Well thats not too bad. I'm sitting here laughing, because I am saving our change also. I managed to save over 200.00 last year. Every little penny adds up right! Good luck with your savings.:)

I just rolled almost $400 worth of change. It is paying for the hotel, and transfers for my September trip! :)

We've had our "change jar" since we got married almost 15 years ago. Opened a bank account, opened a few CD's with it & are continuing to save to get our retirement condo just outside of WDW in the future - CAN'T WAIT!!!

We have saved change for years!!! We always use it for our WDW annual passes. We empty it about every 18 months, and on average, we have about $800 saved during that time period. Keep in mind that we do not USE any change. It all goes into the jar at the end of the day!!:)

The same w/ us. We never pay with any change. If the bill is $5.02, 98 cents goes into the "change bucket". That's the only real way to do it. On a day when I have to run a lot of errands to many different places, I sometimes come home with $4 - $5 worth of change!!!
It adds up quick & is never missed.
My last trip to DLR, I emptied the change jar, which had only been in use for about four months, and came up with $190. Amazing how it builds so quickly if you don't spend it. :D

Well I have to confess even though I have been saving change and some small bills I taped the jar shut so that I wouldn't be tempted to dip in when I am out of cash and need a gallon of milk! I just have a small slit at the top to place change/bills. And since I switched ressies to the GF I have been extra inspired.

I decided to collect my change after reading about it on the boards also.
My husband never pays with change so he had tons of it on his dresser so I started throwing it into a big bucket. I rolled all the big stuff with what rolls I had and came up with about 150. I was so excited!! So I decided to bring my pennies that I had in jars everywhere, to Coinstar. I had a good feeling, my husband however guessed the amount to be about 12.00. Well there was 60.00 in pennies!!! So needless to say hes been picking up pennies off the floor constantly. Hey if the loose change will pay for a chunk of the trip hes all for it!!

What is this Coinstar of which you speak??!?! Will they roll the pennies and just give you paper money?!?!?!! That would be like a gift from God because pennies are the WORST PART of rolling change for me!!!!!!!

In Mass. some supermarkets (our Stop and Shops) have a machine that you dump your change into and it counts it then gives you a receipt that the cashier gives you the cash for. Theres a slight charge for the use but its worth it for the pennies. The charge is a few cents on each dollar. I didnt mind because i was not rolling those pennies!!

I have used Coinstar as well. It is nice, except I don't like that it takes 8.9 cents per dollar.
All I do is bring it to the bank! They dump it in, in 30 seconds they know how much you have and will give it to you in bills...very convenient.
We have about $43, since April, although I used $20 to buy two-way radios and my sisters borrowed $10 for McDonalds!!

I have just counted and bagged £42 to take to the bank (approx £65). If I can do this each month we may be able to have a trip in December! Thanks to all of you who suggested doing it.

I haven't counted the coins yet... I'm so sorry... but...
I woke up one morning this week and my DH had slipped a $20 in the change jar. This is unheard of in our household. I nearly fainted when I saw it. I think I have finally converted him!!!
