Has anyone ever done this? I have a ticket that expires on 8/1/02 and we may end up driving to Orlando. I see that people are selling them, but I have never used ebay and am afraid of getting into trouble (I didn't think you could sell a ticket) or getting stuck. Any suggestions?

I am not sure what kind of ticket you are trying to sell. however, frequent flyer award tickets are NOT suppose to be sold and if you are caught you can be kicked out of the program.

From the Southwest site:
Rapid Rewards Tickets are fully transferable (but cannot be sold). That means there are no complicated processes to complete if you want to give someone else the Freedom to go

I frequently see the rewards being sold, however, you are buying the "envelope" not the ticket which just happens to be in the envelope. No I have not purchased nor sold this way, just observed the process.

I had a RR ticket that would have expired March 2002. I called SW and for a $35.00 fee they reissued the ticket for one year extended. I have seen the tickets on ebay for sale, and they seem to bring in alot $$. But id rather have the ticket myself. I did let my brother in law use one for an emergency and he paid me 200.00 rt/from ca.

My husband and myself both have RR vouchers that expire next Feb. and March. My hairdresser told me of a company in Dallas that will buy them. She has sold two of hers, the last one for around $275. The email address is www.mrmileage.com. They will also buy other airlines' ff miles.
We have a trip to Seattle next June, so I think I will hang on to ours and try to get them extended as the above poster mentioned.

Just to let you know, the risk is no you! If the airline determines that you sold your ticket to the company in Dallas, the tickets will be voided and you are out of the FF club. I had a friend who sold tickets this way and somehow American found out. She is no longer allowed to join AA's frequent flyer program.

I had a SW ticket about to expire and gave it to a neighbor who was going to Fla on SW. In return, her husband takes care of our computer and she gives me perennials whenever she divides hers. You can always use your ticket to barter like I did!
