I just put through my ticket order for mickeys not so scary, then I realised I have no idea what to wear! (My partner and I used to enter cosplay contests together when we were younger, so any excuse to make a costume!)
Since we are flying from Australia, the big traditional princess ball gowns are going to be really hard to transport and other than those I have no ideas for costumes at all!
My lovely partner has her heart set on Mulan for her costume, and the only ideas I can think of are either too hard to transport, or would look too silly!
Any ideas for non-traditional costumes that would be easy to transport?
Even better if anyone can think of any characters with pink hair it would save me buying a wig!
I have to admit that Im in love with this:

but obviously would need to remake it into a bigger size! (isnt it sad how all the pretty costumes are only for little ones?)
It reminds me of the Japanese dresses I wear normally too, which is a bonus :)
any quirky ideas or inspiration? which costumes have you worn in the past?
Feel free to delete if this is terribly off-topic :upsidedow

Rob, that is actually a pretty good idea. You can find 80's stuff in just about any consignment shop I would think...

I'm with one of those shows that criticizes what people wear called "Closet Purge". Surprisingly, I'm not that opposed to some of the things I've found in here. :scratchin Lots of florals and metallics.......but the pleather has gotta go. :rolleyes1

Oh. You've gotten yourself confused, MonorailMan. ::yes::
You're in Wally's closet instead.
You might want to run away before he closes the door and locks you :rotfl:in. :rotfl:

Jem is truly truly truly outrageous!!!! :goodvibes
Which is sadder, that I'm seriously considering this idea or that I'm a Jem fangilrl?
Though her hair is longer than mine, I should have gotten my partner to go as jerica benton lol.

I love the Jem idea. You totally have to get the star earrings of course. But I love the Cyndi one even better. That's what they called me around the house when I was kid(you know, eons ago)
We were thinking of going as Malice in Wonderland and Scary **** Mad Hatter. That hat is going to be in a PITA to transport though.
