i joined ww 2 weeks ago and am going for my 2nd weigh in tonight
first week went pretty well and i lost 3.5lbs :) tonight i am hoping for another loss but getting through the entire day is oh so hard when you have a night time class
i have had a sneeky peek on my scales and it's looking positive but i know that can change throughout the day
in total i'd really like to lose about 2 -2 1/2 stone so i am realistic enough to know it's going to take some time
do you think 5-6lbs target a month is sensible? as that's what i was thinking off settting myself mini targets

Thanks guys, I felt proud that I'd done so well and that my dad noticed and was really pleased about it. I've got about another 2 and a half stone to go and I am going to get there and more importantly - stay there
Good luck to every one this month, if any of you are struggling at the moment, don't focus on what happened last month, or last week. It's a new month and you can do it.
Well Done Jakki 'slimmer of the month' :cool1:

Just quickly calculated I have 7 weeks until my birthday when I want to be at my target weight so time to get serious!!! http://bestsmileys.com/exercising/5.gif
I so wish I'd worked that out before I had a MacDonalds brekkie and about a gallon of fruity Pimms but hey, it's a bank holiday!!! ;)

Welcome :flower2:
You'll be made very welcome here on the DIS diet thread ::yes::
Many who contribute are dieting with WW so you'll get help and support that follows along with the WW program:thumbsup2
I personally think it's a great idea to set mini targets for yourself, but always having the bigger picture at the back of your mind. 5-6lbs a month is a really sensible target:thumbsup2
Good luck with your second weigh-in:)

You've done so well Jakki - congratulations:cheer2:
I have just weighed and I have lost 2lb - very happy with that:banana: Even though I had my six week diet break;) I have now lost a stone since Jan:cool1:
Another six pounds before DLRP in three weeks would be great.

Hi Guys
Well it's taken 1 year and 1 month, but I'm back. I lost 4.5 stone last year before my holiday to the world in April 2008. Since I've been back I've managed to put 1 stone and 4lbs back on so starting tomorrow I'm back on my diet as enough is enough. Over the weekend I visited Endsleigh Garden centre just outside of Plymouth and they had a fantastic range of Weightwatchers food, so I stocked up and decided to get back on the diet.
Good luck everyone:thumbsup2

I have definatly been thinking about how this May's going to be tough for me , Bank holidays, our spain holiday to Portaventura, half term ~ i always struggle when kids r home picking all day, and of course Aarons bday and the Dis meet @ TR.
But on a more positive note 3 lbs for me last week (definatly undeserved afer this weekend~ lets hope it doesnt catch me up!)

Well as they say on the chart show I'm a "none mover" this week.
I'm happy with STS though as I had cake several times...
Excellent!!! :rotfl2::lmao::rotfl2: And well done STS...
well since getting to my holiday goal last week i havent been too good.
pizza hut, TGI's etc yum yum ;)
going to try and be good the rest of the week and hope for a maintain...
Fingers crossed for you, Nicola... http://bestsmileys.com/fingers/1.gif
I stayed the same this week - which is fair considering how often I had "the munchies".
I'd settle for that, Libby... :thumbsup2
...On a personal note, I am a non-mover just like Claire - I blame the Bank Holiday weekend and my own lack of willpower
STS is fine, Joh! I like to call it "consolidating.." ;) :rolleyes1:wizard:
I had a sneak peak and was weighing in the same as last weeks weigh in. Hopefully a bit may have gone by Friday fingers crossed...
Here's hoping... :goodvibes

well done jakki,on being the slimmer of the month.
i tried & failed,to restart my diet last week.my thinking was,i could go back on it & lose,what i had put on.but without knowing,what i had put on,there was no way of knowing what,i was gonna lose,so i had no motivation.anyway i kept my appointment today & i have put 7lb on:scared1::scared1::scared1:
i actually thought it would have been more!
it has been over 3 week, since i was last weighed,so i was expecting about 12lb,as i know how easy,it goes on.
i now know,where i am at,so no excuses,this week!
well done everyone,on your continued success & don't eat too many ribs,on saturday:)

Well done for going and getting wieghed Tracy, that must have taken some guts considering you've had 3 weeks 'off'. As you say, it coul dhave been worse - and now you just need to find that motivation you had before and get right back on it. Good luck this week :goodvibes

Well done Tracy for getting weighed - it can be really hard to get back into the dieting frame of mind after a break, I know!!! In the context of all that you've lost, a gain of 7lbs over 3 weeks isn't bad and you know you can lose that quickly... Good luck for the upcoming week...:hug::hug:

Nat, it's only half a pound. Seems like you had fun doing it;)
Your switch around sounds good Mandy, I try to give bread the elbow every now and then - it's a good way to kick start:thumbsup2

Brilliant news (apart from being sick) - and well done 4lb is amazing
I don't weigh until Tuesday but I had to post this as I was so pleased. I took my mum to the airport yesterday and once we'd dropped her off DD & I went to M&S as I only have one pair of jeans that fit. I do have some summer stuff, but lets face it, there's not much chance of wearing that here
Anyhoo - I took a few things into the changing room to try on and they were all too big, I ended up buying a pair of pull on trousers in a size 16 :woohoo::woohoo:
Now - for those of you who've never been above a size 12 - that might not seem like something to shout about (but then, if you've never been above a size 12, you'd hardly be reading this diet thread ;) ) but for me it was a major achievement as I was probably at least a 28 / 30 before I started this diet and I can't even remember the last time I would have bought something in a size 16.
I can't wait to be able to buy even smaller sizes and I can feel a spend up coming on in Florida :dance3:

That is fantastic - well done you. What an inspiration ::yes:: I've really got my head around this diet now and want to continue to lose (not 4lb a week though) to get down to a healthy weight. I was very happy this week to be 11 stone something and not the horrendous number I was ;) really spurs me on now to get down to 10 stone something etc etc.

xx
Well done on STS...I agree that cutting bread from your diet can help with the weight loss, I'm going to try cut down on my bread this week too.
I have dropped a pound this week and I'm pleased with that as I haven't been as active as usual! Off to the gym later tho' to make up for it... :yay:
Well done on your loss - hope you enjoyed the gym!
Woohoo :banana::banana:
I've done it, lost 1lb this week and I'm now at my goal weight :) I'm thrilled.
Yey Gaynor - well done on the loss! :thumbsup2 Fantastic news on reaching your target weight!
I have lost 1lb this week, which i am pleased with considering what i ate on bank holiday monday ;)
Well done on the 1lb loss, keep going! :thumbsup2
no loss this week
i was away for 5 days and didnt expect to lose any , thought i would have put it on
so happy sts
Great that you've STS even though you've been away! Well done!
I have a really busy day today and tomorrow so I have weighed a day early.
Poppy has woken early, so I am up to:surfweb:
I have lost 4lb:scared1: that never happens to me but I have walked everywhere this week and I was ill one day/night so didnt eat much and was sick - so I guess thats it. I probably won't lose this week then
Good luck everybody:thumbsup2
Fantastic loss of 4lbs! You must be made up, that's great news! Keep going and keeping walking!
what fab loss! I think exersise really helps :thumbsup2
I have lost 1/4 lb this week :rotfl: at this rate i will reach my target when I am 65!!!
I agree that exercise really helps towards loosing - and it makes you feel so much better about yourself after you've completed it too. Well done on loosing your 1/4lb, better than nothing at all! :thumbsup2
Anyhoo - I took a few things into the changing room to try on and they were all too big, I ended up buying a pair of pull on trousers in a size 16 :woohoo:
Now - for those of you who've never been above a size 12 - that might not seem like something to shout about (but then, if you've never been above a size 12, you'd hardly be reading this diet thread ;) ) but for me it was a major achievement as I was probably at least a 28 / 30 before I started this diet and I can't even remember the last time I would have bought something in a size 16.
I can't wait to be able to buy even smaller sizes and I can feel a spend up coming on in Florida :dance3:
Now that's an amazing achievement - very well done! That must have felt amazing trying on those jeans! You deserve to head to Florida and have a little shopping spree - hope you find some lovely things! :goodvibes
Phew, I need to keep up with you all more :lmao:
For anyone I've missed I'm sorry and well done everyone on keeping up the weight-loss right into May!
And now for the big news - I've broken that horrible deadlock!! :goodvibes Only a 1lb loss, BUT, it's an achievement for me, as I've been STS for the last couple of weeks, which was beginning to get frustrating for me. Onwards and downwards for that bridesmaid dress in two weeks! :lovestruc

Well done to you, Rachel!!! :yay:
...I have given up my Friday night Asda curry, cut down on my bread and I only had one small glass of White Zinfandel last weekend. I want to try and be good over the next couple of weeks, as losing 2lbs this week has really spurred me on..
That's a great idea, Mandy! I'm sure you'll see a result from making those changes...

STS is better than putting on and, like you said, you'll probably catch up next week.
I lost 0.7kg this week which was probably helped by a lot of walking and a couple of industrial strength gardening sessions during the week :cool2: I've got another 10 weeks to go until my holidays :woohoo: so I'm going to set myself a target to have 5kg gone by then. That would bring me down to 73kg (11st 7lbs)
My major worry is how I'll get on in Florida, my attitude in the past would have been to eat what I wanted whenever I wanted. We're there for 5 weeks so if I don't want to come back heavier than when I started the diet I'm going to have to be really aware what I choose. I know that I'll be able to make healthy choices but I am just worried about putting on weight while I'm there.

I know what you mean and 5 weeks is a long time. BUT I reckon that by the time your hols come around your stomach will have shrunk quite a bit and you just won't be able to eat as much of the indulgent stuff... I only went for two weeks but probably for the first time in years, had anything/everything I wanted! However, due to the fact that my eyes are now waaay bigger than my stomach, rarely finished anything... ;)

5 weeks is a long time to be in Florida with all the lovely delights it has to offer;)
I try to be good on holiday by going for a swim when the children are in bed, this helps burn that extra bit. I think all that walking helps too:thumbsup2
You can make healthy choices which don't have to be boring, choose tomato/clear based sauces rather than creamy ones etc. I find the portions huge, so I tend to have what I want but I never finish it - I know that sounds like a waste of food but I can't dictate the portion sizes. I have also been know to order childrens meals in CS restaurants. I never finish a side order of fries (or I try to order the alternative). I only have a pudding every other day. Sticking to water during the day also helps me.
Most of all have a good time, I agree with Natalie, don't deny yourself too much so that you regret it when you get home:)

I put on again this week. 2.5lbs!! After sticking to my diet for the whole of 2007 and only putting on once in a whole 12 months I just can't stick to it for longer than a fortnight!!!
I'm not upset as I know exactly what I did wrong (and it was more than my meal at Tony Romas!) but I am disappointed with myself.
Oh, well at least I went to WW this evening. (Followed by an unhealthy binge in the kitchen once I got home.) Perhaps I should pin the tracker sheet to myself this week and then I may actually fill it in for longer than 2 days.

Don't be too down-hearted, perhaps you should forget about dieting for a while, then make completely fresh start.

Me, well, I've lost 1/4lb this week, which takes me to a total of 13 and 3/4lb in total loss since January 09. A little disappointed that I've not quite made the 1 stone mark for the wedding next weekend, but I do feel much better after loosing this initial amount. I'm keeping going after the wedding also, as I'm doing this for myself and not just because of the wedding. Fingers crossed for some more weight-loss soon! It's soup and no bread for me all this week for one last push to make that dress feel a little better :lmao:

OK guys I am back. Dropped out at the beginning of February when my gran died and everything went a bit haywire.
Promised myself every Monday I would start afresh but never got ther - was never in the zone ;)
Feel a bit more positive now ( and all my clothes are beginning to groan) so here I am ready to go :)

I've lost 0.9kg this week which was probably helped by managing to get in 4 days of walking this week. I've only got to loose another 0.9kg and I'll be under 12st

...I lost another 3lbs this week, hopefully, fingers crossed, touching wood etc I am now on a roll!!
Awesome work, Jen!!! :yay::yay::yay:
I've put on 1/4 pound this week, which isn't a lot but I am soooo glad it's not more as I've been really naughty, as my parents have been away, and I've not been going to the gym as my life has been ruled by the dog this week,
I'm starting back on my 7 day gym routine from now until the holiday as i really need to shift this weight!!
That's a tiny gain - I'm sure it'll be gone very quickly!!! Good luck getting back into your routine... :thumbsup2
..Me, well, I've lost 1/4lb this week, which takes me to a total of 13 and 3/4lb in total loss since January 09. It's soup and no bread for me all this week for one last push to make that dress feel a little better...
You are going to look fabulous, hun!!! I too NEED to see photos!!! If I don't post before the big day - have an amazingly wonderful time...:hug::hug:

Our body's are amazing, it's funny how we all have weeks like this every now and then, I had an amazing foodie weekend and found myself slipping into old ways on Monday and it was really hard to resist and I wouldn't say I've had the best two days but I think I've manage to dodge those cravings.
Good luck for Friday :thumbsup2 I'm out with the girls at La Rascasse tonight if you fancy more over indulgence;)
Off to toddler group in a mo with my diet coke - that way I don't go near the tea and biscuits;)

I have been shamefully slack at keeping up with this thread over the last few days again, I'm so sorry. In my defence, having had 3 days off work sick last week, I am mega busy trying to catch up and haven't even got time to go back and see how everyone's done at the moment.
So, can I just say a massive well done to all the losers, a commiserations to the gainers (if there are any) and wish everyone good luck for the coming week.
I have lost 1/2 lb this week, which is about right after a pretty naughty weekend (trying to feed the cold and starve the fever ;))
Back to the grindstone and hoping for a big loss this week, though.

:headache: not a good month for me at all.
I was finding it hard to stick to Atkins properly so thought I would try the 'eat what I want but less of it' diet. Err, no. Didn't work. 6lbs showed me that
I needed to come off my diet (that I wasn't really doing properly and getting frustrated with) to know I wanted to go back on it properly - if that makes sense!
1st June is the start of Atkins again for me. I know it works for me as I have lost over 3 stone on it. I just need to knuckle down and do it.
Well done to everyone who did well and to those who are disappointed, June is another month and you will do well :goodvibes:goodvibes

Oh, forgot to say. I stopped smoking 2 weeks ago and it is so hard not to eat!!
:yay:Well done on giving up the ciggies .. and :wizard:Good Luck too
Well I completely lost the plot the last couple of months weight-wise, personal difficulties and such and put back on a stone
But I knocked it on the head week before last and weighed in 7lbs lighter today (for the last 2 weeks) so i'm really pleased with that.
Hopefully i've found what works for me now and i'm happy with that so we'll see. Having booked to go back next year is a big incentive too :thumbsup2
Well done everyone :worship: and good luck :thumbsup2
:wizard: Well done at getting back on track Paula-Jane
I put 2lbs on this week :sad1:

Things are not looking good for me this week after a very naughty BH weekend - I'm on a bit of a starvation diet/detox today (assisted by the fact that I lost a crown at the weekend so am finding it painful to eat anyway) and hoping to undo some of the damage :goodvibes
I notice we seem to have lost a few more of Nat's Fat Club members over the last couple of weeks. I am desperately trying to bring the spreadsheet up to date so if the following people are still weighing in with us, I'd be grateful if you could post:
kieras nana
Pinky 166
TinkabellSoph

mazz1
aaronandterri
Thanks guys :thumbsup2

Goodluck for the week ahead. Sorry to hear about the crown. I am also on a major diet/detox/exercise for the rest of the week after the BH weekend.
