We're going to POFQ next week. Will it be a waste to take the old mugs? I'd rather not carry anything unnecessary, but if the new program has not been phased in I'll take my mugs.

Thanks!

Scroll down the board a little corndog. It's been reported that WDW is going to a length of stay type mug system. The new procedures will be phased in over the period of a few months.

Despite what some people were told by CMs, the program was always a length of stay program. There were signs from the beginning where the mugs were sold and anyone who emailed WDW was told it was a length of stay program. What they are doing now is trying to enforce it as length of stay, and probably a bigger part, prevent people from filling up their thermos, jugs and other assorted non-mug items.

Here's a link to one of the threads that discussed the change. (http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=215092)

There were definitely not signs where the mugs were sold when we there. They were sold at the register. You had to get them directly from the cashier and if there had been a sign the cashier would see it everyday and would certainly not tell a guest something to the contrary.

I've also never noticed signage indicating that the mugs were for length of stay only. It really doesn't make a difference to me. I'll buy new mugs if need be.

I don't mind buying new mugs every trip (and I was also told they were good forever)....but i do NOT want to have to stand in a long line to refill them!!
