Yes, I AM the Upgrade Queen! 8/1 MK Parade

So after Monster's Inc, we hit a couple of other attractions, and then started making our way to the parade route. I hadn't seen the parade in a couple of years and I love the interaction between the characters and the kids here so I made up my mind that we would definitely see this.

Jeff is not a parade person, and his sister didn't want to "waste time" with it either, but I was going with or without them. And Ally was on my side.

So everyone agreed to go grab a seat. We were seated diagonally across from Casey's, which would make for an easy exit after the parade.

Yes, our trip was almost at an end at this point.

We were positioned right next to a few college aged kids, who I quickly figured out where off duty CMs. And then it didn't take long to figure out they were not only off duty CMs, but off duty CMs who perform in the parade!!!!

They knew everyone in the parade, and were sooooo obnoxious about it! It was nonstop screams of "Dopey, I love you, come give me a hug!" Or similar nonsense.

And the bad part was, each character rushed over to our side of the parade route, to "talk" to or hug, these obnoxious people. Luckily for us, Ally was next in line so she got handshakes or hugs from a lot of characters this time, but the other side of the street was completely ignored.

And I actually saw Tweedle Dee (or was it Dum?) who tried to "talk" to the gal next to us. Uh, isn't that a big no-no for characters???? I almost took their pics and sent it to Disney later. Because seriously, there was just no place for that. Not with real paying guests up and down the street. And kids who really "believe" and would be thrilled to meet the characters.

Oh, and great news!!! Check out my new ticker! We just booked a weekend in December at WL! This will add another notch to my resort belt!

And I just redecorated our bonus room upstairs - Disney of course! I'll post pics of that coming up, too!

Whoo, hoo! Congrats! I forgot - are you going to the MVMCP? Have you been before? We can go one night while we are there, but I haven't decided yet.

Sorry to hear about the characters not behaving, but you did get some great parade shots being next to their friends. I hope they didn't ruin it for some little one, if they heard them talk!

Awww, thank you!!! I'm so glad that every once in awhile the guests can brighten the CMs day!!! I love spending time talking to the CMs while we are there - we learn so much from them and truly appreciate them for making my daughter's dreams really come true!!!

Originally I made one of the extra bedrooms into the Disney room - but when we moved Ally into that room, I decided to turn the bonus room into my Disney shrine..... It's kind of the upstairs family room for Ally and any guests we might have....

All the pics lining the tops of the walls are actually "invitations" for the TS restuarants that we have eaten at. One of the great designers on the Creative DISigns thread made them all. It was actually Jeff's idea to do that as a border! Notice I've left room for new restaurants that we have yet to try! Up in December will be Ohana and CRT! I hope!

I actually framed a lot of things I found and had personalized from the Creative DISigns board. I framed Ally's BBB invitation that I had printed out, also our Pirate and Princess party invitation. Then there's the "Welcome to Walt Disney World" sign. I love the designers over there!!! I use them for so much more than just t-shirt logos!

And props to donatalie for all the wonderful dining and resort welcomes that I used all around the room!!!
