Hello all - I've gone back and forth about doing a pre-trip/trip report - but I've decided to dive in and try. This is my first time doing this - so bear with me. I've gotten some good ideas reading other reports (Tammy, Jen, Dawn - I'm talking about you! ;) ) So I hope I can be even half as entertaining as they are. :thumbsup2

A little Disney history on us. I'm not sure of the exact number of times I went to Disney growing up - my Grandma lived in Florida when I was a baby/preschool age, so I know my parent's took me once or twice then. Then I remember going in late elementary or early middle school and the summer after my freshman year in college. I always liked it, but I was never a Disney obsessed person, with the exception of Ariel! When that movie came out I loved it and the music! I was in late highschool then, so I had tons of Little Mermaid stuff in my room - hence my avatar. I still consider her my favorite Princess  My DH was never to Disneyworld as a child and really had no interest at all in ever going there (until DD came along of course ;) ) Our DD is 6 years old now and this will be her 3rd trip to DW. Her first trip was in Oct. 2005 - she was almost 3 (perfect timing as she got in free!) My Mom went along on that trip and we had a wonderful time.......

Here we are on that trip:

Here's my Mom:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v226/maddiesworld/DisneyWorld/PB060226.jpg

We stayed off site and rented a car on that trip - we also went to MNSSHP. It was a great time.

If you are really interested - here is a link to my album on photobucket from that trip....
http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v226/maddiesworld/DisneyWorld/
It's private though - so PM me for the password :)

When we got back from that trip, DH (remember the one who had no interest in Disney:lmao: ) says "When are we going back?" So we decided on 2009. Then 2007 happened - it was a pretty stressful year for a few reasons, so we decided we needed something to look forward to - so I started doing some research and that's when I found out about free dining! So it was Disneyworld for sure :thumbsup2 in 9/07. It was just the 3 of us that year, we stayed at POP, had the free dining plan, DD did the BBB and we were able to get to a MNSSHP - my favorite! It was just what we needed and it couldn't have been a better vacation.

Here we are on that trip:

Here's the album from that trip:
http://photos.walmart.com/thumbnailshare/AlbumID=17561278/a=3610972/t_=3610972

So that's our Disney history so far - I'll talk about our upcoming trip in the next post :woohoo:

***If anyone is trying to catch up, sorry I don't have chapters or links - I'll do that for my trip report for sure. All of my updates and planning posts are in purple though, that should make it easier to skim through***

Ok - onto the current trip I am planning..........

So we returned from the 2007 trip and DH says "When are we going back?" - anyone see a theme here? :rotfl2: It's of course because DD loves it so much, right? ;) Anyway - so we decided to keep with our plans of going in 2009. We decided to let all of our family know that we were going and to see if anyone wanted to join us. DH's parent's are homebodies - so they weren't interested. My Mom toyed with the idea of coming, but between with the stock market going to down so far this year and the fact that we ran her ragged on the trip in 2005 (I've learned since then) she decided not to go. My SIL (the 32 yearold newbie in my title) however was thrilled to be asked. She is DH's sister and DD's Godmother.

So the cast for this trip:
Me (Joy), DH (Doug) and DD (Maddie)
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v226/maddiesworld/PC240223.jpg
And my SIL (Tricia):
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v226/maddiesworld/DSC02428.jpg

We are going from 10/25 to 11/1. That's the week of state teacher's convention in Wisconsin - so that's why we picked that week - DD will only miss 2 1/2 days of school. We are staying at:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v226/maddiesworld/POP.jpg
I made some requests.....SIL has her own room - so we linked the ressie's together. I asked for builing 4, fireworks view - we'll see what happens. I don't actually think there is a bad location at POP.

We have plans of going back to MNSSHP and BBB. I think I am going to get tickets for the Tuesday party. I don't know what DD will dress up as yet. We are taking several outfits along. We have the Alice in Wonderland dress - that was her Halloween costume this last year:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v226/maddiesworld/Pa310158.jpg
We also have her Cinderella dress from the last trip - though it's probably getting rather short - so I don't know if we are going to take it or not. We have a Snow white dress and High school musical 3 cheerleader outfit that we are for sure going to take too - so we'll see. I can't decide when to do BBB either - I was thinking of doing DTD this time, since we did the castle last time. I still have 2 months to decide though.

ADR's I plan to try for:

CRT (I wasn't going to, but we are getting in late on Sunday - so we won't be using a TS credit that day - so I"ll have a spare. Seeing it's SIL's first trip - I think it will be neat)
Park Fare dinner
Tepan Edo
Biergarten
Crystal Palace breakfast (SIL loves Winnie the Pooh and friends)
Chef Mickey's

Nothing at HS or AK really excited me, so I'll have to plan carefully since we aren't eating any at either park. The only one I may be willing to give up would be Tepan Edo, since we do have two really good Japanese steak houses where we live (that cook on the table just like Tepan Edo). I could probably give up Chef Mickey's too - but it would have to be for a meal with Mickey and friends. I like to get the characters at meals, so we don't have to stand in line for them :thumbsup2

Well, that's all I've got for now. I am reading up in the Passporter and UG 2009. And of course spending tons of time on the DIS. Thanks to anyone who follows along!

That sounds exactly like my husband. For years I tried to talk him into a Disney trip, then last year he had a conference in Orlando. I managed to talk him into a few Disney days, and before we left, we had booked a bounceback trip! Looking forward to your report!

Saw your PTR link while reading someone else's TR and I am in!! I see you are from Green Bay...that is awesome! So hi from a fellow Wisconsinite. :wave2: (I'm in a suburb of Milwaukee). Lately I have seen so many Wisconsin DISers on here, glad to know I'm not the only Disney fanatic around here!

Woohoo! A fellow Wisconsinite! We were just in Milwaukee a few weeks ago at the Zoo - it was lots of fun! Maybe I can share some pictures from the zoo later - I haven't uploaded the pictures yet.

Thanks to StitchKingdom updates on Twitter - I saw the new trailer for "The Princess and the Frog" , then I went to the website and I see it starts on DD birthday - how perfect! Here's the trailer:

Great start to your pre-trippie! My DH and I were married in WDW in 2003. At first he was against it, but I convinced him based on the fact that we have a blended family and all the kids would enjoy it. Well he was hooked. Less than a year later we became DVC owners.

I'm really liking it too - I was looking around the website today too.

So, today at work I had a few down moments, so I thought I'd check the Dis quick -IT"S BLOCKED!!!!! :scared: They have been blocking more and more - so it was only a matter of time I guess. Most days, it doesn't matter because I am too busy anyway - but on the few slow days it sure was a nice way to pass the time.

So on to my other current obsession, besides Disney of course, Dancing with the Stars!!!!!!!!!!! Does anyone else watch? It was FABULOUS tonight!!! My favorite is Gilles Marini (and I haven't even seen the Sex in the City movie :3dglasses) He is sooooooo good and so sweet. He has a website and does a video blog - really nice guy it seems. My other favorite all season has been Ty Murray - what a hard worker! He had zero natural talent coming into this and has come so far. It may be his last night tonight - but boy was he fun to watch! Anyway - so if you watch get to your computer and vote for Gilles!!!!! :surfweb: (unless you really like one of the others I guess ;) )

I'll talk more trip stuff tomorrow - I have voting to tend to tonight!

I haven't watched AI much since Carrie Underwood won. I'm not sure why, I think the audition process got too long and they lost me. Being in Wisconsin though, I have heard lots about Danny Gokey, so I try and at least see him or find it on the internet later. It's cool he's made it so far :thumbsup2

Oooh - what did you get? How did it go? I was reading that some people had some issue getting what they wanted and the system crashing on the CM's.

Yes! The new system is very much different than the old one! They don't give you any confirmation numbers until they are done booking. Well I think they can do 10 at a time in a session kwy word session because they do not get confirmation numbers until the session is ended!

Well I only had to book a few because I was doing DLXDP and reverted back to basic free dining! So here's what I have:

8/24 - Dinner at T-Rex in DTD @ 6:00pm "oop"
8/25 - Dinner at Everything POP
8/26 - Breakfast at Tony's Town Square GG 9:30am
8/27 - Dinner at Tusker House we are doing The Safari GG with OneTreeHillAddict and DisneyQuilter
8/28 - International Celebration GG at Epcot with the same group as above
8/29 - Rainforest Cafe or Planet Hollywood @ DTD apprx 6:00pm "OOP"
8/31 - O'Hana @ 6:35pm
9/1 - HDDMR Tier 1 Seating 9:30pm also along with OneTreeHillAddict and DisneyQuilter
9/2 - Leceiller @ 6:00pm
9/3 - Departure day may grab something at Everything Pop before DME pickup!

I didn't list Breakfast and lunch because we will be doing breakfast in the room as we are not big breakfast eaters and lunch will be countersvc I know we're going to try Sunshine Seasons, Columbia Harbor House, Cosmic ray's, Pinnocchios Village Haus, Picnic at the park,Tangerine Cafe, Lotus Blossom cafe, Lottowa Lodge etc...
Thank God! I didn't have those problems when I called because if the system crashes before they save everything is lost! I did call for a friend the day before and was on hold for like 45minutes and it took like an Hour and five minutes to make the ressies I had to make 11 days worth but the cm wasn't or shall I say didn't seem very experienced! :scared1: All done yay! :woohoo::yay::banana::cool1::woohoo: I'm excited now because my trip is under 90days! :cool1:

:cool1:

Sounds like some good eating on your trip :thumbsup2

I think I need to rethink Tepan Edo for this trip. It sounds good and it's' gotten rave reviews, but the last two times we've done Hibachi my tummy hasn't handled it well. I'm going to try at least once more before ADR time to see how it goes, but I don't want to be having problems at Epcot  If we don't, I think we'll try one of the TS at AK since we've never eaten there.

I sometimes take breaks from DIS too. Probably during the summer I won't be on as much.

I'm already obssessing about next year. I still have it in my head that I want to cruise, so I have to figure how to convince DH this would be fun! LOL!

We are going on a cruise for my oldest Sister's 40th b-day in June 2010 ! I had her convinced Disney was the only way to go! Then she does some fancy footwork and finds Carnival to be an awesome price that we can't refuse! So needless to say we are doing a cruise but not Disney! :sad2: But it is definitely on the someday agenda along with Disneyland!!! :)

Thanks! Yes I think it is definitely going to be fun! I haven't been brave enough to do a PTR actually I started one in March and deleted it! I wasn't liking it! But the other 2 Disers we are doing them with have PTRS! They are ONETREEHILLADDICT and DISNEYQUILTER !! So if you want to check it out join their threads! So, I haven't done much planning yet - but I did make a vacation purchase today - a brand new pair of navy blue, beach crocs. I already own a pair of sandals and the maryjanes - but I wanted a pair of beach ones too. I tried wearing the maryjanes on our last trip, but they didn't have enough support so I had to go back to my tennis shoes. The sandals I have are great, I wore them last summer walking around NYC all day and my feet and legs felt great, but I thought for the evenings I may not want to wear sandals. I need to get a couple of cute jibbletz for them now :)

I'll have to look - I think adaras are what I have - if so, you won't regret the purchase - they are awesome! When I wear them for a day or so, it feels weird to put tennis shoes on again because they feel so heavy. :upsidedow

Though better now than when she is older - kids are so resilient :lovestruc I don't think Maddie has ever seen Camp Rock - we miss it every time it's on Disney Channel - maybe she's seen it at Daycare though - there are movies I never knew she saw and she says "I've seen that Mom" :rolleyes1 THe HSM series will be good for recovery, unless she likes to sing with them ;) And yeah - all our girls would have a great time together I think.

I have to agree with you about San Diego. I made a trip there with a friend of mine during the summer and I have to say it was the most perfect weather of anywhere in the world. I never experience an uncomfortable day. The temp was always just right. I understand it's pretty much like that year round. I was envious coming from the hot humid Texas weather that I do.

Just a refresher, since it's been so long since I've actually talked about the trip :lmao:

Our trip is from 10/25 to 11/1. The cast of characters is me, DH, DD and DSIL - who is a DW newbie. We are staying at POP Century. DD is going to BBB at some point on our trip and we are going to MNSSHP - probably on Tues. the 27th, but I haven't ordered the tickets yet. Probably will in July, once the park hours come out.

I made up a tentative park schedule based on Touringplans best days calender - it could all be redone based on park and EMH hours though.

What I have for now is:

10/25 - arrive in DW. Our flight doesn't get in until 7:00pm :sad2: So we won't be doing any parks - just bum around the resort - maybe a swim if it's warm and things go smoothly - but off to bed because we are going to hit the ground running in the am.

10/26 - am: Magic Kingdom - I hope to get a 8:00am ressie for Crytal Palace so SIL can get her first glimpse of the castle with an empty park. Here is where EMH could change plans. pm: Epcot - maybe Illuminations if we are up to it.

10/27 - am and early afternoon: resort, rest, DTD, BBB. early dinner at Chef Mickey's and MNSSHP.

10/28 - sleep in, then head to Epcot. Maybe see if we can get a Soarin' fast pass, but spend most of the day in World showcase.

10/29 - Animal Kingdom

10/30 - am - DHS; pm - Magic Kingdom

10/31 - am Epcot; pm - Halloween activities at resort and maybe Downtown Disney

11/1 - Go home :guilty: (early flight too :sad2: )

That's my tentative plan. We will always be going back to the resort to rest/swim inbetween park hopping.

So for those who have done BBB in DTD - I'm thinking 3 hours for appointment, pictures then getting to dinner. So a 1:30 appointment for a 4:30 Chef Mickey's? The best route to Magic Kingdom from DTD - boat to Fort Wilderness - the bus to Magic Kingdom?

Our flight times kind of stink :sad2: But the fare was great - especially leaving out of Green bay :woohoo:

We leave Green Bay on 10/25 at 10:45 and don't get to Orlando until 7 something. Then we leave Orlando on 11/1 at 7:30am. There are so fewer flights from GB to Orlando now compared to 2 years ago - it really stinks! But I hate driving 2 hours to Milwaukee - or 3 1/2 to Chicago and then have to figure out where to stay and park the car. Then driving home after the long trip is no fun either. We live 5 minutes from the airport - so I just can't bring myself to go through all that work - and the flight times/prices weren't much better from either of those airports :headache:

So that's my plans for now - I figure 3 weeks or so I should have park hours, so then I can really plan :thumbsup2

Our flight times kind of stink :sad2: But the fare was great - especially leaving out of Green bay :woohoo:

I hear you...

We're coming in to MCO at 11:30pm on the 30th!! :faint: Saves about $100 a ticket, though. (But between that and us doing the party Sat night, I'm not sure if we'll be able to meet or not!) :confused3

Three hours sounds about right for BBB! Definitely a good idea to sleep in and just do a bit of swimming on party day!! :thumbsup2 That's my plan as well!

Yeah - Halloween will be a busy day! I forgot you were getting in that late the night before. That Tuesday seems like the best choice for BBB, but Maddie says she wants to be a cheerleader :cheer2: (HSM of course) for the party - but she wants to wear Snow White for BBB - so we'll have to think on it some more. :surfweb:

We did Norway in 2005 for lunch - it was very good and nice interaction :thumbsup2 We did CRT in 2007, the only reason I'm going to try this time is because it's SIL's first trip, so I think it will be cool to eat in the castle and we are getting in so late on our first day, we won't use a table service credit so we'll have an extra.

I have heard so much about Le Cellier, but have never had a huge desire to go there. I will keep it in mind though, everyone seems to love it.

I've heard lots of good things about Tusker house's breakfast, but I think I'd rather do dinner. I read a good review of dinner on a newsletter from the Passporter, I'm hoping to get other reviews here as well. Thanks for the compliments on my daughter - she keeps us on our toes! Bummer - I'm just missing Kathy too!

I'm not too far from Detroit..but far enough. LOL! Just over the lin in Ohio. I don;t know, but I'm assuming you mean the same airline. It surely wouldn't hurt to ask if you can get on an earlier one when you get there. I have found though when we go, most FL flights are full. We have gone from Detroit and Toledo.
What airline are you using? Maybe look on there site and put your origion city as Detroit and see what times the flights are.

That's what I think I'll do. I think we are flying American. I would only try the same airline. I think they charge to change if it isn't because of a delay or something on their part - but I figure it doesn't hurt to ask :confused3

They have cut the flights out of GB too - crazy! It made it frustrating to find flights - that's for sure :headache:

So excited about the hours being out now - I took the time to copy them into a word document and put the best days crowd calender into the same document. My DH thinks I'm such a geek - but he enjoys the vacation :thumbsup2 I think the itinerary I came up with will work well with the park hours. The only thing I am unsure of is that I don't have us going to Epcot in the morning until our last day. But I'm sure we can get a ride on Soarin' somehow earlier in the week. So now I just have to decide on ADR times.

Before I start talking trip, I'll share some July 4th pictures. The best part is I got a picture of SIL and DD together, so I edited it into the OP (but I'll put it here too)

Maddie and her friends decided they needed to have a parade for the 4th, so they decorated the wagon and made their own parade:

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v226/maddiesworld/DSC02423.jpg

Here is SIL and DD - Maddie has a kickball that is out of air because it cracked on her head - she is such a goof! Appropriately they were looking at our pictures from our 2007 trip to Disney :)

Here are some firework pictures, they didn't really look like the pictures, but I thought they were cool anyway.

A few updates, I have been faithfully soaking up the summer sun :cool1: (a little too much - ow!) and reading the UG 2009 (finished it and returned it to the library :thumbsup2 ) and my Passporter. I have our last ADR narrowed to Tusker House, Ohana or Kona. Any opinions?

I called today to add the Magical Express to our reservations and had them double check for free dining pins attached to mine or SIL's name (no such luck though - bummer!).

Now the decision I have to make is on ADR's - I am going to camp with DD the weekend that my ADR's open up, so I won't be home to call or go online. I don't want to make DH get up so early, so I'm trying to decide if I should use my cell and call at 6:00am to get ADR's for Crystal Palace and CRT and then do the rest online that afternoon when I get home or take my chances and do them all when I get home. CP is the only one I really care about getting at a certain time, so it's really the only reason I am considering getting up and calling. If we don't get CRT I won't be heartbroken, but if I am getting up to call, I may as well make that ADR too.

And - I ordered our MNSSHP tickets for 10/27 as well - can't wait to get them! You can get eTickets now and print them yourself, but I wanted the cute cards - what's $4.00 shipping in the grand scheme of things?

DreaGirl

If it were me, I would call for CP and CRT @ 6. Those seem to be the ones that go fast, especially CRT (I thought you could call on that one 180 days out still?).

I have only eaten at Tusker House for breakfast and it is very good. The character interaction was also good. We are eating at TH and OHana this trip. What time of day were you thinking?

For CRT I want lunch, CP - 8:00am breakfast and Tusker house dinner. I think we narrowed it down to Tusker house, it will work better and it's a buffet which Dh is a big fan of :) CRT switched to 90 days in June I think.

Itinerary and ADR's:

Here is my tentative plan

10/25 - arrive in Orlando late, so just checking in and catching some food

10/26 - am Magic Kingdom, pm Epcot (Illuminations) ADR: Crystal Palace 8:00am

10/27 - am resort and rest, early pm DTD, BBB. pm - MNSSHP at MK. ADR: Chef Mickey's 5:00pm (I think that's the first dinner time - I'd like earlier if it's available)

10/28 - sleep in, head to Epcot spend the day in World Showcase. ADR: Biergarten 7:30

10/29 - Animal Kingdom ADR: Tusker house 5:30

10/30 - am - DHS; PM Magic Kingdom - Spectro and Wishes ADR: 1900 Park Fare 5:30

10/31 - am Epcot; pm - Halloween activities at resort or DTD ADR: CRT 2:00

11/1 - Go home :sad1:

The ADR times are not set yet of course, but those are the approximate times I will go for.

I'll have to see how my reception is and how long I'm on hold. I'm going to be at a camp in Northern Wisconsin, so it could be iffy. I'll just need to go with the flow.

Great schedule!! You are getting in a lot, but still leaving a lot of "down" time.

I hope you get all your ADRs. I can't believe we are missing each other by one day! We are leaving early on the 25th. :(

hey there! i know i've been lurking (i tend to do that on preTRs then i come out to play during the actual TR) but i just wanted to tell you your schedule looks great! :thumbsup2 i don't know if you're open to suggestions but i will take a chance and give one anyway! i've been to all three special events at MK (MNSSHP, MVMCP and P&PP) and if there's anything i tell people, it's don't waste time on an ADR during these events. if i were you, i would nix chef mickey's at 5:00 that day to give yourself more time for the party. there's always SO MUCH to do at those parties that you need every minute of time you can get. can you do a late breakfast there instead? you can get into MK at 4:00 with your party ticket even though the party doesn't start until 7:00. what i normally do is get there around 5:00, ride some rides before the party starts and then enjoy all the shows and party activities/meet and greets the rest of the evening. just a friendly suggestion from me. if you can't make that work, no biggie! just thought i'd share my thoughts. :)

Thanks for the opinion - that's what this pre-trip report is all about for me :thumbsup2 I agree with you actually - I would rather get there earlier, so I may have to rethink it. We are on the Dining plan so we need to do an ADR that day - the only thing I could think of is to do a late lunch at Chef Mickey's and do BBB at the castle instead. I wanted to try the DTD one though since we did the castle last time. I wish they had dinner starting a bit earlier. :surfweb:

not to throw another wrench in your plans but i don't think chef mickey's does lunch. i think they used to but as of late i can't find any menus for lunch on either allearsnet.com or wdwinfo.com. just play with a little bit. i'm sure you can work it out. half the fun of going to WDW is tweeking the plans....at least for me anyways! hope i didn't cause too much frustration!!!

Just thought I would let you know that from what I undersatnd during FDP they do lunch at Chef Mickeys during Free Dining in August I have a 1pm ressie there on August 26th so they probably do it until Oct 3rd . But I've done this the past 2 yrs . Just letting you all know they started this last yr I believe during free dining and it definitely is happening at least in august but i'm going to assume it will be the entire FDP time frame:thumbsup2

Ok, I've done some thinking and gotten advice, this was my first plan:
Itinerary and ADR's:

Here is my tentative plan

10/25 - arrive in Orlando late, so just checking in and catching some food

10/26 - am Magic Kingdom, pm Epcot (Illuminations) ADR: Crystal Palace 8:00am

10/30 - am - DHS; PM Magic Kingdom - Spectro and Wishes ADR: 1900 Park Fare 5:30

10/31 - am Epcot; pm - Halloween activities at resort or DTD ADR: CRT 2:00

11/1 - Go home :sad1:

The ADR times are not set yet of course, but those are the approximate times I will go for.

So based on advice given, I'm thinking of not doing a table service on our MNSSHP day and doing two another day. So here's what I have come up with...

10/25 - arrive in Orlando late, so just checking in and catching some food

10/26 - am Magic Kingdom, pm Epcot (Illuminations) ADR: Crystal Palace 8:00am and Biergarten 6:30

10/27 - am resort and rest, early pm DTD, BBB. pm - MNSSHP at MK. No ADR this day, CS at POP and DTD.

10/28 - sleep in, head to Epcot spend the day in World Showcase. ADR: Chef Mickey's 7:30pm

10/29 - Animal Kingdom ADR: Tusker house 5:00

10/30 - am - DHS; PM Magic Kingdom - Spectro and Wishes ADR: 1900 Park Fare 5:30

10/31 - am Epcot; pm - Halloween activities at resort or DTD ADR: CRT 2:30

the new schedule looks great! :thumbsup2 and may i recommend wolfgang puck express at DTD marketplace for your CS the day you're eating there. it's the BEST CS on property in my opinion!

i think not having to worry about a CS on your MNSSHP day is a good decision. there is SO MUCH to do at the party and you'll need the time to enjoy yourself and not rush. do NOT miss the parade or fireworks at the party - they're incredible! i can't remember if you're reading my september 2008 TR (the vandy girls one) but we went to MNSSHP if you'd like to read about our experience there. erica (the friend i went with) has a handy-dandy index at the beginning so it's very easy to find where the party is. you may already be reading it and i'm just forgetting!

I haven't been reading that one - but maybe I should be :surfweb: This will actually be our 3rd MNSSHP - we just love it :thumbsup2 I think the parade and fireworks are worth the cost of the ticket for sure. SIL is going to get spoiled on her first trip - that's for sure!

Chef Mickey's not serving dinner until 5:00 is what threw me off - the idea of skipping TS that day and doing 2 another day just didn't occur to me. I'm glad you brought up the timing so that I thought harder about it. Thanks again!

.....There really must be something in the grease, that's hilarious!

Nothing like bonding over Big Macs... :)

and yay Mickey Mail!!!!! I missed so much when I went away for a few days and only had dial-up.... the Disboards didn't want to load.

For DH and I it was the chicken, fish and nuggets that we first met - but Big Macs are good too ;)

I'll be a bit sporadic the next couple of days. As I've talked about during my ADR musings, I go to camp with DD this weekend. It's a Lutheran camp in northern Wisconsin. I went there for years growing up, so it's really fun for me to take her there. This is my last year though, because starting next year she would go by herself if she wants to go. She's getting so old! Anyway - I should have an update Sunday night since I have to try and make my ADR's by cell phone Sunday morning. :surfweb:

So here's my ADR "update".....

So we are at camp as I have mentioned 100 times prior :rotfl: So my plan was to get up at 5:45 and go find a place where I wouldn't wake anyone to call Disney. I had my cell alarm set to vibrate to wake me up, which meant holding my cell phone all night so it would wake me up, but not the other Mom and two kids in the room. I didn't sleep real good because DD was sleeping rather restlessly and I was worried about sleeping through my alarm, so I woke on my own around 5:40am. I had great cell reception from the common area of the building we were staying in, so that was perfect. I followed the Unofficial Guides instructions perfectly of starting to call a few minutes before 6:00 CST and about the 4th try they were open. I got through right away, didn't have to be on hold at all:thumbsup2 So I gave her my reservation number and told her the first ADR I wanted to make was CRT and she was waiting on the computer, then she says, "what's your check-in date?" and I first incorrectly said 10/26 because I was looking at my sheet and that's the first date I need an ADR for  then corrected myself and said 10/25. So then she says......................

"Your reservation window doesn't open up until tomorrow" :sad2:

OH NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! All that planning and worrying and I can't even make my ADR's - are you kidding me??!!! :scared1: I didn't say that, but it's what I was thinking. :scared: So I hung up and went and took a shower. Then while getting ready I thought, I did tell her the wrong day at first, so after I was dressed (around 6:30) I called again - I got right through this time too - which I found interesting. But this person also confirmed that my date is tomorrow :rolleyes1 So I will get up early tommorrow morning too and do them online. So hopefully tomorrow I'll have a more exciting update. :lmao:

I'll give a camp update after I upload my pictures :yay:

Thanks! I'm just striking out with Disney today - I thought I could get the free Quick service plan (since we are staying at POP) and pay the difference to upgrade to the regular dining plan. So I called - no go - I would have to switch to a moderate to get the regular - which is way more than what we would save. :sad2: Oh well!

Wait, you're staying at POP and want to use the Visa code? or the general public code? You can definitely pay the difference and upgrade to the regular plan - it's 10$ per adult per night. Where did you find out you couldn't?

Oh, just saw your post - you found out you can? Good. :)

I called and the CM said I couldn't - so I was going to call again, but I went to the Visa site and it didn't say anything. So I was reading Kathy's trip report and someone posted a different code for someone staying in a value that wants to upgrade to the basic dining plan - so I am going to call with that tomorrow. Weird thing, I didn't get an email from Visa about this at all - thank goodness I saw it on the DIS!

I got up very early this morning and went online to make my reservations :surfweb: Scared the you know what out of my husband, in his sleepy state he forgot why I was getting up  Now that it's my actual 90 day mark :rolleyes1 I was able to make my ADR's.

Here is what I got (in paraethesis what I searched for)

10/26 - Crystal Palace - 8:10am (8:00am)

10/26 - Biergarten - 6:30pm (6:30 pm)

10/27 - No ADR's

10/28 - Chef Mickey's - 7:30 pm (7:30pm)

10/29 - Tusker House - 2:00pm (5:00pm - more on this later)

10/30 - 1900 Park Fare - 5:35pm (5:30pm)

10/31 - CRT - 2:20pm (2:30pm)

So I got everything I wanted. For Tusker House - they close at 5:00 along with AK I think, so I searched 5:00pm and got 3:55pm. The more I thought about it, we aren't going to go back and rest that day because AK closes so early, so I changed my mind to do a late lunch instead as a break :thumbsup2 2:00pm is what I searched for and got. Now I am just waiting 20 min to call and reserve BBB and hopefully apply the free dining code (with upgrade to the basic plan) to my ressie and pray it doesn't mess up my ADR's.

Alright - I called and was able to apply the Disney Visa code (RGV) to my reservation and it saved my an additional $150 over the 40% off pin code I had originally used :cheer2:

I also was able to book Maddie's BBB appointment and got 2:30 on 10/27 at DTD just like I wanted :thumbsup2 The CM thought you could book those online too, but I had checked into it and it doesn't look to me like you can yet. Maddie is very excited  princess:

Then I had to call Travelocity because for the second time they (or the airlines) confirmed us on a random flight home in addition to the flights that we are supposed to be on. Luckily, it didn't take long to cancel that flight off, but it's the second time it's happened, I hope this is it. At least that is a toll-free call ;)
