Hey,

Since we have So many doing the FE. I wouldn't mind if we assigned days, cause it looks as if most will do it once. And if everyone does it on the same day that could be ALOT of stuff to not fit into the FE bags made?
We could just ./. by how many and make then just do lets say 1/2 on one day and 1/2 on the next day.:) Or split by 1/4's of the group into 4 days.:)
What do you all think? I am up for it.:) If you all want to.

I am sorry but I am gonna say no Please don't be mad but I feel like that makes it not as fun and for the past three cruises I never knew when I might be up with the kids at 10:30pm or am going around dropping goodies:scared1:

Thanks, I think it would work better since we have so many and then the kids would get something almost everyday!!

And another quesiton: I haven't told my friends that are going about the FE because did we decide that we wouldn't add anymore after a certain date? I don't want to hurt their kids feelings and wanted to make sure if it is ok for them to still join before asking them.:) They are pretty easy going mom and dad so if not they will understand but can they?

Stephanie - Could you do something on the website and to let people select what day they would like to sign up for?

If not, I guess we could just post here a day or pm someone to organize it. Then those that would rather not sign up a specific day could do theirs as they please. Also, if we end up with a lot or no one on a certain day we could adjust accordingly.

Just throwing ideas out there to try to work with everyone.

26 was the number but that was with DisneyPoly....now they may be back and I know others want to join. It is hard bc the cut off was early. I think we should take a vote about letting others join. My opinion...the more the merrier. So my vote is to let others join but that might not work for those who have already ordered items.

I am on the fence w/this.... I know I have a few extra cabin gifts (special order) but will have to check the kids ones.

*As long as the newbies realize they may or may not get gifts since some people special ordered their gifts, I would have no problem having them join.*

I prefer to give mine sooner than later! Otherwise, I may just keep them myself. :lmao:

My vote is to let others join. However, given the fact that others are well on their way to being done with their FE gifts, perhaps a compromise is to limit it to 26 and then randomly distribute. Not sure how that would work but it's a thought.. :tink:

so i was like wow the thread jumped 10 pages today must have been a lot of conversation.... then i looked and seen that there were cabin assignments. excited to see some people got cat 9 upgrades i signed on but only got a cat 11. congrats to all you that got upgrades to cat 9, we will be sailing there next year for the eastbound transatlantic. however for this cruise we got a cat11 stateroom 6502. This is my 4th cruise in a year and the first time I have gotten upgraded even though its not a great upgrade. It really is a luck of the draw just disappointing knowing that people who have never cruised before have been upgraded to cat 9 with the porthole.

Our first cruise, we were upgraded from a cat 9 to a cat 6 on the Eastern in 2005. We found out at the port. It was a great upgrade, and a great way for DCL to get us to come back, although we didn't rebook on board. We had a cat 6 booked for this cruise - military rate was $4500, but the bargain cat 12's were too good to pass up! I don't regret my decision for a moment, and I'm happy with my assigned cat 12. I think upgrades are more the exception than the norm for repeat cruisers! (other than the cat 12 to 11's).
WOWWWW!!!! 4 cruises in 1 year!!!! Awesome!!!!

I am not sorry we got a good upgrade. I am saddened that not everyone did, feel horrible that anyone is upset over their assignment, and I know that you have spent a lot of $$ on cruises this year. I am sorry that you feel like you were overlooked. But that is no reason to single us out and try to make me feel guilty. I persoanlly think DCL is BRILLIANT for upgrading 1st timers. There is a much higher chance that we will book that Category or higher next time.

I agree with you. This has happened to us at the resorts. We were upgraded to conceige once. I would have never booked it before that. But I have since booked it twice. Once was for one night and the other time was for three nights. I still do not think I would do it for a whole week.

I can see how you would think that this is directed at you. I don't think she meant it that way. I think it is just hard to swallow. I was at the DMV with my mom when I got the first email saying that they got 2 CAT 9's side by side on deck 2....I got super excited. Maybe too excited. Then my morning was not going so well, I got home and checked the computer. I was BEYOND disappointed when I saw 10XX and then I looked and we did not even get windows. :confused3 I know it was a crap shoot but still hard to swallow. So MANY people got deck 9 and side by side. I am thrilled to pieces for you, especially getting connecting rooms. Connecting is something I did not want and I am thrilled that you got it! :thumbsup2 I think it is just hard to swallow. Maybe our expections or hopes were just higher then they should be. I don't think it was directed at you as much as DCL...why would they now upgrade me, some who had cruised before higher then someone who didn't??? I do however understand your point of sucking you in!!! LOL

So I don't think it was you. I am sure there are many others who are first time cruisers who got great upgrades too. I think it is just the principle of it all vs anything.

It is the same as if I would have stayed in 2 11's and I found out that you paid $1,500 less then me and got 2 9's. I understand how and why DCL does this CAT 12 thing but sometimes I wonder if it is fair????? If it was based on something, ie who booked first, etc...Then MAYBE I could understand. The fact that there is really no system to it is what bugs me. I was booked b4 Disney Fans friends and IMO they got a better room then me. Others may not agree bc we are in a 10 vs and 11 but decks seem to mean more to me then the room itself..again my opinion.

I think the fact that we spend so much time on these boards planning, etc shows how dedicated and committed to our vacation. I think when you get what you want or better you are on cloud 9...when you are disappointed then it is like a punch in the gut! That is how I felt all day! I however an getting SUPER excited about my CAT 10. It is the layout I want, a double steamer trunk in each and they both sleep 4. I am not thrilled about deck 1 but after a day of being disappointed I am now excited!!!

Ok, I have been out tonight shopping and now know what I am making for family for each cabin for the FE!! I can't wait for you all to see them, they are so so cute and very Disneyish!! Is that a word? Disneyish!:rotfl: Well it is now!!:lmao:

Works for me. :rotfl: So you are teasing us. Kinda like dangling a carrot in front of a horse. :rotfl2: Well time to shut down and head to bed.

I totally see your point, and as you can see by every post I've made today, I am extremely sorry that anyone here is disappointed by their assignments. But I am not going to lie and say I am not thrilled with our luck. I am going to enjoy it this time as I don't know if we will cruise again and with the extremely high prices of DCL, doubt we would be able to book an outside cabin.

I personally am very jealous of anyone that can cruise DCL numerous times or every year. With 3 kids and SUPER high medical bills for DS, this cruise is a once in a lifetime for us and the ONLY reason we are cruising is the super low Cat 12 prices.

I am happy for everyone with great upgrades.....I just wish it was me!!! :rotfl:

I can only imagine how hard it must be with 3 and medical bills. We are so blessed to have DH in the military. I never thought I would say that until I had a kid with special needs. They have been amazing and I there is no way we could afford half of her bills if we did not have the support of the military. So I deal with the multiple deployments and living apart knowing that my family is taken care of! :thumbsup2

Enjoy your CAT 9's! Everyone who got one! I am excited for all of you! :thumbsup2

:hug::hug::hug: to all!

I don't think the comment was specifically posted at you triplefigs(about you guys being first timers and being upgraded to connecting 9s). Being in the boat of those who got yucky assignments (due to the TA messing up our ressies as far as I am concerned) I feel other's pain.

I am now thinking that I really don't like this whole Cat 12 thing because, by definition, 50% of the folks "lost" in their minds when they got inside rooms. Everyone dreams and dreams big, but it's the random nature that is what bugs me. I woke up this morning thinking -- even before I step foot -- that I will never cruise DCL again because of the *pit of the stomach* feeling that this has given me. Believe me, I live in Orlando and know plenty of Cast Members who sail for ridiculously low rates ($199 for 3 nights or $399 for 7 nights) who get pretty much "best available cabin" (they may not know until port, but they almost always wind up in a verandah). I even told DD last week that she was going to see a part time job at WDW when she was old enough so that we could get CM rates (too bad Orlando is big and WDW is about 45+ minutes away!!!)

I do agree that the 2 cabins of friends who just booked last week and who woundup with 4 side by side cabins on Deck 6 made out FAR FAR better than Brooklynand I haven't seen a single cabin of 2 sailing alone get anything higher than a 11. (I guess DCL believes that parties of 2 do not need a split bath -- they must not have teen girls at home!)

That being said, I am going to try (Disney Affirmation needed again) to change my lousy attitude, which is being misdirected towards my TA, who probably thought she was trying to help. Just having a bad year so far -- no raises at work, no bonuses, last month I took a softball to the side of my face while at DD's practice (thrown by a 12 y.o. who weighs more than me!!!) and have a fractured (it's more pushed in/depressed for those medical folks) cheeckbone and conscussion and a broken pair of really good Ray Bans...), and lots of other cruddy things happen. I just wanted some pixie dust, ya know?

I showed DD the cabin  on the deck plan and she said "cool, I love inside rooms, I can sleep all day" and I thought, "ok, buck up and put on a smile." :thumbsup2

I think Disney makes a game out of cat 12 GTY; sell a room that only sleeps 3 to a family of 4 or 5... cuz they know there will be some winners & some losers. And the losers will try to upgrade at port! Thus spending more money. I wish we could ALL have the rooms that we want (a verandah/balcony upgrade would have been extremely nice ~ Walt, can you help me on this!) But in reality we are ALL winners.... :grouphug:

Even though it is opening things up-I hope we do NOT go there. Certainly they are in a hurry to get the economy rolling again. We have no idea how many unreported cases there are.

We will not get off there and are hoping for another stop instead.

Is there anyone here who has cruised with a motorized wheelchair-I have to rent something for my mom and she hated the manual last time because she was dependent on someone all the time. She is not very good at driving a scooter. Are the motorized wheelchairs any easier to manuever?

I don't feel like a loser because I got assigned to a cat 12. I got what I paid for. I feel like a winner because I only paid $2100 to cruise for the 3 of us! I'm also thrilled that we are paying $110 a night at the S&D. (thank you, Stephanie!!!) Will I be upset if someone gets the Epcot view, and I get the parking lot view? Heck no! Most of us are after the deal here. I'm still looking for those $49 flights from Orlando to Baltimore on June 23rd. (I got them for $69). I would book another cat 12 gty in a heartbeat. That is, as long as DH is not on the cruise. He wants the cat 1!:rotfl2: So we meet in the middle and get the cat 6.

I took DD and DS to get some more things for the cruise this weekend. DD found a cute 1 piece at Old Navy. She'll need that for the water parks if she goes on any of those fast slides! I've been looking with DS for nice trunks. He's lean and the men's section at most stores don't carry his size (XS) and the kids section trunks are not his style. Any suggestions? I've been to Target, American Eagle, Aeropostale, and Abercrombie. DD is going to help DS pack. She's already picked out her wardrobe for the whole week. We also got snorkel masks and tube thinggie for them. I figured we could rent the fins there. They are responsible for packing it in their suitcases. I don't miss those days when I had to do the packing for everyone! :rotfl:

I'm happy to just being able to go on this cruise and for all the wonderful friends I have made and get to talk to.

I'm looking very very forward to my dinner companions and getting to know each other more and building lifelong friendships.

I plan on being with my friends more than in my cabin, so it is really only a place to change and sleep. I was only aggravated and disappointed at my TA's mistake and I had to pay for it.

Being a single Mom I don't get to do vacations very often as a matter of fact this is the 1st vacation that Larry & I have even gone on alone and I was hoping for a little :tinker: pixiedust: to make it more special for Larry's bday and graduation and my bday.

Sorry if I brought anyone down yesterday..it is a great day today and we are only 39 days away from sailing away!!!!

Funny thing yesterday. The kids don’t know we are going on the cruise. My daughter and I were talking about her friends going on vacation in June. She said her girlfriend told her that June is the best time to take a vacation and the 13th is a lucky day so we should take a vacation on June 13th. It tickled me so much. So I said okay if you read nightly without me “reminding” you then we will go someplace on June 13th. I told her to pick wherever she wants to go. My son said Disney World. I said somewhere you have never been, so she says the Keys. This is going to be great. I now have my alibi when we wake up and are on the road on June 13th. And we really are going to the Keys. I was laughing so hard inside. They were like “Mom – are you serious, are we really going to go” Little DS still does not believe we are going. I am even more excited. :cheer2:

Hello everyone!! :wave2: I am sorry I am not more active on this thread! I just can't keep up!!! I try to skim through every day and see what you peeps are talkin about... :surfweb: my office filters out websites with discussion boards and even though I have a way to get through the filter, I am always afraid I am going to get in trouble!:headache:!! So anyway, that is my reason for not being more active here!!

I read the discussion yesterday (last night?) about the FE gifts.... it is fine with me if you assign me a day in order to space things out. Just let me know!

I know my DD13 (Megan) wants to get to know her fellow teen cruisers better (Kaitlyn, Larry and Megan that I know of!!!) but she has just been so involved in her school and activities lately she just hasn't had time to do much of anything else!! As school winds down and the cruise gets closer, I know she will jump on the board and talk to everyone!!! So don't forget about us!!! :goodvibes

Hey Diane (Larry's mom) I know we are directly 2 decks above you I think (we are in 7501) so it will be easy for us to find you!!! Can't wait to meet you guys!!! It is going to be a blast!!! How is the end of 8th grade going for Larry?? It is stressful right now for Megan! She has been quite out of sorts lately .... we will really need this vacation by the time it gets here!!!! :cool2:

I will try to post more soon!!! I want to get to know everyone!!!

Since I think we are the only 1st time cruisers who were upgraded to a porthole, I presume your comment was directed at me.

It's my second cruise and we also got the category 9. Seems a lot of us with 2 cabins were assigned to the 2nd level.

I don't think they have any rhyme or reason to assigning cabins. I'm a programmer, if they'd like I could probably come up with an alogrithm that would fill the ship weighing who paid the most, who signed up first, how many cruises they'd been on, along with the number of cabins, capacity, desirability of location etc.... lol.

But my guess is it's some poor smuck who just has a schematic of the boat and tries to fit people in based on room capacities and to the best of their ability keep people together with their travel companions.

I look at it this way. I paid for a 12. If I got a 12 I got what I paid for...anything better is just cake.

I try everyday I live to be thankful for what I have. It reminds me of a lesson I once learned years ago. I was in the Dairy Queen. My 3 kids were fighting, driving me nuts! I was having a pity party, what did I do to deserve this? Along raising my 3 rotten kids. Then I looked over to the next table and saw this woman. She was spoon feeding her son ice cream. He must have been about 10. He was in a wheel chair, unable to even control his body to feed himself. I felt like I'd been hit over the head with a 2 by 4. Then I thought about how stupid I was and how thankful I should be. That night I went home and thanked God for my maybe my not so rotten kids and my not so bad life. Whenever I want to have me a pity party I think back to that day.

I did not know the TAs had that info-I'll have to call.

We are in the Cabin NEXT TO Diane & Larry, 5505, so you can find Morgan & Larry in one easy spot

I saw XS in girls bathing suits at Hollister this past wkend, not sure about the boys, thou.

BethA.... I used to work at a medical supply company, in my experience, the motorized wheelchairs were harder to operate than the scooters.
thanks

now I have to decide whether to go with the scooter-and worry about her manuevering it and where to leave it or get a regular wheelchair and have her limited in not going anywhere herself-this is relatively new to us so I am confused--thanks for the info-I had thought the motorized might go right through the cabin doors, but they said nowhen I called today

That is a really sweet story. thanks for sharing that with me.

motorized wheelchairs are a bit bigger than regular ones, maybe that is why they won't fit through the door? Does your Mom need a wheelchair or just can't walk for long periods? There is this walker type thing that is avaliable that has a seat & a basket.. maybe that would be an option?

I wouldn't have minded the view of the garbage that would have been luxury. In my room at the pop, a cockroach ran down the wall and into the air conditioner vent. I kept telling myself, it's Florida, it's Florida, to them it's like an ant in the house.

Yes there were a couple Marines here in CA.

For now I am just sticking with the Deck 1. At this point I do not have any other options other then paying more then I originally was paying. I can't get any CAT 11's next to each or even near each other. Some CAT 10's opened on Deck 2 late last night. DCL is REFUSING to switch us to them. They were not even near each other but are still refusing.

A little background on my mom. She was burnt in a fire and is scared from her neck down. She has mobitlity issues. Her favorite place is the drink station on Deck 9 and just hanging out in the room. She loves dinner and she loves the shows. Aft elevators are VERY important to her. She can't walk that much on Deck 9 bc it is too slippery. That is my biggest complaint about deck 1...just that it does not connect to the aft elevators. She has to cross where there is carpet so it is just going to be very inconvient to her. DCL could care less.

I talked to a supervisor for 30 minutes today. I told her that rules are rules and I understand they "cant" move us. I told her that I was calling to express my frustrations with the CAT 12 process....not the assigning of the rooms, just the face that you can't do ANYTHING about what they give you. When booking online they do not tell you that you are booking a GTY and that you get what you get and there is NOTHING you can do about it. If I did not know any better, I could have logged on, saw a great rate on a CAT 12 which is on Deck 2 and booked it. I would have gotten the note that said GTY and we will assign you a cabin later. Then when I get the cabin what if there is a problem for some reason...SORRY NOTHING YOU CAN DO ABOUT IT. I know how the system works but what about people who don't. I told them that when hotels have really good deals they tell you... you have to pre pay, no cancelations, etc..... With the CAT unless you know the game DCL is playing then you can potentially be VERY unhappy. If you do not have the DIS Boards then how are you supposed to know????????? Just because you get a discount you turn into a 2nd class citizen. I am VERY happy with my 10. I actually prefer the set up of a 10 to ANY other CAT 4-12. I HATE walking into the bed and would much rather have the sitting area first. Would I love a window sure, but I also really LOVE the setup of the 10. We get double steamer trunks which only come in CAT 10's and 4's. They don't even come in the SPH 10's bc they were tech CAT 8's when the ship was built. We get the split bath which I am happy to have. The one thing I don't like about CAT11's is the orientation of the bed. You rock head to toe instead of side to side. It took some getting used to on the TA. The beds in the 10 are oriented so you rock side to side.

Ok, off my soap box and to answer your question we are staying on deck 1 and I am going to LOVE EVERY MINUTE OF IT! :lmao:

I read that early seating was 5:30,5:45 & 6:00.. our TA called Disney, they told her what we had.

YES please do not forget I also have Layne who is 14 and in the 8th grade.... He just doesn't know about the cruise yet. For those who have kiddos his age thought maybe you could share some info about him... He loves his computer of course but also plays the Saxophone and plays Soccer. His honor English class has him on Pins and needles right now and he gets easily discouraged with this particular teacher! I really hope all the teens can click with him and I hope I have not prevented him from forming bonds but the surprise is soooo much fun!

I don't think it is a matter of being grateful and now apparently my adult panties are getting in a bunch!

I have a DD with special needs, I have another daughter who was a victim of a crime, I have a husband who survived 29 months in Iraq (unlike his two best friends who did not make it home :sad1:), I have a mother you survived years of physical and metal abuse and living with the scars to prove it.

Again I think it is easy to say I would have been happy with "whatever" when you got WAY better then "whatever".

My DD's don't read the DIS boards. Did I tell them how disappointed I was NO, I told a group of adults. This is a surprise birthday cruise for them. I am NOT going to say surprise we are going on a cruise but mom is so disappointed we did not get better rooms! Come on, give me some more credit then that.

WOW Stephanie yikes! If this is towards me let me chime in that my comment was stated to the previous one about having healthy children and by healthy I mean functional considering My son has been battling immunity problems since birth and has had surgeries and coded FTT more than once.... Who hasn't had a hard life ... My sister died when I was six and she was four... My favorite Aunt died of Cancer at age 41 and My Mother and My Grandfather just passed away within a six month span!!! My Mother died at age 54 from an massive heart attack:sad1:
I have taken my children on Disney Cruises and NEVER have I had an upgrade to an outside stateroom until this time and I was not even referring to Cabin issues but only about the current state of our society and the stress that comes with it. My husband was stationed in Korea and missed our sons birth years ago and missed many special moments but I don't know why any of this is relevant to expressing my gratefulness for being able to soon be on vacation.:confused3

Just so you know I was not refering anything to the health of your children. I just feel like others are passing judgement on me bc I am disappointed. Of course there is so much in life to be thankful for but can't I also be disappointed about something else? That is all I was trying to say. Man you beat me to the 100:rotfl:

Stephanie I think you were thinking about the cabin stuff and I was talking more about stuff in general and especially about being thankful... Since losing my mom I have really taken notice of so many things and I would give anything in the world to just be able to pick up the phone and hear her voice one last time... This will be my first Mother's Day without her. I know lots of people in our group have dealt with many different issues so that is why I didn't understand why you listed things your family had experienced as a shout out. You definately are entitled to your opinion and my comments were just that ... my comments.
My Children are so good at picking up my vibes even if I don't even realize it and my oldest puts me back in check for example when my anxiety creeps into the dominant state:thumbsup2
I get disappointed as well over things all the time don't get me wrong...but I am letting you know that my attitude of being happy has nothing to do with my cabin assignment and that is just how I feel and I did not understand how it was made to seem that I am only able to be happy because I got an upgrade...
So I don't know what else to say....:flower3:

My mom's doctors can't seem to decide the cause of the severe pain in her legs since Christmas. As soon as she puts any pressure on them she is in awful pain and for my mom to say that means it is bad.

I'm not sure if she is strong enough to push herself around. Steph-maybe she can hang out with your mom near the drink station. The decks can be very slippery-yes- as my Wi Fit just told me-I am unbalanced.

I think we will just go with the chair because it collapses and she does not have to worry it is in the way in the hall when she has to get around the cleaning carts. She won't like to bother the room steward about where to park it and plug it in at night. I tried to convince my mom to get a handicapped room, so the scooter would go right in, but my dad ( even though we are pretty far aft) does not want to be at the very back of the ship. To me it is all the same. We have sailed in an aft cabin on RC and they hated it

Oh goodness! Hope you can figure something out! The companion chairs are lighter & easier to push, incase you never heard of those.

:rolleyes1

I am sure that Layne & Larry will bond!!! No worries!!!

What meds did they give your mom for her leg pain? Did she see a neurologist?

It seems to me that EVERYONE here has been thru a LOT, so this cruise will be a welcome break for us all. Cabin assignments, stress of day to day life, lay offs, swine flu, finances.... it's a lot for any of us to handle. So, I am sending EVERYONE a big hug and hoping that the days from now on are smooth sailing... especially smooth during our cruise! You are all a fabulous group of women, and I am very excited to meet you in 38 days.

Sounds great to me! :thumbsup2

Sorry I took it the wrong way!!! :flower3:

What meds did they give your mom for her leg pain? Did she see a neurologist?

There was alot of trouble with what she can take-she is on high BP med and insulin dependent-her kidney function is very poor, so a lot of the medications were contraindicated for her. Not sure what she is on now-they are always trying something new. The pain med offers a slight reduction in the pain but not much and not for long- she has seen quite a few specialists not sure about a neurologist-I have actually lost track, and my brother is a physician, so I imagine they are trying everything, but if you have a suggestion let me know.

We will go with the collapsable chair.

Donna and Morgan
Disney Fans Friends
Anyone else???
DisneyPoly....did you rebook???

I think we need to get a count of who wants to join and then everyone can decide if they have enough to add others.

My vote...add in the new people! :thumbsup2

As for assigning days...it seems as if there are so many who just want to do it "whenever" maybe we should just keep it at that. We had assigned once and not assigned another time. It always works out in the end.

I know Diane and I said that we are going it the 1st night. I also have a 2nd gift from my mom and girls that I will be giving another night and then the kids gifts another night. I think it will be more then spread out.

Hi, DISers! I just got off the Magic on Saturday. I bought a copy of the Port & Shopping Club book onboard and was wondering if anyone wanted my copy. It is full of coupons and freebies for all the ports you are stopping at. (I used the coupons on the Eastern cruise so all the Western stops are untouched.) For example, Cozumel has coupons for a free magnet, free shot glass, and antique map. Key West has free tanzanite earrings, free gemstone, and free magnet.

The book expires at the end of this year and I'm not going to cruise again so I'd like to pass it along to someone who will! PM me if you're interested.

The book has been claimed!

Today I got into an argument w/my mom cuz I told her I was planning another vacation already. My family goes no where!! No vacations, trips, nothing! Is my fault that I choose to go on vacation & they don't. It is not like I am asking them for money! One of my S-I-L wants to plan a family trip. My dad will pay for it but not go, my mom can't do anything in heat, kids ages range from 3-16 & my brothers have different ideas of the word vacation. ARGH!! So, I go myself! I know my vacation times are limited w/Jayde since she is getting older.

Denise ~ Jayde still has abdominal pain; not sure what the Dr will be able to do except more testing. Thanks for asking!

Kelly ~ Hope Daniel is ok! BTW how is Christian?

Stephanie ~ How is Madison doing?

I hope everyone's child(ren) are safe & healthy for our cruise!

I might be the only one off the ship if we hit Cozumel... I need to get my dessert Tequila, honey, & vanilla! I promise not to be long... Otherwise, I will have to bribe my gf to have her sister get me some (she lives in Cozumel).

Any decision on the FE's? I am going to start putting them together shortly & would like a final total.

Deb, have they looked at her kidneys at all or her ovaries? It kind of sounds like maybe kidney stones or maybe even endometrious.I've had both unfortunately.

Actually.... YES

I only got to talk to DH for about 5 minutes yesterday morning and then a few BB messanger messages around noon. He was doing training all night and I did not get to talk to him in full about all of this till this afternoon.

After ABA therapy, speech therapy and then swimming lessons for Maddy I picked up Brooklyn from school and we came home. Much to my surprise DH was here. It was so nice for us to sit down and talk.

We have both come to the conclusion that we are THRILLED with our upgrade that we received! He is so sweet, he said we will help your mom with whatever she needs. He said I do not care going up to Deck 9 and getting her drinks or food and bringing it back down.

We are both really excited to have CAT 10's. I wish one was not a connector bc it has this really bench in the ones that are not connectors. We got 1 connector and one not so worst case we will just give my mom and the girls the one with the bench.

Now everyone needs to promise me that they will still deliver gifts to Deck 1!

I had made a point this cruise that I was NOT going to use the elevators at all! My friend did it on the Trans Atlantic. For 14 nights she NEVER once used the elevator. Of course when I say I am going to do it we get deck 1!!!! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: Anyone want to join me in my boycott of the elevators?!?!?!??! Or am I just nuts???? :confused3 :lmao:

So I am in a GREAT place and counting down 36 days, 11 hours and 40 minutes until we land in ORLANDO!!!!! Thank goodness Craig came home today!!!

Stephanie

I usually do not use the elevators-trying to burn off some of the extra food. The hardest time is getting back on at port and climbing all those stairs-you won't have that facing you. Maybe you can bring on some drinks so if your mom just wants a quick drink and is in the room no one will have to go that far to get one. Have you tried all those little packets you just add to water-crystal light and kool ade have them.

I'm happy to say that this was the third day we used our new Wi Fit-however my weight did not budge-must have been the chocolate easter bunny I had with lunch--oh well-I'll try again tomorrow

do we know ho many are adding to FE?? yes I'm a nag-ask my husband

I guess everyon will be giving their cabin numbers so I can get my gifts-uncreative as they are-organized.

talk to everyone tomorrow

Awe...DH is so sweet surprising you! You have a great DH and relationship, I hope someday that I can find that too in someone.

I will try to do the NO Elevator's with you also. It's easier when you have someone else helping you achieve your goal and pushing you. I might not be able to do it if I end up wearing heels to dinner but I promise I will try.

I will come visit you for FE and other times too, I promise you will not be forgotten by me  and I'm sure no one else either.:grouphug:

Hi all,

Sorry we haven't been around to much, been busy with the kids High School and College graduations and work.

We got our room assignment (2608). Who do we send it to to get the FE list updated with the cabin numbers?

We are looking forward to meeting everyone and having a fun and relaxing cruise.

Ok, so stairs it is! (Actually, I usually try to do that on cruises. DD and I LOST weight on the Med cruise in November -- but we also walked MILES each day in the ports!)

Morning all.. I missed a bit last night, just got caught up. Hope everyone's kids will be ok! :)

As for the stairs, that is what we usually do. Quicker, most times, to take the stairs than elevators! We used to 'race' up each side, although we were younger than! Will have to see what happens this trip! :)

Hi Andrea,
I have a DD13, Morgan (who WAS going to be named Megan right up until the moment of birth at which point I sprung it on DEX that I preferred Morgan... and at that time he really couldn't object after seeing what I had just gone through :woohoo:)

We are in the Cabin NEXT TO Diane & Larry, 5505, so you can find Morgan & Larry in one easy spot

Have DD PM me her email and I will have DD reply

Donna

HI Donna!!
Sorry it's taken me so long to say hello!! That is so funny that Morgan was going to be Megan...I love the name Morgan too!!! I will pm you Megan's email address so Megan and Morgan can get acquainted!! Seems like there are so many 13/14 year olds in our group...they are going to have a blast!!! :cool1: Can't wait to meet you! :wave2:

YES please do not forget I also have Layne who is 14 and in the 8th grade.... He just doesn't know about the cruise yet. For those who have kiddos his age thought maybe you could share some info about him... He loves his computer of course but also plays the Saxophone and plays Soccer. His honor English class has him on Pins and needles right now and he gets easily discouraged with this particular teacher! I really hope all the teens can click with him and I hope I have not prevented him from forming bonds but the surprise is soooo much fun!
:rolleyes1

Hello there!! I think that is so cool that this is a surprise for Layne!!! I told Megan about him..she is also in band and plays trumpet! She is kind of struggling with the end of 8th grade...she is doing great but just has too much going on!!! So when will the surprise be revealed??? I can't wait to hear his reaction! I am getting more and more excited about this trip....it's getting closer!!!!! :yay::yay::yay::yay::yay::yay::yay::yay:

I feel that way too, and also my countdown clock is until the actual cruise, we are leaving in actually 35 days(on Wednesday evening or Thursday morning). That's really scary!!:scared1::scared1: W also just started looking for a house, and my last day at my old job is May 22, and the new one is May 26- so lots of transitioning with all of that!!

my son -turning 13 tomorrow-Brandon is very excited for the cruise. He has enjoyed getting to know Ben and Larry, but since Larry will be with the older teens I was wondering if there are any others who will be in Ocean Quest who want to get to know each other before the cruise. If so pm me and I can give you our email address. It seems like a great group of kids on here.

I still need to get at least one new dress and a new bathing suit, but am waiting hoping to lose a little weight first.

Wishing you lots of luck that you get to go! I see that you're in Bucks County. We lived in Doylestown for 5 years when DH was stationed at Willow Grove. We loved it there!

Please keep us on the list ... we just rebooked and we are again sailing with all of you to ... who knows where ... but we'll be there!

I am VERY grateful to everyone who contacted me with their TA info. I had tried for several days to rebook through DCL, but there were no Cat. 12's to be had. Needless to say I don't know where our rooms will be yet and even if they will be on the same deck, but we're just so happy to be sailing again.

It was a costly decision to cancel, but we happy to be going again. I can't wait to tell my kids when they get home from school.

Now ... I have to get working on my FE gifts ... I am way behind the 8 ball on this one.

Someone posted this on another thread about the new menus:

"Just want to say that we did the Galley Tour on the Magic last week and I asked our tour leader - Chef Rocco - about the new menus and he said that the Magic will have the new menus starting June 13th (for some reason I think he said the 14th - but that's a Sunday so he must have meant the 13th). I also noticed several pictures of the new dishes under signs posted "Coming Soon" on our way out of the kitchen at the end of the tour."

So I guess we'll be the guinea pigs!!:rotfl2:

Thank You! I think he is a great kid too but who doesn't think that about their own kid? He gets along with anyone but acts more like an adult than a kid. He tends to be a leader and communicates better with adults than anyone else.

my son -turning 13 tomorrow-Brandon is very excited for the cruise.

I think we have alot of jr high band members. DD Kaitlyn plays flute in 8th grade honors band. She has a pre district concert rehersal tonight at school and I am leaving in a few minutes to pick her up, then off to piano lessons. DS Ben plays drums in 6th grade concert band. We have spring concerts for both, plus Kaitlyn's piano recital this month, and Kaitlyn's band competitions this Sat. Ben has his next Sat. May is super busy for us music wise!

As far as FEs, I would be fine to add Morgey24 and DisneyFans friends. I don't think anyone else has mention an interest in participating. I would say definetly close it after that. There may be a few that could not accomodate the additions but it sounds like most would be ok.

Jayde had her follow-up appt (diff Dr same office); put her on Prilosec in AM & Zantac 150 in PM; CBC & Urine are all clear but she still has pain (check back in a month ~ next step CAT scan)... on top of that FLU like symptoms (cough, chills/hot flashes, etc) but not Swine!

After that, pre-HS senior mtg. Start saving for your child(ren) senior years now!!
