Staying at OKW in September...
w/ 2 kids...
Trying to decide if bus trans is adequate...
have heard that busses run every 1/2 hour. Hear that they only go to Ticket and Transportation Center only?
Should I rent a car or use bus

The busses run to every park, just like any other resort. They go to the front gate at MK, not TTC. They may only be every half hour, especially during the middle of the day. I'm not fond of busses, so we always rent a car, no matter where we stay. I timed it driving to MK from OKW on our trip last month, from our front door (car parked right outside) to the MK front gate, it was 25 minutes. The other parks were less.
Scott, you may want to reconsider. OKW is a beautful resort and if you get a 1 or 2 bedroom, you have lots of space and amenities (full kitchen, living room, laundry room, jacuzzi). The studios have a microwave, small fridge.

The buses go to every park like other resorts. They run around every 20 minutes. The only time we found long waits this past trip was at the end of the day after the park closed. There is also a pontoon boat that takes you to Downtown Disney if you would prefer a nice ride that way vs. the bus.
What may take the time is the stops within the resort itself. There are five stops and it does seem like forever until you get to your stop or get out of the resort. We do like having a rental car and you can park your car right outside the villa. We did see a difference in the transportation system from our trip last year to this year with buses breaking down and no a/c, etc, but I don't think that is a problem with OKW but the entire system of cutbacks within WDW. 20-25 minutes seem like a lifetime when you have kids sometime!!!!
There is a big difference between the one a two bedroom villas and a hotel room. I agree with Debbie, you should reconsider not "bailing". You won't go wrong with the space with children; they could be in one bedroom while you are in another area and not step all over each other trying to get to the bathroom! If you were in a studio and got the same price for concierge, well, okay, but if you had a one or two bedroom, I think you are probably making a mistake!
