There never is, just another President's Day Week for us. But I really can't believe that we're in a recession and so many people can afford to go.

BIG NEWS, we're now leaving a day earlier and spending an extra night:banana::banana::banana: So only 8 days here now!!!

How bad are PW crowds? I've been during MG, but it didn't coincide with PW.

Just looked at touring plans' site and the only recommended park is EP for our whole four days!

It can get pretty busy. I've never experienced the parks shutting down due to being filled to capacity, but most rides have hour+ waits. EP is always suggested for busy days since it holds larger crowds easier. A good thing though, you can never really notice the crowds at the resorts.

Another Valentine's Day arriver!

We have gone the past 2 President's Day weeks. Crowds definitely on the Monday holiday. We do AK that day. The rest of the week isn't too bad.

I actually do a lot and that's why february doesn't bother me. I visit MK and EP and that's it so the crowds never effect my family.

Don't know if my February trip is going to happen. :( I was supposed to go with my boyfriend and we broke up. I've tried to find other people to go with me but it's way too last minute for people to get the time off work or get the money together. Bummer.

I just checked accuweather.com and it says that it will be raining on the day we arrive and raining on Valentine's Day! :scared: V-Day I have the Bayou Pirates Adventure schedules for the kids, so dh and I can have a mini V-Day date. :lovestruc

My DH is coming back today from a conference in West Palm Beach. He said it was chilly & rainy the whole time until he woke up to go to the airport - now 77 & sunny.

The weather forecast can still change, you have a while to go yet.

Have a great trip.

If you are heading to Pop in February (or future dates as well) we'd love to have you be a part of the FREE Pay It Forwards swap at Pop. It's an awesome box filled with goodies and useful items.

It's kind of like the Give a Penny Take a Penny dish. You find something you need from the box, it's yours. If you have stuff you don't want to take home, put it in the box!

Some recent items in the box are: rain ponchos, lysol wipes, wet ones, laundry detergent, dish soap, clothes pins, disposable baby changing pads, glow sticks, stickers, kids toys, etc.

Looking forward to seeing future POPpers in the PIF thread!

Thanks!

Sweetie, I know you are hurting right now and thinking of Disney as being the place you and your BF went. You have to find enjoyment of things/places separately from your enjoyment of the relationship that you had with him. Otherwise, each successive relationship will have places or experiences that are soured for you if/when the relationship ends.

Good advice. I think time alone would probably be good for me. If I end up cancelling this trip, I'm already planning a birthday trip to Disney with a bunch of my friends. :) Gotta get my fix somehow!

In your experience, does it get you into your room any more quickly? I've had people say yes, some people say no...just curious. We get into MCO around 10 a.m. and would love to be in our room ASAP. While I wouldn't mind walking around the resort for an hour or two and/or grabbing something to eat, it would be so nice to be able to get into our room for a quick nap before heading out to Epcot.

We'll be in WDW in two days. I can't wait! We moved our flight up a day due to pending storm approaching, we ended up booking a night at the contemporary which I'm curious to see what it's like and then will switch over to our original plan staying at the GF. I hope our luggage makes the journey. One more day of running around and making sure everything is crossed off my to do list.

Instead of carrying a bunch of plastic bags, I tried to use the green shopping bags for groceries and pack all silly things/diapers and such in a duffle bag. Just found out that dd's best friend will be at WDW @ POR the same time we are! DD is so happy she will be there. We have been having behavior issues from her, we were thinking it was because of alot of issues this school year - 1. being separated from all her best friends from kindergarten (there were 5 of them, 4 went to one classroom and dd went to another classroom this year - 1st grade), 2. being the sibling of a special needs child catching up with us, 3. having speech issues herself. I am so worried for her, so far this year she has lied to us, cheated on her morning work, and stolen money from us (so she could go to school and buy the girls in her classroom stuff so they would like her). She is only 6 yrs old, I never thought I would be dealing with this till she was a teenager. I have promised her that while at WDW we would have a mother-daughter day and we can do whatever she wants to do. Then to hear that one of the 4 girls that are part of her best friend pack is going to be there at the same time just made her so happy. She was glowing from head to toe! Anyway, thanks for letting me vent, now to get ready for my last weekend of work before heading to WDW for 10 days then packing on Tuesday, Monday ds has surgery (don't get me started on that).

so sorry this happened, but you should really consider going it solo. the freedom might be nice. you could be in the sunshine! on the other hand, if you are really feeling low, you could just postponne for when the time is right. follow your gut on this one and good luck! time heals.

We just returned this afternoon from 7 days at Wilderness Lodge. It was a relaxing trip with just my husband and I. It was our first time at Wilderness Lodge. We enjoyed the amenities at the Lodge and loved Whispering Canyon. We ate dinner at Artist Point one night and were not impressed. The food was ok, but not for what it cost. We were on the 3rd floor and the one thing I did not like was that you could hear the toilets flush throughout the night.

I hope everyone has a magical trip!

We just got home last night from our 8 day vacation. We had a blast! The weather wasn't overly warm and it rained the morning we went to MK, but, we walked on all the rides with no waiting at all!! Was awesome!! We even went on rides 2-3 times! Loved it! I'm not a patient person, so, the no waiting was a big plus for me! We stayed at POR. It was our first time staying on site. It was a great place. Didn't really like the long walk to the main building, but, it wasn't bad. wouldn've like a closer room. The food court was great. I personally loved the buld-your-own pasta! we returned yesterday - though MANY said even when they were there there were no line - for the first time we had some huge waits - which we skipped TOT 90 minutes - others were about a 1/2 hr Pooh, dumbo, even spaceship eaarth which we NEVER wait for - we had to wait. Guess we picked the wrong days for our parks.
We arrived on the 2nd and stayed until the 9th
My girls only swam the first two days then it got too cold - wish I had brought more long pants had to do laundry but hey most was clean when I got home :) - also a bit of rain, but not bad. bring layers - for girls dresses that u can put leggings and a shirt under so you can take them off IF it gets warmer - my girls stayed bundeled the entire day - It was usuay in the 50's to mid 60's the entire stay. Definately was glad I said ok when my daughter left with her winter jacket, at first I said no, but she wanted to wear it - and she did even at the parks.
LOVED POR - in the Magnolia Terrace section - great location to busses - food and pool
we also had a great spot to watch the space shuttle takeoff at night
great trip cant wait to return in Sept!

:yay:OMG, can it be?! We leave in less than 24 hours!!!!:cool1: :woohoo:

On a bad weather note, it is suppose to be snowing all the way to the Ga/Fl border, and then rain from there to Orlando! It is suppose to start around 9 a.m., so I told dh we could either leave tonight and rent a room somewhere close to Orlando or leave earlier than our 4 a.m. tentative time. Take note, dh will not let us go in our van because he says it needs a new transmission and it may not make it (but it is ok for me to drive it around Atlanta on a daily basis with the kids in tow, not understanding that logic!), so we are taking his GMC Sierra extended cab truck. Which basicly our luggage will be in the bed of the truck and we will be arriving to WDW in true REDNECK style! It is my birthday vacation, my last birthday of my 30s and I keep asking for a new car (wanting an GMC Acadia or Chevrolet Traverse) but he keeps saying NO! Then again, it is nice not having a car payment too. I'm torn!

Either way, we will be in WDW soon! Things will get better once we are there!

The weather was all over the place. It was nice the first day, super rainy (tornado warnings) one day, cold enough to wear our winter coats one day and shorts another. It was strange. We kept checking the weather forecasts but they changed all the time. When we left they called for Ohio to be cold but dry on the day we came home but it was actually "Snowmageddon" as they have been calling it. We had a foot of snow drop the day we came home.

The pools are heated and some people were in there even though it was 40 degrees out so I really can't give you much advice about the pools, all I know was that it was way too cold for us to swim.

Good luck, sorry I couldn't be of more help.

We just got back early this morning and I'm missing it already. We loved the weather, even though it did rain on our last day we still thought it was better than the 25+ inches they were getting back at home. We had a few problems with a certain group of people during our stay, but other than that we had a blast and can't wait to start saving for our next trip.

I guess I should get out some more pants/sweatshirts. Usually I bring 1 pair, but with this weather that is being reported I may need more.

In 24 hours, I'll be flying the friendly (I hope!) skies. Between now and then, though, I have one last day of school to teach (thankfully I have a great job where the days fly by) and a TON of things to do at home this evening. Because of course, my DH and I both got some terrible, yucky stomach bug during the last two days. But, hey...better this week than next! Can't wait...wish the weather were going to be warmer, but sixty-five compared to twenty-five is going to fee wonderful, regardless.

I feel exactly the same way! I teach preschool and today will fly by since we have our Valentine's Day party and the kids will be very busy! Then tomorrow I drive up to VT to pick up my dd (so that we can watch her coach a bball game and so that we only have one car), then drive to NYC for the night. We fly out of LaGuardia on Sunday morning!!!! YAY! :cool1:

I agree about the temps too! We were hoping for 72 and sunny every day... but 65 will still be wonderful compared to NY weather! The nights will be a bit chilly... BUT... WE'LL BE IN DISNEY WORLD!!!!!!!

Enjoy your week off!

it was in the 50's and 60's and I wished I had brought pants! I brought Capris -the rain made it seem a bit colder at times. I can usually tolerate shorts if I layer clothes on the upper half, but missed not having pants - better to have them and not wear them, then wish you had them! ENJOY!! :goodvibes

I do not want to go in February again. It was too cold and too rainy (just like in 2007) We wore our winter coats a few times! It was also way busier than we expected. Lots of big groups!

Like I said - we made the best of it. We had a good plan and so we had a great trip!

We love WDW and we love fastpasses!

We just got back. The weather was cold for us. The highs were maybe around 60 most days, we only had 2 rainy days and it wasn't the whole day. But the mornings were pretty cold, in the 40's. I don't think I brought enough warm clothes, we all went out and bought sweatshirts and all the stores were selling out of gloves. I think though it should be warming up for you guys. I hope you have lots of sunshine, either way you'll have a great time, but pack your gloves just in case.

We are going the 27th to the 7th. I'm nervous, though! My friend just got back this past weekend from there and she said it was too cold to go the parks or do anything outside! She said it was in the 40s. Is that true???? What do I bring for the kids then? Sure hope we don't get sick while we are there!!

Is there anywhere online that you can find out what "today" was like in the parks...like temperature, crowd levels, closed attractions? If not an official WDW site, anywhere on these boards? I tried searching but don't seem to come up with something. It would be nice to have one that is like a continuous diary/journal...maybe I should start one when we get back on 3/7...hmmm.

6 full days until we leave...ahhhh:cool1:
