Great update girl:thumbsup2

You and Becca are a riot :rotfl2:

Love that Chris corrected the CM...:rotfl:

Have to stop at Toy Story Planet sometime. Always afraid to go in there. I doubt if we go in there, we could eat in peace as I am sure Trent would want to play games in there. ;)

Did you go in arcade? If so, were there a lot of games in there ?

Yay for the boys going to replace your tire...and love tire warranties..they are great :woohoo:

Your pics so far of Topiary are beautiful....Been during F&G Festival twice now and love it

thanks girl!

yeah....we are goofs! :thumbsup2

It was an off time when we went so not quite as bad as it was the first year we stopped in there. Was a MAD house. Just try and hit it right after it opens or when it's not lunch/dinner time. The games looked really cool! they even have an arcade Guitar Hero game.

Yes they are great. I have never had a tire warranty until this set of tires (my dad doesn't believe in that stuff but since I bought this set I got what i wanted AND the warranty!) and I'm glad I did get the warranty. Would have been out $125 for the tire itself not to mention the labor if I had not had the warranty.

Oh yeah I think it's one of my favorite things they do at EPCOT for sure!

:rotfl: well I guess that's a good reason to faint then. Better than fainting because it was so expensive.

You girls are so crazy!:lmao:

Glad Chris corrected the CM. He wanted to be wished Happy Anniversary too! How cute is that??:rotfl:

As you know, we took the kids to Pizza Planet last year, too. They had a great time in there. I, however, got bored and couldn't wait to leave. I'm with you in that I hate crowded counter service restaurants. Sounds like it was pretty crazy in there.

Do you have AAA? I'm pretty sure they would have fixed that tire for you for free. But still, $33 isn't bad. Good thing you had that warranty.

Those topiary pics are great. Kinda makes me want to go back. But I SWEAR we're just going to Universal Studios. I will not be conned into going to WDW.:scared:

Great update! :thumbsup2

The F&G show looked cool. I was going to take a topiary class when I was there in 2005. But even it was a 10 days stay, I just couldn't find the time for the class. The best part, I didn't even have to pay for it. It was part of the premium package. So instead, we did the KTTK tour and parasailing 3 times.

I never got a chance to ride the TSM. It gets crowded so fast. Everytime we want to try, it's 120 minutes wait and no more FP.

hehe I'll take that as a compliment.

Yeah he was pretty cute about it. It was really funny.

Ah yeah I remember you guys went there. It really can be a mad house in there but like I said, if you go on an "off" time during the day it's not as bad. Still crowded but not *** awful as prime time for lunch or dinner.

No we don't have AAA. I keep considering it but we don't do enough traveling or anything for it to be too beneficial to us.

 It's so hard not to go to WDW when you're in Orlando. ARe you guys at least going to hit DTD?

Oh I had no idea they did a topiary class at EPCOT. That's really neat! Chris and I did the KTTK tour in 2003 for our Honeymoon and loved it! That's awesome that you got that deluxe package and did all those really fun and awesome things! I hope to be able to do the Segway tour at EPCOT at some point. Have you done that?

Oh man, well on your next trip as soon as you get into the park go straight to TSM and get your FP's first thing. You gotta ride it at least once. It's so fun!

Oh, we're for suregoing to DTD. I just ordered a gift card for Rainforest Cafe off Mypoints, so hopefully it will come in time for us to go there. And the kids want to go to Planet Hollywood again. I'd really like to see what that dinosaur restaurant is like. And I'm sure we'll do some shopping. I don't know about Disney Quest. We still have our no expiration option on last year's tickets that will get us in there, but I can't stand that place for longer than like an hour. And I can't see paying, what is it? 40? for joe to get in there too when we don't really do anything.

I always put off getting AAA too. But I gave in a couple of years ago. I do a lot of driving for work so it is probably a good idea. AND, I ended up in a ditch on the side of the road one winter; it would have been beneficial then. Honestly, with the hotel discounts and the discount we get for the ice rink, it has already paid for itself.

I didn't realize you had the no expiration option. I think if you have the time for it, you should go to DQ. You'd be paying $30 or so (I believe) for Joe to get in but you can look at it as paying only $30 for your whole group to get in. Has Joe ever been in there?

heh yeah I would never to to WDW in June either but Cheri's right. US is going to be slammed too. :scared1:

And I also agree with Cheri over thinking of paying for Joe as paying $30 for the whole group to get in since you have the no expire tix from the last time. :thumbsup2 Glad AAA is working out for you. I wish we did travel more so I had an excuse to get it. The only place we go to is Orlando really and I don't think we'll be doing that as often anymore if Becca and James move up here. We'll still probably go once a year but not for little weekends like we have been if they move. :confused3

Good morning all! Sorry I have been awol and not keeping up with my promise for an update over the weekend. It was a little crazy just like the beginning of this week has been but hopefully it's starting to get better/slow down. I'm going to do my best to get the rest of my Mini TR up here before the week is over. There's not a whole lot left really. Pictures from EPCOT mostly.

Love ~ I'm not sure why but I didn't see Buzz and Woody at Pizza Planet. :confused3 I guess I was too busy confusing ppl with my Anniversary button :rotfl:

Marsha ~ thanks for the well wishes on Chris. He is doing well. He was doped up on Loratab all weekend so that was interesting. He said the pressure in his ear is gone so that's good since it was the reason for having the tube put in his ear. :thumbsup2

I hope everyone is doing well and enjoying this warm weather. It actually hit 90 here yesterday :beach: I'm dying to take a trip to the beach!

Hey girl

Any chance of an update this weekend ?

:surfweb:

Perhaps. I gotta get downstairs and get the rest of my pictures uploaded to photobucket. I also need to do some more laundry since we have laundry detergent now and Lexie is not feeling good with this hot spot on her tail (poor baby :sad2:) so I'm trying not to move around too much so she won't move around and be uncomfortable. Every time I move she does too. I try to tell her to stay but she doesn't listen for the most part. And then when she is moving she's scurrying about trying to find a place to get comfortable. It's almost like she's flailing her body around. :sad2: I read online and also was told by Linda that it's best just to let the hot spot dry out so I've stopped putting cortisone cream on it and am letting her be. I'm hoping she gets better as the day wears on.

I thought I had posted this but apparently not. Been working on this post for an hour now :rotfl: anyways, I'm uploading the rest of my EPCOT pictures now. 45 more to go :thumbsup2

If I remember correctly last I left you we were walking into EPCOT while the boys were getting the tire on my car fixed.

I do have a picture of the front of the Universe Of Energy but for some reason I don't have it on photobucket but you all know what it looks like anyways so we finally made it over there at some point. Rebecca has bad vertigo issues so the videos on the huge screen bothered her a bit but she thought the ride was cool non-the-less. By the time we got out of there the boys were on their way back with my fixed car. Yay!!

Anyways, that's about it for now. I gotta go and get some things done around the house now that Chris is home. Hope you all enjoyed the pictures. The next update should be the last one from the parks.

Last year when we went in May they had a great Tinkerbell section with this awesome Croc and Captain Hook. Looking at the croc just made you want to laugh. I'm sorry they didn't do that this year, but the Fairies are wonderful, too. I just miss the croc.

Gosh, I haven't been to UoE in a long time. DD would like the dinosaur section and the boat ride but all the rest would probably bore her too much.

That Stitch topiary is cool!

awww I wish I could have seen the Croc and Captain Hook. I think the reason they didn't do it this year is because of the Tinkerbell movie. They wanted it to focus around that which is understandable.

Well, it's not really a boat ride....It's more of the moving theater type of thing but yeah the video would probably put her to sleep. I always found it interesting as a child because most of the video makes it feel like you're flying which I love. But I'm sure most normal kids would hate it

Yeah the Stitch one was my favorite of course! I just hate the spot they put him in.

Somehow I missed your reply last night Michele. Sorry! Ooooooo please take a picture of the topiary in front of It's a Small World when you go on your trip. I would love to see them! I just love how where you get on that ride is outside there. I think the design of the DLR version of that ride is so much better than the one at WDW. :thumbsup2

Thanks for the compliments on the pic of my tatt with Stitch. Now I just gotta get one of the real Stitch checking out my ink! I love the one on the Disney Tattoo thread where the girl has the tattoo of Snow White with Snow White checking out her ink. :thumbsup2

Next update should be today. While the cat is away the mice will play!

The topiaries are so pretty. I think the fairies were the best.

I think I need to make a trip to WDW during the Flower & Garden Festival. Hm mm...I wonder if DH could handle a weekend alone with the boys. :rolleyes1

http://i146.photobucket.com/albums/r244/leger13/IMG_0915-1.jpg

After we saw our future and emailed ourselves our postcard we decided it was time to head over to MK so off we went back onto the monorail.

Here's some pictures from the front of MK once we got over there.
http://i146.photobucket.com/albums/r244/leger13/IMG_0922.jpg

http://i146.photobucket.com/albums/r244/leger13/IMG_0924-1.jpg

Notice how awfully cloudy it was by then. Once we got into the park Chris proclaimed that he wanted to ride HM so we headed in that direction and by the time we got back there it was already sprinkling (hence the lack of pictures). We got inside w/in 10 minutes and here's the only decent picture I got from the whole ride.
http://i146.photobucket.com/albums/r244/leger13/IMG_0926-1.jpg

Once we got out it was raining harder so we tried to figure out what we should do. Chris really wanted to eat at LTT but everyone was so crowded in there there was no opening until just before the restaurant was supposed to close (which is 9pm). So Chris was pretty bummed and getting wet (he refused a poncho) so we hightailed it over to Fantasy Land. Once we were somewhere around the Pooh ride the sky really opened up so we got in line for Pooh. That took up about 45 min or so and it was still POURING by the time we got out. Since it was so miserable and it was so crowded in the Pooh store we just couldn't stand it and we were all grumpy so we decided to just leave instead of wait around for the rain to stop (which didn't look like it was going to stop any time soon). So we wade our way through the park back to the entrance (yeah, it was pretty flooded...my poor shoes were squishy and chris was DRENCHED!). We decided to take the Ferry back to the parking lot and well, there was a "lake" on the sidewalk to get there. So we walked through that. I swear the water was almost up to my knees!! It was actually kind of fun walking through that much water on land. haha! We finally made it back to the cars and back to the apartment and it was about 8:30 or so by that point. It was so nuts!! I was bummed that we didn't get to stay at the park until midnight like I had originally planned but it's okay since we will be back in November.

Day 3

I can't say I really remember everything that we did on our last full day with Becca and James. And I didn't take any pictures either. I'm thinking we went to DTD and did some more shopping. I think the plan was to go and see Star Trek before dinner at T-Rex but we were too late to get into a show before our early dinner reservations. So we went to eat at the restaurant first and then went to see the movie. T-Rex was really fun. Me and Becca got a few drinks (which were really good btw). I ate the ribs (I'm not sure what chris ate). The ribs were pretty good. I've had better but these were still some of the good ones. After that we went and saw the movie. Becca and James hadn't seen it yet and they seemed to enjoy it. Chris and I loved it the 2nd time around just as much as the first time around. I did get some pictures of T-Rex (the inside) I'm just not sure why they're not on my photobucket. I"ll have to remedy that problem. After we saw the movie it was raining again so we decided to leave. Since our dinner was so early and the movie is pretty long we decided we were hungry again on the drive back to Becca's place so we headed to the Olive Garden. It was ok I guess. Probably one of the worst OG experiences I've ever had. Chris and I spent the rest of the evening with upset tummies.

So there you have it folks. Our Mini Trip to Disney over Memorial weekend. Sorry for the lack of pictures on the 2nd half of this post for Day 3. I don't know what happened to me. Guess there just wasn't a lot to take pictures of. I promise the November TR will be much better but I hope you enjoyed this one non-the-less and now we can get on with planning the trip (the real reason for this report)

And today we decided to add Water Fun & More to our MYW tickets. We have never (yes, I said never) been to either of the disney water parks so I'm pretty excited about this!! We were going to go on last years trip but it was a trip we were trying to cut costs on so that was one of the things that got cut. But it won't be cut this year! Yes!!!! :yay:

I can tell you this, Blizzard beach felt like much more walking than typhoon lagoon. However, BB does have the ski lift to get you up to a certain point so you bypass a lot of the stairs. BUT there's also a line for that. And once you go down a slide, you gotta go back up to get to the other slides, naturally. They have the tallest slide in the world there (at least since I last checked). It goes straight down!

The awesome thing about TL is the Crush N Gusher. It's a coaster slide! And SO MUCH FUN! Also you can snorkle through this little pond sized thing with sharks, fish, stingrays (they are all toward the bottom) and that was really neat. But it was REALLY COLD -- they said they have to keep it that way for the sea creatures.

I'm just not sure how it will be in Nov/December. I hope it will not be too cool.

If you have any specific questions about the water parks, I'm an open book.

Eh, personally I'm not into the water parks at all. But the kids like them, so I usually get the waterpark fun add on. I would be content to just go around and around in the lazy river all day. Those slides are hell on my back though.

I'm not sure how Chris is going to like the sky bucket thing to get to the slides at Blizzard but we'll see. Typhoon might be the way we go. I'd like to go to both but Becca and James will be with us on this day. If James comes (which at this point he's undecided) then if we go to both parks they'll have to pay for him to get in both. Becca gets in for free so if only she goes then we can check out both. Guess we'll see when the time comes. Thanks for the info and I'll probably ask you more questions as our trip gets closer.

:lmao: I'm a little bit hoping this myself. On one hand I want him to go because he probably won't ride many of the slides but me and Becca will. So on the slides Chris doesn't want to do James can wait around with Chris. But on the other hand if he does go (like I said earlier) then we will only be able to try one of the water parks. by the way, you don't HAVE to use the ski lift at BB to get up to the slides. You can huff it up the stairs. Usually we'll take the ski lift once, and use the stairs the rest of the time. Of course, the last time I went to BB was also in JULY(and times before that were in the summer too) when the lines were long--including the line for the ski lift. So that was why we didn't take the lift again.

True true. Yeah, I know it will be cooler than the summer months and I'm thinking less crowded too.

Now I am debating btwn the water parks vs. a Disney tour of some sort (i.e. the segway tour or something along those lines). Which would you prefer to do if it was your vacation?

I'd say the water parks because you haven't been and they are really great. But it's just the outdoor temperature that concerns me.

Is there a way to look up any historical weather conditions for Florida around your dates?

AccuWeather says the typical average high for December is 73 deg. That might be a bit chilly for a day at the water parks even if the water is heated. November says 79 deg. I dunno :confused3 I'm guessing it won't get to the high temp until around 3 or 4pm so burrrrr. I guess I should have looked at the typical weather at that time of year before I started asking questions about the water parks huh? :rotfl:

I also asked Chris about tours vs. water parks and he of course voted for a tour. It will be more expensive but I just want everyone to enjoy themselves and I'm so scared that Chris will be miserable if we go to the water park.

Leger13

ok so now the word is Chris doesn't want to do the water parks or a tour since I can't decide and since the weather is chilly that time of year (fear of getting sick on vacation). :sad2::confused3 I think I might just add on a day at the parks instead. Was going to get a 5 day park hopper.....might just spring for 6 day park hopper.

So, I found my '09 UG in my car!! :woohoo::woohoo:

So now I can tell you my TS restaurant selections for this trip that this report is supposed to be all about. So far it's been about everything but this trip. Sorry y'all!

I'm not sure which day we'll be doing which restaurant yet but here's what we have selected based on reviews and menus.

Also, most of our TS choices are at resorts because I want to see all the Christmas decorations at each and with doing a TS meal at each resort we will be forced to go there instead of having to allot time for this. :thumbsup2

* Beaches & Cream (I'm planning to get the kitchen sink here as a meal so we'll be more inclined to finish it. I have never had one and am determined to get one on this trip!!)

*Boatwright's Dining Hall

* California Grill (I want to try and get reservations for around the time the fireworks at MK will be going off)

*Le Cellier Steakhouse (I'm aware this isn't at a resort but I have never eaten here so this is another place I am determined to check out FINALLY)

* Grand Floridian Cafe

* Kona Cafe (we will be eating here for breakfast with Trentsmom and family for breakfast one morning....the breakfast looks to die for. And we will also be eating here for dinner one night so Becca and I can get a Lapu Lapu....yet another thing I am determined to try on this trip)

I'm thinking we'll go to Beaches & Cream on the day we have our late breakfast with Trentsmom since it will be such an odd food day for us already.

So, thoughts? Comments? Reviews? This will be the first time LTT is not on our list to go to. I have never been to any of these restaurants before so I'm open to anything y'all have to say about each one. CS will be pretty standard and straight forward as will snacks so I'm not worried about that stuff. TS is a different story though. KWIM?

mmm...Beaches and Cream! I SO can't wait to see pics of you and Chris with the Kitchen Sink! 5 of us couldn't finish that on our trip several years ago (but we had also already eaten dinner)

Never been to Boatwrights or Grand Floridian. And I'm not sure about Kona for breakfast. I'll have to check out that menu!

Of course you know Le Cellier gets like a ton of these from me: :thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

and California Grill is a great idea. It was a really nice meal. Just, if y'all decide to do appetizers OOP, don't get the cheese. :rotfl:

It will be me and Chris and Becca and James trying to down that bad boy! I'll take progressional pictures while we're eating to show how we did

Oh yes know you rave about that place and that is the biggest reason why I want to try it. :thumbsup2

:rotfl: well, we aren't getting the dining plan so everything is OOP so I'm sure we won't be paying for things we don't think we'll be eating (we hardly ever do appetizers)

And yes check out the Kona breakfast menu. My mouth waters just reading about it. :thumbsup2 Probably nothing special but I just LOVE pancakes and french toast!!

Do you get a new UG every year?

Love Beaches and Cream. I say nix the Kitchen Sink and go for the No Way Jose. But that's just me. I love peanut butter and chocolate mixed together.

I am one of the crazies that hated Le Cellier. But, as you know, I don't eat red meat. To each his (or her) own here. The thought of a Lapu Lapu just sickens me, too. But I hate pineapple juice. I'm really not all that thrilled with any of Disney's restaurants, to tell the truth. I hope you like them.

I'm freaking out a little bit here, DIS friends!

I only have 37 more days until I can make my ADRs!!! :scared1:

Yes, I'm excited about that but on the other hand my plans have changed so many times over the last few months it's just nuts.

So here's what we have right now. Rebecca and James won't be with us for the entire week. Her Mom will be in town until December 1st so we felt it was best that Becca and James spend their time with Becca's Mom until she heads back home and then that gives me and Chris some time to enjoy our vacation on our own a bit too. So, our dates are still November 28th - December 5th but Becca and James won't be joining in with us until December 1st. They might be joining us in what we don on Nov. 30th as well but I haven't discussed that with them yet.

It seems like Chris and I won't be at the parks as much as we had originally planned. We were going to get a 5 day park hopper plus the MVMCP tickets but as of right now it looks like we are going to spend the first part of our vacation doing other things than Disney (yes, it's allowed ). So now we are only planning on getting the party tickets and a 3 day park hopper. Which is fine with me, really.

Here's the run down:

November 27th (Friday) - Chris drives to Becca and James' house and spends the night there.

November 28th (Saturday) - Chris picks me up from the Orlando airport (I'll be flying down after visiting family in PA for Thanksgiving) and we drive from there down to see my grandparents in Lake Placid and spend the night with them.

November 29th (Sunday) - Drive an hour further south to visit an old childhood friend of mine and her family. Then drive back up to WDW and check into our All Stars.

November 30th (Monday) - Go to Kennedy Space Center. Neither one of us have ever been there before so I'm looking fwd to seeing it up close and personal.

December 1st (Tuesday) - Spend the day at DTD hopefully with my BFF Tiffany and her family so I can meet the newest addition. He should be about 3 months old by then. Then get to MK at 4pm for MVMCP.

December 2nd (Wednesday) - Brunch with Trentmom (aka Sharky) and her family @ Kona and hit a Disney park (probably EPCOT)

December 3rd (Thursday) - Disney park

December 4th (Friday) - Disney park

Now, the delima I'm having is what do I do about dining now? I had planned out meals like we were going to be at Disney the whole time and now we're not. We won't be at Disney the entire day on the 28th. The 29th we can probably have dinner there. Same thing with the 30th. Then everything after December 1st we're at the Disney parks the whole time. Only ideas I have so far are Go to Kona Cafe on December 1st for dinner around 5ish and then hit the monorail over to MK for the Christmas party. We have Brunch plans with Trentmom's family at 10:30 or so at Kona Cafe on December 2nd (that was the day, right Kelly?). I'm thinking that on the day we go to MGM we can hit Boatwright's for a late dinner or something.

I need help here people. I have a few work errands that I have to run for now but I will re-post my resturant selection list again when I get back.

I still think you should try to fit in Le Cellier. So on one of the 2 other park days, (when you hit Epcot obviously) you should get Le Cellier for dinner. (or lunch if you can't get a dinner)

I like the brunch with Trentmom...I'm jealous too! But those are very nice plans.

Are you stressing because you were really hoping to eat at all the places you had picked out and can't decide which ones to cut out on the days you won't be able to eat in 'the World' ?

Hey girl

Guess we will allow you to do a few non disney things if we must ;)

Seriously, your plans look great

I think it will be a fun trip

Can't wait to meet you

The day we were supposed to have brunch at Kona was Dec 3rd.

We arrive on the 2nd and will probably not get to resort until around 3 or so

Maybe on your night at DTD....you could eat at T Rex??

Rest of days, I would eat in parks or one of the monorail resorts...:thumbsup2

If you want to splurge, I highly recommend California Grill or Narcoosee. Both have excellent food, view of the fireworks and water parade and they are just great romantic dinners.

Can't wait to see your list ... I'd definitely make one TS for the days you'll be at Disney ... you can always cancel but at least you'd have something.

I wanted to come back here and make another suggestion. I never got to write about it :guilty: but Mike and I both really enjoyed Raglan Road at DTD. If you decide not to do T-Rex or can't get in, RR would be a really good option.

Oh yes Le Cellier is a MUST. Just like Kona Cafe (gotta get my Lapu Lapu!).

Awww sorry girl! You still need to send me a picture for flat Cheri! You will be there in one way or another

I'm stressing over that and I'm stressing over trying to make my ADR's in a way so that when we go to whatever ADR I've made it won't be a hassle getting to the restaurant because most of my choices were not at the parks. Plus now with the beginning of our trip being totally off Disney property it's gonna be a little interesting.

Okay thanks for clearing that up for me. I wasn't sure.

We ate at T-Rex on our Anniversary in May so I don't really wanna go again so soon. It was good though.

Thanks for the suggestions :thumbsup2

Oh yes California Grill is for sure on my list! Which do you think is better though, California Grill or Narcoosee?? I would love to have a nice romantic dinner with Chris before Becca and James join in on our fun.

And you're right about that. Can always cancel if we decide not to go to whatever restaurant for whatever reason. Thanks for the suggestions. I'll be putting my list up here again in a few. That is, if work allows me to this time.

Raglan Road.....I didn't look at that menu. I'll have to take a peak at it. I don't really want to go back to T-Rex. I actually don't have any restaurant selections for DTD but it'd probably be a good idea to have at least one. Thanks girl!

And here's why:

I just found out that Chris' Grandmother (his Mom's Mom) has stage 4 lung cancer and the Dr.'s have given her a 6 month to 1 year life expectancy w/o treatment. Right now the family is leaning against no treatment because she is so weak and frail right now as it is they just believe that she will pass away faster if they try to put her through all of that. Which I kind of agree with but I also believe that should be Chris' Grandmother's choice. The family (including Chris.....he took off the rest of the day from work) is on their way over to her house right now to tell her the bad news. I wasn't asked to go. I guess it's not my place anyways.

So if prayer is your kind of thing can you please send up a few for Chris' Grandmother and his family? They could really use it right now. It's going to be a long and hard road.

You're right, strength is the only thing that is going to get us through this right now and that's what I'm praying for. As for CG vs Narc...

I have a slight preference for Narcoosee -- it doesn't seem as rushed or as crowded as CG and more romantic; you get to look up at the fireworks from the dock outside and you get to see the Water Parade. If you time it correctly, you'll eat your dinner and then the waiters will let you go outside to watch the fireworks, then you come back inside and eat dessert. It's a whole experience.

However, CG as you know is fabulous, too.

Yeah it did. I still don't think they think of me as family in a lot of ways. This isn't the first time I've been un-involved like this. But, the longer we're married the more I get used to it. We plan on having weekly dinners with her now to spend as much time with her as possible.

Okay, and now for the announcement:

Our vacation dates have changed. We are now going December 4th - December 12th. Why you ask? Well, first of all, we had our dog sitters bail on us (they moved to Texas) and everyone we can think of to ask is unavailable so soon after Thanksgiving. Then, I had planned on going to PA with my parents for Thanksgiving but wanted to fly to Orlando on November 28th, well my Dad didn't hear that part I guess 'cause he has me coming back to Atlanta with them on December 1st and getting a one way ticket to Orlando on a Saturday after Thanksgiving is outrageous!! Then I found out about free dining in December and decided to do some number crunching. It turns out that going the 4th - the 12th instead of what we have now is $64 cheaper!! And we get free dining!! So I'm super excited about that!! :woohoo::woohoo: Chris already put in for his time off from work and they have already approved it. So once we have the $ this week I will be booking our new reservation with FREE dining!! :woohoo::woohoo: Hence the new ticker you see in my siggie! :thumbsup2

I CAN'T WAIT!!!!!!!!!!! We are still not going to be at the parks the whole time but we will spend 4 days there and also MVMCP. We just want to do a few other things while we're in the area that we haven't done before.

Anyways, so that's the news. Next up is my list of tentative ADR's so you guys can help me decide what I should do. :thumbsup2

Here is the list I have so far that is on the dining plan. Nothing is set in stone and I am open to suggestions and anything you have to say about my selections. Most of these I haven't been to before so reviews would be nice. Thanks! :thumbsup2

Counter Service:
Everything POP
Riverside Mill Food Court (for Chris)
Columbia Harbour House
Cosmic Ray's Starlight Cafe
The Launching Pad
Pinocchio Village Haus
Electric Umbrella
Liberty Inn
Backlot Express
Toy Story Pizza Planet

Table Service:
The Wave (kinda iffy on this one....)
California Grill (also kinda iffy on this one since 2 TS credits each to eat here)
Grand Floridian Cafe
Narcoossee's (also iffy here since 2 TS credits)
Kona Cafe (breakfast and dinner)
Boatwright's Dining Hall
Beaches & Cream soda Shop (we might do this OOP since all I want is the Kitchen Sink....and if we do that then I can use this day's TS credit towards one of the 2 TS credit places)
Liberty Tree Tavern (this is a MUST do for us for dinner. Possibly schedule this for the night we are going to MVMCP)
Le Cellier (this is also a MUST since we've been unable to get a table here the last two years)
Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater (another must for Chris)
Yak & Yeti (this might be OOP IF we go to AK since Becca can get us a discount here)
Planet Hollywood (this is on the probably not list but still gotta put it since through our package we get a meal coupon)

So there you have it folks. Please help me! We are only at the parks 4 out of the 8 days we are there. One day we will be visiting my grandparents, another day we plan on going to Kennedy Space Center and another day we want to go to the ICE exhibit at the Gaylord Palms Resort. So at least 2 of those days we won't be anywhere near Disney. We could probably be back for dinner on those days. So hard to plan everything w/o park times. Ugh!

Liberty Tree Tavern is a great one of course. Just miss the characters there

Sci Fi is fun for sure

Why does Chris want to eat at Riverside Mill Food court? Do they have something good there? Do tell popcorn::

Love Beaches and Cream...so good. Good idea to pay oop for that one :thumbsup2

Yeah most of them are new for us too. Really looking fwd to it!

Oh the pot roast there is to die for and the Beignets of course!!!! :thumbsup2

Thanks

I think that is a good idea

That way u can fuly enjoy yourself at your grandparents and at Kennedy's Space Center.

DO not have to worry about rushing back to make an adr in time :thumbsup2

Thanks girl. I didn't think about that aspect of it but that is another great point! I like it! :thumbsup2 Good thinking!

December 4th: Check in - POP food court for lunch - Narcoosee's for dinner (1 CS credit, 2 TS credits)
December 5th: Visit G'Mama and G'papa - hit POFQ food court for dinner (use 1 CS credit)
December 6th: ICE exhibit (if open) - Resort food court lunch - Beaches & Cream for dinner (OOP & 1 CS Credit)
December 7th: MGM - CS meal lunch - Sci-Fi dinner (1 CS credit, 1 TS Credit)
December 8th: Kennedy Space Center - MVMCP - LTT Dinner (1 TS Credit)
December 9th: AK & EPCOT - Electric Umbrella Lunch - Le Cellier Dinner (1 CS Credit, 1 TS Credit)
December 10th: MK & MGM - CS lunch - Kona Dinner (1 CS Credit, 1 TS Credit)
December 11th: MK & EPCOT - CS lunch - California Grill Dinner (1 CS Credit, 2 TS Credit)

So as it works out it looks like with this plan I will have one CS credit extra for each of us. Does anyone remember if we can combine that with another CS credit to equal a TS credit?? If so maybe I can double up on my TS meals one day. Hmmmmmmmmmm

Okay, so I played a little bit more and this is what I came up with

December 4th: Check in - POP food court for lunch - Jiko for dinner (1 CS credit, 2 TS credits)
December 5th: Visit G'Mama and G'papa - hit POFQ food court for dinner (use 1 CS credit)
December 6th: Kona Breakfast - ICE exhibit (if open) - Resort food court lunch - Beaches & Cream for dinner (OOP, 1 CS Credit, 1 TS Credit)
December 7th: MGM - CS meal lunch - Sci-Fi dinner (1 CS credit, 1 TS Credit)
December 8th: Kennedy Space Center - MVMCP - LTT Dinner (1 TS Credit)
December 9th: AK & EPCOT - Electric Umbrella Lunch - Le Cellier Dinner (1 CS Credit, 1 TS Credit)
December 10th: MK & MGM - CS lunch - Kona Dinner (1 CS Credit, 1 TS Credit)
December 11th: MK & EPCOT - CS lunch - Grand Floridian Cafe (1 CS Credit, 1 TS Credit)

Sharky, I put Breakfast on the 6th at Kona if you guys think you'd still want to go to that. But it would have to actually be breakfast time since we will need to be at ICE at a decent time to get back for lunch. If it would be pushing it for you guys just let me know. No biggie :thumbsup2

Not sure if we could get to a regular time breakfast at Konas

If not, we can still meet at actual resort or see if can stalk u at the park a couple days, if can make that work :thumbsup2

Yes they are delicious!! You can get a dozen for pretty cheap too. Chris was shocked at how cheap they were. You should go there and try them this year. Or maybe we can go together. It all depends on your schedule.

Let me know what your itinerary looks like once you get it done. I'm sure mine will change but I just wanted to have a rough draft so I can get my ADR's on the 100 day mark. Don't want to miss out on anything this trip. :thumbsup2 I'm sure there will be plenty of time for us to stalk one another. Hey girl! Glad to see ya. I actually just recently changed the dates. Like it's new news this week. What are your dates again? I can't remember right off the top of my head. That stinks if I'm going to miss you now but I couldn't help having to change our week of going down there. Way too many things have happened that makes the week right after Thanksgiving awful for us. So the way I have it now is going to work out much smoother thank goodness. :goodvibes

And yes, the park hours for December should come out next month. Your 100 day mark is coming up fast though isn't it?? Like next week or the week after? Have you figured out your restaurants yet?

Oops, I fell behind... but I'm caught up now!

Just throwing this out there... have you been to Sci-fi? I can't remember. We weren't impressed. The food was awful. The movies and the atmosphere are fun, though it didn't make up for the food. If we went again it would only be for dessert or milkshakes and fries or something like that.

But maybe you've been and ate something you liked? It's not like we sampled the whole menu. If you want I can look back at my TR and see what we ate... then you can AVOID it! :rotfl:

hmm...last I checked 90 + 10 = 100. Kelly, why did you think you could only book 90 days out? I'm confused by your post.

Note: you can still only book 90 days out with the ONLINE booking system because as of yet there is no way for it to verify that you have a trip booked for 100 days out and therefore would be allowed to book at that time.

Shopping. Massages. Explore your resort or other resorts for where you want to spend next vacation. Do DVC tour.

See the resort Christmas decorations on teh monorail loop. Watch EWP and fireworks from monorail resorts. Schedule one of the tours of the World (Segway one is cool!!)

Shopping. Massages. Explore your resort or other resorts for where you want to spend next vacation. Do DVC tour.

See the resort Christmas decorations on teh monorail loop. Watch EWP and fireworks from monorail resorts. Schedule one of the tours of the World (Segway one is cool!!)

Was considering a spa treatment but I really do think I'm leaning towards surprising Chris with the Richard Petty experience. :thumbsup2

Oh awesome

I like your idea

I think he would love that :thumbsup2

Thanks girl, I think so too and the ride along is not too expensive. Granted it's a short experience but it's a once in a lifetime kind of thing and maybe when we have more $ coming in he can do the driving experience. This can just get him the opportunity to say "I've been in a stock racing car for NASCAR" LOL

Sometime down the road, like you said, you can save up money for actual driving experience :goodvibes

Thanks girl. It's gonna be great. I think he's gonna love it. And it probably won't take up much time so we can hit an early lunch and still go and play putt putt or something like that.:thumbsup2

Yeah I would too but I just don't have $500 to drop on something like that right now. Maybe in another few years we'll be able to afford that. But for now just a ride along will have to do :thumbsup2

I think that since our trip has changed dates and certain plans have changed, this requires a whole new introduction to the trip. Don't you? (If you said no here, tough, you have no choice)

The When: December 3rd - December 12th

The Where: Pop Century Resort (only our favorite of all the values)

The Why: *Because it will be close to my BFF Becca's 30th B-Day so we will celebrate that.
*Because it has always been a dream of mine to see WDW decorated for Christmas :santa:
*Because last year's trip in September was filled with arguing and tears so we need a do-over. :thumbsup2

The Who: (will only give names and ages of everyone here since I did bigger introduction on my first post already)
*Of course there's me, Carla. I'll be 28 by the time of this trip.
*Chris, my DH. He will be 29 on this trip. His last trip to take in his 20's to WDW.
*Becca, my BFF. She will have just turned 30 in November so we will celebrate her Birthday while we are in town. :bday:
*James, Becca's DH. Not sure how old he is....26 I think. :confused3 He will be happy to have someone to ride the thrill rides with (as will I) since Becca doesn't ride them (and neither does Chris). :woohoo:

Our original dates for this trip were supposed to be November 28th - December 5th. First thing that happened, our dog sitters up and moved to Texas and no matter who we asked we could not find anyone to dog sit for us. Then, I planned on going to Thanksgiving with my parents in PA for a few days and then fly to meet Chris in Orlando. Well, my Dad went ahead and booked my flight with theirs which has me coming back on December 1st :headache:. It would have been way too expensive to get a flight on a Saturday to Orlando so we just opted to change our dates and now everything is falling into place very nicely. :thumbsup2 I'm almost glad our dog sitters moved now and my dad goofed on my flight because things are turning out WAY better for this trip than they would have originally. We now have a dog sitter lined up (my cousin) and we get free dining on this trip to boot. :thumbsup2:thumbsup2 I'm really really looking forward to this trip! I want to thank everyone for following along and for commenting on my ramblings. I really hope I'm not being too boring or confusing with all my changes (already). And to any lurkers out there, please don't be shy. Come and say hi and join in on the fun! I promise, I don't bite!

So, I know quite a few people that live in Florida. I grew up in south Florida so I still know people down there. I also still have family that live down in Florida so a lot of these people are going to be making appearances on this trip. I figured that since you will be seeing pictures of them and hearing about them in the trip plans and also in my TR that I better introduce them now so as not to make anyone too confused when those parts come up. Are you with me? Good. I will try to include pictures when I have one.

So the first people we will see when we get down there are my Grandparents. They live in Lake Placid, FL which is only 2 hours south of Orlando so every time we have a trip to WDW, we drive the rest of the way down to see them. I love my grandparents dearly! Their names are Aureale and Beatrice (they are French Canadian....everyone remembers my grandfather from our wedding as "the crazy french man" :rotfl: even after living in Florida for the last 45 years he still has a very thick accent).
Here's a picture of me with them when we visited them in 2007
http://i146.photobucket.com/albums/r244/leger13/n506256544_324453_2256.jpg
We are going to drive down after I get off from work on December 3rd and spend the night with them. We'll be spending the next day with them as well. I can't wait to see them! My aunt is living with them too so you will see her in the pictures as well. Her name is Lucy. It's been a long time since I've spent any amount of time with her so it will be a little strange but I'm looking fwd it it still.

The next people that will be in my report is Becca and James of course. And they need no introduction since I've introduced them twice here already. I hope you all realize what they look like by now since they were in my May Mini TR
Well, since I found a picture, I have changed my mind and am going to post it. Here, memorize there faces better!!
http://i146.photobucket.com/albums/r244/leger13/l_d73afc6f1caa7657deedab935509a30c.jpg

Up next is my other BFF Tiffany and her family. I have known Tiffany since we were both 3 years old. She moved to NY when we were 8 years old and we have kept in touch ever since then. She is now married with 3 beautiful little girls and a little boy on the way which should be here any day now :thumbsup2
I don't have a picture of all of Tiffany's clan together but I do have one of the 3 girls so I will post that. This is right after the 3rd baby was born last March. We will probably either meet them at DTD like we normally do or have dinner with them at a resort or something of that sort.
http://i146.photobucket.com/albums/r244/leger13/l_f6bcbec55f45db971f514dfd7cf2842e.jpg

Next up is Tiffany's brother Tim. I haven't seen him since Tiffany's wedding which was in 2003 so I asked him to come and have a dinner or something with us while we are in town. I for sure don't have any pictures of him. Sorry!

Then there is my friend, Katie. I have known her ever since I was in elementary school. I met her after Tiffany moved so we've probably known eachother since 3rd or 4th grade. I haven't gotten to see her since......uhhhh.......1998 quite possibly!? Wow!! I didn't realize it had been that long. Anywho, here's a picture of her. I can't wait to see her again!! She said she would come to Orlando and spend a few days with some friends there in town and go to a few parks with us and such. Will be great!
http://i146.photobucket.com/albums/r244/leger13/Katie.jpg

The others that will make an appearance on my PTR are all DISers that I have known for the last couple of years (and quite possibly a new one....depending on whether or not we can work out a DIS meet). First up, there's Sharky. We will be meeting and stalking eachother throughout our trips for sure! Can't wait! Then there's Love. Getting to meet her on December 4th at the DIS meet. Can't wait for that either! Then there's UJ. Also meeting him at the DIS meet on December 4th!! It's going to be a great time!! (I refrained from posting pictures of these DISers just in case they didn't want their picture posted now.....but they WILL have pictures posted on my TR!!)

So there you have it folks. This is another reason why I'm so excited for this trip. Getting to see family, old friends and new friends all in one week. All at WDW!! It's going to be a FANTASTIC week!!!!

I'm not. :sad1:

I'm staying at my timeshare condo in Lake Buena Vista. I couldn't justify loosing my week to stay on-site. *sigh*

Though, for a few days there, I was going to stay at POP for the $59/night!

Aww well staying off site is good too. We almost rented a house with some friends for this trip but they had to back out due to financial reasons. At least you are still going to disney!! We have stayed off site quite a few times and still had just as much fun doing that as we do staying on site. :thumbsup2

$59/night at pop (almost wrote poop ) is a great rate!!

 nothing quite yet. So far my planned ADR's are set. Just gotta wait until Sept. 1st to call and get the park hours so I can make sure my park days are what I want and then if any of that changes I'll of course have to change my ADR's around. Other than that, nothing really exciting going in planning for this trip. I wish I could start packing but I think doing that 3 months out would be a bit of an over kill. I still have to figure out how I"m going to pack for my PA trip and then in two days, wash everything and repack for Disney. That's a little scary just thinking about.:scared1:
