We are staying in a studio at BCV. We were considering taking the IPod touch instead of the lap top if the internet service is WiFi compatible.
DOes anyone know?

In the studio I wasn't able to pick up a wi-fi signal. I used the cable. I have heard there is wi-fi in the lobby, but I have never tried it.

As of last Feb, there was no Wi Fi in the lobby - only cable in the rooms. Boardwalk had it but using my son's Itouch, the system would not recognize it. And it came with a $10 cost per day.
I checked with convention services at the Yacht Club and they provide wi fi but only with a private code for conventioners.

we were thinking of bringing the ipod touch also and just using that instead of the laptop for internet. Obiously without wifi we'd need a router or the laptop. My question is, is there a mini or travel size router available out there?

There are several. Apple makes one of the best, Apple Airport Express, but you'll have to bring it pre-configured since I don't think there is configuration software for the iTouch (I'd double check the app store, because someone might have written one.)
D-Link also makes one and I think you can configure it wirelessly via a web browser.

There is paid WiFi in the BC common ares like the lobby and the pool. The rooms have a hard wired connection that is free for Members and Guests staying on points.

I brought an itouch but the system would not recognize it. I tried in both BWV and BC lobbies. Tech support at Disney told me I'd have to go to the sports complex where there was free wifi - yeah right. I finally reconnected when we got back to the airport. Something about Apple's config just was not recognized. Very disappointing - wish I knew what was wrong.:confused3
