I debated whether or not to do a pre-trippie with my sis Purplepeg and as I sit here on a beautiful sunny Winnipeg morning I decided why wouldn't I?
We are all heading back down in August, I think we're just suckers for heat and humidity or we're completely insane which is probably more accurate:eek:
The cast of characters will read like this....
Me - Queen of all things
Jasmine - my wonderful 16 year old daughter, my partner in this Dis obsession
Purplepeg - my much older and wiser sister
Geodoc - my BIL
Snow White - my gorgeous 8 year old niece who turns 9 in June
Mini Montana - my adorable 4 year old niece who is more like me than her mother would like....I think she's perfect!!!
If you followed us last year you know we went for 2 weeks and had a ball inspite of Fay trying to rain on our parade. This year Purplepeg and her family are going for 13 days on their very first DVC vacation and Jasmine and I are tagging along ( I have the best sister and BIL in the world) how lucky are we?? They depart on August 8 we leave on August 10. They are returning home on August 21 and Jasmine and I aren't returning until August 30!!! Here are the details......
Purplepeg and her family arrive on Aug 8 staying at SSR until Aug 15, moving to AKV on the 15th to the 21st then they depart for home sweet home. :worried:
Jasmine and I arrive on Aug 10 and will be staying with them until the 21st, then we'll be moving over to ASMu on the 21st until the 30th. Couldn't pass up free dining and hey we're already there!!!!:cloud9:
We are all travelling down on Westjet on that godforsaken 6am flight....oh who am I kidding we don't sleep the night before anyways, might as well be on a flight!!! We arrive in Orlando just after 1pm....of course on 2 different days but same flight times etc.
Jas and I both needed new passports this year so they are supposed to be here this Tuesday so we're patiently waiting for those, along with the August hours.....:confused3 Peg and I have already decided which ADR's we're doing everyday, however, if it's EMH we may need to change some things:rolleyes1
I have a few surprises up my sleeve for my beautiful Jasmine while we're there, but I won't be able to share them until we're home, because she's on here as much as I am....
Hmmm, trying to think if there's anything else I can share right now.....give me a minute, talking is my specialty. Oh yeah, Peg and I will be double teaming on this adventure for look for her comments too, she's always good for a laugh:laughing:
Oh yeah, one more thing,.....if you followed us last year you know Jas and I aren't the best flyers in the world so that's always good for some laughs.....last year we had to abort landing coming into Orlando, let's just say there were tears and upset tummies (mine). I honestly think that's why Peg and her family are flying out 2 days before us, apparently we scarred Snow from flying, well, she wanted to sit with us......:scared1:
I think that's it for now, we can make our ADR's on May 10 so will fill you in on those once they're done!!!!!

Well, well, well....I see I have to clear up a few misconceptions.
#1....I may be older but I LOOK younger than you:rotfl2:
#2....My poor baby Snow White doesn't like to fly anymore (completely your fault!) even though on her first flight she kept saying "up, up die!" because she couldn't say sky:lmao::lmao::rotfl2:
#3...acuurate, we are the best sister and BIL you have;) (the only ones you have but besides that little detail!)
Looking forward to reading along with your perceptions and then adding the real details for everyone:banana:
We'll have such a great time.
Hop on, I promise you it'll be a ride you won't forget:woohoo:

Oh Peg, isn't it how funny people perceive things so differentl??!!
Anyhoodle, Jasmine's passport arrived today:cool1: Not sure what happened to mine, maybe it will arrive tomorrow:confused3 Mine was the condensed application and Jas's was the long one, oh well, that's the government for ya.
Other than that nothing else to report, than it is 19 degrees and beautiful and sunny. I have all the windows open and housework doesn't seem such a chore when you have nice warm air coming through!!:thumbsup2

We are making our first batch of ADR's on Sunday so will post those once their confirmed!

I'm reporting for duty as official understudy in case anyone backs out!
You should have PM'd me I would have been here sooner.
Let's see if you're doing down from the 8th to the 30th (combined) then I figure according to how long it took you to finish the other reports (or not finish them) we'll be celebrating mini M's high school graduation when you finish this one.
I'm in anyway.

See the difference this year is....I have the internet, so I can post everyday!! The only thing I don't know how to do is post pictures, which I'm sure can't be rocket science:confused:hang on, I have a 16 year old daughter.....I'll just get her to figure it out. She may have had to program my Blackberry for me:rolleyes1
Too bad there's no chance we'll run into you in MK again this year:sad1:

I ordered our last 7 day pass from airmiles today:cool1:
I was short about 30 when I ordered the first 3 so had to wait....thank goodness for 7X your airmiles when buying prescriptions;)
The other 3 arrived within 5 days of ordering them, I was actually shocked when they came that quickly:)
Once we get there I am going to add on the park hopper and two of them I will add on 3 days to make them 10 day apsses, shouldn't be very much money is my understanding,:woohoo:
As I am typing this I am looking out the front winter to big fluffy snowflakes falling....IT'S MAY.....ok I'm ok now I think:rotfl2:

It's raining cats and dogs here. Better than snow though.
We ordered our seaworld passes from airmiles last year. They came really quickly too. Dh used to put all his business expenses through the credit card so it was easy to rack up the miles.

You'd think so wouldn't you....but no!!!:confused3 Only in Winnipeg is right, if you don't like the weather wait 5 minutes, well I waited all day and it didn't change anything:laughing:
With all the flood waters I can't imagine what the mosquitos will be like this year.....I don't even want to think about it:eek:

Thanks for the Mother's Day wishes:worship:
I sit here on hold for the last 49 minutes waiting to get through for dining ADR's:scared1:At this rate we won't be eating anywhere:rolleyes1
Cross your fingers for us, I can't believe I've had to wait for so long. When I was first connected they said it would be 30 minutes:confused:Anyway....Thanks again for the wishes.
I was holding a garage sale in the snow yesterday:sad2:I did well considering there weren't as many people as I think there would have been if it had been sunny. I had to crawl in the tub when I was done I was so cold, any way I have warmed up and am really enjoying getting up so early on Mother's Day to sit on hold for an hour!
Good wishes to all the other Mother's out there:love:

I haven't completely finalized our last 9 days....:rolleyes1 When Peg and I were looking at the park hours calendar, I noticed that it actually changed the last week of August, so I need to sit down and make sure everything still works. I can call on May 23 for our ADR's for those final days, so I am looking forward to that!!!!:yay:
I got Jasmine all hooked up on here, so you'll be hearing her 2 cents worth in the near future....she may have a dry sense of humour like her mother...:confused3
Well, it's time to change the :laundy: best get at that......

05-20-2009, 01:39 PM
It's been a few days since a update.....Jasmine and I headed down to the good US of A for a shopping trip, we do this probably half a dozen times a year. Jasmine loves loves loves Abercrombie and Hollister....me not so much, good lord those stores are expensive. She gets frustrated when I head straight for the sales racks.....hey, when she's paying she can go to the front of the store and pay full price:rotfl2:
We went with my friend and her daughter, it was supposed to be just Brenda and I but I am still not sure about leaving Jas alone at home for 2 nights. I know, everyone keeps telling me "she's 16 and a half" stop babying her.....these people don't have children I might add:confused3
I hit Target, my fav store. Love getting all my toiletries here and food products we can't get at home. :cloud9: We did a considerable amount of damage this trip, taking a teenage girl is always expensive:eek:
She is all set now for cloths for our trip so I am happy about that. The only thing she still needs....err...wants is another bathing suit. I personally thing 2 is sufficient, but she thinks she needs 3:scared1: I told her she can go to the mall here with her friends, try stuff on (what I like isn't what she likes) then call me and I'll come down once the choices have been narrowed down:rolleyes1
We can call for our last 9 days on dining on Saturday morning, so I will be up bright and early doing that....wish me luck:wizard:

I got up this morning and made ADR's for the 19th and 20th. We were successful in getting Whispering Canyon on the 19th and O'hana's on the 20th. :lovestruc
I am going to try....err....I mean I am going to finish my planning for the 21st to the 30th tomorrow, considering I have to call on Saturday morning.:rotfl: Gotta love getting up at the crack of dawn on a Saturday..... Who am I kidding, I LOVE IT!!!
When Jasmine and I were in Fargo shopping this past weekend, she made fun of me everytime I said something about her cloths, she thinks I have planning problems, or obsessions as she calls them.....I personally don't think it's a problem:thumbsup2
I ordered the Heys Packing Cubes from the shopping channel last week and they were waiting for us when we arrived home:love: Jas just shook her head:cutie:
I laid out all her shorts and tops this morning to try and get my list started for packing....we have laundry facilities, but I don't know how I feel about doing :laundy: while I'm on vacation. I know you may find this hard to believe but she does have enough cloths for the 3 weeks were gone....I on the other hand do not......surprised?????
I will let you know how my ADR call goes on Saturday morning......:yay:

I'm a huge fan of doing laundry at Disney. Of course it involves a good book, an alcoholic drink and lying by the pool. It seems all the Disney laundry facilities seem to be by the pools anyway. But each to his own.
I don't think you were wrong to take your 16.5 year old with you. Two nights is a long time. I can imagine the danger I could have gotten into at 16 if I was left alone for two nights.
Isn't it a great feeling to get those ADRs under your belt?

Thanks for sharing the laundry secret with me.....nothing like a good cocktail by the pool:cloud9:
It's not so much Jasmine that I worry about as it is her friends and acqaintances finding out she was home alone, party time at our house I am thinking:rolleyes1 She is at cheerleading practice right now, so I was working on her packing list.....she just makes fun of me as I previously said, she doesn't understand getting things organized this early:headache:
Yes, having the ADR's done is huge, now I just have to finish up the last nine days, but I will work on that tomorrow!!!

I affectionately refer to her as a freak:lmao: She's already got her index cards done for the first part. Seriously, she has too, too much time on her hands.:scared1:I actually called member services today to do Whispering Canyon and O'Hanas and got terrible times only to find out Queen had already done it. Should have known she'd be on top of it:rotfl2: So guess I'll be cancelling my times.
I had a friend who has a daughter who works for Disney offer to have a playdate with the kids so dh and I can go out to dinner with no kids! I'm seriously considering it but concerned too. What if they misbehave, or she doesn't watch them as closely as I would? I know, mother paranoia but all viable concerns.
Thanks for all those who are posting.:worship: We sure appreciate it. :woohoo:

Couple of new and exciting things to tell you all about!!! First off, my BFF, Brenda, and her daughter Kayla will be flying down to WDW on Aug 22 to join Jasmine and I for our last nine days of vacation:cool1:
For those of you that read our report from last August, Brenda is my friend that comes to my house, irons my cloths, and packs us for our trip. She is a genius when it comes to packing.....she is going to go and pack Purplepeg and her family too.:thumbsup2 I told her, if she's offering, accept!!!! It really does make it easier to get last minute things done, especially when you have to work right up until departure day:rolleyes1 that would be me not Purplepeg.....I always tell her she's a kept woman (only because I'm totally jealous)
The next exciting thing to tell you is we made our last 9 days of ADR's today:cool1::banana: We are not having all our meals with Brenda and Kayla as Kayla is a vegetarian and Shanleigh loves her beef!!!! So we decided to keep everyone happy we would go where everyone wants to go and if that means splitting up, that's what we would do. So here is the last nine days!!!;)
Aug 21 Purplepeg and her fam leave us:sad1:and Jas and I go to Raglan Road
Aug 22 B and Kayla arrive and we all go together to Planet Hollywood
Aug 23 Jas and I go to Sci Fi --B and Kayla go to Cap'n Jacks
Aug 24 Jas and I go to Coral Reef -- B and Kayla go to Rose and Crown
Aug 25 all of us to Les Chefs du France
Aug 26 all of us to Kona Cafe
Aug 27 Jas and I to Wolfgang Pucks -- B and Kayla to Yak and Yeti
Aug 28 Jas and I to Tutto Italia -- B and Kayla to Whispering Canyon Cafe
Aug 29 All of us to Big River Grille and Brewing
Aug 30 we fly home:sad1: to :laundy: for me and :teacher: for Jasmine
I will post our daytime schedules tomorrow - hopefully - we're heading over to Brendas to sit by the pool and have dinner :cloud9: I love when someone else makes dinner on Sunday:worship:

It's wonderful that you can agree not to agree. That's the best kind of friend.
Glad the early morning call proved itself to be worth the break in sleep after all. Your ADR's look great. Are they all for dinner? Specifically I was thinking Kona and Tonga toast for breakfast.
Dinner by the pool sounds fab. Not quite that warm out here yet but getting there. It's just all these darn mosquitos you have to put up with.

They are all for dinner, she doesn't like to waste time for breakfast in the morning and gets more out of dinner for her money.
Yesterday and today were the first nice days we've had here since last summer. It's been so flipping cold here they been able to larvacide more of the standing water because it hasn't been warm enough for the darn things to hatch yet:woohoo:

Yes all for dinner, I wanted to do Kona for breakfast but that was one of the compromises I had to make:eek: I have never had tonga toast....maybe someday:rolleyes1
I was a beautiful day here today, had the best time!!! Jasmine got quite a lot of color today, I kept harping about the sunscreen so she is a very nice brown!!!! No mosquitos yet.....but let me tell you when they hit, it is not enjoyable!!!!

No mosquitos yet.....but let me tell you when they hit, it is not enjoyable!!!!
Well, they've hit here in Ontario. It was beautiful out this weekend too. Supposed to rain just in time for me to take my kindergarten class on an outdoor field trip to the Outdoor Education Centre. I'm trying to convince Dh to come and help out with my class but he already went went twice last week with Cindy's (DD8) and Jedi's (DS6) classes. He's covered in bites on his ankles and wrists. He wore a bug hat and long sleeves but his work gloves left some wrist exposed and he should have choosen his boots over his hiking shoes. He thought socks would stop the mosquitos. Silly man.
It's been so flipping cold here they been able to larvacide more of the standing water because it hasn't been warm enough for the darn things to hatch yet
I thought this was outlawed now. Our municipality used to spray for mosquitos but the chemical backlash was considered too high to downplay the risks of diesease.
I have never had tonga toast....maybe someday
You know it's not that expensive and Kona is not that busy in the mornings. You should head over there some morning around 10 after you've done a few rides in the park and get one. Just be ready for the sugar high.
Queenofallthings
05-25-2009, 10:39 AM
Nope, not outlawed here.....you can call the city and they will not spray around your house but I can't remember the exact specs on that.
I never thought to run there in the morning.....great idea. I checked out the prices of Kona, and even paying OOP, not bad at all!!!!

Jocelyn....not so much and you would think this would be a clue to me about her driving ability wouldn't you...but nope doesn't register:eek:
So now we're done the parking we move on to the driving....good god was I terrified! Again, you would think I would clue in to her lack of experience when she asked me which way to turn the wheel to go right:rolleyes: To make a long story short she almost killed us:mad: Now normally I wouldn't be angry but when you have to scream and grab the wheel to avoid a head on collision, I don't know....made me a little angry....but only because she said "I'm not as dumb as you think I am.....I may have lost it at this point. It's not about being dumb, it's about common sense...you don't steer into oncoming traffic, or is it just me????/:rolleyes1 So when i reach over to grab and steer away from certain death, I feel a horrible pain in my hand!!! I make Jasmine take over the driving, drop her friend off at home, and tell Jas, I think I did something to my hand.
When I got up yesterday it was purple and really swollen, I'm thinkin,....this can't be good:sick: Drop Jasmine off at school and off I go to the minor injury clinic......
I wait for 6.5 hours, 3 x-rays to confirm what I thought all along....yup broke 2 bones in my hand!!!!!:rolleyes1 I have a cast!! Never had a broken bone in my life....well today I'm finding it ain't easy having one of these things!!!!! The doctor said to come back for a follow up next week, so here I m thinking, that will be to get the cast off:rolleyes: My BIL informs me, nope, they will be putting a permanent one once the swelling has stopped:confused3 It comes in very handy having a Doc in the family.
So, it has taken me a while to type this installment.....this hunt and peck typing style is hard:headache:
I will keep you updated, I want to get our full itinerary on here, it may take awhile. Maybe Jasmine can do the typing and I'll do the dictating!!!:rotfl2: Wait until she realizes she has to do most of the housework now:thumbsup2

Jasmine driving, how can that be, it seems like yesterday she was standing by mom and dad's pool buck naked asking if geodoc and I wanted a gummy worm:rotfl2:I politely pointed out that she was naked (because she was in the middle of getting ready to put her bathing suit on and was only 4 at the time) and she replied "I KNOW, but do you want a gummy worm?":lmao::rotfl2:Gosh she was cute.

The school year is quickly coming to a close..... I am still in denial that Jasmine is going into grade 12 in the fall:rolleyes1 We attended the sports awards banquet last evening as I received a letter from the school saying that Jasmine would be receiving an award:worship:
We had a beautiful dinner prepared by the kids in the Food Services Department at Jas's school....so yummy:cloud9: Then we all proceeded into the gym for the actual awards.....Jas won for hours logged for sport...she is on the cheerleading team and loves it....
Here is the team after they placed second at the Provincial Championships, Jas is top row almost dead centre
http://i590.photobucket.com/albums/ss349/Queenofallthings/n588485096_2768132_2147051.jpg
Jasmine and her BFF Breezy before we left for the banquet

Aren't they gorgeous...Breezy entertained us all evening, she is so funny
http://i590.photobucket.com/albums/ss349/Queenofallthings/002.jpg
http://i590.photobucket.com/albums/ss349/Queenofallthings/004.jpg
We were so proud of this team, they came from dead last to second in a matter of 6 weeks. The last competition before provincials was horrid, the night before the girls had a last minute practice and Breezy broke her collar bone:sick: They were trying to re-arrange stunts, positions etc - and the girls were devastated when they placed last. To rally and place second...well let's just say all of us mom's may have been bawling!!!!:confused3:confused3
Exams start the week after next but Jas only has to write one, Biology and it's on the Friday so she can focus all her attention on that one subject. She is an honour student so I'm not concerned at all:rolleyes1 Now, having said that....she gets very stressed, and guess who suffers, that's right, the mama:headache:
Oh well' I guess we take the brunt of it,

Hi Queen!!! Thanks so much for letting me know you'd started a pretippie!!! I've been soooooo swamped and this boss I'm working for now is such a b with an itch! She just KNOWS every time I'm goofing off! Can't get away with nuttin'.
Y'all appear to be suckers for heat, humidity and hurricanes!!!
Snow White!! What a perfect name her!!!! With that dark hair and those beautiful features she's definitely the fairest in the land!!! And y'all make sure you tell her I told you so. I know how y'all like to traumatize that poor child!!!
Can't wait to hear about the surprises for Jasmine!!! Of course, knowing y'all, she'll need a shrink after your surprises! :-)
Peg!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh, this is gonna be such a fun trippie!!! Can't wait to hear all the stories from BOTH perspectives!!!
You just *think* she was saying die because she couldn't say sky. I'll bet Queen had already found a bedtime story book about plane crashes to read to her!
:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: @ diamond re MM graduating before we end the TR!!! Yeah!!!!!!!!!!!!!
OMG!!! 4 pages in a month???????? Wow...this sure is different from Peg's TR
"When she's paying..." Amen to that!!! We found some jeans all messed up the other day. Looked like bleach did it. For a while there I thought EM#1 was trying to make his pants look all cool and stuff. Remember how they did a while back with all the holes in them! Whew!!! At least they don't do that now (though getting him to keep a freakin' belt! around his waist you think I was asking him to dig the Chunnel single handedly or something!!!!!!)
3 bathing suits!!!!!!!!!! What's she gonna do... change every 10 minutes?????????????????????????? Teenagers!!!!!!!!
So I did see Downtown Disney on there. Is that a Saturday? I may have to just invade your little party if KC lets me. I dunno though... he did take me last weekend and we had such a blast. It'll be my last trip to the parks for a while I'm sure.
Nope...I didn't leave the EMs alone last weekend either. The way they fight??? I wouldn't have a house to come back to!!
Ahhhhh, Queen! You go girl!!! Love the organization and planning!
You have GOT to have tonga toast!! It's so yummy!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Great pics!!
Oh that bit about the girl's brother is sooo sad. Teenagers shouldn't have to deal with tragedy like that.
OMG!!! Your driving teaching sounds like it was quite the thrill ride!!! Somehow I think the Grey Goose slushie would still find its way to your lips.
Oh, Peg... bet Jas just LOVES you telling that story!!!
Geodoc, I hadn't realized that you were the only one with a Y chromosome...don't know why I didn't... just didn't think. Are you insane?????????????
Peg, do you really think 2 or 3 bathrooms is gonna help? My guess is that Jas is in bathroom for a little while gettingthe look just right (basing that on her clothes shopping habits....she probably does the whole teen girl thing). And just think... y'all are gonna have twice the fun when yours are teenagers.
Have Jas send some of those study habits my way. I know a child (not saying names but his initials are EM#1) that could really use them!!!!
See y'all again soon! I know I'm going to love this trip report.

Well I went to the local Home Depot today and collected some paint chips. planning on doing some painting....NOT!
I hit Walmart too for a lime green poster board so the countdown calendar should be up soon for the kids....and us:cool1:
I've been trying to investigate about pre-ordering the photopass cd. There's a code out right now that makes it around $85 but I am unclear about the timeline. I understand it has to be ordered before 60 days is up and the code ends June 15 and that is more than 60 days from when we would order it. Does anyone have any advice on this? I've read you can call and ask them to extend it but it's not guaranteed. Anyone have any thoughts?
My other question is who know either where to find this or send me the link, what exactly is in the DVC's? I'm looking for what kind of pots, how many, blender? etc. I thought I came across that info once but then can't find it.:scared1: It was one of those "oh, I'll look at that later and now I can't find it". Any help would be appreciated.
I've been looking at those Vera Bradley backpacks too. Does anyone have one and are they worth the money? What size is best?
Now don't all answer at once, take turns and make sure everyone gets a chance:rotfl2:

Is it a video iPOD? If so you can watch "Snakes on a Plane" on the way home! :lmao:
Honestly, I can't think of a stupider premise for a movie. Definitely not something I've ever had a inkling of desire to watch.
But it sounds like a perfect flick for you on the way home. Just look at it this way... with a bunch of snakes on the plane you'll want to get to ground as quickly as possible no matter what that means.

That sounds right up her alley... and the employee discount won't help, right? I mean, I'm not saying your girl spends too much time on her looks or anything but she IS beautiful and any girl that needs THREE BATHING SUITS for a 2 week trip probably does spend her fair share of time in the bathroom primping, I'd guess. :rotfl2:
Oh, and while I have your attention, let's get one thing straight. Just because you cook it outside doesn't mean it's BBQ. You grilled hamburgers (and they look yummy... I want some!). BBQ involves rubs and sauces and, most importantly, slow cooking. Now, next time y'all try to get it right. I know, I know.. you can't help yerself. It's probably the term y'all were raised with. But having been raised in South Carolina where BBQ'ing is akin to an act of worship, I felt I just had to say something. :rotfl2:
Yes, I agree the girls do favor each other a LOT! Wow!!!

So I had full intentions of getting up this morning and getting a whole bunch of work done.....it's two hours later and I'm still reading all my subscribed thread updates and still in my pj's:scared1: It's been an insanely busy week so the thought of staying here with my computer is so tempting. I am currently typing with one finger because mini Montana just asked me to remove her bandaid from her knee and it was very traumatic for both of us:sad2: We tried waving a magic wand to remove it but that didn't work and then she said "maybe we should say please" but it STILL didn't work so we had to resort to distraction (Site Life of Zach and Cody is on) and a warp speed pull:rolleyes1
We had Snow White's kid party for her birthday on Friday night and she had such a great time. Of course that was after an afternoon spent outside at school dancing. She was twirling around and then twisted her ankle so we had drama as well as dancing. Doesn't she end up getting a sport wrap in flashy pink from Claire's from one of her friends as a gift?:lmao: She's been milking it for all it's worth! The dance afternoon is an annual thing and Mini Montana has as much fun as anyone there. It was so hot but so many mom's brought freezies and popsicles they were definitely hydrated or at least sugar loaded:woohoo:
Mini Montana had her stay and play for Kindergarten:scared1: on Friday morning. It is going to be a sad, sad day for her mommy in September:sad2:
As Queen mentioned we had our Father's day celebration yesterday here. We had a brunch and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The four of us went to see our local baseball team win a game last night. It was a very exciting game.
This week is the last piano lesson(party really), and last soccer for Mini Montana and practices for Snow White. It's also last week of school (except that they have to go next Monday is their last day.) Mini Montana finished preschool this past week. I cried, her teacher was amazing, we'll miss her.
I'm still trying to put summer clothes away. I believe summer finally arrived this past week. I didn't have to wear my winter coat to soccer this week and was swarmed with mosquitos on Thursday:eek:
I put up the countdown calendar yesterday. Mini Montana helped me glue. They were very excited to mark a day off. They like to do it first thing in the morning. I need to update the packing lists, start buying some supplies, and work on that Garden Grocer order. I also want to print out the daily park index cards and review what we want to do each day. We'll have to pull names again for order of rides each day. We usually let one child (and Jasmine is included in this group) pick the first ride of the day and then we start our day in that area of the park and go from there. There may be some coaxing if we need to to make our plans work. We all write down our must do rides and then the "gravy" rides. Sometims we get everyting done, sometimes not. We are pretty "go with the flow" people but need an outline before we go so we don't waste time anywhere arguing about who gets to go where and when. I find our children do better if they know what to expect and there are less tears. There is also the threat of no pool time if there is unacceptable behaviour occuring:woohoo::woohoo:It doesn't always work but every little bit helps. I don't want our holiday ruined by whining and arguing and that's just Queen:lmao:

We have the misting fans, and I am pretty sure we are going to head back for a swim/rest in the afternoons. Is that what you do with your guys?? Do you have any other tips for us?? Plus the hat question...DD hates hats, at best she may wear a bucket hat for a bit, is that a huge issue that she wears one?? She never really wears one here at all. She prefers to have her hair done with bows etc....lol She does wear sunglasses though. Thanks so much!

It's far too warm and sticky not too...by 1230 everyday we were headed back to the hotel, swim, have a rest/nap...shower change out for dinner and some rides after dinner. It is not like going in Nov/Dec where you can stay all day, but I personally like summer better. It forces you to take a break and actually relax:yay: I tended to be one of those park commandos....things have changed:lmao Never mind Mini Montana having a meltdown...Queen could easily have one if she didn't get her pool time:rolleyes1 See Peg, I can admit it.....
We only took misting fans to the park once, found them a pain to carry around but that's just us:confused3 I found going into rides/shows to cool down worked well for us.
Ahhhh, the hat issue. Between Peg's kiddies and mine, we've never had an issue with hats....Are you bringing/renting a stroller? We found that so helpful, when Mini Montana was tired she had the option to sit.
Hope this helps, I'm sure Peg will have a few opinions of her own.....
Are you guys starting to get sper excited??? Before we leave we will have to pick a day to meet for our cocktail:worship:

OK, I think I can post again on the DISboards (knock on wood!).
Sorry, HyperMommy, I call it BBQing too :lmao: I'm mighty good at it too, if I do say so myself
Sorry about the bandaid pull - quicker is better, no matter how you look at it! Poor little MM though :sad1: I hope SW's ankle is feeling better - no fun hobbling around, especially during the summer!
Oh, as for the flights, Gravol works wonderfully, in my experience. Makes sleeping onboard a whole lot easier :thumbsup2
Yay for a countdown calendar! Love to see a picture of it :upsidedow
My boys do better with some idea of what to expect too - especially Tigger. No schedule at all equals definite trouble here!
I've been thinking about the misting fans too - would they fit into our various park bags? I have a Heys Travelmate and both boys have fanny packs. I also have no clue where to even get a misting fan :rotfl:
Wearing hats hasn't been an issue here either - wearing hats in the sun is nearly as non-negotiable as wearing a helmet when riding anything with wheels here. Perhaps a hat with a fun strap would help make wearing a hat more pleasant for your dd, DisneyBrat? Now, sunglasses I have a tough time getting my boys to keep those on - dunno why :confused3
As for your awesomely low ticker countdown, I just have one thing to say:

Hi! Your trip sounds like it is going to be A LOT of fun!!! The exchanges between all of you are cracking me up!
Oh I am so glad you have wandered over here:worship::worship:You have an amazing group of followers on your tr so I am thrilled you have posted. Yeah we're a fun bunch too. I'm the most fun no matter what else you may hear/read. Hoping to pick up some tips about AKL from you. Did your kids do the kids club or any of the kid activities at AKL?
Sounds like everything is falling into place! :goodvibes We too have had a busy week, and it seems to continue into next week as well. I love the warp speed pulls of bandaids too! lol :rotfl:They work great for DD!! It sure has seemed like summer here finally!! :cheer2:Sunblock out and almost used a tube so far...lol I think we went from winter right through to summer! I have a question for you guys.:worship:..I haven't gone to WDW in the summer with a child, only with DH and me. So I was wondering how your kids take it? DD5 (will be turning 6 there) just gets kinda tired here from the heat. But I think she has a great tolerance to the heat/humidity.
I am thrilled that summer has finally arrived :banana:
Ah yes the heat and humidity question. I was obsessed last summer, I thought we were going to melt(particularly me):lmao:We brought spray fans but as Queen said they are heavy and we really didn't use them. We didn't put them in our bags because they leaked a bit. I didn't want to leave them in the stroller in case someone stole them. After a day or two we left them in the hotel. We did do the early morning and made sure to drink lots of water. Mini Montana is great about drinking water but Snow not so much. I bought the fancy bottle topper with straws because I thought that would encourage water drinking. Well, the water then tasted funny, kind of like the plastic of the straw even after I washed it, and then if the bottle wasn't empty it would leak when it fell over. I believe those ended up in the garbage:scared1: The hat thing, Mini Montana gets hot in her hats and doesn't enjoy wearing them when she's hot. half the time they were off because of rides. I think when we were walking from one place to another we had them wear the hats, otherwise they were off. The ride waiting areas are usually sheltered and often air conditioned so that helps, I put them in board shorts and rash guards so they could dry quickly if they got wet on Kali River or Splash etc. We did try and stay in the parks later a couple of days and it really didn't pay. By noon we were so done with the heat we would have lunch at the resort and then hit the pool even if it was only for 30 min and then A/C rest in our room. Back for dinner in the eve. It's still hot but the sun sets early so you don't have that to add to the heat. Drink lots, do long A/C rides for breaks as well as pm breaks and have fun!
OK, I think I can post again on the DISboards (knock on wood!).

Did I miss something? Why couldn't you post? I have to post the countdown calendar. School is almost finished. Snow goes on Monday:scared1:can you believe that? That's her last day. I'm pretty sure there won't be very many kids there. We're heading to Fargo for some mother/daughter bonding time with instructions to her that she's not allowed to let me buy her anymore clothes! I finally put away all her summer clothes and she has plenty. I was so worried about the heat last year in Disney I bought so many tanks and shorts for them.
I never put the spray fans in our bags because of leaks. We really found them heavy and cumbersome.
PS Don't tell Hypermommy but I'm good at BBQ-ing too and it's not grilling:rolleyes1

We got to sit outside and watch a soccer playoff game yesterday:scared1:I don't think we got that wet in Tropical Storm Faye;)Then we were supposed to go to a Goldeyes game last night, yep cancelled. Okay, we gotta get this thing cleared up right here and now. BBQ involves mucho amounts of time (hours and hours) of slow cooking, usually some rubs (we won't even talk about how much fun it is to rub the spices into the raw meat) and several layers of BBQ sauce (mustard based, of course!). So now y'all tell me exactly how it is that y'all make BBQ.

Oh you are so funny....no I'm not going alone, I'm taking Snow White with me. Just a girls trip. I believe in Canada BBQ is a verb as in we BBQ our food and the grills are called bbq's so that's what I'm sticking with. I understand the whole hours and hours and rubs etc.
Have you decided if you can, in fact, meet us? If I cross my fingers will that help?

Sorry to hear you are all sick Disneybrat. That's no fun.
Snow White and I returned last evening from our girls time away in Fargo. For some reason this trip I really noticed the Fargo accent.. I don't know how many other times I've been there but this is the first time I noticed. We had a lovely time. Shopping, eating, pool time and I got to read some of Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince. I wanted to re-read it since it's coming out soon. The Canadian dollar not being at par any more really cuts the shopping budget. That and Jasmine's boyfriend wanted some cologne from Abercrombie at $50 US! I seriously need to look at bifocals or progressives because I had my contacts in that day and had to get Snow White to read the price tag..I could only only see some blurry black stuff on the bottom of the box:scared1: I hate to get old....er. Snow White took some really great pictures when we were away. We will have to post them on here. She had lots of fun in the pool.

Whew, it's been a few days since either Peg or I have posted....how odd is that, we usually have something to say:lmao:
Firstly.....WE LEAVE ONE MONTH TODAY:cool1: This time next month we will be boarding out flight in Toronto....Jasmine will probably be crying and I'll be wondering if they'll give me a cocktail when I get on the plane:lmao:
Got my cast off on Monday:cool1::cool1::cool1:only to find out once they xrayed that yup,,,,still broken.:confused3 Anyhoodle, he didn't put another one on as he said he was leary of immobilizing it again and to just try and exercise it to strengthen the muscles again....ok!!! I was just happy to have use of both hands again. But, loser that I am, smashed it as I was getting into the car....a few tears may have escaped my eyes:sad1: Oh well, he told me no strenuous activity....I'm a mom, what is he thinking:confused3 I got back on the 28th for another xray, but no matter what, I am not going to WDW with a cast on my hand, I'll just suck it up:rolleyes1
So spent yesterday morning at Purplepegs going over our Garden Grocer list, took us a LONG time to do this. Oh well, one more thing to stroke off our lists. Speaking of lists, I really need to get the binder out today or tomorrow and see what I have left.
Oh I have some sad news....my friend and her daughter have cancelled their trip with us:sad1: B's mom is now in pallative care and we're not sure how long she has, it wasn't a hard decision to make....there will be other trips in our future I'm sure. I do want to re-look at the schedule we had done for the 4 of us as I may make some changes. Jas and I are taking the 21 and 22 as pool rest days after Peg and her family go home, as the 22nd was when they were to arrive. We also had a pool day scheduled our last week so I think we might do Blizzard Beach instead.....I'll wait until Jasmine gets out of bed and run this:idea:by her
I think that's about it for now.......

Oh I have some sad news....my friend and her daughter have cancelled their trip with us:sad1: B's mom is now in pallative care and we're not sure how long she has, it wasn't a hard decision to make....there will be other trips in our future I'm sure.
Hugs to your friend, how sad
I do want to re-look at the schedule we had done for the 4 of us as I may make some changes. Jas and I are taking the 21 and 22 as pool rest days after Peg and her family go home, as the 22nd was when they were to arrive. We also had a pool day scheduled our last week so I think we might do Blizzard Beach instead.....I'll wait until Jasmine gets out of bed and run this:idea:by her
Sounds like fun to me! :cheer2:

Peg was going to have Geodoc give the GG list a looksy over before we sent it in, I haven't heard from her today so I'm hoping it was all good:thumbsup2
I have definitely made up my mind that we're doing BB, I think on the 21st, I don't know how crazy it would be on a Saturday, so I think for sure the Friday.

Boy we haven't been here for a while! had a great time in Fargo, I have to upload the pictures from Snow's camera. Today we were at Tinkertown(local small amusement park) with some friends and had a great time. Parking lot was packed but no real lineups. It was cool and being a Friday I think most people were headed to the lake. Score for us. 4 hrs later we headed home. I'll see if I have any pictures of the kids alone because we went with friends and I'm not sure she would enjoy her children on the net! The new Ferris Wheel is up and running and it;s not my favourite ride since I'm afarid of heights:scared1: I had to go on because Mini Montana is not tall enough. We were on for a long time:scared1:Anyway, also went to pediatrician today for annual weights and heights and Mini Montana needed her TWO before Kindergarten shots:scared1:How well did you think that went:confused3She actually did pretty well, I always explain to my kids about them before and she knew but seemed to have forgotten. As we left the playground this morning I mentioned that she was going to get two shots. She started crying and I in my infinite mother wisdom says there is nothing to cry about now, you can cry when you get them IF they hurt but no screaming! She did really well. Tinkertown afterwards certainly helped:banana:
Did we mention we all went to the Jonas Bros. concert here last week? It was lots of fun, MIni Montana was more excited thatn anyone. I forgot to bring a camera but Jasmin actually got up close and personal when the boys came out sign autographs:banana:I'll have to get some on here for you guys. I am really feeling the crunch now, I have to get my park cards done, the binder organized (everything is in a folder), update the packing lists, send in the Garden Grocer order, hopefully we didn't order too much:)
Queen is worried about our luggage getting lost moving resorts but I pm'd two people and they said it went very smoothly. Why pay for a cab when that money could be put toward a tropical alcoholic beverage:confused3 We have a baseball game (as spectators) this weekend but I'm hoping to find some time to update with pictures to tide you over:woohoo::yay:

Ahhh Peg, what I don't do for you....
Here are some pics from Jasmine's close encouter with the Jonas Bros. She called me from her cell and I thought she was being mugged...lots of screaming. All I could think of is I've left my baby in downtown Winnipeg to fend for herself.....nope....just 2 feet from the Jonas Bros is all:lmao:

I didn't think you would need captions.....I also don't want to bore you with too many, she did take 200 pictures:scared1: Sure takes you back to your first concert though:yay: She spent $40 on a shirt:mad:but it was her own money so what could I say:confused3
Now back to the matter at hand....our trip to the WORLD!!!! I am so uneasy about that luggage transfer from SSR to AKL:scared: I hope Peg fully understands if anything goes wrong I will torment her over it:lmao:
We decided that Jasmine and I are going to send our beach towels and bathing suits with Peg so when we arrive we don't need to wait for our luggage or load down our carry-ons, we can just go to the room, change and swim;)
Jasmine works today at 2 so I am hoping to get the binder together, index cards finished and finalize the packing lists, I'm sure there is stuff I still need to buy but can't for the life of me think what that is right now:rotfl2:

Got up bright and early this morning to rain.....I have to say I was a little excited, then I can sit on the boards for as long as I want and not feel guilt;)
I just finished looking at my list of stuff I still need to buy.....so I will be running to Walmart at some point today, or maybe tomorrow morning before my doctor's appt....we'll see. The list is longer than I thought it would be. Apparently not as organized as I like to think I am. :rotfl2:
I added clorox wipes....I thought in light of the H1N1, wouldn't hurt to wipe down the rooms when we get there......a little OCD maybe, but I'm ok with that. :rolleyes1 I also need to pick up small pringles, granola bars, gum, mascara, polusporin, new battery for the camera (goodness these little puppies ain`t cheap), a new memory card and refills on our meds which I ordered Saturday for pick up today. I thought about other snacks but when we went with Brenda and her family 2 years ago, we took a ton for around the pool....never opened one. With the DDP, I never feel like I need a snack, except I do enjoy a granola bar in the morning with my coffee. Speaking of coffee, because we're in DVC the first 11 days, we're bringing our Tim Horton's to make in the room. I read somewhere that the mugs are really small.....gee....I may have to go shopping when I get there to buy a new glass mug:rolleyes1
Jasmine is going to get all our hair products when she's a work today.....gotta love the discount:hug: Maybe I'll be a nice sister and check and see if Peg needs anything;)
I want to get this done today or tomorrow because Thursday morning I have to have surgery on my mouth.....no snide comments please, I`m not getting my jaw wired shut or anything:lmao: 5 years ago my dentist was doing a root canal and broke three instruments in the root:eek:not fun. This will be my second surgery to see if they can get the final 2 out. Last time, he could only get one, but they seemed to have moved a little so here`s hoping. I totally understand the wipes, we too will be bringing some! Queen-thinking of you today with your surgery! I hope it all goes well, and they get out those pesky roots!!! I truly hate dental work! I had my first cavaty when I was preggo with DD, and they wamted to try filling it, but it was too deep, so I had a root canal that also never worked and had to have it pulled! Not a good experience for your first cavaty!!! Especially with limited pain meds!!

Hope everyone is doing well.......
OK, your dentist left pieces of dental instruments in your gums?!?!?! :scared1: BIG hugs to you today, Queen, for him to get the other two pieces so you can be done with it!:grouphug:

Thank you my friend:hug: Yes he did, three files broke inside the root when he was doing a root canal.....he hasn't done another one on me:eek: It was a success, took longer than he initially thought by about a half an hour, but to be honest, I didn't care. I didn't care how much discomfort I was in, I just wanted to make sure they were out. He was able to get both out....I am thrilled considering this is the third try since it happened in 2001. I go back on Monday to get the stitches out, so all should be good.:cool1:

WE'VE MISSED YOU!!! So glad everything went well with your baby sister:hug: So glad you're back, but I'm guessing with that unexpected trip, the chances of you meeting us are pretty slim:sad1:

Thought I would pop in and say hi. Glad to see you back Hypermommy:woohoo:Hope all is well with sister:goodvibes
I printed out my index cards and packing lists this morning, found the ponchos, and water shoes and somehow ended up on here while I was eating my lunch! The girls are in camp this week so I have the days to myself to get organized and do the last minute shopping and some pre packing so I'm not running around like a chicken with my head cut off the week before.
Does anyone else get sad when going through their index cards and get misty eyed when they see the last day plans and we haven't even left yet:confused3:rotfl2:
So things to buy:
new runners for me
new crocs for Snow White
maybe new water shoes for Mini Montana (she has to try on the other ones first)
some surprises for the girls, maybe for the plane
hanger dryer thingy for bathing suits at the dollar store
and that's all I can think of right now.
Have a great day all!

I'm glad to hear someone else gets sad too;) I am enjoying the eerie silence without them. I haven't even turned on the radio or anything:happytv:I'm just all alone with happy Disney thoughts in my head:woohoo: The kids are exhausted because not only do they have camp from 9-4 which is all activities and walking to and from places, they have hour long swimming lessons from 7-8 every night this week. Needless to say they are crashing as soon as that head hits the pillow and so is their mom! Maybe they'll sleep in on Saturday:rotfl2:

Another update from our house.....;) Jasmine and I spent yesterday shopping for the trip....someone has wanted Lululemon pants for quite some time and her mean mother wouldn't buy them for her cause I don't pay $98 for a pair for me so why on earth would I spend that on my 16 year old:lmao: Anyhoodle, now that my little darling has a job, she decided she would splurge and she bought herself a pair yesterday, along with a jacket and headband (this is her plane outfit:cool1:) for a cool$230....I almost fell over!!! She also bought a new bikini, flip flops, and 2 new MAC eye shadows.:rolleyes1 What, you ask, did I get.....nothing!!! I really don't need anything, I want lots, but don't need anything:rotfl2: When we were done making a huge dent in Jas' wallet at the mall we called Peg to see if she wanted to meet us for lunch so off we went. She came prepared with her Disneybinder, such a good Diser!!! We had some discrepancies in two of our ADR's so we connected this morning and sure enough the 2 I booked we had better times so Peg went ahead and cancelled her two:confused3
The most exciting news of all though......the suitcases are out, opened on the spare room bed, and they actually have stuff in them:cool1: I packed everything I could.....toiletries, bathing suits, cover ups, shoes, dresses for Jas, shoe organizer, etc. I have a little moment everytime I walk by and see them:cloud9:
Jas is off to work today so I decided I should call and make our appts (Peg's family and us) for the private photo session. We decided on AKL as it would be easiest as that's where we're staying:thumbsup2 I had the most wonderful cast member....the magic began this morning:wizard: I was booking a half hour session for Peg's family and a half hour session for our family....he asked if he could make a suggestion and of course I said YES:yay: He explained because Peg is a DVC owner that she gets 20% off which brings the CD to $79.95....for an extra $25 you can add on more time and then we could all be together paying $100 instead of $200 for 2 separate bookings. He was wonderful.....I jumped at it, we figured then we can get some pictures of all of us together too, will make a wonderful gift for our parents for Christmas:grouphug:
Jasmine's boyfriend has volunteered to take us to the airport on departure day:banana: I really didn't want to ask him considering we need to leave the house at 3:45am. I heard him say to Jasmine the other day there "What am I going to do without you for 3 weeks:sad1: Ahhh to be young and in love:love: The one good thing is we are only a 10 minute drive to the airport and at the time of the morning, no traffic:woohoo Our return flight gets in around 11pm so not too bad for pick up either

Have you looked into a town car or limo, Peg found it cheaper to go with them depending on how far away you are from the airport. There using London Limos.

Well I spent today cancelling ressie's and talking on the phone. Booked the kids into kids clubs twice. I hope they enjoy them! It took quite a bit of time and then phoned member services to check on the size of the coffee pot (priorities you know). The cast member reviewed what was in the kitchen and she's reading out "mixing bowls, measuring cups and spoons, cookie sheets," then she stopped and said "what are they thinking, you're on holidays!?" I laughed so hard:rotfl2:I was thinking exactly the same thing! I also found out we have to be on the dining plan for the entire stay including the two days Jasmine and Queen won't be there:scared1:So to rectify that problem I booked us breakfast at 1900 Park Fare on the Sunday morning after we arrive.:yay:We didn't have any character meals booked this trip so that will be great and Yachtsman on Sunday eve takes two credits each. I was worrying about trying to use all the credits we inherited and Geodoc says "how much is the dining plan per day?" It comes out to $102 per day. He kindly pointed out we can't have a meal for the 4 of us for that much so stop worrying! How great is he:love: I think secretly he's just happy I don't involve him too much in the planning, he just likes to show up and say "ok, what are we doing today?" He just bonds with his gps and ipod touch and he's a happy camper:yay:

Wow, I can't believe Peg, Geodoc and the girls take off 2 weeks tomorrow:goodvibes I dropped Jasmine off at work this morning and headed over to Peg's just for a quick visit.
Yesterday Jasmine received her work schedule for the next 2 weeks and she only has next Thurs and Fri off and the following week only Thurs off:lmao: I actually wasn't laughing as I was writing it on the calendar and I realized her hair, manicure and pedicure appointments were all scheduled and now she was working:confused3 So we got on the phone and had to do some rearranging which isn't always easy.
Her hairdresser is an absolute doll and told her she would stay one evening and do her hair as she knew we were going on vacation....whew....one done two to go. She was able to get a pedicure where we normally go but no go on the manicure, so she's trying a place about a block from where we go. Hey, whatever works. She really wasn't concerned about the manicure only the pedicure and her hair. She gets bad ingrown toe nails so a pedicure is not a luxury for her:eek:
My appts are all still okie dokie:cloud9:
Other than those few changes, nothing new around here......

Latest updates from our house....Jasmine started getting sick on Thursday evening, just a cold, woke up yesterday and she sounded horrid. She jumped in the shower as she had to work at 930, we stopped at Tim's to get her some bottled peach juice (she hates drinking water so I figured any liquids besides an iced capp would be good) and she was off. I picked her up at 130 and she sounded a little better...even mentioned that she thought I might be right about the more you drink when your sick the better you feel:rolleyes:All I said is "better now than in 2 weeks when you have to get on a plane". Nothing like a head cold on a plane:sick:
I have been looking over our schedule now since Brenda and Kayla aren't joining us. We had booked Planet Hollywood and a few other ressies to places they have never been, so I am seriously considering if we should keep these or do some of our favs for a second time:confused3
I am also considering doing a Signature Dining Experience....either Citricos or Jiko's.....tried California Grill....no good, seems to be booked solid which I am not surprised at.
Jas works today at 2 so I think I might run into a few of the ladies stores and see if they have any good deals on end of season stuff. Don't really need anything, but a deal is a deal.

I'm a little behind in my posting.
Queen's getting awfully mouthy on here lately isn't she:scared1: The dining plan costs US $102 a day and we're eating your $80 a day times two!:confused3
Both the girls passed their swimming:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:
They were so happy:banana:Never did see hide nor hair of Queen at the pool. Missing out on her only neices swimming lessons:sad2: Luckily she has two more weeks to check in. I signed them up for another block of lessons.
We leave two weeks today!:dance3::yay::woohoo:The kids and Geodoc and I did sleep in today, actually Snow White has not awoken from her princess sleep yet:eek:
So two weeks today we'll be doing the following......enjoy!
Taking the limo to the airport.

Hi Queen, longtime lurker and admirer of your and your sister's reports. re california grill, i really wanted to try it when there in june but could not get a reservation. the conceirge advised me to take a reservation for the bar and it ended up being perfect. the bar is directly adjacent to the restaurant, had a number of families sitting there, and we had a window seat that had IMO a better view of the fireworks (which were at 9 or 10, check on this) than any of the restaurant seats, so consider doing this if you want to try CG!
PS the fireworks were spectacular and they dimmed the lights and piped the music in!

Well I am so glad you decided to join us.....WELCOME!!!!
You will never guess what happened this morning....I got an ADR at California Grill for our last night there:woohoo: I almost cried I was so happy, I can't wait to see Wishes from there:cloud9:
We usually spend our last evening in the MK and cry our eyes out when we leave, I can't imagine what it's going to be like up there;)
We were going to go to Raglan Road on the 21st, but I cancelled that and made an ADR at T-Rex and will just pay OOP for that one so then I'll have enough credits to pay for CG
Can you tell how excited I am:woohoo::lmao:

:welcome:suzcruz:welcome:So glad you came out of lurkdom:cheer2:It's nice to know there are other people reading.
We went to the beach today and actually had a 31 degree C day here.:cool1: I think it's our first for the summer:sad2::sad2:That is so sad. We are going to melt in Orlando, we have had no real hot days and only a couple of days with moderate humidity. Oh well, at least we'll get summer there, unless there is a repeat of last year with a tropical storm:headache: Lets not go down that road:headache:. Even with two applications of sunscreen Snow White got a bit burnt and Mini Montana just got browner. Mini Montana has Geodoc's skin and Snow Has mine....burns just thinking about the sun:beach:
So Queen's friend is coming to help me start packing tomorrow. Apparently I need the help according to Queen because of my back(chronic back pain that seems to be much worse these last 6 months). I think it's just her control issues:rotfl2:
I pulled out 6 dresses for each girl and I have all the other things like some snacks, toiletries, extra hangers all ready. We'll see what we get done:woohoo: The girls think they're helping when they pull out all the things they want to take that we really don't need to take.:rolleyes1
Wish me luck tomorrow with Queen and her friend...I may have to hurt one or both of them if they aren't nice to me and try to take over:rolleyes1:rotfl2:

Well now Peg only has one of us to deal with....I picked up a nasty cold....sore throat, congested head...overall gross:sick: I called her a few minutes ago along with Brenda and told them they're on their own today. Jasmine was sick a couple of days ago, but strickly a head cold no sore throat, however Thomas came over night before last and announced he had a sore throat....I may have to hurt that boy;) He texted Jas last night and said he was in bed all day.....I hope I have caught mine early enough.....
Good luck today Peg, B can be a little bossy when it comes to packing:worship: Just let her do her thing and when she leaves change what you don't like:lmao:Don't tell her I said that:thumbsup2

Thanks for the good wishes, when I talked to Peg this morning I said better now than in 2 weeks!!! I had so much I wanted to do today...after Peg's I was going to drop off 3 pairs of short for alterations (I lost some weight from last year so things are a little big, not that I'm complaining) pick up dry cleaning, get some groceries, take Jasmine to work....instead I'm doing nothing but sitting on the boards:lmao:

I can totally relate to getting busier and busier...it just kinda sneaks up on us doesn't it:lmao::lmao: Isn't SSR beautiful, I really have to remind myself that we aren't staying at ASMu the whole time, that we are so fortunate to be able to experience 3 different resorts....we're lucky people;)
I just checked in with peg and brenda and things are going well. :) I could hear MM in the background yappy to brenda, she does like to help. I went back to bed this morning cause I felt so lousy, got up around 11, jumped in the shower and I feel semi-human now:confused3
Thanks, I am super excited about CG! Got your PM, so now I'm off to get my Disneybinder:lmao:and I'll send you a pm with our schedule, I know we can figure something out....can't wait to finally meet!!!

Ahh yes, I do know all about checking people out at the Disney pool:banana: Two years ago when we were there with my girlfriend and her family, the 2 girls were oogling this young man who was probably 18 or 19, so Brenda and I put the zoom on the cameras and took pics for them....for 2.5 seconds we were the coolest moms ever.

Took 3 pairs of shorts that I love to be altered today, to have them altered is more than I paid for them, but I love them and don't have time to shop now:rotfl:who am I kidding, always time to shop, but I'd rather spend my money in WDW.:cool1:

I will take some pictures tomorrow of the suitcases on the bed...then it seems real to me.

Well I have sad news too to report...I have been following a blog about a little boy who had a wish trip that started on here. He's from a town near here. He was 3 years old and died yesterday:littleangel:
He was born with not much chance and defied the odds again and again. They had several close calls already this year and then they were in Sick Kids in Toronto for 42 days getting different things sorted out/surgeries done. They had just gotten home and had about a week at a cabin and had to take him to Children's and he just didn't respond to the treatments for two days. I was reading his blog yesterday and when I saw a post labelled "wings" my heart leapt into my throat:sad1: He had such a cute smile.
Last year I followed a blog of a friend of a friend's little boy who had cancer and died when he was one year old.:sad1:
It just brings all the important things in your life to the forefront.
Sorry to be such a Debbie Downer but I was so sad and just didn't even feel like getting out of bed today and then thought "I have two beautiful girls, a fabulous husband, great parents and mother-in-law, wonderful neice, good friends and a sister who's a pain the a**:rolleyes1aww but I love her" I can give my wonderful girls a big hug this morning and be happy I get to share my life with them and they sure do brighten up my life:love:
I was getting really stressed about this trip and all I have left to do, which I don't believe is alot but we've been busy. Yesterday was eye doctor...I have finally relented and accepted the limitations of my age and ordered progressive lenses:scared1:I used to make fun of people who needed longer arms to see:rotfl2:
Today is dentist for the kids and we are doing swimming lessons every night.
The girls are doing really well in their lessons. Snow White is learning how to dive as part of this group of lessons too, last lessons it was knealing dives, now we've moved to standing dives. Queen would have a hoot watching her...that was something I never mastered (queen of the belly flop here) She is doing better than I did but it sure brings back memories:rolleyes1
I've noticed we haven't posted many pictures here recently so I better get on the pictures of the tornado that is my living room right now with suitcases everywhere:scared1:

Not much else to report right now, I'm taking Mini Montana to her swimming lessons tonight, should be a hoot, have I mentioned I could just eat her up she's so darn cute. :cutie:
Jasmine is starting to fret a little about the plane.....good lord it gets earlier every year, I swear:eek: We were out shopping the other day there and we didn't have time to go home and make anything before Jas had to go to work so we went out for lunch. We no sooner sat down and she said I don't have a good feeling about the plane this year (and this is different from any other year I'm thinging:sad2:) but I say "Really, well let's talk about that":rolleyes1 I tried to say it without sounding sarcastic, not sure if I pulled it off. I said "You were fine last year and she said well that's cause Auntie threaten me if I scared the girls (she does have a point there) she would hurt me:rotfl2:
I guess my point is my last, what, 10 days is going to he H - E - double hockey sticks....I see it all now. I asked her if she thought sleeping the night before would help instead of staying awake all night and getting over tired....nope. Why do I try, nothing I say ever works so I'm saying nothing, just think of my next Monday morning at 6am CST as we're hurling down the runway....I guarantee you she'll be crying and I'll be saying, "Why don't they serve alcohol this early on a flight:confused3

8 days until we leave, I can't believe it! I dropped Jasmine off at work yesterday just before 10 and decided I would drive to Peg's end of town to pick up my shorts I had in for alterations. They were actually supposed to be ready on Fri evening but they had called and asked if I could pick them up on Saturday morning, yup no prob:thumbsup2
So off I go, get there just before 10, go in, they can't find my shorts:scared1: my heart was in my throat. I don't know about anywhere else in the country but finding summer stuff right now here is not easy, all the fall/winter stuff is in:confused: She calls the owner and he said, they won't be there until 1130am and that they told me that when they called:headache: Well, if they told me that, I wouldn't have been there at 10. Now normally, I would just have driven the 2 minutes to Peg's and had coffee with her, but she was working. Arghhhhh. I went across the way to some of the box stores and ended up finding Jasmine some black shorts she wanted, 2 tank tops (the way these kids layer you can never have too many tanks) then I went into Reitman's and found 4 really nice button up sleeveless shirts that were regular $36 on for 11.99..:woohoo:I also found a jean skort and jean capri's.
I headed home to put away all my purchases and to kill some more time until my shorts would be delivered to the store.....oh well, went back and at least they were there.
Jasmine works today at 2 and I have to drive right by Best Buy to get home, so I will stop and buy my new memory card today, then my shopping is complete!!!!
This week is going to be a little crazy....Tuesday I actually have nothing on, Wed I have a doctor's appt, then my BF mom's funeral, Thurs another doctors appt then take Jasmine to get her hair cut and hi-lighted, Friday pick Jasmine up from work and take her to get her manicure and pedicure then on Saturday morning my manicure and pedicure. Sunday will be stictly packing, everything is ironed and waiting so it's the last thing I will have to do.
Geez, makes me tired just thinking of everything. I will have to check in with Peg later today and see how her week is shaping up;)

Hi y'all.... I know it's been forever and a day since I've been on here. I could blame it on the project but it's probably more Facebook than anything. But I couldn't let another day pass without stopping by and saying hi.
Ahh yes, I do know all about checking people out at the Disney pool:banana:
I think that's the thing that KC liked the best when we stayed at the All Stars one year and they had the cheerleading girls staying there too. He said several times that he enjoyed the "theming" of the pool. :rotfl2::rotfl2:
So had my follow up on my hand today....can you believe it....still broken
Leave it to you to do something doofy like break your hand right before the trip. :rotfl:
Sorry to hear about your friend.
Well I have sad news too to report...I have been following a blog about a little boy who had a wish trip that started on here. He's from a town near here. He was 3 years old and died yesterday:littleangel:
Sad as I am to hear this, I'm glad you mentioned it. It's good for us to remember, among all the hustle and bustle of planning, what the truly important things in life are. Thanks!
Well, I'd best get back to the project. I'm actually having a productive day. But I jsut had to stop in and say hi.

So funny you mention facebook....Peg and I were just talking about you the other day there and saying "Wonder how come Hypermommy hasn't been on the boards lately....cause we both know you're on Facebook all the time:lmao: We're glad you posted, you have been missed girl:worship:

Ahhh yes, I can only imagine;) Our luck most of the time is the men in speedos and frankly, no one needs to be seein that:rotfl: Jasmine had a few she was checking out last year, but god forbid we should actually speak to anyone....how that girl ever got a boyfriend is beyond me.
Leave it to you to do something doofy like break your hand right before the trip. :rotfl:
Well it has been 2 months since I broke it....see, you've been away far too long:rolleyes1
Sorry to hear about your friend.

You hit the nail on the head....we run around and take so much for granted. I actually went and read their whole report yesterday as Jas was at work and I sat in the chair and cried my eyes out....so thankful for everything I have in my life.
Glad you're having a productive day....keep in touch...we really do miss you....and I'm not even being sarcastic....I know, I hope you were sitting down for that one:cool2:

I feel all warm and fuzzy inside. I do feel the same about y'all though. It's funny..... I was trying to explain to my mom while I was up there about how I'd made some really good friends that live in Canada. I told her y'all were coming down and how I was dying to go to WDW for lunch one day so I could meet you. (which, by the way, unless I win lotto I don't think I can do). Anyway... she knows that things are tight financially and wonders why y'all couldn't come here. I told her well, they are actually going the longer distance!!!!!! :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:
I guess I should really hand it to mom though.... 86 years old and is on email and looking things up online. Although it did take forEHver for her to understand that she could check her email from down here.... it's not like it's sitting in a mailbox on her computer at the house. LOL
Okay, back to work for me... but I have missed y'all greatly too!!!!!

Well, I let that side of me show every now and again so people don't get totally turned off. You know, not everyone is as appreciative of my b with an itchy side as y'all are. :lmao::rotfl2::lmao::rotfl2:

I figured you'd understand but it still has me totally bummed out! Y'all just make sure you wave when you're flying over North Florida, okay?
And I know what you mean by the predators. But as adults we know the safety rules... you know... meeting somewhere public and all that. Besides, with our grocery bills being what they have been over the past few months, I'd gladly give up one of the eating machines -- maybe even to a predator. Remember I had an heir and a spare for a reason!
Oh, check out this twitpic I posted the other day:
http://s3.amazonaws.com/twitpic/photos/large/21079131.jpg?AWSAccessKeyId=0ZRYP5X5F6FSMBCCSE82&Expires=1249293014&Signature=hzKfRTdtR7y1cSgRZKezhBteMV0%3D
The caption on it was "This might hold the eating machines for a week...... maybe." It's really scary how much teenaged boys can eat! :scared1::scared1::scared1:
The girls and I had our pedicures done so I really do have to post pics of our toes and suitcases.
Okay, I know I've been gone a while. And I know folks on the DIS post some really strange stuff (you should see the looks on people's faces when I take pictures of food at restaurants -- guess I'm just too attuned to the DIS). But pictures of toes? Is that a new thing? Maybe we should all post pictures of our toes? But only after one gets a pedicure? Oh, okay... then y'all are safe. I don't do pedicures (too expensive) and can't reach my toes anymore so y'all won't be seeing pics of them.
But I'm on the edge of my seat waiting for pics of your toes. Don't leave me on tenderhooks, girl.... post them toe pics. But watch out... you never know what kind of fetishist predators might be watching! :rotfl2:

I am totally bummed too that you can't make it down, but if we look on the bright side, Peg and Geodoc are DVC owners so we KNOW there are future trips, I just have to convince them to take me again....I best be on my best behaviour this year or it may not happen.:rotfl2:

I asked Snow if she changed her mind yet about staying in Winnipeg until the Monday and flying down with Jasmine and I....I got a resounding NO.....MM would do it in a heartbeat:lovestruc

Jasmine and Thomas both work this afternoon so I have high hopes of getting the final packing list of clothes completed. I think it will make it much easier now that everything is hanging and I have a visual of what goes with what...and there will be no one around to make snide comments.

It's really not enjoyable, we had a Korean exchange student in 2006 from beginning of January until end of February and it never rose above -50 the entire time she was here. Her dad kept calling and asking why I was letting them go to school....I don't ever remember our schools being closed down, not in the city. When it reaches a certain temperature with the wind chill the buses don't run, but children who can walk or drive are expected to be at school. We're a hearty bunch up here:lmao::lmao::lmao:Or stupid for staying

Yeah, I work at home. Just don't get paid! LOL No seriously, I just truly underbid this project so I'm trying to get the last bit finished so I can get paid and bid on some more work for them. And this time I'm gonna do it right! Which, of course, means they're gonna probably have a cow when they see the price.
So the buses don't run, but they expect teenagers to drive to school? Or, what's the driving age up there? But even so..... WALKING to school when the buses aren't running sounds like a serious recipe for disaster!!

We've missed you too!! Thanks, I'm pretty proud of myself to be ready this early. This week is a little crazy, tomorrow I have to go to a rent it store and pick up cups and saucers, drop them off at the church for my BF's mom's funeral on Wed. I have a couple of doctor's appts on Wed and Thurs, Jasmine's hair, manicure, pedicure and my manicure and pedicure. At then end of all that, I have to actually get all those nicely laundered clothes into the suitcases. :worship: Whew, I'm exhausted just thinking about it, but it will help the week go quickly....oh and I think we're doing dinner one evening with Peg and crew before they leave. I guess we are going to be away from each for 2 whole days:hug: I love my sister.

But just think... this time next week (?) you could be sitting at the bar having a nice little drinkipoo and letting all this stress and activity just fade into the background.
Until Peg shows up of course.... then you'll have to try to undo whatever psychological damage she's done to those poor girls. Well... at least you should. But if I know you, you'll just find a way to twist them just a bit further. Might as well.... they have to have something to tell there therapist about later in life. ok I thought I'd better post pictures of our toes and luggage as today I'm really feeling the crunch. Tried to get some packing done today but spent a lot of time booking a client to WDW:thumbsup2Then Queen came over and we hashed out what we are each paying for out of the Garden Grocer order. She , of course, came over hungry so I had to feed her too:confused3
We did get a bit of packing done and then the girls had their swimming lessons and then we had a neighbor come over for dinner who is going to look after the house when we're gone. Had to give her all the info and we had a lovely dinner (Queen's chicken marinade):worship:
Yesterday we went to the airport because a 1945 Lancaster Bomber was coming in for a visit. It arrived an hour late but enjoyed a quick peek during a fly by and then when she landed.
Ok here's some pictures.
We'll be leaving on this jetplane on Saturday, well maybe not this exact one but you get the drift!

Peg isn't the only one starting to feel the crunch. I had grand plans yesterday to get some stuff done and I got nothing done, well I shouldn't say that, I did get my kitchen cleaned top to bottom, now I only have the rest of the house to do before we leave:scared1: Yesterday was my day that I had no appointment, no running around, nadda, however, my BF Brenda had called on Monday and asked if I could swing by the U-Rent it store and pick up cups and saucers for the teathey're having after her mom's funeral. The store is only 10 minutes from our house and she lives across town. Jas and her friend Michelle came with me and helped us get the hall set up too....such good girls.
I have done a fine job of cleaning out the fridge, freezer and cupboards before we leave, so much so that I have to go and get some food today:laughing: I figure I'll hit the store on my way home from the doctors, tomorrow another doctors appt for me and Jasmine's hair....Friday Jasmine works then her mani and pedi, then Saturday my mani and pedi, get home, get Jas to work then pack like a crazy woman:eek:
Hey Peg, great pics of the Lancaster bomber....brought back memories for our parents. I didn't go to the airport, see, my house backs onto the airfield so we got to sit in the yard and it did a fly by right over the house:cloud9: My parents said it brought the war years back...they are both from Scotland and remember those bombers flying overhead on their way to bombing missions. My dad said imagine 100 of them flying overhead. My dad said it's funny, they seemed so much bigger when he was a child:rolleyes1
Well friends, I should get my day started here, as much as I could go on and on about our trip, I should actually do something for it.

Thanks for the kind words. The summer is not going as I would have liked. It's not just the weather but the fact that I have been under the weather. Since I've been off my feet for so long everything has backed up and I just don't have the energy to put everything back where it's supposed to go. I'm beginning to understand how those people on the clean-up your house TV shows got to that state. Funny how Dh and the kids don't seem to notice.
But enough of me. On to your trip and packing. Okay I'll back you on needing the teapot, I'm a spot of tea kind of gal too-but not the crockpot. Of course you could leave the teapot at home and buy a new mickey themed one.
I myself, would get another bag of jellybellys and some M&M's. Especially some M&M peanuts. That way I could tell myself I was having some much needed protein at the same time.
I didn't see the enormosity of a medicine bag you must be taking. At least according to the shelves of drugs I saw in your pictures last year.
Plus where is the booze? Is that part of your garden grocer order?

It's funny how it doesn't take long for our houses to get to a state of chaos. Don't fret about it though, it will get done eventually;)
See the M & M's could play double duty....protein and she could kill me if I get on her nerves. We were at a movie one evening and she decided to get reese's pieces...I made some smart comment to her from down the way (there were other people with us) and she said "Be quiet down there or when the lights go out I'm going to through some pieces in your popcorn and you'll never know:eek: She loves me:love:
Oh trust me the medical bag is in there somewhere. I'll make sure there's photos this year too Diamond, don't you worry:woohoo:
