So they are listening - I hope. I only wish the special viewing area for Illuminations, for example, was open to D23 Members ALL THE TIME. I won't be there during the specified time. But hey - they are taking a step in the right direction!

The website doesn't say about #9 - But I'm assuming the answer is yes to that - the podcast team was just saying the other day that the museum is going to open in SF. . .

I think these are great perks and a big improvement over what they launched with. They SHOULD have launched with this info, but I suspect that they were under the impression that we would just roll over and love it (like some). I'm willing to bet that the tepid reaction to D23 led them to go back to the drawing board and rethink their approach. If they keep doing things like this, they will win me over. I want nothing more than to love D23 and be able to recommend it with an honest voice - I'm not there yet, but this brings it a little closer.

Meh... The Chicago Mary Poppins Behind the Scenes experience is something you can buy regularly... and tre pricing is not all that different fromt he D23 pricing. NOW if the BTS experience was free (and you had to buy tickets to the show) THAT to me is a perk.

Anyone know D23 numbers? How many memberships? Hey for $40 or less a year, I would join... its too much though.

I agree, I live about 5 hours away from the closest of any of these places so this doesn't do much for me. I am kind of a collector and wanted to join b/c I wanted the first issue. Then I found out that you could buy it at the local bookstore and felt cheated. Had I known from the start i certainly wouldn't have wasted my money.

I don't think that those of us that signed up originally just "rolled over and took it"...I assumed they it was only a couple days old and as the months go on they would announce more...I wasn't about to judge its lack of features the first couple days of its existence and I trusted that Disney would do right...and I'm glad that they are showing that they are.

Not much use for families :confused3 D23 member and only one guest.
No D23 family membership. Think they still have a long way to go on this But agree much improved than when it was launched :thumbsup2

After seeing these I just joined D23. I had been holding off but a chance to do the behind the scenes studio/archive tour AND the whole Disney People movie (with Imagineers chatting POST flick) is too good to pass up. Hope once they release tix for these events it doesn't sell out so fast as to make my membership worthless. But hey, if this kind of stuff keeps up, hard to complain.

Now if my membership would also allow for theme park discounts, that would rock!

Here's another tidbit of info from the D23 site. Small tidbit. I really wish there was more information on this one! Like, where is it going and when? I like the fact that they are doing more (even if most of it is DL, not WDW related) but I really wish they would supply more details.

Disney's A Christmas Carol Train Tour begins in Los Angeles' Union Station over Memorial Day Weekend, from May 22 through May 25. Featuring four custom designed vintage rail cars full of behind-the-scenes attractions, entertaining demonstrations and fun activities, the train will then make 40 stops in 36 states over the next 24 weeks, chugging its way over more than 16,000 miles of track. The tour will finish at New York's Grand Central Terminal over the weekend of October 30 through November 1.

OK, I'm easy. One local event is all is took to get me to join D23.

But I'm still hoping for a PIXAR event in Emeryville!! Now that would really get me excited!

Nothing is close to my location, unfortunately, and I'm not traveling at those times either. Now, maybe Disney could think of something special to do in conjunction to that train that's traveling for the "Christmas Story". I know the train events are free, but maybe a special give-away for showing your D23 card? I don't know. I would be a great way for them to reach their members all over the country. Just a thought. I'm glad to see that D23 is getting a little better though. And I have to agree with Pete, they should have rolled things like this out to begin with.
