Just have to say that I have not read any reviews of T Rex at Downtown Disney. I am basing my opinion on my experience solely on our dinner.

It ROCKED!

I loved the ambience from the moment I approached the place. We were promptly seated without a prior reservation. We ate around 5:00pm. When we left about an hour later there was a line waiting to get in going out the door.

I am a vegetarian so I ordered the french onion soup which was devine!
It was the perfect combonation of onions and seasoning served in a metal crock with a large piece of bread on topped coverered in melted cheese. On the side there was also another piece of toasted bread and you could smell and taste the rosemary. I also had the mixed greens salad which had a wonderful combonation of rich balsamic vinegar with carmelized pecans, strawberries, craisens, onions and smooth goat cheese.

My husband had a grilled chicken sandwich and substituted waffle fries for chips. The waffle fries were huge and they gave a really big portion, enough for me to share a few with him. He loved his sandwich by the way.

The service was excellent and I felt with the atmosphere and the quality of the food, we really got our money's worth.

I highly recommend T Rex and we will be returning again in September.

Thanks for the review! We are going here in July. My DD17 wants to go there mainly because the dessert menu is titled "The End is Near." :lmao:

By the way, is the French onion soup vegetarian? I thought it would be made with beef stock?

Thanks for the review, it is on my list for our sept trip.

The 10% off is on entree's only BTW!! We ate there last weekend and it was easily DS's fav. meal EVER!! DH ordered some shrimp & linguine dish that was excellent while DS and I both ordered the chicken quesadillas from the app. section of the menu. They were huge and good as well - but found out appetizers are NOT eligible for the AP discount...

I thought it was much better than most of the reviews I'd read...and our server was awesome!! She came by the table SEVERAL times to check on us and even suggested a cheaper alternative to the pricey souvenir drinks (a smaller size that was 1/2 the price but was not listed on the drink menu). I didn't need a souvie glass for $12.99 but I DID want to try the Frozen Mojito!! I got an like 8 or 10 oz one for $7.99 and it was the perfect size and yummy too...I'd never had a FROZEN Mojito before!:thumbsup2

Can't wait to try T-Rex! We have reservations here on our first day at Disney. I was worried about taking away time from the parks but I think the kids will love it...especially my son! And the French Onion Soup sounds so yummy! Thanks for the review. :goodvibes

Oh, I'm so happy to read great things about T-Rex!! We've got a ressie there for June 29 at DS8's request but I had read some less than excellent reports on the food. Mostly, though, I read complaints about the noise. DS has some issues with loud noises, so we are prepared with earplugs.

Thanks for the review- it sounds like a really neat place to try! I think my son would love it (he will be 6 when we go)- but what are anyone's thoughts on taking a baby? My daughter will only be 6 months old when we are there- is the noise level too much for a baby? I would hate to miss it- it is my son's birthday while we are there, and he is currently in his "dino stage." :rotfl:
