Hello! Welcome to my first Trip Report! Thanks to everyone who came over from my first PTR! :goodvibes

Although I have a TON of pictures I did not take as many as I would have liked. I have lots of food pics, but forgot on some. I hope to make this fun, photo filled, witty, and enjoyable for anyone who would like to come along.

I'll jump right in with some cast and background info...

Tarah: Me, lover of all things Disney, Christmas, penguins, and tulips. My faves include Mulan, Mary Poppins, and Tower of Terror. It has been 7 years since I have been to Disney and I was beyond excited to go again finally. I am the jokester of the bunch and find a reason to laugh all the time.

Jen: My girlfriend. Never been to Disney. I've given her a Disney crash course for three years and we finally decided to take a trip. Jen was very excited for the House of Mouse, but unsure of what to expect. Needless to say, she states she is a Disney lover through and through and wants to go back. :cloud9: She had not been on any rides or had a real theme park experience since she was a little girl and was very nervous.

Melody: My mom aka Marmee aka Nana. One of the main reasons my sister and I were raised on Disney. Lover of everything Piglet and is very upset Disney does not have more Piglet items. She thinks since Piglet is Pooh's BFF and has his own movie that they should not leave Piglet out so much. :cutie: She is my best friend and I wouldn't trade her for the world.

Billy: My dad aka Bobo. My dad loves Disney, but I wouldnt say as much as the girls in the family. We have grown to have a better relationship over the years, but he has the tendency to get grumpy on occasion in which time we usually don't get along :headache: I still love him very much. He and my mom have been married going on 28 years.

The four of us took a 10 day vacation. 7 of those to be spent @ Disney World. The trip had its magical and some not so magical moments. We ended up with so many shopping bags we almost couldn't fit all the luggage.

I have an older sister Trista who is married to her hubby Mario. She is two adorable children Pierce and Hallise. They did not make it on this trip and my sister was very very sad. We had to bring them back lots of goodies! Pierce is 3 and also a lover of all things Disney... he enjoys Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Little Einstiens, Buzz & Woody, etc, etc. Here is a pic of everyone together.

Here we go! (I aplogize for a slow first installment... hopefully things will pick up... also I resized the pictures, hopefully will update soon!)

We left Thursday night. The plan was that my dad was off and was getting the rental van, taking my dog Pollyanna to the vet, etc. Jen, Marmee, and myself were scheduled to work until 6 pm. That morning my sister called me and my nephew needed to go to the doctor. To spare you a long story, if my sister missed any more work she would lose her job. I was in the best position to call in. I must say I didn't mind even though it was sad my little guy was sick... :rolleyes1 I spent most of the day at the doctor's office with Pierce. He had pneumonia. :sick: He had to do blood work, xrays, and breathing treatments. He kept saying he wanted chicken (hes 3... what can you expect? :cutie:) so I took to him to lunch to eat some chicken. Of course being so sick he did not eat very well. After lunch we went and got his Rx meds. He was out in the back seat before we got home. The rest of the afternoon I spent on the DIS Board at my sister's house while Pierce slept. I was going crazy this day, but was thankful not to be at work. Poor Jen and Mom... It was finally time to go get my sister. I then hopped in the car with Jen and my Mom. We got my dads truck from the airport, drove to my parents house, got in the van (dad had it packed)... and on the road we were!!!!

We were on the road by 7ish I believe. We got a 2009 Chrysler Town & Country van. It was really really nice!

It had four captain chairs and the bench seating in the very back. It was like sitting in recliners. We were not complaining!

Dad drove until about midnight or 1am... I cannot remember exactly. We stopped at a Holiday Inn Express... no pictures sorry. It was very very nice and comfy except it was hot and newly built. It smelled like fresh paint which quickly gave me a headache...sigh.

We ate breakfast at the hotel and hit the road again! Here is Dad and the lovely van.

We drove through Pensacola. How I love Pensacola. I was bummed we couldnt stop longer. I spent most of my childhood there and vacation there now. I plan to move there soon. We went through our old neighborhood and stopped at a Whataburger for lunch. I stocked up on their ketchup... they have the best ketchup there. :confused3

At some point we passed the Niceville sign.. I bet it's nice to live there. I thought it was friendly... course everyone else in the car thought I was weird. Hehe.

The sun was setting... our drive had been uneventful but very enjoyable.

It was about 830 or 9 I believe when we finally made it. I could be wrong... :confused3 We ate dinner at Dennys near our hotel. We stayed at a Ramada just a miles from Disney. It was very nice and affordable. It was full of people! I was nervous about this place, but it was quite nice. We hit up a few gift shops on the Disney strip. ;)

It was then off to bed as we were getting up bright and early! We had to go check in to the All Star Music Resort then head to Epcot!

Finally that next morning we saw the most beautiful thing for any fellow Disney lover.

My dad had trouble reading all the signs for Disney... after day one of getting all turned around I took over the driving. :goodvibes

Now, I had called many times to reiterate my building request for the hotel... We had paid for regular rooms so I really wanted Jazz Building 9... I also had to call numerous times to get the spelling of Jen's name corrected...

Will everything go smooth at check in? Did we get what I asked for? Stay tuned!

Boo you're back, but yay you started your TR! I thought about you the Thursday you left about 9:30 pm. I figured you might be driving through Baton Rouge around that time, but then I realized you probably went another way. I'm sorry the paint gave you a headache. Fresh paint always gets me too!

This cracked me up! One of my good friends from college is from Crestview. Me and another friend were driving back to BR from Tampa and he met us at a Burger King by the interstate. We kept telling him we were going to litter in Crestview, so we threw a straw wrapper out the window when we were pulling away. Really stupid, I know. But we thought it was funny at the time!

I can't wait to read more! I'm so glad y'all had such a great time and Jen understands the magic now!!!

We are picking up on Saturday (04/25) morning. We left our Ramada to head for Disney bright and early. We had to check in @ the All Star Music and head to EPCOT!

Since I got a new computer at work I lost all my saved documents, emails, etc… sigh. This means I do not have my Disney spreadsheet as I had planned… let me peek back at my PTR to look at our itinerary…. I want to say it was AM EMH at Epcot…

OK! I was right! AM EMH at EPCOT. It was also Flower & Garden Festival! So pretty…

So after back seat driving :rolleyes1 we finally make it to the hotel. Hehe.

For those of you who didn’t come from my PTR, I had bought some Disney Pins from EBay and also everyone these little lanyards. To my surprise everyone liked them! Everyone shortly became obsessed with pin trading!!

My marmee & I go to the check in desk… things are running smooth so far. I kindly ask the cast member if we got my request of Jazz Building 9. She sweetly replied “Oh no you don’t want that….”

“ I don’t??”

“No, you got Calypso Building 1 which is much better!”

Woop woop! The first pixie dust! Now I won’t stake my life on it, but I thought the Calypso buildings were preferred rooms only? We only paid for regular. I was so excited! We were right near the huge pool, food court, parking lot, gift shop, and most importantly… the smoking area! (Jen and Mom are both smokers… ) She then passed out all of the key to the world cards… and everything looked good until I saw Jen’s card…Now already I had to call numerous times because her last name was spelled wrong. I refused to have anything wrong on her first trip. If her name was on it I wanted it spelled correctly. I didn’t think that was too much to ask….ok so her name was spelled correctly but they had her last name for her first name and her first name for her last name. Needless to say her last name is very clearly the last name…. the cast member was very nice about correcting it though and gave us a new one. Whew!

I did not take pictures of the inside of the room… I figured everyone on here pretty much knows what they look like. We did get the standard mickey head towel on the bed. Sadly, it was the only towel animal we got. I did tip mouse keeping each day, but no luck. We also had the privacy curtain which was oh so handy! I really cannot complain about this hotel. It was crawling with young children and teenagers as apparently the cheer and dance world competition was going on. Thankfully that only last a few days. The only downside to the hotel was very poor quality bathroom towels and toilet paper. :confused3 Do those get better with the mod or deluxe resorts?? :laughing:

The first ride was the ball ride… er Spaceship Earth. We walked right on. Everyone enjoyed. It was quite fun. Jens first Disney ride!

We then decided it would prolly be best to head to Soarin’ and get some fast passes! We all LOVED this ride! My dad even bought a Soarin’ pin. This ride is great! I believe we got some fast passes, ate breakfast, rode, got more fast passes, rode Livin’ the Land, and then rode Soarin’ again.

We ate at Season’s … mom and dad both got the child’s French toast. Jen & I got the French toast and a bacon, egg, cheese croissant to share.

Everyone enjoyed it, but Jen… she is picky with food quality. I thought it was good. Not a 5 star meal, but good.

After our second round of Soarin’ we headed to Nemo!!!

Now I am very patient with children... but when Jen and myself were trying to do the shark picture a ton of kids kept jumping in front of us and we couldnt get to it. I was very close to telling some kids to go find their mother's and shove through..lol. My mom has issues with my camera (shes the only one) and took the picture before we were ready. Anyway... its not horrible, but here is the picture of us that took about 15 minutes to get.. lol

I really enjoyed Nemo. It was fun. And again we walked right on. I’ll tell you now, we had no problem with lines. We really never waited long for anything! It was nice.

We decided to pass with the Turtle Talk with Crush… it was a wait for the next show and it was swarming with crying babies…

After Nemo we stopped for a smoke break (this happened a lot...i do not complain about the vice of my g/f or my mother tho... i just took advantage of the time to rest. it was friendly.)

After the smoke break we headed for Test Track. I believe we got fast passes and then did the Ellen ride...:rotfl: you know the energy one! Now don't get me wrong.. I adore Ellen... but this ride is boring. After the dinosoars I swear I was gonna have to elbow everyone to wake up!!

We were headed to Test Track! We got Fast Passes and it was time. Jen was nervous. This was going to be her first “thrill” ride in a VERY long time.

Dad assured her she had nothing to worry about.

Now remember when I said I threw away $10?? Well... yeah. That margarita went in the trash after maybe I drank 1/10 of it. It was gross. Dad maybe drank half and trashed his too. I was really disappointed...

We of course did all the little rides. The boat ride in Mexico and Norway were great.

Funny story...
so I went up to see Alice and Mary. I was wearing my "Happy Anniversary" button as I did most of the trip. My parents were celebrating 27 years. Jen and I were celebrating 3. :cloud9:
Alice says "Oh happy anniversary!"
"Thank you!"
"Where is your husband?"
Now do you expect me to really go into the whole.. actually i dont have one, etc, etc... No.
"Oh... um... you know... around.. shopping..."
Alice then shots LOUDLY "Ohhhh husband!!!!!!!"
Jen who was not really paying attention kinda looks over at me staring at her and kind of looks over to Alice and raises her hand...
Alice then looks surprised and says "Oh..."
Next thing you know, picture taken, awkward moment over! :rotfl:
I was bummed because Alice was so loud and chatty that I didn't get to really talk to Mary Poppins who I love! I was still glad tho to see her and get a picture.

So for lunch we ate in Mexico at the counter service. I forgot about the picture taking until everyone was half done. :headache: So if you do not enjoy seeing the food any other way than pre eaten.. please scroll past the next pictures...

My parents got two kids chicken and cheese quesadillas and a nacho to share. Jen got nachos and I got a burrito... Everyone seemed ok with it all. I however did not like mine. I was able to eat enough and pick through to be happy for now though.

In Japan I knew I wanted to do the pearl thing... Jen said she wanted to get it for me. I can always say "This is the pearl necklace that Jen got me in Disney" :thumbsup2 I didn't mind...

Now, for those of you who have never done this I REALLY recommend it. It was so fun! It was quite busy and we had to wait a while. There was also this very rude couple there who were not friendly at all...but! I got my pearl and made a necklace!

We took our time and didn't rush to do and see it all. We knew we were coming back another day.
We eventually made it back to Mexico to sit under the unmbrellas for a seat for Illuminations! I decided it was time for food and went to the China counter service for something to go. :goodvibes

Jen didn't really care for any of it... I must say I was disappointed. It wasn't bad, but wasn't as good as I would have hoped.

I didn't take any pictures of Illuminations. I wanted to sit back and enjoy without the worry of camera settings, etc.

That was our first day at EPCOT! It was great! We have another day there later in the trip. Day 2 is the Magic Kingdom and breakfast at the Crystal Palace! Also, the Magic Kingdom was open until 3 am!!! Woo Hoo!! Stay tuned to see moms reaction to Piglet, Crystal Palace pics, Jen's first look at the castle, and how long we managed to stay!!!

Wahoo! You look like you are having fun so far! All we had here was rain, rain, rain.....I'm glad you got such a great building! Two installments! Whoa! I'm glad Jen liked Test Track. It's probably my favorite ride at Epcot. I like Soarin' too, but Test Track is my fav! :) I am not a big fan of the food in Mexico either, probably won't eat there when I go. I am sad that you weren't thrilled with the food in China. I really liked Nine Dragons when we ate there. Of course, it's been a while....And of course, the obligatory photo in the phone booth in England. What trip to World Showcase is complete without it? The necklace that Jen got you is beautiful!

I am glad that the trip has been great so far, and that you had no rain (really, that happens in Orlando?) :wizard:

The wake up call rang bright and early… we had an 8:10 adr for breakfast at the Crystal Palace. This was my treat and I was super excited. My mom LOVES Piglet and this was her first time to meet him!! I was also very bouncy for Jen’s first Magic Kingdom day!! It was going to be a fabulous day! Oh and they were open until 3 am!!! Things could not get any better right?

Now since it was an early morning and a late night we planned to take a swim/nap break in the afternoon.

We were running behind and I was rushing everyone because I wanted to get into the park before it opened! I thought it opened at 8… little did I know it didn’t open until 9. I realized that later when we were finishing breakfast and I saw the HUGE WAVE of people pass by!

After parking, my plan was to take the ferryboat. I always remembered the slow boat ride with the castle on the horizon. I thought that would be nice for Jen… but the ferry was closed. Monorail only…. That’s ok! Her first monorail ride!!

It was very nice inside and not busy at all since it was so early. Our waiter was awesome!!! The food here was REALLY REALLY good!

Jen said the grits were awesome so I had a bite and omg heavenly! The eggs were too! I seriously could have eaten just the grits and eggs and been happy… the grits were so creamy and yummy! The eggs were cooked just right and were not made from powder!

For my second plate I had to get some fruit, but could not pass up more eggs and my own grits! Needless to say I could not really touch the eggs or grits... full!

Now… my darling marmee cried when she met piglet!! It was so priceless! I started to tear up too just watching her. I will never forget it. It was true magic. It made the whole trip worth it for me no matter what else happened. I must say I told Piglet how much my mom loved him and I wish he would have been more interactive. He was the least of them all sadly…

Pooh came around last… I told him I love his poohs puffed French toast and he got all silly with me. It was great

Our waiter was awesome!! I cant remember his name… but when he came back with my card and receipt for the ticket he had given us two fast passes!! They each covered the whole group and were four any two rides in the park!!! Pixie Dust!!!!!!

He was very busy and I never got to properly thank him, but I did leave him a mighty fine tip.

The morning was off to a better start than I could imagine. It was only a few minutes after 9 and the park had just opened. It was time to hit some rides and explore Magic Kingdom! Again we planned to take our time because they were open until 3 am and we had planned another day here later.

Stay tuned for more Magic in the Kingdom! SpectroMagic parade! We found some people who were not finding the magic. Also, see how long we lasted in the park and “was that Mickey and Minnie who just walked by???”

:rotfl: Thanks! It was funny actually. The wait was quite long to pick my pearl. There were only a few people in front of me but they each had like 5 or 6 to pick. :confused3 The cast members make it so animated for each one that it was taking sooooo long!!! mom stuck it out with me. Jen got to see the finished product later and was pleased with it I think. I know she was happy because I was happy for sure. I heart my peral necklace jen got me at disney! :)

The Alice thing was funny. I do not embarass easily, but it was def an awkward moment. Jen thot she embarassed me and felt bad and I had to reassure her that it was a funny memory. I was just fine. :thumbsup2

Yeah.. I don't think we'll do mexico again. I didnt think you could mess up mexican but you can... Our chinese was from the counter service Lotus Blossom Cafe. Nine Dragons is prolly better. On our second day there I got the cucumber salad from the china tea stand and it rocked!

I couldnt believe we had no rain! I packed ponchos each day too! Even on Kali River Rapids I almost used them, but thot no... I should keep them for the rain. :rotfl: Dang!

3. I agree about the margarita! It was gross and I threw mine away too!! Way too much of it and way too much alcohol :faint:

1. I have no idea where I got that blanket I'm afaid. I'll have to ask my sister... I believe I "borrowed" it from her some time ago. :laughing:
2. I don't know why it didn't bother me so much in the parks... I suppose I expected it there.. but for some reason I expected better in the hotel room.. Hmm. I didn't see any of the Charmin or Cottonelle signs, but if I would have I certainly would have asked a cast member!! wth? :rotfl:
3. I'm so glad that someone agrees! I got a mix of green apple and strawberry and it tasted like horrible quality tequila. Yick. I wouldnt even of minded if it was just strong but bleh!
4. Jen said her face was priceless, but I didnt see it. It makes me laugh though even now. :rotfl:

I've been dealing with a migraine and then a severe headache for the past few days so I apologize I didn't keep the TR pace going. I'm going to work on the next installment to be coming soon!

So I now realize why so many people say they bring a little note tablet to take notes in… I keep remembering little things that I had forgotten about!

For example… the first morning at the All Star Music I was getting out of the shower, grabbed a “clean” towel that was hanging there… opened it up to use it… and hello mr gianormous spider!!!! :scared1: I dropped the towel to the ground and quickly debated…to kill or not to kill … I know he was a “Disney” spider and all, but I knew that I would not be able to live in this room always wondering where this fella was going to be…. Soooooo while trying to keep my “eek” at a minimal noise level, I squished the spider. :guilty:

Anyway… moving on! :goodvibes

After all of us feeling fat and sassy from Crystal Palace it was time for!!! … Swiss Family Robinson Tree House!! :cool1:

(actually it was time for a smoke break hahaha but that’s no fun! :rotfl:)

This is my moms favorite attraction in all of Disney. Jen had heard about it for years and was excited to see it. We all say we would live here…

After the tree house we went to the Jungle Cruise! We waited maybe 5 minutes at most. Photo bucket some how didn’t load the Jungle Cruise pictures. Hmpf. We had all the corny jokes of course. Some weren’t half bad, some made me roll my eyes, some were just too dumb for words. It was still friendly though. You can’t not do the Jungle Cruise…

We then went the the new and improved Tiki Room. Now, I cannot say that I really remember the old version that well. I must admit though I was not impressed. I think we did it as more of a rite of Disney passage type thing for Jen, but I think everyone in there was dozing off. :confused3

We walked right on to Pirates of the Caribbean. It was great! Love the updates there! We all did. Walking in or perhaps out we saw this guy…

Lots of characters this morning. We were making our way around to frontier land and saw “cowboy/frontier” goofy.

We finally made it to Splash and Thunder Mountain. The waits were already horrible, but that was ok because we had our fast passes!! Woo hoo! We used Fast Pass number one to walk right on to Splash Mountain. It was fun. Jen enjoyed the cute theme. Mom and Dad got in the front and we were behind. Mom got the most wet, but none of us were soaked… just wet. I believe we grabbed another fast pass getting off.

Time to dry off! Thunder Mountain!! (the third mountain…space mountain… was closed for refurb. We were all soooo sad. I really think jen would have loved it!) We used our second fast pass here as it had a crazy wait too!! I kind of forgot how small Thunder Mountain was… I mean no big drops or anything. Still fun though!!
I think we were all waiting for a drop or something that never came. Fun times for all!

After Thunder Mountain it was time for another smoke! We kept an eye out on the map for smoking areas so mom and jen could take advantage as we came to them. There is one right outside Thunder Mountain. I enjoyed the rocking chair.

It was getting late in the after noon and we were getting hungry. We decided to head to Columbia Harbor House. Dad, Mom, and I got salads. Jen got the chicken breast nuggets with fries. Time for the haunted mansion! I LOVE this ride!!! :lovestruc We waited prolly about 5-10 minutes for this ride. It was nice. One of the pop ups in the grave yard did make me jump… This ride is so great.

After haunted mansion it was time for our fast passes for Splash Mountain. This time Jen and I were in front with mom and dad behind us.

This was the first time for Jen to put her hands up EVER!!! Yay!!!!! :dance3:

After getting wet again we jumped on the train to head back to the hotel. It was getting really hot and it was pretty crowded this day. Our plan was to nap/swim and be back in time to get good spots for the parade!

To get back to the car we took the monorail. While waiting my mom saw the driver get out of the front and out of nowhere said “Can we ride up there?”

Woah!!! Way to go mom!! Omg! He said yes!!! I couldn’t believe I didn’t think to ask! :confused:

Here is our wonderful monorail “pilot” Buster. He was great. He was very friendly and answered all of our questions! It was super fun and exciting!

When we got off he gave each of us monorail co pilot cards! I cannot find the picture of it. I will be sure to post it later though. What a great way to end our magic kingdom morning!! :cloud9:

Yay! We let Jen keep it. The photo is signed and it was a card to get 20% off the photo pass which I believe is the same savings if you pre order…

Jen and I hit the pool. It was super busy still from the previously mentioned cheer and dance competition. What was crazy is that it was SO HOT at the park and then when we got to the pool it was cloudy and breezy. We were actually shivering in the water!!! :confused3 I was so mad! wth! We are both very much water people and the pool just did not work out like we wanted it to!

It turned into nap time for Dad and Jen very quickly. I was nervous about napping because it never fails that I wake up with a headache. :headache: Mom and I watched TV for a bit. It was nice to just rest in the room. I of course had the AC set on 55 which meant it was about 60 to 65 in the room. I like it cold. I could freeze out an eskimo. :rotfl: I did eventually sleep, so did mom. I think we woke up about 5pm or so. Our goal was to get back to the park in time to get good seats for Spectro, shop main street, and grab something to eat.

Coming up next! (hopefully later) Evening at Magic Kingdom! SpectroMagic Parade photos! Magic Kingdom open until 3 am!

I just love the Swiss Family Robinson tree house. It has such amazing views of Cinderella's castle.

How was the BLT salad at CHH? I've always eyed it on the menu but never ordered it. Is it worth getting?

Our driver was a hoot indeed! I was in process of taking that picture of him and I hear Jen ask "Do you mind if I take a picture of you?"

I then said "Oh, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to be rude by just snapping a picture!!"

Of course he posed so I really don't think he minded but then I felt bad! :rotfl:

The BLT Salad was really good! I am partial to the salads I make at home, but this did not let me down. It comes with chicken breast nuggets which surprised me. It was very filling. The salad is in a rather large bowl. I don't think any of us finished it. I would recommend it for sure. It was def nice to be able to find a decent salad instead of all the standard fries, hamburgers, etc.

Side note... we stopped in Jacksonville on the way back to visit old friends. They have your puppie's big brother I think! haha! I havent loaded the picture yet. I will hopefully this weekend so i can show you! I totally thot of you when I saw him. Isn't your dog's name Eddie? I couldn't remember... I couldn't help but tell you now though instead of waiting for that point in the trip! This chow was named Buddy. He was too cute and so sweet I wanted to take him with me!!!

I apologize in advance. I believe this update will be a lot of reading, but I promise there are lots of pics too! :goodvibes

I cannot remember the exact time we got back to the Magic Kingdom… I want to say the parade was at 830 and we got there at 7. I could be wrong however… :confused3

Main street was already filling up with people to get their spots for the parade. We found a place near the corner of Casey’s and settled down. Mom and Dad spread out and used the two back packs to help claim enough space for me and Jen. We were off to explore the shops. For dinner I thought maybe Casey’s but hot dogs just wasn’t sounding friendly… so we went to Cosmic Rays… the cast member made it seem closer than it was. Once we got there we just decided to get everyone a bbq pulled pork sandwich. Jen went back to help keep our spots claimed so mom and dad could look around and just to let them know we weren’t kidnapped or lost… I managed to get each of our meals into take out boxes and carried them with skill back to our spot. I say with skill because with out skill I would not have been able to do this. Omg. It was crazy. I had four of those boxes stacked which were pretty much towering to my head. I had to constantly adjust to keep 1. the boxes from crashing 2. to see so I would not crash into someone and sadly 3. to keep my shorts up. LoL :laughing: I forgot to bring any belts and I had to pull this pair of shorts up on occasion! I mean it wasn’t horrible like falling down too far, but I def had a sag going if you will… it was not fun. :headache: When I finally make it back I realize that I was in a rush for no reason. Mom, Dad, and Jen were all there. There was no way mom and dad could have left Jen even with the two bags. We were being swarmed by families with like 5-6 small children each.

I forgot to take pictures of the sandwiches, but needless to say it was just pulled pork. Nothing fancy…

I forgot that Jen bought some mickey ears!!! :lovestruc It was priceless… That is all of us waiting for the parade. By this time Jen and I were ready to give a group of two families to Jen’s left a lecture on parenting and kindness. Omg. About 2 feet from Jen was a garbage can. A woman had sat her little girl down by the trash can. They were both eating. The mother was using the garbage can like a table for her plate. Ew. Haha. The bad part was that she kept telling her husband I believe that her little girls wants her to sit down there but she can because we’re taking up too much room… To summarize this lil story… this woman kept talking about Jen in a rude way. If she would have just tap tap on Jen’s shoulder and actually said something to the effect of “ Excuse me, I’m sorry… but I wonder if you can scoot down just a little bit more so there would be room for me to sit with my daughter?”
Ya know? Well… after about 15-20 minutes of her speaking rudely loud enough for us to hear she finally asks Jen to move down. I love Jen and her reply was something like “Sure. I have no problem scooting down some for you. If you would have just asked I would of moved down sooner. I’ve heard you talking about it for 20 minutes now. All you had to do was ask….” It was great… the woman then tried to play it off because Jen called her on it and she no longer played the victim that she wasn’t… mwahaha! :woohoo:

Now… we had claimed this spot an hour and a half early. It was a deserved spot as anyone who sits on a concrete curb for that long will know it is not fun or easy. By this time though it was crazy packed! Cast members were letting kids jump rope and hula hoop. Fun for kids yes…. Fun for adults when hula hoops miss their faces by half an inch???? Not so much!!! Wth people? Watch your children!!! I was getting flustered. Jen was too. I kept telling Jen that I promised the parade would be worth it. :wizard:

Somehow the previously mentioned woman and her kid were soon replaced by a different family who had small twin girls, a little boy, and a whole gang of other children and adults. To make this story short… (because its def very long) the children kept kneeing, kicking, stepping on Jen… I eventually put my arm behind Jen and rested it on the fire hydrant behind her as a barrier between her and the little girl behind her. My arm got kneed and pushed a lot but better my arm than jens back....the mom and the dad were fighting over EVERYTHING and the grandma at one point told the mom to “grow up”. The mom at one point told the dad to “shut the f___ up”…. At a different point one of the little twin girls was actually IN JENS LAP!! Jen tugged on the dad’s shorts and he was like “Yeah?” peering down at Jen… she said “Um… your daughter is in my lap” He replied “ Is she crying?”
Omg! Are you people serious? No shes not crying… but 1. why would you want your daughter is a strangers lap? 2. what makes you think this stranger wants your daughter in her lap. Wth people?? I forget Jen’s response but we were just shocked and amazed… later the mom was sitting back down and again the kids were hitting jen. The mom snapped and was yelling again and it was directly in Jens ear were she actually put a finger in her ear… the woman later said… Im sorry… Jen just shook her head and acknowledged that she was heard but didn’t say “its ok” or anything… because truth be known it was not ok. It was INSANE! Wheres the magic people???

Ok now that we got the crazy people story out of the way…. Whew. popcorn:: Oh and PS- Jen said she started reading this the other day… so Jen, if you are still reading… Im sorry you got stuck by the crazy people! I heart you!

Their outfits would all be white, then turn color. It was fun! When the parade was done we all agreed it was great. Jen was glad that I wasn’t lying when I said it was worth it… yay!

It was now time for Wishes. We went closer to the castle and waited… it was hard for me just to stand there and wait, but well worth it of course.

I love the castle changing colors!

I didn’t realize all this time when people talked about tink going down the wire that it was a real person! That was so cool! I though it was jus tlight or something lol. Wishes was great. Jen cried. I think my mom did too. I almost did, but managed to hold back. No pictures taken. My dad took video. I haven’t seen it yet though. I enjoyed watching Wishes and watching Jen watch Wishes. It was really lovely. They did such a good job.

Once Wishes was over our goal was to hit up Tomorrow Land for sure. We hadn’t done it yet and I was excited to hit the new monsters inc laugh floor and the buzz light year ride.

My mom loves the Carousel of Progress. I want to say we headed there first, but I could be wrong… It was great. We walked right in, sat down, and it started. This is a must do for our group. The fact that Walt himself started this at the fair way back when is too great. Its such a friendly ride.

We went to the Stitch ride next. Ummm… what a waste of time. I was so disappointed. I love lilo and stitch. This ride was horrible! None of us liked it…. Anyone else agree?

We headed over to Monster’s Inc Laugh after that I think. This was toooooooo great!!! We laughed and laughed and laughed! Jen even got on screen for a second with her mickey ears!

The buzz lightyear ride was great too. I must say though it is really hard to find your little red dot… Jen kicked my butt if I remember correctly. I was not surprised. :worship:

We did the raceway thing too… I cant remember what its called and Im not going to look it up. Lol. You guys know what I mean though yeah?? We all had sucky cars except dad who left us in the dark! Then apparently a car broke down so we seriously sat there for 15 minutes at least to get off!

We made our way around and did the pooh ride, it’s a small world, and all that jazz. We missed Peter Pan though. We also didn’t do Toon Town this day, but we had a whole other day planned to come back so we were not worried. The whole night we jsut walked right into everything... It was so nice. The streets were pretty clear... it was a cool evening. It was great. We were lovin this...

We were towards the back of the castle and I saw Pluto! Yay! There were apparently a lot of character meetings going on around different places. We passed Donald at some point, but the ling was long and I wasn’t that excited for him… sorry Donald lovers!

There is a smoking area right near the back of the castle, so while the girls were smoking I jumped in line for Pluto… while waiting though I see a crowd of people… my eyes follow the crowd… and holy Disney theres Mickey and Minnie!!

They were walking to get in place if you will… I hopped out of Plutos line and jumped in line for Mickey and Minnie… It wasn’t too long of a wait but they kept moving the line over and people kept trying to get further up in the line. It was a little bit frusterating but well worth it. Jen got a picture with Minnie and Mickey together on her first trip! Pixie Dust! They loved her ears of course…

Ok this may be really hard to see… but you see the two specs of rear lights reflecting in the dark? Our van is the one on the left… this is the parking lot for the magic kingdom at about 2:30 in the morning… that’s right folks, we made it until 2:30 and they closed at 3. I must say I was very pleased!

Great updates, Tarah! I love your pics, especially your Spectro ones. Those are always so hard to get good photos of!
I agree with you that Stitch is not a great ride...it is pretty much one of the only things I don't do at WDW. So glad you and Jen both got pics with Mickey and Minnie together! I don't think I've had my photo taken with Mickey and Minnie since I was a little kid. I think I need to try and do that again! :)
Can't wait to hear more!

Ok, catching up for today.

I must say, Frontier Goofy has some BOOTY! :rotfl:

As for waiting for parades and aggrivating people, I AGREE! My DH and I are both pretty tall, but we hate that it supposedly means we always 'have to be in the back' for things. Trust me, I'm 5'9", but if you're 5'6" I still can't see over your head :confused: We got a GREAT spot for Spectro and Wishes (right in front of the castle) a few years ago and purposely got there 1 hour early so we could have this great spot. No one else was 'claiming' spots. So we hung out like you all did and ate some food and talked. Well, Spectro started at 8:00, by the time it got to our area it was about 8:15. At 8:20 this man came from about 3-4 people behind us and hit my DH on the shoulder VERY hard and yelled 'YOU MOVE, YOU'RE TOO TALL!' He was like really combative and rude. Just like you had said, if people had asked nicely, or if there were small children, absolutely, but when we get our spot an hour early and you show up 20 minutes after it starts, don't expect to get a great view. Sorry if that's rude, but we have SO MANY issues with people making us move because we're tall :sad2:

My mom loves COP too! We always do it quite a few times on every trip. My DH and I find ourselves quoting funny parts of it at random times all the time in real life and it cracks us up! "He's no crackerjack prize" :rotfl:

Oh, and I agree, Stitch is stupid! ;)

I'm sorry you share the parade aggravation, but I must also admit I'm glad it's not just us! I am 5'8" so I know what you mean. There were all these kids around and parents are just trying to squeeze them in anywhere they see 6 inches! Just because I am not a 4 year old doesn't mean I don't deserve to sit on the curb especially when getting there over an hour early. Hmpf! ;) I'm glad no one actually hit any of us tho! People are nuts! I don't want to imagine what my dad and Jen would have done if someone hit me... :scared1: lol

I'm glad my fan is correct! Well close enough! :thumbsup2 I saw a sign that said they would personalize the fans. When I asked how much she said for free when you bought a fan. I thought it was neat so I started looking through them all... they were each only $4.50 at everyone i looked at. I consider that a great disney bargain! I originally had a different one picked but it was torn and there wasnt another. Thats when I saw the kitty! Perfect! I get to the register and wouldnt you know I picked the only one over there that was $9! I still really like it though. Thank you for letting me know it does say my name!! :cutie:

I agree with you that Stitch is not a great ride...it is pretty much one of the only things I don't do at WDW. So glad you and Jen both got pics with Mickey and Minnie together! I don't think I've had my photo taken with Mickey and Minnie since I was a little kid. I think I need to try and do that again! :)

I was THRILLED that we were able to get the mickey and minnie pictures. I dont think Ive had my picture with them ever to my knowledge! That night was really great, crazy people and all. :wizard:

Alrighty... not all of my Animal Kingdom pictures made it into photobucket. :headache: I plan sorting and uploading more this weekend... so until then here is a little something to hold you over. It is a little out of whack but you guys dont mind right? I do apologize though it seems like most of this is a dining post.

Day 3 was Animal Kingdom. They were open from 8-5 with no magic hours. That night we had planned to go to Downtown Disney as we had a suprise dinner planned for Mom and Dad at Fulton's Crab House. Well, really this was Jen's surprise for all of us but I knew about it. :thumbsup2

Animal Kingdom was super friendly and I will update about it on Saturday. I promise!

For lunch though we all decided to go to Rainforest Cafe. Bobo (dad) decided this would be his treat. Thanks dad! I really enjoy the theme and remember the food being good in the past. I was not prepared though for just how good my meal was about to be... really...

Dad ordered the Mojo Bones: A full rack of slow-roasted pork ribs, basted with Smokin' Mojo BBQ Sauce, served with cole slaw and Safari fries. He said the ribs were really good. He gave us a bite. I must agree the ribs were spot on.

Jen got the Chicken Fried Chicken: Breaded chicken breast, lightly fried golden brown and topped with country gravy and Napa vegetables. The picture makes it look smaller than it was I think. It was two pieces of chicken and it was so good! The chicken was super tender and juicy. Jen was cutting it with her fork. The veggies were not so great, but everything else was wonderful.

Mom and I both got the Paradise Pot Roast: Tender thick-sliced pot roast and vegetables over mashed potatoes and served in its natural juices. OMG! I recommend everyone go to rainforest cafe and get this... this was the best pot roast I've had in my whole life. I couldn't eat it all and it was killing me! I cannot explain how good this was.. :cloud9: The pot roast had thick slices resting on mashes potatoes surrounded by veggies and it had all the yummy juices on it.. the veggies did include onions and celery which i do not eat, but the carrots were good! :cutie:

Sticking with the out of order theme here... I am jumping to later in the evening on day three. As I mentioned, Animal Kingdom was closing at 5 this day so that evening we headed to Downtown Disney! We got there early so we would have time to walk around a little before our reservation.

I will admit now that we made many trips here... I love downtown disney! It always seemed crazy crowded but it was still great.

We checked in and they said it would be a few minutes and that they would call our name on the loud speaker. It was really busy and full of people!

We heard our name in a few minutes so we headed back to the check in desk to find a long line of people. Some waitresses were standing nearby so I asked where to go that they called our name. She said to go to the desk..rudely I might add. :mad: The desk again had a huge line... I believe Jen walked to the front of it and told the girl that our names were called. She acknowledged Jen, but I dont know what she did. Next thing we know the girl next to the one Jen just spoke to was calling "second call" for our party. Um hello!! I was getting flustered but thankfully was able to let it go... We manage to follow the person to our table through the crowd. The chairs are the stool/chairs and mine was kind of wobbley. I was concerned and nervous about it but it turned out to be fine. We ended up with a fabulous waitress! I mean fabulous! I can't remember her name... I want to say Sarah?

We were brought bread and butter and crackers with this cream cheese crab dip spread...they even give you the recipe card for it. It was quite good minus the onions!

I ordered a pop rocks martini. It wasn't the best martini I ever had, but it was fun and that was really why I got it so it was fine. They bring the glass with the pop rocks in it and pour the martini over top at your table.. it was fun

I don't think the salads were anything to really rave about although the homemade croutons were nice. They were soft with just the slightest crunch.

After looking over the menu for a while Jen and I thought we were going to get this: Louie Fulton's Ultimate Crab and Lobster Experience For Two - Our specialty combination: a feast of steamed crab and lobster. Alaska king crab, snow crab, dungeness crab and 1¼ lb. Maine lobster, with hash browns and grilled asparagus $41.95 per person, minimum two people

Once we were ordering though the waitress let us know that many people complain about it though for lots of different reasons that Ill spare you the details on. Instead she recommended doing a combination of different things which included:
Lobster Narragansett - A fisherman feast. A whole 1¼ lb. Maine lobster, oven roasted, and stuffed with tender shrimp and scallops served with red skin potatoes
It also included an additional side so we picked grilled asparagus. Also it had king crab legs and claws. I forget exactly how the waitress managed to come up with the different way of us getting everything we wanted, but you could def tell she did it a lot because she had it down packed! She knew the different ways to do it and the difference in the pricing. Needless to say we took her advice and it was only a few dollars more in price....

Here is mine and Jen's feast! The crab was to die for!!! The picture does not do justice to the size of this either... it was HUGE!

One of our crab claws was not cracked, so she took it away to have it cracked for us. Instead of us just getting our one little claw back she had a whole order brought to us which was like an additional 5 or 6!! :woohoo:

Dad got Fulton's Crabhouse Seafood Trio - A taste of everything: perfectly seasoned wahoo fish, grilled shrimp and a super lump crab cake with basil cream and Yukon gold whipped potatoes. It looks small but it was still a lot of food... dad said it was great. He especially like the fish.

Mom got Seafood Cioppino - Our version of a San Francisco classic. With king crab, shrimp, clams, mussels, scallops and fresh fish in tomato herb broth, served over linguine . This thing was gianormous!!!! She said it was great too. I had a bite and must admit it was really good.

Now this place is CRAZY expensive and including the tip the bill came to right under $300.... we must admit that although the food was AMAZING we would have rather spent the money on something else... like circ de soliel tickets maybe? Needless to say we had lots of left overs too...

After dinner we continued our way around Downtown Disney. It was gettign pretty late and we had to get up early the next day.

I made a mickey krispy treat covered in caramel and rainbow sprinkles... I must say it was sooooo good! The other is pretzel sticks dipped in caramel and rolled in almonds... they were ok but eventually I threw a lot away. It took me a few days to eat the mickey treat but it aaaalllll got eaten! :cloud9:

The woman said they usually use the caramel to drizzle only but she managed to get my mickey treat covered quite well using a popsicle stick.

This weekend I will update with our day in Animal Kingdom! Expedition Everest! DeVine! Yay! :yay:

Ohh, I actually didn't love the burrito... we got the combination platter and the quesadilla, chicken taco, and churro were sooooo good! But by the time I ate all that, I didn't care about not liking the burrito!:rotfl: DH loved it though! I gave DH a heads up about looking for you guys too!!! But then once I got there, I couldn't remember which days were were supposed to be in the same park! I should have marked it on my schedule!:headache:

We saw lots of animals. Even the baby elephant! (scroll back up if you missed it...) It was difficult though to get pictures of many of them. We were very happy with our safari! :goodvibes

We made our way back around the park and did Its Tough To Be A Bug. A very cute show, but I remember it being better... :confused3 We had missed the Nemo show and the Lion King show which we all very, very much wanted to do. I was still soaking wet and we were all hungry and tired by this point. Our last day of the trip was a "free" day, so we decided to call it a day at AK and finish up on Friday... It would also give us another chance to ride Everest! Woo hoo!

Oh my goodness, your dinner at Fulton's has me drooling! We ate there way back in 2003 (when it was included in the DDP!) and it was sooooo amazing. I would absolutely love to go back there again but you're right, it's so expensive! Mmmm I could go for some King Crab right now though!

We did some major shopping... and that is a serious understatement. I attempted to take pictures of things we bought because I know I enjoy seeing things people get from Disney!

My mother and I quickly became addicted to DTD. It was too great and too easy for us to find things for everyone. Especially my sister, my nephew, and neice...

Remember how I said we went into the TRex place but not to eat? Well... we built dinosaurs!! I built one for me and mom built one for Pierce (my 3 year old nephew) I name mine Delilah and mom named Pierce's Little Foot. (Land Before Time movie anyone??)

On a later trip we decided we needed (lol yes needed :rolleyes1) to make one for Hallise (9 month old neice) so she would have one too! They became lots of fun to play with along the trip. Especially the car ride home... we will get to that eventually.

Oh, but first a little side story!

At our hotel they had lots of little games and surveys they would play near the entrance of the arcade and food court...

One night they had a contest to see who could write the most Disney characters in 1 minute... I think the number to beat was like 29. This seemed like an easy thing for us to do. We stepped up to the challenge. The rules were one person could write and you could have three people help. I took the marker (it was a small dry erase board on an easel) The tricky part is that you're trying to hurry and writing out names while trying to keep think can be hard! I can sit here an go on for ten minutes listing characters, but to write them out while listening to your own thoughts, those around you, and feel rushed was tricky. :rolleyes: We ended up with like 33 or 34... Another group came up behind us and beat us by one!! We couldn't have this... so mom took over the writing and we tried again. This time we did 42 or so... a couple more groups tried and didn't beat us. Then, the same group who beat us before got a new person to write and tried again. The CM stated that spelling didn't count as long as they could figure out who it was...

Well! They ended up beating us by 2 or 3 but mom and I were irritated because they wrote things like "SW" for Snow White!! :mad: In my mind that wasn't fair... The winning group got a special cast member pin of tinker bell... My irritation lingered a bit when I saw the CM who was helping had the pin and the girl who got third place ended up trading one for it.. :rotfl: For us though it wasn't so much the prize ... we're just competitive and we wanted another chance since they were kind of cheaters!! I laugh about it now even typing this.. for getting second place we got a TON of stickers...

They have that BASIN store at DTD. When I read about it I wasn't so much interested. Places that like give me instant headache, but I saw a sign that said they had bath bombs on sale and I thought of a friend of mine who would love that as a gift.

Jen ended up getting a sugar scrub that is FABULOUS!! This place was pretty neat. They had handmade soaps that had lots of Disney designs on them. I am partial to my soap though and didn't care to get any. The bath bombs were neat too but I wasn't thrilled until I saw a Mickey one! When you drop it in the bath water and it starts to break up and fizzle a ton of little mickey head confetti start to float everywhere! Its too cute! We got some for gifts and for ourselves..

Funny side story... We were in the HUDE Disney store @ DTD. The World of Disney Store... I found some cute night gowns that I wanted to show my mom. I called her so she would come see. When she walked over she had one in her hand! Go figure...the funny part is she got the last one that said "Queen of the Kingdom" which left some that said "Queen of the Castle" ... we then had a funny discussion on how hers trumped mine... lol Jen and Dad were both like "Oh God..." and they declared that we could only be "queens" when we had on the gowns. lol. Now... that is not EVERYTHING we bought, but I feel like that is ample amount of shopping posts. lol. It is hard to find the pictures because they are all through the mix because I took them throughout the trip.
