Hi Everyone! :wave2:
Just got back about a week ago from a fabulous stay at AKL, and I have a severe Disney Hangover....so of course I must pass the time until my next Disney vacation by nagging my hubby about buying DVC and by reading Dining Reports/Trip Reports. Oh yeah and writing one of my own! :yay:
This is my first time writing my own reviews so please bear with me....i do promise lots of pics and maybe some witty commentary thrown in for kicks.

Here is the cast of characters......

I'm Carolyn....I turned 28 on thie trip (whoa almost 30!) and am originally from Chicago (GO WHITE SOX) I am a chef but currently work at a Bank due to a back injury, but still do cooking gigs on the side. I obviously like food so there isn't much I won't try at least once. I am a sucker for Italian, Greek, and Thai food and of course anything in the form of a pastry.

Here's a pic of me on our last trip...after a few too many glasses of wine at Le Cellier....

http://i412.photobucket.com/albums/pp210/bluechic03/disney%20world%20Feb08/S7300111-1.jpg

My Hubby of almost 5 years Derek (32) is originally from Boston and so I must put up with his Red Sox addiction 'till death do us Part :headache:. His career landed us is Rhode Island and now currently beautiful tropical and balmy....Portland, Maine. He is a true New Englander and so he loves scallops, whole belly clams, shrimp, and Dunkn Donuts! But, he also LOVES steak and claims to love anything I cook......thats a good hubby. :thumbsup2

Here he is on one of his favorite rides....

http://i412.photobucket.com/albums/pp210/bluechic03/disney%20world%20Feb08/S7300149.jpg

A few extended family members will also by included since
A)Derek's brother and wife are among the lucky ones who live near Disney and
B)Some of my family decided to vacation-crash!

Here are the places/meals I will review:

I'm finally starting the review sections:banana: I know this is a bit :offtopic:but man oh man that new Star Trek movie was GREAT. I am not a trekkie but that new Captian Kirk is MANCANDY! I can safely say that because I know my DH is not a diser :lmao:

ok ok on to the real reason we are here.......

Our first meal of our vacation was at the lovely Manchester, NH airport. Our flight was leaving at 7:25pm and we got there at about 5:30pm....seeing as though check-in and security took us all of about 30 seconds (even with the Boston Marathon being that day!) we decided to look around for a food court or something, but no such luck. I was actually craving some Taco Bell (weird I know) so I was a bit bummed, until we found our gate and I turned around. The hallelujah chorus began in my head as I saw a pub/restaurant right across from our gate! It was called the MillTowne Grille. It was very cute and pretty busy, here is what we ordered....

I began with one of my favs.....Bud Light (cant beat PBR though! LOL)

http://i412.photobucket.com/albums/pp210/bluechic03/S7301198.jpg

I decided on the Chicken Pesto Panini=Grilled chicken breast, basil pesto, roasted red peppers, and mozz on grilled ciabatta served w/coleslaw. This was actually pretty dry and tasteless, it needed WAY more pesto, but then again i LOVE sauce. I probably would have said something if our waitress had actually checked on us, or if I hadnt already had 2 beers by the time our food came... I'm usually more forgiving when I'm liquored up :thumbsup2

http://i412.photobucket.com/albums/pp210/bluechic03/S7301200.jpg

DH tried one of their in house brews and enjoyed it, i think it was a lager
http://i412.photobucket.com/albums/pp210/bluechic03/S7301203.jpg
He is also a big fan of pasta so he got the chicken and broccoli pasta. This came with...drum roll please....chicken, broccoli, and pasta! Oh yes and a few roasted red peppers for garnish. This was also pretty dry, the pasta was tossed with very little olive oil/grated parm and that was it. No garlic? Not even a pine nut? For 13.99 you would think they would throw in a few more veggies, but then again we weren't paying Disney prices yet LOL. DH actually turned to me and said "hey your pasta is way better than this", I knew I married a smart man.

oh my god...you are a PBR drinker? You can't even get that down in the south...being a northerner myself, that was all I used to drink! I do love that stuff...I refuse to even drink Bud Lite cause it tastes like yucky stuff that is in the toilet...to me anyway.

So bring on the food porn! I am so ready!

1) I go to college in Rhode Island! Providence is lovely, but when you are born and bred a New Yorker who loves the Yankees, it's a bit rough to be around these Red Sox fans!

2) Can't wait to read these reviews-- you guys went to a lot of places we're going to in August.

3) As a self-described half-trekkie/girlfriend of true trekkie, I was not super impressed with the Star Trek movie. I thought Zach Quinto was a dead ringer for Leonard Nimoy (and my boyfriend!), and a great actor, but I thought the Uhura was not true to character and the Spock/Uhura relationship was just...odd...

PBR RULES  It has been with me since college! lol It is kinda hard to get out East sometimes too, but luckily the little store down the street from my house has it in Cans AND bottles :drinking1

I just love waking up at Disney on the first day of your vacation  We actually planned to sleep in this day since we had a late flight.....but as that little kid said in one of the old commercials...I'm just too excited to sleep! That and the fact I could hear toilets/water running all night :scared1: So we woke up at about 8:30am and decided why not check out the Pop food court while we are here :cool1: This place was very busy but I found it to be very organized and a fun atmosphere. They had some great music playing and the CMs were all super nice. Not like last year at the Pepper Market OMG don't get me started on that place! Ok so here's a pic of POP's Foodcourt.....

http://i412.photobucket.com/albums/pp210/bluechic03/S7301253.jpg

We decided to pay OOP for this meal so we just shared a bottle of Smart Water as our beverage.

I ordered one of those yummy breakfast croissants that I seriously crave every time I go to Disney. I <3 food, but I also am watching my weight most of the time and can never justify eating bacon, eggs, and cheese on a butter pastry.....except when in DISNEY! here it is in all it's glory......

http://i412.photobucket.com/albums/pp210/bluechic03/S7301247.jpg

MAN I am DROOLING The eggs were light and fluffy, bacon crisp, cheese oozy, and croissant buttery...what more can you ask for in life?

DH ordered a Breakfast Wrap and he said it had eggs, bacon, cheese, and he thinks he remembers peppers. Obviously it was in a tortilla, plus it came with a side of breakfast potatoes. He liked it and ate every bite! He also said he thought it was a good value, since his came with potatoes too.

uneaten....
http://i412.photobucket.com/albums/pp210/bluechic03/S7301248.jpg

half eaten so you can see the inside too!
http://i412.photobucket.com/albums/pp210/bluechic03/S7301249.jpg

We really liked it here, they had a huge selection and plenty of seating inside and out. The food was good and fresh too and CMs friendly and helpful. DH and I both thought this was one of the better food courts in Disney.

I usually do too, but this trip we tried to take it a little slower and I'm glad we did. Still made it to a few openings, but actually enjoyed a few breakfasts too. Still, I'm a park commando at heart! I would say definetely do the Pop Food Court at least once :)

Sorry everyone I just spent the last 45 minutes doing my post and then my computer decided to crash and I lost everything!!!!! :scared1: So I must continue tomorrow :( Sorry for the wait but I will do double the reviews tomorrow I promise!

bluechic03

Sorry for the delay! My computer has a mind of it's own...

Ok so after out breakfast at Pop my Aunt and Uncle picked us up and drove us over to AKL to check-in. Then we went over to the vacation house they rented and swam/ate lunch. We were originally going to spend the day at MK, but alas more of my family vacation-crashed and they didn't want to shell out $$$$$$$$$$ for Disney! So we just had sandwiches/potato salad from publix. I do have to say that the house they got was awesome and only cost about 175/night with the heat for the pool....here's a bonus pic of us swimming!

http://i412.photobucket.com/albums/pp210/bluechic03/S7301286.jpg

Ok so after seeing my family for a bit, we were itching to get to the parks! Since they weren't coming with for dinner any more, we were a little worried about showing up with a reservation for 7 but only having 2 people. I was very happy to find out that it was no problem at all. Our ressie was for 6:45pm, we got there at about 6:30 and were seating right away. We sat with a family with one little girl as well as one on the way ( i think from Indiana) and an older couple from Canada who were Disney veterans. We had some awkward dinner conversation at first, but then the beer kicked in and we were a bit friendlier of course.....

I just have to say I really liked this place. The last time I was there was when I was about 5 and all I remember is being mortified when my family made me get up and dance with the band! Apparently these kids didn't care at all....
http://i412.photobucket.com/albums/pp210/bluechic03/S7301336.jpg
http://i412.photobucket.com/albums/pp210/bluechic03/S7301333.jpg

We really enjoyed the atmosphere, I don't know what it is but I'm a sucker for the Disney "you think your outside but you're really inside" theming. Some of my favs this time were Sci-Fi and San Angel Inn. Anyone from Chicago remember The Italian Village in the loop? It used to be the same kinda thing and I loved that place too! Here's some pics of the pretend German Village at night

http://i412.photobucket.com/albums/pp210/bluechic03/S7301320.jpg
http://i412.photobucket.com/albums/pp210/bluechic03/S7301329.jpg
So pretty and relaxing....

So now of course we ordered some beverages...we decided to go with the half liters since we had a few before we got to Epcot (at least my family brings booze!) I had the hefe-weisen (sp?), I always like this type of beer...

http://i412.photobucket.com/albums/pp210/bluechic03/S7301326-1.jpg
( I tried to edit this pic and kinda messed it up, sorry!)

DH had the oktoberfest, he said he didn't expect it to be quite as dark as it was and didn't like it as much as he thought he would. But alas, according to the pics he seemed to enjoy it :lmao:

http://i412.photobucket.com/albums/pp210/bluechic03/S7301325.jpg
http://i412.photobucket.com/albums/pp210/bluechic03/S7301337.jpg

So then we got our food and man everything was GOOD. We go to these really good Bohemian restaurants in Westchester and on the west side of Chicago, and I didn't think this would be anything close to that. But I was pleasantly surprised, they refilled the cold as well as the hot foods very regularly and everything was seasoned well. Here's my first plate...
http://i412.photobucket.com/albums/pp210/bluechic03/S7301322.jpg
Starting from the soup and going clockwise: Potato Leek Soup, macaroni salad, greens with tarragon herb dressing, tomato salad, cucumber dill salad, butter balls, an upside down pretzel roll :worship:, and some assorted german sausages. I seriously ate the whole plate...I'm not ashamed  I Loved everything but my favorites were the soup/pretzel rolls and the cucumber salad. I just love cucumbers and dill MMMMMMMM

And here is DH's 1st plate...

http://i412.photobucket.com/albums/pp210/bluechic03/S7301323.jpg

from the top and going clockwise: Cucumber Dill Salad, sausage salad, pretzel roll, brautwurst with kraut, weinershnitzel with what I think was called hunter's sauce, roasted chicken, and macaroni salad. He too, finished all this off!

We then decided to load up for round two as the entertainment was starting soon. Here's my 2nd plate....It's even bigger than the first...Adios Weight Watchers!
http://i412.photobucket.com/albums/pp210/bluechic03/S7301327.jpg
Pretzel Roll, more cucumber dill salad, butter balls, mac and cheese, salmon, weinershnitzel with hunter's sauce, spaetzel, potato dumpling, carrots, and german sausages. Um Yeah I polished this off too....but I ate pretty slowly during the entertainment so as not to look like too much of a pig :rolleyes1

Here's DH 2nd Plate
http://i412.photobucket.com/albums/pp210/bluechic03/S7301328.jpg

Potato Leek Soup, Beef from the carving station, cucumber salad, what he thinks was german coleslaw?, tomato salad, macaroni salad, pretzel roll, and salmon. DH made me proud and finished his plate too

We then enjoyed the band and the bell ringer guy a bit in order to let all that food and beer party in our tummies. Here they are...
http://i412.photobucket.com/albums/pp210/bluechic03/S7301332.jpg
http://i412.photobucket.com/albums/pp210/bluechic03/S7301334.jpg
http://i412.photobucket.com/albums/pp210/bluechic03/S7301335.jpg

They were SO fun! TICKY TACKY TICKY TACK OY OY OY

I was refusing dessert but then DH said " Hey don't they have blackforest cake here?" and that was all I needed to hear! So here's my dessert plate:
http://i412.photobucket.com/albums/pp210/bluechic03/S7301338.jpg
Notice it doesn't include blackforest cake! They didn't have it tonight...oh well I was stuffed anywayz....starting from the top again....berry cobbler, apple streudel with creme anglaise, chocolate mousse cake, fruit salad, and bavarian cheesecake.
My favorite was the cheesecake...very light and creamy. The only thing I didn't like at this whole place was the chocolate mousse cake. The top was mousse but the middle was like very thick and dark chocolate ganache. WAY too heavy after all the entrees. I just scraped off the top layer of mousse.

Here is DH's desserts
http://i412.photobucket.com/albums/pp210/bluechic03/S7301339.jpg
He had berry cobbler, apple streudel, and TWO pieces of the chocolate cake. He actually really liked this stuff and poured the cobbler over it (which was really like just berries in simple syrup) I tried it with the berries on top and it was actually much better.

Overall we both really the Biergarten, it way surpassed both of our expectations. The service was excellent too. We decided we are going to try and make this a first night meal tradition!

After dinner I was on a "mission from god" for some School Bread! I had never tried this but it looked so good on all the reviews....plus it sounded close to a boston cream donut so I knew DH would like it ;) So we waddled over to Norway and purchased some for breakfast in the morning. Here it is in all it's glory....

Today we started off with opening at AK. This was the first time I actually made it to a park opening, what a difference it makes in terms of getting on the rides! It was great....We started off the day with some food I brought from home. I packed some bagels and was able to get free cream cheese from Mara ;)
Mid morning I saw the Royal Anandapur Tea Company and saw something else I had read about on the DIS....a Chai Freeze! So we stopped to get one and encountered a problem we ran into several times on this trip...their computers were down and unable to accept Dining Plan Credits. WHAT????!!!! I was way more pissed than DH, as he was not the one who budgeted the trip...so we paid OOP for this. You would think they would have a back up system or something, oh well. I did really like the drink though, it was cool and refreshing with just enough spice to it. Here's the pic...
http://i412.photobucket.com/albums/pp210/bluechic03/S7301489.jpg

After a morning of getting on all the rides we wanted, we decided to go back to AKL for a swim and lunch at Mara. We liked Mara as well for its variety and the specialty items. We ate at about 1:15pm and it was pretty empty. I ordered the Chicken Pita (grilled chicken, lettuce, tomato, cucumber and hummus on a pita) with fries and a diet coke. DH ordered the Chicken House Salad (mixed greens, chickpeas, tomatoes, parmesean cheese, and house vinagrette) and a Diet Coke. After last nights portion/calorie fiasco, we decided we were going to make at least one healthy choice a day and today that was fruit for dessert! Although we did decide to share some zebra domes as well, after all I heard how good they were from the DIS :thumbsup2 We also bought the new mug so we saved our Diet Cokes for later.

Here's the new mug design in case you haven't seen it yet

And here's our lunch spread....

And the inside of the Zebra Domes....

They were SOOOOOO GOOD!

This was another great meal. Everything was very fresh, service was great, and the flavors were excellent. The portions were also very big but good for sharing. Plus you can get Zebra Domes for dessert! I highly recommend going here for lunch, especially if you are staying at AKL, instead of the QS places in AK.

After a nice relaxing afternoon lunch, swim, and nap...we headed over to DHS for dinner and EMH. We ate at Sci-Fi last trip and really liked it so we decided to do it again this time. Our ressies were for 7pm, got there about 7:15pm and waited until about 7:40pm to get seated. They were very busy up front and we actually got seated ahead of quite a few people that were waiting around before us. Here's a few pics of the inside of the restaurant

Cartoons!

We were shown to our car and waited for our server.....and waited, and waited, and waited. He finally showed up and was SUPER slow the whole meal. The couple behind us got their food at least 15 minutes after us, even though we ordered a the same time and we got an App! DH and I both ordered Cherry Diet Cokes to drink(sorry no pics). We were paying OOP for this meal (saving credits for Cali Grill) and wanted to get an app instead of a dessert. DH is a major spin dip fan and I <3 onion rings, but in the end the spin dip won out.

http://i412.photobucket.com/albums/pp210/bluechic03/S7301510.jpg
This was pretty good, although the chips were a bit stale. I also thought the portion was a bit small...the bowl is actually pretty shallow. The dip itself tasted like any other hot spin-artichoke dip, creamy/cheesey and delicious.

For my entree I ordered the Beef and Bleu salad: Steak with a wedge of Ice Berg Lettuce, tomatoes, bacon and bleu cheese dressing. This was very good with the steak cooked MR just how I ordered it. The only thing I would recommend is asking for the dressing on the side as there was a TON of it poured all over the salad.

http://i412.photobucket.com/albums/pp210/bluechic03/S7301511.jpg

DH ordered the Reuben with the cucumber melon salad. He enjoyed this alot, he let me have a bite and I liked it too. The cucumber salad was good too, a nice deviation from the normal FF. Don't forget the pickle!

http://i412.photobucket.com/albums/pp210/bluechic03/S7301512.jpg

We like this place again mostly for the atmosphere. The food was decent, and actually reasonably priced for Disney fare. The only problem was the slow server. Next year though I think we will change it up and try 50's Prime-Time for our DHS day. Or maybe splurge on the Brown Derby!

We were planning to do the picnic in the park at AK but now I am thinking I would like to see AKL. So after your review of Mara's I thought that might be a good choice for lunch instead (plus we could use the DDP there - instead of OOP). Would you do Mara's over the picnic? Can you walk to AKL from AK?

I have always wondered what a zebra dome actually was - thanks for showing a pic of the inside. But I am still not sure what all the components are - is that cake and mousse inside?

Thanks for showing your salad at Sci-Fi - I thought it sounded good. I will definitely be asking for the dressing on the side (as I am not a big dressing fan anyway).

Loving your reviews and looking forward to more!! popcorn::

The picnic seemed like a cool idea, but I would go for Mara. It did get pretty crowded during the peak times, but the food was really good and then you can see AKL. Mara is right by the pool too so you can sit near the pool or indoors. You can't walk there, but it is literally a 2 minute bus ride.

The zebra domes have a sponge cake on the bottom and then a mousse filling then covered with a glaze. It didn't say if it was chocolate or not but it tasted like it. The mousse has amarula (sp?) in it, very good...kinda coffee/chocolate tasting. I LOVED them :worship:

Chai is a type of tea, it has some spice flavors to it (think cinnamon/nutmeg kinda spice) it is usually not that sweet naturally brewed hot, but most of the time I get it iced or frozen with lots of cream+sugar and its sooooo good. The chai freeze here was quite sweet and very good. It was a little thinner than a frappucino, but same kinda concept. They also sell chai at starbucks and most other coffee shops.

Thanks! I want to say that they didn't have the normal "kids" section of the buffet there. I obviously remember the mac and cheese but I think it was by the spaetzel and carved meats...I don't remember chicken fingers/pizza or anything like that. But I did see lots of kids there enjoying themselves!

I love your reviews! Great job! :)

Originally for my birthday My Aunt and I were going to go get pedicures at the Grand Floridian Spa....but with my other two Aunts and Uncle now with us we decided to all have breakfast together instead, at Boma! It was very easy for me and DH, since our room was about 10 feet away from the restuarant :thumbsup2 Our ressie was for 10am, checked in at 10 and were seated by 10:10am. The hostess was not as "magical" as most of the other CMs we came across...no smile or friendly voice, just here's your pager wait over there. We were seated very close to the buffet though so that was a nice perk.
Here's the inside of Boma

We really liked the atmosphere. It is made to feel like you are in a giant tent/marketplace in Africa.

We all started with the frunch to drink (blend of orange, pineapple and mango juice mmmmmm) and some had the real coffee which was good too.
Here's the frunch!
http://i412.photobucket.com/albums/pp210/bluechic03/disney%20food%20pics%202009/S7301560.jpg

I felt the buffet was nice and the food was good. It was 16.99/per person and I don't think this included the drinks, which still was a reasonable price. We paid OOP for this meal too to save credits for Cali Grill. One plus was the food was all very fresh and you could see it being prepared behind the buffet, which is always a good sign. They did have made to order omlettes and carved meats. I just felt the selection was smaller than what I imagined, but then again I'm not a huge breakfast fan either.

Heres my first plate:
http://i412.photobucket.com/albums/pp210/bluechic03/disney%20food%20pics%202009/S7301556.jpg

I loaded up on fruit and also got a bagel and some bacon and sausage. I also had an omlette made with peppers, onions, cheese, and ham. This was really yummy.
http://i412.photobucket.com/albums/pp210/bluechic03/disney%20food%20pics%202009/S7301557.jpg

Here's DH first plate:
http://i412.photobucket.com/albums/pp210/bluechic03/disney%20food%20pics%202009/S7301558.jpg

He had french toast (this was actually called something different though I cant remember what, I know it had raisins though), breakfast potatoes, bacon, ham, eggs (which magically disappeared before I could take a pic!), and a sticky bun. DH loved all his food and ate every bite.

Here's my 2nd plate:

http://i412.photobucket.com/albums/pp210/bluechic03/disney%20food%20pics%202009/S7301566.jpg

Starting from the top: Eggs with chives and goat cheese(very good BTW), bacon, turkey bobotie(didn't care for it), croissant, and African fruit salad (had a yogurt dressing YUM)

Here's DH 2nd plates:
http://i412.photobucket.com/albums/pp210/bluechic03/disney%20food%20pics%202009/S7301563.jpg

He had eggs with chives and goat cheese, fruit and a croissant AND

http://i412.photobucket.com/albums/pp210/bluechic03/disney%20food%20pics%202009/S7301564.jpg
yogurt w/granola, which actually looked really good to me but I was stuffed by this point.

BUT it was my B-day and I WAS wearing my B-day button so of course I got...
http://i412.photobucket.com/albums/pp210/bluechic03/disney%20food%20pics%202009/S7301565.jpg
And they sang to me which was really sweet. The highlight of the meal for us was actually our server who was very attentive and friendly. He made sure we were doing OK at all times, cleared plates, and refilled drinks many times. Alot of times I find the buffet servers can sometimes be a little careless...but maybe it was because we were a large party and he knew he would get a bigger tip!:woohoo:

Here's a pic of the fam around the table

Overall we all thought this was a lovely way to start the day, and those that like breakfast more than me seemed to enjoy it much more. I did like it, though it didn't knock my socks off. Our favorites were all the egg dishes and the fresh fruit.

After breakfast we hung out a bit and we showed them around AKL a bit. Here's some bonus pics of the resort!

So after hanging around Main Street a bit, my brother and sister-in law got to MK. We ended up getting the FPs for my brithday since it was a bit crowded and of course I already had bought a bunch of souvenirs! :lmao: Let me tell you they were AWESOME what a way to make it a special day...okok back to the FOOD!

Our dinner ressies were very late (9:55pm!) for O'hana, so we decided to try and eat a later lunch. Since Boma was also so filling this wasnt hard at all. We ended up eating lunch around 3pm after a FULL 4 hours of rides thanks to those FPs! We decided on Pinnochios since I like their salads, and my sister-in-law likes the "figaro" room (she's a cat person...). Although since it was my b-day she let me pick our seats so we could see It's a Small World! Here's our view...

http://i412.photobucket.com/albums/pp210/bluechic03/disney%20food%20pics%202009/S7301648.jpg
Everytime we come here these seats are taken but not today! :cool1:
I didnt get a chance to take a pic of their food, but they had the pizza w/salad combo. They enjoyed it. DH and I both got the same thing. The Medditeranean Salad

http://i412.photobucket.com/albums/pp210/bluechic03/disney%20food%20pics%202009/S7301643.jpg

YUM YUM I really like this salad. Like I said before, I'm a sucker for anything with Medditeranean flavors. This salad has roasted red peppers, black olives, fresh mozz, and chicken. Basically all my favorites. It also comes with some garlic flat bread that is also very good. You can also have your choice of dressing, granted they are in packet form but they are still pretty decent. For dessert was the strawberry cheesecake, this was just ok. I used to also love this place because they had one of my favorite desserts of all time...cannolis! But, they dont have them anymore :( I do remember last time they were a bit soggy, but still better than the cheesecake that is served at so many other QS places.

After lunch we headed down to Adventureland for more rides and show. On the way back through to Main Street I HAD to have me one of those famous Dole Whips. Can you believe I had never had one? A crime I tell you...so I walked up there with my b-day button on and ordered the swirl with vanilla and pineapple. I was fully prepared for the hollow middle smaller serving but I got THIS!

http://i412.photobucket.com/albums/pp210/bluechic03/disney%20food%20pics%202009/S7301637.jpg

The guy just smiled and said Happy Birthday! The thing was HUGE! And fully solid in the middle I might add! After my brother and sister-in law saw mine they decided to get one and they got the dinky hollow middle verson :rotfl::lmao::lmao::rotfl: They just looked at me like seriously? Anyway at least the birthday girl was happy! By the way it was sooooooo good!

Ok so after that we just finished up some rides and shopped a bit since I wanted to stick around for the 9pm SpectroMagic parade. We lined up around 8:30pm for the parade on Main Street, but I was a bit hungry and had always wanted to try Casey's...so DH staked out our spot and I got us a snack! Here's another DIS board discovery Corn Dog Nuggets!

I had never tried one either! In fact, on my last trip, we specifically made a stop at this place in Adventureland. My mom, out of all things, wanted to get some juice. JUICE?! You've got to be kidding me! I didn't want her wasting a snack credit on just juice. So, to keep us both happy, I ordered the Pineapple Float to share. Oh my goodness. This was amazing! The frozen chai tea was over in Asia near the exit of Maharajah Jungle Trek I believe. The stand is called Royal Anandapur Tea Company...It was very small and down a few steps, a little but hidden....

I was SO excited abour O'Hana! I love the type of food they serve and really wanted to see Wishes for my b-day from here. So after SpectroMagic we took the monorail over to the Poly for our 9:55pm ressie.

I actually was expecting to be very impressed with this hotel, but I was very surprised at my reaction. I stayed here when I was little and remember thinking how cool this place was, but the lobby looked to me a bit outdated. I felt for the amount of $$$$ it costs to stay here, I would be more impressed.

Here's a pic of the entrance to the restaurant
http://i412.photobucket.com/albums/pp210/bluechic03/disney%20food%20pics%202009/S7301739.jpg
We got up to O'hana about 9:45 and saw a LOT of tables empty, which made me very annoyed considering they kept telling me this was the only time available for a party of 4. So we sat down in the lobby and waited, and waited, and waited. By this time I was getting quite anxious since Wishes was at 10pm and I really wanted to watch it from our table, plus there were maybe like 5 tables full at this point. So DH went up and begged for us to be seated...the hostess said well everyone is waiting for the fireworks. DH saw a table right by the windows and said umm how bout THAT one. So then the host said FINE and sat us there. The table was still dirty and when I sat down the chair cushion was WET. But not only Wet, SMELLY! Ewwwwwwwwww All I could think of was if some kid peed on it :scared1: Oh well not a good way to start of my b-day dinner! But then the lights dimmed and Wishes started...oh yeah and our drinks came, so that calmed me down :drinking1

http://i412.photobucket.com/albums/pp210/bluechic03/disney%20food%20pics%202009/S7301729.jpg
My sister in law had a cocktail, I think it was called the antioxidant cocktail

http://i412.photobucket.com/albums/pp210/bluechic03/disney%20food%20pics%202009/S7301730.jpg
DH I had a few glasses of this! YUM

Then my sister in law went to use the bathroom. She came back horrifed and said the men's room had flooded and the water was all over the hallway! She sad she had to go down tot he main floor and the water was dripping through the ceiling! Strike 2 for the Poly.....

When she got back they started bringing out the food very quickly since we seemed to be the last table seated.

First came
http://i412.photobucket.com/albums/pp210/bluechic03/disney%20food%20pics%202009/S7301726.jpg
this was yummy, a bit sweet which i <3

then came
http://i412.photobucket.com/albums/pp210/bluechic03/disney%20food%20pics%202009/S7301728.jpg
MMMMMMM I loved the salad! That lime dresing is DElicious

Next was
http://i412.photobucket.com/albums/pp210/bluechic03/disney%20food%20pics%202009/S7301731.jpg
and
http://i412.photobucket.com/albums/pp210/bluechic03/disney%20food%20pics%202009/S7301732.jpg
The potstickers were actually a bit stale and chewy, but we still ate them with extra sauce! I actually prefered the wings, the sauce was super yummy

then they brought the
http://i412.photobucket.com/albums/pp210/bluechic03/disney%20food%20pics%202009/S7301733.jpg
and everyone's fav...
http://i412.photobucket.com/albums/pp210/bluechic03/disney%20food%20pics%202009/S7301734.jpg
JK! Of course we hardly touched the freezing cold broccoli...

Then they brought all the meats at once and said does everyone want some of everything? And basically dumped it on our plates....at this point I was feeling like they wanted us to hurry up and leave! which was not a nice feeling :( I actually didnt take any pics of the meat since I was a bit upset. But DH was very sweet and kept telling me there would be a surprise which kept me upbeat. I did like all the meats, although they didnt even tell us what sauces were what so we just kinda did our own thing with those.

Then my sister in law decided we all needed to get "layed" and kept pestering our server until he finally brought us some! So heres DH

http://i412.photobucket.com/albums/pp210/bluechic03/disney%20food%20pics%202009/S7301735.jpg
and here's how many he gave me!
http://i412.photobucket.com/albums/pp210/bluechic03/disney%20food%20pics%202009/S7301737.jpg
Our server started to be a bit nicer then and started chatting with us. He brought the dessert (sorry no pic!) and then a CAKE!!! YAY I got a b-day Cake! :cake: I was so excited since I didnt think I would get one this year since we were in Disney :) I have such a sweet DH! He even got the 8person one so they could write on it. We ate about 2 slivers of the thing and then it sat in our fridge until we left :( Anyway here it is! Don't mind the drunk girl in the pic...
http://i412.photobucket.com/albums/pp210/bluechic03/disney%20food%20pics%202009/S7301738.jpg
Hey I had to make this meal better somehow! DISCLAIMER: The RedSox hat was a b-day gift, my Sister-in-law works for them during springtraining! Otherwise I would not be wearing it!

Overall I was a dissapointed with the Poly and O'hana. I expected a lot more from this place with all the good reviews I've seen. We may return but it definetely wont be for QUITE a while. My favs were the bread, salad, wings, and dessert. The meats were just ok and the potstickers were just subpar. My DH and family made it a GREAT birthday though so no worries!

After a fantastic Disney birthday I was amped up and ready for DHS the next morning. We made it for opening and got on lots of rides (including TSM twice yay!) and wanted to make the Indiana Jones Stunt Show. We decided to go to Backlot Express, we always like it here and it was very close to the Indiana Jones Stunt show. I really like their variety of entrees too ( I am one who tends to steer clear of Disney QS cheeseburgers).
Here's a pic of the inside
http://i412.photobucket.com/albums/pp210/bluechic03/disney%20food%20pics%202009/S7301754.jpg
they also have outdoor covered seating. They do have burgers/chicken nuggets for those in your party that want basic fare, but they also have a Southwest Salad and our favs the Veggie Sandwich and Grilled Turkey Sandwich. So we ordered one of each of the sandwiches to share!
Here's our spread
http://i412.photobucket.com/albums/pp210/bluechic03/disney%20food%20pics%202009/S7301755.jpg
The veggie sandwich comes with a side of black bean salad, which I wasnt sure if we would like. So I asked for fries instead, but the cashier said you couldnt sub anything but since I was on the DP then you could get fries TOO! She said the black bean salad counted as a garnish on the DP, so that's why there are extra fries on the tray. We actually both really liked it though, had lime in it which we both LOVE. For dessert DH got the cheesecake...just ok he said. I got the no sugar added parfait which I always enjoy. I like the healthier stuff most of the time so anything to help the cause in Disney I appreciate :thumbsup2 The sandwiches were both good, the turkey seemed a little soggy this time though, but had good flavor with the roasted red peppers. The veggie one was nice and crispy outside with yummy gooey cheese and perfectly grilled veggies inside.
After lunch we rolled on over to watch Indiana Jones. Then we watched Beauty and the Beast...after this DH somehow convinced me to go on ToT! He went first and told me I would like it, so I trusted him. Plus he promised me a Mickey Premium (for some reason food bribes always work on me:confused3) So I did it and LOVED it! Then we tried getting the Mickey Premium...remember when the chai tea place couldnt accept DP credits? well after waiting in line for 20 min I was told the same thing. Let me tell you I was NOT happy:scared1:. The girl radioed another cart somehow and told me the stand by the exit was working and had them. I was pretty annoyed, but I wasnt about to pay OOP for another snack! So we hoofed it up to the exit and FINALLY got me one of these!
http://i412.photobucket.com/albums/pp210/bluechic03/disney%20food%20pics%202009/S7301769.jpg
http://i412.photobucket.com/albums/pp210/bluechic03/disney%20food%20pics%202009/S7301770.jpg
And here's me all happy with my ice cream
http://i412.photobucket.com/albums/pp210/bluechic03/disney%20food%20pics%202009/S7301771.jpg
Since we were already by the exit we decided to take the boat to Epcot to meet DHs brother and wife again for dinner.

Up Next: San Angel Inn....will we like it?

I found the same problem with our late dinner. We had eaten at O'hana a couple of times before; once at the 1st dinner seating at 5pm and then at a 6:15 seating the next time we were there. Both times were FABULOUS, fresh and fun. I had heard all the hipe about eating at O'hana to see wishes so I scheduled an 8:20 ressie for 9:00 wishes and boy was that a mistake! It was like we were getting the bottom of the barrel of every food they were serving. Nothing was fresh and we were feeling very rushed. I do love O'hana but we will stick to a normal dinner time between 5-6:30pm. We had even a worse experience at 50's prime time. Our ressie was at 7:55 with a park closing at 8pm. We were set toward the back of the restraunt, close to the kitchen. They had started cleaning up throughout the restraunt and there were only about 10 partys left in the place. The service was horrible, the food was nasty and the CM's were hollaring across the restraunt at each other talking about trying to hurry and get out of there so they could go to some party they were invited to. It was like we weren't even there. The late reservations have been 2 of the worse that we have experienced at Disney. No more late ressies for us. If that is the only ADR that is available, we will choose not to take it and find something else that is available earlier in the evening.:thumbsup2

Sorry you had such a bad experience at 'Ohana. We ate there last year for the first time and really enjoyed it. I always get the first dinner ressies. We like to eat early, and the food is usually better and the service too.

I thought that had something to do with it, but when I kept calling the week before they kept saying the restaurant was open until 11pm and they kept qouting me later times for parties of 4! Oh well maybe we'll try it again earlier!

I'm enjoying you dining report!

Sorry everyone for the long delay! I know its a bit :offtopic: but I figured I would let you all know what took so long. For the last few weeks I have been getting terrible acid reflux and kept burping all the time (sorry TMI!) as well as being SUPER tired. I kept putting off going to the doctor until I lost my lunch last week and everyone at work starting nagging me to take a pregnancy test. Well guess what? It was POSITIVE!!!!! :yay:So needless to say the combination of not feeling so good and shock have prevented me from being on the DIS :rotfl: I went to the doctor today and got the official thumbs up that I am indeed pregnant so please send me good thoughts and prayers! :goodvibes So next time we go to Disney I will hopefully be one of those people with the giant strollers taking out everybody's ankles :rotfl2:
Ok on with the show!

We took the boat over to Epcot from DHS and made our way over to San Angel Inn by about 5pm. We had 5:30pm ressies for a party of 2, but my BIL and SIL decided to join us for another few days. We walked up to the podium and they were able to take us as a party of 4 right away! :thumbsup2
We didnt get a table right by the water (if I remember correctly those tables were for larger parties as well as a few tables for 2) But we did have a nice view a few rows back.
http://i412.photobucket.com/albums/pp210/bluechic03/disney%20food%20pics%202009/S7301774.jpg
Sorry this ones so blurry!

I have always wanted to eat here since we always ride the boat ride, and I get jealous of the people in the restaurant :lmao: After all the negative reviews I was expecting the service and food to be terrible and just check this restaurant off my list of must-dos. But we were very pleasantly surprised! We had a very nice and efficient server who brought these puppies out right away:
http://i412.photobucket.com/albums/pp210/bluechic03/disney%20food%20pics%202009/S7301772.jpg
They were actually pretty good! I mean the chips could have been much better if they were cooked there but the salsa was quite yummy. I could tell it was fresh and not canned. We went through two baskets of chips and salsa!

DH and I both had Tecata Beer but I forgot to take pics of those. For our entrees BIL and SIL ordered the same thing (allears.net)
Pollo A Las Rajas - grilled chicken breast served over red peppers, onion strips, cream sauce, and fresh cheese $24

http://i412.photobucket.com/albums/pp210/bluechic03/disney%20food%20pics%202009/S7301778.jpg

They both really enjoyed it. They said it had a little spice but was very creamy and had wonderful flavor.

DH had (allears.net)Puntas de Filete en Salsa Guajillo - Beef tenderloin tips sautéed with fresh onions and chile Guajillo sauce, served over corn tortillas, black beans, and fresh cheese $28

http://i412.photobucket.com/albums/pp210/bluechic03/disney%20food%20pics%202009/S7301777.jpg

He was happy with his...although somehow he thought he was getting a whole steak, even though the menu said right on it steak TIPS :confused3
I tasted it and it had a nice smokey flavor, tasted like ancho chiles to me (smoked poblano peppers) The only thing he said was lacking was more of a side dish, he said he felt "jipped" with the black beans.

and I ordered (allears.net)Filete Motuleno - Grilled beef tenderloin with beans, Oaxaco melted cheese, Ranchero sauce, Pablano peppers, and fried plaintain $32

http://i412.photobucket.com/albums/pp210/bluechic03/disney%20food%20pics%202009/S7301776.jpg
All I can say is YUM I ordered this because i LOVE plantains, oaxaca cheese, and poblanos....add those things to a filet of beef and I'm in heaven. I would have been very upset if it had sucked considering it had some of my favorite Latin cuisine ingredients. But alas it was SCRUMPTIOUS and I ate every bit. They even cooked my steak perfectly to MR! I love it when they dont overcook my steak :goodvibes

For dessert SIL and BIL ordered: (allears.net) Flan de Vainilla - vanilla custard in syrup, topped with roasted almonds $5.75

http://i412.photobucket.com/albums/pp210/bluechic03/disney%20food%20pics%202009/S7301780.jpg
They liked it and said the sauce was really what made it.

DH and I both had The Special which was a white chocolate mousse with berries in a phyllo shell served with caramel sauce.
http://i412.photobucket.com/albums/pp210/bluechic03/disney%20food%20pics%202009/S7301779.jpg
This was SOOOOOO GOOD It was light and the perfect ending to this meal. I literally tried to lick the plate but DH said I couldnt

All 4 of us LOVED San Angel Inn....I guess we are crazy or something :rotfl:
Seeing that most people give it a big thumbs down. I give it a HUGE :thumbsup2 Maybe it had a lot to do with the combination of the relaxing atmosphere, the beers, and the food but we had a great time. It is on our must-do list for next trip!:wizard:

We woke up this day (Sat) and decided to take a breather and just hang by the pool/relax. BIL and SIL decided to stay yet another night and hang out with us so they joined us by the pool. Here's some bonus picks of the giraffes we saw near the pool

I have to say it is SO amazing having the animals around all the time!
After a few hours by the pool we decided to eat at Mara yet again since it was SO good last time. We looked at the menu, totally intending to try something new, and ended up getting exactly what we got last time :lmao:
BIL and SIL did order two flatbreads, but I didnt get a pic! Of course this is the only meal I let DH take the pics and he forgot their food....
Here's a shot of what we ordered yet again
http://i412.photobucket.com/albums/pp210/bluechic03/disney%20food%20pics%202009/S7301807.jpg
you can kinda see BIL and SIL's food in the background :lmao:
From the top....Fruit bowl, Chicken House Salad, Chicken Pita w/fries, and Zebra Domes. this was all SOOOOOOOOO YUMMY again! The only problem this time was the line was terribly long and unorganized. This time we ate at about 12:30pm, peak lunch time, and it was just chaos. We were able to find seating pretty well though, and the food was DELICIOUS.

After lunch we said goodbye to BIL and SIL as they were driving back to Ft.Myers. They were even kind enough to drop us off at Epcot! We arrived around 3 and made our way around world showcase a bit. Here's some shots of the topiaries at the front of WS for the Flower and Garden Festival. These are all of The Lion King, SO COOL!

We arrived at Le Cellier right on time at 5pm, and we were seated in about 5min. They were turning everyone away at the door, but it wasnt too crowded outside waiting. Here's some shots form the outside of the resturant.

Our server brought some of this out right away!
http://i412.photobucket.com/albums/pp210/bluechic03/disney%20food%20pics%202009/S7301838.jpg
YUMMMMMM The bread is sooo good here! I love all three but the pretzel bread is fantastic :cool1: from the top theres pretzel, white, and multigrain

I ordered the three course meal for the DP and started with the cheese soup
http://i412.photobucket.com/albums/pp210/bluechic03/disney%20food%20pics%202009/S7301840.jpg
I ordered this last time and wasnt a big fan, but I was really hoping to love it this time. Truth is I didnt LOVE it like most people say on here. It was good, but to me the tanginess was overpowering. But I dipped the pretzel bread in it and that was pretty good.

For our meals I ordered the Prime Rib
http://i412.photobucket.com/albums/pp210/bluechic03/disney%20food%20pics%202009/S7301841.jpg
I wanted to try something different then a filet, and this was pretty good as well. Again not fall off my chair great, but generally good. It came as I ordered it (MR) and I really liked the cream cheese mashed potatoes.

DH ordered the mushroom filet with the cream cheese mashed potatoes
http://i412.photobucket.com/albums/pp210/bluechic03/disney%20food%20pics%202009/S7301842.jpg
He LOVED his. I tried it and it made me wish I hadnt gotten the 3course meal and just stuck with the filet. But oh well, I know for next time!

For dessert I had the Chocolate Mousse
http://i412.photobucket.com/albums/pp210/bluechic03/disney%20food%20pics%202009/S7301844.jpg
This was super cute and very good! The mousse was really good but very filling after such a heavy meal. I think I just ate his mouth part and antlers :lmao:

DH had the maple creme brulee
http://i412.photobucket.com/albums/pp210/bluechic03/disney%20food%20pics%202009/S7301845.jpg
He liked this as well. I LOVE creme brulee, so he let me have a bite. EW I didnt like it at all! But then again I'm not a huge maple fan so I dont know what I was expecting :rotfl: It was cooked perfectly though, which is half the battle with creme brulee.

Overall I like Le Cellier....but it never quite lives up to all the hype for me. I feel like my local Wildfire at home in Chicago is better :confused3 But it is a good value for the DDP and I LOVE their bread, so we will probably eat here again. I think we will skip it next trip though and try something new!

Next up....Lunch at DHS and California Grill!

I love Wildfire here in Chicago. I too grew up on the Southwest Side of Chicago - GO WHITE SOX . I do have some bad news, this was the last year for the South Side Irish parade!! It has gotten too big and there were too many "incidents" this year. It is really sad, my DH proposed to me at the parade and my DD has marched in it with her Irish Dance school for the last 11 years. We will really miss it. Too bad some had to ruin it for others.

We spent the morning at DHS dividing our team between RnR and Tot! I just couldnt get enough once I went on them :lmao: For lunch we went to Catalina Eddie's (one of the stands at the Sunset Farmstand row of restaurants) We forgot our camera today so no pics :( but we both had salads with pizza and from what we remember it was good. After DHS we went over to MK for a bit and then made our way over to the Contemporary for our 8:55pm ressies at California Grill. We strolled around the gift shops a bit and we found they had fudge and other yummy looking sweets :)
http://i412.photobucket.com/albums/pp210/bluechic03/disney%20food%20pics%202009/S7301882.jpg

http://i412.photobucket.com/albums/pp210/bluechic03/disney%20food%20pics%202009/S7301881.jpg
We then went over to the desk in the lobby to check in at California Grill.
We were seated very quickly evern though we asked for a window seat. DH mentioned we were celebrating my Birthday, and we got an AWESOME view. We were right on the windows with a stright on view of the castle. I just couldn't believe it!
I couldn't get a very good pic of the castle because of the windows....but you get the idea
http://i412.photobucket.com/albums/pp210/bluechic03/disney%20food%20pics%202009/S7301891.jpg
Here's me at the table so happy!
http://i412.photobucket.com/albums/pp210/bluechic03/disney%20food%20pics%202009/S7301886.jpg
And a few shots of the table
http://i412.photobucket.com/albums/pp210/bluechic03/disney%20food%20pics%202009/S7301887.jpg
http://i412.photobucket.com/albums/pp210/bluechic03/disney%20food%20pics%202009/S7301890.jpg
http://i412.photobucket.com/albums/pp210/bluechic03/disney%20food%20pics%202009/S7301888.jpg
We decided to split a bottle of wine...It was a Zinfindel blend...Oh yeah, and it was from California :rotfl: This was very tasty!

http://i412.photobucket.com/albums/pp210/bluechic03/disney%20food%20pics%202009/S7301896.jpg
With the wine came some bread which was warm and yummy. Also, I really liked how they added sea salt to the butter YUM
Now my original plan was for us to just use 2 TS credits here and split an entree and dessert because I knew DH wanted sushi and I wanted to try a flatbread. We ended up ordering some sushi for DH, half California Roll and half Salmon Roll. And yes there's one missing...DH couldnt wait!
http://i412.photobucket.com/albums/pp210/bluechic03/disney%20food%20pics%202009/S7301893.jpg
At this point we realized we had enough credits for us to each get an entree and dessert. Therefore I opted for the Creamy Asparagus soup instead of a flatbread. I thought I would be stuffed if I ordered a flatbread too!
http://i412.photobucket.com/albums/pp210/bluechic03/disney%20food%20pics%202009/S7301895.jpg
This is actually a half portion, they split it for me and DH because he wanted to try it. The soup was DELICIOUS. Very creamy with wonderful asparagus flavor, I think there was truffle oil on top too MMMMMMMM

DH ordered for his entree: (allears.net)
Oak-fired Filet of Beef with cheesy Yukon gold potato mash, sautéed broccolini, and and teriyaki barbecue sauce $44
http://i412.photobucket.com/albums/pp210/bluechic03/disney%20food%20pics%202009/S7301902.jpg
He LOVED it! He kept making the mmmm sounds all the way through :lmao: He let me try some and it was good, but Im glad I didnt order it. Something about the BBQ sauce I didnt like....
I ordered: (allears.net)
Grilled Pork Tenderloin with goat cheese polenta, button mushrooms and zinfandel glaze $32
http://i412.photobucket.com/albums/pp210/bluechic03/disney%20food%20pics%202009/S7301901.jpg
O....M....G....this was SOOOOOO GOOD. It melted in my mouth it was so good. The pork was cooked perfectly to Med, the polenta cheesey/creamy deliciousness and the sauce was out of this world. They topped it with some fried sage that paired well with the pork. This was just fantastic. Only problem was I was STUFFED already and only ate about 2/3rds of this  I was so mad I couldnt finish the whole thing! Oh well right abour now Wishes started and that made me happy to digest what I could fit in my tummy :woohoo: Wishes from our table was one of my favorite memories from thie trip . It brought tears to my eyes it was so beautiful! And our view was just perfect  thanks to DH!

After Wishes our server came out with this
http://i412.photobucket.com/albums/pp210/bluechic03/disney%20food%20pics%202009/S7301908.jpg
My free B-day dessert which was some super rich chocolate cake with raspberry sauce. We barely touched this because I knew I wanted the original. So I ordered it and had a few bites...
http://i412.photobucket.com/albums/pp210/bluechic03/disney%20food%20pics%202009/S7301909.jpg
Allears.net:The Original" - The California Grill's legendary butterscotch creme brulee with a duo of banana cakes and caramelized bananas $11

The banana cakes I didnt like....WAY too heavy. The creme brulee was delicious though, WAY better then Le Cellier IMO, only wish I could have eaten more of it!

DH ordered something to-go because he was too full. What it was I couldn't tell ya, I totally forgot to take a pic and we totally forgot it was in our fride until we were packing to leave! I felt terrible wasting a whole California Grill dessert!

Overall we loved California Grill and will definetely be back. The cuisine is simple yet delicious and the service was excellent. The only down side....we were SO full from this meal we were up all night! Next time we will definetely be splitting an entree and dessert :thumbsup2
Next up: Our last day at the parks :(

Congrats on the baby. You are going to be shocked on how different Disney is now with a little one. We went last year with DD3 and it was amazing. Seeing the disney magic through your childs eyes is what it is about. I wish you a healthy nine months and a healthy baby, you are going to be blessed.

Bluechic3- From what I heard it was not really all the people who get too "inebriated" at the parade but "groups" a.k.a gangs, fighting in the CVS parking lot, parks etc. It was very bad. My friend was right in front of the CVS where one of the gang fights broke out, she had her 2 young children with her and it was really bad. Luckily there were some caring people there and tried to shield all of the children from seeing it and got them out of that area asap. From what I hear the Mayor of Evergreen Park is trying to take over the parade and move it further north on Western? After the violence this year I don't know if I would even go back to it.

By the way, the pork tenderloin at California Grill was my favorite dish ever in WDW, just me and DH ate there in Dec 07 for my 40th Bday and had a great window seat. It was the best dining experience we have had in WDW. Maybe because it was adult only trip?;)

Im very excited about that, I knew DH wanted kids when
A) we waited in line for Dumbo and he said "look at all the cute kids"....ya know the ones screaming and crying....
and B) He told me he wanted to be the guy carrying the princess/pirate backpack for his child LOL

Sorry it took so long to get back on here! I have been EXHAUSTED....like I come home from work and cant drag myself off the couch exhausted....so please forgive me :guilty: I am here to finish up now though so here we go!

Monday was our final day in the parks and we had to spend the day at MK! We actually had a pretty restless night after over doing it at California Grill and were still feeling a little quesy in the morning. We made it to MK about 10:30am and it wasnt too crowded at all. After going on a few rides and finally checking out Tom Sawyer Island (wait the raft just goes over there?) we decided to get some lunch at CHH. I was really looking forward to trying this place but still wasnt feeling very good. The atmosphere was very nautical and reminded me very much of New England. I wasnt too thrilled with the decor....but maybe because I see it a lot where I live LOL. Here's some shots of the inside

and here's a pic of the menu
http://i412.photobucket.com/albums/pp210/bluechic03/disney%20food%20pics%202009/S7301940.jpg
I was planning on getting the Tuna but my stomach just said NO WAY. DH ended up getting the Tuna w/chips and I had the fish/chicken basket with fries. We both had the apple pie for dessert and diet cokes.
http://i412.photobucket.com/albums/pp210/bluechic03/disney%20food%20pics%202009/S7301942.jpg
Now maybe it was my tummy but i wasnt very thrilled with this place. The fish was GROSS very greasey and tasted FISHY....not fresh at all. The chicken was ok...I ate mostly that and the apple pie. DH liked his sandwich though, I tried it and the bread was more stale then toasted to me though. I'm for sure skipping this place indefinetely for now....

Up next: out last meal!

Sorry everyone I was about to do my last installment when my computer totally crashed :headache:! oh well I'm back finally (very upsetting not being able to go on the DIS!) so I know its been a while but I felt guilty not finishing up!

Our last meal was supposed to be at Chef Mickey's for dinner at 5pm. But when we were at MK that last day, I just didn't want to leave to eat at a resort so I tried calling to see if I could get a ressie at CP...tok me 3 tries but I finally got one and it was for 6:30pm! :yay: We arrived at about 6:15pm and had to wait until about 6:50 to be sat...it was very crowded, but hey I wasn't complaining cuz this was last minute anyway. We actually enjoyed sitting on the front porch and even got to watch the Move It Shake It Celebrate It parade come down Main Street.

We were seated to the left of the front doors when you walk in. Our table was nice and our server was OK.
Here's me at the table

She at least refilled the drinks quickly, just not so good at moving the dirty plates. The characters came around right away which was nice because we got our pics and then could eat without being worried we missed anyone while at the buffet :cool1:

After the character pics we went up to the buffet and got our food. We've eaten here before and it was pretty much the same as I remember. Except they had a yummy Tomato & Mozzarella Salad (I could eat Caprese Salad all day everyday anyway) Here's our plates
http://i412.photobucket.com/albums/pp210/bluechic03/disney%20food%20pics%202009/S7302029.jpg
This was mine and it has....
Green Salad, Pasta Salad, Shrimp/cocktail sauce, and Tomato Mozz Salad

http://i412.photobucket.com/albums/pp210/bluechic03/disney%20food%20pics%202009/S7302032.jpg
DH started with....
Shrimp, Chicken Nuggets, Pasta Salad, Corn Bread, Broc/Carrots, and Tomato Mozz Salad
http://i412.photobucket.com/albums/pp210/bluechic03/disney%20food%20pics%202009/S7302033.jpg

I wasnt too into the desserts anywayz so we just split some Key Lime Pie and Apple Cobbler with Ice Cream

Overall this was a nice ending meal for our trip. We were glad we didn't waste precious MK time going to another resort to eat. We always like it here and we will probably be back again (especially next time when we will have a baby with us YAY!)

Thanks everyone for reading!! :thumbsup2

I really enjoyed reading your reviews & seeing your pictures~ I was sad when I came to the end of them! Next time you'll just have to take a longer trip so that we have more to read ;)
Congratulations on your pregnancy!
