Having just got back from the dlh, I would say that if you can afford it then go for it! With kids at the age yours are, it will make such a difference with giving them a break at the pool/in the room during the day. It is about a 15 minute walk to the Newport bay, and then possibly another 10 minutes to your room (it's a big place), so a quick trip back for a swim can become a pretty big mission vs 5 mins at the dlh. The character encounters at the dlh are great for youngsters as well, and I would fully recommend getting up early for the emh and heading back for breakfast at 10:00. That way you will have no queues for the kids rides, no queues for breakfast and no queues for the characters at the hotel! (they hang out by the breakfast restaurants) :)

If you have the 1500 the upgrade for sure!!

It's a wonderful hotel and I wouldn't stay anywhere else on a trip to dlp!!

I've never stayed at DLH but hope to one day, it sounds just wonderful and it would be such a dream come true. We have stayed at Newport Bay and it is lovely but the walk to breakfast and the pool can be quite timely due to the size of the place but it is still a lovely place to stay.

If you've got the money then I'd say go for it or put it to one side for your next trip to DLP. Good luck deciding :goodvibes
