What do you do in DLP if it rains?
I saw the forecast and it will be rainy next week :(
We are not used in rain and when it rains here, we hardly go out of our houses.
I saw the weather here
http://weather.msn.com/golfconditions.aspx?wealocations=wc:-2095645963
is there a more accurate site?

DLRP was designed around the European climate, many of the rides are inside or at least the queuing areas are. There are also many covered ways if it does rain.

Very True. Thats why the have the Liberty and Discovery Arcade running up the sides of Main Street U.S.A!

It rained very heavily for us in DLRP on our first day there in June last year - we just bought waterproof ponchos, and got on with it :) as per usual. The only thing that we saw that was closed in the heavy rain was the Storybook boats in Fantasyland, everything else was running as usual.

It wasn't cold, it was just very wet.

Maybe it might be an idea to head over to the Studios if you get a particularly rainy day? There are indoor shows you can see there, Animagique, Cinemagique, Playhouse Disney, Stitch live etc

It's rained on both of our recent trips, we jsut wore something waterproof and got on with the trip!

None of our plans were changed and we had wonderful trips!

You'll hardly notice it!

I agree :)

just be prepared with waterproof jackets ( that can be folded small, and put in a bag / rucksack etc)

and if it does rain, then wear them and carry on as normal :)

We had torrential rain on one of our days during our visit in March and we bought ponchos and did all the inside rides, we actually had a really good day despite the weather :thumbsup2

We've been there in all weathers - in fact the first time, it was just too darned hot and everyone northern European seemed to be suffering equally!

I'd recommend decent waterproof jackets rather than ponchos, just for convenience, but the one thing to watch with the bairns is trouser-bottoms and footwear. In my experience both become sodden rather quickly and a midday change is sometimes required.

Also Disney brollies cost an absolute packet. If you think you might want one then take it with you.

I've got to say I used to get a bit hung up about the rain but like everyone has said, there are lots of things to do inside and out. We've always worn ponchos, I like them because you can pull them on and they cover everything, bags, etc but the rain really doesn't spoil the fun, just my hair  I'd be wary using an umbrella, especially if it's busy as they could cause an accident but as long as you have some sort of waterproof jacket/poncho or whatever you'll be fine.

Re-read these replies!! Don't worry about rain!!! They knew it was a rainy place when they built DLRP!! If we all can survive rain in the winter then rain in summer is really not going to cause you any trouble at all!!

ditto !!

I used to get so hung up before I went and I don't know what for, apart from 'my hair will be a mess if it rains' but when you're there, the rain doesn't matter, there are so many places you can go to avoid it and then you can also take advantage of it and walk on some rides which otherwise would be busy. Please don't worry, half the time the weather forecast is wrong ... I stopped checking it on our last few visits as it was so inaccurate.

My problem is that we are not used to raining at all. We don't have ponchos (we will buy them from there). Also we will have to carry twice as many clothes as we would have carried if it was sunny. Here in Greece we have been wearing short sleeves for a long time now and I am a little worried.
Ok I know we will have a fab time, but I still wish the forecast goes wrong.
Thank you for your support :)

What do you do in DLP if it rains?

You get wet! :rotfl2:

No really, I HATE the rain, but it rained whist we were there and it really wasn't too bad, it was the walking from Disneyland back to the hotel that was the worst, with the wind. But it is very well designed with the weather in mind so getting around, in the lovely yellow ponchos you keep quite dry.

I have one tip. Roll your jeans (or long pants) UP! a little. I didnt think about this and what made us cold was that our jeans were wet up to the knee at the back because the bottom of them got wet whilst walking along.

Just go and enjoy your trip and try not to worry about the rain and think of a positive, in rainy weather you are more tempted to have a yummy hot chocolate whilst at the park, mmmm.

Yep, the yellow ponchos do keep you dry and are long enough so that you can sit down in them on a bench/seat without getting your bum wet :rotfl:

I'm just back - it rained :rotfl2:.
Sunday evening it rained heavily, Monday it rained, Tuesday was overcast then very sunny in the afternoon, yesterday was mostly sunny but a few drops of rain - then a spectacular thunderstorm at the airport in the evening.

We didn't have to buy ponchos this time (we did last June though), and it wasn't cold enough to wear jackets, we just had jogger tops with hoods, and they kept us warm enough.

For eupap though, used to the weather in Greece, it may have felt cold.

We still had lots of fun though, even in the rain :goodvibes.

We came back!!
We were there Monday-Tuesday-Wednesday and left on Thursday.
The only day it was raining was the last one. and a little bit on Wednesday but we were at Billy Bob's so we didn't mind.:rotfl2:
Every day we woke up with a huge cloud that didn't give any rain. In the hotel they told us that it never rains to Greeks :) (funny)
On Wednesday that it didn't rain it was soooo cloudy, I had never seen that before!

its sooooooo cold in dec,you will need thermals & sallopettes too!

we had ski type jackets and trousers for the kids, with thermal 2 piece under aswell ! for our dec trip

then gloves,hat etc of course

not so bad when walking around but when waiting for shows, parades etc it can get really cold

and once you have that cold start from your feet and rise up,you cannot warm up again ! :(

Me and dh was talking about it and I said we shouldnt feel the cold that much its no different to waiting around for the local christmas lights to be turned on and watching the parade, he pointed out this is only an hour not all day :lmao:
