Urgent prayer request....
Rachel has had two siezures in the past 24 hours. Tonight she could not tell us the year.
They took blood today at the dr and will hopefully know something tomorrow on her levels. Hoping this is a simple level correction. We have until thurs to cancel the room with no penalty. Pray that they can figure this out soon.

Thanks, All, for praying for Rachel. I know absolutely no more than you do. I just tried to call maroo to get the scooperoo, but she's not answering. I imagine she's either in bed or at the hospital?? If I get a hold of here yet tonight (I won't try too much longer though, as it's almost 10), I'll certainly let you know.

Too true!! When you live around here, you learn how to cook up your own kicks and giggles. No theater, no malls, no gyms or swimming pools....
Lots of board games, videos, and lights up noses....
The same daughter with lights in odd places also has other talents. She made me a really, really cool wreath out of some of our grapevine trimmings the other day. It turned out so cool!

It was a frightening occupation; one which I have no desire to repeat. It was leashes on necks, spikes everywhere, like some freakville carnival. What is WITH these kids?? Come DJ a school dance with me sometime. There are always a bunch of characters. I see some weird individuals. I really don't know how the parents let their kids walk out of the house looking like this.
The best is the school parties I do in the summer there are 1200-2400 kids there a day for a month and a half. Black & purple hair, black fingernails, lip rings, etc. I think they try to be different but they don't understand they aren't. I think they are just looking for attention.:confused3:confused3

Sorry for the total hijack last night. I didn't have internet last night and knew if I could get it on this TR that enough people would see it to pray for Rachel and her Mom.
Here is the deal...
This is very likely Rachel's last trip...maybe anywhere, but certainly to Disney. Her heart and lungs are not doing well at all. Her prognosis is very poor overall. She is also a "Do Not Intubate"...so if something happened and she got sick (even just the flu or pneumonia), she could die simply because they do not want to do any heroic measures to prolong her life. (Rachel made this decision because she does not want to live on a vent again.)
She has been doing extremely well over the past few months...so much so that I have gotten to know a "new" Rachel - she is happier and has more energy - and the hope is that she sort of turned a corner and really is doing much better overall and maybe the grim outlook they had for her is just not accurate. They even looked into her starting school again.
But the last two weeks have been hard on her. She is sick again, her heart and lung levels are continuing to decline. She is forgetful, tired and having siezures again. And last night she started to act like she did right before she went into the hospital this summer.
Her Mom REALLY wants her to have this trip. To go with her whole family. To have a really good time in Disney. This is basically her Wish Trip. (She never was granted a Wish - her family had the means to travel anywhere and they did not feel comfortable having her get a free trip, etc - but in hindsight really wish they had - since a Wish Trip is something you really can't buy with money - and you can always donate to the wish organization and grant many more wishes.)
Rachel went on a special trip for her 21st birthday, but she was sick at the time and starting her decline that landed her in the hospital. She doesn't even remember the trip.
Her Mom doesn't want to take her to Disney if she is going to be miserable and not even remember it.
She is calling the doctors today and hopefully they can get together and decide what the best course of action is. Hopefully this is something easy. Her last decline was due to her sodium levels...plain salt. All they had to do what correct her levels and she was back to "normal" - even better than normal - we got Rachel back! So hopefully this is something that easy. Hopefully they won't have to admit her in the hospital and can figure out what is wrong and correct it as an outpatient.
Our goal is to decide by tomorrow...since that is the last day to cancel the room reservation without losing a bunch of money.
Thanks for letting me hijack...and I will probably copy this over to my real pre-trip report...but I wanted you guys to know what was going on as well, since many of you guys don't really follow over there (which is totally cool).
that's nice

Maroo - We'll continue to keep Rachel in our prayers. And yes, that photo is creepy. As careful as Disney is to control the appearance of cast members when they are “on stage”, it makes the entire thing even more odd.
Loved the Christmas light photos. Back at a church convention in 2001, a youth pastor became famous for sticking a French fry up his nose, then using his lips to fling it across the table. This was followed up by sucking another fry from same nostril and swallowing it whole. I’ve matured since then. I mean, um….HE has matured since then I’m sure. If I knew him today that is.

Dad would NOT be voted out because he sits there with you watching the whole thing, and he makes up his own script. the new and modified lines go something like this- "Whilloughby! Why didn't you reply to my letters? Didn't you recieve them?" "oh, well you see, I only actually recieved one, and before I could reply, the aliens came down from space and took me away" He did this when he read the Hobbit aloud to us, and poor Bilbo visited the aliens more than once. I'm not joking, he really does do it.

Update:
Rachel is on her way to the hospital to get blood work. They hope to have a seizure medicine level today and may also check her sodium (but that was my request/suggestion, not the doctors) :confused3...
They also said that the rest of her bloodwork would be coming back on Friday...so they should know even more by then.
So...we are in holding. I assume...if her level is off...that she can just raise her medicine and we would not have to cancel and we would have a reason for the seizures? But if the level is fine - that would be more worrisome.

And they are friends with each other, too...which is fun. We have a BLAST when we are out doing stuff...two powerchairs and me. It is a wonder I don't get run over. :)
oh, okay. sorry...i'm great with faces but not names. i didn't know that rachel was in a power wheelchair, only that she was your friend. and i knew i met someone else with you at rainforest, but couldn't remember her name. i hope rachel's tests come back to show it's something that you guys can control so that she can still go on your trip! :goodvibes

It was the tragic results of a Disney DNA experiment- crossing Doris Day and Tink. Obviously they had some minor issues. The FDA is reviewing.
Edited to say, that that was played by Debbie Reynolds- thanks Bekka, the only teenager in possibly the entire world to know that.

While you’re nibbling the last remains of your popcorn, pull up a chair, and enjoy “A Newbie’s First Dunking in DTD”. Family piled in car, happily full of free dinner, we set off to Lands Yet To Be Discovered. Folks, let me just be brutally up front with you now; this is the point in my narrative where, although good intentions abound, good memories begin to altogether falter. Things grow dim. Down, down, down I fall- just follow the light….Ahem... sorry. As I was saying, things grow fuzzy from here on out. If things seem like you, too, might be falling into a tunnel wearing a little blue dress, be assured this story does have a happy ending, even if the telling is curious-er and curious-er.
After about 4 million toll booths, and frantic searching for “exact change”, we made it to said destination. At this point, I was more concerned with opening the borrowed stroller (thank God! thank God! Those days are over!)than with what pleasures awaited us. Seriously? ! Why do they design strollers only God can put together??
Successful at last with assembling the small piece of hell, we sauntered into Nirvana. It must surely have been the Westside, because here it comes- my most vivid memory of the entire trip: the Wicked Witch from Snow White, in full life-sized coolness, stirring a fogging pot in a store front. How rad (to steal a word from the 80s) to see something like that?!! My only guess is that it was the Candy Cauldron. In order to be one with this classic piece of Disney amazingness, I went in and procured myself a treat of magnificence; a ginormous caramel apple. I felt a deep need to test and conquer the witch by getting the one item she might have tampered with. As I am still here today to tell this tale, you can be assured I won that day. My apple was delicious.
After some sticky delight, we moved on. By this time it was night time and the lights over the lake, the decorations, the ambiance in general, was in one word-mesmerizing!! It energized my soul and cemented forever my longing to be there many more times in the future. From the Westside, somehow, we made our way over to the Marketplace. I don’t know how, and frankly can’t piece it together, but somehow without going through Pleasure Island we wound up in front of the next most amazing sight I saw that night- the Lego creations!! This time, not only was I, but everyone in our merry little party, thunderstruck. The kids oohed and aahed, and the grandparents couldn’t take enough pictures. Where those pictures are is a complete mystery- probably in a box buried deep in the garage only to be found in the next century by my great-grandchildren. Sorry, random thought wanderings… I think the sea dragon sculpture was the most impressive, but the cute little Lego ducks floating in the water were pretty nifty too. How could anyone not be impressed by this creativity?
I can’t remember too much more about Downtown Disney, but my overall impression was that somehow, someday, I wanted to come back. It also taught me a general rule about touring Disney: There’s always something more to explore. Leaving that night, I remember thinking to myself, “I know there’s a lot more to this place- I need to see more of it.” It would be 8 long years before I would get back there, and the same still holds true even now. There’s yet even more to be explored, but that’s for the TC3 to do in 2010!
Next up: Arriving at the Fort; What sort of mischief could we possibly get into here?

Even with two trips as a kid, we never made it to DTD for some reason, I suspect my grandmother didn't know it existed. Piper's going to love the lego stuff..if anyone should wander by sometime in March (I'm hoping) and see two women and a lil girl staring in awe at them, it will probably be us!

It should have been in yesterday...but the nurse called as the clinic was closing and they did not have it.
She should have it back today.
Since they know the seizure meds are off...I think they think that is what it is. Honestly, I basically "ordered" the sodium levels - so I don't guess they think it is a priority to get them back. I just wanted to rule out two things at once...
I don't really buy into the "let's check the seizure levels...and if those are good THEN we will check the sodium" - especially the week before DISNEY! I think we should fix it all quick.
And her confusion was a lot like it was when she had the sodium issues. :confused3

I wish I had childhood memories of Disney but I don't. My WDW memories start in 2008 with my own daughter. My parents never thought Disney was a good idea. There would be no way by parents would fly us anywhere or stay in an hotel. :sad2:

I resent them all THE PLANNER (read that in a deep voice)... and it is the "rest" version.
We are taking a whole day on Friday to rest and sleeping in many mornings. She normally stays up late and sleeps quite late - and we will be an hour ahead - so sleeping in will be key, I think. She normally sleeps about 10 hours.
Of course, we miss rope drop - nearly every day - but I am praying that they will provide her a GAC that will allow her to rest and still be able to ride things like Soarin' and Toy Story even if the Fast Passes are all gone. Otherwise, she may be skipping some of those - as it is not really possible for her to wait over an hour for a ride without resting and taking care of medical junk.
You guys can pray for warm weather. One forecast has it getting down in the LOW 40's (wind chill in the 30's) and Rachel will just freeze. :sad2: But one forecast has lows in the 50's...which sounds much better. ::yes::

but you know what, as many "educational ones" they go on, the topic of most dinner conversations is still reminiscing over our WDW trip last spring. We camp, we do museums, "hysterical" sites, but WDW trips still trump everything for "Most Memorable"!

Here I am - hijacking again - and begging you guys to pray for us.
Rachel is now sick - sick sick. 101F and coughing up all kinds of junk. (sorry, that is gross!)
Anyway...she is ALREADY on pretty strong antibiotics, so her lung dr is quite concerned and at one point today said she should not go. He didn't say she "couldn't" go...that she shouldn't go. Rachel's Mom talked to him again - after talking to Rachel. Rachel says she doesn't really "feel" bad - which is the same thing my bronchitis has been doing to me...I really have not felt bad, just coughing and running fever.
Anyway...he said she CAN go. But severely cautioned us...to not overdo it.
I am asking you guys...to please...pray for Rachel. That she would feel GREAT on this trip. Joyce and Rachel both are prepared even for a hospital stay when she gets back - but she wants to go to Disney and she wants to see her friends at the MPS conference (several of the other children with MPS are going this year!!) and doesn't want to wait. She says she wants to LIVE as long as she is living. "To stay at home my room is not living"...and we agree.
So...
WE ARE GOING!!!!!!!!!!
But please pray for us! Please pray for safe travels. For Rachel and for us - that we would make wise decisions about what to skip and what to make sure we catch.
Thank you all so much for praying for her!! She has been through a lot - and you guys that have been around a while know that...I want her to have a wonderful trip with her family.
I HAVE to add this picture...
She is hanging in her hoyer lift with a towel on her head...looking pitifully sick. She thought the picture was so funny she posted it on her Facebook page! She cracks me up.

I will definitely pack warm! I already shipped a box of my warm jacket, gloves, scarfs, long underwear, sweat shirts...etc...so that I can still pack light and be warm at the same time! And the rest of us are basically prepared to stand out in 30 degree weather...so hopefully we will be pleasantly surprised that it is so "warm" outside when it is 50.
The national treasury has no cash!! That is HILARIOUS!
At least we have the Nobel Peace Prize. ;)

Good Morning Everyone!!
Only some of you would know how VERY, VERY, ultra glad I am to be "here" this morning!!
I stewed and fretted all night long literally, and lost massive amounts of sleep over a lot of "stuff".
One of those items was my water- YES, AGAIN.... this time the whole city is off, not just our neighborhood. We have a 1,000 liter cistern dug in the yard, that we can pump water into the house from. But the one day in 3 months we need it, the line was frozen. That means no water AT ALL unless we carry it in buckets to the house. It took me 3 hours to do all the dishes from 2 days and 5 loads of heating water on the stove. Everytime something like this happens, I am reminded once again of why we're here- bringing running water (and in most cases giving water - period) to the most undeveloped of the villages around us. Now, go get a big drink of water, and thank God for it!!!
Now, I've written up my next chapter of, what Biscuit calls, the Retro-Report, but need to get it typed. I promise I'll get it up after I get caught up on everyone's reports. Jordan, that may take me hours...
Thanks to those who sent me PMs. I've already responded...
Loving you all- more than you'll ever know!!!

Always glad you're here, Liesa. Growing up we lived in BFE, and had water lines freeze up, so I know what a pain it is. I can't imagine living that way all the time like some of the folks you're there to help do..your family is doing such good things, we need more people like you guys!

The week ended; we were free! Free at last!! It was time for some fun, starting out at Disney’s Fort Wilderness.
After packing up and saying our good-byes to our newly made lifelong friends and colleagues, we pointed our covered wagon toward Western horizons- metaphorically speaking. It wasn’t long before we lumbered our way alongside the guest check-in windows, and I distinctly remember Dad mumbling soft, yet explosive expletives- something about the side clearances of the western-themed lanes and his rig’s paintjob. I can’t completely rule out the possibility that there was contact between it and said siding. There would be more of this un-Disneylike behavior as he tried to back the 43 ft. behemoth into a spot the size of a piece of TP you would get at the pay bathroom s in here in Blank-A-Stan.
Finally, around 2:00, we were parked (insert many more expletives pouring forth from an otherwise pretty even tempered, albeit fart producing, anesthesiologist) and ready to roam. This was the one and only day DH would be with us. But that’s ok. To this day, he despises anything Disney, and I knew we’d have a better vacation without him anyways. 10 years after this, I am more sure of this than ever.
So, what to do?? So many choices! We did what any clueless newbies would do, and consulted the Weekly edition of the Ft. Times. It was packed full of fun stuff to see and do, but we procured a unanimous decision to “hike” along the “Old Swamp Trail”. We thought it sounded both relaxing and interesting at the same time. I, for one, was fascinated with the stringy Spanish moss, prolific palmettos, Cypress trees, and the possibility of seeing snakes and alligators.
This was the coolest little hiking trail! Much of it was lined with wooden planking, so it really was an easy jaunt from end to end. We saw lots of Cypress and Palmettos, and massive amounts of moss, but sadly no snakes or alligators. Florida would prove to be a major disappointment in that department. The walk was indeed relaxing, and took about an hour to trek with the 4 kids. Alas, Disney took this cool little attraction out, citing “problematic and expensive upkeep”. Isn’t that always the story?? I really missed this last year during out stay at the Fort.
After our walk, we made our way over to the Pioneer Hall area to pay a visit to Minnie Moo. Say WHAT?!! You don’t know who Minnie Moo was?! She was the gentle doe-eyed cow who was lucky enough to call the Fort Wilderness Petting Zoo home no less! Minnie had many interesting and exotic friends sharing her residence. There were several goats, ponies to give rides to the little cowboys and cowgirls (we didn’t cave though, ‘cuz remember “we were poor tightwads”), sweet little bunnies, and best of all, an albino peacock! Indeedy do!- A peacock whose tweaked DNA structure allowed him to be gorgeous beyond belief. Sadly, this too has been axed, but this time the lame excuse was “germ risk”. Puh-leeeeeze, people! Do they really think we’re going to buy this one?! Ummmm… people farm all over the world- everyday. Animals aren’t “dangerous”; least of all at Disney, where perhaps the best animal care on the entire planet is happening. (Rant over.) The Goober Family hung out there until the chuck wagon bell rang, and still with the evening yet so young, we had more to explore. Until next time, so long Pahdnuh.

Fort Wilderness does sound like fun with the hiking trails and such, it's too bad they did away with them. If Piper and I were ever going to go to the World by ourselves, we would probably camp! We both love camping, the only hitch is that I always have to get a site with an electric hook-up so we can hook up her vest and nebs! I always have to wonder what people are thinking first thing in the am when they walk by our site and see her wiggling, jiggling, and vibrating at the picnic table!

Yup! 100% despiser. Lots of stated reasons, the biggest being that he says it's too commercial. Like one big advertisement. To a point I do agree. But the other big reason is that he'd rather be secluded on a mountain, in a forest or under the water in a "natural environ". Whatever, Babe.

I've heard the cabin are really nice. But that is the one complaint. Although, none of the other mods have more than one bathroom either. Hey Rebecca!
Feel free to check out my TR to see how 6 fit in a cabin....complete with Cabin pics!
How EMH saved our trip
(http://disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2100536)
REALLY depends on the makeup of the 6
It is the best option and value, IMHO, without going deluxe for a family of 6. You could do 2 rooms at a value I think for about the same but no kitchen, no deck. For us it worked. Of course it worked b/c it was a buy 4 get 3 but hey...whatever works!
If you are not a camper or into the outdoors and some in your party are "hotel/resort" type folks, it is not the place. If you like to camp and love the outdoors...it is perfect. Especially perfect if you need to let lazy teens sleep in and not feel trapped in a small room!

I still have about 5 chapters to go. But it takes about an hour to write each one, then I do them on Word (I've lost WAYYY too many posts with misplaced finger strokes), then post. Getting one out every 3 days or so, is all I can muster. But I could start up the game again, to fill in. ADRs aren't until March, so I'll have to find something to do until then. I have some ideas, but I could hold off on the game until Jan. - which isn't that far away now. I can't believe how fast the months are flying by.

LeeAnn is too cute. She reminds me of Courtney (my friend who I'm taking for her birthday). Everytime I start talking to my other friend, she starts fussing, "Enough with the abbreviations already!"

Your Christmas quilt is beautiful, Liesa! Do you hand sew the appliques or use your machine?
I can't believe your student's quilt..she did a marvelous job, especially for someone just learning!! She must have had a great teacher.. ;)

Liesa, what a beautiful quilt!
And that's too funny about LeeAnn. I love it! :lmao:
Thanks! I love my hobby! and hope to someday turn it into more than that. ;)
I'll have to tell her I poked fun at her today!

It's really just a bunch of straight stitches- anyone can do that!! The fun part is really playing with the colors and patterns. The actual sewing part is easy!
I've read all about Courtney. They are a lot alike- "Just plan it, I'm game for anything I'll just follow, etc..." I know we're going to have a great time, and honestly it's easier to plan this way- maroo and I tour much the same way, so it'll be great!

A mixture of both. THis one was machine appliqued with a blanket stitch. I've shown you others that were totally hand done. I like both.
Hers was one of the better ones. One older lady's turned out really bad- because she was in a hurry. You CAN"T hurry with this craft--- AT ALL!
I think there are many others who are WAY more Disney smart than me. But I do think we have a great trip planned out.

I'm not selling this one. I want to sell the one I showed you last time, but I don't have enough fabric for the border. I tried to have my mom send something, but it was all wrong. So I ordered some stuff off the net, and should get it within a few weeks. I hope. I hope I can get about $350 for it. It's only twin-sized, and will be tied instead of quilted, but if folks understand it's half for charity then I might get that. But, I"M NOT SELLING IT HERE!!!!! Let me make that clear right now!! I'm going to offer it to family first. Then church people--- then we'll see.
Maybe I should have sent the spread sheet with a code key. :confused3

I should have another update up either tomorrow or Thursday. Until then, have a great day everyone!!

Ok, here's the scoop on the puppies...
Daisy had puppies yesterday around 2:00. She's completely holed up in her dog house, and snarls if we try to go near her. So we don't. I think she might have around 6 or 7?? But we can't be sure.
She is lucky. The temperature was a balmy 32 yesterday and today, so they have a better chance. If she had had them 4 days ago, it would have been really hard on them.
As soon as she will let us near her (last time that was about 3 days after the birth) I will get pix, and post them.
Now, Cherie----
You wanted the scoop on the girlfriend...
I don't know much about her- yet.
I know she just scored 99% on her PSAT. So, if they get married, I will have genious grandkids. :lmao:
She likes to read, and write. Her parents are authors and anthropologists, and have done extensive research on the culture and people here. She likes to do goofy stuff and is into drama as well. Her family skiis and snowboards in the mountains here, and she wants some quilting lessons when she visits in a couple weeks (ummm..... girlie, you just scored some big points).
Other than that, her mom says she very shy, although, she's been the pursuer, which I'm not super thrilled with. I"d like to have seen my son be the leader/pursuer. But, then again, he's painfully shy also. I LOVE the fact that she can get him to talk and is pulling him out of his shell.
They (she and her mom) arrive in Jan. 3, the day before his birthday. She wanted it that way so that she could make his cake. His birthday is on the 4th. Ummm....OK, that's kinda weird. Whatever.
Is that enough?

RATIONS DROP! RATIONS DROP! RATIONS DROP!
ok, we'll start that up soon- maybe even tomorrow.
But first, I had to share these!
I finally am VERY close to finishing the top of my Christmas-y quilt, and wanted to give you a peeky!
Only the last (TOP) border needs to be added, then I'll give it a quckie tie job, and it'll be ready for my important guests, arriving on the 3rd (my son's girlfriend and mother )

Lastly, I had the funniest e-mail today!!! Remember LeeAnn (aka ThePreachersWife- who NEVER gets on here anymore?) Well, I sent her a copy of our latest, most greatest spreadsheet of our itinerary with parks, times, hoped-for ADRs, EMHs, all that good stuff, and here was her reply...
Liesa:
Honestly anything is fine with me....but I don't even understand the chart....I was laughing at all the abbreviations. I can read the most complicated 300 million dollar spreadsheet from the schoold district but I don't understand our trip itinerary?!?!?! You are way too disney smart for me:)
LeeAnn
Isn't that a hoot??!!
I know she's going to love it, but bringing her along the planning ride just ain't happenin'.
Your quilt is beautiful! And your student's is none too shabby either!
:rotfl: on the spreadsheet. My MIL would glaze over if I sent her mine. Although she'd appreciate the binder pages. She'll have input but it will not be of the excel variety.

Yeah, 7:30 means seriously losing! My kids know better...
He'll be 19 in Jan. He's graduating a year late because he lost a year (academically) because i put him in national school. He learned great Blank-A-Stan-ish, but didn't learn squat else.
Actually, he learned TO SQUAT, cuz that's what the boys do here. Squat. On sidewalks, in front of stores. THey like to watch their mothers and grandmothers sweep the sidewalks, and slave away in other areas. It's sick.
Maybe pushing it, but you never know... my sister met her and married her high school sweetheart. When they met she was 15. They married at 23.
I hate making birthday cakes now. burned myself out on that early on with trains, kits, hats- you name it. Now they're lucky if they get plain cupcakes. I suck in this dept.
Puppies and girlfriends, those just don't belong in the same post, do they>?

Not when you want her to.
Well, they do THAT too. But usually on the highway, beside the busses. Or in the elevators in the big city, after consuming far too much vodka.
I will. On top of evaluating her culinary abilities, maybe I should put her through a Myers Briggs, and a psych. eval too. :lmao: I could serve her sheep head, and see what she does with that. Does she have grace and charm to wiggle her way out of that one??

Well, my dog is a total floozy!! I caught her red handed with more than one ummm... sire. I wish the neighbors would put up a higher/better fence!!
So, they might be cute. Maybe not?? Just don't know yet. They are a pain in the patootie! In about what 3 weeks, we'll have to start the whole soaking/mixing dry dog food to feed them, and well, I guess frozen chunks of poo is a little easier to scoop than melty summer stuff.
I'm sure they will offer to help out. I'm not worried about that. Ok, here's an idea. I have 5 days with them. YOu guys can all tell me what to cook for lunches and dinners, and I'll see if I can make it. Rules: NO processed ingredients, must be easy, can be crock potted if necessary.
They won't be ready to leave when they come. Since it's winter we'll keep them a while extra to give them a better chance. Most dogs have a life span of about 1 year here. Either they are eaten (that would be the Koreans), starved, or frozen.
Now I can sleep...;)

Dogs just don't come in houses here. THey are dirty, and for the most part, pretty vicious!! You'd NEVER go near a dog, or even near their chain! My daughter has a nice scar on her leg from a dog that got off its chain.
You're right I should be careful about that. Maybe there's more to his part than I know about it. My info is all 2nd hand from her mom and his housemom. Maybe he has them all hoodwinked.
I had that class "happen" to me too, but it wasn't anthro, it was human geography. Dropped it like a hot potato; it just wasn't I thought it was AT ALL. Same with me. Probably could have squeaked a C, but had a tough schedule in general, so it was punted.

I have to tell ya..I love me some crockpot food..my poor crockpot would probably walkout on me if it could. How about barbecue (speaking of eating dogs.. :rotfl:) but NOT out of dog meat, lmao..sorry..cracking myself up here. Anyway.. beef or pork bbq always sounds good to me. We also love pot roast from it, stews..soups. I'm a pretty simple kind of cook.

You're right I should be careful about that. Maybe there's more to his part than I know about it. My info is all 2nd hand from her mom and his housemom. Maybe he has them all hoodwinked.
oh, i didn't mean that he was fooling anybody. you know your son better than most people i'm sure! i just remember when i was 15 i was dating a guy whose parents thought i was pursuing him moreso than he was pursuing me because he played it to them that way and they never really liked me because of it. but not saying that that's what's going on with him at all. ;)

It's time for RATIONS DROP!! So fasten your trivia seatbelts and let's play.
(For those of you who are new to this, it's a trivia game we've been playing. You struggle with the clue, and I provide the answer to this WDW Eating Establishment. It can be CS or TS, and anywhere on property, which narrows it down quite a bit, I know. Here's the original post with all the explanations, backstory, rules, etc...)
HERE (http://www.disboards.com/showpost.php?p=33773090&postcount=976)
Gentlepeeps!! START YOUR ENGINES!!
Here you'll find a reference to the Flying Dutchman- which might be the very same ship that was captained by a man of whose portrait is "across the way". But watch carefuly, he comes and goes. And while you're at this eatery, drop anchor and fish awhile!!
And they're off!

Anyway, I just got off the phone with maroo; here's an update so far:
They arrived a bit behind schedule, but otherwise had a good drive. They checked into AKL and ARE LOVING IT!! She said that as she was talking to me, there was a giraffe about 30 feet away!! Is that cool or what??!!
The Candlelight Processional was fabulous! They loved it. I can't remember who the narrator was- sorry!! They rode Soarin', which is her fave.
They went to AK today- she described today as "BEST DISNEY DAY EVER!!". After AK they hopped to MK to watch Spectro and Wishes. Her highlight of the whole day she says was walking into MK 20 minutes before the beginning of the parade and getting front row seats. She is totally bummed though that all the parks closed at 8:00 tonight.
She asks us to hope for no rain, and to pray that Rachel will keep doing well. So far she's doing great (no fevers)! but there's another Wish Trippers surprise thing she's working on, and it's not really coming together very well ; still a lot of loose ends it sounds like. So she's asking us to intervene there too.
That's all she said. When I talk to her tonight (my time) I'll let you know more.

No, it's because they are dogs, not younger siblings.

Here's my guess (in white) -
Columbia Harbour House
And as for dropping college classes, I did that one time only, as well. It was a P.E. class - canoeing, believe it or not. Sounded like fun, and an easy A.
First day of class met in the pool, where everyone sat around the edges and watched as one at a time, we had to swim out to the canoe floating in the middle of the pool, and hoist ourselves into the thing from the water.
I tried and tried and tried, but I just did not have the upper body strength to pull myself into that stupid canoe. I was so humiliated, after about 15 minutes I gave up, swam to the edge of the pool, got out, went to the locker room and got dressed, and walked directly to the Drop and Add office to get out of the class.
I ended up taking Bowling instead, which was much more my speed! :rotfl:

Here’s take 2, done on Word. ( I’m getting smarter…)I lost 30 minutes of work, only to push submit and be told, "Boards down for maintenance". I push back, it's a no go, hence I spend 30 more minutes doing is this way.
The votes are in, they are tallied,
The missing troops, they have been rallied.
Don’t fret if you didn’t get it this time,
The next one will be done in rhyme.
Your guesses were very good this time! I really thought I handed out a tough clue, but apparently, we’ve got some really big Disney Smarty-Pantses among us! The answer was Columbia Harbor House, which most of you got. Congratulations to:
Jordan, Shannn, punkin413, eandesmom, reelmom, that’snice, LiteBrite, Tinkgurl, GreatBiscuit, and probably someone I forgot to type. If that’s you, let me know.
I dug out my Hidden Magic of Walt Disney World and re-read what it says about my favorite place to eat in MK. You’ll find out why it’s my favorite place in the next installment of the Retro Report very soon. Here’s what the book says: On the wall opposite of the one with the National Geographic map it spells out the name of the room; the Flying Dutchman room. In fact, all the rooms in this CS place are named after ghost ships- those that lost their fights with Davey Jones. That map (in the shape of a hidden Mickey), by the way is a map of sunken ships! Is it a coincidence that the Haunted Mansion is “across the way”? If you look at the beams above where you order, you’ll see a spear. This is the same spear that the Captain is holding in his portrait that you see just after the stretch room in HM.
Here's the menu from Allears, for those of you who are curious! My faves are the tuna sandwich (gotta luv zzuB!), and the clam chowder. They took away the bread bowl, which I"m peeved about, but change seems to be the norm these days at WDW.
Lighthouse Sandwich - hummus with tomato & broccoli slaw $8.09
Anchors Aweigh Sandwich - white tuna with lettuce and tomato on toasted multigrain bun $8.09
Chicken Breast Nuggets and Fish - Served with French Fries or Apple Slices $8.19
Fried Fish Basket - Served with choice of either French Fries or Apple Slices $7.09
Fried Shrimp Basket - Served with Coleslaw and French Fries $9.69
8 Chicken Breast Nuggets - Served with French Fries or Apple Slices $7.69
Garden Harvest Salad - mixed greens, chicken, garden vegetables, cheese and sunflower seeds $8.19
BLT Salad - Mixed greens with crispy chicken, bacon, egg, and tomato $7.69
Bowl of Vegetarian Chili $4.49
Bowl of New England Clam Chowder $4.49
French Fries $2.49
Coleslaw $2.39
Strawberry Yogurt $1.99
Chocolate Cake $3.59
Apple Crisp $3.59
By the way, I”ve decided to just start over with points. Cynthia and Shannn, PM with your address, and I”ll send you nice little prizey-poo. Not poo, a prizey-poo. This way, we can have more chances at prizey-poos because that’s more fun! Jordan, you and Pollito916 were only a half point off- I hope this round treats you better!
Next clue coming up soon!

That's a pretty funny story!! You poor thing! I remember being totally humiliated in class once at UCI. I started sorta daydreaming, and then kinda, but not really, out of the blue, raised my hand and asked a ?? that was kind OT, and he rebuked me right there in front of God and everyone. I was so embarrassed, I remember hunkering down in my seat and just wanting to cry!! It was awful. Ah well, live and learn!

When we chatted they were just leaving from the MVMCP at MK. The rain had held out all evening and the temps were in the 60s. They were very thankful for that! Just as they got to the bus stop it started pouring!!! She was sooooooooo thankful!!
They had an amazing evening, but I"ll let her tell you about that! You won't want to miss it- I PROMISE (you know maroo!) She says she has 1,000 pix!

awwww....puppies!!! i miss my doggies as puppies. i don't, however, miss house breaking and teeth marks on everything in my house.
cool about the girlfriend! i once dated a guy who made his parents think i was the pursuer when really he was. they didn't like me because of it. not saying your son is doing that but it just made me think of it when you said she was the pursuer. ;)
her parents must be smart....i took anthopology in college as an "easy" class.....yeah, right! i ended up dropping it because it was harder than i thought. it's the only class i've ever dropped in my life. i could have managed but i had a really hard schedule that semester and that class was supposed to be the no-brainer. boy, did i get that one wrong!
DId I ever answer this?? I'm not sure I did, and I felt bad I was cut off the other day while posting in the middle of yours...
Oh yes! About pursuer vs. pursued. I remember now. Actually, I think it's turning out to be an equal sort of pursuit, it's just that she's more vocal than him- isn't it always that way with men vs. women. (well, most of the time)
I really like her so far. But, more importantly, my DS really likes her.
Puppies are doing well, we think. We coaxed Mommy out of the house today, so we could put more rice chaff in there for their bedding. They are so, sooo small!

Thanks! I will check out your TR. I actually AM the camping type - I love it. Its my mom who isn't. Growing up, all our vacations were camping trips - which for her meant lots of work while my dad fished. Us kids had fun, though!
