View Full Version : Dear Disney, Please make DBF fall in love w/you! - a PTR (MEMORY OF THE DAY 5/27!)

Yay I’m doing my very own, very first PTR!! I hope you’ll all enjoy it and sorry if my abbreviations aren’t standard I’m still working on it :lmao: We were supposed to go in January but had to postpone it due to financial reasons :sad1: but some of you Snowbirds might remember me! Sorry I dropped off the face of the earth lol
I’m very excited because…
(a.) Well… it’s DISNEY!!
and (b.) I’m taking DBF for his very first trip! (It’s my 19th :scared1:)
oh and (c.) FREE DINING!!
So we will me there Monday 8/17 thru Saturday 8/22. We had to squish it in after our week at his family cottage in Canada and before classes start for both of us on the 24th. Currently I am impatiently awaiting the release of the August hours so for now here is my “cast of characters!”
Me – 22
College student going for my BS in Biology and graduating in December
DBF – 23
Also a college student, graduating with his BA in History this month and going to Grad school for his teaching certificate and one day hopes to be a Principal! (if you knew him and his behavioral track record in school this would make you :rotfl2:)
http://i453.photobucket.com/albums/qq256/kaos928/PTR/concert.jpg
All of my other trips have been with my immediate family DMom (soon-to-be-45), DDad (48) DSis - Anna (21) and DSis – Becca (19), with the occasional tag along(s). Here is the impressive list compiled with the help of DM. I plan on adding lots of photos next time I am home and can scan some in so please stay tuned!!!
1994
February at the Ramada Main Gate
At the time I was 7 and in 2nd grade, Anna was 6 and Becca 3. It took me a while of working on my parents to get them to take us on this trip!! “But mooooOOOOooom EVERYONE at school gets to go EVERY year!!!” which at the time did not seem like a gross exaggeration since the majority of families in the district (not including ours lol) was substantially affluent! This would be the beginning of a lifetime obsession for both my Mom and I (sometimes I think DMom is even more obsessed then I am!!) I am surprised that at 7 I vividly remember pulling into the hotel, I think we must have flown this time and rented a car.
1995
February at Days Inn
1996
February at All-Star Music
Our first time staying on-property!! Aweeeesomeness. To me this was our “home” at Disney for many years
November at Days Inn
1997
February at Dixie Landings
OMG the only thing I REALLY remember is we ALL had a TERRIBLE flu that we got when we stopped to visit friends in NC on the drive down. That sure didn’t stop us from seeing the parks though!
November at Contemporary
By this time I was 11 and in 6th grade, Anna was 9 and Becca 7. We stayed in one of the out buildings, which was all right. The pool was sweeeet and we did “tape-art” where they let us make humongous pictures on the wall using painters’ tape. I’ll see if DMom still has the pictures.
1998
November at Coronado Springs
1999
February at All-Star Music
April at All-Star Movies & Music
November at All-Star Sports
2000
February at All-Star Sports
October at 2000 All-Star Music
2001
February at the Grosvenor in Downtown Disney, w/DCousin then 14
It was awesome to be able to walk to DTD!
2002
February at All Star Music
Oh no we missed a year in 2003! :sad2:
2004
February at Port Orleans
December at Pop Century
No trips in 2005 either :sad1: Both Anna and I (at 17) had moved out of our parents’ house.
2006
February at Pop Century
August at Pop Century w/DBiL and DNephew then 3
This was Anna’s Disneymoon <3 They stayed at Disney for a few days then we kept her new step-son at Disney with us while they headed down to the Keys to visit DMom’s cousin in Islamorada then on the Key West. It was awesome to see Disney through at child’s eyes again! I nearly cried when we went to see the Little Mermaid and he was popping the bubbles and I remember how I used to do that when I was little :’) *happy tears*
Most/all of the November trips were over Thanksgiving when we meet our neighbors for a turkey dinner at Port Orleans (?) great memories. Later they would get a time-share in Sarasota :-p
We drove from upstate NY many, many times but were fortunate enough to fly when we could afford it.
Weren’t we just the luckiest kids!
I can’t believe it will have been almost 3 years by the time we go in August! How depressing. :sad1::laughing:
OK that’s all for now I don’t want to overwhelm anyone! lol
To come...
Pictures from my past trips.
Will the August hours ever be released?
Can DBF ever understand? (hint: unlikely!)
Will anyone actually read this :rotfl:

It's going to be his 2-3 time, but the first time was in high school, 2nd time was with an ex (booo hiss) and this is his third time...and he does not like Disney much! He is giving it a chance though..so I better make it amazing for him! I'm subbing. Can't wait to hear more..where are you guys staying? We can work together to find ideas about things to make our DBF LOVEEEE Disney!

 Someone totally needs to start a thread for us! Since this is my DBF's first trip I have a lot of hope but I need to make sure to do the things that he'll like so it's gonna take a lot of planning (and a little scheming :rotfl:) Oh and he already promised we could go again to celebrate when I get my first real job so I have at least two chances! And he agreed to eventually get DVC :cheer2: I talked him into because of all the places you CAN go with the points but what I DIDN'T tell him is that I'm always gonna want to go back to Disney! :rotfl2:
I'm subbing!! :) :thumbsup2

Still no park hours :sad1: Don't they know we need to start planning!!! Ugh. Forgot to mention... we are staying at ASMu, I wanted to stay at POP (love the themeing and didn't want to have to share buses with Movies and Sports) but alas, The Resort you requested is unavailable Boo! When I looked day-by-day it looks like there's only a preferred room on Wednesday and NO rooms on Thursday :sad2: But I think maybe ASMu will be better for DBF anyway, he's really concerned about being surrounded by screaming children all week :confused3 So we will probably just stick to were we are!
I am still trying to decide on ADRs, I did go over the list with DBF but almost everywhere he wanted to eat was in EPCOT! I mean I looove EPCOT but we can't spend our whole vacation there! :rotfl:
I know we only have 5 TS but here is a list of places we are thinking of eating:
Trail's End at Fort Wilderness
We are her a LOT when I was a kid and I remember loving it but when I told DBF the kinds of things they serve he was like "We can eat that here, we're at Disney we should do something different!" Love the enthusiasm and I guess I can't argue with that :confused3
'Ohana
I don't really know anything about this place except I've heard that it has gone down hill recently? Any thoughts??
Coral Reef
This is a definite dinner for us! Seafood is my FAVE!!
Le Cellier
Nine Dragons
DBF looooves Chinese food... me not so much:sad2: I might make him stick to CS in China but I haven't decided yet :p
Rose & Crown
Tutto Italia
Sci-fi Dine-In
We also went here a lot when I was a kid and I love the atmosphere!
Raglan Road
DBF wants this one also
I'm tempted to do any ADRs DBF wants in hopes that it will help him fall for Disney :thumbsup2
So in summary... definitely Coral Reef and LeCellier, I guess Nine Dragons and Raglan Road so I have to pick one more. Maybe not Sci-fi since I've been there so many times and kind of want to try something new... we already have EPCOT meals so that just leaves 'Ohana! Unless we decide on Yak & Yeti or Tusker house... forgot about those  I could definitely use some input here? What are your "must eat at" restaurants??
I'm actually thinking of making a list of things I want to use our snack credits on... is that going WAAAY overboard or what?:rotfl2: I just don't want to miss anything! I'm not even going to try to do any extensive planning til I have the hours though. I may tentatively plan our CS meals but will probably throw them out the window when we get there :rotfl: Oh I'm also thinking of OOP at Rainforest Cafe :scared1:
Coming up...
When will I post our previous vacation pictures? (hint: I'm going to attempt to use the scanner at school tomorrow)
Who are we leaving behind?
What are our "must sees"?
Will DBF check me into the loony bin? :rotfl2:
Oooh 104 more days

When deciding where to eat with DBF, I made a powerpoint presentation :rotfl:i told him to choose his top 10 places, and I choose some places where I wanted to eat, and we were able to get everywhere we wanted except one! a huge help in making the decision was the PP i made- i had pictures, etc etc so we could see all our options.
Ohana is on my list, I have never tried it and I am very excited to try it! Let me tell you that Raglan Road is a MUST DO for me. DELICIOUS FOOD! YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT!!!
You could do a meal at the boardwalk...flying fish is 2 ts meals but I've heard great things about it. Another place that is a must for me is Germany..all you can eat German buffet! yummy! good luck with your choices!
Yay park hours!! All but AK for some reason... :confused3
They're up now! Is it just me, or does 9a-9p @ Epcot just not seem right? I mean, they list Illuminations as starting at 9p. :confused3
Yay! Hope it went well :)
I got a B in both classes! My teacher was astonished that I did a 100 question test in 20 minutes. Dude doesn't understand that I *hate* taking tests, & if I don't need to make a 100 to maintain my grade, then I'm not going to!
What are your "must eat at" restaurants??
I must eat at Boma for breakfast (that buffet looks like an insane carb fest, and I'm all over that. I plan on losing weight between now & then just so I can enjoy a mouthful of banana bread & bread pudding for breakfast. *yum*
I also want to eat at Jiko - can't decide if that will be my birthay dinner or if we'll find one at Epcot. I love Epcot!
I also want to try California Grill & the venison spring rolls at Artist Point. I can't decide between the two of these for our date night!
Since we're staying off-site, we'll be eating at the condo a lot, and some CS restaurants too. I wanna try the tuna sandwich at Columbia Harbor. I'm sure it's super fattening; I doubt it's made with light mayo.

Hey I made it over (ok so I was going to eat but the interest got the better of me :)) Ok so I'm so excited about August hrs for one thing. Second is I must say these similarities between us have got to stop! We're only doing one one TS when we go and guess what it is...LeCellier, one of your must do's!!!! Seriously have you been watching me my entire life!!! :rotfl: (J/K by the way) Ok so I've never eaten at Ohana's but from what I've read from people's TR they all pretty much love it so it probably would be a good choice. Guess what, I don't like Chinese food either (seriously stop!) but I did eat at Nine Dragons and it wasn't that bad, I actually ate enough to fill me and it was pretty good. We ate at Raglan Road once and hated it. The food was aweful, maybe it was a one time occurance but in my opinion we will never eat there again (unless my dbf wants to cause as you know we are both trying to get them to love disney!!!) The Yak & Yeti was ok, I'm not big on Asian food but it was ok, I liked the different atmosphere and obviously I found something to eat. I would go here if you want something a little different (at least it was different to me!) Ok I'm sorry that was so long but I hope it helps!!!!

Wow that is speedy! :rotfl2: My problem is the opposite even if I don't need 100 I still try like hell to get one. I'm a ridiculous overachiever/perfectionist :confused3 and I hate it :rotfl:

Boma sounds great! I was going to try to eat breakfasts in the room since we only get 2 meals a day but we'll see. I'll have to look into Jiko too, I don't really know anything about it! No signature meals for us :sad1: I just can't justify spending 2 TS credits on them! I think I'm going to take shordiebecka's idea from her PTR and make a slide show for DBF. Thanks for your input! :goodvibes

I would def. check Raglan Road out, maybe see if other people have eaten there cause I don't want to tell you not to and then have it be a really great restaurant. Like I said it could have just been that they were off that day. so yeah I would def. check. Ok a power point, that's getting a little too OCPD...then again...hmmm could work. I can't see the Ak hours yet either but I found a post that said she got the hrs. from her TA so I'm using them for now until the hours come out. They seem right so they're probably accurate. Here they are for ya...
August 1-8: 9am-7pm
August 9-22: 9am-6pm
August 23-31: 9am-7pm
Extra Magic Hours: Morning: 1,5,8,12,15,19,22,24,31
Evening: 3,10,17,29
And if you're wondering about Fantasmic one of the people on that thread said they were a TA and that Fantasmic: Aug. 2,3,6,9,11,13,16,18,20 @ 9pm and Aug. 23,25,27,30 @ 8:30. Not completely sure about these ones but hey it gives us something.
If you would like to know about Spectro: Aug. 1-15,18,21-23,27,29,31 @9pm and Wishes: 10pm every night MK is open until 10, not sure about the days it closes at 9, they weren't really clear about that one. Hope this helps. I know it helped me!

I am attempting to make my itinerary. So here is my conundrum:
When I am supposed to go to DHS?? (sidenote- we do have park hoppers)
I don't have the hours on hand so I'll have to go by memory here...
We arrive Monday at about 3pm, DHS closes at 7 by the time we get to ASMu via ME and get settled in it's going to be too late to bother, I think
Tuesday is a Fantasmic day and I've also heard its one of the busier days at DHS for some reason :confused3
Wednesday they have evening EMH we will be there for that but that is only 3 hours and not enough DHS time! I don't really want to be there during the day because of EMH crowds and its another busy DHS day, or so I hear
Thursday is another Fantasmic day :sad1:
Friday they have morning EMH
We are leaving EARLY on Saturday
So when should we go to DHS?!?!? HELP!!

Hey sorry I haven't been on in like two days. My last final was yesterday and then we went out to celebrate! As far as HS goes, do you not want to go on a day with Fantasmic? I was just wondering why those days would be bad. If you don't want to go on Tues. because it's a busy day then I would say go on Thurs. Are you going to see Fantasmic? I would say go for park opening on Thurs, do as much as you can and then go back to the room for a rest if you want and head back for Fantasmic. That's what we have to do cause Fantasmic's not every night now. Hope that helps!!!!

So I have semi-finalized my itinerary!! I will probably rearrange it 10 times before August but at least for now I feel like I've accomplished something!
So here's the run down: (still working on ADRs)
Monday
Land in Orlando at 2:54 :goodvibes:goodvibes
Arrive via ME around 4:30 (??)
Have dinner... somewhere? I think we will be STARVING by the time we get to ASMu so we will probably eat there
Head over to AK ASAP!!
EMH 6pm - 9pm
Tuesday
EMH at MK at 8am

Hey sorry I haven't been on in like two days. My last final was yesterday and then we went out to celebrate! As far as HS goes, do you not want to go on a day with Fantasmic? I was just wondering why those days would be bad. If you don't want to go on Tues. because it's a busy day then I would say go on Thurs. Are you going to see Fantasmic? I would say go for park opening on Thurs, do as much as you can and then go back to the room for a rest if you want and head back for Fantasmic. That's what we have to do cause Fantasmic's not every night now. Hope that helps!!!!
Oh the reason I was worried about Fantasmic days is because it is only a few times a week and I've heard horror stories of crazy crowds on those days :scared1: Sorry I should have explained! We're not going to see Fantasmic, probably another time be we have sooo much to jam into this couple days we're skipping it this trip. We will probably just go for EMH of Wednesday night and Friday morning and stay on Friday as long as we need to or until it gets too crowded :confused3

We totally plan on running around like crazy while we're there, so I understand. :lmao: I was also in a little dilema when I tried to figure out what places to eat (it's my hubby's first time, too and I REALLY want him to fall in love with Disney! ) But we narrowed it down and got every ADR we wanted!! :woohoo: Good luck on getting your ADRs!

Thanks for joining!! Yeah we're pretty much going to Epcot just to eat one day :rotfl: But it's a good thing for free dining or we probably wouldn't be eating at any of these places at all so it's hard to complain! Well I am finally done with this semester! :cheer2:
Friday DBF and I are headed upstate to Black Lake with some of my family for a weekend fishing trip! :) You know what that means... mini-TR!! :lmao: And probably lots of pictures of my adorable nephew who's coming along, too.
So I may or may not be on DIS a whole lot for the next two weeks... it's going to be soo busy around here! Today I have to do some preliminary packing for the weekend, we got the house mostly cleaned this afternoon. Tomorrow I have to go grocery shopping, finish packing and pack up the car so we can hit the road as soon as DBF gets done with his last test.
Sunday night we get back then on Monday I start my "May Term" class at school which is 8:50 to 1 Mon-Fri for the next 2 weeks. That will probably keep me pretty busy, packing 3 credits into two weeks!
Then the weekend following that we are moving out of our townhouse, I am moving home for June/July and DBF is staying with his Grandma who lives closer to the grad school he is starting at next week! So we have to be apart for the whole summer :sad2: but after that things will slow down until August, phew!
I get to make my ADRs on Tuesday!!!!
I need to come up with backups, just in case, too!
That means...
95 days left!!

So I called for my ADRs this morning! Let me tell you how it went...
I called at about 7:01 and I guess I should have called earlier because I was told it was a 30 minute wait! So I figured I better start getting ready while I was on hold and thank goodness I did. Unfortunately for some reason I could BARELY hear the on-hold 'entertainment' it kept cutting out, was very quiet and fuzzy. I had heard the initial recordings fine so I knew it wasn't my phone and it was slightly depressing :sad2: Anyway I put the phone on speaker while I got dressed, I brushed my teeth managed to do my make-up AND straighten my hair. :scared1: All-in-all I actually waited for OVER an hour and listened to the on-hold loop 3 times!!
When a CM finally picked up I of COURSE got one with a darned thick spanish accent. dang. All of it went smoothly until she went to give me the reservation numbers and our R&C reservation was gone  Somehow she had booked Biergarten instead and I was really hoping for that 8:30 reservation so we could ask for a patio table and watch illuminations :sad1: The latest they had was 6:55. I guess I will try to call back and get a later time, especially at 30 days.
Tried to get dinner at Le Cellier on our last full day but all they had was 2:45! Who eats at 2:45!! :lmao: Oh well I'll take what I can get I guess.
Anyway here's what we got...
Tuesday
Rose & Crown - 6:55pm (wanted 8:30)
Wednesday
Nine Dragons - 12:30pm
Thursday
1900 Park Fare - 10am
Coral Reef - 4:05pm (wanted 4:30)
Friday
Le Cellier - 2:45pm (wanted 5)

Yay for ADRs!!! Glad you at least got the restuarants you wanted and hey maybe you'll be lucky and get a later one for LeCellier when you call back. Maybe if you eat really really slowly you'll still be able to see Illuminations and hey since it's an earlier reservation it might make it easier to get a table on the patio since the people who are coming to see illuminations will be there later? This means the trip is getting closer!!!

OK time for a side-trip.... fishing upstate with my family!!
Friday: A road trip with a ridiculous amount of stops :faint:
DBF still had 2 finals left! Luckily they were early and we ended up hitting the road around 12:30 after running all around selling back our books, returning library books, and spending the rest of our "points" from our meal plans (they take them away at the end of Spring semester, grr) and gasing up we hit the road. I was in the car with the puppies and DBF on his motorcycle.
An hour and a half later we arrived at his grandma's where we were dropping off his motorcycle (more about that later!) We got it stowed away in the barn and sad hi to gram! (Love that lady!) We were back on the road pretty fast.
Another hour or so later we were at my parent's house. They were already at Black Lake but we picked up my dad's tackle box that he left behind and dropped of my puppy with their dogs that one of my aunts were taking care of.
Then we headed to Oswego to see DBF's sister, she wanted to watch his dog for the weekend, so a little of an hour later we met her in the parking lot of the Chinese Buffet put the dog in her car and went in to grab dinner. I totally chowed down on crab legs!! :rotfl: Oh we also stopped at Wal-Mart for our fishing licenses, tent stakes, and a new life vest for Red.
Back on the road again we had another 2 hours to get to the campground and we finally arrived at 7:20pm :faint: Here was the view from my parent's cabin:
http://i453.photobucket.com/albums/qq256/kaos928/black%20lake/IMG_0015-1.jpg
We threw some of our stuff in the cabin and the rest in DBFs tent that DSis and her BF setup earlier in the day:
http://i453.photobucket.com/albums/qq256/kaos928/black%20lake/IMG_0014.jpg
Well when we got there the campfire was in full swing. Their were hot dogs and hamburgers on the grill and Red told me all about the pike he caught. It was thiiiiiiiis big:
http://i453.photobucket.com/albums/qq256/kaos928/black%20lake/IMG_0013.jpg
Unfortunately there aren't any more pictures from that night cuz it was getting dark and I left my camera inside.
So who was there?? Well DM and DD DGramps (DM's dad) and nephew Red who were staying in the cabin, DSis and her BF who were staying with us in the tent. Also, two of my uncles (DD's brothers) and other DGramps (DD's dad) and 2 of my cousins! Phew that was a lot of people lol
Even though we had dinner I managed to eat a hot dog... followed by several marshmallows... then several more s'mores :rotfl2: Red effectively charred a few marshmallows himself.
At this point we decided to try to set up the air mattress which DBF's mom had put in his boat which DSis and her BF towed up earlier in the day with the tent. So he goes inside and gets it and comes back out to tell me that there's no pump. WHAT?!?! So after 10 minutes or so of fretting and asking around I come to find out he never even opened the box! And can you guess what was inside?? Yep a pump! Well it took us quiet a while to pump that thing up and by that time and after all the traveling we were wiped! We went back up to the cabin to get ready for bed and by the time we got back to the tent we could already tell that the mattress had lost air. This thing was brand new for crying out loud! Well we passed out anyway and were on the ground sometime in the wee hours. And I was f-f-f-freezing most of the night, luckily DBF kept me pretty warm
Saturday
We got up and went inside sometime after 6am and I took a nap on the couch well DBF went out fishing with DGramps, DSis and her BF.
After an exciting night, Red didn't wake up until 10am! He promtly picked out and all camouflage outfit (his favorite) and insisting on wearing his new life vest during breakfast
http://i453.photobucket.com/albums/qq256/kaos928/black%20lake/IMG_0001.jpg
I think he was still a little tired :rotfl:
We had some fun around the cabin until the fishermen came back:
http://i453.photobucket.com/albums/qq256/kaos928/black%20lake/IMG_0003.jpg
Peter Pan?!
It was looking like rain and getting pretty rough so the fishermen came back for lunch but not before DSis and her BF got completely soaked by a breaking wave :rotfl: The rest of us got out stuff out of the tent so it wouldn't get wet since we couldn't get the tarp to stay on. Pretty soon it started thunderstorming on and off. DGramps hit the road pretty early, guess he got his fill :confused3 Red donned his camo sneakers, DD's camo hat and DSis's camo sunglasses for some photos
http://i453.photobucket.com/albums/qq256/kaos928/black%20lake/IMG_0010.jpg
http://i453.photobucket.com/albums/qq256/kaos928/black%20lake/IMG_0012.jpg
Hey where'd he go?!? :lmao:
That afternoon we did some fishing off the docks for perch and sunfish between rainstorms since the waters were pretty rough. Red caught a good one and ran up to the cabin to show it off
http://i453.photobucket.com/albums/qq256/kaos928/black%20lake/IMG_0008.jpghttp://i453.photobucket.com/albums/qq256/kaos928/black%20lake/IMG_0009.jpg
I can't remember but I think that evening some of them went back out on the boat?
Since DGramps had headed home DBF and I slept in the 2nd bedroom and DSis and her BF slept on the pull out. MUCH better than the wet tent and deflated air mattress!
Sunday
We woke up early DSis her BF and DD took the boat out. DBF and I got ready and started to pack up and took the tent down. By then they were getting the boat out of the water and everyone got back to pack and clean up the cabin. We stuffed the cars to the brim and after there was nothing left that DBF and I could help with we hit the road around 12:30. We stopped for gas and BK in Watertown and we stopped at Wal-Mart again to pick up some school supplies for DBF who was starting grad school the next day! We also picked up DBF's dog and heard she was very well behaved and even made friend's with a fox terrier who was approximately the size of her head :rotfl2: Another hour later we were turning onto my parent's road and there they were right behind us! I don't know how much later the left after us but they managed to catch up. So we scooped up my doggie and got back on the road.
This time when we stopped at his Grandma's I had to leave DBF behind :sad1: his Grandma's is MUCH closer to his grad school so for the rest of May he will be staying there Sunday and Monday night (his classes are Mon/Tue) and coming back to our townhouse Tuesday to Sunday. He'll also be staying there for June and July while I stay at home to save some money before we move in August.
I made it the rest of the way home by around 7:30 and boy was I tired and I started my May Term class on Monday! Busy busy busy. And ever since I got home I have had a depressed pathetic pit bull attached to my hip that really misses her daddy! Exhibit A:
http://i453.photobucket.com/albums/qq256/kaos928/black%20lake/MyPicture.jpg
Luckily he is on his way home as we speak!

So I have a LOT of shopping to do in the next ... 86 days! Although I really only have 77 days until we leave for Canada and there's only one day in between:eek: I did put in a big order on minimus.com a while ago. I had a lot of fun on there! :lmao:
I have our crocs picked out! I never though I would wear crocs but they have some really cute ones now! And yes I did pick out DBFs lol the other night I said "Hey hunny you wanna see the shoes your getting for Disney?" :rotfl: Anyway here they are!!
http://shop.crocs.com/images/product/medium/110_1_navyseafoam.jpg
Cleos $29.99
Not really sure what color I want....
Let's have a vote!!
You can see them all here (http://shop.crocs.com/pc-110-4-cleo.aspx?navcategories=3,121)
OK now for DBFs
http://shop.crocs.com/images/product/medium/32_1_blackpearl.jpg
Scutes also $29.99
I'm hoping to order them soon so I can use them over the summer and break them in a bit :thumbsup2
Also I'm trying to find some sort of water bottles with filters, anyone know of any where I can get these?
I really wanted to get new bag for the parks but I can't justify spending the money so we'll just stick to the good old backpack. Plus that way DBF will help carry it :)
I also need to get one of those shoe holder organizer thingies that I'll pack all the little stuff in easy to find clear pockets. Whoever thought of this originally was a genius!!
Plus lots and lots of odds and ends! Plus clothes... DBF will probably just get a bunch of white tanks and mesh shorts. I'll probably do most of my shopping over the summer at my aunt's consignment shop where I'll be working part-time! Unfortunately I will probably spend most of the $$ I make on clothes :sad2: lol

I need to find a shoe holder also. I also always to a fold up mesh clothes hamper to use while there.

I love both of those colors!
I have heard of the hamper thing too but I don't think we really need it since there are only two of us and its only 5 nights :confused3

Well I have been reading tinkgurl's PTR and since I missed the part where everyone shared their memories about certain attractions I though I would post mine here!! Also if you have any memories you would like to share, please feel free, I love to read them! :goodvibes
We'll start our journey at the Magic Kingdom...
Carousel of Progress
My memories from CoP aren't really specific but I just get warm fuzzies from it :lovestruc A lot of times just me and DM would ride since we were the only ones who really loved it and DDad would take my sisters off to do something else. :confused3 Anyway I had a great time hanging out with DM doing something we both enjoyed. We also did this with TTA, I guess we're the low-key ones, but don't get me wrong I LOVE me a thrill ride or roller coaster!!
Isn't this such a great show?!? :)

CUTE shoes! I already bought us some Crocs (mine with Mickey heads!), but since my hubby likes them so much I may have to buy some more! :rolleyes1
One of my favorite memories from the last time I went (like 15 years ago!) was resort hopping. We stayed at the Contemorary and explored the resorts in that area. The Poly was soooooo neat! My cousin and I walked around the gift shops at the resorts and just checked things out (and I had to find the staircase area from Full House in the GF where D.J. and her boyfriend reunite, cheezy, haha!). I totally plan on exploring a few this trip!

Thanks :) I like resort hopping, too. It's nice to see how the other half lives :rotfl:

Those shoes are really cute! Hmmm some more shopping might be in order! :rotfl: My COP memory isn't really specific either, I LOVE this ride. No one else in my family likes it but I make them go on it every year. Whenever I say I want to go on it they always exclaim, "Yay nap time!" Ugh, I just roll my eyes because at least they're going on it!

Haha, yeah and seriously they fall asleep, not kidding! Haha I made a deal with dbf, he told me that if I never ever sing the song then he'll go on it with me. I love to torture him with that song but that must end so he'll go on it with me! Hey I do what I gotta do! I'm sure you'll figure out something.

oh man..dbf hates crocs!! i have mary jane ones that i'm in love with, and i can't wait to buy pink ones for disney. they are excellent! i never ever got a blister and wore them for 5 nights, 6 days. I was going back and forth about the laundry mesh bag too..and i am going to bring one. I will be there 8 nights though. For me, it's just a matter of organization. When I go on vacation, I like to unpack my stuff, and get organized. I can't stand not knowing what's clean and whats dirty and piles of clothes stacked all over the place..that's just me though. I get crazy about things like that!

I really think he should at least try it once, you know, for the experience, but he doesn't seem to agree with me

Yeah I figure we'll just unpack and then we can throw our dirty stuff back in our suitcases. We'll probably bring some garbage bags in case we need to bring clean clothes home. I'm really trying to minimize since I'm a chronic over-packer :rotfl:
Maybe you should let IASW slide, since he'll have to ride it a million times when you have kids. :cutie: Then you can use it as leverage to ride something else, or dinner, or OH! Have him get up in front of the restaurant & do something foolish, if you're going to that kind of place!

Ooo I agree. Forget IASW if you could get him to do that! That would be so worth not going on the ride! I know my family and I best memories are ones where someone in our family made a complete fool of themselves!

Any ideas where we can go?

So I know the title "Memory of the Day" isn't totally appropriate at this point :rotfl: It'll be a little rough my 2nd summer class started today so I have TWO intense classes going on right now AND we're moving on Saturday :faint:
Space Mountain
My best memory of Space Mountain isn't on the ride but in line. In the very first room when you enter there used to be tons of silver balls, like the kind you would find in the ball pit at like a Chuck E Cheese or something. Anyway me and my sisters nabbed a bunch of them (I don't know why our parent's ever let us do this?!...) I guess we drove that year because I remember stopping for a bathroom break and sliding the van door open and silver balls falling out and rolling around the parking lot :rotfl2: ...or maybe you had to be there

Update!!
We have switched our arriving flight! Since they changed our flight time we got to switch for free!! We will now be arriving at the World 4 hours earlier :cheer2: Yes we do have to leave at the crack of dawn (6am) and we now have a layover instead of a direct flight (only like an hour) but I don't care cuz it means more time at WDW :goodvibes And we won't be so rushed after we arrive, we will actually have some time to relax (if a allow that :rotfl:)
