Hi everyone, I realize a lot has been said comparing savannah view room vs standard room. Having stayed in the savannah view last June, I do know how nice the view can be. Just being in the resort is a treat . Being a season pass holder the parks are a freebee this trip. Has anyone with astandard view room booked not been offered by chance a free upgrade to a pool or savannah view ? Even if you were offered one at additional cost. What price difference are we talking about. What is the best pool view & savannah view price difference anyone has been offered at check in ?

I haven't been upgraded at AKL, but after staying there in October, I personally would always book a savannah view. That's the best part of the resort, IMO, and I wouldn't want to miss it to save a few bucks. :)

When we were there in December the standard view roms were being used. So my guess is that those people were not offered free upgrades. The resort was pretty full, so I"m not sure they would have even been able to accomodate a paid upgrade.

Chances are if you book a standard view room, that is what you will recieve.

We leave tomorrow for AKL. We were there in Nov. and had a Savanah view room and loved it! This trip is a "low budget" trip, so I gave the family a choice - a moderate resort, or AKL standard view. DS said he would pick AKL even if he had to sleep in the lobby, the rest of the family agreed, so AKL - standard view here we come. I will let you know how it was when we return. I am aware that we may be sitting on our balcony looking at the parking lot, but we figure we wouldn't have a balcony to sit on at all in a moderate!

At check in I was offered a $60 upgrade to savannah view from standard. I declined, as it was a budget trip. It certainly didn't seem like a bargain! I had a postcard rate, but I can't remember how much it was. Not as low as I've seen for summer & fall, but the cheapest I could get for March.
For the Fall specials, standard is 129+tax and savannah is 169+tax. It's about a $40/per night difference.

Hi, Luvd2ny, I'll be at AKL on Sunday. Look for the guy at the pool with the silver gray hair. LOL . I opped for the standard room too. Maybe we both might get lucky with the free upgrade. One never knows . Have a safe trip down. Maybe we might run into you guys.
