Just got back with my DW and three year old DD from a 5 night stay at Vero Beach. What a great time we had. The resort was everything we had hoped it would be. Constant activities for the little one, a great pool and slide, dynamite beach (albeit a little narrow) and just an overall relaxing atmosphere. We've already decided to go back next year. Only difference will be the addition of another little one. I recomend Vero highly.:D

I'm so glad to hear you had a great vacation!
I was wondering......did you fly into Orlando and drive down?
What kind of room did you have?
Did you eat at the resort?

Thanks for any info---we are going there 7/7-7/12.

Only difference will be the addition of another little one.

Is this like the "little souvenier" from the Disney Cruise Line commercial?

Congratulations on the baby and I'm glad to hear you enjoyed Vero. Yes, more detail....type of room, any dining suggestions, etc.

Pirate ship closes at 5 or 6 too. The lifegaurds do check the ship and I've seen them ask the older kids to leave, which is nice.

Slide closed around 6pm at which time the lifguards left for the day. Pool remained open through the night. We flew JetBlue to Orlando and drove rental car from there. Ride took about 80 minutes and was quite easy. Melbourne and Palm Beach are a little closer but airfares were higher to those airports. Jet blue cost me $420!!! for three round trips between Orlando and NYC.

We ate at both on-site restaraunts. Food was good but as with all Disney eateries the cost was high. There are plenty of local eating options and they have a book of local recomended places. Plus there is an array of chains (Pizza Hut, Pappa Johns, Outback etc.) nearby.
