Yes we are back!! So sad. I have alot of pictures and I mean alot of pictures. I thought I was the pictures Queen but I believe I have been de-throned by Maroo. Boy she even beats me!!! So I believe between her and me we are up to around 500 pictures. That does not even count Photo Pass. I am so extremely tired that my brain is not really working. I took a journal with me and at the end of the day I would record everything that happened that day so I would not forget. I promise that I will have it started ASAP. I can not wait to share it with you. It was magical!!! Alot of pixie dust!
:rotfl: Dethroned! LOL
I took 1500 pictures on my trip... about 500 of those were with you guys.
Welcome home!!!! :)
How are you guys all feeling? You ok?

Hey guys!
Lori posted on Lucas' Magical Morning TR - that they have an appointment this week for all of Lucas' tests.
It is one of those all day trips to Nashville. I think it is tomorrow. I don't know if they get immediate results or not, but pray for them all - that Lucas would be relaxed for all of the tests and that his family would not worry!
I believe she is going to take the laptop with her...so hopefully she will be able to organize her pictures and such to feed our TR addiction! :)

DAY ONE
First of all I wanted to say I am sorry for the delay in starting my TR. It has been so wild since we have returned. I have had an Aunt who was sick before I left and then she took a turn for the worse on Tuesday morning and was put on life support. We spent the day in Nashville with Lucas. He had his MRI and CAT Scans today. He usually does not have to be sedated but he did great for his CAT Scans and was hurting but made it OK and we started his MRI and he did great for most of the way until the last 20 minutes and his back was hurting so bad and he just could not lay still long enough they had to finally sedate him. He did not handle the sedation well and had some blood pressure issues. But he is doing very well and is playing with his train set he got from Disney as I type.
Well here we go. DAY 1. Had to be up early to drive to Nashville to catch the plane. Everyone was excited and ready to get on the road. We had a special place to park and they had a limo's that took us to the airport. It was about a 5 minute ride but Lucas thought it was cool. The boys just loved the plane ride and loved the landing. We met our wonderful greeter Roger and then off to get our luggage. Alittle magic happened in the baggage claim area for my husband. He was able to meet Amy Grant and Vince Gill. They were on the same plane and he was wanting to speak to them but just did not have the chance before we took off but as were waiting for our luggage he was able to talk to them. So that was very exciting for him. Then off to GKTW. Oh I could not wait to see that sign I had seen in all of the reports. Finally we spot the sign and we are there and the magic begins. We just stayed at GKTW and hung out and had a great time. Lucas fell in love in the train sets at Amberville Train Station so that was it for him. We enjoyed the activities at the village that night and started to rest up for a great week coming up. Day 2 coming up soon.

Thank you for that. I am hoping for some time to sit down this weekend and have some quite time so I can write. I just can not get my brain to work. I need to tease Maroo she was sick and all and did a great job of writing the TR for our Magical Monday. I have not had that reason but I just can not get my brain back to normal yet. So hopfully I can have Day 2 done this weekend. Day 3 was our Magical Monday and I feel like that will take some time. Maroo did such a great job of writing that I may just borrow hers. She is so amazing. I am so glad that she was there because I had got so caught up in everything and missed some details. But she did not miss a thing with pictures and remembering.

I'm here. I read about Lucas' magical morning on Maroo's TR and now am wanting to see how the rest of your trip was. Praying the scans turn out okay.
Just wanted to add that I just finished reading this entire thread. I am home with a sick DD today. Not much makes me tear up, but in post 24 when you mentioned what the school was going to do, that got to me. For the whole school to be involved. WOW!

Usually Lucas does not have to be sedated for the MRI but his back was hurting too bad and he just could not take it. So the last 20 minutes they had to sedate him. He had some blood pressure issues with that and that really scared me. But he is doing well today. We will go back on Monday for the results.
I hope you are feeling better. Yes we have a wonderful school that really supports the student. We feel very blessed to be a part of them.
Yes I am thankful for Maroo and her trip report on Lucas. It has helped me to remember some moments that I had forgotten. She is one incredible woman!!! She helped to make our trip extra special. Mostly for just being there to support us.

Yes I am back finally posting. I hoping to do alittle more this weekend.
Yes we had heard that they had suspended the train tours. One of things he really wanted to do was see the round houses but since the train tour was suspended that no one could go behind the scenes. But Lucas did not even noticed. They created so much magic for him he was happy just meeting Engineer Ed and getting the railroad spike. He would of been happy if the day ended there. But I better not give too much away I will wait to share more.

DAY 2 UNIVERSAL & IOA
Had a wonderful breakfast at the Gingerbread House. It was nice to just to get up and take a nice walk to breakfast. It is just so nice to be able to take a stroll through the village to breakfast. Then we were off to Universal and IOA. Alex loves cars and was so excited to see the Fast and Furious Cars. That was a highlight for him. Then off to the Kid's Zone. The boys loved the Curious George area and laughed and played in the water. They were soaked (so it is a good ideal to bring an extra change of clothes) but they had so much fun. The boys loved the Woody Wood Pecker roller coaster. And then the ET Ride. They had so much fun on that one. Lucas would get alittle scared because it was a dark ride. But there was not much there that the boys wanted to do. We ate lunch at Mel's Diner well as most of you can already guess with Alex we would have to eat at a place with cars. The next ride we got alittle special attention. We all wanted to ride the Jaws ride but Lucas was alittle nervous because he likes to know what he is getting into before he does anything. One of the ride operators seen how nervous he was and said she would take us to the control room and we could watch his dad on the ride so Lucas could see what was happening. So it was really cool to see how the ride operates and the control room. But after watching the behind the scenes and Lucas said I do not think so. Before we left we were lucky we found Sponge Bob. Lucas was really excited about that but SpongeBob was leaving but they seen Lucas' button and said that he could come on. I thought that was so nice of them to give Lucas that chance. Then we walked out and there was Jimmy Neutron so that was exciting for both boys. So as I stated earlier there was not a lot there at the park for the boys but it was hard to drag my husband out but the boys were ready to go. They just loved GKTW and wanted to go back but we said let's go to IOA. We just got in and the rain started so that trip was cut alittle short because of all of the rain. There was a few things that my husband wanted to do so he ran to do those. The boys and I went to Seuss Landings and only got to ride a few things and then the lightening started. So we decided it might just be best to he ad back to the village. One of the services at the village is to have your meal delivered to your villa. We were cold and wet and just did not feel like getting out so it was nice to pick up the phone and order your food. Then we ended the night with a tuck in service with Mayor Clayton. Oh that was so much fun. The Mayor was so sweet and the boys had so much fun with their tuck in. They were fast off to sleep with their Mayor Clayton's stuff animal tucked in their arms. We have a very early morning the next day. So sweet Disney Dreams!!! That surprised does Disney have in store for us.

Woo Hoo!
An update!
I have still not been to Universal or IOA. One day I will have to go!
I LOVE that he got to go in the control room at Jaws. I had forgotten about that!
I guess I am a Disney girl!
I can't wait to see your take on the Magical Morning. I know it was a whirlwind for you - even more than for me, and that says a lot...because it was quite a whirlwind!
But I am looking forward to your thoughts. I hope that you will use any pictures I have that you would like. You can just copy and paste the IMG code for the ones you want to use and just copy them over here. Feel free.
Maybe writing some about that Magical Morning will keep you occupied tomorrow as you go back to the doctor.
Praying for you guys!!!

I guess everyone should have least one experience of Universal but after going to both parks it made me a Disney Girl.
I have begun writing my thoughts on that Magical Morning. So I am about half way there. So hopefully I will have it done very soon. I may take you up on your pictures. Needless to say we did not get many that morning. So we are so appreciative of your pictures.

Oh yIPPEEEE!!! That's awesome! I sort of hate it when doctor's do that. While I know there is always a chance of the disease coming back, it's perfectly acceptable for you all to want to celebrate. Mikaela's doctors do that too. I have a good head on my shoulders to always know of what could happen with her condition. But let us have our time to celebrate this small victory. And for Lucas, it didn't happen right now so CELEBRATE!!!

DAY 3 THE MAGICAL MORNING
Up very early to start our Magical Morning. The boy's were saying it is so dark. It was strange coming into Walt Disney World on a dark and pretty much deserted road. We worried about the parking, but it was easier than we thought. The CM like all that we would encounter was so helpful. We got out of the car and met our first visitor of the day. An armadillo. The boys were alittle frightened. We had to park at the Contemporary Hotel and have a nice little walk over to the MK. It was strange walking over with no one around and the park was empty. The wonderful CM's started taking care of us immediately. Everything was very wet due to the cleaning and a CM rushed right over and dried off a bench for us to sit down. We did not sit for very long because one of the moments we had been waiting for we finally got to meet Miss Maroo in person. There she appeared with that wonderful smile of hers. It was meeting like a long lost friend. Then out of the darkness appeared two wonderful men. Engineer Ed and the Main Street Operations Mgr Kent came over to us with a huge smiles on their faces. They walked us over to the benches and sit us down and started sharing with us some of the surprises that they had in store for us. Ed told us that there was about 30 people behind the scenes that were working some magic for us. That overwhelmed me to think that many people were working behind the scenes for my son and family. Then Ed came with a Disney Bag and had some surprised for Lucas. Out appeared a railroad spike and not just any ordinary spike but a spike that came from the Disney Railroad. If that was not special enough it was the only spike to be given to a Disney Guest. WOW!!! What a moment. Then he had special buttons for the boy's to wear, a special Disney Pin and a special ticket. Then he was given a special engineer hat that when you pushed a button on the top it made the sound of a train. What made these hats so special was Ed had a sharpie and throughout the morning other engineers would sign this hat. At this point the day could of ended and we found be just so happy and pleased with our day. Then they allowed us in MK and there was the castle. That is such a special moment to see that castle for the first time but to be the only one standing on Main Street and looking down at the castle. It was breathe taking to just be standing there and looking at the castle and not have to worry about the crowds. We had Ed there with us and he was sharing with us some wonderful stories about the MK. That was so interesting to hear those stories. He showed us a lot of details about Main Street that you are not able to see with a lot of people there. That was so interesting! After a lot of picture we sat down to enjoy a break. Ed and Kent took such good care of us. They provided us with a water break and Ed shared more incredible stories.
Stay tuned. It is time to get down to the train talk. The part that Lucas was looking so forward to.

Thank you so much for coming along on our journey. It has been so wonderful!!! Part of the reason that it has been so wonderful is because of the amazing people on the boards. Our trip was so amazing because of our fellow dissers from all of the wonderful people from the Big Give, to the encouraging words and help from the people who are posting and also getting to meet the amazing Maroon. She is truly a blessing and we are thankful God has placed her in our lifes. It has been around 6 months since we started on the boards and I feel like I have alot of new family now. These people are an incredible support group.
I am glad you enjoy our trip report.

I promise I am getting there. Since I have gotten back I have been having trouble with my eyes. I thought I was just tired. Come to find out I just could not see very well. So new glasses are on order.
I know can you believe those pictures!!!! I just can not believe Maroo was right there when they posted that. It has been like that our whole trip. Even when she posted about the train tours. The engineer just read her post. It always seems she has be placed at the right place at the right time. I tell you it keeps going on. We went to DHS and went on our first ride (we knew Maroo was in the park and was hoping to see her but what are the odds) and guess who was getting off the ride "the incredible Maroo" and then the next morning we are to meet her for breakfast and was wondering were we would meet her and guess what we were getting on the Monorail and guess who joins us in the same car. It was Maroo. This meeting has been so magical from the beginning.

DAY 3 TRAIN TALK
Lucas loves trains and loves them so much that he wants to learn as much as he can about them. So he loves to hear people talk about trains. Ed took us under the Main Street Train Station to look at the pictures of the four steam engines that are operating at MK. He was giving Lucas a lot of details about the trains and Lucas just loved that. He talked to him about how they worked and the reason why Walt Disney named the trains the names that he did. So Lucas had several questions for Ed. It was neat to hear him to be able to talk trains with someone who could talk train talk with him. It was so neat to watch Lucas as he listened to Ed. Ed was so cool because he just gave Lucas all of the time that he needed to ask questions and talk. Then we were able to walk in the engineers rooms. Oh Lucas just loved that and seeing the technical side of the trains. He just loved that. That was amazing! This also gave us some additional time to talk with Ed. He gave us some more history of the trains. Lucas Dad and I enjoyed hearing some of the neat stories. Then we had two visitors stop by to visit Lucas. Two additional engineers stopped by to see Lucas. They signed his hat and Lucas was able to say hi to them.

Engineer Ed with the family
When we thought the greatest morning could not get any better it did. They told us that our transportation was coming and guess what they sent us An Antique Car. The car was being driven by the most amazing woman named Barbara. She was such a sweetheart and took such great care of our family. She is truly an example of the magic of Disney. Well they all were. It was so sweet to see the time that Ed took with Lucas and his questions. We loaded the car and off we went down Main Street. At this point they were letting families in that had breakfast reservations. So it was fun going down Main Street and greeting families. Then Barbara stopped the car and off we went to take pictures in front of the castle and back in the car to Toon Town Disney. They also shared with us that the car usually does not leave Main Street but today it was taking us to Toon Town. As soon as we stopped the car and unloaded we could hear something. And off went Lucas with Ed to see the beautiful Lilly Belle coming down the tracks. He was so excited to finally see the train. She was beautiful coming down the tracks. Ed then took Lucas off to see the train up close and personal. Again I knew that we would be able to see the train but did not ever think we could get up close and personal to the train. Well in the magic of Disney they opened the gate and we were able to get close to the train. Right there in front of Lucas was the train. How exciting. He is so overwhelmed at this point he was not saying much. It was a special moment seeing his face as he looked at that steam locomotive. There were more engineers to meet and more autographs to get. But it was so cool to see Lucas standing that close to the train and just to look at it. Oh it was so amazing.

Again we could of left and had plenty of magic and was very happy. But they had even more. Can you believe it. After that we were escorted by Barbara to see Mickey and Minnie's Houses. It was wonderful to be able to enjoy their houses without a lot of crowds. Barbara did share that is was magic because you will never have the chance to go to Mickey and Minnie's house alone. Barbara gave us a very quick tour of the houses and knew just how to pose everyone for the pictures. Which I was so very thankful because I just love pictures. So just wait for our visit with our special visit with some special friends.

I was directed to your report by longing2Batdisney. We have become quite good friends and we have a group of dissisters who only want the best for one another. I just read the entire report and am in awe of you as a mother to be able to express yourself so well when talking of your wonderful son and his illness. Prayers are a powerful source of energy and can see you through so much. I would certainly pray for Lucas' continued wellbeing and have nothing but good wishes for you, your DH and that darling Alex. This is a family fight and you are one strong family.

Thank you so much for your words. They truly blessed my heart! I am so thankful for the power of prayer and how it has gotten us through this all. The people on these boards are incredible. When I started on the boards I was truly searching a site to help us better plan our trip. I had no ideal of what an incredible group of people that I would be meeting. It has become my support group of sorts.
You are right about a family fight. But I am so blessed to have my family. Thank you again for your prayers.

Maroo did such a great job telling our story that even as I was reading I got excited. It was like I could not wait until the next installment and I knew what was going to happen.

As if the morning could not get any better or more magical they said but wait there is more. A true magical moment. We left Mickey's house after getting some wonderful family pictures. We were told that there was someone that wanted to meet the boys We walked out of the house and guess who was coming down the street. Mickey Mouse himself and he had a lot of friends following him. It was one of those picture perfect moments. Mickey throws up his arms and goes down on one knee and my boys goes into his arms. What a moment! I still remember that first thought that ran through my mind. This is just for my boys, MY BOYS. I just could not believe it!!! What a dream come true. I mean this was just for my boys. I was just so overwhelmed.

After meeting Mickey the other characters came up and they were able to meet all of them. Then we all got pose for the most amazing picture. A family photo in front of Mickey's house with all of the characters. What a picture!!!
http://i674.photobucket.com/albums/vv102/matt1026/Familywcharaters.jpg
Then it was time to board Lilly Belle to go to Main Street USA for the opening show. It was so sweet to see the boys walking with the characters. Lucas was walking with Mary Poppins and Alice and Alex was walking hand in hand with Mickey Mouse. I got to walk with Chip or Dale I forgot to check her the color of the nose to see who I got. But following the boys and watching them interact with the characters was truly amazing. Then we got to ride the train next to Mickey Mouse. He did such a wonderful job communicating with the boys. He would ask them ages and he showed them where he signed their autograph books (note all through hand gesture). He was so amazing with boys. Well it was time to arrive on Main Street USA. He got off the train and was given Pixie Dust to throw out and to open the park. WE WERE THE OPENING FAMILY. WOW!!!! It was an incredible experience. Then we took another family portrait with the cast from Main Street USA and Mickey Mouse. Then it was time to say good bye to Kent and Ed. That was a sad time. Then we had another amazing moment. Lucas had shared how he had saved up with money to buy a train at Disney and Kent disappeared again and came back with yet another surprise. They had left the boys a monorail train set and also a Disney Steam Train Set at package pickup. Then it was sad to be saying good bye to two very special friends. But after all of that we still had not actually done anything in Magic Kingdom. We still had a full day ahead of us. Maroo was able to spend the rest of the morning with us. Lucas took to her immediately. We started to ride rides and he wanted to ride only with Maroo. So he had a riding buddy for awhile. He really enjoyed being with her. But after a wonderful morning with Maroo it was time to say good bye to her. We enjoyed Magic Kingdom the rest of the afternoon and then over to Contemporary Hotel to the Pirates and Pal Party. It was fun and very special to watch “Wishes” fireworks from the water. The pirates on the boat where amazing. We had a wonderful time. Needless to say after that was over we all were very very tired. The boys were asleep before we left the parking lot. They did not even wake up as we put them to bed. I know a special night of magical dreams

Oh it was true magic. I still get chills just thinking about that day!
Lucas is feeling good. He is starting to have more back pain again. We go see an orthopedic surgeon in two weeks. He is having surgery on Tuesday to have his port taken out. I thought he would be excited about that but he is sad. He says it is his best friend and even has named it porty. He said he is afraid his tumors will come back and needs his friend "porty" to help with his medicine. Thank you for asking about him

Aw!
I wish his doctor would let him keep his port a little while longer? Maybe Lucas is right?
But they can always put another one in if he ever needs it! Then he gets a NEW friend! Two for one!
Tell Lucas I said hello (and Alex, too!)...give them both a HUGE hug for me! :)

I am with you on the port. I just think it is too soon. I do believe Lucas might be on to something.
We had to get his medical records to take to the orthopedic surgeon and we did found out today not only is his L5 vertra collapsed he also has a diffuse bulge disc. So that maybe where his pain is coming from.
Lucas and Alex says hello and sends hugs back your way :grouphug:. Ed has emailed Lucas again to give him another Lilly Belle update. Which is so cool.

Sorry I have been MIA. Last week was Fall Break and it was all about my boys. So I promised them no computer. Well I tried as best that I could. Also Lucas had his surgery last week. His port is now out. Surgery went well but he did get sick alot after he woke up. But all in all he did well. I got tickled at him the first thing he asked for when he woke up was his port. He said he was my best friend and I can not wait until I get to meet him in person. So I gave him his cup and he cuddled it and went right back to sleep. He has been carry it around and showing everyone that will look. I am hoping to finish my TR this week. That is if everything works out.
Thanks for checking on us Jen!
