Yes, that helped! In fact, last night I made a purchase. I got these on sale at Scheel's for $20! :thumbsup2
http://i.ebayimg.com/13/%21BUJyh%21g%21Wk%7E$%28KGrHgoH-DEEjlLl1RtcBKMDqGe7%28g%7E%7E_1.JPG

LOVE that pattern and color!!!!!! :thumbsup2 I hope both pairs work out for you!

What about schoolbread from Norway? Have you had that? I think that's a good snack, albeit very big and very sweet.

I hope everyone one finds the perfect shoes to fit their needs. Comfort in walking is a vital part in making a trip pleasant. I'm trying to decide whether or not to get new tennis shoes or just go with what I have, but time is running out.

Is it my imagination, or have we not seen a picture of Henry in the last few days? Even if he's not in Disney World, we still need to keep up with our boy!

Schoolbread...yep, I've tried it. It was very good, but....not my favorite. I really like the Sweet Pretzel they offer instead with the raisins and almonds.

Remember I'm the weird girl that isn't huge on chocolate, cheese, or REALLY sweet things. I'll eat 'em, but not my number ones. I'll just leave more for 'normal' people. ;)

I was thinking the same thing MeMom! I miss seeing Henry too!!!:goodvibes

You guys are so sweet, I'll post some Henry pictures today after I download the camera. :goodvibes

Thought I'd comment on the snacks.

DONE:
* Dole Whip- I don't like pineapple. Sorry, so I won't eat one, ever. Well I think. Only idiots don't change theirs minds, right?
* Mickey Ice Cream Bar -Yummy! Thinking about it, it's been a while.
* Mickey Rice Krispy Bar-It's ok. Not enough marshmallows in my opinion. Kinda dry.
* Itzakadoozy!-I can get these kind of pops here, so I'd rather keep room for something else hehe
* Main Street Bakery Ice Cream Sandwich - Never had any. On my to eat list.
* Goofy's Pretzel Rods- On my to eat list.
* Cappuccino Float -Where can we get those?? I've had the frozen lattes with whipped cream at the bakery though. HEAVEN! I must get at least 1 each trip. :cloud9:
* Sweet Pretzel -Sweet pretzel?
* Frozen Lemonade
-My stomach doesn't really love lemonade. Though it doesn't bother it that much if I have a frozen raspberries lemonade at DHS.
WANT TO TRY AT SOME POINT:
* Gealto- Gealto? I've tried the Gelato in Italy. It tasted like ice cream. I've had real gelato before and it's nothing compared to it (wdw is not real one):)
* Churro - Dunno. They don't call to me.
* Goofy's Gingerbread Man-:lovestruc The best I ever had!
* Hot Preztel (Germany)- Never ate anything in Germany.
* A soda float (root beer or Diet Coke)- Nothing special. So I'd rather eat something else.
* Hot Fudge Sundae- At Ghirardellis they are :goodvibes
* Vanilla Shake- I'd rather eat the cookies and cream shake at Sci-fi or a chocolate shake at Ghirardelli's
* Fruit Smoothie- Dunno if they are real smoothies, or sirop?
* Crepe (France)- Yuck! I'd had better. They tasted like they poured Nestley quick on it. (At the counter/cart outside the pavilion)
* Kaki Gori (Japan)- :confused:
* Popcorn (everyone raves about WDW popcorn, I've never had it!)- It's alright. It's Orville. But it seems to taste better at WDW
* Lemonade Slushi- Where? Though dunno if my stomach would enjoy it.
* Strawberry Shortcake (Sunshine Seasons)- Never had it. Maybe
* Worms and Dirt (Sunshine Seasons)- Never had it. Chocolate cake and candy worms??

But keep in mind it's my personal opinion! hehe

Hope it can help in some way.

Cappuccino Floats are available in a couple places, but the one we got was the Sleepy Hollow snack stand in the MK. They were pretty good!

The Sweet Pretzel is the one from the Norway stand. Veryyyy nummy.

I've had real Gelato too...I'm bummed to hear it's not the same in WDW! CSR serves it, so if it's an option for dessert while eating a meal there, I'll probably still try it. Even if it's like ice cream, it'll probably still taste alright!

That is bummer to hear about the Crepe! I'm not a big chocolate person, so I probably wouldn't get it with the chocolate sauce - and now I for sure wouldn't hearing it's just like syrup on it. Ick.

Yep, Worms & Dirt is pudding and gummy worms. I like.

Lemonade Slushi...can't remember exactly where this is. I want to say somewhere in DHS. They might offer another flavor.

Many of the smoothies in WDW are made with real fruit, not syrup. I would get a real fruit one-the syrup ones would be too sweet for me.

I'm not saying the crepes or the gelatos are bad. They are good. It's just that I'Ve had better hehe

I had the crepe and didn't really care for it. It was premade so she only really warmed it up and the filling wasn't that good either. I wouldn't get it again.

The Kaki Gori is right before you get to Japan. It is kind of set back inbetween the two countries. HTH! :)

I hope you like them CP! Perfect for something exciting without a ticker!...I'm onto you... ;) :goodvibes

Ahhhh, good to hear! Chances are I won't make it to the crepe this trip, but for the future. They have a crepe stand in the Mall of America here and I've always meant to get one there because I hear they are good, but never have.

Two "eh" reviews...hmmm...ya, I don't think it'll make this trip...!

Thanks for the whereabouts on Kaki Gori. I think I know where you are talking about-last time I thought that was the stand, but the line was sooooo long, so I skipped it. Not what flavor is the question on that!

As you might have figured out by now, I'm a sucker for a bargain. Therefore, I naturally enjoy a good browse through the Dollar Store.

A while back I purchased a bunch of glow bracelets for camping from the Dollar Store and Henry enjoyed them so much (in fact he insisted on sleeping with one on the way home!) that Joe encouraged me to get back to the Dollar Store to purchase more before they sold out. He wanted them for our Disney trip and just to have on hand for kicks. :thumbsup2

So I did just that!

http://brookelizabeth.smugmug.com/photos/586498539_FyAPn-L-1.jpg

Glow-Sticks-A-Rama! These are actually a different type than what we had, but I'm sure they will be just fine. Also included is a car, and in the upper right is a bucket hat that actually fits my child's HUGE head!

I have looked and looked for a bucket hat for that child, but everything is too small. All his hats are a Youth Boys. Finally, at the Dollar Store! :yay:

Look how cute he is in it! (and here is a Henry fix for those of you who asked :goodvibes)

And my other Dollar Store Goodies...

http://brookelizabeth.smugmug.com/photos/586498569_yUQeu-L.jpg

They had a TON of random Disney stuff. I got stickers, kazoos, silly putty, a coloring book, a few figurines, and a "Wall Tumbler" (not exactly sure how that works...but Henry will just love that it's "Mahee!")

The plan is to wrap each one in paper and bring them all in the carry-on for the plane ride. Henry will be entertained first by attempting to unwrap the gift, and then by the item itself. :thumbsup2

Yesterday I wore them to work with a skirt and got SO many compliments on them. "Cute shoes Brook!" Everyone was shocked when I told them they were Crocs. :thumbsup2

He's such a cutie patootie! And that color hat is just perfect for him!

My boys used to love playing with those little figurines when we were waiting (I had gotten some and carried them and crayons for years!). They could play in the sand, use them as tokens for their own made-up board games on the backs of placemats, and just battle them.

Adventure Golf, where the biggest "adventure" is pushing your stroller up a hill....

I figured it was about time to do an update on the Wisconsin Dells trip!

We left off leaving the Kalahari and quickly checked into our next hotel, the Black Hawk Motel. It was a basic motel, but very clean and the price was more than right. :thumbsup2 We unloaded our gear and ventured out.

We headed for Pirates Cove Adventure Golf. pirate: I had been to a Pirates Cove Adventure Golf in Minnesota and always raved about how much fun it was. The course was very creative and unique.

This one...not so much. It was pretty basic and less than challenging.

But, we still had a great time!

Despite this sign:
http://brookelizabeth.smugmug.com/photos/547189931_2uMps-L-2.jpg

We still didn't keep score. Though, we did debate it for a while. ;)

They gave Henry a ball and a plastic club, which he was pretty excited about.

http://brookelizabeth.smugmug.com/photos/547189956_LNT5B-L-2.jpg
Let's golf!

http://brookelizabeth.smugmug.com/photos/547190488_qrr3A-L-2.jpg

After a while Henry started to get a bit..uh...shall we say rambunctious with the golf club and Mommy promptly took it away which cued a melt down.

He was tired. No nap. Busy weekend.
Poor little man.

Normally, I am NOT the type to then appease my child when he's throwing a fit, but we were on vacation and in the middle of golfing, so Joe whipped out a sucker...

http://brookelizabeth.smugmug.com/photos/547190661_Js3vt-L-2.jpg

Happy (and sticky)!

There were little caterpillars to be found throughout the course (and really, all over the Dells). The kids were enchanted with them!

http://brookelizabeth.smugmug.com/photos/547190746_nLbqy-L-2.jpg
It's like a flower, right? ;)

After Henry watched for a while longer, and enjoyed his sucker, he calmed down and he "golfed" the last hole so he could watch his ball go down into the trap.

As we were leaving we noticed the stocks...

I just noticed the "punishment" sign. Good thing we all took our turn in there...

Pretty flowers...

After golfing we decided to find some dinner. I had read a few reviews of a place called "Monks" online and we had seen where it was on the way to the Black Hawk earlier in the day. So, that is where we went! It was a burger and fries joint. It was sooooo busy and we were all crammed in at a small table, but it was DELICIOUS! You could easily tell it was a "locals" joint. :thumbsup2

After dinner we walked a small bit, just wandering through the shops, and then went back to the motel. The kids played for a while and us parents unpacked and got things ready for the next day. After the kids went to bed-they were all asleep in SECONDS flat-the boys went to the hot tub and myself and Mrs. Friend relaxed outside on the chairs in front of our motel room, chatted and just enjoyed the lovely evening.

Up next: Seeing another side of the Dells

Thanks! There is just something about little kids and bucket hats, isn't there?

He's such a cutie patootie! And that color hat is just perfect for him!

My boys used to love playing with those little figurines when we were waiting (I had gotten some and carried them and crayons for years!). They could play in the sand, use them as tokens for their own made-up board games on the backs of placemats, and just battle them.

Thank you! I was pretty happy that they had a blue one-all the others were very girly colored.

You are giving me great ideas on what to do with those figurines! I like the idea of a made-up board game. I can see me drawing a box and showing Henry how to "hop" the character in and out... thank you! :thumbsup2

Super Score on all the goodies from the Dollar Tree!!!! Love the hat on Henry he is such a cutie!!! Awwww....love the pictures!!!!!!

Thanks! It was a Disney junk gold mine in there!

Oh my goodness! Henry is so adorable. He looks so grownup compared to the last pictures!

Great score on all of the Dollar Store purchases! :thumbsup2

We just watched a video of him from before he could walk and it is SHOCKING to see how much he changes. :sad1: I'm sure he'll even look older on our trip. I just posted an update to the Wisconsin Dells trip from May. The Cars shirt he is wearing barelyyyyy fits him anymore! He's getting so big!

Let's just say, I'd rather eat the yummy food at "boulangerie-patisserie" in epcot then eat the crepe.

Which one is that? I cannot every remember their names. I'm with ya though, there are SO many good things in Epcot, why settle for something you just think is "eh"?

Great stuff, Henry is adorable. I have to see if our Dollar Store has that stuff.

There was TONS of options at our Dollar Tree. Frisbee, floaties, jump ropes, books, hair glitter, yo yos, just tons! If you are in need and your store doesn't have any-let me know and I can make a run for ya and mail them! :goodvibes

ETA: I love the quote from Austin that you have in your siggy.

Thanks for the new Henry pics - he's a cutie as usual and that bucket hat is very stylin'! And nice finds... Dollar Tree, by chance? I've got the figurines sitting on my shelf in my office. Love 'em!

I believe those little caterpillars you found are army worms. Have you ever been through army worms of plague proportions before, where the aspen trees are picked clean of leaves and trees look like their moving from all of them crawling all over? Gross. Gross. Gross. We should be due for another infestation of epic proportion soon... oh joy.

Mini golfing looked like quite the adventure...our friends wanted to go over the 4th weekend but with Cole, I wasn't so sure. Now I'm glad we didn't go....and with the 'big boys' I was pretty sure that club would become some kind of weapon half way through.....;)

I've only had it once and I got Cherry. It was very good, but I tend to pick cherry for most things.

Great Dollar Store purchases. I like to call myself frugal, but others call me cheap, so that is my kind of place. I always find random Disney stuff in there that makes great car ride/plane ride/airport time waster toys.

My DD also has a large head and the only place I could find hats that fit her was the Carter's Stores or Outlets.

Great stuff from the dollar store!! I love the idea of wrapping the stuff up to give to Henry on plane!

Henry's bucket hat is too cute! Ryan's head is HUGE too! They actually made me take him for a cat scan because his head has always measured a little bit above the 100th percentile. Poor kiddo! Of course there's nothing wrong with him, just got a big head!

Your lastest pictures from the dells are too cute! I love that Henry got his own ball and club even he got a little rambunctious!!

Great Disney loot from the dollar store!! YAHOO!! :cool1: I went about 6 weeks ago and got a bunch of goodies so I might need to go back - twist my arm! :lmao: I love your idea of wrapping the goodies up and then giving them to Henry! I plan on doing a surprise bag for my DS this year and want to do it as a "theme". For example, the day we go to MNSSHP and do his Pirates League I have a bunch of Pirates goodies. The day we go to Hollywood Studios I have a bunch of Toy Story and CARS goodies. You get the idea! I have to figure out how to get it together and then get it to WDW in my suitcase. He's 5.5 so he's quick and not much gets by on him! :)

I'm convinced our kids don't have big heads!! I've always had a hard time finding a good hat for DS and his head is "normal". I just got a hat from Children's Place for him for next year and it was like $3.74. I'll have to check out the dollar store too! Love the pictures of Henry - he looks adorable!! Great pictures of the Dells too!

Enjoy your weekend!

:thumbsup2I need to check out our dollar store for some Disney goodies. I am always looking for cheep toys to amuse my DD while we are out...If she looses them..no biggie!

My DD has a big head too. She has always been in the 98th to 100th percentile for head circumference. Even in utero her head was big....I went in for an ultrasound 4 days after my due date to make sure that everything was still ok in there and the nurse exclaimed "Oh that is a big head". I was like "OK lady not the best thing to tell the woman that is going to have to push it out!" It ended up ok because I ended up having a c-section and when they took her out the Dr exclaimed about her big head too!

Yep! The Dollar Tree! Love that store!

That is awful about the army worms! ICK! :scared: They really were everywhere-as you will see in a later update. Not quite "the trees are moving" all over, but it was probably all just starting. Ew ew ew.

The kids loved 'em though. :rotfl2:

Cute golfing pics! We went to a Pirates Cove mini golf course in Branson, MO once and it was pretty cool, sorry you got just an average one - still sounds like a fun afternoon though!

It was a good afternoon despite the basic course. And even though it was an "easy" course, it still took me 10 putts on some of the holes!

Henry is really growing and was adorable golfing.

Thank you! He is growing soooo much. The past few months he's been stringing words together and he learns new things every single day.

love the dollar tree purchases!! DId you get the mickey crayons?? I too have bought a bunch of things at the dollar tree for the boys and have to make myself stop going in there cause I am going to have way too much stuff!!

I did not see the Mickey crayons! I must go back!! That would go perfect with his Pooh & Friends coloring book. :woohoo:

I had to restrain myself as well - there were just so many fun things. I was very tempted by the Mickey bubbles, but knew we would never use them on the trip and they were high on the Mess Potential scale.

Henry is such a cutie in his hat. Brooklynn was also one of those big headed children. Bella on the other hand has a peanut head so the hats were too small for Brooklynn and are too big for Bella. I am headed to Dollar Tree on my lunch break tomorrow to see what fun things I can find. I will definitely be investing in some glow jewelry for my little diva!

I look forward to hearing about your Dollar Tree finds if you are able to share them on your PTR! I wonder how much Disney charges for their glow items? More than a buck I'm sure! :goodvibes I can already foresee pictures of Brooklynn glowin' away.

WOW, great finds at the Dollar Store, Brook!!!:thumbsup2 Got to love that place, they have so many great Disney things!!!!:cloud9:

Love the bucket hat on Henry (yay, I got my fix of that little cutie patotie!!!!:cool1:), too cute!!!! And btw, we have the same jammies he has on in that pic!!

Mini golfing looked like quite the adventure...our friends wanted to go over the 4th weekend but with Cole, I wasn't so sure. Now I'm glad we didn't go....and with the 'big boys' I was pretty sure that club would become some kind of weapon half way through.....;)

Great update!!!!:goodvibes

Mini golfing was interesting at times. Henry started to throw the club and whip it around during his fit...ugh. Thankfully he didn't hit any of the other kids (they are old enough to know to get away!). And most of the course was pretty easy to push the stroller along except one area where there was a huge hill up and no path-then stairs on the way down. They told us it was the "wheelchair accessible" course too... :confused3 Henry has been mini golfing a couple times, but at this age it's harder than when they were teeny and just sat there being cute!

I really like those jammies! My MIL got them at a garage sale for us. They are the perfect weight for summer! He's wearing the shirt again tonight.

Henry is a cutie pie eating that sucker! :cutie:

I'm so with ya on the Dollar Store. Then you don't have to stress if a toy is broke, forgotten, not liked, dropped, left behind, etc.

I'll have to check out Carter's for hats! Henry's head has been "off the charts" since his 3 month check-up. It finally started slowing down in growing around 12 months.

It will be like two adventures in one! Wrapping paper and then the toy - plus the toy is packaged, so there is that whole ordeal of taking it out of the package. I am thinking we could get a good 10 or 15 minutes of entertainment out of 1 single buck! :thumbsup2

They almost had me take Henry in for a CAT scan too! He's been off the charts since 3 months old (still is). However, in case you haven't noticed :rolleyes1 big heads kinda run in the family. It's a joke on my DH's side. "Oh, he's got the <Last name> Head!" His little cousin does too. Big headed boys! :lovestruc

Fabulous idea! :thumbsup2 Doesn't he look precious in that hat?! Cutie!

Kathy

Thanks Kathy! As I noted just above, I'm hoping to squeak 10-15 minutes of entertainment from each toy...we'll see how it goes! Maybe he'll just crash on the plane since he has his own seat...

Looks like you found some great stuff at the Dollar Tree!

I'm also really enjoying your TR on the Dells. Even though we live in WI we haven't been there in years so it's neat seeing all the stuff there.

Thanks!! The Dollar Tree is so much fun to browse around in - I almost always get my gift bags and wrapping stuff from there too-it's such a good deal for stuff that is thrown away!

I have quite a bit more on the Dells-I might try to get an update done tomorrow during Henry's nap.

Henry is just too cute in the hat!

The Pirate Cove looked like fun to me. The kids were having a blast.

I found these cute little stickers at the Dollar Tree the other day. I love that store!

http://i288.photobucket.com/albums/ll186/lazydoxy66/Vacation/WDW%20Prep%2009/packing003.jpg

Thank you! :goodvibes
I saw those stickers there too! I didn't get them because they are all loose, and to my little man, that equals MESS and lost stickers everywhere = tears. They were so cute though...Hmmm...now I'm thinking I should buy a bag for our countdown calendar.

Yes, I do think a Dollar Tree run is in the plans for tomorrow!

Great dollar store buys! I jsut did K-mart for the first time in years this week. They were having 50% off clearance. It was so cheap. I spent $205 and got $900 worth of stuff. Claire is all set for her b-day, Christmas and so is my neice! I love deals!

That is some awesome shopping!!!!!!! :yay: We don't have K-Mart around here...which surprises me because we live in a town of all chain stores and restaurants!

What a cutie in an adorable hat! And awesome finds at the dollar store!

Looks like mini golf was a perfect plan for the day!

Thanks!!

Great deals at the Dollar Store! I'm really cheap so I feel at home buying things for a buck. ;) Love that hat. Does H keep them on his head?

By "keep" on his head, how long do you mean?
10-60 seconds? Yep! :lmao:
Often times it comes off after a minute or two though...UNLESS he chooses to wear it. Then it can stay on for HOURS and he will insist on wearing it if we take it off. Same with his 'Cars' hat.

Yep, he's in that stage. (Really, it's not bad at all-it's fun to see him have opinions! And he's a very good and cooperative child most of the time)

So, to get him used to it, we leave it in the living room right now with his toys and he puts it on randomly throughout the day.

Heather

I love your idea of theming your gifts with the day! I'm going to have to remember that for when Henry is actually old enough to notice/understand.

Your story is so similar to mine! I had an ultrasound the day before I had Henry and the nurse commented about him being a 'big baby'. Everyone thought 8 or 9 pounds.

He came out 10 pounds 3 ounces, and with a 15 inch head. Everyone laughed in awe!

He was a C-Section because he wouldn't drop because of the size of his head!

Henry's head has been off the charts since he was 3 months old too. We tell him he's just SMART. :thumbsup2 :goodvibes

Love the new pictures of Henry:thumbsup2
He is just too cute:thumbsup2

Thank you!!!

And I also wanted to comment on the tragedy that occurred at Disney World with the monorail crash. Both Joe and I were horrified. Our prayers instantly went out to the families involved and for those of the deceased CM. I was happy to read that the monorail is back and running; however, I know when I ride it in September, my thoughts will wander to the CM and his family for a few quiet moments.

It is such a shocking thing to happen in what most all of us consider our "happy place". :sad1:

Brook-it really was a horrible tragedy-to be so young and working at the "happiest place on earth" -so sad for him, his family and friends.

Henry really is too cute for his own good...:lovestruc...When my kids were that age I would sometimes just look over and want to squeeze them ...they're so sweet...sometimes when my dd sees little kids she kind of sqeaks and says " omg...I just want to go and grab that cutie and squeeze them or she'll say I want to eat them up..."...(she is actually awesome w/little ones-she has been referred to as the babysitter from heaven...:cloud9:)-however my little guy will look at her and say "Emily that is not appropriate behaviour-you can not just squeeze them or eat them up-it will scare them and their mommies won't like it..."-he can be very literal...:rotfl: Henry would definately be on her eat up list and David would feel compelled to protect him...pirate:

I like your snack list so I'm stealing the idea...

I haven't gotten very far but I know I must try:

The Goofy Pretzel Rods-sweet and salty-yum
The Cappuccino Float-Ice cream and coffee-does it even need an explanation?

&

The Grand Marnier Slushie-sounds heavenly...:cloud9:

OBTW-We all have big heads in our family-We just joke about it-finding hats can be a challenge...(the nurse looked slightly alarmed when David was in for one of his first checkups-he was pushing off the chart-until the pediatrician said-"it's ok-ask them if large heads run in the family-and look and the mom and the sis-they have large heads..." Um thanks I think?:confused3

But it's all good because we are all very bright if not slightly nuts-in a good kind of a way...:dance3:

Oh, that snack list is making me hungry!! I'm thinking for our next trip I need to plan a day just to snack. No meals, snacks only! :rotfl2:

Love the Dollar Store! I have been stocking up on glowsticks there since April to use when we go camping. Hours of cheap fun! The bucket hat is really cute. Henry is getting big!!

I know it, it's still all just a bit unbelievable. :sad1:

That is so funny that David is so literal! How cute!
There are three questions I ask Henry all the time:
1)"How old are you going to be?" "Two!"
2)"Can I keep you forever?" He nods his head.
and
3)"Can I eat you?" He starts to giggle because he knows I'm gonna come and "chop" his belly and tickle him! :goodvibes

So, if we ever run into you, Emily can "eat him"! ;)

I've heard many good things about that Grand Marnier Slushie! If I drank, I think that would be my #1 choice!

The salty & sweet of the pretzel rods is exactly why I love them so much!

OBTW-We all have big heads in our family-We just joke about it-finding hats can be a challenge...(the nurse looked slightly alarmed when David was in for one of his first checkups-he was pushing off the chart-until the pediatrician said-"it's ok-ask them if large heads run in the family-and look and the mom and the sis-they have large heads..." Oh my gosh! :lmao: I can't believe the Ped said that! Oh man, that's funny. I'm sure ours was thinking that!!!

Ooh, I like that snack-all-day idea. We kinda did that during the F&WF back in November - but were able to squeeze in some regular food too!

Glowsticks are perfect for camping! I am going to head back to ours today after Henry's nap and try to find those Mickey crayons and probably buy a few more glowsticks. It never hurts to have 'em on hand for just plain fun in the yard either! :thumbsup2

Back in Wisconsin Dells....we left off after arriving in the new motel, mini golfing and just relaxing and chatting late into the night.

We allowed the children to be our alarm the next morning, got ready and the kids found the playground directly across the parking lot from our hotel room. So, while we packed and loaded the cars, the kids played.

It was another beautiful day! Bright, sunny and warm-but not too warm!

http://brookelizabeth.smugmug.com/photos/547191427_tb6QV-L-2.jpg
This was our hotel room-there were 3 Queen Size beds. Basic and slightly outdated, but VERY clean and the price was right!

Of course he found the one thing on the playground that resembled a car.

I recall Henry being a bit hesitant on both the stairs of the playground equipment and going down the slide.

Two months later, he's a pro at both! He's almost walking up and down stairs standing straight up...the baby moves are slowly disappearing...:sad1:

http://brookelizabeth.smugmug.com/photos/547206785_4XRvR-L-2.jpg
The hotel-our room was the one directly to the right of the red truck.

After the cars were loaded up we ventured out and found some breakfast/lunch at the most glamorous Burger King.

But, the meals did come with free paper crowns! ;)

During our brunch we decided to check out the Upper Dells Boat Tour. I read really great reviews on this boat tour AND we had a "Buy 3, Get 1 Free" discount rate.

After some driving all over the Dells and ending up in the wrong parking lot twice, 2 of the 3 kids were fast asleep in the cars and we found the correct place to purchase tickets. We then had to cross a busy highway and hike up a small hill - walk a couple blocks, go down two elevators to the waiting boat.

Ya think they could find an easier way to tell the tickets and get you to the tour! :confused3

Of course we didn't make it on the first boat - it was packed. So we waited just a bit and boarded the second launch.

Let me tell you, the ordeal of first finding the place, then waking up the kids, getting to the boat, and then waiting was WELL worth it! This was SUCH a cool tour!

This is, what our boat driver (who reminded me of Frank Lapidius from "LOST") called, "The Real Dells".

Be prepared for PICTURE OVERLOAD! :goodvibes

Frank Lapidius. I mean...our Captain. I can't remember his real name. But, he had worked on this boat tour for a VERY long time, then left for a while to get an office job, but the draw of the boat, the water, and just the sheer entertainment of doing the tours drew him back. He had been back for about 10 years. Needless to say, he was VERY knowledgeable and excellent as his job.

The tour started out and we could instantly tell this was gonna be beautiful.

If you've ever been to the Dells you would see tourist attractions-some VERY tacky and/or odd looking, hotels in all colors, shapes, and sizes, stores, theme parks and people all over the streets. Nothing which has to do with the river. You could easily visit the Dells and never even realize there is a river there!

However, just going down those two elevators brought you face to face with the river and with nature.

Incredible sandstone rock formations, and due to the unique ecosystem, plant and animal life that is only found in a handful of places in the world.

I think it's amazing how these trees basically grow out of the rocks that overhang the river!

http://brookelizabeth.smugmug.com/photos/547207371_eDaEj-L-2.jpg
This doesn't do it justice.

http://brookelizabeth.smugmug.com/photos/547207428_WLwmF-L-2.jpg
There is another similar tall, jutting out in the water, rock formation on the other side of the river from this and they call this area something like "Marriage Rock". If I recall the story correctly, the man would stand on one side, and the woman on the other. They would throw two flaming sticks into the water. If they went out before they hit the water, the married was "doomed". If they were still both lit when they hit the water, then they would have great success. If one went out and one stayed lit...well...:scared1: ;)

http://brookelizabeth.smugmug.com/photos/547202591_Jg4yx-L-2.jpg
This one is called something like "Face Rock" - if you look t the darker rock on the left hand side of the picture, you will see a "nose" jutting out and a small tree that is the eye.

We walked up a small incline to Stand Rock. This is kind of an infamous area in Wisconsin Dells.

http://brookelizabeth.smugmug.com/photos/547204710_biBbh-L-2.jpg

The story is that H.H. Bennett, who was a photographer back in the mid-late 1800s, took pictures of the Dells, the popularity of them grew and grew and people began to visit the area just to see the rock formations he took pictures of. Bennett then began a business on this tourism an started a photography studio-he sold postcards and the like of his pictures to the visitors. In the meantime, he was also an inventor. He created the stop action shutter which allowed him (and now us!) to take pictures of action and "stop" them. Which is pretty standard photography today-we now have to adjust our cameras to get it to leave the shutter open for a blurry picture!

Anyway, he created the shutter and then had his son jump between these two rock formations until he had a shot of him in mid-air to prove his invention.

The picture instantly became famous. And so did the shutter!

http://brookelizabeth.smugmug.com/photos/547204792_tsG87-L-2.jpg
Our other guide telling us the story of Stand Rock, you can see the picture H.H. Bennett took of his son in mid-air.

http://brookelizabeth.smugmug.com/photos/547204845_jxgXL-L-2.jpg
Today, the have a dog jump between the rocks just like Bennett's son did. Look, stop-action, the dog in mid-air!! ;)

Heading to...the gift shop of course!

We bought a magnet and a few other goodies.

And then back to the boat.

http://brookelizabeth.smugmug.com/photos/547205499_PYE5B-L-2.jpg

We headed back to the area we launched off from and Henry started to get a bit fussy. He hadn't napped at all again that day and was just DONE with being on our laps...more toys to entertain helped!

http://brookelizabeth.smugmug.com/photos/547205571_GP2zD-L-2.jpg

When we were dropped off again we found a small waiting area that had some old pictures, I do not know if they are H.H. Bennett's, or not, but I'm guessing they are.

As you can probably tell-due to the sheer amount of pictures I took, this was an AWESOME boat tour!! I loved every second of it.

Up next: Should we stay, or should we go now?

Wow, those pictures are awsome. God's handiwork is amazing. I have never seen rocks like that before in my life. Thanks for sharing:thumbsup2

I so agree! God's handiwork never ceases to amazing me!!!
I pretty much grew up in southern Minnesota surrounded by bluffs (also formed by the glaciers) and I had never seen anything quite like this either. I really felt privileged getting to experience it!

It really was a beautiful ride - I feel like my pictures don't even come close to doing it justice. I was amazed for the entire ride at the history and the beauty!

You're welcome! :goodvibes This is my favorite sorta thing to do-both Joe and I are really into history, so it was a really great tour for both of us.

I wonder if you can find prints of Bennett's out there??? Hmmmm...

Wow, the Dells are beautiful! Having lived here in MA all my life, I've never heard of it. Thanks for sharing!

It really was very beautiful! The strange thing is you would NEVER know it was there due to the very overloaded tourist attractions all over the town. Kinda funny, but I'm glad they still do the tours and show people this side of it all!

Wow! Read it all! I needed to catch up, seeing as - not only are we going to be in WDW at the same time in September - but you're going on the Podacast Cruise!!!!! :cool1:

Hey Jaime! Thanks for reading! I've been a bit of a lurker on your past couple TRs - I loved the bit about your camera on a steeeeeeeeek. ;) I love it so much, if our paths do cross in September, can we get a pic together using it??? :dance3::laughing:

And YES! The Podcast Cruise!!!! Joe and I are so excited about it! We already tell Henry about going on the "Mickey Boat". We have been listeners to the Podcast for about 3 years now, but I've just kinda lurked over on those boards-I'm starting to post more in attempts to get to know a few people before the cruise. I can't wait until you get to that part in your TR!!

Great pictures from your get-away! The dog's jump makes me mega-nervous! :scared: That looks dangerous!!!

I was really nervous about the dog jumping at first, but then when he got up there and did it-he was almost as long as the gap! He barely even had to jump, it was more of a big step for him. I was really relieved when I realized that!

Fantastic pictures, that boat tour looks great. Henry is too cute, he seems like such a good boy. Looks like you had a great time.

Thank you! We did have a great time! And Henry is a very, very good baby. He are beyond blessed with his easy demeanor. He really only fits when he has good reason to.

Lovely boat ride! I about fell out of the chair laughing when you called your captain Frank Lapidius! He does look just like him!!! :rotfl2:

It totally made me do a double take and whisper to Joe "Uh...that guy looks like Frank from Lost, are we SURE we want to be on HIS boat???" :rotfl2: I almost commented to him at one point when he was chatting with us, but I restrained myself.

I'm a fan of the gift shop and snack shop as well. Gotta get my treat and my magnet!

Absolutely - in fact the picture of you guys in the elevator in WI looks like it was taken with a steeek...

If you're still planning to do Sci-Fi at 11:30, I can make sure I'm out front a little before that for a Drive by shooting (with the camera on a steeek!)

I will be done with Disneyland this week (there's 4 more chapters to post) and then it's time to head down to Florida!

I have fallen behind and just caught up on your mini-TR. You know I am hoping to visit the Dells in a few weeks (still waiting on that job situation to settle out) and you boat tour looks SO beautiful!!!! DH realy wants to focus on the commercial side of the area, I'm going to have to show him your pics, they will convince him to set some time aside for the nature part too (he won't be able to say no to the Earth Science teacher in him :rotfl: ) Do you by chance remember which tour company you went with? I noticed there are a few and I love the idea of being able to get out and walk a bit.

Yes! I gotta get you those emails. I'm awful with email. :guilty: I have a bunch of them saved in my inbox for you!

I do hope the situation with the job works out! I know that must be very stressful...

The boat tour was the highlight of the entire trip for me! The commerical side of the Dells is very fun; but really-this was amazing! I don't think you'll have a problem convincing that science side of him! :goodvibes The tour told us all about different species of animals, trees, etc. that were unique to the area, along with the history. It was really great!

We went with "Dells Boat Tours". That's all it said on our little pamphlets...I didn't even realize there were more than one!

The place where we bought the tickets was basically right under the train bridge (which you will see when you are there). It's a little shack in a parking lot.

This was their logo...in case it helps!:

Drive by posting....

Two things:

1) Henry has an icky skin rash on his arm and neck. Impetigo. It's VERY common in toddlers, but I feel so bad for my baby. I'll spare you the details of what it looks like, but, it's just "ew".

He doesn't even notice the rash, thankfully!!

2) I tuned into DISradio earlier tonight and Joe asked what I was playing. He started listening and said "We should really buy the park music on CD. And I want the music from the Wilderness Lodge too."

Have I ever mentioned I love him?

:lovestruc

I'm thinkin' that "4 Parks, 1 World CD" will be ours in September!!! Does anyone know if they sell music from the hotels too?

I have a real post (or two) brewing...I hope to get one posted tomorrow morning. :goodvibes

Poor Henry! Did the doctor give you some antibacterial cream to put on it?

You will not be disappointed in your purchase of 4 Parks, One World. I listen to it in the car every time I am out and about.

There are no CDs of resort music, but here are links from Mousesavers listing the music they play at both WL and AKL.

Wilderness Lodge Lobby Music (http://www.mousesavers.com/wlmusic.html)

Animal Kingdom Lodge Lobby Music (http://www.mousesavers.com/aklmusic.html)

Most of the tracks can be downloaded from iTunes -- it also makes for good driving music. ;)

Oh-I'm sorry MeMom! I forgot about your feelings on being trapped, or the thought of being trapped....

It really was a very beautiful place! I have to go back and look at Henry's shoes....

Oh his little Keens! It's fun when Joe, Henry and I all wear ours together. We are that family. :goodvibes Henry's aren't really Keens. Keens are expensive walking shoes. His are Payless Shoes (Airwalks) knockoffs from a garage sale!! Maybe he'll get the real thing someday when his feet aren't growing 3 sizes in a year. ;)

What a beautiful update!! Thank you for sharing all those gorgeous pictures!! That boat ride looks like something Phillip and I would love to do together!!

Got to love Henry at the playground, he looked like he was having so much fun!!!!

Henry has grown to LOVE parks and playgrounds. Whenever we drive by one and he happens to see it he points and says "slide!" Of course, being the way I am, I have a very hard time telling him we can't, or we have to come back later - usually we end up pulling over for a few rounds down the slide! :goodvibes It's so fun though, I love it!

WOW Brook! Dells is BEAUTIFUL!! Don't know if I missed a history lesson or not, but I had never heard of it before, it's so neat. Oh ya, this would be WAY up your DHs alley!! I don't think the Dells are incredibly "known" except by those in the midwest. Generally Wisconsin isn't viewed as a destination... so, I'm sure you aren't alone!

Love the Dells update. I can't beleive that "HH" let his kid jump back and forth like that, jsut to get a good picture. LOL! All in the name of science I guess. But can you imagine having your kid do that? LOL!

I know! I would have NEVER let my kid jump between the rocks! It really wasn't that far, but still!!!!!!! :scared1: My heart skipped a beat when the dog did it, I can't imagine a human. I'm sure there have been oodles of teenagers that have done it though on a dare...

The Upper Dells are considered better - the one we did. I researched that out and wanted to be sure to do the good one!

Dells looks just beautiful! :goodvibes

It really was - just breathtaking!

WOW! I don't know much about the Dells but those picstures have definitely caught my attention. The whole area looks GORGEOUS!!

It is really beautiful on the river! On the street it looks a bit like a sideshow at a circus in some areas....I think we took some pics while driving, so you'll get to see some of the crazy buildings they have!

Jumping on board and am all caught up! I am jealous that you have 2 trips coming up and can't wait to see the pictures from December!

Hey there! Long time no see!!!! :goodvibes
I can't believe we have 2 trips coming up!!! We never anticipated going back every year, let alone several times in a year! Joe said last night "I can see us buying more points (for DVC), so we can go back twice a year every year." From your lips to God's ears honey!!!! :thumbsup2

We are hoping to visit the Dells in summer 2010 when we are planning our Twin Cities invasion. I wonder if you can request Cap'n Frank. (Who isn't Frank.)

Did I tell you I saw Benjamin Linus once while living in NYC? I couldn't bring myself to talk to him. He looked equally as creepy in real life, but he smiled. So that helped.

I don't think he's actually a creepy looking person-but since he's so freaky on Lost, he's just got that stereotype!

I wouldn't doubt that you could request Cap'n Frank. You might have to wait for his boat, but it would be worth it! He was a great guide-so knowledgeable! When you do your Twin Cities invasion of 2010, you'll have to let me know and maybe our paths can cross with the Biscuit clan.

Today marks 50 days until we arrive at CSR!! Our flight was originally coming in around 11:30 pm, which would put us arriving at WDW on September 3 (after midnight), but, it got bumped earlier and we are now landing just after 11:00 pm, which hopefully will mean we arrive at the resort before midnight.

In my world, that shaves a day off the counter! :rotfl:

It's all about the Disney Math folks!

And, I don't know if I have clearly expressed my excitement about staying at CSR, but I am VERY excited about it! The more I read about it, the more I look at pictures - the more excited I get.

I have read both good reviews and poor reviews, so I feel like I've prepared myself with "the bad" and know what to (and what not to) expect.

I think we are going to really enjoy this resort.

(The following pictures have been found via Google and AllEars.net)

It has 2 playgrounds, which is a big :thumbsup2 in Henry's world:

1) Henry has an icky skin rash on his arm and neck. Impetigo. It's VERY common in toddlers, but I feel so bad for my baby. I'll spare you the details of what it looks like, but, it's just "ew".

He doesn't even notice the rash, thankfully!!

Our doctor appointment is this Thursday, so I'm sure he'll be getting something. I hope it's a cream, I don't want to have to give him medicine...

Hey, Brook!

You may remember that I'm a derm nurse... okay, maybe you don't... but I'm putting my 2 cents in anyway! http://i179.photobucket.com/albums/w284/KathyRN137/Smilies/nurse.gif

The fact that it's not itchy leads me to agree that it is bacterial and not an allergic reaction. Don't wait until Thursday, it may get worse or spread. Get some over the counter bacitracin ointment and put it on twice a day until you get him to the doctor!!

Hope he's better soon!

Ugggh! Impetigo is icky! DS Johnny had it the end of the summer 2 summers ago. He got it because his bathing suit had irritated his sensitive little skin o nthe top of his thigh so much! I'm glad Henry's not noticing it!

Ok, I'll admit to being a big geek and having the list of WL songs that CP posted the link too on my ipod! :lmao: I'm also a HUGE fan of live365.com all the fun Disney World stuff they have on there!

All those pictures of CSR are so pretty! You must be soooo excited to be getting so close!! 50 days will fly by!

Did I tell you I saw Benjamin Linus once while living in NYC? I couldn't bring myself to talk to him. He looked equally as creepy in real life, but he smiled. So that helped.Yes! That was totally awesome!

I'll def give you guys a shout out!

Today marks 50 days until we arrive at CSR!! If time were coins, you'd be like a can of pop away from your trip! HOW COOL IS THAT? (Yes I've learned to say pop when discussing soda with Minnesotans. I've also learned to say cart when discusssing a buggy and to say binder when discusing rubber bands. I even occasionally break out on Ooftah for good measure!)

Just an FYI- the bikes and marina were closed... so I bet they are closed for your trip too, sorry!

Ahhhh...you know I have been thinking of doing a resort post on my PTR because I find myself online looking at pictures constantly. Tripadvisor sometimes has great pics too, just FYI. I don't think you listed them as a source. ;)

I can't wait to see all of your CSR light fixtures.

Poor Henry, rashes are the worst! I hope it goes away quickly. :goodvibes

Oooh, I haven't looked at Tripadvisor. Good advice!
You should do a post on your resort, I want to share in the excitement! OKW is sooooo pretty, I bet you are gonna love it!

I have one on my hair coming up, so it's like we can swap post topics.

Looks like a nice resort. It's always been on my list :)

It's been on ours since the beginning too. It will be fun to finally experience it!

Great collection of pictures Brook (I always want to spell your name with an E because of your screen name). For years I never wanted to stay at CSR but now I want to. I think it's because we stayed at CBR and the layout is similar. And that playground looks great! Liam would approve :thumbsup2

No problem on the name-a LOT of people spell it wrong. People I know in real life, who I've known for years. :headache: If you, or someone else from here spells it wrong-it doesn't phase me! :goodvibes Funny quick story about how it ended up with no "e". My sister is named Jennifer. Two e's in her name. She had SO many problems writing the e's, my Mom didn't want to go through the hassle with me and the e, so she dropped it from my name! Of course, my middle name is Elizabeth, and my maiden last name had two e's too!

Did you like CBR? It looks really pretty! I think we'll want to stay there sometime too, I've just never been to the resort in person -only via the DIS. ;)

CSR is soooooooooooo pretty! We've never stayed but we visited to check out the resort on our last trip and it's seriously gorgeous. I have the best picture of my dad lounging on a hammock on the beach between two palm trees. It's one of my favorite pictures from the trip... :cloud9: You're gonna love it!

I hope you are right! I think we will though-it looks so peaceful.

I've forgotten to say this, but I LOVE that you have Boy Meets World in your siggy pictures. That show is the best!

That would be so cool if they sold resort music. I've actually gotten a couple of CDs from Target that remind me of the music they play at the Polynesian and the Animal Kingdom Lodge...:rolleyes1

Hooray for only 50 days!!

I'm really surprised they don't sell the resort music! I bet it would go quick off the shelves. I love that people have taken the time to figure out the songs and compile the lists in iTunes!

Glad you and Joe are excited about the iTunes music -- I love it! :thumbsup2

You are so going to enjoy CSR, Brook! :goodvibes

I think I'll listen to it most while cleaning. Pretending I'm in my happy place versus scrubbing a toilet.

I don't know if I ever commented back to you on your stay at CSR, but I LOVED all your pictures! They were so beautiful.

Impetigo stinks! Been there, done that. Gag. Love the CSR pictures! What a gorgeous place to chill after being in the parks. Good choice. :)

It's so icky! He just has the blister kind, but it looks just awful. :sad1:

I think CSR will be a nice haven from the parks as well. Joe really digs the beach/tropical look, so I think he especially will love it!

Hi Brook!

Sorry to hear about Henry's rash!! Poor little guy (and Mommy, too!!) , hope it clears up sooner than later...one thing I haven't come across here...yet!!;)

The pics of CSR are just beautiful! I can see why you are excited to go there and I'm wtih you on your Disney math, one less day to count (lol!) is a good thing!!! 50 days...wow, it's really sneaking up on you now!!!:cheer2: I'm just 10 behind you....so sorry we won't be there at the same time! I would have loved to have met you & your family in person!!!:guilty: OH well, maybe next time!!!:goodvibes

I hope you never have to deal with impetigo! It's not terrible, but looks so ishy.

I'm bummed we are going to just miss each other too!! I wish our trip was a bit longer, but I have no extra PTO. Sigh. I hope our paths cross again down the road!

What a cool playground! Belle climbed up the playground and came down the slide for the first time on Saturday. She felt like such a big girl! It was precious!

You are making me excited and I'm not even staying there! Can't wait to read your trip report!

Awwwww! Go Belle go! It's so fun, and heartbreaking at the same time, to watch them do something new, isn't it? Henry today took 4 steps down ALL BY HIMSELF. We were on our way outside and I turned around and he was already down 1 step. I gasped in fear, but then quickly recovered and applauded him. He's getting so big!!!!

Have you decided which side of PO you are going to do yet? It would be a very hard decision for me! Both are so beautiful.

:worship::worship::worship: OK, can you bottle this attitude and send it to me?? My DH needs a heavy dose!

 on hitting 50 days! Your trip will be here before you know it. I think your really going to like CSR, we stayed there on our first trip with the kids, and enjoyed it very much.

:rotfl2: I am truly blessed to have a many that shares in the "addiction" as much as I do! He also talks very often about adding DVC points so we can go more than once a year. He's hooked!

I'm so happy to read another positive review of CSR! :yay:

Gotta love that Disney Math, right? :goodvibes

The Pepper Market does intimidate me a bit-it even sounds confusing! But, I'm sure we'll get the hang of it after a time or two through.

Ugggh! Impetigo is icky! DS Johnny had it the end of the summer 2 summers ago. He got it because his bathing suit had irritated his sensitive little skin o nthe top of his thigh so much! I'm glad Henry's not noticing it!

I think Henry's started because of a mosquito bite while we were camping. That is what it looked like originally. Apparently, it happens most often from clothing and insect bites. Kinda strange!

I love that you have the music on your iPod! As soon as we get paid this week, we will too!!!!!

I sure do hope these 50 days fly by! Every time I think about it all, I get so excited!

:lmao: I love your "you'd be a can of pop!" Nice!!!!!!

I'm not really from Minnesota....so, I say SODA. :scared1: Joe cheers when I let a "pop" slip out. And by buggy versus cart do you mean, like the thing you put your groceries in at the store? To me, that's a grocery cart. I've heard people call their strollers buggies, but not here in MN - I think that's a southern thing. I think. I also call them rubber bands! Ugh, binder. Binder is either a 3 ring BINDER, or a hair binder for pony tails. Minnesotans talk WEIRD. :rotfl2: One of my favorites was "Girls carry a billfold, men carry a wallet." My response, "No, I carry a wallet."

When you guys are here, I would seriously love to meet up with ya. We can hit the Mall of America or a great park together!

:rotfl: Speaking of Disney twin... :rolleyes1 That's definitely the section I requested.

Exactly! Me too!!!!!! Okay, now which building in the Cabanas are you hoping for???

Just an FYI- the bikes and marina were closed... so I bet they are closed for your trip too, sorry!

I'm so happy to read it's even prettier in person! We have only seen it from the ME bus window (twice now), and each time we sorta gasped at the bit we could see and how beautiful it seemed. I love the Casitas area with all the fountains too.

That's a bummer about the bikes! Maybe we can hit them up over at the Poly or the BW. Who knows though...I always make these grand plans and we never have time for it all.

Now that was fun! Fun family and cute video... I still have not looked at the video DH took...

I am just starting to look at our video from 2008 and 2009. I've been uploading to YouTube for the past few days. But otherwise, it just sits there. We have been talking for this trip to do something a bit different and more entertaining-probably nothing to this extent though!

We were in 8A. I requested that building on my reservation and loved it.

If anything I wish I would have checked out the other sections of the resort. I never walked past the big pool area in the other direction. I did check out the Cabana quiet pool though... when we did laundry.... but I never even got in a hammock. Losing those first two lazy days at the Contemporary kinda ruined my exploring time. Brook, I have meaning to make a nice post and comment on everything you posted, but then I never got around. So instead of waiting even longer, I will just say I am still there! I hope Henry will heal quickly!! I can imagine how difficult it is to see your child suffer. My friend's son developed a really bad rash when he was a few months old and she was really depressed about it because it would not go away. It turned out to be an allergic reaction to nearly all types of food, so she had to stop nursing him and he now gets special baby milk she has to get with a prescribtion. But both son and mother are much happier now!!

I will keep 8A in mind - I was leaning toward 9B I think, the one right next to the main building, but I've since learned this is their "conceriage", so if a conference is going on during that time, these rooms are used for those guests. But, if a conference is not going on, then they are able to be used for leisure guests.

That kinda stinks about not having time to explore/enjoy CSR; however, it also makes for a very good excuse to go back! ;)

It has 2 playgrounds, which is a big :thumbsup2 in Henry's world:

http://brookelizabeth.smugmug.com/photos/589064084_wQbcg-M.jpg

And the Explorer's Playground, which might be a bit too big for him yet...but we'll see!

He does love to sit on Joe's lap and swing though.

And, I think he's gonna LOVE this:
http://brookelizabeth.smugmug.com/photos/589064263_i4svS-M.jpg

I wonder if the sand toys are in there, or if these belong to someone? Hmmm....

And the pool!

I'm looking forward to eating here:

BGreat Photos...Brook-I think you are going to have an amazing time at the CSR-It seems to have a "cult" following in the way Pop and AKL have...I have seen some not so great reviews but also a lot of really rave reviews and a lot of people who stay there seem loyal and go back-which is always a good sign:thumbsup2

Two things:

1) Henry has an icky skin rash on his arm and neck. Impetigo. It's VERY common in toddlers, but I feel so bad for my baby. I'll spare you the details of what it looks like, but, it's just "ew".
Oh sweetie-I'm so sorry for both you and Henry...Impetigo is unpleasant...aren't you amazed at all the "interesting" things that happen when you become a parent that you just couldn't fathom before...and because you have so much love for your baby all you can think about is getting them better...:cloud9: All kinds of good wishes t Henry for a speedy recovery...:goodvibes

Ummm-I'm curious about this too...hopefully someone will know the answer to this...

I have a real post (or two) brewing...I hope to get one posted tomorrow morning. :goodvibes

Poor Henry! Did the doctor give you some antibacterial cream to put on it?

You will not be disappointed in your purchase of 4 Parks, One World. I listen to it in the car every time I am out and about.

There are no CDs of resort music, but here are links from Mousesavers listing the music they play at both WL and AKL.

Wilderness Lodge Lobby Music (http://www.mousesavers.com/wlmusic.html)

Animal Kingdom Lodge Lobby Music (http://www.mousesavers.com/aklmusic.html)

Most of the tracks can be downloaded from iTunes -- it also makes for good driving music. ;)
And yes we have an answer...I think I might just need that AKL music to go with my new Starbucks African travel mug in the morning...

I am really starting to love these boards and all the great peeps here...it's cheaper than therapy and you can always find someone to enable you to do something Disney related...:lmao:...

Back on topic I am home with my ds today he has a stomach bug-but he's helping me go through some Disney pics...(he thinks the photo of him when he is 6 months wearing ears is a hoot-he can't believe he was only 1/2 a year old...) that seems very little apparently when you're pushing 7....I am going through them because I am breaking down and going to do a trippie-it seems only fair when I read everyone else's and get so much info and enjoyment from them...:confused3

?- if I start a pre trippie -does it then get moved over to regular trip reports when you are done your trip :sad2: and come home and finish it up-do you do that or do the board moderators move it...? (Sadly I am technologically challenged...)

:lmao: I think EVERY state has it's own quirks. Tracy teases me quite heartily about the Texan phrases I come up with. Take for example the word oil. Down here, you say it with one syllable. But depending on where you are in the state, the pronunciation varies. When I was in West Texas, it was "Earl", in South East Texas it was "Awl", and here in Central TX, it is "Ul".

Oh and I was talking about the thing you push at the grocery store. Which I still call a buggy and Tracy calls a cart. (We are still trying to recruit to girls our own sides so they call them both.)

Beautiful rock formations, beautiful river.....so nice. I LOVE nature. In So Cal it's hard to find large green space that isn't a manmade park of some sort. You really have to travel up to the mountains.....

Thank you for your kind words about Henry! And yes, that's exactly it-when he's sick or something is "off", my whole world seems to stop. I'll post a small update on him at the end of my post here. :goodvibes

I've noticed the cult following for CSR too. I've read so many positive reviews, but I made sure to take notes on the negative ones too so we can know what to expect. Sometimes when you love a resort you are a bit more forgiving. But, I am pretty certain we are gonna really enjoy it all!

I briefly read a bit about the African stuffs at Starbucks - I will have to check that out!!

No worries on the small hijack- please feel free to discuss whatever! I don't mind! :thumbsup2 And yes, I am a huge coffee-phile. I like that term! I wasn't fully aware of the stuff at Starbucks, so all this talk is making me want to make a pit-stop on Saturday when we are in Minneapolis.

I'm sorry to hear about your DS' stomach bug! I hope he feels better soon!

I am not sure if the pre-trippie gets automatically moved, I *think* it does after the Mods notice (or you can send a PM to them, OMari is the mod here). I have always just done 2 separate links instead of one monstrous report. When you do finish it they will move it to the "Completed" area and lock it down after a while.

I hope that helps-please post a link here when you do start your PTR! :yay:

I love the pictures that were posted!! Eeek! I can't wait!!!:yay:

:rotfl2: Our first stay I didn't request anything-I was so confused by it all, so I just didn't do one, and we got a GREAT location. For our 1 night Studio stay at SSR we didn't request anything either and we got what has to be one of the very best rooms on the property. And, at Pop we didn't request anything and got a great spot in the 50s section, very close to everything. So, not requesting stuff seems to do good I think!!

I will take anything in the Cabanas as well! I had put in the request for 9B, but switched it to 8A or 8B so we'd be closer to the bus, pool and playground. Just seems to work better with how our plans are taking shape.

Wisconsin Dells really is beautiful when you get beyond the tacky tourist traps! When I lived in NYC I remember coming back to Minnesota and literally throwing myself onto the grass, it smelled soooooo good. When you live with cement around you, nature is so precious.

Okay-I am SO confused by your last statement. A candidate? For...? I probably should get this, but well...uh...:rolleyes1:laughing:

UPDATE
Today we went to the doctor for Henry. His spots have been getting better as we have been washing them twice a day, and none of the blisters have popped. She suggested we just keep washing as we are now, and if they do pop, and things start to spread then bring him in again for an ointment. At this point, since the blisters do seem to be going down and almost disappearing on their own-and they aren't bugging Henry at all, it's not necessary to have any medication.

So that was GREAT news. Hopefully they all continue to go away and not spread any more! We didn't have any new spots this morning-so that was a good thing!:thumbsup2

Next up...we went to a doctor appointment for me.

I hadn't shared this yet.

No, I'm not pregnant! :rotfl2: (People at work were wondering when I suddenly said I had a doctor appointment!)

I've had foot pain for about a month. I've just been dealing with it, but it has been REALLY bad some days, so today I finally bit the bullet, wanting to not have a lame foot for Disney World and had the doctor evaluate it.

Thankfully, it's not broken at all. But, due to how it's swollen and the tenderness I have, the doctor is thinking it's my tendon. So, I'm in a boot. For 3 weeks. After 3 weeks, if I feel like I'm close to being 100% again, we will do the boot a bit longer-and hopefully then I'll be fine. Or, if nothing has really changed, then they have to do an MRI and figure out what is going on in there.

The cool thing was, my doctor GETS DISNEY. As soon as I mentioned we were going on vacation in September, he asked where..."Disney." "Oh geez, we have to get you well for that! We don't want you limping for Disney!"

:thumbsup2

Even when I said "I could get an electric cart if necessary." He said "No, we gotta get you on your feet!"

Smart doctor!!! :rotfl: Then told me a bit about when they took their children...I could tell he had very fond memories of their trip.

Have you ever chased a toddler up a grassy hill with one of these klunky boots on??? It was a sight! Let me tell you!!!!

However, Henry learned a new word today...."Boot!" :goodvibes

And I'll leave you with this, a pic of me with my new haircut (I'll post more on that in a real update) and my snazzy, snazzy boot.

http://brookelizabeth.smugmug.com/photos/593257581_betvm-M.jpg

And according to this blog: http://www.2719hyperion.com/2008/04/snapshot-burrito-at-panchitos.html the flying donkey is from the Flying Gauchito segment of The Three Caballeros. His name is Burrito. (which I find to be a really cute name for this flying donkey! :cutie:)

Glad that Henry is getting better. I just got back from the doctor with my 21 mo old too and she has a viral ***** throat- yuck!! and for the second time!! It is hard when they are feeling bad.
I feel for you with that boot too. My oldest DD had foot surgery (on one foot) May 15th and on the second one June 15th. She is just now starting to walk (or hobble) a bit on both. You dont realize how much you take your feet for granted until something happens:) She is in Darco shoes on both feet. She would go crazy if she had that big tall boot on her feet. Hopefully you will have very quick healing and wont need that at Disney:thumbsup2

:thumbsup2

It has been a while...and I have been in a Disney Depression since I have no trips planned. I also have a hard time getting on the computer now that I am working overnights. DH and I are waiting to hear where we are going to move to in April and we are hoping one of the choices will be Tampa...that is the closest we will be able to get to Orlando. The other choice would be in VA near my sister. One day we will buy into DVC but I would like to buy a house first...time will tell. It would be great if you bought more points and could go twice a year especially with Henry getting older...he is going to have so much fun over the years. I can't wait to go with my kids (when I finally have some) and my Nephew.

I'm glad Henry's rash is getting better. DH got that on his face once - it was disgusting!! :scared: We got in a fight because I wouldn't go near him - I was afraid of catching it - kinda funny now that I look back on it...:lmao:

Congrats on 50 days! I hope you get that lovely boot off before your trip - and that your foot feels better!

CSR pics are great. If I have to do a mod for my 40th birthday mini-trip, we will do CSR because it looks like it's the closest mod to Epcot. It looks really nice!

Oh, and speaking of park music, I have "WDW Official Album (2006) Where the Magic Lives ". It's 2 discs of park music and covers all the highlights. My Disney playlist on my Ipod includes that cd, my 5 disc Classic Disney: 60 Years of Magical Music set and my Epcot Illuminations cd. Love it! :thumbsup2

You asked me about CBR. We liked it. I have a few pics in my TR. We went mostly for the pirate room. The girls enjoyed it. We also had a fun time at the pool-though the splash area can get crazy. I love that you googled it :goodvibes-love to know what you put in the search engine...

I hope the weather does not get too hot with that boot on. The pics of CSR look so beautiful!! We have never been there. We love POFQ!! I am sure you will have an awesome time & cannot wait to hear all about it.

Hi Brook, have only just begun to read your PTR & have to say that you will Love CSR! Had my first stay there last month & it is all of what you've read that's good, plus some!

Also, the 4 Parks CD is awesome!!! I listen to it all the time. Can't wait to read more!

Hi Brook! I hope by now Henry is even better and his rash/blisters are going away. I admit I'm a nervous nelly over my DS and it's not easy when anything is wrong with them and they don't feel 100%. Hang in there little Henry! :goodvibes:goodvibes

I swear you were going to tell us you were PG! :rotfl: Good for you for getting your foot checked out before it's too late! The things we will do for our Disney trips, right? :) I hope the boot helps it heal and it's nothing serious.

Well now you should be less than 50 days, which feels so soon, doesn't it? We're down to almost 70 days and can't wait! I just booked the new Pirates and Pals Fireworks Voyage for us during our trip and it's a surprise for DS. :cool1:

Love the new haircut by the way!!

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Okay..I think I'm catching up....

Glad the rash is clearing up!

Hope the boot doesn't get too cumbersome and I agree with the DR. The boot must be off by Sept.

Lost--Remember when Ilana and the other guy were talking about Frank when Frank was supposed to be knocked out. The guy asked Ilana if he was a candidate. A candidate for what, who knows, but it's just one more question about Lost that needs to be answered.

Joining in. We'll be there from Dec 28 - Jan 2. Sooooo excited about seeing New Years Eve fireworks!!!

You should think about joining us at the Poly beach for NYE fireworks. There will be a small group of Disers, including our very own brookelizabeth.... and Henry and Joe, of course!

Oh goodness! I missed your post about your boot! At least you have time for it to get better! :goodvibes

Your haircut is super cute! I love it.

Too cute about the Donkey being Burrito. That makes me giggle.

So sorry to hear about the boot. Although I totally thought you were pregnant as I was reading! :rotfl: Yes, you absolutely must get it fixed before Disney. Thank goodness for a Dr. who gets it.

Glad H is getting better!

Love the new haircut. Too cute!! :)

Sorry for being a bit MIA on my PTR over the past few days, I've been trying to catch up on my subscriptions and I'm almost there. :goodvibes

That is one snazzy boot. I might be a little jealous :snooty:

:lmao: Oh, it is fetching, let me tell you! And the slight hobble you get when you walk-it's so flattering! :rotfl:

Love your new haircut! It looks very nice on you.

Thanks for "googling" the Donkey. I thought it looked familiar too.

Sorry about your foot! I had to wear a boot like that in high school when I hurt my ankle during gymnastics practice. Of course I hurt it in May and had to wear it until September.

We've had really cool weather as well, I'm missing my summer!!

That is awful about having to wear the boot the entire summer!! :headache: I would go crazy wearing it that long.

Today is finally a bit warmer around here, we are in the mid-70s! :yay:

If anyone can rock a boot --- it's you Brook! I hope it heals quickly!

:rotfl2: Thank you!

Hi Brook!
LOVE the new "do" very cute!!! And it must be SO easy (especially with a toddler in the house!).

Sorry to hear about your foot...glad to hear you're taking care of it though!! And glad to hear that Henry is clearing up, too!!!!

Hope you have a great weekend!!!!:goodvibes

The hair is SUPER EASY! My hair was pretty simple before, just product and let it air dry, but this one-no product (except hair spray after it's dry) even. I just comb and leave it air dry, style it a bit with my fingers and some spray and done! It dries quickly too, which is so nice!

Glad the doctor gets Disney... and here is hoping the boot works.

Poor Henry, the kids I babysat for had that while I was growing up -yuck!

Thank you! So far each time I have taken the boot off I've had no pain, but it's still swollen. But, it's only been a few days, so I gotta have some patience I suppose.

Brooke,
Here is a link to a youtube video enjoy!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vLOJ9HMkgAE

I LOVE that video and it makes me tear up every time I watch it! Henry loves it too, he dances to the song. :cutie:

Poor Brook! Take care of your foot!

And the haircut looks great!

Thank you! I'm trying to be very disciplined with the boot so it will mend up. I sure wish it wasn't my driving leg though!

Joining in. We'll be there from Dec 28 - Jan 2. Sooooo excited about seeing New Years Eve fireworks!!!

:dance3: I'm SUPER excited about those fireworks too! Not so excited about the crowds though. Are you planning on watching them in the park, or where?

Thanks for getting to the bottom of that Donkey:thumbsup2
I dont know if I have ever seen the Three Cabelleros before.

Oh your poor baby!!!!! :guilty: It is so hard when they don't feel good. :sad1:

That is awful about the foot surgery too! I cannot even imagine how stir crazy I would go with two bum legs. I am glad to hear she is starting to get around now though!

I don't think I have seen the Three Cabelleros either, or if I have, it's been a reallyyyyy long time. I do plan to ride it in September though, does that count?

Wow, I hope that you foot feels better soon. pixiedust: When I was reading it, I kept waiting for you to say that he told you that you have plantar fascitius. Since that can take a long time to heal, I am glad to hear that your diagnosis is different.

Oh man! Plantar fascitius would be awful! I'm so thankful it's not that! My Mom has gone through that. :sad2:

Well, the actual origin of the term isn't quite certain, but it has been suggested the name came as a result of it looking like one of the packs a donkey might be carrying on its back. At least that's what the Wikipedia article suggests, so who knows. Then again, I had a burrito for lunch today, so I now I'm starting to wonder a bit...

Okay, so that's not sooooo bad. I'm sure I'll think of it every time I eat Mexican though!

Which is why I eat fajitas.

Sorry to hear about your foot. That's a bummer. At least the DOC knows the importance of what he is dealing with here! Hope you get well soon so you can do some Disney Dancing. :cool1:

:rotfl: I love me some fajitas. I keep seeing pics of the ones served at CSR and thinking "Oh yes, you will be mine."

No trips! :sad2: That is a major bummer. I hope Tampa works out and then you can be at Disney all the time!!! (or at least very often ;)) When do you find out where you are off to?

brookelizabeth
07-19-2009, 05:13 PM

Love it! :thumbsup2

I would so stay away from my DH if he had that on his face too. Ick! I don't blame you a bit!

I'll be sure to take a LOT of CSR pics and give a full report back so you can prepare for your trip! I'm so excited you have a true trip in the makings!!!!!! :cheer2:

The "WDW Official Album" sounds like a great one! I wonder if they still sell that one too, or if the "4 Parks, 1 World" replaced it?

We downloaded the WL music and play it in the car - we both :lovestruc it!

I am glad Henry is getting better. Boo for your foot. Hope it heals quick. Yay for a Disney loving Doc. Very cute hair cut.
You asked me about CBR. We liked it. I have a few pics in my TR. We went mostly for the pirate room. The girls enjoyed it. We also had a fun time at the pool-though the splash area can get crazy. The food court was ok. It think if we had less rain we would have enjoyed exploring the beautiful grounds more.

FL has been so rainy this year! Every time I look at the forecast it's rain, rain, rain - all day long! I can see how that could damper a trip a bit. Good excuse to go back though, right? ;)

I opened the link to to your TR and hope to get a chance to read/catch up soon!

Brook,

so glad that Henry is on the mend...:goodvibes

very sad about your foot...:sad1:-we have to get you better for your trip (and life in general...notice my first thought was for your trip...:lmao:)

I do think that boot could become a fashion statement & the haircut is very chic...

I knew I recognized that donkey...The Three Calbereros is really a very cute cartoon/series of cartoons (I think Walt went on a trip to South America in the 40s) anyhow I love the old Disney Cartoons and that's a great one especially to get the whole new redo of the ride in Mexico...

I love that you googled it :goodvibes-love to know what you put in the search engine...

(I don't like that the little guy's name is Burrito :sad2:-that really puts a whole new spin on my affinity for Mexican food...:confused3)

I believe I wrote something like "flying donkey at coronado springs" in the search-and I did an image search to find people that have actually taken pictures of our little Burrito. Once I clicked on a few, I just happened to hit one that had some history on him. Dumb luck!

I was thinking the same thing on the Mexican food - but see Vexorg's post above - apparently it is because the food looked like/is shaped like, a pack from a donkey's back. That makes more sense, and lessens the "Are you sure this is beef?" fear a bit.

Love the haircut Brooke!! I am glad to hear Henry is doing better & no more spots. So sorry to hear about your foot. When you said you went to the doctors-that was the first thing I thought-She is pregnant!! Hopefully you will not need the boot for too long. I hope the weather does not get too hot with that boot on. The pics of CSR look so beautiful!! We have never been there. We love POFQ!! I am sure you will have an awesome time & cannot wait to hear all about it.

I had to make sure to tell my boss I wasn't pregnant too-she cracked up. She said she hadn't thought of that, so whew! :goodvibes Though Joe did randomly mention the other day about how he was pretty sure he wanted a second child. I started planning pregnancies around upcoming trips. I'm sick I tell ya!

POFQ looked SO nice from the bit we saw! We'll have to try that sometime as well.

Hi Brook, have only just begun to read your PTR & have to say that you will Love CSR! Had my first stay there last month & it is all of what you've read that's good, plus some!

Yes! Henry's blisters look better each day. And still no new ones, so that's a huge relief!

We are down to 45 days as of today! :yay: I can't wait to start the 30 day countdown and be able to say "1 month from now..."

Ah yes! That is right! And what was their code speak? "Who lies in the shadow of the statue?" Or somethin' like that. I seriously need to rewatch a few shows from last season to remember it all again!

Too cute about the Donkey being Burrito. That makes me giggle.

Love the new haircut. Too cute!! :)

I knew I would get people with my seeing the doc comment! My co-worker tells me I'm not allowed to have any more children because she knows I'll probably quit if I do!

I do hope the boot is gone after the 3 weeks. I cannot imagine going around Disney with this thing on! BUT I WILL!

Thank you to everyone on the well wishes for Henry! He's doing great! The rash/blisters are fading more and more each day, and nothing new has popped up!

And thank you for all the compliments on my hair cut. I'm really happy with it! I have an update brewing. The Plan 1.2 (you knew it was inevitable, right?), and a BAG update!! In addition, I want to share a few "must do's" from each park and some memories from past WDW trips. I hope to get at least some of this up tonight or tomorrow!

Henry is currently slowly waking from his nap...so I gotta get rolling...:goodvibes

Have a great Sunday all!

How many plans do you write up?
How many do you think out in your head as you are falling asleep?

COUNTLESS!!! :rolleyes1

Or is that just me?

No, I know it's not-this is the DIS and I read your PTRs too!! ;) :goodvibes

Due to all this thinking, planning and advice given here, The Plan 1.2 has naturally emerged. Here it is, along with some additional detail.

My changes/notes are in red:

Wednesday, September 2:
Arrival - our flight got bumped up by about a half hour, so we now land just after midnight which might bring us onto property technically on the 2nd!
SLEEP

Thursday, September 3:
Wake up in WDW!! Allow Henry to be our alarm clock
Animal Kingdom
(CS lunch - Flametree BBQ)
Explore AKV-Kidani
Tentative: MK for Spectro and/or Wishes This calls for a long day; so this might not happen today-option for "Free Evening" below
(CS - CASEY'S! hello my pretty corn dog nuggets!)

Friday, September 4:
Wake up early - Crystal Palace breakfast with Pooh & friends!! at 8:25 am! YES IT'S TRUE! :yay: Brook will be up for RD! (of course we'll still be in the restaurant during RD, but it will still give us a bit of a start - versus the 9:30ish we had previously)
MK
(CS lunch in mind - CHH, tuna sammich, drool)
Explore BLT
MK closes at 7:00 pm this day, it's the first MNSSHP. We will explore BLT, and either call it a night or explore. I have a few ideas...possibly view Hallowishes from the Poly Beach, simply enjoy CSR pool and playground, hop to another park (They just added EMH to DHS this night, or Epcot EMH) or DTD. We'll roll with it this night.

Saturday, September 5:
Allow Henry to be our alarm clock
Breakfast at the Main Street Bakery. Oh yes.
Monorail to Epcot
(CS lunch - Sunshine Seasons, Tangierine Cafe, haven't tried either!)
Free evening - Illuminations, or same open ideas as above, explore resorts, enjoy ours, DTD, another park, etc.

Sunday, September 6:
Wake up early, make DHS RD (or very close to) - breakfast at CSR
DHS
Sci-Fi lunch@ 11:20
(If we are around for dinner, Studio Catering Company or Starring Rolls, SCC chicken=yummy!, SR delish looking sammiches)
Free evening - same options as above (MK has evening EMH)

Monday, September 7:
Departure day
I originally thought we'd just kick around the resort; however, Joe :lovestruc suggested we "Wake up very early and do a mad dash [to the parks]"
So that is just what we are going to do! ME should be around 12:00 for our 3:30ish flight - so we'll hit up whatever park we are feeling that morning!

We are planning afternoon breaks on both the MK day and the DHS day. The break will occur around lunch, include napping for at least Henry and a swim for all of us, I hope to be back in the park by around 5:00 pm.

For our non-RD days, Henry will nap in the stroller (he's a pro) and we'll be done park touring earlier in the evening.

Since MK closes early on the day we are touring (I planned this specifically hoping for lower crowds during the day with MNSSHP that night and no Spectro and crowd levels of 4); I am thinking we'll hop to MK one night and/or on our Departure Morning. I really like the idea of seeing the Castle as the last thing before getting shoved back into the real world by the unMagical Express. ;) We will see - I just have these as ideas, we are going to "go with the flow"! :goodvibes

Any ideas/suggestions for the plans?

I've been working on my Ride Lists, so I hope to be sharing that-along with some past trip memories soon!

I'm glad cute little Henry's rash is getting better! I thought of you Saturday morning when Ryan woke up with a rash ALL over body! UGH! We were about to have a house full of people to make it even better! I quick ran him off to the local urgent care doctor thinking god forbid it was something contagious! It was allergic, but now we have to figure out what it was from! The doctor was leaning toward a food allergy! UGH again! Luckily the rash has pretty much gone away now and Ryan has stopped trying to pull it off!! Isn't being a mom interesting?! ;)

Hey Brook!

I'm finally caught back up from missing 12 plus pages of your PTR!!:scared1: First, I hope Henry is mostly healed by now. Secondly, wow, when you left such a large space between your doctor's appointment announcement and Henry's update, I really did think you might be pregnant! But you tricked us good with that one, I know I wasn't the only one thinking that!:rolleyes1 Third, wow, that's one big boot! I am glad your doctor is sympathetic to the cause, and I and am glad that you'll be healed, because you only have 44 more days!!!!:banana::yay: I am thoroughly jealous! I still have 125 days, perhaps I should start that PTR now???:rotfl2: Your to do lists look great, I think that you are ready!:woohoo:

He was trying to pull the rash off? Oh my! That is kinda funny in a way (now that it's over), but would be awful in the midst of it! Especially with company on their way over. It naturally has to happen then, doesn't it?

I'm so sorry to hear they think it's a food allergy though! I hope he grows out of it and it's very minor. :sad2:

I have to agree, seeing the Castle right before you are cruelly shoved into the real world is a wonderful. I regretted not doing that in May but LOVED it last September. :cloud9:

It just adds a little magic to that day!!

Hi there!! Glad you were able to catch up. :goodvibes

The boot is HUGE. And annoying. I think I might start a boot ticker to when I can take it off. Really, it's that bad! :headache: But, I have to look on the good side, if it means a healed foot for WDW, I'm all about it!

125 days? OH YA, start that PTR!!!! I still have more than that for NYE and I started this PTR ages ago.

OK, I'm having brain freeze today. What is BLT?

Bay Lake Tower.:)

Thanks Jordan!

It's also a very yummy sammich. I prefer mine with honey mustard instead of mayo. ;)

I like the whole allowing Henry to be your alarm clock. Allowing him to sleep his natural sleep cycle may help him with stamina during the day:thumbsup2

It really does! And he does so much better when he gets at least a bit of a nap in. He used to wake up later in the morning, around 9:00 some days, but he's on a 7:00/7:15 kick now, so I think we shouldn't have any trouble making RD!

Instead of counting sheep at night, I count the different ways to tour Disney World. Then again some nights I can't sleep worrying about ADR.

I worry about my ADRs too. This trip not so much since we are just doing two, but I often compare the various deals out and try to really figure out if we are getting the best deal. Let me tell you, number crunching while falling asleep is not wise!

Your plan for Sept. looks great!! I love ending our trip with MK. Have to say bye to Mickey & the castle before going home. It is great that you have some time to just go with the flow. Glad to hear Henry is getting better:thumbsup2

Exactly, gotta get that one last glimpse to take home with me!

I'm glad Henry is getting better - get rid of that icky stuff!!

Good plans so far! I like the idea of seeing the castle one more time before you go. :cool1: I see you got the corn dog nuggets early on in the trip - will you be re-visiting them as well on the last day? :rotfl:

:rotfl2: Oh perhaps...:scratchin

I actually hadn't even thought about that, but lady, I likes how you thinks!

Ooooh, I like this idea. :woohoo: That deck/patio was a nice spot and I bet the view is superb! I'm glad to hear a good review on the CS too, I really want it, and Cap'n Cooks at the Poly.

Great boot ticker! :lmao: It says 16 days now already! Hope those will pass quickly! :goodvibes

I like the idea of the CR CS. I have looked at their menu and it sounds very good. We never managed to eat at Captain Cooks when we stayed at the Poly, only breakfast. But I really did not like the layout. However I once got a snack of their chips. Those were delicious, they are freshly made potato, sweet potato and a third thing which I forgot what it was. Perhaps K and I need to do some resort exploring for out lunches...

Thanks! I hope the days pass quickly too...! 16 and counting...!

I've only walked through CC at the Poly and I agree, the layout seemed really strange and disjointed. It seemed cramped. However, it is those chips, along with a Dole Whip for dessert, that I'm mostly seeking after!

The menu at the CR looks really nice-plus, I know Joe would like to order off their touch screen menu ordering system. He's a nerd (but I think it's really cool too!). ;)

I fell asleep last night thinking about that, and it sure did seem LOVELY in my dreams. :cloud9:

You've been through The Boot, eh? It wouldn't be so bad if it didn't make my entire body sore from walking around with it on. However, I am fairly certain I will have Buns of Steel by the end of this! ;)

Love the new boot ticker! I saw it over on Jenjolt's PTR and about died laughing!

Glad I could provide a good laugh!!! I need to put humor in the situation to make it more bearable. Yesterday at work I walked around a bit like the Hunchback and drug my foot behind me...

Unfortunately, I just feel more and more sore each day! My legs that is, not my foot with the injury (thankfully!). We went to the Mall of America on Saturday and I think that was a big mistake. Way too much walking. I've been taking it easier here in the evenings, so hopefully that will help!

1. I'm so Glad Henry's feeling better! I hope the rest of his spots and blisters go away soon :goodvibes:

2. I love your hair!! I always had chin-length hair growing up and I wish I had the courage to chop it all off again. I always thought short hair looked really cool and indie :thumbsup2

3. I hope your foot feels better soon. My brother has avascular necrosis in his toe (where the blood supply to the toe is cut off from a tiny cyst or fracture) and was in a lot of pain for a while. He was in that boot for two months, and I can't even imagine having to chase a toddler around in it. That thing was a clunky pain in the you-know-what. He was afraid he'd have to go to Florida with it but luckily things are getting better and he was finally able to stop wearing it two weeks ago. I hope you're done with it soon!

4. The plans look great! Have you ever watched the fireworks from the Poly beach before? I know I probably sound like a broken record about this now, but you have to do it! We watched them in 2007 and now have to on every trip... sitting on a hammock or lounge chair in the middle of that tropical beach, away from the crowds, with the breeze softly swaying the palm trees and the castle changing colors in the distance... it's some serious magic! If you have a chance, watch those fireworks!

I'm interested in where you choose to eat besides Sci Fi while you're in DHS. We're aiming for Sci Fi for lunch but none of the CS options jump out at me for dinner. Can't wait to hear where you ate and what you thought.

You can see them from the Cali Grille (but, you gotta eat there too)...and I would imagine from the front of the hotel, but that might be about it. Their beach isn't facing the Castle....

2. And thank you on the hair! It was a bit of a leap, I haven't had pixie short hair since the 5th grade! But each day I like it more!

3. That is awful about your brother! TWO MONTHS! :headache: The poor guy! Ugh. I am very happy to read he won't have to wear it in FL. I hope the same for me!!!!!!

4. I haven't seen Wishes from the Poly beach-I read SO many good things about it! I have really wanted to fit this in on every trip and so far it hasn't worked out. The plan for NYE is to watch them from the Poly beach too!

We ate at Studio Catering Company for a quick meal in January, we had the the baked chicken/rice/beans meal and it was really good! I would get that again without question. Backlot Express seems to get a lot of good reviews. We'll eat at one of those places for dinner if we are still in the park...I'll be sure to post a good review of whichever we end up at!

I am missing SO many people just just a bit of time! :sad2: Hopefully our paths will cross another time so we can meet up!

Henry is a REALLY good sleeper, so he usually wakes up at home around 7:15 or so - in WDW since we are all more exhausted, it's more like 7:30, 7:45 (at least that is what it has been the past 2 trips) - so those are our sleeping in days. :goodvibes The more I think about it, the more I realize we shouldn't have ANY problem making RD at 9:00 each day. Unless we purposely take it really slow...which we tend to do!

I am really looking forward to CP! Henry often bounces when he sees Tigger, so I hope he does at CP, it would be so cute!

Thank you for the plug on your PTR! I don't always notice peoples siggys! I opened it up...I will probably have some time to read tonight, I'm about to head out to work now.

How many plans do you write up? Well let’s see….12 years of planning, 3 cancelled trips, a dozen cast member changes, attractions being built and then replaced in the interim, divided by number to Trip Reports read and multiplied by the square of the ADR’s, carry the one, and I’d have to say, more than I can count.

Or is that just me? Nope

Wake up in WDW!! Isn’t that fun to think about?!

Allow Henry to be our alarm clock Excellent Call!

MK for Spectro and/or Wishes. This calls for a long day; so this might not happen today-option for "Free Evening" belowI’m all about options.

(CS - CASEY'S! hello my pretty corn dog nuggets!) They shall be yours!

Brook will be up for RD! Woohoo!

We'll roll with it this night.Rolling is good!

I really like the idea of seeing the Castle as the last thing before getting shoved back into the real world by the unMagical Express. ;) I liked it, First Lady Biscuit did not. She said it was too hard to leave the park early to go the airport. I guess it depends on how early you get there and how early the plane leaves.

We will see - I just have these as ideas, we are going to "go with the flow"! Going with the flow sounds like they way to go!

Your plans sound mighty nifty! Can’t wait to see how it all comes together!

I can under stand First Lady Biscuit's point of view with rushing in and then out of the park. But, even if we don't ride anything-just soaking it up one last time.....ahhhh.

Here's a random information update for ya'll....

Yes, I'm from the Midwest, lived in NYC, and say ya'll.

First, haircut:
As you all know, I chopped my hair. I had thought about getting it cut very short for a few days and then took the plunge! I'm pretty much "whatever" with my hair and willing to take risks. I figured it would be easier than my past hairstyle, and I was right! This one is wet, comb, put a couple pins in, let air dry (doesn't take long), then a bit of hair spray, done!

http://brookelizabeth.smugmug.com/photos/599808362_zow2q-M.jpg
Sorry about my shirt riding up in the back! I wanted Joe to do a re-do, but as you can tell, Henry was NOT into getting his picture taken that day...

http://brookelizabeth.smugmug.com/photos/599807559_ojwH3-M.jpg

Second, clothes!
I have been shopping around the discount racks for cheap Disney themed shirts for Henry and I. I refuse to pay a lot when Henry is just going to grow out of them within a few months! And for me, well...I'm a little more lenient on the price, but I'm pretty cheap! (a dollar saved today, is another dollar for a trip, right?!) Joe is kinda "eh" on the Disney shirt thing, and very picky-so I don't bother to try anymore!

For Henry...
http://brookelizabeth.smugmug.com/photos/599807584_HM7Lm-M.jpg
The Wall-E shirt he got from his Grammy and Poppa a while back. He has worn it once, I washed it and he's wearing it again today. It must have shrunk or my child grew a LOT within the past few weeks because it barely covers his belly now! :sad2: So, I might be on the lookout for a new Wall-E shirt...

http://brookelizabeth.smugmug.com/photos/599807588_oonXU-M.jpg
He LOVES this hat. It's from Grammy and Poppa as well.

http://brookelizabeth.smugmug.com/photos/599807542_KnTTp-M.jpg
This shirt is from another DISer, DisneyBride'03. It has come with us on every trip since! It's a 3yr size, so it better still fit by September! ;)

And I also got 2 shirts for myself. We made a recent trip to the Mall of America and our first stop was the Disney Store! We purchased the shirts for me, 3 sippy cups for Henry and 2 dye-cast cars from the movie Cars. He was given one of the Cars (Luigi) at the Mall that day and the other will be a birthday gift (Tow Mater).

We made the mistake of allowing Henry to pick out the two Cars. In the past we have done this and simply distracted him onto another bright shiny object while we hid away the gift. Not so easy to do anymore! :rotfl: Thankfully between Luigi and one of the sippy cups, we were able to distract him and he forgot about Tow Mater. The next morning he saw the Disney Store bag in our bedroom and it all started again... I was able to distract him again, and now I think he has forgotten.

I think. Oh, the lessons you learn as a new Mommy, eh?!

I thought I had taken pictures of my shirts...but I did not. So, these are from DisneyStore.com. I really shouldn't have gone there...they have so many cute things! :rolleyes1

Walking around the Mall of America with a giant boot on your leg is not advisable. I ended up parked on a bench for quite some time people watching. I took this, thinking of LL!

And finally, a bag update!
I thought I was all set with my black Baggalini that has faithfully served me now since mid-2006. I truly LOVE this bag! It works perfectly for us on WDW trips, and has served as my normal day purse off and on since 2006. I find it very useful with how much stuff I have to carry with having a toddler.

Enter bagsbuy.com gift certificate from work.

Hmmmm....what to buy? I searched around on the site for quite a while and nothing really jumped out at me. I really love purses, but nothing was clicking.

The more I thought about it, the more I realized I wanted another Baggalini. My black one is starting to show some wear, plus it's black. Kinda plain. Functional, but plain. I like loud things. ;)

So.....here is Henry modeling my new bag. He is all ready for the trip. Mickey Mouse outfit, Crocs, Lime Green Baggalini, and a sun hat!

He was being so silly with his hat...I'm glad he likes it!

Some close-ups of the bag:
http://brookelizabeth.smugmug.com/photos/599803453_buKqr-M.jpg
The key fab dealy is new and improved. On my black bag the key fab dealy broke. I'm very glad they changed the design!

http://brookelizabeth.smugmug.com/photos/599803473_zHnCK-M.jpg
The silver brand label is different as well...previously it was just a black tag with white letters. Otherwise, the bag is identical!

Coming up at some point in the near future...park lists and a souvie list!

41 days!

I love the shirts you have for Henry and the ones you got yourself. Very cute. The "I love Mom" with Mickey head is my fav.
That bag is also nice and spiffy. I may look into one of those for our next trip...whenever that may be:sad2:
I'll just have to live through yours right now...41 days is so close!!! I know you are excited.

I'd also love to go to the Mall of America some day. Is that right where you live? It looks awsome:thumbsup2

She got that shirt at the Disney Store a few years back a bit after Valentine's Day (so it was discounted). :thumbsup2 Isn't it adorable? I would love to make a shirt for me that says "MOM" with the O as Mickey's head to match.

I really like the Baggalini. There are mixed reviews out there, but it works perfectly for us! I think BagsBuy.com has free returns if you don't like something, so it's nice that there isn't a risk/waste of money.

The Mall of America is a bit over an hour away, in a suburb of Minneapolis. It's kind of a quick default spot for us when we have several stores to hit. Plus, it has restaurants, the indoor theme park and there is always something going on. Lately we have been ending up there for one reason or another every couple months it seems.

Joe made a YouTube video of our time at the theme park in case you are interested: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pDQijI3hl7k Henry was so tired (very short nap!), and amazed by it all. :goodvibes

Love the Lime Green Baggallini! Mine is blue, I've been thinking I need another color one of these days...

BTW - thanks to your thread I bought Mushies! And I love them! I had a $10 gift certificate for DSW shoes. Went to the store last Saturday without anything in mind -just browsing. Didn't really see anything I needed that was on sale enough for me to buy it (even with the $10 off). I almost left, with my $10 gift certificate that was going to expire two days later. It killed me not to use it. Just before I walked out the door I saw the display of Mushies. Only $23.99, and with my $10 off, only $13.99. I figured, what the heck, lots of people on Brooke's thread seem to like them. I've had them for almost a week and I've worn nothing else! :thumbsup2

Mall of America--just how big is that place anyway? Does it get unbearably crowded during the holiday season?

Yes, I'm from the Midwest, lived in NYC, and say ya'll.:darth: You have been turned to the dark side! BWA-HA-HA-HA-HA!

Walking around the Mall of America with a giant boot on your leg is not advisable. Walking around there with two good legs is no minor accomplishment. That place is MASSIVE! The only way I can make it is through the healing power of Famous Dave's ribs.

Nice updates Maybe the lime green will attract fellow DISers. I din't have much luck spotting anyone at the parks. BUT it was so stinking crowded, I spent most of my time watching the girls and making sure they ddin't get lost in the shuffle.

Great stuff!! Ryan had that red I mickey mom shirt for our 08 trip! Too cute!

I bought Ryan the same Lightening McQueen hat at wal-mart! Too cute and he loves it!

I also love your new baggalini! I love the color!! I too love loud things :rotfl2::confused3 I used to have a pink one and I gave it to my sister!! I've been seriously considering getting a new one! But I cant decide! I gave it away because there wasn't enough room for all the stuff I needed for 2 little ones during our 06 trip! But with the older 2 being, well older and not needing as much gear, and Ryan hopefully being potty trained or close to it by January I may not need a giant pack-mule knapsack for our trip! We'll see!

She would watch that over and over and say "whos that". She loves this new video too and let me just say Henry is so cute--you could just eat him up!! Love the light picture. I've always wanted to go to the Mall of America.

I know it! He grows up right before my eyes. It's exciting and sad all at the same time. He will be TWO in 40 days. Sigh.

That entire area of the mall is covered with those lights, they are strung across the ceiling so it feels like you are in an outdoor courtyard or something. It's really pretty!

The Mall is a fun place. I still remember my first trip. The theme park used to be called Camp Snoopy and they had a GIANT blow up Snoopy you could jump in. I thought that was soooooo neat. It's been interesting too to see the changes it's had over the years. If you ever have a layover in Minnesota for some reason, it's literally across the street from the airport, you can take the lightrail. And PM me, I'll meet you there!

Shopping for WDW supplies whether clothes, travel size goodies, new luggage..is always fun!

Mall of America--just how big is that place anyway? Does it get unbearably crowded during the holiday season?

The Mall is REALLY big. I'm used to it now, but it is 4 levels and each level is probably a mile, kind of forming a square. There are many restaurants, a movie theater with I think 18 screens, 2 food courts, an aquarium, a mini golf course and the indoor amusement park. It has almost any store you are looking for and then some. Several stores that only sell socks. At least one that only sells swimwear. One that sells magnets. At least one selling Minnesota gear. 4 big boxes on each corner and everything else in between. The 4th floor used to be bars and nightclubs, but they banned smoking indoors in MN, so now it's fairly empty up there. We only made it to the 3rd floor this trip, so I haven't a clue if they have started doing anything new there yet or not...?

It's a really cool site to see - exhausting but fun!!

:darth: You have been turned to the dark side! BWA-HA-HA-HA-HA!

Oooh Famous Dave's. Oh yes. Joe kept hinting at eating at Famous Dave's while we were there, but I just wasn't in the mood for it. We ended up eating just at a food court for lunch, and then outside of the mall for dinner. I LOVE me some Famous Dave's though. Thankfully they sell the "Sweet & Sassy" sauce on the grocery store shelves around here. It is regularly stocked in our fridge. ::yes::

I do hope the LIME attracts other DISers. I'll still wear my LGMH's too. I only ran into one or two other DISers on my past couple trips (that weren't planned), and I knew a bunch of them were going! :confused3

I really liked that pink one! I was debating between lime, pink, and orange. I would have probably ended up with orange if it weren't for the DIS.

Your pack-mule comment gave me a GREAT visual. :lmao: I imagined you with a giant backpack, pushing a triple wide stroller that was full of stuff under and poking out of every side....! I'm sure it felt that way!!!

Loved the update and video! Henry's getting so grown-up!

That is so sweet about your DD!!!! :cutie:

One part with the train that I missed taping was the employee "talking" to Henry. He was grinning up at her and then did the "choo choo" hand motion of pulling the whistle cord and she just laughed. Then he blew her a kiss. It was so adorable! I wish I would have had the camera going.... When the voice started talking on the train Henry got so excited and kept looking around as if he was saying "Where is that voice coming from!" :rotfl2: Oh, so fun! Glad you are enjoying the Mushies! I really like mine too and miss wearing them. With The Boot I can only wear a few different pairs of shoes I own, the others are too flat.

2 more weeks, 2 more weeks! :goodvibes

I love all the pockets, my favorite is the cell phone pocket on the strap that goes across your chest. So convenient! I don't have the problem of it pulling my shoulder or making my back ache like some people have reported-and we put quite a bit of stuff in there! I do believe BagsBuy (and possibly eBags) both have free return shipping if you discover you don't like it...so you really having nothing to loose!!! ::yes::

Hi,
I just found your PTR - I loved your last TR though - I lurked there a lot and I think I may have posted a few times. :goodvibes

Your hair looks so cute! I had my hair really short a few years ago and I loved it - it is so easy, but so stylish IMO. The curls make your hair even cuter in that style too.

I can't believe how big your Henry is getting - they grow up way too fast.

We love ZeFronk around here too, but I think Teach my Alligator some manners is actually my favorite - that tune is just so catchy.

Don't look at DisneyStore.com!!! Trust me! So many cute things and sales!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :scared:

I can't believe that outfit still fits him, but I love that it does! It's getting really close though where the shirt rides up just enough to see his belly. Maybe just one or two more wears out of it. I've already decided in my mind if we find another cute outfit while in WDW, I just might have to buy it. ;)

I've heard that about the Baggalini from a few different people - so you aren't alone in it tugging on your neck. I don't know if it just fits more comfortably on a certain body type, or what...:confused3

I can't believe we are at 40 days!! In just 10 days we can start the countdown calendar! :yay:

And thank you for the kind words on the hair! It is really easy...and I actually (usually) like how my curl enhances parts of it, so far its a keeper style for a while!

I love the Alligator too, and find myself singing it all day if we catch it in the morning! :rotfl: Lately we have been seeing Agent Oso, so that song gets stuck in my head, and I DON'T like it! But, Henry loves his motorcycle, so we watch. :goodvibes

Brook-you should so get Henry's haircut at the barbershop...great photo/ops and memories (I would have loved to get David's haircut there but the first time he was only 6 months and he didn't have enough hair yet...:confused3 and he needed a haircut before we were back...) DO IT!:goodvibes

The Mall of America-wow-that seems like a place you can really get in trouble-$$$-DD would love it...(Henry looks like he may be a future Lego guy...;)

Children's clothes really to add up and they grow through them-I sometimes buy up a size (for D) especially in the summer so he walks around with a little bit of a "surfer" kind of look-but it works on a little guy...;)

? about your bagganlini-does that fold up at all-the reason I'm asking is I have a large structured tote that I want to take on the plane-but if I could fold it up I could take it in the park...(i need something that can get smaller to back...)

Congrats for reaching the 30s!!!!:cheer2: )We're in the 20s but I'm in denial...

It really is a bit overwhelming - even still to me now and I've been there countless times. Did you do any of the rides or anything fun while there, or did you just try to take it all in?

Yeah, we went in 2002 when they had the Camp Snoopy stuff there. I think we did a couple rides including one sort of like Buzz Lightyear. It was fun!

My cousin went to UM and I think she worked at the mall too.

OMG! That's soooooo me!

Congrats on 30 days!! You must be so excited!! Im jealous!

:lmao: Taking kids anywhere feels quite pack-mule-esque, doesn't it?

I am VERY excited about finally being in the 30s. Today marks 38!

WOOT...can't wait for your countdown...that is so much fun!!!!!!

It always feels so good to get into that last 30 days and have a real countdown. I have the countdown all ready, but I need to hit the Dollar Store (again!) for some stickers....

Hurray for the 30s!!! That's so awesome!!! party: party: party:

Thanks CP! I'm thrilled to reach them! Soon I'll be able to say 20s and shortly after start playing the "In two weeks..." game! :yay:

:thumbsup2 I am one that tends to be more on the sedate side..........;)

Right. Uh-huh. Sedate. That's it.

Congratulations on the 39 days! That's 136 days less than us - and considering that you will have been to WDW twice before we get to go, I am envious!! :goodvibes

I really love the updates with new Henry pictures! He is soo cute!

I love this idea! I think it would make a nice family tradition! :thumbsup2

The Barber Shop did such a great job with him last time, it was such a special moment and I think a lot of fun for him with the stickers, bubbles and toys they have. When he's a bit older I hope he and Joe can go together and get colored hair gel and a spiked 'do (the "Cool Dude" package from BBB, but it's cheaper at the Barber Shop!).

We loved the time we had with Henry for hist first haircut there! They do a really nice job. I think you guys have me convinced to let it grow out before the trip...maybe we could even squeeze that in on our first day. Hmmm....I sense a The Plan 1.3 coming up!

The Mall of America can be very dangerous, and I imagine it IS to those who come from out of state. Every cuisine, every shop just waiting for you!

The Baggalini doesn't really fold up, but you can easily fold it in half to help save space. That would be a great feature though-if it could be one of those that zipped inside of itself! When folded in half it really isn't all that small still, and then long strap that goes across your body is still there-you can kinda wrap it around the bag part though. If that makes any sense/helps you! ;)

Why are you denial about the 20s? Still a lot to get done?

Yeah, we went in 2002 when they had the Camp Snoopy stuff there. I think we did a couple rides including one sort of like Buzz Lightyear. It was fun!

My cousin went to UM and I think she worked at the mall too.

I am amazed at how much it has changed over recent years. They have added SO many rides-lots of thrill ones even!! We will be doing Henry's birthday party there, so I'll hopefully have NO BOOT and take some time to enjoy them!

I've been list making. In almost any spare moment, on any random scrap of paper I might have at my disposal. I guarantee you, something trip related has been written on it! Eats, packing, touring, souvies, or rides.

Today I bring to you our Ride List. The "MUST RIDE" are ones that I would be highly disappointed if we missed.

The "WOULD LIKE TO" are ones I really want to do, but would only be slightly bummed. The list here is extensive. We most likely won't get to all of them, and that's okay.

The "IF THERE IS TIME" are things we like, but aren't top priority, if they work into the plan, great, if not, all well.

And the "SHOPPING" is quite obvious... I'm sure we'll hit up more than what is on these lists though, it's a default activity with a sleeping child, or while utilizing a Baby Swap Pass.

So, without further ado...The Rides!

MUST RIDE - AK

EE
Boneyard - Henry LOVES this playground and I can see why, it's really cool!

WOULD LIKE TO - AK

Nemo
Dinosaur
Triceratops Spin
Conservation Station - requires a train ride to get to, big deal for my little boy!
Affection Section - basically a petting zoo - Henry will love this!

IF THERE IS TIME - AK

Primeval Whirl - I kinda like this ride!
Flights of Wonder - I have never even read a review of it, has anyone ever gone? What did you think?

SHOPPING - AK

Creature ComfortsDiscovery Island - from what I can tell on AllEars.net they sell kids clothing, hopefully some good options for little boys!

MUST RIDE - DHS

Playhouse Disney Live!
Rock 'n' Roller Coaster
Toy Story Midway Mania

WOULD LIKE TO - DHS

Beauty and the Beast

Muppet Vision 3D - Joe and I both really like this show; however, Henry did NOT last time, he was screaming the entireeeeeeee show. So, we'll probably try a 3D show toward the beginning of the trip and if he reacts the same, we'll skip the rest!

SHOPPING - DHS

Animation Gallery - such a cool store!

hey Brooke, I'm loving your PTR as much as your TR. I'm so inspired by how you guys just take it easy, and go with the flow. I'm determined to do just that on our upcoming trip in Oct. It will be the first "going on rides" trip for our toddler. In fact i'm so gald you posted a must do list, I've gotten a lot of ideas for park touring from it.

You asked for opinions on Flights of Wonder in AK. It is a must do for my husband every trip. The show is really cute, and they bring out lots of cool birds that do tricks or little conditioned behaviors they've worked into the script. If Henry likes birds and/or animal shows I think he'll like it. I'm pretty sure mine will like it, if not his dad will be crushed.

What a list! At least you know that you will return soon to get to the things you missed!!

The Flights of Wonders is really a neat show. It is amazing to see all these different birds. The show is a bit cheesy, but I found it highly amusing. It's definitely something I would love to do again, so worth a visit! It is an open air theater, I don't know how much shadow there is. But don't sit in the back, the birds fly very close over the heads of those sitting all the way to the back!!

If you never did the animal trails at AK, you really must try to do them, they are beautiful! I think they are one of the reasons why I love AK so much. They are actually nothing different from a zoo, but they are themed so cleverly that you think you are actually in a nature park in Africa or Asia. Incredible!!

We really enjoyed Flights of Wonder on our last trip. It's not a must do every trip for us, but we definitely enjoy seeing it every few years!

A great list Brook for the rides! It's funny how when a trip is coming up soon how everything you think about is Disney! I am the same way with the lists and writing down on anything I can. I can't believe your trip is coming up so soon! It is too cute that Henry knows the train and Riverboat are at Mickey's House. How is your foot doing?

Can I make a suggestion for 3d shows? I don't know it'll work with your plans but I'll offer my 2 cents.

I hate 3d shows. At 24 I refuse to do It's Tough to be a Bug & Honey I Shrunk the Audience. I love Philharmagic & Muppets though, they're a lot more friendly. I'd definitely start with Philharmagic or Muppets (Philharmagic is a little more friendly IMO.)

Boneyard - Henry LOVES this playground and I can see why, it's really cool!

Oh yes, a little boy's paradise!

FOTLK - This is almost a "MUST RIDE" for me, I've been wanting to catch it for the past 2 trips and have missed it!

Definitely a must-see for me!! :thumbsup2

Conservation Station - requires a train ride to get to, big deal for my little boy!
Affection Section - basically a petting zoo - Henry will love this!

Henry will adore this!

Flights of Wonder - I have never even read a review of it, has anyone ever gone? What did you think?

We've seen it twice... nice, "B-list" show, IMHO. Afterwards the CMs let you come to the stage and meet some of the birds, so you may like that.

Playhouse Disney Live!

Of course!

Toy Story Midway Mania

We're really, really looking forward to this, too!

Lights, Motors, Action - I know Henry would like the cars, I'm just a bit concerned he might get scared from the crashing and fire...

Billy doesn't "do" fire, either, so we sit in the upper back section. I think the overall view is actually better from here, plus, they show close-up video on a big screen just like at concerts.

Muppet Vision 3D - Joe and I both really like this show; however, Henry did NOT last time, he was screaming the entireeeeeeee show.

[SIZE="3"]He doesn't have to wear the glasses if he doesn't want to...

Gran Fiesta Tour - [I]never done it! Henry loves "Dut Dut", so I think he'll really enjoy this.

Gotta see Dut-Dut... and maybe you will meet him outside!! :yay:

Mouse Gears - everything and everything!

 I hear ya!!

Hall of Presidents - I'm VERY excited about this with the refurb!

You and Billy both!! I'm sure we'll be seeing it multiple times!

Liberty Square Riverboat - Henry has a book with boats in it. One is a Riverboat that looks JUST like the Liberty Belle. So, I told him one of these were at Mickey's House, and he makes sure to remind me every.single.time we read the book, so it's a must do! :goodvibes Plus, we've never been on it!

It's such a relaxing ride... perfect for mid-afternoon!

Pooh

Yay Pooh-Bear!! pooh:

Walt Disney World Railroad - "CHOO CHOO!" Henry LOVES trains and we've been watching them on YouTube lately. He is very aware these are at Mickey's House as well!

Gotta do the choo-choo!

Enchanted Tiki Room Under New Management - never done

**Just be warned... there is a dark, loud, potentially scary part when the Tiki gods get angry... thunder and lightning and yelling...

Tom Sawyer Island - I can imagine Henry running all over the place and LOVING it!

I can, too! :goodvibes

It's a pipe dream to get to everything, but we'll try!!!!!! :goodvibes

Great list! It's so much fun to dream about the trip, isn't it? :cloud9:

I'd think Henry would like the Backlot tour. It has boats, planes, cars and a truck in catastrophe canyon. :thumbsup2

Your lists look great!

Flights of Wonder is an interesting show. I like to see it once during each vacation if only to get a glimpse of the Bald Eagle--so majestic and beautiful.

When traveling with a toddler/preschooler, I think these lists are invaluable. When you are working with a short list of must dos it really helps you prioritize before the next meltdown comes. Plus, you know you accomplished everything you wanted and there is always another trip to hit the rest!
