We have gone to Disneyworld many times and on a Disney Cruise once. While I have always taken pictures, I have never actually done a review on these boards. Instead, I lurked and chose restaurants based on all the other amazing reviews. I figure it is my turn to give back with lots of food pics.

This time around it will be Me (30) and DH (34) traveling alone. We are doing WDW for 4 nights, a 7 Night Cruise and another 2 nights back at WDW. Here is our current dining line up. We are not on the dining plan.

Tony’s – Dinner - Repeat visit

Sci-Fi – Lunch - We do this one every trip. It is well worth a air conditioned break for a few more dollars than the burgers at the CS restaurants.

Raglan Road – Dinner – First time visit!

Planet Hollywood – Dinner - Repeat visit, but it has been a while.

House of Blues – Dinner – Repeat visit...we love this place.

Boma Breakfast – Must do, every trip!

Fountain Lunch – First time! We are trying this one out instead of Beaches N' Cream.

Kona Café - Dinner - First time visit!

Hard Rock Café - Dinner – Repeat visit. We enjoy Hard Rock Cafe's no matter where we are!

50s Prime Time Diner - Lunch – Repeat visit.

While we do have plans on going to all of these establishments, last time we cruised, we ended up barely eating at WDW afterward. We were done with the large meals. We will see what happens this time around! We tried to pick places we could have smaller meals if we wanted.

I also plan on including my DCL food pictures as well. Hopefully, you won't mind them merged in the same thread.

While the trip is still 43 days away, I will be making at least one visit to Disney California Adventure's food and wine festival. I hope to post some pictures of that event within this same thread!

I am looking forward to your reviews. Have fun anticipating. That's 1/2 the fun for me!

I really enjoy the CA food and wine festival. I actually like it more than the one in WDW. I feel that there are more free things to do and the samples are bigger...etc. I also think it has a more relaxing feel to it. I am not a fan of the booths in WDW, so glad they are not in CA. Instead, you can sample different meals at select restaurants.

It sounds like you have a great trip coming up!

Thanks! I can't wait!

I made my first visit (this year) to DCA's Food and Wine Festival. I have gone every year so far and have loved watching the festival grow. I enjoy the "feel" of the festival in California much more than at Epcot. I personally dislike the food booths. Here is a quick review of what I did and pictures (I remembered) to take!

We did not arrive to the park until 11:30ish. So, we decided the first event we would try would be a culinary demonstration at 12:30. Since the event was in the Sunshine Plaza (front of park), we decided to go ahead and get in line. We wanted to read through the Festival Guide and get acquainted with this year's layout.

The 12:30 event was presented by Naples Ristorante. This restaurant is found in Downtown Disney and is run by the Patina Group. This is the same group which currently operates Tutto Italia in Epcot. I LOVE the food at this restaurant, but much like Tutto Italia, it is quite expensive.

Here is a picture of the presentation:

http://gallery.me.com/jennifer.mcsparran/100005/photo1242093744583/web.jpg?ver=12420937450001

The Chef taught us how to make Gnocchi. Instead of serving it the traditional style with marinara or a cream sauce, he sauteed the Gnocchi in garlic, onion, peas, seasoning, and a bit of oil. As easy as he tried to make it sound, there is NO WAY I will be able to make this at home. There were too many steps and too many ingredients. Sadly, by the time the food came, I was so ready to eat, I forgot to snap a picture!!! It was delicious and the serving size pretty good. I had about six Gnocchi on my plate with the delicious sauce.

Our next stop was to the Beer & Spirits Seminar. I don't remember much about the company presenting, but I did learn a lot about beer I hadn't at past seminars. I realized I should always pour beer into a glass straight down the middle. Having the foam at the top is a good thing. You are also not supposed to wash beer glasses with any kind of soap!

We were able to sample two beers at this demonstration. Both were great, but the one of the left was my favorite. Each brewing company decides how many samples to serve as I have had anywhere from 2-4 at presentations in the past.

http://gallery.me.com/jennifer.mcsparran/100005/photo1242093766334/web.jpg?ver=12420937660001

By the time this presentation was over, we were hungry for lunch. It was already close to 2:30 by this point and we wanted a large meal. So, we went to Naples Ristorante of course! The free demo certainly worked on us. I love the pizza here and got a personal pepperoni pizza. My friend opted for the Fettucini Carbonara - Fettucini pasa, bacon-cream sauce, tomatoes, parmesan cheese, Italian herbs, solw poached egg. Both were VERY good. I FORGOT TO TAKE PHOTOS AGAIN! It is a good thing I am practicing now, so it becomes habit once I get to WDW!

After lunch, we were stuffed and decided to skip the Celebrate Germany culinary presentation. Instead we headed over to the Beer and Wine Flights. After looking at both. we decided to go with the beer flight.

First, you pay for your flight $10.88 including tax and are given a passport.

http://gallery.me.com/jennifer.mcsparran/100005/photo1242093999868/web.jpg?ver=12420940000001

As you select a beer, your passport is stamped. You are allowed 5 4 oz. beers and therefore 5 stamps.

http://gallery.me.com/jennifer.mcsparran/100005/photo1242093981276/web.jpg?ver=12420939810001

This is what each serving looked like:

http://gallery.me.com/jennifer.mcsparran/100005/photo1242093927840/web.jpg?ver=12420939280001

We drank two servings of our 5 and decided to take a break. It was great that you could come and go as you pleased throughout the day!!

We had a fastpass for Soarin' Over California and used that before the 5:30 wine tasting. We made it back to the Wine Tasting just in time to be the last two people seated!

At the tasting, we were given four samples presented by the Flora Springs Winery. My favorite by far was the Chardonnay. It was delicious. I enjoyed the presentation much more than others. He was short and too the point regarding the wines. His stories were amusing and kept me entertained.

Here are the four wines: I didn't write down the names!

http://gallery.me.com/jennifer.mcsparran/100005/photo1242094046381/web.jpg?ver=12420940470001

We finished our Beer flight and then decided to head to Downtown Disney for some shopping and head home.

That is all for now! I will be going back to the resort soon and will try hard to remember to take the food pictures!!!

We have arrived at the WDW resort!!! However, I thought I would start my reviews with our travel dining. First stop, dinner before our flight at Pat and Oscars!

If you are not from California, you may not have heard of this restaurant. It is excellent and serves in the same style as Wolfgang Puck Marketplace. You order your meal, place a number at your table and food is delivered once it is ready.

My DH and I shared all items.

Our main course was the BBQ Rotisserie Chicken. What I am not a huge fan of BBQ sauce, but at Pat and Oscars, they mix in diced garlic and many other spices, which makes it taste incredible. The chicken was hot, juicy and fall off the bone good!!!

BBQ Rotisserie Chicken

We decided on fresh baked potato wedges as our first side. Full of garlic, oregano, basil, and a blend of other spices, these always do the trick!

Potato Wedges

As a second side, we ordered four of their amazing breadsticks. These are hands down the best breadsticks I have been able to find anywhere. Served hot and loaded with fresh garlic. Yum!

The meal was great and service excellent. I recommend this restaurant to anyone who visits the Southern CA area.

Up next...Wolfgang Puck Marketplace

We checked into Saratoga Springs Resort around 11am, but our room was not ready. We were tired and hungry, so decided to give Wolfgang Puck over in the Marketplace a try. We figured we could hang around for a while as long as it wasn’t packed and no one was waiting to be seated.

This is only our second time at this dining location. I learned about it through the DIS boards and now feel it will become a regular for us.

DH decided on the Rotisserie Chicken with Garlic Mashed potatoes. He commented on how it was even better than last time we were there. Everything was very hot. I must admit, I couldn’t help digging my fork into the mashed potatoes!

http://gallery.me.com/jennifer.mcsparran/100017/photo1245167533622/web.jpg?ver=12451675340001

I have seen the chicken fingers in different food reviews and they always looked so fantastic. I was also craving the herbed fries. However, I knew I would not be able to eat an adult sized portion, so went with the kids.

http://gallery.me.com/jennifer.mcsparran/100017/photo1245167471924/web.jpg?ver=12451674720001

Can you believe the size of the kid’s meal? It also came with a drink for just $6.95!!! This was plenty for me, with some left over. The chicken fingers were amazing (for chicken fingers that is) and the fries were unique and herbed wonderfully.

This place is great. Can’t believe I overlooked it for so many years!

I love WPE! I haven't had their mashed potatoes yet, but they look great! Great start to the reviews.

Be sure to get them next time! The butter/garlic gravy is amazing. You can't really see it in the photo I posted because it all leaked out of a whole in the bottom of the potatoes.

the mash potatoes sold me. I will be going to WPE in November, and I am subscribing to your report!!

Everything we have tried both times we have been here has been great, expect for the Mac and Cheese. I found it too dry and bland. I like stronger cheeses in my Mac and Cheese.

Wow, lots of great looking chicken, and three various versions of potatoes. Yum. It's giving me a craving for Boston Market for some reason. ;)

Haha, I wish Boston Market could make such great chicken. :)

We love SSR as well. So relaxing and quiet! It quickly has become our favorite resort.

I can not wait to try WGPE!! Your food looked very good!

It was very good. There is also free Wireless internet, so a great place to hand out if not too crowded. We waited for our room to be ready since hitting the parks after an overnight flight (before showering) was not going to happen!

Thank you for posting a LIVE review! Can you also post the crowd level at the parks too, pretty please?

The crowds are pretty bad, but not as bad as July last year. We waited 35 minutes for Tower of Terror this morning (about 30 minutes after park opening). Fastpass for Toy Story Mania were for 3:30-4:30 at 11am. We are dong the parks at opening and at night. Spending mid-day at the villa and swimming.

Ok, so I really want this for my breakfast right now. That's ok, right? :rotfl:

I have had that same feeling many times looking at reviews on this site!!!!

Last night, we had dinner at Tony’s at the Magic Kingdom. This is a regular for us, but we usually eat lunch here. This was our first time trying out dinner.

Our reservation was for 5:20, but we got to the Magic Kingdom around 5:00, and decided to go ahead and check-in, since there wasn’t much else we could do in 20 minutes.

Our first shock came when we saw the mass of people hovering in and around the entrance of the restaurant. It has never looked like this at lunchtime. We went ahead and made our way through the masses. Come to find out, most of the people were guests without priority seating. They had someone standing near the door letting people know there weren’t any available walk-up spaces indoors. This caused people to migrate and decide if they wanted to endure the heat and eat outside.

Once we made it past the great debate of 2009 taking place by the door and to the podium, we checked in. We were told to wait in the lobby until our name was called.

The lobby was pretty packed, but what I would expect at a Disney restaurant around dinner. To our surprise we were called within 5 minutes and brought to our table. We have eaten at Tony’s every trip and for some reason we always end up in the atrium section. I think next time I might request the main dining room, even if we have to wait longer.

The atrium was packed full of large parties. We were placed in the very corner of the room, which was okay by us. We were somewhat separated from the noise. It was LOUD in there. Another thing we don’t experience at lunch.

Our server greeted us and took our drink orders. We were both very thirsty and opted for water. Once he brought it back, we were ready to order. We both wanted the Chicken Parmigiana. We knew this was a huge portion, so skipped appetizers. Plus, I have seen all the wonderful pictures of the bread served at dinner.

We server walked away with our orders and in about 3 minutes, from above my head came the bread, plopped down in front of me. I was so excited, but as I reached for a piece of bread, the same hand reached over me and moved it and placed the chicken parmigiana in front of me. No time to enjoy the bread, and how the heck did the main courses get made so quickly?????

I did not like the way dinner was feeling so rushed, but decided to dig in. Heck, the Chicken Parmigiana still looked like this….

http://gallery.me.com/jennifer.mcsparran/100017/photo1245197409527/web.jpg?ver=12451974090001

The portion was huge and tasted pretty good. The breading was a bit soggy, which makes me believe it was not cooked to order (well that, and the rapid speed delivery time). However, we took our time and enjoyed the meal. Our server kept checking to see if we were done. I understand wanting to turn tables, but we should be able to enjoy the food!

After the main course, we were both full and decided it was time to go. It was very noisy at that point with large groups with lots of screaming kids. The atrium area echoes pretty badly.

All in all, the food was decent, but the atmosphere and service not what we are used to with Tony’s. We are not sure if we caught the place on a bad night, but both agreed that we would be visiting here just for lunch in the future.

Up next...Sci-Fi Diner and tonight we have reservations at Raglan Road (a new place for us)!

Great reviews so far.

Above reminds me of our one experience at Tony's - my Dad went in to let them know we had arrived while I wheeled my mom up the ramp entrance to the building. He comes out and says to me, "The guy said they are full - they aren't seating anyone else." :scared1: Excuse me! I went in with my Dad and the first thing I stated to the host was, "I have a reservation." The guy took our name and was like, no problem. My Dad says, "I was in here one minute ago and you said you were full and wouldn't be seating anyone else." The host says to him, "oh sir, I just assumed you didn't have a reservation.". Yes, my Dad - the man with no reservations.....

Today we woke up bright and early and ate breakfast within our DVC Villa. This is something we love about owning DVC. There is nothing like pouring a bowl of cereal or having a cup of tea while relaxing on the veranda….or in bed. ☺ We will sometimes do lunch or dinner in the room as well. Gives our belly’s a break from the rich food in the parks.

Back on track. We made it to park opening at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. We did as much of the park as possible before our lunch at Sci-Fi Diner. Our reservation was at 11:20. We walked in, they took our name and we were seated immediately.

Sci-Fi Diner is a restaurant we hit every time we are at Disneyworld. Being able to have a decent lunch mid-day is great. The restaurant is always well air conditioned and most importantly quiet. I think the movie playing really keeps the noise level down. I don’t think we have every heard a baby crying or family arguing here!

Like usual, we were hitchhikers in the back of a party of four. Being in the back of the car doesn’t bother us one bit. We actually like having the privacy.

Our waitress greeted up pretty quickly and took our drink orders. Like usual, I went for plain ice water. DH got a coke and water. The drinks came within a couple of minutes and we were ready to order.

We bother decided on a burger with onion rings instead of fries. I ordered mine with cheddar cheese and DH had his plain.

http://gallery.me.com/jennifer.mcsparran/100017/Sci%20Fi%20Burger/web.jpg?ver=12452628870001

The burger came within a reasonable time, about 10 minutes or so. It tasted as wonderful as usual. I ordered it medium-well and it was cooked as requested. The burger was served hot and it was very juicy. The onion rings on the side were good to great. I think I got a mixed batch because half of them were hot and crispy (great), while some were cold and getting soggy (good). However, the onion rings here are so delicious that even the cold ones tasted fine.

I usually don’t eat desserts at lunch while at WDW. It makes for a very full stomach and I like to fee light when at the parks. However, at Sci-Fi Diner, I almost always make an exception and after seeing the addition of the Chocolate Peanut Butter Cake with Ice Cream in previous reviews, there was no question!! I simply ate half of my entrée and left room for this…

http://gallery.me.com/jennifer.mcsparran/100017/T/web.jpg?ver=12452628950001

This dessert did not let me down. It was very warm, somewhat crusty on the outside and soft and moist on the inside. The peanut butter is only in the center, which was just enough. I love how the ice cream looks like it is balancing on the top in the picture. I went ahead and pushed it off for better cake to ice cream ratio! The dessert is big enough for two (after a meal), but my DH wanted his own vanilla milkshake.

http://gallery.me.com/jennifer.mcsparran/100017/Sci%20Fi%20Milkshake/web.jpg?ver=12452629750001

He always gets a milkshake here. This time around it was super thick and he was unable to use the straw. The little spoon on the end didn’t do the trick either. He ate it more like ice cream. He said it still tasted great and had no complaints!

Once again, Sci-Fi Diner lived up to our expectations. It gave us a break from the parks, a delicious meal and wonderful service. We much rather pay a few extra dollars for a lunch here over counter service in the parks. The burgers and desserts are excellent!!!

So sorry they rushed you!

I have this theory..all the foods are prepared in big huge heating trays and when that item is ordered...POOF! There is it...except for steaks which are probably half cooked and then finished how the person wants them.

There were many items we tried to order with or without ingredients in it and sometimes we were told no way and sometimes we were accommodated...just depends I guess!

I think your theory is correct. I remember I couldn't order the four cheese flatbread at lunch without one of the cheeses.

Now I'm seriously scared about our dinner at Tony's! 3 minutes and your meal is plopped in front of you? No way on earth that chicken was freshly prepared  If I want my food that fast I'll get CS and save my money/dining credits :sad2:

I never experience that kind of service during lunch. Not sure if it was a fluke or not. The chicken still tasted pretty good though! I wasn't looking around to see how quickly others were served.

I'm glad you had a good meal at Sci-Fi....we're going to go there in October, and it so often gets mixed reviews, so it was nice to see a positive one.

We have never had a bad meal here! The service has been spotty sometimes, but the food is always good to great. Just stick with burgers, fries, onion rings and desserts.

Enjoying your reviews and I hope you are having a wonderful time.

Thanks for the picture of the chicken parmasean at Tony's. Something I would like to try. And that cake from Sci-Fi looked so great.

Thanks for reading! The cake was SOOOOO good. I want to go back and just order the dessert!

LOVE Sci fi!! That is my favorite dessert!!!!! SOOOO good.

I love the Sci-Fi as well and wow, that dessert is fantastic!!! I am so glad they added it to the menu. I don't remember it being there last year. It was HUGE though and I wish I could have eaten more of it!

Wow great reviews thus far!!!! During my honeymoon my DH and I are trying Tonys for the first time for dinner, Im so excited but hope we dont encounter the craziness that you did!!! We love and always do Sci-fi as well... I agree with you when you said that its totally worth the money to spend a few extra dollars then just getting a burger at a Counter service!! cant wait to hear more!!:thumbsup2

The food at Tony's was still decent, so not a total loss! We consider ourselves somewhat patient people. What really bothered me was how LOUD it was in the atrium area. Call me crazy, but no matter where you are eating, I don't think kids should be running around tables screaming.

Great start of review!!! I have heard and seen great pictures from Wolfgang Puck express in DTD. Is this like a cafeteria style CS or is this a TS?? I know they have one upstairs and it is a TS one??

I believe it is technically a counter service. However, you order at the register and bring a number to a table in the dining area. The food is brought to your table once made. So, the food is made or completed to order. We went to the one in the Marketplace. There is also a Cafe and Dining location on the Westside of Downtown Disney. :)

Last night we had dinner at Raglan Road. This was the first time eating at this location. I was very excited since they offer Fish and Chips, and you just can not find decent Fish and Chips in Southern California. Being born and raised in Rhode Island, where Fish and Chips could be found fresh like Starbucks in Seattle and look like this…

http://spatulascorkscrews.typepad.com/my_weblog/images/2008/04/06/pict0288_2.jpg

At the restaurant above you can get two orders of fish and chips, two bowls of clam chowder and six clam cakes for under $20. YUM! I always get as much of this as I can when I go back and visit R.I.! If you have never had a clam cake (mainly found in R.I and M.A….they are soooo good!!

Okay, back to DISNEY food!!!

Needless to say, Raglan Road had a lot to live up to. I haven’t gone back to Rose and Crown since I bit into several bones when trying their Fish and Chips.

We had 6:00 reservations and arrived right on time. We were seated immediately at a wonderful table with two very comfortable leather chairs. I was already liking this place!!!

The waitress arrived very quickly and asked if we would like anything to drink. I started with water as I wanted to look over the drink menu. DH did the same. Once she came back, we ordered drinks. I ordered the Orlando Brewery Blonde Honey Ale. I am not a beer expert, but enjoyed the flavor. It was light and went well with my meal.

http://gallery.me.com/jennifer.mcsparran/100017/beer/web.jpg?ver=12453528750001

DH ordered a “One For the Road”, which was a mix of Vodka, Midori, pinapple and orange juice. He said it tasted pretty much like the “Green Gator” he gets at House of Blues in Anaheim’s Downtown Disney. It looked the same as well.

http://photos-b.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc1/hs107.snc1/4913_1076170586644_1297616481_30194577_6544493_n.j pg

Soon after, the bread came to the table. I pretty much expected to hate it based on other reviews and well, I did…enough said! Here is a picture of it though...

http://gallery.me.com/jennifer.mcsparran/100017/bread/web.jpg?ver=12453528650001

I ordered Fish and Chips for my main meal.

http://gallery.me.com/jennifer.mcsparran/100017/fish/web.jpg?ver=12453528840001

Everything came out very hot, which is how I like it! I could tell it did not sit around at all. The chips were PERFECT! Thick cut, crisp on the outside, cooked almost all of the way through, leaving a bit of a bite in the center of the chips. I sprinkled vinegar on top of them…yum. I could go for another batch right now!!! These were actually better than most chips I find in R.I.

The fish was also delicious and tasted much better than what is found at Rose and Crown, but not quite up to what is served in favorite R.I. locations. The batter was light with a great taste. The fish was flaky and cooked well.
I thought the meal was great and ate every single bite! I think for anyone with a larger appetite, the portion may not be big enough and for the price ($18.50), I think there could have been more on the plate. I would still pay the price though. I don’t have the option of getting this back in CA!

My DH, who can not stand seafood (expect shrimp) was thinking about the pasta. I told him NO after reading another review and seeing a picture of it. So instead, he ordered the Serious Sirloin Steak - 10 oz sirloin topped with Irish whiskey glazed, drizzled with fresh basil oil. Served with mashed potatoes and topped with crispy fried onion strings. He asked for it medium well.

http://gallery.me.com/jennifer.mcsparran/100017/steak/web.jpg?ver=12453528900001

When he cut open the steak, he realized it was cooked more medium-rare than medium well. He altered the waitress and had them take it back. She apologized and he told her it was no big deal. While he waited for his meal the manager came out to apologize as well. I really like it when restaurants care when they make mistakes. We were impressed. It really wasn’t a big deal though, we weren’t in a rush.

The steak came back and was cooked medium-well. They re-plated the entire meal and everything was hot and fresh. He enjoyed the steak once cooked to his liking. I tried a few bites and agree that it was fantastic. The Guinness glaze made the taste different than any steak I have had before, yet did not overpower it. The potatoes were smooth and creamy. I didn’t try the onion straws, but they looked good.

We skipped dessert, as we were both full after devouring our main courses.

This is a restaurant we will most likely visit again. The atmosphere combined with the great service and attentive staff make it a great and relaxing place to visit.

I don't think you will be disappointed. I thought the steak was very tasty. I would have eaten it how it came out the first time, but he likes his meat cooked medium-well. He actually used to only order it well done, but recently started medium-well.

There are a lot of mixed reviews regarding Planet Hollywood. We went once before (about 5 years ago) and really enjoyed ourselves. We figured we would try it again this time around. We are doing a lot of Downtown Disney restaurants Pre-Cruise this time around.

We arrived at 5:45 for a 6:00 reservation and were seated within a couple of minutes. We were brought to our table and noticed how close together they were. It wouldn’t be terrible except the woman behind me was staking her claim and would not budge when we sat down. There is no way I would have fit there if I were larger. My DH actually moved the table towards his chair. I got in, he pushed the table towards me (so I was tucked in) and then sat down himself. Once in the seat, I was fine though. We repeated this process when I got up from the table. LOL!

We both decided to order drinks. It cooled off quite a bit last night, so I went ahead and ordered an alcoholic coffee drink. It was a Far and Away - Bushmills Irish Whiskey, Kahlua and coffee blended with fresh whipped cream. It was pretty good. I would have liked for it to be a bit more creamy.

http://gallery.me.com/jennifer.mcsparran/100017/Planet-20hollywood/web.jpg?ver=12454239770001

My Dh went for a Legally Blond - This pina colada is truly a smart choice of Midori, coconut rum, strawberry and coconut. He upgraded to the souvenir glass and loved every last sip of the drink.

http://gallery.me.com/jennifer.mcsparran/100017/P/web.jpg?ver=12454239810001

I ordered a side garden salad for a starter. It was very basic with tomatoes, cucumber and lettuce. It is exactly what I wanted.

http://gallery.me.com/jennifer.mcsparran/100017/P_2/web.jpg?ver=12454239570001

We had both decided we were going to get pasta dishes for our main course. So, we asked if there was any way to get garlic bread. He said they had breadsticks, so we decided to try those.

http://gallery.me.com/jennifer.mcsparran/100017/P_1/web.jpg?ver=12454239350001

The serving came with three breadsticks. We were so excited when they came we forgot to take a picture. Here is what is left…sorry! They were warm and had a slight garlic flavor. They were a bit dry, but I didn’t mind. I dipped most of what I ate in my main course.

We both decided on the Spaghetti Pomodoro for our main course. This consisted of a mixture of plum tomatoes, garlic and olive oil. I had fresh ground Parmesan cheese added to the top.

http://gallery.me.com/jennifer.mcsparran/100017/P_3/web.jpg?ver=12454239320001

I loved this dish, my DH thought it was just okay. It was very light and the pasta was cooked well (not mushy like you can sometimes get in non-Italian restaurants).

Our server told us to save room for dessert, but I didn’t. The main course was just too good. Plus, we were headed to Epcot and I had plans for dessert later.

We enjoyed our experience at Planet Hollywood. It wasn't our favorite meal so far, but service was great and the atmosphere enjoyable. I don't like how close the tables are together, but it would not have been so bad if the person behind me would have shared the space. My DH had plenty of room to get in and out of his chair. We would go back again, but it is not a must do location.

Around 9 O’clock last night, we walked past the Fountain View in Epcot. We decided it was time for dessert! They serve hand scooped ice cream here (I like hand scooped over soft serve). I saw the fresh cookies and knew I had to go for one of these…

A chocolate chip ice cream sandwich with vanilla ice cream. I have never had one at the Bakery on Main Street (Magic Kingdom), but my guess is this is just as good. The cookies were cooked perfectly. A little bit of crunch, but soft enough to bite without the ice cream spilling out everywhere.

http://gallery.me.com/jennifer.mcsparran/100017/P_5/web.jpg?ver=12454238920001

DH ordered one scoop of chocolate chip and one of butter pecan in a waffle cone. He devoured the entire thing. I assume he loved it!

I'm back. The cruise was amazing and soooo relaxing. We were so sad to say goodbye to the Magic today. However, there is so much to report. The food was great and, I thought much better than our November 2006 cruise. The food wasn't bad then by any means, but has only been improved upon.

I still have to review our last dinner at WDW prior to the cruise. We had planned on going to House of Blues, which is one of our favorites...but, we just didn't feel like having a full sit down dinner. We knew we would be eating so much within the next week and opted for Wolfgang Puck Express again!

I knew exactly what I wanted. I saw pictures of it on DIS and decided on Rigatoni with Chicken Bolognese. I walked in, saw it on the menu and ordered and was told they did not have any. WHAT? You ran out?...Nope...they just took it off the menu. Turns out they have made some changes, but the printed menus have not been updated yet.

Well, I am sure you all know what it is like to have your mind and stomach planning on one thing and then having to make a quick decision. This is what happened...

http://gallery.me.com/jennifer.mcsparran/100017/Wg_1/web.jpg?ver=12461443070001

Yep, the same chicken tenders and fries as last time. The chicken tenders were still wonderful and served fresh and hot. The fries however, were old, cold, and hard. I couldn't eat them. Wolfgang Puck was great and replaced them for me. I just had to mention it to someone bringing out the orders. Soon enough this arrived...

http://gallery.me.com/jennifer.mcsparran/100017/Wg_2/web.jpg?ver=12461443540001

They were hot, fresh and crisp. So glad they replaced them without any hassle.

My DH wanted pasta and decided on the Spaghetti and Meatballs.

http://gallery.me.com/jennifer.mcsparran/100017/WGP%20pasta/web.jpg?ver=12461442350001

He thought it was good, but different. I tasted it and did not like it at all. The flavor is much different than what you would expect.

His meal also came with a side salad, which he gave to me. This was probably the best Caesar Salad I have had in a while. The dressing was light and lettuce crisp. The croutons were crunchy and had a nice garlic flavor.

I've never gone into Fountain View since they changed over to ice cream, but now I'm jonesing for your cookie sandwich. :lovestruc

We go every trip, but this is the first time I saw the ice cream cookie sandwich on the menu! It is usually pretty empty and easier to get ice cream on a hot day as compared to Main Street at MK! DH is also picky and likes waffle CONES (not bowls) with hand scooped (not soft-serve) ice cream. Fountain View is one of the few places have has the combo.

OMG that ice cream looks delish!

It was. :)

I am so glad you guys enjoyed your meal at RR, wish I could say the same! Glad your DH listened to you and avoided the pasta! :rotfl: In theory the dish sounded very good, I could see why he wanted it!

The picture above is from Iggy's, but R.I. has so many great Fish and Chip places! Now that I am live in CA, no one knows real Fish and Chips. When I talk about clam cakes people say, "Oh, like a crab cake?"...(shakes head).

The next portion of my dining reviews will be Disney Cruise Line food. I know this is a WDW board, but I figured no one would mind reading more about food here.

We were aware of and informed by our serving team that they were rolling out all new menus this cruise. Our server told us they started some of the new menus last cruise, but were changing over them all this cruise. I was excited to try some new things and see what I thought about the changes. If you are interested in seeing the new menus, I took pictures and posted them here. http://disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2214851

Please note that I did not take pictures of Topsiders, breakfast food, or food up on deck 9. I strictly stuck to longer sit down meals.

Our assigned dinner rotation was 8:15, LAPLAPL

Day 1 – Embarkation Buffet/Lumiere’s Rotational Dinner

Upon entering the ship, we made our way to Parrot Cay for the Embarkation Buffet. I was not that hungry and only got one plate of food. Pictured below are Spaghetti and Meatballs, which was pretty good. I skipped the meatballs and only ate the pasta. Rice, which was wonderful. Very light and I believe it was basmati rice (my favorite), a cold pasta salad...I wasn’t a huge fan of this and didn’t eat much of it. Too much of a vinegar taste. Also on the plate were roasted potatoes (very good) and sweet and sour pork (not good). Overall, decent meal, but not the highlight of the trip by any means.

http://gallery.me.com/jennifer.mcsparran/100021/Embarkation%20buffet/web.jpg?ver=12457228910001

For dinner on the first night, we were assigned to Lumiere’s. DH and I ended up getting the chicken noodle soup for our appetizer. This is on the kid’s menu, but I love Disney’s chicken broth and had to get it. It was served very hot (which I like), and tasted as wonderful as I remember. The noodles were Mickey shaped, which is always a plus. There were plenty of veggies and chicken in the soup as well.

http://gallery.me.com/jennifer.mcsparran/100021/Lumiere%27s%20Dinner/web.jpg?ver=12461444190001

Next for me was the Market Green Salad which was described as cherry tomatoes, cucumbers, peppered goat cheese, and a Raspberry Vinaigrette.

http://gallery.me.com/jennifer.mcsparran/100021/Lumiere%27s%20Dinner_1/web.jpg?ver=12461444320001

The salad was delicious and full of flavor. The dressing was great and complimented the goat cheese well. It was light and refreshing, which was great since I had this next…

http://gallery.me.com/jennifer.mcsparran/100021/Lumiere%27s%20Dinner_2/web.jpg?ver=12461444610001

This is a three-cheese mac and cheese with lobster and shrimp. This is an item added to the Lumiere’s menu. I have to say it is a welcomed addition. There was not much on the previous menu I liked.

The cheese was more of a sauce than a baked pasta, which made it feel lighter. The server still joked that it was only 5000 calories. Haha. The pasta was cooked al dente, which is how I like it. The lobster was tender and I liked how it was placed on top, rather than mixed in the sauce. It allowed me to enjoy the lobster by itself or take a bit with a noodle. I wish I could have another bowl of this right now! I should also mention that the meal tasted like it was created fresh. The sauce was not congealing and it was hot rather than just warm. A change welcomed this cruise. I remember thinking everything was served warm last cruise. I like my food very hot when served.

DH went for the beef option on the menu. Tonight it was Grilled Beef Tenderloin with Olive-Oil mashed potatoes, bacon-wrapped green beans, and Madeira Mustard Sauce. He thought it was pretty good. I tried a piece and thought it was okay. He likes his meat cooked medium-well to well done and this was definitely well done. I prefer more medium cooked beef. There has been a lot of discussion on the DCL boards regarding the use of sauces on the new menu. As you can see here, the sauce is under all the food. It can easily be left off the plate. :)

http://gallery.me.com/jennifer.mcsparran/100021/Lumiere%27s%20Dinner_3/web.jpg?ver=12461445030001

For dessert, we both had the Grand Marnier Soufflé with Vanilla Sauce. We both thought that this was very tasty but doesn’t compare to the chocolate soufflé at Palo. It was served fresh and very hot. I like that they give you the sauce for your own distribution.

Oh yum! I loved all the cruise food porn! Glad you had a great time. :)

I thought the lobster macaroni looked decadent, and well done....that just ruined a good piece of beef as far as I'm concerned. ;)

I'm looking forward to the rest. Yum.

Thanks so much for posting the food pic's and Magic's new menus! We are doing our own "land and sea" combo and are really looking forward to seeing the new items on the Magic. Your pic's are helping with some hard choices for WDW and DCL! Lobster Mac looks so yummy!

looking forward to your DCL food reviews. Looks good so far! We are very simple people with very simple taste and confess to being a bit worried about all the fancy things offered. Those first few pictures look fantastic. We also have two picky teenagers who just may abandon us if every meal was covered in sauce! Glad to see it under the meat!

Thanks for all the wonderful pictures and your review of the food. We will be sailing on September 12th on the Magic and I appreciate the info on the food. Looking forward to the rest of your report.:flower3:

Your welcome. I know how helpful it can be to see pictures, especially of the cruise food. Some of the items may sound fabulous, but come out terrible!

Thank you for your food reviews! :thumbsup2 Oh how I wish I was on a Disney cruise right now!

I wish I was back on the cruise!

If you get your husband on the cruise, he will probably want to go back over and over. That is how my husband was until he saw the Magic!

Just remember that you can ask for anything off the plate or exchange sides for something else. My DH has very plain tastes and he asked for plain mashed potatoes (instead of cheddar, or sour cream)...etc. He also asked for sauces to be left off the plate sometimes as well.

On our second day, which was at Sea, we checked out the Lumiere’s menu and thought it looked great. We would at this menu daily at lunchtime and would go in when we feel it would appeal to us.

I started with the chicken broth and vegetables. The broth was great and light. I enjoyed it being just broth with zucchini, carrot, and squash. It left room for the main course and dessert. DH skipped an appetizer.

http://gallery.me.com/jennifer.mcsparran/100021/09/web.jpg?ver=12462222170001

For his main course today, DH went for the burger. He said it was great and tasted much like the Sci-Fi burger. I didn’t try it.

http://gallery.me.com/jennifer.mcsparran/100021/09_1/web.jpg?ver=12462223150001

I did however try one of those french fries. They were served hot, crispy on the outside and nice and soft on the inside. I liked that they were nice thick cut fries and not the same fries served up at the fast food areas. (those are good too!)

I decided on the halibut served on a tomato dressing with broccoli and rice. I loved the halibut. It was cooked just enough to be flaky, but not dry. It was prepared with just a hint of seasoning. The sauce accompanied it well. I don’t like heavy sauces on fish at all! The broccoli was tender, but still had a bit of a crunch to it. The rice however was terrible. It was plain white rice seasoned. I am not a fan of mushy, sticky white rice. It was a scooped, cold glob. Wish I could have had the same rice that was in the buffet the night before. The meal was not a total loss though; the rest of the plate filled me up!

http://gallery.me.com/jennifer.mcsparran/100021/09_2/web.jpg?ver=12462223410001

For dessert, DH got this!

http://gallery.me.com/jennifer.mcsparran/100021/09_3/web.jpg?ver=12462223780001

Doesn’t it look simple, yet fantastic? It was a banana split with chocolate, strawberry, and vanilla ice cream. It was the perfect size for lunch with three small scoops and a tiny banana. DH loved it and ate every last bite! I didn't even get to try it. :(

That is okay though because, I opted for the chocolate macadamia nut-brownie pie with served warm al a mode. WOW, this was good! It had a graham cracker crust, which added the perfect texture to the smooth warm brownie. The ice cream helped even out the richness of the chocolate.

http://gallery.me.com/jennifer.mcsparran/100021/09_4/web.jpg?ver=12462224180001

Great meal, great service. ☺If you go on a cruise, please try Lumiere's for lunch at least once or twice. There are not a lot of people who take advantage of this restaurant, so it is usually very quiet and service spot on!

Dinner was at Palo tonight and I have been looking forward to the chocolate soufflé from here for a long, long time! We skipped the Golden Mickey's Menu this evening.

We had a 8:00 reservation and arrived around 7:55. We were seated within a couple of minutes by a window. The sun was setting, so it was great timing. I didn’t even think about that when booking on-line.

Our server, who was fantastic throughout the entire meal.

He welcomed us to Palo and told us he would be there to assist us throughout the night. He asked what we would like to drink. I went for the Tiramisu Martini, which looked like this…

http://gallery.me.com/jennifer.mcsparran/100021/Palo%20dinner/web.jpg?ver=12463969850001

This was the BEST drink I have ever had. I enjoy coffee/chocolate flavored liquors. This one, definitely topped the Espresso Martini I had here last time. It was so smooth going down. I was also impressed with the size of the drink. Love, love LOVED it. I ended up having two. I tried to get it made another night at my regular seating, but I ended up with more of a chocolate martini with a way stronger alcohol after-taste.

My husband stuck with coke and waters for evening. No photos of that. ☺

After bringing me my drink, the server went over the menu and explained everything to us. He let us know there we no rules and we could have as much as we wanted.

I decided to start with the Quattro Formaggi, with Mozzarella, Mascarpone, Gorgonzola and Parmesan cheese.

http://gallery.me.com/jennifer.mcsparran/100021/Palo%20dinner_1/web.jpg?ver=12463970300001

Please excuse the cut out piece missing, I was so excited when it arrived, I forgot to take a picture right away.

The pizza was fantastic. It did not contain any pizza sauce and I didn’t taste any garlic/butter either. All I could taste were the wonderful cheeses and oils blended together to make a perfect harmony of flavor. The mascarpone cheese was placed on top of the pizza right before being served and melted over each piece. I would recommend this pizza to anyone who enjoys strong cheese flavors.

I do have to say, I am glad that Palo decreased the Pizza sizes. The last time we ate here (2006), you received a small pizza about the size you would get at California Pizza Kitchen. This size allows you to order and eat a whole pizza instead of fulling up on one (because trust me, I would have eaten more of the Quattro Formaggi pizza if it was sitting in front of me).

My DH on the other hand, is not a fan of strong cheese. He opted for a plain cheese pizza. I didn’t take a picture of it, because I was too busy eating mine. I am sure it tasted great, but nothing like mine!

Next up was the pasta course. I asked the server if we could do half orders since we wanted to leave room for dessert. He said that would not be a problem.

My pasta was the special of the day. It was spaghetti pasta with pancetta in garlic and white wine cream sauce topped with freshly grated cheese.

http://gallery.me.com/jennifer.mcsparran/100021/Palo%20dinner_3/web.jpg?ver=12463971130001

The portion size was perfect and the taste great. The sauce was a bit heavier than I expected, but still contained the flavors I loved. The Pancetta was crispy and placed on top, rather than mixed within the pasta. I was happy about that since I wasn’t sure how much I would enjoy the flavor with the cream sauce. Turns out it was lovely and I ended up mixing it in anyway.

DH went for the Penne Arrabbiata, with a spicy Tomato and Basil sauce topped with Shrimp.

http://gallery.me.com/jennifer.mcsparran/100021/Palo%20dinner_2/web.jpg?ver=12463970720001

Dh loved this pasta. I took a bite and thought it was a bit too spicy (hot) for me. I don’t enjoy hot/spicy food as they upset my stomach. He had no problem finishing the dish though. Again, this was a half portion.

After the pasta course, we were served a palate cleanser. It was a lemon sorbet. I took a couple of small bites and thought it was refreshing and light. DH finished his and then took the rest of mine. I was starting to get full and wanted room for my main course and DESSERT!

http://gallery.me.com/jennifer.mcsparran/100021/Palo%20dinner_4/web.jpg?ver=12463971440001

We both chose the same main entrée, the beef tenderloin. Mine was served medium and my DH went for medium-well. It was served with rosemary potatoes and a red-win reduction.

http://gallery.me.com/jennifer.mcsparran/100021/Palo%20dinner_7/web.jpg?ver=12463972730001

The tenderloin was pretty good, tender and tasted great dipped in the red-win reduction. It wasn’t anything spectacular though. I have had much better tasting beef at Steakhouse 55 at Disneyland as well as in Pirate Cay on this cruise. It should be noted though that I thought my beef was much improved from last time I dined at Palo. Previously, the meat had a strong iron/liver taste. Looking back, I think I might have had a bad cut and should have asked for a new one.

I really dislike rosemary, so although I tried the potatoes, I couldn’t take more than one bite. I would have asked for another side, but had plenty to eat with everything else.

Now we move onto dessert. I have been waiting for this Chocolate Soufflé since the last time we dined at Palo. I loved it last time, but knew that this time I would pass on the vanilla sauce and just get the chocolate. Wow, it was even better! I also ordered a scoop the Hazelnut gelato to try, I ended up only taking one or two bites, but finishing the vanilla with the soufflé. DH also got the soufflé.

http://gallery.me.com/jennifer.mcsparran/100021/Palo%20dinner_5/web.jpg?ver=12463971730001

By the end of the meal, I felt like my stomach was going to burst. Then, our server brings over the lemon shot. I remember loving this last time. It is a combination of the lemon sorbet, vodka and champagne. I ended up only taking one sip because I was just too full. I couldn’t enjoy it. DH gladly downed his and finished mine!

http://gallery.me.com/jennifer.mcsparran/100021/Palo%20dinner_6/web.jpg?ver=12463972110001

I loved this meal. I think next time I might stick to the pastas and pizzas and skip the main entrée. I feel that Palo shines in those two areas and it was just too much food for me. I love the pasta and pizzas too much to give those up! I want to be less full by dessert next time so I can really enjoy the soufflé!

This evening, we were slated for Parrot Cay Dinner. This was one of my favorite dinners last time I was on the Magic. I loved the BBQ Chicken Wings they used to have. I knew going in that these were gone during a previous menu change though. I was hoping I would still find something great on the new one!

I started with a Caesar salad. It was pretty good, and was light, which is what I was looking for. The croutons were the highlight of the salad (I love croutons), and had a great spice to them.

http://gallery.me.com/jennifer.mcsparran/100021/Parrot%20Cay/web.jpg?ver=12466342530001

DH opted for the chicken tenderloins, which looked like this...

http://gallery.me.com/jennifer.mcsparran/100021/Parrot%20Cay_1/web.jpg?ver=12466342800001

DH took one bite and said they were gross. He is picky, so I decided to take a bite and see. They were pretty nasty... The chicken was had a slimy consistency to them. We felt like they should bring back the BBQ wings, as this is not a sufficient replacement!

For our main course, we both ordered the rib-eye steak. DH got his well done, medium for me!

http://gallery.me.com/jennifer.mcsparran/100021/Parrot%20Cay_2/web.jpg?ver=12466347770001

This is a picture of my steak. OMG, this was good! The steak had a wonderful rub, a delicate red wine sauce and take a look at that garlic butter!!! I ended up swishing the butter around the steak a bit and taking the extra off.

The twice baked potato that came with the steak was also delicious. The corn on the cob wheels made a nice addition, but I barely touched them. I was concentrating on the steak!

In the back right of the picture you can see the dining room's failed attempt at a Tiramisu martini I had a Palo the night before. It just wasn't the same!

For dessert, I chose the smore's cake with chocolate mousse and vanilla cake.

http://gallery.me.com/jennifer.mcsparran/100021/Parrot%20cay/web.jpg?ver=12466343290001

I thought this was going to be great, but it was just okay. I wish there was more white cake to even things out. I am not a huge fan of mousse desserts, so only ended up eating a couple of bites.

DH was full by dessert (he had a couple of drinks before dinner) and said he did not want anything. So, this is what came. :)

I am really, really enjoying this review!! I've only recently become aware of something called Seabourn ships, which sounds absolutely decadent. I've been trying to find trip reports for them, but I guess anyone who can afford to do this, can't write, and certainly can't write and report like you.

This evening was Pirate Night, which meant the special themed Dinner.

We took our seats and noticed the menu on the table. We opened them up and took a look. I was disappointed that the pasta envelopes were no longer on the menu, but found a couple of entrees that looked wonderful.

I decided before ordering that this was going to be a multiple entree evening. Therefore, I skipped appetizers and salads. DH started with The Buccaneer's Sun-Ripened Pineapple. which was served with coconut crusted bananas.

http://gallery.me.com/jennifer.mcsparran/100021/Pirate%20menu.jpg?derivative=medium&source=web.jpg&type=medium&ver=12469152280001

He LOVES pineapple and I can't stand it. I also dislike coconut (which the bananas were wrapped in), so I didn't bring my fork anywhere near this appetizer! DH said it was great and ate every last bite.

We both ordered Jack Sparrow's Barbecue Marinated Beef Short Ribs for an entree. I was hoping they would be just as good as the ribs that they USED to have over at Parrot Cay. Those were my favorite ribs ever!

http://gallery.me.com/jennifer.mcsparran/100021/Pirate%20night.jpg?derivative=medium&source=web.jpg&type=medium&ver=12469152960001

Sadly, this did not match up. However, it was a LOT better than the picture looks. The flavor of the BBQ sauce was sweet, but not overpowering. The meat was not fall off the bone, but not tough either. We substituted rice for potatoes. It was bastami rice and cooked well.

My second entree was Treasure of the Seas Grilled Shrimp and Seared Scallops served over strings of pasta with a tomato sauce. I love pasta!! So, it is always hard to pass up a dish when on the menu.

http://gallery.me.com/jennifer.mcsparran/100021/Pirate%20night_1.jpg?derivative=medium&source=web.jpg&type=medium&ver=12469153610001

The shrimp was great. I love butterflied shrimp that is seasoned well. I am not a fan of scallops, so I pushed those aside. The pasta was served hot (which is always a plus) and had a nice taste. It was cooked al dente which made me happy. The pasta was not my favorite of the trip (that comes later), but def. nice.

I am still amazed how well DCL makes pasta in huge quantities. Except for Animator's, it was always served hot and fresh and with perfectly cooked noodles.

Dessert was next, and DH was very disappointed with no Banana's Foster. he loved that last time we cruised. He decided on the Calypso ice cream sundae which contained rum raisin ice cream.

http://gallery.me.com/jennifer.mcsparran/100021/Pirate%20night_3.jpg?derivative=medium&source=web.jpg&type=medium&ver=12469154540001

It said it was good, but nothing special.

Nothing really appealed to me, so I decided to try the Sweet-Temptations and as a back up ordered one of these...

http://gallery.me.com/jennifer.mcsparran/100021/Pirate%20night%20.jpg?derivative=medium&source=web.jpg&type=medium&ver=12469155640001

As always the Mickey bar was great. The mini-trio of desserts looked like this.

http://gallery.me.com/jennifer.mcsparran/100021/Pirate%20night_2.jpg?derivative=medium&source=web.jpg&type=medium&ver=12469153920001

I took one bite of the white chocolate cheesecake and did not like it. I am not a fan of cheesecake, but have had one or two I really enjoyed (usually with strong flavors like Mocha or Espresso). The second dessert is the Triple Layer Gangplank Cake. I love chocolate, but this was pretty dry and blah. I remember that from last cruise when I ordered the large version. I was hoping it would be better this time around, but no such luck! Finally, the Rum Barbossa. This was actually pretty good, but would be better as a morning pastry rather than evening dessert.

They were nothing special, but the last dessert would have been great as a breakfast pastry.

Sorry it has taken me so long to update here! I am going to try to finish the trip out this week, so look back for many updates throughout the week! We just made our reservations for our November trip as well!

We decided to go to Lumiere's for lunch today. Both of us decided to get cheeseburgers. Nothing fancy or special, just a nice made to order burger!

http://gallery.me.com/jennifer.mcsparran/100021/Day%205%20lumiere%27s%20lunch/web.jpg?ver=12469155870001

The burger was served hot and hit the spot. I was only able to eat about half of it. It was very thick!

We got the same thing for dessert as well! The chocolate chip sundae!

http://gallery.me.com/jennifer.mcsparran/100021/Day%205%20lumiere%27s%20lunch_1/web.jpg?ver=12469156280001

This is a favorite of mine. There was cookie broken up towards the bottom of the sundae as well. A nice surprise!

Dinner this evening was at Animator's. The traditional rotational menu. This was by far the worst meal of the entire trip! We left hungry.

None of the appetizers looked appealing to us. Maybe we were in a picky mood, but we just didn't want anything fancy this evening! We ended up getting the mozzarella sticks off the kids menu. I don't have a picture for you, but I can tell you they were nasty! They looked good, but they were cold, dry and hard. We didn't eat more than a bite.

For our main course, we both chose the pasta dish. This was terrible! The sauce was very sticky...and it was cold. We did not have a problem with cold dishes the entire week, except this evening. Take a look at the picture. It looks pretty bad, but tasted even worse!

http://gallery.me.com/jennifer.mcsparran/100005/Animator%27s%20palate/web.jpg?ver=12469156740001

DH passed on dessert. He was not in the mood to try anything else. I decided on the trio of desserts offered for the evening. Everything was pretty blah and didn't do the trick!

http://gallery.me.com/jennifer.mcsparran/100021/Pirate%20night%20_1/web.jpg?ver=12469157230001

Overall, a very disappointing meal. We ended up not eating much and snacked a little later. We noticed people around us returning their dishes as well. Saw someone return the pasta dish and another a fish dish. The beef did look decent, but I wasn't in the mood for red meat.

More to come soon!!! Better food too!

I was excited because today we would be trying Palo Brunch. We decided to skip it last time we cruised and just did dinner. Starting at the bottom left corner of the plate was the "famous" school bread. I did not enjoy this at all! I remember it tasting hard and sour. It was also cold and I like morning breads warm.

Moving counter-clockwise you will next see a sticky bun. WOW! This was so good, so warm, so gooey, and full of flavor. I loved it! Right next to the sticky bun is a cinnamon roll. I did not bother with it once I tried the sticky bun! Finally, a crab claw. I love crab and although it was odd to have it on the same plate, it was very good. DH just had a sticky bun from the buffet. He wanted to save room for entrees. I still can't believe how much other people could eat! I just did not have the room to try much!

Up next was my pizza...

I went with a half pepperoni and half tomato/basil. Both sides were pretty good. I had one piece of each. It was not nearly as good as the four cheese pizza served at dinner, but still great!

Here is DH's pizza...

He decided on the half pepperoni/half Italian sausage. He LOVED the sausage side and thought the pepperoni side was just okay. I am pretty sure it was because he had such strong flavors on the other side of the pizza.

My main entree was the vegetable pasta...

This had a ton of flavor, but at this point I was already so full, I could only eat a few bites. Our waiter came by to see if I was not enjoying the meal. I told him I was, but just could not eat anymore. He told me to sit around and order something else when I had room. There was NO WAY I could eat anything else!

DH switched up two dishes and ended up with this...

This is the chicken parmigiana, which was supposed to be served over something else. I don't have the brunch menu, so can't remember what it was. Instead, he had it served over the veggie pasta. He liked the taste of the chicken, but wasn't hugely impressed with the meal. I tried the chicken and really liked it. It was much lighter than regular chicken parm. That may be why DH did not like it as much. He is a traditional chicken parm. fan.

That wrapped up our meal. No room for dessert for us! I am looking forward to going here again in November and trying some different things. I will def. have a sticky bun again though!

Next up was Captain Gala Dinner...

DH started with the Fresh Fruit Cocktail.

DH really liked this. I did not try it as I can't stand pineapple.

I had the Herb-Sauteed Shrimp.

This was great. I am picky when it comes to cooked shrimp and this was done well. The shrimp was coated with garlic butter which gave it great flavor.

This evening I decided to go with two entrees. I wanted to try the lobster, but have a back up as well since the lobster on my last cruise was very rubbery. Plus, the chicken and pasta sounded so good tonight and I hadn't had any all week! So, I ended up getting both!

The lobster was great tonight. Much better than last time! I didn't touch the rice since I had the pasta in the other main entree...

This entree was also very good. The pasta was fabulous...served hot, tender, and just the right amount of flavoring. It also wasn't too thick (I hate sticky sauces). The chicken was also very good. I really wish I could have swapped one of these entrees with Animator's Palette!

DH was not feeling adventurous tonight and just wanted something plain and simple. He went for the grilled steak, plain mashed potatoes and green beans. This is available every night even though it isn't listed on the Lighter Fare menu!

He said it was pretty good. Not a fantastic steak, but good enough!

Up next was dessert. Well our fantastic server delivered this to me before I ordered.

He made magic happen and had a chocolate peanut butter pie (no longer available on the menu) made for me! I was so excited and ate the pie right away. It was SOOOO good! He brought me half a pie to take up to my room for enjoying the rest of the cruise. It was a lot, but I made a huge dent in it by disembarkation!

I also HAD to have my other favorite dessert of the cruise, the lava cake! DH had the same.

As usual, this was warm, full of chocolate goodness and fantastic. Can you tell I love chocolate desserts? The vanilla ice cream made it perfect!

This was an amazing day of food! It made up for the night before for sure!!!

I forgot to mention that you can get baked or mashed potatoes as a substitution on any night according to our server. :)

Great food report! I loved reading it.

If you enjoyed the Fish & Chips at Raglan Road you may want to try Cookes of Dublin sometime. It is RR's quick serve location and is located to the right of the main RR entrance. They serve the exact same thing for much less. You don't get the wonderful ambiance of Raglan Road, but it's a great spot for a quick bite.

Thanks again for sharing!
