Are there computers anywhere at or around WDW where we could briefly get onto the internet? We'll be staying at WL and AKL -- are there any there? (We will NOT be bringing a laptop with us) Thanks.

There are new computers in the parks with Internet access. I can't remember what the cost is, but I'm sure somebody here knows. You can also get on the Internet inside DQ at the restaurant.

There is internet access for a fee at all WDW resort's with business offices. Those are the resorts that have convention centers. (YC, BWI, GF, CSR, CR)

There is also Internet access at Disney Quest, however of course you must pay admission to get in there.

Epcot used to have some computers in Innoventions with access, I don't think they do anymore.

I believe at the shopping center next to "Goodies" there is a Kinko's. Farther down the road next to sizzler. If I had to get Internet access, I would go there. I really wish disney would hook up a WAN in thier rooms. With the cable modem at home and T3 at work dial up is just horribly slow.

Any hotel I've ever stayed at that offers high speed Internet in the rooms also charges a small fortune for it (usually $10-17 per DAY!) And these have all been business oriented properties, not vacation oriented properties.

Even for those guests who are there for conventions, anymore most conventions offer an Internet cafe with free access during the day and even into the evening.

I really don't think that many WDW visitors would pay that (look at all the people nickle and diming the soda mug issue to death, and that's $10 for Length of Stay!!) as most are there for leisure not business, so it's not reimbursable. Definitely wouldn't make enough ROI to justify it.

This is what I'm talking about, from the Rumor board.
Arlen Miller's newsletter is reporting that Guest Information and Public Internet Access Devices are now being installed at the Magic Kingdom. These are touch screen multimedia devices available for Guests to gain access to WDW information, check their e-mail and browse the web; to include Disney World.com. Guests can also use the device to directly call and speak with WDW Guest Services, Recreation Services, and/or Dining Services representatives via a touch screen speed dial button located on the device. 8 Device locations, spread out in public payphone banks throughout the park, were installed on 5/23, and all others will be complete by 6/1.

I've heard since then that they've also installed some at MGM, or maybe they're just planning on it.

Yes, At Cosmic Ray's in the MK there was internet access right by the payphones. It was $1.00 for 3 minutes, and I saw more of them throughout the MK but can't remember exactly where.
