Hello everybody! This is my first ever Trip Report, so bear with me!;)
I'm Angela, I am a 26 year old asbestos litigation paralegal from Pittsburgh, PA with a love for animals and everything Disney.princess:
Matt, my DH, is a 25 year old mechanical designer and former tattoo artist, also from Pittsburgh, who loves his harley and had never been to Disney in his life!
We were married in Pittsburgh on April 25, 2009.

http://i661.photobucket.com/albums/uu332/adestefano/Wedding/Angelaswedding141-2.jpg
(If interested, you can find more info about my wedding in my wedding planning journal (http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1986683)... more pics are coming soon)
There were many decisions to made during the wedding planning process, but the easiest one to make was where we would go for our honeymoon!! I hadn't been there since like 1997 and had been itchin to go back for quite sometime, and Matt always said that if we ever got married, he'd go with me for our honeymoon! After almost 3 years of dating and a wedding, we finally made it to WDW!:yay::yay::yay:
Whenever people asked us where we were going on our honeymoon, we always got so many strange looks. People thinking "why the heck would you want to go to Disney World for a honeymoon??" Well, here's my reasoning... first of all, like I said I LOVE Disney, and because Matt had never been there, I felt like he needed to experience it! And what better time is there to do so? Also, Matt is not much of a beachy person and the big bummer is that he's allergic to chlorine, so a tropical island was out. So duh! Disney's the obvious choice here!
So anyways, here's the details of our fabulous honeymoon:
When: April 27th-May 4th
Where: Beach Club Resort
Dining: Boma, Coral Reef, Cinderella's Royal Table, Sci-Fi Dine In, T-Rex, Chef Mickey's, Ohana, Cape May, Le Cellier, and Captain's Grill... plus many counter service meals!
Anything else?? Cirque Du Soleil La Nouba!!!
Thanks for reading!!:flower3:

You guys have no idea how excited I was to go to Disney Word! Ok, maybe you do since you're all Disney lovers like myself, but it had been over 10 years since I was last there, that's a LONG time!
Like I said in my first post, we were married on Saturday, April 25th. We didn't leave for Disney until Monday, April 27th, because I wanted to have Sunday to visit with and say good bye to our out of town guests, finish up packing, relax, and spend some time with our dogs Oliver and Ellie before they went off to stay with their grammy and pappy for the week. I'm so glad we had the day in between, but I couldn't wait to get to Disney!!
All day Sunday I was trying to decide if I should go to sleep or not. Our flight was leaving the Pittsburgh airport at 6:55 am, then you need to be at the airport 2 hours ahead of time so we were at 4:55, then we're about an hour away from the airport so we'd have to leave by 3:55, and I wanted to give myself 2 hours to get ready and pack everything that I needed in the morning, so I would have to set my alarm for 2:55!! Sometimes I think I'm better off with no sleep at all than having to wake up that early. However, by the end of the night, I was so tired I needed sleep... but I didn't end up going to bed until midnightish, so I got about 3 hours of sleep.
Monday morning we were suprisingly running right on schedule! :cheer2: Here we are at the airport waiting for the plane:
http://i661.photobucket.com/albums/uu332/adestefano/Disney/ImportedPhotos00007.jpg
Our flight was also right on time! We were in Orlando by 9:00.
http://i661.photobucket.com/albums/uu332/adestefano/Disney/0427090903.jpg
We were taking the Magical Express to Disney, which made me very nervous since it was our first time! I was afraid we wouldn't find the bus, or we'd miss it, or it would lose our luggage or something! But there's sign's everywhere, so it's kinda hard to miss!
http://i661.photobucket.com/albums/uu332/adestefano/Disney/ImportedPhotos00008.jpg
Beach Club, that would be us!!
http://i661.photobucket.com/albums/uu332/adestefano/Disney/ImportedPhotos00009.jpg
Woo hoo! We made it to the magical express!!!:yay:
http://i661.photobucket.com/albums/uu332/adestefano/Disney/ImportedPhotos00011.jpg
I was so excited for the video they played on the bus! It got me even more excited, if that was even possible! And it made the ride seem so much shorter than it was!
http://i661.photobucket.com/albums/uu332/adestefano/Disney/ImportedPhotos00010.jpg
I even put on my ears!
http://i661.photobucket.com/albums/uu332/adestefano/Disney/0427090948.jpg
Finally, we were there!!
http://i661.photobucket.com/albums/uu332/adestefano/Disney/ImportedPhotos00012.jpg
When we pulled up to the Beach Club, I was amazed by how beautiful it was!! They dropped us off right at the door, of course!

Since it was only about 10:00 am, I wasn't sure if we'd be able to check in or not, but luckily our room was ready!!! I don't know this for sure, maybe someone here can confirm, but I think we got a room upgrade. We booked a standard room, and when I booked our travel agent said that standard rooms only have 2 queen beds, and to have a king we would have to upgrade, and being my cheap self, I said nevermind. But when we got to our room, there was a king bed!

After we were all settled, we were ready to go catch the bus to Magic Kingdom!! We headed to the lobby, but apparently went though the wrong doors.
http://i661.photobucket.com/albums/uu332/adestefano/Disney/ImportedPhotos00023.jpg
We ended up on the side with the lake, so while we tried to find our way around, I took some pictures...

Hi Angela,
Subbing! I am really enjoying your TR! :surfweb:
I read your PJ and you had such a beautiful wedding and I loved the Princess shower!
Can't wait for another update. I am anxious to see how your DH reacts to Disney. My DBF likes going to Disneyland and we are planning a WDW trip, but that is at another Disney level. He seems similar to your hubby so hopefully it went well! :goodvibes

Hi Angela, I'm subbing to your TR. Congratulations on your wedding! I know what you mean about the excitement. My first ever trip to WDW was last year and I was more excited than my two boys, 7 & 3! I convinced hubby to do WDW again in december this year. Now if only the time could fly!
The pics of beach club are so beautiful! I like the room decor and the resort looks very pretty. For some reason, I've never found the other pics of BC on this board appealing before. Maybe its your excitement flowing thru the camera. LOL. Ok, I can be weird at times. Looking forward to the next installment.

I know, it is such a bummer with DH's allegies.:headache: It bums him out too. He kept apologizing for not being able to go to Typhoon Lagoon or Blizzard Beach, as if it was his fault!
I love everything already, I can't wait to read more. Your room is so nice! The pink bag that was in the one picture of your room, i think it said Disney on it, did they give you that?
Oh no, they didn't give it to me. I actually ordered it a while ago with reward points from the Disney Movie Reward Club! It was like 700 points or something like that! It says Disney Princess!princess:
Awe angela you look so happy in your ears! You room is so pretty! I love walking around the bc/yc/bw area... its sooo lovely! Can't wait to hear more.

So when I left off, we were on the Yacht Club's bus to the Magic Kingdom!! Ahh, I was so excited! I couldn't wait to see the castle for the first time!!!
When we got off the bus, I couldn't help but notice the Grand Floridian! I never really knew what all the hype was about it, but when I saw it in person I totally understood... it's beautiful!!!

And the toppings bar was awesome!!! I think DH put every single topping they had on his burger!! For me, it was just mushrooms!
After we finished eating, I wanted to go straight to Fantasy Land because I could not WAIT to ride It's a Small World!!!!
When I was little, this was my FAVORITE ride!!!! My dad likes to tell the story of how when I was little he would take me on this, and as soon as it was over I would cry and throw a fit and he'd have to get right back in line and take me on it again!!:rotfl:

We were getting REALLY hot so when we camt to the Toontown Hall of Fame tent we went inside to cool of. Then I spotted the princess room and HAD to go get my picture taken with them.:rotfl: Ok, I had no idea this line was so long! I think we waited for like a 1/2 hour, which was longer than most rides!! And I swear, we were the only ones in line that did not have children. A little embarassing, but who cares, right?? Finally, it was our turn to meet Cinderella, Belle, and Aurora.
Cinderella asked us where we were from, so we told her Pittsburgh. She said "Wow, that's an awful long way to travel in a pumpkin carriage".:rotfl:

Matt, not so much. In fact, the guy in front of us was teasing Matt because I dragged him along for this little princess meeting.
http://i661.photobucket.com/albums/uu332/adestefano/Disney/Image21.jpg
Belle asked me, "Is this your Beast." Of course, I said yes. She said, "He's a little scruffy, like mine!" :rotfl: Poor DH!

http://i661.photobucket.com/albums/uu332/adestefano/Disney/Image24.jpg
Now Aurora was the weirdest of them all! She commented on our matching shirts and said she was thinking of getting matching shirts for her and Prince Phillip and asked me what she should have, since they've been married for so long! I was like, "Oh, I don't know." And she asked where I got my shirts from, and I told her that someone made them on ebay. "What's Ebay?" she asked. I was like "um, its a website that you buy stuff from." And she asked, "What do you use to buy it?" And I said "credit card". Well, apparently where she's from they don't have credit cards, only GOLD.
http://i661.photobucket.com/albums/uu332/adestefano/Disney/Image25.jpg
http://i661.photobucket.com/albums/uu332/adestefano/Disney/Image26.jpg
So I thought this conversation was over and we could just get our pictures taken, and then she starts again... "So what's a website, like a web that is made by spiders?" UGH! I just said sure, whatever. I was over this weird conversation.:headache:
She finally stopped asking questions and smiled for the picture.:rotfl:
http://i661.photobucket.com/albums/uu332/adestefano/Disney/Image27.jpg
After that, we went back to the bus stop to catch the bus back to the Beach Club so we could get ready for dinner! We were headed to Boma at the AKL! Yay!

Just wanted to tell you congratulations and also how much I LOVE your PINK :cutie: slip!! That's so pretty - I've never seen that, but I haven't looked in a long time either! :rotfl: I'll have to mention this to one of my best friends who'll be planning a wedding and tell her to do purple since she loves it. Pink rules though! :thumbsup2
Congratulations again!!
Thank you!!! My mom and I actually dyed the slip ourselves! It wasn't hard to do at all! Purple would look very nice!!
Excellent pictures, Angela!
Did you get any pictures of the triple chocolate cake? I like mushrooms as a topping too.
Thank you!! I apologize, I have hardly any food pictures. I wish I would have taken more.:guilty:

Ohh, yay for your upcoming disney honeymoon!!! Make sure you wear your "Just Married" pin!!! Where are you staying at?
Wow, your from Pgh too! Where at in Pgh?
I am so excited for our trip. I already have bought our Mickey and Minnie bride and groom ears off of Ebay. I told me fiancee he basically has to wear his top hat everywhere but the pool!
Right now we are booked at the WL, but I'm thinking of switching to the BC because we will be at Epcot so much. Your pictures of the BC make it look really great. We really have to make up our minds soon, but I know either place will be beautiful.
I'm from Greensburg, and he is from Monroeville. (So the airport is really far away from us!) We will be living in my house in Jeannette once we get married. We are all old-fashioned and aren't living together until the wedding.
Loved your character experiences .... we may be avoiding the face characters if some of them are going to be so strange. But Aurora would probably get a kick out of us, because my fiancee is named Phillip.
Can't wait to read about the rest of your trip. I love it!

I ended got my ears from ebay too, but I didn't get ears for DH. He would never, ever wear them!
BC was nice, and it was so nice being so close to Epcot! If you are planning on spending alot of time there, it may be worth it to switch. I'm sure Wildereness Lodge is awesome though!!!
HA! We met some other unmasked characters on our trip, and they weren't all so strange. Maybe just stay away from the princesses in Toon Town... it's not worth the wait anyways.:lmao:

I just caught up on your trip report - you were a beautiful bride and had a very handsome groom, and how lucky that you could spend your honeymoon in DW! I may be wrong, but I did hear that the pools at the resorts do not use chlorine but an alternative chemical that satisfies the new "green" concept. Definitely something to check out for future trips.

Thank you very much!!! Oh, really?? I called WDW sometime last year to see if they used chlorine at Stormalong Bay since it's a sand bottom pool, and the CM that I spoke to told me that all their pools were chlorine. If they changed it, then that's awesome!!!:yay: I'll have to call and find out next time we go! I wonder if they would switch the waterparks too?? That would be great!

We had dinner reservations at Boma at 5:55. We weren't sure the best way to get there, so we asked at the front desk, and they said to take the boat to Hollywood Studios, and then catch the bus to Animal Kingdom Lodge. We were running late, as I usually am, and the time we spent to take the boat to Hollywood Studios, then take the bus to AKL, took FOREVER. Seriously, almost an hour! We would have been much better off taking a cab. We didn't get to Boma until almost 7, which was an hour after our reservation time, but luckily they had a cancellation and were able to fit us in!
Boma is a neat looking restaurant, but in my opinion the food is just so so. I am a picky eater, but DH usually eats just about everything and he was not impressed. Since it was a buffet, we tried a bunch of different things, and my 2 favorite things were the potato soup and chicken nuggets.:rotfl:

I did get a fun drink that lit up though!!
http://i661.photobucket.com/albums/uu332/adestefano/Disney/ImportedPhotos00067.jpg
I tried to get DH to finish my salad with mango dressing, but he didn't like it either.

It was delicious!
After dinner, I wanted to walk around the resort and check it out. When we were picking our resort for our honeymoon, it was a toss up between Beach Club and Animal Kingdom Lodge. After being there for Boma, I must admit that I wished I picked there instead. Not that I didn't love the Beach Club, but AKL was just so neat!! It was much quieter than the Beach Club, more more romantic, and the savannah was just awesome! Here's some animal pictures we got. It was getting dark, so the pictures aren't so great...

The only thing we rode that night was The Great Movie Ride, which was pretty cool. We went in not really knows what this was, and we walked into the movie part that is right before the ride and I got angry and left because I thought that movie was the attraction.:rotfl: As we were leaving, one of the CMs asked what was going on and I told him we were waiting cause I thought it was a ride! haha! He said "It IS a ride!" :confused3 Ok, I'm a dork. We were already out of line, so we left and went got back in line. Luckily, the line wasn't that long! I didn't take any pictures of this, maybe we weren't allowed? I can't remember! I loved the Wizard of Oz part though!!! It was sooo cute! DH asked me if Wizard of Oz was a Disney movie, and I said no, it's MGM. But then I remembered Hollywood Studios used to be MGM.
Does anybody know why they changed MGM to Hollywood Studios??:confused3 Just wondering!
After that, we just walked around some more. We stopped for photopass picture by the Tower of Terror. We didn't ride it that night though.

It made me laugh that one of your faves was the chicken nuggets! Oh and the mango dressing does not sound friendly! :confused3 I would like to try the Boma Breakfast next time we go. Dont you just love Hollywood Studios at night?? :cloud9: I think there is nothing better than the Tower of Terror at night! (which maybe you guys did later..:wizard:) I like the Great Movie Ride but I think a lot of it depends upon the tour guide you get... hilarious that you guys left! If it was just the movie I would have left too! :rotfl:
With the name change Disney said they changed it to fit the park more due to it's old hollywood theme and to become more modern... however mgm and disney had a big ol' legal dispute and fallign out which is why most believe it changed. Everything was going from Disney/MGM to Disney/Pixar. It is neat to realize just how many movies out there are "disney" movies because Touchstone, Miramax, and Hollywood Pictures are all disney affiliates.
Your Disney sweatshirt is cute! :lovestruc

They definately told us the long way to AKL! The boat is nice and everything, but it's far from fast! When you're in a hurry, it seems like it moves in slow motion. We definately should have taken a cab. Or, what would have made more sense is if we planned Boma the day that we were at Animal Kingdom, and we could have went there right after. But oh well, it all worked out!
Thanks for the MGM/Hollywood Studio's info!!:yay:

Day 2 we woke up bring and early to go to Epcot... not early enough for the morning EMH, but early enough for me.
We took the boat from the resort over to Epcot, which was a lovely ride. Although, I think I said this before, it's much quicker to just walk. But the boats still nice and relaxing.
http://i661.photobucket.com/albums/uu332/adestefano/Disney/ImportedPhotos00081.jpg
I took some pics from the dock while we were waiting for the boat to come pick us up.
This ship is actually really cool, I didn't notice until 1/2 way through the trip that this was actually a slide into stormalog bay. Pretty neat, huh?
http://i661.photobucket.com/albums/uu332/adestefano/Disney/ImportedPhotos00082.jpg
Then of course, Seabreeze Point looking beautiful as always...
http://i661.photobucket.com/albums/uu332/adestefano/Disney/ImportedPhotos00083.jpg
The boat dropped us off at the enterance in World Show cases, but there wasn't really much open yet.

My bad sense of direction was trying to find the way to Soarin!:rotfl:
http://i661.photobucket.com/albums/uu332/adestefano/Disney/ImportedPhotos00086.jpg
We stopped for some pics along the way. The Flower and Garden Festival was going on, so everything looked absolutely beautiful.

We finally found Soarin and rode it. And loved it, of course! There was only like a 20 minute wait, which wasn't bad! While we were in The Land Pavilion, we also did the Living With the Land boat ride and the Circle of Life show. I was really bummed about the Circle of Life show though, because I thought we were actually going to see The Festival of the Lion King! Didn't realize that they were 2 different shows! Or in 2 different parks!:rotfl: It was cute though!
After that, we headed over to World Showcases, and we decided to stop at the first counter service restaurant that looked good!
Here's some pics taken from across the lagoon.

We ended up having lunch at Cantina De San Angel. OMG, so fabulous!!! We talked about this meal almost the entire trip! We both got the Plato Combinacion, which included a Chicken taco, Beef burrito and a Quesadilla served with Black refried beans and Mexican salsa. The quesadilla was to die for. I'm so serious about this! The chicken taco was excellent too. The burrito was ok, I'm not much of a bean person, but DH loved it. We also got churros, which were delicious too!
And of course you can't go to "Mexico" without getting a margarita, right??
http://i661.photobucket.com/albums/uu332/adestefano/Disney/ImportedPhotos00098.jpg
Some nice lady (or guy, I can't remember) saw me struggling to get a picture of the both of us together, so he offered to take it for us. So nice!
Much better!
http://i661.photobucket.com/albums/uu332/adestefano/Disney/ImportedPhotos00099.jpg
We also did the Grand Fiesta Tour Featuring the Three Caballeros!
After that, we were off to finish our tour of the countries...

Continuing on....
The next place we stopped for pictures was Japan! (Or is this China?)
http://i661.photobucket.com/albums/uu332/adestefano/Disney/ImportedPhotos00100.jpg
I spotted Mulan with a very short line for pictures, so we stopped!
http://i661.photobucket.com/albums/uu332/adestefano/Disney/ImportedPhotos00101.jpg
She was way cooler than Aurora!
http://i661.photobucket.com/albums/uu332/adestefano/Disney/ImportedPhotos00102.jpg
Next was China (unless I got them mixed up and this is really Japan?)

Not really sure what this was?
http://i661.photobucket.com/albums/uu332/adestefano/Disney/ImportedPhotos00106.jpg
We found a good view of the Epcot "Ball" and got a pic in front of it.

http://i661.photobucket.com/albums/uu332/adestefano/Disney/ImportedPhotos00103.jpg
Bonus points if you know! I'm guessing Italy?
DH was super excited to find a snack counter selling Baklava! I got a huge chocolate chip cookie! 2 snack credits gone!
http://i661.photobucket.com/albums/uu332/adestefano/Disney/ImportedPhotos00112.jpg
Ok, I know where this is at... there's the Eiffel Tower!
http://i661.photobucket.com/albums/uu332/adestefano/Disney/ImportedPhotos00113.jpg
I actually couldn't tell you where this was at either...

We had some time to kill before our Coral Reef ressies, so we checked out some gift shops, and we rode the big "Ball", Spaceship Earth! We basically walked right on!

More cool topiaries:
http://i661.photobucket.com/albums/uu332/adestefano/Disney/ImportedPhotos00115.jpg

I loved the manitee part of the exhibit! Whenever I was little, we lived in the wonderful state of Florida, and my dad would take us to see the manitees! I hadn't seen one since then!
http://i661.photobucket.com/albums/uu332/adestefano/Disney/ImportedPhotos00120.jpg
This poor little guy had his fin stuck in a propeller, and it was all chopped up.:sad1: I'm so glad Disney's taking care of him though!

We decided to just head over to Coral Reef, even though we were almost an hour early.
http://i661.photobucket.com/albums/uu332/adestefano/Disney/ImportedPhotos00124.jpg
Luckily, they were able to seat us within 15 minutes or so.
http://i661.photobucket.com/albums/uu332/adestefano/Disney/ImportedPhotos00125.jpg
I always wanted to go here ever since that Full House episode where Danny was going to propose to Vicki here.:rotfl: I believe that was interrupted by Joey and Jesse scuba diving.
Anyways, the food here was excellent! DH got the salmon and I got the chicken with risotto. (Sorry, once again, no food pics). I can't remember what we got for dessert, but I think it was some sort of chocolate cake.
I did get a pic of my fun drink though, which was included in the DDP!
http://i661.photobucket.com/albums/uu332/adestefano/Disney/ImportedPhotos00126.jpg
After dinner, we left Epcot to go back to the hotel to get ready for Cirque! But first I stopped for a pic with Alice!
http://i661.photobucket.com/albums/uu332/adestefano/Disney/ImportedPhotos00127.jpg
Here we are on the boat back to the hotel:
http://i661.photobucket.com/albums/uu332/adestefano/Disney/ImportedPhotos00128.jpg
We had tickets for the 9:00 Cirque Du Soleil show, and we left super early because I wanted to make sure we got there in time. Well, we ended up sitting on the steps outside of Cirque for about an hour before they even let us inside... we were THAT early! They didn't allow pics inside the show, so this is all I've got for you...
http://i661.photobucket.com/albums/uu332/adestefano/Disney/ImportedPhotos00129.jpg
http://i661.photobucket.com/albums/uu332/adestefano/Disney/ImportedPhotos00130.jpg
If you haven't seen a Cirque Du Soliel show, it's a MUST DO! It's just so amazing, there aren't even words to describe it!! This is the second Cirque show I've seen. The first one was in Toronto, and it was equally as awesome. I know alot of people don't want to use their Disney time/money on this, but there's traveling shows, so if it comes to your hometown, please go! You will not regret it!
Next up: Day 3 - Breakfast at CRT, MK, lounging in Stormalong Bay and lunch at Hurricane Hannas, HS, and Sci-Fi Dine In!! Stay tuned!

Wow! What a great update!
You saw Mulan in China and the drummers in Japan... :thumbsup2 It was backwards but thats ok! Just remember Mulan saved China not Japan! :rotfl: I'm jealous you got to see her! I waited and waited for her when we were there and I never saw her!! I :lovestruc Mulan!
I agree that the Nemo ride is cute, but not worth the wait so much. We actually walked right on but later the line was HUGE! I would have been disappointed if we wait a long time for it.
You crack me up about Full House! I love the Disney World episodes! :rotfl:
You guys got some great pictures!
I'm glad Cirque Du Soleil was fantastic. We were bummed that we did not do it... before vacation we were debating it for a long time and passed it up, but once we got there we wished we did it.
Oh! and Stormalong Bay looks so neat! Makes me wanna stay at the Beach Club... I can't wait for your next update! I was having Angela withdrawals!! :cutie:

I've actually never seen Mulan!!!! So I don't really know the story. I know, I can't believe it either! It's one of the few Disney movie's I've never seen!
Ya, Nemo was cute, but since it we were kinda new to the whole Disney thing, we did alot of things that would could have skipped, and didn't get the chance to do things that we REALLY wanted to do... like Test Track! Yep, we didn't do it. :( Oh well, there's always next time, right?
I seem to raise my dork flag alot with the Full House Disney World episode references! LOL.:rolleyes1
You definately should see Cirque next time you go. Or check their traveling tour and see if they're coming to your city! It won't be La Nouba, but I'm sure it will still be awesome! I know they're coming to Pgh in like January/Feb 2010. I already told DH we ARE DEFINATELY going!!!

Everyone thought we were crazy for going to WDW on honeymoon but we are not beach people so what else is there?! And now we're both addicted. Planning on going back this October for our 3rd anniversary and to celebrate DD 1st bday.

Your DH seems like such a good sport with the meeting of the princesses and wearing the honeymoon shirt. Can't wait for more! :goodvibes ( I wrote my first, and only, TR back in 2006. It is so much work and life seems to always get in the way! So thanks for all of the great updates!).
