Family is tired of eating the same stuff all the time.
Looking for some new ideas for quick and easy meals so that I can plan the menu for our next week long camping trip.

Anyone care to share what foods they make/eat during vacation?

buy a bag of the prefrozen italian style meatballs, throw them in the crockpot with a chopped onion and spaghetti sauce. Cook on high for 3 or 4 hrs or low 6 to 8. Get some sub buns toast them on the grill add swiss or provalone cheese. yummy and easy

If we're camping when the weather isn't really hot, I make lasagna or homemade mac 'n cheese ahead and freeze it. Easy to either microwave in a plastic container, or if you store it in a throw away foil pan, chuck it in the oven to heat up. And both taste better reheated than "fresh" :thumbsup2

I usually cook up some ground round and then store it in the quart size glad containers. You freeze it and use it for tacos, sloppy joes, add to spaghetti sauce, burritos etc etc. I also make some shredded chicken and use it for sandwiches and filling for mexican food.

i was watching a local show last weekend. can't remember the name of it. but, they were making fish that they had caught.

they used a cast iron pot and put a layer of catalina dressing, then fish then onion. kept repeating until it was full or they didn't have anymore fish. cooked it over the fire for about 30 minutes or until you could smell that it was done.

looked good and they said it is excellent.. you can also bake it at like 350 or 375 (can't remember)..

thanks for the links. I will have to check them out.

Everyone complains of having the same stuff all the time, but when I make something new, they want the old stuff :confused3
