Love the picture of Isaiah napping on the bus. He and John would get along really really well as you know how John likes to get in those power naps too.

I am sorry to hear that Dan wasn't feeling well. Poor thing. I left John in the room once when we were in Disney and I felt like a bad person for leaving him even though he encouraged Hunter and I to go have fun.

You guys were able to get a lot accomplished at the Magic Kingdom. Evening extra hours at the Magic Kingdom are always awesome! I think I have the same t-shirt that Jonah bought. It's yellow and has Mickey, Donald and somebody else at the bottom and they are all soaking wet.

I hope that Dan is feeling better by the time you post the next installment.

You accomplished quite a bit during your day. You even managed to fit a nap in the middle of all of it! :thumbsup2 Hopefully the sleep helped Dan feel better. We have still never seen Spectromagic either. For whatever reason, our plans never work out to see it. Your pictures make me realize that we are missing a good parade.

Wow!! You got alot done!! Don't you just love those EMH?:thumbsup2

So sorry to hear that Dan wasn't feeling well and that he missed Spectro again.:sad2: We just love SpectroMagic!! It's such a beautiful parade!!:cloud9: Main Street did not work for us either--way too crowded, especially for DH. Glad to hear that watching it from Liberty Square was better (at least not as crowded anyway) and your pictures turned out great!!:goodvibes Love the one of Jonah watching. I always try and catch those shots too!!;)

I'm excited to hear about your Biergarten ADR!! YUM!!

GREAT update!!! So sorry that Dan was feeling crummy but glad that you got to see Spectro and do the EMH!!! We sat in Liberty Square for Spectro, too but sat facing the Liberty Bell and where we could see the floats coming towards us. It was awesome!! And I think your Spectro pics are great!! It is so hard to get decent Spectro pics!! WOW!! I can't believe how much you got done during EMH!! Impressive!!!

Pirates of the Caribbean was definitely on the list…can’t get too much of Captain Jack! Jonah found some accessories to make his pirate look complete! It’s kind of like Jack Sparrow meets Minnie Pearl! LOL!

What an amazing evening you had! So sad that Dan missed out...

It was such a great night! I was so excited about it and it completely lived up to my expectations! :thumbsup2

Missy, it sounds like a great night! So sorry about Dan though. All the more reason to get back, right? I hope he was feeling better the next day though!

Can't believe your almost done! :sad1:

Sara

Hi Sara...we're both almost done...so sad. I really have no idea when we'll go back which makes me even more sad. We NEED to move and get a bigger house so, as much as I want to go back to WDW, moving needs to be my focus right now. The more $ we spend on vacation, the longer I live in this house that's TOO SMALL!

How did I miss the Halloween post? Too much going on at the office I guess. I like all of the costumes but I think my favorite is the bright idea. Too cute!

He was pretty proud of that one! Hope things slow down for you soon!

I've said it before and I'll say it again..our families are kindred spirits!

We did Main Street for Spectro in 2009 and it was just a nightmare. We'll stick to Liberty Square from now on...makes for a much happier hubby!

Poor Dan. That sucks he missed out on Spectro again, but I hope he felt better for your last day!

Thankfully the good rest did him a world of good...it was a good decision to leave him behind.

Hi Becky! EMH was so worth it! With older kids it's so much easier to do the late nights.

That face paint really did hold up well. I had to wash it off the next morning. Well worth the $12!

Fortunately the rest did seem to do the trick and Dan was ready to go the next day. So sad the trip report is ending...it's like last day blues all over again!

Morning Missy,

Just checking in with you since you haven't been around the last few days. Hope you're doing well.

love the last update....it sounded like a wonderful night in MK but sorry that Dan was feeling bad...I think you all made the right decision in not pushing him, hope he felt better the next day.

The EMH sounded great...looking foward to when my crew is older to pull in a late night like that, my DH & I loved our EMH night at the MK back in 08 :thumbsup2

arne't riding the rides at night so fun and different...and yes why is PPF always so long...1st thing of the day or no way, huh :confused3

Love the Captain Jack/Minnie Pearl inpersination (sp?) he made :rotfl:

Hi Julie! That PPF line always baffles me...it's a fun ride, but the line is NEVER short. Epcot is our last park day....our last day was just checking out and taking ME to the airport. So sad to be at the end. :sad2:

Oh geeeze, school issues. I've had a bit of those with Hunter myself. Kindred spirits they are!

Oh boy...it's been a rough year already and it's only just started! We are very blessed for the most part, but we always manage to get one teacher that just doesn't seem to "get" Isaiah. Not that he shouldn't act appropriately in school of course, but he's the kind of kid that you really need to make some sort of connection with or he can be difficult. Not every teacher wants to make that effort. :sad2:

I have the exact same problem with Hunter. We have one teacher every year that seems to be there just to collect a paycheck.....not to make connections with the kids or get to know the kids. Hunter needs a little one-on-one every now and then and this teacher simply doesn't give that to him or any of the kids in his class.

After a very restful sleep, we all stayed in bed a little longer this morning. (After not getting back to the resort until after 2:30 am, we thought we deserved a late morning!) We finally roused ourselves and enjoyed a light breakfast in the room while we got ready for our LAST park day. So sad. :sad2:

Fortunately, the extra down time and rest had done Dan a world of good and he was ready to join us! YAY!

Our plan this day was to tour the park we most wanted to visit again. We knew all along it would most likely be Epcot….and that’s where we were headed! :thumbsup2 We had toured most of Future World and the World Showcase, so today was all about doing our favorites again and fitting in those things we never have time to do! Plus…we had a nice last minute ADR at Biergarten for our last dinner. It was going to be a great day!

By the time we had leisurely made our way to the bus stop and arrive at Epcot is was just after 11:00 am. All we had eaten in the room was pop-tarts or cold cereal and we were a little hungry. We decided to head to the Land so we could get FP’s for Soarin’ and then have an early lunch/late breakfast at Sunshine Seasons. We ended up getting 3 sandwiches (2 ham and one turkey muffuletta) and the accompanying desserts ( a chocolate cake, a cinnamon roll, and a key lime pie) We also used snack credits (which by now we had accumulated PLENTY of) to get some pretzels and a giant dill pickle! I love me a good dill pickle! We enjoyed just people watching as we ate our meal. It was so nice to be able to just take our time and not rush.:cloud9:

After our light meal, we wanted to ride the Living with the Land boat ride again. My family just loves this ride and I’m so glad because it’s one of my favorites! Here are a few picture of our ride.

I just love these murals!

Isaiah’s favorite veggie…no kidding!
http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m1/missyp_02/MondayEpcot--Disney200912.jpg

That greenhouse just fascinates me. Someday I’d like to take the Behind the Seeds tour and get a closer look!

It was now just after noon and our tentative plan had us exploring FW until about 2 when we would head over to the WS and try to catch some of the performances that we never take time to watch. So….we decided to try something we’d never done before…..

http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m1/missyp_02/MondayEpcot--Disney200911.jpg

This attraction just never fit into our plans, but now was a perfect time to check it out! We made our way to the entrance and watched the cute Ellen pre-show. We were finally ushered into our moving theater car and off we went to explore our Universe of Energy! We all agreed that we enjoyed seeing this, but probably would not take the time to do it again. It takes about an hour from start to finish. Ellen is funny though and the kids were into it. Imagine that…education on vacation!

Following our Energy Adventure, the boys wanted to head over to the interactive area that is at the end of Mission Space. They had skipped it when they rode MS earlier in the week and wanted to take the time now to go check it out. OK…not a big fan of the video games, but I agreed and off we went. The boys LOVED playing the Space Race game and did it several times. I sent virtual postcards home, but mainly sat and watched Jonah play in the playground area. Here are a few pictures from inside…they’re not so great, but enjoy!

http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m1/missyp_02/MondayEpcot--Disney20099.jpg

It was about 1:45 when I finally was able to pry my family out of that area so we could head over to the WS. I wanted to see the candy lady in Japan and she began her show at 2:15. On our way to Japan, we stopped at the African Outpost and the boys got some frozen lemonades and frozen coke. YUM! :goodvibes

We arrived in Japan just as Miyuki was setting up and getting ready to begin. I had seen her when I visited as a teenager, but my boys had never seen her, so I was excited. She really is amazing…the things she can do with sugar! :worship: I had explained to the boys that she picks kids to give her creations to, but that she only does so many per show and not to be disappointed if they weren’t picked. Sadly, they were not, but they handled it very well. They were just fascinated by what she was doing!

http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m1/missyp_02/MondayEpcot--Disney20094.jpg

When she finished we wandered around Japan and took a few pictures. It’s really a very beautiful pavilion!

http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m1/missyp_02/MondayEpcot--Disney20093.jpg

The African Outpost is in the World Showcase as you are walking between Germany and China. There's really nothing there...but the music changes! (It changes between every country in the WS...did you ever notice that? We were there for evening EMH and it is very obvious when the park is empty. Cool little touch!) And there is a little refreshment stand that sells frozen cokes!

After watching the amazing Candy Lady in Japan, we wandered our way to the Italy pavilion. We had not visited there yet and Jonah needed to get the charm for his mask. It was so nice to just wander around with no real time constraints! Very relaxing!

We made it to Italy and went straight back to the KidCot station to get Jonah squared away. I think these masks are just gorgeous!

http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m1/missyp_02/MondayEpcot--Disney200936.jpg

The topiaries for Flower and Garden Festival were AMAZING! This is one of my favorites!

http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m1/missyp_02/MondayEpcot--Disney200933.jpg

After a couple pics of my boys by the fountain….

http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m1/missyp_02/MondayEpcot--Disney200935.jpg

http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m1/missyp_02/MondayEpcot--Disney200934.jpg

And one of Jonah that was just too cute to resist…..

http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m1/missyp_02/MondayEpcot--Disney200932.jpg

….we decided it was time to say arrivederci to Italy and try to get to China in time to see the acrobats performance at 3:05. Unfortunately, the late night was beginning to catch up with Isaiah and he had other ideas!

http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m1/missyp_02/MondayEpcot--Disney200931.jpg

Poor boy was just tuckered out and ready for a nap! So…and again, scold me if you must….we left him there on that little bench to rest. Jeff let him know where we would be and said to call if he needed anything and off we went to China. We figured we’d see the acrobats and then, if he had not yet joined us, we’d head back to Italy to wake him up! He looked a little like a homeless orphan sleeping there so soundly! LOL!

One thing I had not seen on other trips was the railroad display in Germany, so I was determined to find it this trip. I had located it the night we stayed for Extra Magic Hours, but it was too dark to take a picture. So…here are the ones I snapped on our way to China.

http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m1/missyp_02/MondayEpcot--Disney200930.jpg

http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m1/missyp_02/MondayEpcot--Disney200929.jpg

I loved that the little trains had “advertisements” on them for Flower and Garden Fest…cute little touch! Here’s a picture of the rooftops in the German pavilion. I had a thing for rooftop pics this trip…odd. I think I posted one of the rooftops in Norway earlier!

http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m1/missyp_02/MondayEpcot--Disney200928.jpg

I also took a picture of the restaurant we would be coming back to for dinner later that evening. See ya soon….save some yummy food for us!

We had a few extra minutes and Jonah found this cute little play area he wanted to explore a bit. The little areas they have set up just for Flower and Garden Fest are really adorable!

We got to China at just about 3:05 and were directed to the inside of the Temple for the acrobat show…not sure why it wasn’t being done out in the courtyard, because it was a beautiful day. As we were headed inside, we noticed Mulan finishing up her meet and greet and decided to squeeze that in before the show. Poor Isaiah missed her, but Dan explained to Mulan that his brother was taking a nap in Italy, and she signed Isaiah’s autograph book for him. Sweet! :goodvibes

http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m1/missyp_02/MondayEpcot--Disney200924.jpg

My favorite part of this picture is that Mulan is holding Jonah’s hand…aww!
http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m1/missyp_02/MondayEpcot--Disney200923.jpg

Due to our short visit with Mulan, we were late for the acrobats and got terrible seats in the back. The Chinese kids who do this show are truly incredible! If you have not seen this short demonstration, I highly recommend it! I got horrible pictures because we were inside…and because I had to take them over everyone’s heads…but here they are.

http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m1/missyp_02/MondayEpcot--Disney200922.jpg

http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m1/missyp_02/MondayEpcot--Disney200920.jpg

At some point during the show, Isaiah showed up from his Italian “pisolino” (nap, I looked it up!). He was refreshed and a little bothered that the Italian juggler’s show woke him up! LOL!

That huge gift shop in China was calling and we couldn’t resist. The boys just love that place! On our 2007 trip, Dan had purchased juggling sticks and had become pretty proficient at using them. He was trying to show off, I mean, teach his brother a thing or two!

http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m1/missyp_02/MondayEpcot--Disney200918.jpg

This cute CM stepped in and gave them a lesson!
http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m1/missyp_02/MondayEpcot--Disney200919.jpg

Having seen what we wanted to see in the way of performances, we decided to head back to Future World and use the FP’s that we had obtained on our way into the park. We had one for Test Track and one for Soarin. We also wanted to check out the Fairy Garden, well at least I did, and do a little shopping before our 7:35 dinner ADR at Biergarten.

Up Next….how many Rice Krispy treats can one boy buy?? And do I brave Minnie’s Butterfly Tent? :confused3

I think you already know that I really guessed that it would be Isaiah napping and not you. ;) A boy's gotta do what a boy's gotta do and for Isaiah....it's nap.

I like the picture of Jonah too. His smile is simply adorable.

Dan may try to act all teenagery and cool but it was really sweet of him to get Mulan's autograph for Mr. Napper Isaiah. Just don't tell him I said so or he may feel inclined to stop....you know how teenagers are.

I'm looking forward to reading about your dinner. I was able to make our ADRs on November 28th bu we were out of town so I haven't made them yet.

hi Lisa! We decorated the tree and got the house ready for Christmas yesterday. I had to fight a little to get the boys to turn off the football game and turn on the Christmas music...but I won! I am getting ready to start my baking...I make a ton of cookies and candies for Christmas.

I have NO idea when we will be headed back to WDW which makes it so hard to end this report. We really need to start buckling down a bit and saving to do some things around the house so we can sell it and move to a bigger one. This house is just too small and getting smaller every day as my boys get bigger! So....the more money I spend on a Disney vacation, the longer I stay in this house. I'm trying to see it that way and not be sad, but it's tough!

Thankfully..a couple of my DIS friends have started new PTRs so I can live through their vacations...it may be the best I can do for now! ;)

Since we had a few FP’s to use, we made our way “back to the future” and directly to the Test Track pavilion. It was about 4:15 and we wanted to make good use of the little time we had left before our ADR at Biergarten at 7:35. What better way than on TEST TRACK! With three boys….and one grown-up boy….this ride is a family favorite. And since this was the day to do all of our favorites again, this one was definitely on the list. I took a few pics while we waited for our test vehicle to arrive.

http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m1/missyp_02/MondayEpcot--Disney200949.jpg

And this one just makes me giggle!
http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m1/missyp_02/MondayEpcot--Disney200948.jpg

As usual it was a great ride! I love that you can add your ride picture to your Photopass account at Test Track. Here’s ours!
http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m1/missyp_02/Image180.jpg

Even though we had already spent some time in the new car showroom that follows the ride, my boys can’t get enough so I snapped a few more pictures before bidding TT a fond and sad farewell.

http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m1/missyp_02/MondayEpcot--Disney200947.jpg

http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m1/missyp_02/MondayEpcot--Disney200946.jpg

Our next order of business was to find Tinker Bell’s fairy garden. I’d had my fill of testosterone induced attractions and was way overdue for some girly-time! LOL! On our way, we stopped and got frozen lemonades to enjoy on our stroll. YUM! We found Tink and her friends in a very cute little garden and I wandered the paths while my boys decided to head into Minnie’s Butterfly Garden.

http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m1/missyp_02/MondayEpcot--Disney200945.jpg

http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m1/missyp_02/MondayEpcot--Disney200944.jpg

http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m1/missyp_02/MondayEpcot--Disney200943.jpg

I am NOT a big fan of the butterfly. From a distance, perched on a pretty flower…..OK. But flying around in an enclosed space and possibly landing on me…..NO THANK YOU! In my eyes, they’re just big flying bugs…kind of like birds…and they freak me out a bit. Odd, I know, but what can I do?? All that being said, notice that the pictures of Minnie’s Magnificent Butterfly Garden are taken from a safe distance!

http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m1/missyp_02/MondayEpcot--Disney200942.jpg

My kind of butterfly!
http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m1/missyp_02/MondayEpcot--Disney200941.jpg

By now it was about 5:00 and since we were at the back entrance of Mouse Gear (my FAVORITE store!), we decided to head in and do some souvenir shopping. I could wander around in this shop for hours! As it turned out we kept it to a ½ hour. Dan got a cute Dumbo plush, Jonah got a Pluto, and I picked up a Tink Jibbitz for my Crocs. We also got a cute toy for our dog Daisy and a couple Minnie lollipops to give to my friend’s daughter. We had been pretty free with our use of snack credits throughout the trip, but still had quite a few accumulated so Isaiah decided to pick these up to take home! By the look on his face you can tell he’s pretty happy about being allowed to buy 5 GIANT Rice Krispy treats!

http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m1/missyp_02/MondayEpcot--Disney200940.jpg

Shopping accomplished, it was time to head to the Land building for our last ride on Soarin’. Of course, we just can’t pass Club Cool without going in, so we did. UGH!! Honestly, I think I may have sat outside on this one. My boys can’t get enough of all that crazy soda….and getting unsuspecting strangers to try Beverly! We took a few pictures of the dancing fountain before continuing our walk to the Land.

http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m1/missyp_02/MondayEpcot--Disney200939.jpg

http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m1/missyp_02/MondayEpcot--Disney200938.jpg

http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m1/missyp_02/MondayEpcot--Disney200937.jpg

Dan had done some reading while in MouseGear and our mission on this ride of Soarin’ was to find the Hidden Mickey on the golf ball and the one in the snow scene. We got into our hang-glider, stowed our gear, and off we went! This ride amazes me every time I ride it….so well done! We did find the HM in the snow and tried to see it on the golf ball, but that thing zings by so fast! The fireworks scene left me a bit teary this time knowing this was our last ride.

But…no time to be sad…we’re not on that plane yet! It was about 6:30 when we exited the Land Pavilion and we slowly made our way back to the WS so we could get to Germany for our ADR. We passed a fruit stand and got Jonah some fresh watermelon…what a treat! As we walked we saw this cute little play area and let the boys climb around for a bit.

http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m1/missyp_02/MondayEpcot--Disney200960.jpg

http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m1/missyp_02/MondayEpcot--Disney200959.jpg

Entering the WS via Canada, we took Dan’s picture in his favorite country!

http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m1/missyp_02/MondayEpcot--Disney200958.jpg

Notice his Toronto Blue Jays hat? That boy loves all things Canadian! I love the cute little maple leaf cut-outs on the fence. Nice touch!

We made our way into the UK and, again, I took a roof picture. I’m really not sure what the fascination was with looking up, but it’s a pretty picture!
http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m1/missyp_02/MondayEpcot--Disney200957.jpg

Jeff wanted to check out some of the Beatles memorabilia so we went into the shop….and lo and behold we found Pooh and his crew! Of course we stopped since there was no line.

http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m1/missyp_02/MondayEpcot--Disney200954.jpg

http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m1/missyp_02/MondayEpcot--Disney200956.jpg

Dan, are you in there? LOL!
http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m1/missyp_02/MondayEpcot--Disney200955.jpg

After our visit with the gang from the Hundred Acre Wood, we exited out the back of the store and headed over the bridge toward France.

http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m1/missyp_02/MondayEpcot--Disney200953.jpg

http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m1/missyp_02/MondayEpcot--Disney200952.jpg

As we made our way through Morocco, we saw Aladdin and hoped to get in line for his picture and autograph, but sadly the line was closed. Oh well…..maybe next time!

A few last pictures of my VERY favorite WS country…..

http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m1/missyp_02/MondayEpcot--Disney200951.jpg

Yes! He was on the USS Bataan which came home Tuesday. However, he'll be leaving the ship shortly after the New Year and going to a different unit. He will deploy again in the later half of 2010 and miss Christmas next year.

Glad you got in some girly moments...I thought the garden was so cute too.

By the look on his face you can tell he’s pretty happy about being allowed to buy 5 GIANT Rice Krispy treats!

Oohhhh YUM FUN going on there...my favorite treat! I'm gonna have to look for those next yr! :thumbsup2

.and lo and behold we found Pooh and his crew! Of course we stopped since there was no line.

I can't believe you have one more update! I can't wait to hear about Biergarten - we almost ate there on our "date night" but it didn't work out - like most things that night. :rolleyes1

I LOVE your TT picture. You front seaters all look sufficiently worried that maybe you'll really crash into the barrier, but Dan and Jeff are completely unfazed.:rotfl:

I noticed that! Silly boys!

Beautiful picture of you and Jeff in France. I wish I would have thought to get a picture or two of George and I.

It's good to have a boy old enough to handle the camera and take a few shots!

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts on Biergarten. German food sounds quite good to me right now. Pass the spatzel, please!:goodvibes

I hear ya! And especially when someone else is doing the cooking!:thumbsup2

Well it has taken me three days but I just finished your TR. Thanks so much for sharing your story and your photos, it looks like a fabulous time. You also have three very well behaved, responsible boys, you should be very proud.
Can't wait to hear the last entry!

Hi and thanks for reading! Thanks for the compliment on the boys..they have their moments, but overall...I'll keep em!

Can't wait to read the end...but sad too...

Me too....it's been almost exactly one year since I started my PTR for this trip. It's sad to say goodbye!

There's always next time for date night, right? Jeff and I need to be sure to do that on our next trip. By then, Dan will be old enough to "babysit".

Great update, but how on earth did you only spend 30 minutes in MouseGears??? It's my absolute favorite store in Disney!! I could get lost in there forever, which is probaly why I avoid it for most of the day - it would derail the "master plan"!

Love the Test Track picture and the one of the two of you in France - so sweet!

I have one more official trip installment to post, then some closing thoughts and I'll finally be finished with this report. I can't tell you how sad I am....I have no upcoming trip to look forward to and this has been my Disney lifeline!

I promise I'll post an update tomorrow..the kids go back to school and my life should return to some sense of normal...whatever that is!

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and have been enjoying the start of our brand new year!

After our leisurely stroll through the beautiful World Showcase, it was finally time to head to Biergarten for our 7:35 ADR. This was a last minute addition, thanks to Jeff's boss. This meal was on them! YAY! :cool1:

We checked in a little early, so the boys rested in this beautiful archway...
http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m1/missyp_02/MondayEpcot--Disney200927.jpg
...while Jeff and I explored the Crystal shop....it's really best not to take the boys in a place where everything is very breakable and very expensive! ;) The crystal replica of Cinderella castle in this shop is absolutely breathtaking. If you've not seen it, I suggest you pop in and take a peek! Your souvenir budget better be huge, though, if you want to take it home!

Our little buzzer went off and we rejoined the boys and followed our host to our table. This restaurant is seated family style so we shared our table with another young couple. Here's a picture of us at our table...it's not the best picture of me, but notice Isaiah's cheeks are stuffed FULL! Whatever he's eating, he's enjoying it! :thumbsup2

http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m1/missyp_02/MondayEpcot---Disney2009.jpg

I don't remember exactly what was on the buffet, but I do remember a few of our favorites. Isaiah was a big fan of the Potato and Leek soup....he still asks me to find the recipe and make it for him here at home! We also enjoyed the schnitzel, sauerbraten, potato dumplings, German potato salad, the wide variety of sausages, Bavarian cabbage salad, and the delicious assortment of rolls and bread. My kids are fairly adventurous eaters and were able to find plenty of food that they liked here. For those not so adventurous, there were mini hot dogs as well as mac and cheese on the buffet as well.

As we were enjoying our meal, the show began onstage. It was a group of German musicians playing traditional instruments and was really very good! They were entertaining and pulled the crowd into the show. At one point we all had to raise our glasses and give a loud, “Oy, Oy, Oy!” My kids got a big kick out of it! They also invited everyone onto the dance floor at one point to share in the chicken dance and a polka or two. I think we were all too exhausted, so we just watched. At the beginning of our vacation, we would have been polka-ing with the best of them! Here are a few pictures of the performers.

Playing the cowbells.

These were so cool!
http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m1/missyp_02/MondayEpcot--Disney200965.jpg

As the show finished, we made our way up to the dessert buffet. YUM! :goodvibes Black Forest Cake, Bavarian cheesecake, apple strudel! The desserts were fabulous!

We absolutely loved this meal. The restaurant itself is very cute..it feels like you are outside in a German courtyard. The service was amazing and the entertainment was a hoot! I'm so glad we ended up our Disney vacation here...it was one of our best meals. A few more picture of our happy faces before we have to exit Epcot for the last time.

http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m1/missyp_02/MondayEpcot--Disney200963.jpg

http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m1/missyp_02/MondayEpcot--Disney200962.jpg

It was about 8:45 when we finished our meal and left Biergarten. Our goal was to head out of the park while Illuminations was showing and avoid some of the bus rush. It was so nice to walk out of the park with the lights dimmed and the music from Illuminations playing in the background. It had been a great day and an awesome end to our vacation.

When we got back to POR, we took a final night swim and I did some packing. We had to catch our DME bus at 9:45 the next morning, so I wanted to get some of the big things taken care of before we went to bed. So sad to be packing to go home...that feeling just stinks!

We were up bright and early on Tuesday April 28th.....the FINAL day of our Disney vacation. We all finished up the packing and were ready to head to the Riverside Mill for our final breakfast by 8:10 am. NOT BAD! This is a picture of the boys as we left the room for the last time.

http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m1/missyp_02/TuesdayGoingHome--Disney20091.jpg
Ya gotta love those faces.

We ate a hearty breakfast of French toast, waffles, and omelets at the POR food court. Despite our best efforts, we still left 10 Counter Service meals on our Quick Service plan. We ate two TS meals out of pocket so that would make sense, but we really ate whenever we were hungry and still couldn't eat all the meals allotted to us. After breakfast, we went into Fulton's General Store to try to use up the 16 Snack credits we had left. We bought lots of candy, rice krispy treats, Chip and Dale nuts and snacks, a few drinks to take with us to the airport. We managed to use all of our Snack credits!

By 9:30, we had packed and left the room, eaten breakfast, done our last minute shopping...there was nothing left to do but check out and board the DME bus. We could put it off no longer.

Good-bye POR...we'll miss you!
http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m1/missyp_02/TuesdayGoingHome--Disney20099.jpg

NOOO...say it isn't so!
http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m1/missyp_02/TuesdayGoingHome--Disney20096.jpg

On our way to the airport we stopped at Saratoga Springs and Old Key West. Beautiful resorts. I took a few pics of the boys and Jeff as well as one of the Disney buses passing by. Those buses just make me happy! Jeff kept referring to the DME as the Miserable Express....none of us wanted to go home!

http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m1/missyp_02/TuesdayGoingHome--Disney2009.jpg

Surprise...Isaiah is asleep!
http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m1/missyp_02/TuesdayGoingHome--Disney20092.jpg

But this time he has a nap buddy!
http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m1/missyp_02/TuesdayGoingHome--Disney20093.jpg

Inevitably we made it to the airport and bid Disney a fond and sad farewell. I had forgotten to check us into our flight 24 hours before, so we had no seating assignments and had to board in the last boarding group. Thankfully, Jonah and I were able to find seats together. The flight home was uneventful and we landed in dreary Buffalo way too soon!

Final thoughts and wrap-up coming up next!

So....it's time for me to stop dragging my feet and finally put this Trip Report to bed. SO sad. :sad1:

I'll say good-bye with a little wrap-up of our trip and closing thoughts.

First....the Dates. We went during our kids' Spring Break from school, April 19-28. Thankfully, it was a few weeks after most of the country was on break so the crowds were fine. I had worried that we would see some crazy crowds the first weekend of our trip, but that never happened. The weather was PERFECT! :thumbsup2 We had only one day with any rain and it was only for an hour or so in the afternoon...completely manageable. My favorite part about going to WDW in April is being able to enjoy the Flower and Garden Festival. I love all the special little touches throughout the parks. :goodvibes

Second...the Resort. We stayed at Port Orleans Riverside mainly because we are a family of five and our affordable choices are very limited. The down-side to staying at POR is that we all share a room. :crowded: This trip it worked our perfectly, but with the boys getting bigger and our next trip nowhere in sight, we may have to re-think this when and if there is a next time. We LOVE the quiet pools at POR and the boys enjoy the water slide at the main pool. Jeff and I also love to take advantage of the hot tub! ;) We love that POFQ is a short walk away and enjoyed beignets there one morning for breakfast. Our room was always clean and well stocked...and we had towel animals and little surprises throughout our stay. The grounds of POR are gorgeous and I love to stroll the crooked paths! Despite reports of bus issues at POR, in our two stays there as a family we have had nothing but FANTASTIC bus service. I have stayed both on-site and off-site and will always choose to stay on-site if possible. There's nothing like being immersed in Disney magic 24/7! :wizard:

Next...the Quick Service Dining Plan. I have mixed feelings about this overall. It was definitely the most affordable choice for our family for this trip. Taking the gratuity out of the standard Dining Plan really swayed our decision to choose QSDP. If you plan accordingly and do your research, it is possible to get a wide variety of foods on the QSDP...not just burgers and fries. The great thing about it is that you are not tied to ADR's and that if a family member is not happy with the restaurant choice, he/she can easily choose a different one. For example, one night Jeff and I got dinner from Tangierine Cafe in Morocco and the boys ate fish and chips in the UK. We all sat together at an outside table and could enjoy our meals together. I loved all the snacks that are included in this plan and, honestly, we had a hard time using all of our credits! The negatives? I missed being able to do more character meals. We did pay for one OOP, but I would have liked to do others. It's definitely more relaxing to be able to sit and order your meal from a waiter and be served....I missed that as well. Next time? I guess we'll just have to see when that is and what is available at that time. Having three boys who like to eat makes a meal plan of some kind a must-do for us. ::yes::

Finally...The Parks!

Animal Kingdom- We love this park! :lovestruc I think that AK is immaculately themed and I love to wander through and try to take in all the little touches the imagineers have put in. EE is a family favorite and I love that we can all ride and enjoy it together! FOTLK is also a must-do. My favorite AK memory from this trip is getting soaked on Kali after complaining that I didn't get wet enough on our last trip. Be careful what you wish for! :rolleyes1

Epcot- This is by far our favorite park. Although you cannot match the feeling of wonder and magic at MK, Epcot is the park in which we choose to spend most of our time. WS is my very favorite and we were able to really slow down and experience each country on this trip. We saw some of the street performers and got to eat at some different restaurants. We also love Soarin' and my boys (Jeff included) can't get enough of Club Cool. Springing Beverly on unsuspecting first-timers never gets old! My favorite memory from Epcot this trip was Isaiah saying he was exhausted because he just walked all the way from Mexico to Germany. That boy can make me giggle! :lmao:

Magic Kingdom- Ahh....what can I say? Main Street and the castle, balloon vendors, characters, the music and smells....I love it all! pixiedust: I especially enjoyed staying at the park until the wee hours of the morning for EMH one night. Seeing Wishes from high atop Splash Mountain was awesome! Haunted Mansion continues to be one of our faves and seeing it after dark added to the experience. My favorite memory was watching all the attention and interaction Jonah got from both cast members and characters when he had his pirate face paint. pirate: His interaction with Tink was especially cute!

Hollywood Studios- This was the one park where crowds were the biggest issue. Despite that, we were able to enjoy our day. The highlight was riding TOT with ALL 5 of us! Yay! Everyone was tall enough for RnRC this trip as well so it was fun to enjoy all the rides as a family. We did get to see Fantasmic...from the standing-room-only section, but we did see it! We also got to meet Mr and Mrs Incredible..a first...and enjoyed the block party parade. It was so fun to see Jonah dancing in the street!

I know that those short summaries can't even begin to explain what an awesome trip we had, but it gives you a taste! WDW is truly a magical place for our family and our vacations there will be treasured lifelong memories. There is something about WDW that brings us together and gives us the freedom to enjoy life and each other's company like no other place I've been. For that reason, we will continue to go back....just WHEN???? That is the question!

Thank you so much for reading along with me and getting to know my beautiful family. I'm sure I'll “see” you around the boards! :disrocks:

Missy,
great wrap up!
thank you for sharing your family memories with us... it has been fun traveling along with you.

I can relate to being in the Disney magic 24/7 and staying on the grounds. We really enjoy the mods, too! but, values are just as nice (just the pool is less adventerous) but nice to have two rooms for the price (just a thought --for your future).

Keep in touch!!! dissing and FBing

Aw Missy, your recap was great; loved all your favorite memories.:goodvibes

I agree that onsite is a wonderful way to be immersed in the magic.

Your TR was fantastic! I loved getting to "meet" your fun and darling family.

Are you on FB? I'm on sporadically, but would love to friend you if you are.

Great recap and glad that your vacation was absolutely magical! I loved reading about your family especially since our boys are so close in age. I will probably re-read it as I make plans for our upcoming trip (thanks to another military special!)

Hi Missy! I have been MIA for a while so I just got caught up on your TR. I am so sad to see that you are finished. Isn't it funny how the trip in reality ended months ago, but when you are writing about your last day in your TR, it feels just as sad?

Thank you for sharing your darling family with us. Hopefully you will get another Disney trip soon and you can write another one!
