So, I'm getting my ipod all ready for the trip, and I'm wasting a lot of space with the "other" category. Can someone tell me what this includes? It is 1.88 MB of my space, and I have no idea what it is.

Thanks.

I'm guessing it's the operating system, graphics....you know...the stuff that makes it work.

I think that's true... but mine takes up only 313.3 megs of space (I had to look because I was curious).

I'd like to know why yours is so high!

Have you ever used your iPod Touch in disk mode? Any files copied on to the Touch would show up in Other.

If you haven't, the consensus on the Net is that some music or video files were corrupted during a sync. The only solution is to file on the Touch and the only way to fix it is to do a restore instead of a normal sync.

no, never used that. And, I did a restore, and it took it from 180 to 150.

You know what it did. Because I can type. Sorry. I'm probably confusing everyone else, because I surely am confusing myself. It from from GB to MB. Just in the same number range. Thanks :)

There will always be some files in Other. Album art, lyrics, calendar, mail, etc. The bulk of it is probably album art. I have 252 MB on my iPhone. Other doesn't include the operating system. That is stored separately.
