View Full Version : Can the DxDDP be cancelled after paid in full?

We just found out that we've been able to save hundreds of dollars off our original airfare since Jet Blue reduced their rates. I'm considering using the savings to upgrade to Concierge Level at the Poly (where we already have GV reservations - and of course, this is assuming there are concierge rooms still available.) My question is: Can we then cancel our DxDDP - which has already been paid in full?
I have been checking around the Disney website and TGM, but have found nothing in answer to this yet.
We won't need the DxDDP with the concierge level - so that will also be a substantial savings. (I'll keep our MAJOR reservations like CRT, Le Cellier, etc - but we're already paying out of pocket for some of the dinner shows like SOA where we opted to pay for Cat I seating - and will cancel the other ADR's that will no longer be necessary...)
TIA for any info/guidance...
Gretchen

Yes you can. If you are still 45 days or more out from your day of travel than you can cancel without penalty. If you are less than 45 days out (which it looks like you are) you may have to pay a change fee in the amount of $100. Although if you explain that you are trying to make the change so you can upgrade your room they may wave the change fee.

Thank you for the prompt reply - I think I may try to do this - I think I may be able to save some money in the long run. What do you think? I've never stayed concierge level...
We are a group of 2 adults & 2 children, ages 6 & 3. We've made a few reservations for character meals - and would keep these, but would just eat at counter service or maybe someplace like Kona Cafe otherwise. We bought the DxDDP thinking we'd enjoy some sit down meals - but it really became more about eating than enjoying WDW as a whole.
Any & all opinions gratefully accepted.

If you make a change that reduces your package price within 45 days of arrival there will be a $50 change fee. If you reduce the DDP but upgrade the room and the price stays the same or goes up they wont charge the change fee
