Searches are too hard with my phone.
What's the name of the mobile detailing service at the fort with contact info?
How much for a wash and wax?
Do you give them a credit card # and they do it while you're away?
Thanks!
The new pool is nice. I wish the splash area was done. My 2 year old would love it.
I haven't traveled around much, but my area is fairly full.
Hollywood Studios in the morning. Hoop Dee Doo in the evening.
My wife doesn't think we'll spend much time at the campground.

Call Amazing Detailing - talk to Jose Ferrer. (407) 575-8336
They did my 33' motorhome last week. I had some heavy oxidation on the front and rear so they had some serious buffing to do. They washed the roof, washed, buffed, waxed and polished the RV and my tow car for $350.00 and did a great job. I'm quite pleased.
Cannot answer your credit card question, I was here and I paid cash. Jose did say that he would come around the next day to collect if I wasn't here, so he seems pretty flexible.

If it's the 2 guys in the white cube van they're making a mint. When we were there last month I saw them everyday on several loops.

FWIW - I HATE to hear those power washers running when I'm at the Fort to relax. I know it's convenient to have it done for you at FtW, but can't you have it done at home? You'd probably get a better deal if you shopped locally for a pressure cleaning company.
ETA: If the guy does run a pressure washer - make sure your slides are in.

FWIW. I LOVE to hear that pressure washing going. The Fort is one of the best places to get that work done because there is something you can do while they are cleaning it. Once it is done you have the best lookin' rig in the loop. I may get mine done when I am there in May. It has been a year since I had it done which was last May I believe.:cool1:
I have also found that generally, 99% of the time. The loops are 99% void of human life so no harm no foul. Of course, there are always the exceptions.:thumbsup2

I'll do that for you for $300. I can also fix that electrical problem while I'm at it for no extra charge. :goodvibes

Another dead horse.
Everyone has their own opinion on this, I can only add...try to be considerate of your neighbors who may not have gone to FW to visit the parks..but are camping instead. Just something to think about.

I totally agree.
We used Amazing Detailing last year and they did an excellent job. We plan to use them again on our next trip. :thumbsup2

I agree, I find them annoying. We have ours detailed before we get there.
But, with the economy in Michigan the way it is, I joked with the wife after our last trip that we should just pack up and move to Fort Wilderness, we could rent golf carts and wash RV's. :hippie: We saw that white van everyday in loop 800, or if we couldn't see them we definitely heard them.

I have to agree. If I was trying to relax I'd dang sure not want to hear a pressure washer. I just pressure washed the pool deck and sidewalks at our community pool and the noise is bad. Too bad they don't make quiet pressure washers like they did the generators.

Disney should have a designated area for this type of service. This way the people who want to have their rigs power washed can do so without disturbing those who want to enjoy the peace and quiet of a camping vacation.

Before a trip our RV gets a thorough wash and wax. Then we drive though the snow, slush, rain and salt. Once we finally get down there, it looks like a totally different vehicle, and not in a good way.
$300 is a great price, when it takes me an entire day from sunrise to sunset, or two whole afternoons to get the same job done. Throw in another car and it's a steal.
I agree on trying not to upset the peace and quiet, though. How long does a pressure washer run for when washing the RV? I use a high-volume/low-pressure hose here to do it, and it's not on all that long.
Is this service a 100% fluid reclamation service? Out here on-site detailers must contain and remove any runoff from the service.

How do they achieve that? It seems like it would be virtually impossible at FW.
Back on topic...$300 does sound like a good deal for a large rig, but if I had to hear a pressure washer run for an hr or two while "relaxing" I would be a little ticked.

Nope!! And with the severe water shortage in Florida right now, I'm surprised Osceola & Orange counties are still allowing this to be done. Not to mention the fact that Disney allows outside companies to come into the Fort for a non-necessity service. Try getting Papa John's to deliver a pizza to your site.
RV repair company? That's a different story. Pressure washing company? Not necessary.

I don't disagree to having it done, just not on your site. I'm sure if people start complaining they will make these guy's stop. I've never really seen this service until our last trip. Like Scott said they were there everyday. While I support this small business and hope him the best I would like them to be respectful of the other campers.

No need to bring in your slides. I did not bring in my slides. The slides need a washin' too. These guys are good and do rigs that are over 20 times the cost of my rig.
The noise is not that bad. The pressure washer is mounted inside the van so that deadens the sound some what and it really does not take them that long. One of the guys goes around with the washer wetting and rinsing while the other brush washes it. Then they wax on and wax off. Capitalism at its best.:thumbsup2
If the sound really bothers you, then do some loopin for 15 minutes to a half hour or take a little walk and it will be over before you know it. We did some loopin' while our was being done.
Oh, who eats Papa Johns?:scared1:

I do agree it's makes for unpleasant camping listening to power washers all day, been there done that.
Our TT dealer has always told us NEVER power wash your RV, it's not good for it and the stickers especially.

I guess some are more sensitive to the noise then others. It doesn't bother me. Nor does the work Disney is doing or the buses riding by, etc. I am just happy to be there and not at work.
When you find a totally quite campground please let me know. Even our campgrounds around here there is always some kind of work going on.
It is the same old thing every time someone asks a question about having their rig cleaned. Can't we just answer a question and be done instead of lecturing about how annoying it is? Not everyone has the opportunity or ability to do it themselves or nor does every area in the country have people that clean RVs.
Sorry if this offends someone I am just tired of the same old complaining and had to say something. :headache:

I think then you should have expected the replies that were posted. As you mentioned it's been discussed before. Given that it doesn't bother you, you'd like it to be a clean.. cut and dry, answer the question....and move on. That being said, if a question was asked that you felt would directly effect how you would enjoy your trip..you might have a different take. That's all that's being offered here. People are gonna do what they're gonna do. Sometimes people do things without a clue that what they're doing might effect someone else. That's all that's being pointed out. It's repetative..sure. I get that..but.., and I mean this is a nice way:hug:..so please don't take it the wrong way. I just wouldn't read the thread if it's gonna bug you. It is sort of predictable the way this is gonna go. You have two sides to this issue, and each has some pretty good points to be made.
As far as all campgrounds being noisy...most that I've been too, have strict rules regarding the cleaning of rigs. While I've seen many campers give their rigs a quick rinse...never have I heard of professional companies being allowed in. We have been seasonal in two RV Resorts that had some pretty high end rigs coming in. Each had strict restrictions regarding cleaning campers. WHY...because they know that folks are there to enjoy the camping experience. While the seasonal folks were allowed to clean their campers..it had to be done during certain hours on particular days, so as to NOT disturb nightly campers. Nightly campers were not permitted to clean their campers at all.

Oh, I expected those replies cause it is the same thing every time someone mentions it. :rolleyes1
I guess if it is really a problem for so many then people should complain to Disney so they don't allow it in the first place.

Yes they will also clean the awning.
They don't necessarily "Power Wash" the RV. They use the Power Wash to wet the rig mainly and then follow with a Brush Wash and then a Power Rinse.
I also find that washing an RV at night generally does not get the job done. It is hard to see the dirt.

Steve - You've been lucky not to have your slides leak when having your 5'er power washed. Our Travel Supreme slides leaked just from a regular rain. We didn't realize it until we spotted (and smelled) mildew on the wood trim inside.
Quite a few people in our neighborhood found out the hard way that their slides let water in when having them pressure washed.
Aside from the noise from the power washing equipment at FtW, I found the constant drone from the chain saws really nerve-wracking last year. They were working right behind our site on the 300 loop. Ugh!!
IMHO - If FtW is taking a cut from the guys doing the RV cleaning - no matter how many people complain - they will still let them in.
Funny though....as many times as I've been to the various resorts I have never seen a mobile car detailing unit. :confused3

Deb, What happened to "Life's Too Short, Enjoy The Fort"? Just Sayin'
Are you not aloud to wash your own MoHo at Fort Wilderness. I think this would be a great time to detail mine. I can wake up and have it done before wife and kids are out of bed, it will be perfect. My plan is to wax one side per mourning...:thumbsup2

Yes...you can wash your rig yourself. DH washes the front down if we encounter a "love-bug" attack on the way over.
At the moment the entire state of Florida is in drought condition - so I don't know if FtW has any "bans" on washing vehicles at your site. It would be a tough one to enforce if they did.
