I just had to post my thoughts about MJ passing, but didnt wanna go on the CB and post cuz the posts are getting ugly.

I was very shocked when i heard the news of course, I caught it right as it was breaking before it was confirmed so I thought it was a joke. I was just changing a CD and happened to hear it on the radio. So I immediatly went on my BB and looked it up and it was confirmed a bit later. Its shocking and sad. I think its a day that you'll always remember what your doing and it is truely a loss of an icon.

I liked MJ, I've always been a fan of his music, and no one can deny his talent and musical genius. He was a cultral pop icon and influenced many mainstream artists. I, personally never really believed the alligations against him. To me he seemed like a very unique, misunderstood, isolated man with a kind heart. He seemed like the type that would do anything for anyone and though of course no one can deny his strange behaviors, I think that its a testament to the power and level of fame that he had. He reached a level of stardom in which there is no way he could leave his house without being literally mobbed. Even more so then most celebs and I think that led to isolation and his strangeness.

I also think his death proved one more thing, the power of the internet. Within seconds it was everywhere and everyone knew. To me that is just insane.

So thats my thoughts, may he finally find peace in heaven, which im sure looks alot like neverland to him. RIP MJ.

In other news the last day of school is today!! :banana::banana::banana:
For those who dont know I work in a before and after school program. Im kinda sad today cuz I wont be returning to the same school next year more then likely because of a promotion, so im really really gunna miss these kiddos, they are a great bunch! The loads of Mickey Mouse bags full of presents today definitly made me tear up! Im probably gunna be really sad this afternoon but its off to Craigs house till next Wednesday so that makes me happy! :)

So then after next week Summer camp starts for a month, then I have a month offf in august :banana::banana::banana: then Disney! then back to work in my new position!!! :lovestruc

I second the cab ride to Sea World.... have done it many times in the past and the cost is reasonable..... think of it this way.... if you are the planning type and by reading your post YOU ARE!:lmao: then you like to pack as many things in... right? So the cab is instant walk out of your hotel and into the cab... 15 mins later you are at Seaworld's "front door".... then when you are tired HOT and just want to escape back to WDW then poof! theres the cab and 15 mins later your back.

Did you ever think of doing a water park? If your BDF is a thrill ride freak... then an easy day over at BB and a quick ride ;) down Summit Plummit will fit the bill!!! Trust me!!

I was SO excited about my wonderful ADRs I had for the trip and yesterday I log onto the Disney Dining Ressie thing and type in my ADRs only to find my nice sit down dinner at Tonys on our last night GONE!! :scared1::scared1:

The online ADR system is well-known to be crap - did you call your TA to double-check first before you panicked?

So I call DIsney to see why this is and they tell me that someone (aka my travel agent as we found out) canceled this time and then rebooked me at 1pm instead of the original 7pm that she SENT US with the Confirmation number!! I dont care that much that the reservation was changed to 1pm for whatever reason, I just do not understand why she would sent us the wrong ressie information and confirmation number and time. I understand we all make mistakes but this is something that could easily have been avoided by sending the RIGHT information!

Disney CMs are so inconsistent in terms of their knowledge of ADRs, amongst other aspect of WDW, hey?

We now have changed to Crystal Palace for 3ish, as we wanted something for dinner not lunch, which is OK but I'm more disappointed in the fact that we hired a TA, spacifally one that works at a Disney Only Planning Travel Agency (not the same people who own this site, a completely different one) to help us ensure things like this would not happen!! Its such a stupid mistake and I would have let it go except these little mistakes and over sights keep popping up.

I'm sorry you weren't happy with your TA :sad2: We absolutely LOVE our TA and everyone we know who's used them have been more than satisfied with their service. You should use our TA next time :goodvibes

I'm not one to complain, and I felt bad that Craig sent the email because she has been nice to us and she was friendly. But I think the point is this whole process has been made stressful by going to this company, we've had to continously follow up on questions because they are not answered within a few days, we missed a seat sale because we were waiting like a week for a response about an extra day, our adrs the first time around were basicly not what we wanted, having to make changes ourselves and even make an ADR for the last day that i asked her twice to make, but she said that she thought I wanted to keep that last day open till we got there?! Which makes no sense considering I gave her my resturant choices when we added the last day. Now I feel as though I have to recheck everything and am worried. I have kept quiet about it till now because I know they have many clients and mistakes are made, but I feel now that these are just careless errors that could be avoided by double checking things. We are both very worried that there will be more stuff like this when we get down there :sad2:[/COLOR]

The ONLY reason I was going to keep them until we got out documents is because of all the stuff that happened with our TA, I just wanted to make sure I had the new set 100% before I went out and canceled all of them.

I also have not told my TA about the new ressies because of the problems so I thought if I canceled it and she saw it would cause more problems with them so I figured if I canceled them after we got our documents it would save me from possible drama.

Well in answer to ur questions, when I saw Tonys was not there I called Disney (not my TA) and they helped me find out that my original Tonys ADR was made at 7pm (like the info she sent me) and it was made by my TA and then the same person (my TA) canceled the 7pm ressie and then rebooked it for 1pm. But she sent us the 7pm ressie still :confused: Im sure it was just a mistake maybe she rebooked me for a different time for whatever reason but she shoulda sent the right info.

And it was more disappointing when DBF complained and they blamed it on Disney when it was thier mistake!

I dont think ill ever book with a TA again after this to be honest lol I think i woulda just been better offdoing it myself!

I believe it because the ressies were made online, and the 7pm ressie that was made was made by my TA (because they are able to acess the username that made the adr) and then canceled 5 mins later and rebooked for 1pm.

I dont think she did it like maliciously or to ruin my trip or anything I think she originally booked at 7pm and then rebooked it to an earlier time for whatever reason (im not sure) but then still sent me the later time in the itinerary. I really believe it was just a mistake but we kept noticing these little mistakes here and there and it was getting us worried.

Hi, we were at DL last fall and found out that you can fill a mr potato head box full of accesories for mr potato head and not have the head in there. you can pick up a head cheap at home and get all the stuff at DW that you can't get anywhere else. it is awesome!

So Sorry Ive been MIA lately!
I finished work last week and have had this week off before I start my summer camp program!
So ive been living at Craigs! Im back home now and miss him already :(
Cant wait till November when we get our apartment and I dont have to be so far away from him! (We live an hour away from each other - bleh :( )

So Im super jealous that my whole fam is going to Italy and Greece tomorrow for a month!! I had to stay back to work!

Weight Watchers Weigh In Week 5

Went for my ww weigh in today and I'm down another 1.2lbs making it a total of 8lbs lost!! im aiming to loose 2lbs for next week!

so i have 12lbs left to loose from here on out!
and then i may or may not add another 5lbs on top of that depending how i feel hehe :)

Aww how horrible for you living an hour away from Craig, i'd hate to be far from my boyfriend (bit difficult as we live together haha but before that we were lucky and only lived about a 5 min drive apart)

Tues Aug 25 - Free Day/Shopping/Spirit of Aloha
We're gunna spend the day relaxing, swimming and gunna hit up Mall of Mellenia or the outlet stores, Which do you suggest?!

We’ll be using a CS for lunch.

After that we'll be getting ready and heading off to Spirit of Aloha for our date night! We're very excited for the all you can drink beer! hehe :lovestruc

After SOA we will be heading over to the boardwalk to walk around and check out the piano bar and street preformers!


Just subbing on your PTR - we were just down in Orlando again in April and everytime we are down there we do some shopping. We rent a car for several reasons but some being the opportunity to see other things Orlando has to offer, the kids LOVE Univerisal and IOA and we were at Seaworld twice on our last visit. But we were also able to go to many of the malls. We were at the Millenia Mall but were disappointed - very high end stores which were neat to look in but waaaay out of our price range. We really like the Florida Mall and had alot of shopping luck there and our favorite outlet mall was Prime Outlets on International Drive. http://www.primeoutlets.com/locations/orlando/store-directory.aspx Happy shopping!

It's so exciting that your trip is so close, and keep sticking with weight watchers. I think i'm hitting a plateau with my weight loss, i've been sticking really closely to ww and working out and have just maintained at a little over 20 lbs for a month now. I might switch to a different diet plan just for the time being to jumpstart it again. However, I do love weight watchers and i think its the best way to loose weight because it teaches you how to eat for life!!! So excited for you that your trip is so close :)

What a Day!!


Hello all! sorry that i havent been around, ive been working at summer camp all week! its good so far but man its tiring!

So today Im very sad because Ive been watching the memorial to MJ and it just has been making me bawl :( especially after seeing Paris speak. may he rest in peace finially, and may his children find confort in seeing how much thier father touched the lives of the world.

Other then that, I was weighed in and down one more lb!! so 9lbs total!! :banana:

Payments + Photopasses

So as you might have read our trip is OFFICIALLY paid for! :cool1::cool1:
I got the invoice yesterday!! I'm so excited! only one month and 14 days left to go!!!

The canadian exchange rate was actually less then I thought it would be so thats awesome!

So we also decided we're going to PreOrder the photopass cd also! i think we would most likely end up buying it after we came back, as the photos are always really cute! So thatll save us 50 bucks by preordering!

Question for you all..

Is there anywhere I can find a list of the special poses they will do with you for the photopass? (ie the tink one or the lion king one)
Id like to try and do alot! :)

One Last Change to make the Plans Perfect!!

So we decided on one last change to make our plans perfect!
Since we were able to get that 8pm SOA show we decided to do AK that day instead of Day 1 and on Day one just take it easy, get up for a nice late late breakfast at 1900 Park Fare and then head over to MK for the first day! :lovestruc

I really want Craig to see MK on the first day because i think thats true Disney right there! I dont want him to have to wait till the end!

Its also a nice relaxing way to kick off the vacation! And besides we dont really need two days off in a row and I'd rather be able to spend an extra day in the parks then go shopping!

I personally dont go to the meetings, as I dont find them to be helpful to me, but I do go to my weekly weigh in and that really helps me stay on track!

I dont actually attend the meetings, I just go for a weekly weigh in, I went to a couple, but didnt find them very helpful :confused3 most of the issues the women faced I didnt really have a problem with and I just needed that weigh in accountability!

But I do love the program, its easy to follow and I find as long as I keep track of what I eat Im good and I loose about a pound a week! I definitly agree and its not out of reach, its completely doable by any woman (or man)

Its been a while! nothing much to update... just working away! 10 days till I'm off for a month!!! yay :)
Yesterday we went to a concert for four years strong, it was pretty awesome! here's some pics of us goofin around before the show in graffiti alley downtown toronto.

I have this weird thing for jumping pics! haha we couldnt get one of the both of us but thats what we were trying to do. we are definitly gunna get the photopass photogs to get a jumping pic of us in front of the castle! hehe

So like I said, today we went to see UP and I would recommend everyone to go see it, its one of those make you cry then completely lift you up
movie. It was very very sweet and we both really liked it! The 3Dness of it was awesome too! And Craig has already planned to go see the Toy Story 3 in 3D when it comes out in.... 2010!!! (He loves Buzz!) But then again he also really thinks GForce looks really cool... so Im beginning to wonder about him.... hmm....

So I'm gunna try in 3 days, once my one month countdown begins to do a planning guide page a day that I collected and am taking with me to Disney! Hopefully it will be of some help to people and will get me excited! :D

I cried like a baby in UP!!!! My husband was laughing at me! I was actually a little surprised Disney would do that...even though our little one never picked up on what was going on. It's sad that some people can't have kids and then the little old man loses his soul mate!! So sad!! But, all in all it was a good movie, just a bit sad at times! Anyway, you have got to be getting soooooo excited fro your trip it is so close you can almost taste it!!

I was surprised Disney would cover such deep issues too, but then again they have covered death in a lot of disney movies (ie - bambi/lion king) and I thought it was done very tastefully, where adults would understand but young children wouldn't. It was very sad tho bc one kid said very loudly, that's like what happened to grandpa and grandma. :( so I guess some do understand.

As for my trip I am soooooo excited! Its hard to believe its THAT close!

I made one for dbf also..don't feel bad! One huge thing that helped me alot is an over the door shoe hanger to organize stuff in...since we will be there for 9 days I want to unpack and not feel like everything is lost! just an idea!! Also, don't forget your phone charger if you have a cell phone!

Sounds like you have great plans already and are going to have a fantastic time! Vacations are so exciting aren't they?

Are you planning on going to Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure? I'm pretty sure you can hop to both parks with your ticket - so if you make good time you might be able to see the studios and then go over to islands. There is also express passes you can buy to bypass the regular lines. Just a thought.

Suggestions maybe for your packing list:

Extra memory card! I'm not sure of the size of your current card, but it might be worth it to get an extra. Memory is cheap, and you don't want to miss taking a picture because you are low on memory.

I think we're gunna download some disney podcasts and some comedy for craigs ipod and keep occupied with that! I may pick up a guide book or something for the plane! I def dont think ill be able to contain my exciement at all... we should all feel sorry for poor poor craig! :rotfl:

I will definitly be doing a PTR asap when we are back and maybe a dining review too! it'll help with the post vacation blues.

Do you have an idea of what ADRs you want?! I remember when my trip was still like 140 days away!! it seemed to far but it passes quickly!

I live in canada.. so we dont have target!!! :( I may check out walmart tho because that would be very useful!! especially when we move into our apartment later this year!

So I just got off the phone with Craig and apparently hes been doing some "Special" research for our trip and he found something super special that will make me cry?! he said im getting a big surprise this trip... being our one year anniversary trip and all... im really wondering what he has up his sleeve!!

Speaking of one year anniversarys our "official" one year is next friday! (aug 31) i got him two awesome awesome gifts but I cant post what it is just yet in case he sneaks on and reads it!!

Other then that, I had a somewhat stressful day today because I had some problems with my car so I had to drop it off and I wont get it back till tomorrow! so i had to get a rental car, since my family is all in italy right now so its such a pain because I have to leave work 2 hours early now and they were giving me a hard time about it! hopefully it will all work out and i'll get to leave! ughhh! at least only one week left of work then im freeeeee for a month!!!


I realized i forgot 3 imporant things on my list!!!

1) Autograph Book
2) Thick black sharpie
3) Zip Lock Bags for camera and books on water rides!

We went to Walmart today and bought... PONCHOS!! wooo! we bought 5 ponchos, which hopefully will be enough! Craig is taking two and I got three. and I can always steal Craigs if need be... just dont tell him that!! :rolleyes1

I also finially found some extensions that match my hair color so Im gunna pick up those next week, so if my hair is magically longer in my TR pics, thats why! And we're both booked for haircuts with our hair dresser (yes we share one haha) next weekend and I booked my hair coloring appointment for the 17th!!

helllo my fabulous PTR readers! so sorry I havent posted my planning tips the past 2 days, ive been SOOOOOOO busy with work and my family coming home! and also all my planning stuff is on Craigs mac and hes being lazy converting the word files and sending them over for me! which apparently he will be doing tomorrow! he better! or else!! :snooty:

so i have no planning tips for you! but ill give u some quick updates! first of all 2 days left of work! woo! so exciting!

secondly my aunt bought me a almost real (aka a very good knockoff) prada purse from italy and a super cute black shirt! the purse is just to die for! honestly i love it!

thirdly i found the cutest super heros tshirt at walmart for like 12 bucks! its perfect for universal! i think that and my pinoccio tshirt are the only character tshirts im gunna be bringing!

fourthly the camp went and watched Gforce today cuz the weather was so awful and we couldnt get the to zoo and quite frankly that was the worst movie of ALL TIME! but on the upside I saw a preview from the frog princess and I got all excited! it actually looks pretty good and I like that they are using old school animation!

fifthly, making 40 photo cds that hold 400 photos for each camp kid seems like a great idea but holy smokes does it take long!

sixthly, i did not loose any weight in my weigh in on monday so i gotta get my booty movin!!! i wanna loose at least 5 more lbs (so i can gain em right back!) before we leave!

seventhly, im exhausted and need sleep! so goodnight!!

o and 23 DAYS!! woooo!

Ooo you must post a pic of your purse!! Yeah Gforce looks like it's definitely dumb!! I saw a preview for the frog princess when I saw Harry Potter!! I definitely think it's going to be one we go see. It does look like old school animation!! Yeah that happens to me too with projects with the kids, "yeah making tye dye tshirts with them will be fun!! (an hour later and my hands are completely dyed and there's a huge mess!! Good thing we did it outside!) You can loose that last 5 lbs, no problem!!

Unfortunatly, its pretty expensive (at least here in canada it is - can't get anything under 20 bucks!) but I find it to be worth it because its very good quality, doesnt bother my skin and most importantly REALLY stays on well!

HELLO my lovelies!! I'm so so sorry Ive been MIA (if anyone was missing me :rolleyes1) but I am back and I'm on my month long vacation so expect to be sick of me!!

So work is done and I'm feelin great especially with my very nice paycheques hehe! I went shopping friday night to celebrate! I think I'm now set for clothing the only thing left to buy are runners and comfy flip flops (which I think Ive found a pair of super soft Roxy ones) and a couple of toiletry items! Oh and i Found 18inch extensions (real human hair) for 30 bucks!!! Which makes me happy because I was gunna buy the same ones for 110!!

Other then that the only exciting news is that it was Craiggy and my anniversary yesterday! :lovestruc:lovestruc:lovestruc I love that boy so much and it was nice to celebrate our loveydoveyness! We've officially put up with each other for a year! haha Although we have been dating longer then that!

I got him.... a super nice handheld HD video camera from Kodak which is AWESOME and he said he cant wait to make a disney vacation montage! haha Hes always wanted a video camera... being the dorky journalism grad that he is! Maybe this is the start of his famousness!?

I also made him a scrapbook of our first year together and he LOVED it! I worked for sooo long and so hard on this thing but it was definitly worth it!

As for me, he got me the planet blue box set which included Planet Earth and Blue Planet and I LOVE it!

Im getting the other part of my present in Disney as part of my big surprise! So im even more anxious to get there now!

And I cant believe its only 19 DAYS!!! WOOO finailly into the teens!!

To make up for my lack of posting of my tips, I am going to post (in my next post) Tips Ive compiled for ALL the theme parks! So Enjoy and hopefully this will be useful!!

Epcot

try Beverly at Cool Club in Epcot and get pic!

Something that we did for the first time on our trip in June was to put your image in your own video game at Innoventions. We had a blast doing the movements and then playing the game. You can then e-mail your video game to yourself and play it when you get back home.

take a picture at Epcot with the geo dome in the background as if you are holding it in your hand.

Drink around the world

There's a talking water fountain in Epcot. I belive it's between Innovations & Honey I Shrunk the Audienc

The Grey Goose slush (or Grand Marnier) in France- sitting on a bench with one watching the world go by!

When you get to the Outback area lift the lids on the old time soda coolers. Get ready for a surprise. (The Outback section may be closed for refurbishing)

Visit Belle's Library at France

British Invasion Beatles Tribute in England

America – view the 911 flag

Japan – visit toy museum

Animal Kingdom

There is a talking trashcan at Animal Kingdom, out at Conservation Station. We were in line getting ice cream and he got in line behind us.

I saw Devine on my 8th trip to the World. She "hangs out" on the path from Asia to Africa

And this isn't something you'll see but if you're entering the Animal Kingdom and there's a long line at the turnstiles try going through the Rainforest Cafe. There's a park entrance at the rear of the gift shop.

Try and visit one of the walking trails

Hollywood Studios

In front of the Chinese Theatre you can see signatures and handprints of a lot of celebrities that visited MGM. There are even signatures of some of the characters! Then turn and go to your left. There is a little garden on the right side of the building with busts of famous people. [I] just saw this on our next to last visit. It was very interesting walking around reading about the stars.

At the Honey, I Shrunk the Kids play area, climb the stairs between the garden hose and the slide coming out of a roll of film. There is a dog's nose. Put your hand in the nostrils. The dog sniffs you!

check out the "Singing in the Rain" umbrella that is attached to one of the streetlights near the old Hunchback theater. Grab the umbrella and step on the black square embedded in the cement underneath it for a nice surprise!

pull the rope at the Well at Indiana Jones stunt show

If you go into the art gift shop by the Little Mermaid show, you can go into an area where you get to draw a Disney character with an artist. Each time is a different character and you get to keep your drawing. It runs about 20 minutes and I believe starts on the 1/2 hour

Magic Kingdom

In the Main St. train station lower level, up on one of the shelves (Cast members (CM's) can halp you locate it) you can see Aladdin's lamp as well as other characters' belongings waiting to be picked up. Some park guest lost and found items are there too, is the artificial leg with the name Smith on it (a Mary Poppins joke) one of these?

Town Square Exposition Hall in MK. It's just to the right when you come into the park. Go into the very back of the store. It's like an old movie theatre. They have large cut-outs from old movies that you can take pictures with.

Has anyone else heard Stitch call for Lilo in the women's bathroom?? I was alone in the ladies room (very late, almost 1am for EMH) between Adventureland and Liberty Square one evening and I heard Stitch's voice! He was saying, 'Lilo?Lilo? Are you in here? Lilo? ANd then laughing.

Collect Pressed Pennies

If you sit on the stone ledge on the side of Cinderella's castle, you will hear Stitch giggle and tell you to be quiet because he's hiding

Try having a late evening meal or snack outside on the second story balcony of Pinocchio's Village Haus as the lights are coming on at night in Fantasyland. All the trees and rides are lit up and it is a wonderful spot to sit and relax!

7 Dwarfs known to hang out at Town Square Exposition Hall

If you look closely in Tinker Bell's Fairy Treasures (now Castle Couture) you will notice Tinker Bell flying around the store. try asking if you can "call" Tinkerbell.

Push the talking trash can", he hangs out near Buzz Lightyear at the Magic Kingdom.
While in line for Jungle Cruise, there's a cage with a fake spider in it on top of a barrel. If you put your hand infront of it the cage will move.

When you are waiting in line at the HM - right before heading into the mansion - look to the left for Madame Leota's headstone. She will open her eyes for a second. It is really creepy and usually by the time someone sees it and points it out to others her eyes are closed again.

At MK, make sure to visit the "spitting camels" in front of Aladins Magic Carpet.

Right by the entrance, on Main St., there is a Goofy statue sitting on a bench. When you sit by him he talks.

To get the most wet on Splash mountain sit at the front, to get the least wet sit at the back left side

It's just amazing, all the details they put in Haunted Mansion. How many people have not looked up in the stretch room (when it goes dark) and seen the man hanging from the ceiling with the noose around his neck?

Sea World


Arrive around 30 minutes early for the shows, most offer pre-show entertainment.

If you don't want to get wet, stay out of the splash zones which are at the front of the stadiums. If you sit there you are likely to get very wet!

Be aware of the sun when you choose a seat in the stadiums, seats towards teh back are usually in the shade.

You will get wet on Journey to Atlantis, take a poncho, or a set of dry clothes.

You can feed the dolphins at Dolphin Cove, fish is sold at various times during the day. Its best to go in the morning! You can also feed the stingrays and seals.

Buy the souvenir cup, which can be refilled with soda or tea for $0.99, and can be filled with water for free.

Visit the Anheuser Busch Hospitality Tent for a free beer sample.
Many of the seats at the stadium shows - Key West Dolphins, Clyde and
Seamore - are not in the shade. Make sure you take a hat and wear plenty of sunscreen.

Escape the heat by heading for an indoor attraction such as the Penguin Encounter and Cirque de la Mer.

I got him.... a super nice handheld HD video camera from Kodak which is AWESOME and he said he cant wait to make a disney vacation montage! haha Hes always wanted a video camera... being the dorky journalism grad that he is! Maybe this is the start of his famousness!?

I also made him a scrapbook of our first year together and he LOVED it! I worked for sooo long and so hard on this thing but it was definitly worth it!

As for me, he got me the planet blue box set which included Planet Earth and Blue Planet and I LOVE it!

Im getting the other part of my present in Disney as part of my big surprise! So im even more anxious to get there now!

And I cant believe its only 19 DAYS!!! WOOO finailly into the teens!!

To make up for my lack of posting of my tips, I am going to post (in my next post) Tips Ive compiled for ALL the theme parks! So Enjoy and hopefully this will be useful!!

Hello all! Im back to posting everyday! yay! Today Craig, his twin brother and I all went to walmart so I could get everything I needed for Disney! Got this awesome travel pack for 5 bucks with like everything I need! Exciting!

I also picked up a Disney book for the plane called MouseJunkies! It comes highly recommended here on the DisBoards so hope its a good one!

The only thing left for me to pick up now are some new flip flops (gunna get a nice comfy pair and a cheap old navy pair!) Im really concerned about my feet in the park but I also dont wana wear anything horrendous lookin! :rolleyes1 I am bringing my broken in runners in case my feet get haggered but I live in flip flops in the summer so I think thats what its gunna be!


Onto my planning tips of the day! I think you guys will enjoy this one! (and again I did not make these up! i got them off a planning website)


Trip Planning Tips #13 - TOP 10 FREE THINGS AT DISNEY! (who knew!) :wizard:

1. Resort Tip -Campfire Sing-Along with Chip & Dale and Outdoor Movie at the Disney Fort Wilderness Campground. When: Every Night.

2. Resort Tip -Barnyard Animal Viewing area at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Campground. When: Daily – closes mid-afternoon.

3. The Animal Kingdom Lodge has a Savannah with giraffes and other animals you can view when dining at or visiting the resort.

4. Resort Tip - The Electric Water Pageant is a floating parade offered nightly on the Seven Seas Lagoon by the Magic Kingdom resort area.
