Hi everyone!! Welcome to my very first trip report! Me and photobucket just got in a really big fight as I tried to download my over 800 pictures on to the site but I think I finally won. Some of you are new around here and some of you aren't so for the newbies let me introduce the cast of this trip and give a little background info. Here we go!
My boyfriend Chris (24)

and me, Kristen (21)
http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u124/xoktenox/WDW%20April09/243.jpg
just got back from spending an AMAZING, WONDERFUL, MARVELOUS, PERFECT week at Walt Disney World for our 2 year anniversary! (dating anniversary not wedding anniversary, obviously :)) We went April 19-26 after over a year of planning and anticipation. For more pre-trip info you can check out my PTR here (http://disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1953098).
So this is a short start, I know but I promise I'll be back later tonight to give a real update! Check back later for Day 1 Part 1, the never ending flights from NY to Orlando! Thanks for reading everyone :thumbsup2

Hey,
looking forward to your report.
At first I thought you were the couple
that took our picture minerature golfing,
but I see you came to WDW the day we left.
This girl was taking a ton of pictures of the Winterwonder Land golfing and they had
anniversary pins on.
I so wanted to ask her if she was a DIS member,
but I chickened out.

Soooo lets get this show on the road! Literally! Let's start with the day before we left, Saturday. Chris didn't get home from work until about 7:30pm but it was alright because he was already packed. I on the other hand had been writing papers for school like a maniac for 2 weeks before we left so after working 9-2, I came home, edited my last paper, emailed it to my professor and got to packing. Boy, let me tell you, I can pack! Seriously by the end of the week I had about 7 extra shirts, 4 extra shorts/capris/jeans and 2 pairs of flip flops with us that I never even wore! Anyway, I was really nervous that my bag was going to be over the 50lbs limit. Would it be? :confused3
So around 8:30 I headed to Chris's where we made Mexican lasagna for dinner. Actually I stole the recipe from Dawn (punkin413) on her TR. Thanks Dawn! Chris, his brother and I worked together (with relatively little arguing, might I add) and devoured it! After dinner I helped Chris pack up a few more things and then headed home to try and get some sleep!
I had my alarm set for 2:50am which came wayyyy too soon. I got up, showered, woke my dad up since he was driving us and got myself ready. After throwing a couple more necessities into my suitcase and carry-on, we were off to go pick up Chris at his house! He lives less than 5 minutes away from me so by 3:50 we were on the road to the airport. Chris fell asleep, of course, while I stayed up talking to my dad. The drive is about an hour or so into JFK airport from my house out on Long Island. We get to JFK at 4:45...it was PACKED!! We expected it to be empty but seriously, there was barely even any room on the sidewalk for us to get through, into the building. We wanted to do curbside bag check since I had checked us in for the flight online but it was so busy outside that the luggage guy was yelling "Go inside to check bags!" to everyone. So, inside we went. After a painless trek through the bag check and security we were through!
We stopped into one of the little stores inside the airport to get some magazines and snacks for the plane. We weren't hungry yet but we knew we would be since the planes don't even serve food anymore on them. We both got apple juice, I got an US weekly magazine and some Teddy Grahams and Chris got one of his car magazines. We picked up some gum too since we knew WDW wouldnt have any. We walk into our terminal and to our surprise we run into our friend that used to work in the supermarket with us! She and her cousin and some friends were on their way to Cabo and ended up being on the same flight as us to Atlanta. I haven't seen her in months and it was so random to see her at 5:30 in the morning at the airport. I decided to whip out the camera starting right about NOW.
Here's some planes on the tarmac outside

And Chris looking OH SO HAPPY to be up bright and early for the flight
http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u124/xoktenox/WDW%20April09/012-1.jpg
Finally we boarded and got to our seats. Everything is looking good until we saw this....
http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u124/xoktenox/WDW%20April09/013-1.jpg
Chris just reminded me that he spotted that. "I was the hero," he just said to me  We took a picture of it as proof in case the plane went down. We had it all planned out how if we started to go down we would make sure the camera came with us so we could sue Delta when we lived through the ordeal :rotfl: We're nuts! So finally, we were off! We were on our way to Disney World!!! :woohoo:

Haha, you pack just like me then. I always pack more than I need because I'm afraid that I'll get there and wish that I had packed something.
So around 8:30 I headed to Chris's where we made Mexican lasagna for dinner. Actually I stole the recipe from Dawn (punkin413) on her TR.

mmm.. lasagna.. :p
I'm thinking of making of easy disney dish before we go. because I will be home- waiting for him to get home from work- then we will eat, and leave. but idk.. I have my hair appt. that day too.
I am actually surprised that the airport was that busy.. but then again I've never been to that airport- last 2 times.. mine was really dead when I arrived that early. I'm kind of wondering how it will be arriving at 5pm...hmm.
The last thing you should talk about when flying.. is crashing!! hehe:laughing: But DH and I do the same thing.. we especially him- is freaked out with flying. Hw just doesn't like it. I'm ok.. once I am on the plane and in the air.. then the rest of ok.. But obviously you arrived safely! :goodvibes
I'm excited about hearing more! After tomorrow.. I will be free all summer- and i will be all ears for the rest of your trip! :listen:

The lasagna was soooo good ever since you posted that on your TR I copied the recipe and have been saving it LOL
The plane definitely freaked me out a little especially since that was right by my right foot and it was about -10 degrees down there by my foot! idk what was up with that!
Smart move taking evidence pics! And how cool to run into an old friend at the airport! Okay....hurry and get to Disney. I wanna see some topiairies. :lmao:
Yes we wanted to make sure it would have been called "Kristen and Chris" airlines when we survived the crash :rotfl: We'll be at Disney soon too I promise, I was at Chris's last night writing that update and didn't have my trip journal with me. I couldn't go too far without it because I forget everything!
And you will be pleased later because I took lots of topiary pics! :thumbsup2

I'm thinking of making of easy disney dish before we go. because I will be home- waiting for him to get home from work- then we will eat, and leave. but idk.. I have my hair appt. that day too. Try the lasanga, it was really good and easy to make too.

I'm kind of wondering how it will be arriving at 5pm...hmm. We were really surprised too, we expected it to be dead at that time. At 5pm I feel like it might be busier for you guys!

I'm ok.. once I am on the plane and in the air.. then the rest of ok.. I'm excited about hearing more! After tomorrow.. I will be free all summer- and i will be all ears for the rest of your trip! :listen:

Hey Kristen!
I can't wait to read all about your trip! I didn't realize that y'all were celebrating y'alls anniversary. Did y'all tell Disney that it was y'alls anniversary? We are celebrating our 3 year when we go and we told them and I'm kind of worried that they'll think we're married. I was just wondering how it worked out for y'all!
So what exactly is going on in that picture of the plane? I've only flown twice in my life. Once at 18 months and once when I was 20 so I don't know too much. I'm glad it turned out to be ok though!
I know how stressed out you were with school leading up to your trip but I'm so happy that you were able to finish everything up so you could enjoy your trip to the fullest! I can't wait to read more!!

Hey girl! We did tell Disney it was our anniversary and EVERYONE thought we were married. Hello, do you see a ring? Because I dont LOL The picture of the plane shows insulation coming out of the side of it, it was right by my feet.
Finishing all the school stuff before we left was sooo stressful but worth it in the end!

http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u124/xoktenox/WDW%20April09/015-1.jpg
The flight was pretty uneventful and took off on time. I kept falling asleep on and off the whole flight. When they came around for our drink orders I was sleeping so I did miss that. I woke up shortly after Chris had ordered a coke and ate some of my teddy grahams.
http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u124/xoktenox/WDW%20April09/018-1.jpg
Chris likes flying
http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u124/xoktenox/WDW%20April09/017-1.jpg
http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u124/xoktenox/WDW%20April09/016-1.jpg
Delta flights have a little screen in the seat in front of you and there's games and music and TV on them. Everything cost money so we were playing the in-flight quiz game which was free. It was trivia against everyone else on the plane and was pretty entertaining. So we finally landed in Atlanta for our layover around 8 or so. I was happy to be almost to Disney!
http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u124/xoktenox/WDW%20April09/019-1.jpg
The airport was pretty empty.
http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u124/xoktenox/WDW%20April09/020-1.jpg
The time was really catching up to us.
http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u124/xoktenox/WDW%20April09/021-1.jpg
Finally we boarded the plane to Orlando. After another uneventful flight with Chris and I both sleeping on and off and playing the in-flight quiz game, we landed in Orlando!! Our first site of Florida

http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u124/xoktenox/WDW%20April09/023-1.jpg
We were SOOO excited! (I look possessed here but its cute that we were so excited LOL)
http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u124/xoktenox/WDW%20April09/024-1.jpg
We landed around 11:20, earlier than we were supposed to! We got off the plane after a quick toilet stop headed towards the Magical Express counter.

Our first ride on the "fake" monorail
http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u124/xoktenox/WDW%20April09/026-1.jpg
After the 6 mile walk from the terminal to the ME counter (with my carry on bag that weighed 900lbs) we saw this
http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u124/xoktenox/WDW%20April09/028-1.jpg
The line was ridiculously long! I hoped in my head this would not be a sign of things to come because Chris was already complaining! Actually the line moved really quickly though because they had a lot of CMs working.
http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u124/xoktenox/WDW%20April09/029-1.jpg
So by about 12:15 we had gotten through the whole ME check-in line and were finally going to board a bus! Here's the first Disney bus of our trip, I was soooo happy!

Our bus was full but after a short ride we finally started seeing Disney buses and signs! I was literally boiling over with my excitement at this point.

http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u124/xoktenox/WDW%20April09/036-1.jpg
We were almost thereeeee
http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u124/xoktenox/WDW%20April09/034-1.jpg
Finally we pulled up to All-Star Sports, then All-Star Music and after what felt like an eternity we pulled up to our resort, All-Star Movies!!:yay:
http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u124/xoktenox/WDW%20April09/037-1.jpg
Quickly we got off of the bus and headed in to check-in, hoping our room would be ready.
http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u124/xoktenox/WDW%20April09/038-1.jpg
Notice the back of Chris's head in that picture above. That would be a common occurrence throughout the rest of the week. He started to get a liiiiiiittle frustrated with my excessive picture taking and would keep walking in hopes that I would stop taking pictures and go with him :rotfl:
http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u124/xoktenox/WDW%20April09/039-2.jpg
http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u124/xoktenox/WDW%20April09/040-2.jpg
So we checked in with a nice, older female CM. I can't remember her name! She gave Chris his "1st Visit" button and both of us "Happy Anniversary!" buttons. I asked her about the Mears bus I had been wondering about for getting us to Islands of Adventure that Tuesday and she told me that they did have them and gave me the number for Mears to call and make a reservation. Within a few minutes we were checked in and heading to our already ready room! I was so happy to get to show Chris how cool our resort was with the lifesize icons and the pool and everything! So, would we be happy with our room? Would it be clean? Would we be far from the main Cinema Hall? Well you'll just have to wait to find all that out!! ;)

i was the same way too getting on the Magical Express when DH and I went in Sept 07. It was our first (and will be only) adult only trip! It was my first time without my parents and Trents techincally first time (he was there when he was 5 but barely remembers it but for some strange reason remembered the line for space mountain and the fort wilderness campgrounds)...so it was really exciting to go and have it be his kind of first time! Course now I will have a hard time doing adult only since we'd had Caleb...I'd feel to guilty going without him!

This trip was Chris's technically 1st time too. He was there like 12 yrs ago when he was 12 and only went to MK for like half a day. So we too considered it his first time! the ME line was long but didn't take a long time to get through. Maybe when Caleb gets a little older you'll be able to take another adults only trip!
Aw, you guys are so cute. :)
Thanks!!

YAYY You made it! I love all your pictures even someone... cough Chris.. doesn't! hehe I'll be the same way this time. Last time I think we were both soo overwhelmed with everything that I did take a lot of pictures but not a lot of the scenery or the rides and stuff. This time I told DH I actually want to take pictures of all the buildings- of restaurants, attractions and so forth and he said ok.. so we will see how it goes! hehe :lmao:
I also LOVEEEEE ASMo Resort! It's my favorite value resort! Although I haven't stayed at Pop Century yet- so we will see if that changes.. in about 16 days! hehe But I love ASMo because of the giant disney characters and stuff- the other resorts have them- but its other stuff too.. I like it focuses ONLY on the disney movies! Also, I love the ASMo bathrooms! I told DH that if we ever have a basement witha half bath or you know- not our ONLY bathroom I would like to have a ASMo bathroom! hehe
Anywho.. great excitement pics! I know that the pics don't do justice for the way you feel- but they are always fun!!

Hopefully next time we go to WDW, Chris will expect the picture taking and not get so frustrated haha
Holy cow! I have never seen the ME line that crowded. Yea for your room being ready. I know how Chris feels about the picture taking. MeMom is the queen of getting left behind because we didn't realize she had stopped to take a picture and we just kept walking.
The ME line was crazy I was so scared that it was foreshadowing the lines we'd have in WDW.
Chris particularly would get annoyed at the shopping pictures I was taking...MeMom would have been left in the dust! :rotfl:

I don't blame you for only taking direct flights with your daughter, I would do the same if I had a child. The layover wasn't that bad for us but with kids I wouldn't want to deal with it. It stinks that the direct flights are always too late!
I was thinking the same thing. I thought maybe I had bad eyes. LOL!

I usually don't take SOOO many pictures on vacation but this time I knew I needed them for my TR so I'm happy I took alot. It would have definitely been easy to forget to take pictures because I was FOR SURE overwhelmed by everything.
I'm going to keep my opinions on ASMo to myself right now because I don't want to give them away before I write about them in the TR! I will say that we did like it though. The huge icons were soo cute! The bathroom was cool too!
Anywho.. great excitement pics! I know that the pics don't do justice for the way you feel- but they are always fun!!

I don't think so...I think you have to reload them in. But choose the setting that says 17 inch screen...it's a decent size. Even the 480 x whatever...that's the size I use for pics of the kids. It's still kind of small. I can't wait to see what happens next!

Ugh I just tried to resize them on photobucket and it was a no go. I will have to reload them all or resize them individually which will stink either way! If I delete the whole album with my WDW pics in it and then reload them will they show on my TR, the ones I have already posted?

Doesn't it help take the sting out of having to leave just knowing that you get to go back. We always have our next trip booked that way when we leave we can start the discussion of ADR's and what we want to get done on the way home. It makes it a little easier to drive under that sign when you know they really will "See ya real soon!"

:lmao::lmao::lmao:
I was waiting to see how long you could hold that in.
:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
It is so exciting! Actually, you'll be planning TWO trips before you go back. Yours in November and then ours together for Spring Break. :woohoo:
Obviously not very long! I couldnt handle seeing everyone's countdowns and not having mine up there! :rotfl:
How cool!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I wish it was the week we were going though! :(
I knowwww I wish it was too! But we're going for Chris's bday so we cant even change the week :sad2:
YAY!!! That is exciting!
 so happy!!
Doesn't it help take the sting out of having to leave just knowing that you get to go back. We always have our next trip booked that way when we leave we can start the discussion of ADR's and what we want to get done on the way home. It makes it a little easier to drive under that sign when you know they really will "See ya real soon!"
It definitely helped take the sting out of leaving. We were talking about going back before we even left! But thinking about all the things we'll do in November made it so much easier to leave. I would have been (and would still be) much more upset if we werent going back! I can't wait to start planning our ADRs and stuff. You guys leave really soon!
How awesome. I wish my DH was that easy to cinvince to go back so soon! LOL!
:rotfl: well when we have kids I'm sure it wont be as easy!

cool!!!!! :thumbsup2 you guys sound just like ray and i. our first trip together was in may 2007. i was sure it would be like 2 or 3 years before he'd want to go back and he said he'd go back the next year as long as we didn't have to rush so much, hence the name of my TR for that next trip, "our non-rushing (sorta) anniversary at WDW"!

How sweet!!! That's soo exciting for a Bday!!! Did you guys get a deal for booking while you were down there or anything? I know they have A LOT of deals going on right now through Disney and it made me soo jealous..like the free dining! I was like ***! Even though I got a good deal this time too.. But Congrats! That is awesome! Looks like Chris is becoming quite the disney fan! hehe
And you want to know something funny.. when you said you wanted tell us something.. and couldn't wait any longer- I thought you were going to say you got engaged.. hehe but disney is just as good.. hhehe:laughing:

I'm so jealous!!! I have to wait to go back...but, DH agreed that if we could swing it, he was all for going next April (before this past trip, he was the every other year kind of guy!) so at least I can hope for a year from now (actually, 11 1/2 months). I'm thinking of starting my ticker!

I barely get caught up with your TR and you're already planning another one?!! How great is that :thumbsup2 (that gives me a little clue as to how much Chris really enjoyed the trip even tho he wasn't too happy with the picture taking you mentioned in your most recent update).
You actually scared me a little with your surprise - I thought you were going to say you got engaged :scared: But maybe that will be a surprise for a future Disney trip ;)

Thats what I thought too! I did NOT expect that Chris would want to go back so soon let alone for his birthday! And I read that TR of yours (great of course) and I'm hoping we can do something like that. As in never setting the alarm in the morning! :thumbsup2

So when I last left you we had just checked into ASMo. We were checked in an to our room by 1:20 according to my Tink trip journal. Before we headed up to the room we stopped by luggage services outside and picked up the groceries that were waiting for us there from gardengrocer.com. I would highly recommend this service. Chris and I ordered a bunch of stuff for the room and besides the high delivery charge (which in retrospect didn't matter because we still got it delivered either way) and it was there exactly when it was supposed to be. We had one of the bellhops bring the food to our room on a luggage cart (we tipped him of course) and everything was there.
Our room was in Fantasia building 5 (the one with the brooms on it), 3rd floor like I had requested. The first thing I noticed when we walked into the room, besides this
http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u124/xoktenox/WDW%20April09/041-2.jpg
was that there was a bouncback offer already on our table!! I didn't expect one to be there at all let alone as soon as we walked into the room. I mentioned it to Chris but he really didn't give it much of a second thought. I knew it was too early to try and get him to book again so I shut my mouth...for the time being. LOL So of course I took some of the obligatory room pictures

(Yes, Chris needed to try and ruin every picture I was taking)
The bedspread

So by now it was going on 2 and we were STARVING! All I had had to eat were some teddy grahams on the plane and Chris had eaten a small breakfast burrito in Atlanta airport. We decided to head on down to the Movies food court to grab a quick lunch and also so we could buy our mugs.
Here's Chris in the elevator, happy to be at Disney!
http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u124/xoktenox/WDW%20April09/045-2.jpg
We decided to just buy one mug since I'm a water drinker usually and when I do want something other than water we usually just get one and share it anyway (because we're cheap like that ). We looked around a little bit and Chris decided to get Chicken Quesadillas and I got the adult Chicken fingers. We also got one mug and filled it with pink lemonade I believe. I did mostly succeed with remembering to get my food porn pictures this trip.
http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u124/xoktenox/WDW%20April09/046-2.jpg
You can see the anniversary pin Chris is wearing on his shirt in the quesadilla picture.
http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u124/xoktenox/WDW%20April09/047-2.jpg
I have to say the food was really good! Nothing gourmet obviously but it was good. The quesadillas were cheesy and the chicken was good while my chicken was meaty and filling. After filling our tummys we started over to All-Star Music because thats where our fridge swap's home resort was. It was a quick walk through the parking lot of Movies over to Music. On the way over Chris and I started bickering. I was trying to take pictures and book it over to Music while planning what we were gonna do when we got back to the resort. When I finally shut up Chris told me I needed to calm down. He saw how overwhelmed I was and he was 100% right. We had an entire week ahead of us and I was wound soooo tightly already I never would have made it through the whole week if I continued like that. We decided we would come back to movies when we were done getting the fridge and lay down for a little bit before we got ready and went out for the night. We had been up since 3am and needed to relax.
Anyway we finally get to Music. We ask at luggage services if they have a fridge waiting there for me. They go in and check....NO FRIDGE. I was really confused. How hard could it be to just leave it there waiting for me? They said that sometimes if the person the fridge was for wasn't staying at the resort they would find where they were staying and send it there. So the nice CM called over to Movies and then Sports to check if it was in any of those resorts. NO GOOD. At this point I'm mad because we wanted to get milk for our cereal and some other things and put them in the fridge. I had been counting on having it and it was nowhere to be found. So we headed back to Movies while trying to figure out what to do about this fridge. On the way back to our room we took a walk through the ASMo gift shop. In honor of MeMom I took some shopping pictures.
http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u124/xoktenox/WDW%20April09/048-2.jpg
I wanted to get this for Chris's niece but the smallest size they had was like a 2T and shes not that big yet.
http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u124/xoktenox/WDW%20April09/049-2.jpg
Some blurry autograph books.
Apparently thats all the shopping pictures I took right then LOL Oh well there's PLENTY more later. So we got back to ASMo and laid down around 3 for a quick nap. Chris was snoring within minutes. I shortly after fell asleep and within an hr there was a knock at the door. They had our luggage!! Phewwwwwwwww I was sooo relieved! I got up and opened the door for the luggage people and a few minutes later the other suitcase arrived. So I woke up Chris and we decided to head down to the pool and take a quick dip.

**Let it be known that I tried to make the pictures in the last update bigger with NO LUCK! I hate photobucket!! Well I'm sorry about that but later in the week before I update again I will upload alllllll the pictures bigger. Looks like thats the only way to do it. Now back to your regularly scheduled programming.**
(continued from last post)
So we put on our bathing suits and headed down to the Fantasia pool, close to our room. We get down there, get a chair and the pool is noticably empty. Still we walk in and get like 3 steps in and a lady yells "You're not supposed to go in there!" I step out and she tells us that they closed the pool because they "found something in it." EW. She said the lifeguards were doing a very bad job at stopping people from going in. Obviously she was right considering we walked right in until she told us to get out. So we say thank you and decide to walk over to the Mighty Ducks pool. We get there and its filled with kids; not that I expected anything less. It didn't matter though we just wanted to jump in and cool off and get out. After 15-20 mins of relaxing (as much as we could with screaming children around) we got out of the pool.
I really wanted a drink from the pool bar ever since we were over there before trying the Fantasia pool out. So we walked back over to the bar and sat down until we realized Chris forgot his ID. So he tries to order a coke and the bartender just kinda looked at him. So I interjected here (since I'm a loudmouth) and told the bartender he forgot his ID in the room. The bartender asked him how old he was and what his birthdate was and said ok you're fine. I showed him my ID of course though. Now granted, Chris does look over 21 and usually doesn't get ID'd at home but in Disney I would have thought they would have been more careful. Oh well, he's 24 so whatever. I ordered a Captains Mai Tai and Chris got a Poolside Lemonade. I was proud because he never orders mixed drinks! Then we realize we have no cash on us! So Chris runs back to the room to grab some cash so we can tip the guy. I try both drinks and don't really liek either of them. Mine was too strong (I'm kind of a wuss) and Chris's was too sweet. I drink mine anyway and in a few mins Chris is back with the cash. He LOVED his drink. As a matter of fact, he was talking to our friends about it the other night and how great it was LOL
We pay for our drinks and head back up to the room to change and get ready for our night ahead!!
Coming up: Downtown Disney night and a "Pleasant" surprise on Pleasure Island!

I know what you mean about being wound up. You know you have to rest, but you also want to pack what you can into the short time you have. That's why you just have to go more often, so you can have relaxing time without feeling like you're missing out. You know if you don't get to something this time, you'll be back in a few months.

DH told me very soon into our trip that I needed to calm down because even though I planned the trip for everyone, I wasn't the tour guide and I was on vacation too. Ugh I just tried to resize them on photobucket and it was a no go. I will have to reload them all or resize them individually which will stink either way! If I delete the whole album with my WDW pics in it and then reload them will they show on my TR, the ones I have already posted?
Just click select all...then uncheck the boxes of what you've used so far. The reload the other stuff and you will be fine. I had to do that 3-4 times while uploading my stuff. Drove me crazy!

I would be mad about the fridge too.. because you bought all that food and can't eat it if you can't get the other stuff to go with it. Since I read your updates while you were gone- I know that you got it... I guess better late then never.
I love the star light in the ASMo rooms! Its my favorite part of the rooms! ohh and the bathrooms!
I liked the Chicken Fingers there to!
Last time we went, we swam in the Mighty Ducks pool and like no one was there the whole time time.. they were all in the fantasia pool. It was especially nice at night.. but at least you got to cool off!

MeMom the whole time i was there i was like "must take shopping pictures. Must make MeMom proud." :lmao: Theres more to come!
I was soooo overwhelmed when we first got there to just want to do everything and not stop and breathe for a minute! I'm so happy we're getting to go back in November (most likely) because we can take it much slower and relax alot more. I wish I could go multiple times a yr like you!
I too, know about the being "wound too tight". Awww I totally know what you mean! If I was with more than just my BF I would have been the same way. I was more wound about getting to do EVERYTHING in the short time we were there. But I would have definitely been freaking about everyone being late for the ADRs too!!
i hope you find your fridge! that's really annoying.

I was soooo wound when we got there, plus over tired from being up since 3am that I really needed to just relax. Luckily I did. I'm so happy for you that your next trip will be with a baby! You will see WDW in a whole new light I'm sure after seeing your child experience it all for the first time. But you're right when you first get there I'm sure the overwhelming feeling will take over at least for a little bit! LOL
I can't believe ray gets ID'd more than you! trust me Dawn, you DO NOT look old at all! :thumbsup2 I would ID you if that makes you feel better!

The fridge...thats a whole other story! If we didn't fly I would get my own fridge but it would be such a pain with it flying and what not. I don't understand why people have such a hard time with what to do with the swap, its very simple people!!
I can relate to being wound too tight too. :sad2: A nap and some pool-time was a good idea! Hope you find your fridge!!
The nap and pool time definitely helped alot...and Chris threatening to abandon me in Disney World if I didn't calm down... LOL just kidding! Wait until you hear what happens with the fridge!
I think being wound too tight is a common occurence when we have spent months planning -- I know I have to try really hard to slow down and not spaz out the minute we set foot on Disney property!
Lunch looks yummy!!!
I think you're right, its impossible not to be so wound up after spending so much time and effort planning a trip. That mixed with the anticipation and excitement of being in WDW just put us over the top! You can stay calm CP, I know it!
Lunch was delicious!
I want one of those cute mickey towels! I hope that we get that surprise! We didn't get those last time we were there. I knew that other hotels did but that's exciting that they do too! :goodvibes That was the only towel we had made like that the whole trip!
I would be mad about the fridge too.. because you bought all that food and can't eat it if you can't get the other stuff to go with it. Since I read your updates while you were gone- I know that you got it... I guess better late then never. Yea luckily we would just bring our food that we wanted for breakfast or whatever down to the food court and get what we needed there. Still annoying!
I love the star light in the ASMo rooms! Its my favorite part of the rooms! ohh and the bathrooms! They were cool!
I liked the Chicken Fingers there to! Yummmm
Last time we went, we swam in the Mighty Ducks pool and like no one was there the whole time time.. they were all in the fantasia pool. It was especially nice at night.. but at least you got to cool off! I'm sure the Mighty DUcks pool would have been alot less crowded if the Fantasia pool was open. It was pretty empty the rest of the trip.
How was the weather? Was it really hot?
Great report soo far! :thumbsup2
The weather was PERFECT. Like low 80s everyday except Thursday and Friday it got a little warmer but still really great! Glad you like the TR so far!
I can't remember if already posted this or not, but YAY!!! for another trip! I am so excited for (and very envious of) you!

We got a towel on our bed the first day...but then nothing, where my parents got this after they left their first mousekeeping envelopes (thanks DIS)

It was made out of hand towels, face towels, and all set upon 2 toilet paper rolls, with stickers for the eyes/nose.
As we were walking back to our rooms during the week, we noticed those mickey towels in every room that had not been checked into yet so there's a strong possibility that when you check in they'll be one!

I was soooo overwhelmed when we first got there to just want to do everything and not stop and breathe for a minute! I'm so happy we're getting to go back in November (most likely) because we can take it much slower and relax alot more. I wish I could go multiple times a yr like you!
I hope you do get there in November. The weather should be great at that time.
My perfect Disney plan would be to go in the summer for a long trip, and then go for shorter trips in October to do MNSSHP, at Christmas to see all the decorations and because the weather is great, and then at spring break to regain my sanity from the school year.
That would spread out trips enough so that there would always be something to look forward to, yet it wouldn't be overkill. Multiple trips do allow you to have plenty of relaxation time without feeling like you're missing out on something. You know if you don't catch it this time, you'll catch it in a few months. Unfortunately, I don't think my perfect plan will be happening very often. Maybe some years here and there, and that will be nice. I feel blessed to be able to go at all, so I'll take what I can get.

I can't see your picture again :guilty: Anyway, yea the first mickey head towel was there when we got there and then none the rest of the week. I know some people don't agree with this but we never tipped mousekeeping so maybe thats why?! :confused3
I hope you do get there in November. The weather should be great at that time. I am already starting to plan so I sure hope we can go!!
My perfect Disney plan would be to go in the summer for a long trip, and then go for shorter trips in October to do MNSSHP, at Christmas to see all the decorations and because the weather is great, and then at spring break to regain my sanity from the school year. That sounds perfect to me. One day I hope you can do that, you deserve it! That wouldn't happen for me until I retire...and since I don't even have my teaching degree yet thats obviously not for a long time LOL

Thats how I feel about if we get to go in November. We will be able to just hit things that we either missed this trip or want to do again. There's lots of things we did that we dont feel we need to do again right away. I'm thinking though that if we get to go 2x this year its going to be hard to not be able to do that every year! :headache:

I definitelyyyy plan on living with Chris for some time before we get engaged. In this day and age I think it's almost necessary to live together first, in my opinion anyway. Well I've been studying for most of the day today (except for a break here and there to run and get my mom a mother's day gift, shower, eat dinner etc.) and it's time for a break. I'm going to be studying for the rest of the weekend because I have 3 FINALS BACK TO BACK (8:30-10, 10-11:30 AND 11:30-1) on Monday :headache: I'm not sure if I'll be back until after then, if I have enough will power to stay off the Dis that is, so nows a good a time as ever to give you all another update! I reuploaded all my pictures to photobucket and made them bigger. It actually worked out better because they're all in some kind of order now and hopefully I'll be able to find them easier now. Let's get on with the show!
------------------------------------------------------------------
So when I last left you Chris and I had just finished our drinks at the ASMo pool bar and were heading back to our room to get changed and head out to Downtown Disney for the night. If there's a dirty rumor going around that I was a slighty intoxicated after ONE drink, don't listen to it. It was totally false, I swear.....:rolleyes1 ANYWAY, thats just what we did. I made sure I didn't get my hair/head wet in the pool so I wouldnt have to go through the whole procedure of taking another shower (I showered before we left in the AM) because I take a really long time to do that. So we quickly got changed and headed to a bus for DTD. On the way I snapped some pictures of course. In order for me to have taken these shots at this time we must have strolled around ASMo for a bit because not all of these spots were on our way to the bus stop.

We were supposed to have reservations at Raglan Road this first night we were there. A few weeks before we left, I took another look at the menu there and realized there was almost nothing that I would eat. So I cancelled it therefore, we had no place scheduled to eat tonight. Also if my PTR readers remember we also had the option of heading to Magic Kingdom tonight! We had extra days on our tickets thanks to the 4/3 deal and MK was open until 3am that night (EMH). However, after seeing how pooped we were and since we'd been awak since 3am that morning we decided to just skip it. While waiting at the bus stop for DTD we realized we had probably made the right decision because the line for the MK was LONGGGGG. Anyway, we got to DTD and were hungry for some dinner! We stopped to look at the direction thingy/map by the Marketplace bus stop to see where the food locations were. Chris kind of wanted to sit down and eat but I wasn't sure there would even be room for us at any TS restaurant because we didn't have ressies. So after a little walking and talking we decided to eat here...
http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u124/xoktenox/Disney%20April09/064.jpg
I had heard sooo many good things about EoS here on the Dis and on allears.net that I knew this was going to be a good choice. The line was a little long inside but it was moving quickly. As I'm reading my trip journal right now I'm realizing I didn't write down what we ate! I do have pictures of it though sooo I think I got the Earl's Club or something like that (turkey, bacon, tomato, some kind of mayo I think) and Chris got something with Roast Beef and melted cheese. We got some macaroni salad to share but I couldn't get a good picture of it for some reason. Here they are anyway

So I had Chris wait for our number to be called to pick up our food while I went and tried to stake out a table for us. We wanted to sit outside but no luck out there. As I walked back inside 3 people at a booth were just getting up so I jumped on that table! Chris found me and yummmm the food was good!! Chris and I were both veryyy pleased with our sandwiches and loved the bread here. We would definitely eat here again.

So after our belly's were full we headed out to do some shopping in the Marketplace. Our first stop according to my pictures was the Christmas shop! Oh how I love it in there! Christmas and Disney are on my list of top favorite things in life so mixing them together, well it cant get much better. I knew I wanted to get us an ornament to hang on the Christmas tree this year but I needed to pick which one I wanted and there were soooo many to choose from! Here's the shopping pictures I promised I had more of.

According to my pictures we then headed over to Once Upon a Toy. I'm almost 22 years old and seriously, I had to try really hard to have self control in this store. I could have gotten so many things specifically the Disney Monopoly that I must have looked at 10 times wishing the price would be lower.

We ended up getting Chris's niece the cutest Winnie the Pooh stuffed animal in here. Its like a baby Pooh and its wrapped in a little blanket that velcros in the front that comes off. I didn't take a picture of it and we already gave it to her so I probably wont be able to. Anyway she loves it and tried to feed him spaghetti the other night and got him dirty. Grandpa (Chris's dad) had to clean Pooh up after that one LOL We kept on walking and went over to World of Disney. I've been in WoD before in DTD but I seriously didn't remember it being that huge. WOW. I was getting so overwhelmed inside there and I'm not even clostrophobic (sp?) at all.

We only walked around a little bit in there and just couldn't take the wall to wall people so we left. We knew there was no way we'd be able to concentrate enough to even think of something to buy although I did pick up a shot glass at one point that I wanted. I put it down though and we got out of there. In our Marketplace journeys we also went into Team Mickey but didn't get anything in there either. I really liked some of the Roxy stuff they had but it was just too expensive to get on my first night there. Chris found a nice Hurley shirt too but again, too expensive to buy so early in the trip. We kept walking some more and went down into the Lego store. I thought this was too cute to not get a picture of

We kept on walking and got to Pleasure Island. It was really sad to see all the clubs boarded up and dark. For anyone who read my PTR, this trip was actually supposed to take place in Aug/Sept 2008 but Chris got a good job offer that July and his training overlapped with the trip so we had to postpone it. When planning the trip for Aug/Sept I added the water park and more option to our tickets so we could do not only the water parks but the Pleasure Island clubs. Right after our trip date got moved I found out they were closing all the PI clubs. We were pretty bummed out because we wanted to try them at least. This guy was hanging out in PI
http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u124/xoktenox/Disney%20April09/091.jpg
Its crazy what all the people on stilts in WDW can do. I would totally be on my butt if I did half the stuff they do. There was a little show going on with the stilts guy and another guy was on the mic. They were playing music and picking random people who were walking by to join in. Luckily we didn't get picked. They had all the people introduce themselves and where they were from and were dancing to "we are family". It was cute and Chris was really entertained for some reason. He kept insisting we stay there longer and watch when I really was tired and wanted to keep walking! LOL So we watched some more and were on our way. We made it over to the West Side and saw this

http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u124/xoktenox/Disney%20April09/093.jpg
I kinda wanted to try this out and I had mentioned it to Chris before we left. It was something I would have liked to try but I wasn't dying to do it either. Well we walked right past it and Chris didn't say anything so we just kept going. No biggie, we'll try it another time (maybe November!!!!) Here's someplace we'd be headed later in the week
http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u124/xoktenox/Disney%20April09/094.jpg
So as we got down to DQ we could hear some live music. Chris has this thing with live music--he loves it! It was a guy and a girl at the House of Blues little outdoor area they have covering some songs. There were little tables and chairs set up and there were about 20 or so people sitting there watching so we each grabbed a Bud Light at the bar and sat down to listen. Normally I'm not a beer drinker but for some reason the ice cold beer mixed with the warm weather and live music made it taste reeeeally good that night! We sat and listened for a while and they covered "Ironic" by Alanis Morrisette and "The Devil Went Down to Georgia" by....idk and a couple of others. Let me tell you both the guy and the girl were REALLY GOOD!! Their Devil Went Down to Georgia rendition was EXCELLENT and everyone was getting really into it. Chris was in his glory!! But I was really starting to get tired at this point so we listened to one more song and left. There was a tip bucket at the front of the stage so as I walked away I threw a few bucks in there. They really deserved it!
So we started to make the longggg walk (seems extra long when you're that tired) back to the Marketplace because we had one more place we needed to stop before heading back to ASMo. Can anybody guess where it is? :confused3 I'll finish up day one tomorrow (I'm sure I'll need a study break, right?) and answer that question then! Have a great weekend everyone!

I had to laugh at the back of chris' head - because my DH has been watching me on the DISBoard and has already stated "Are we gonna be doing all that picture and writing stuff or are we gonna enjoy ourselves?" :rotfl2:
He's already made me promise I can't be photgraphing everything. Good thing I'm arming the kids with cameras too:lmao:

Did you happen to notice how much the balloon ride is? It looks pretty cool but I wonder if I'd be afraid. I can only imagine the awesome pics you'd get!

I love the Christmas shop! I have that Tinkerbell thing...you probably already knew that though. Haha.
Buzz! We always take a pic there. You are standing on my side too! :)
Haha love the pirate pics of you and Chris. Your shirt from VS is so cute!
Oh gosh, the Lego store. B/F has to check things out in there.

Wow.. what a long update! I love your trip so far and all the pics. I keep saying.. but its very interesting and I'm always excited to read more. Also, this trip report is VERY convenient for me.. because we leave in 9 DAYS! and reading this makes it soo exciting and keeps me occupied- so I don't go crazy!
I loved all your pictures of the resort. To tell you the truth I have never stayed at ASports or ASMu and I never really wanted to. I always told Austin.. the only other one I would stay at besides ASMov, and Pop would be Music and thats only because he is a geetar player! But I was always afraid those would be really outdated and old. I also remember looking at pictures of the ASSports food court and didn't like it. BUT.. as I was looking at your few pics from ASmusic.. it actually looked just as nice as the others. idk why I doubted it.. its disney for crying out loud. I especially LOVE the pool picture with all the palm trees. I'm a sucker for palm trees and so if my DH. He practically hugged them when he saw them for the first time! hehe :upsidedow
When I seen the Happy Anniversary ornament I was soooo excited! My DH and I went to Bronners- the worlds largest Christmas store in Michigan to get out First Christmas-after our wedding- ornament. But since we are going to disney for our 1 year.. this will be great. Now I'm even more excited to go to that store.. even more than I already was. Because christmas is also in my top to!
What is mob scene? Or what was the store you went into with all the pirate stuff? It reminded me of Pirates of the Caribbean ride.. and I don't remember seeing that store in my Disney book.. (I've made a list of shops to visit.. hehe)
I loved those lego piggys.. i think.. hehe I am excited for this store.
Seeing the pics from T-Rex.. makes me want to go there even more.. but idk when I'm going to FIT that in.. grr.. soo much..so little time.
YAY for Disney Quest! Excited to see pics and here about that! DH and I love it! :thumbsup2

What a fun update! You never run out of things to do at DTD. The Christmas store is my favorite, because we went there on our honeymoon and went a little crazy buying ornaments. So our whole Christmas tree is Disney stuff only, and it is tradition to buy new ornaments from the store each time we go out there.
We are going to try EoS for the first time on our next trip and I am so excited about it. Thanks for the great pics.

for some reason I have missed the last couple of updates! I loved Earl of Sandwich too. I am really sad PI closed. DH and I only got to go to the Comedy Club last time we were there and it was the first time I was legal enough to go to PI. It was a waste of our Water Parks and more tics since we never made it to a water park either! We were tired so we never made it anywhere else at PI.
Good luck on your exams. I certainly do not miss those! I do however miss Spring Break! :sad1:

It was alright though, I only turned out to be moderately psycho  Good strategy to arm the kids with cameras too! 62 days left for you?! The mexican lasagna recipe is on Dawns (punkin413) TR. Its reallly great if you cant find it on her TR just google it and i'm sure you'll find it! Its worth making! Glad you're liking the report so far!

Last Xmas all of the ornaments were 50% off! And before I went they sent me that offer...I could have bought a $1000 gift card for $600. I think it was $600. Maybe it was $700. Either way it was cheap. Had I known the ornaments were going to be half price I would have gotten that card and spend it all on Christmas stuff! :santa: Hopefully when ya'll go back they will all be on sale. :thumbsup2

OMG how on earth were u getting a $1000 gift card for $600?! Is that one of those AP things that I cant get? Everyday new reasons arise for me to move down South. Anyway, I can't believe they had all those ornaments on sale! They're actually not that badly priced normally but still 50% off means double the stuff. I hope they're on sale when you guys go againnnnn in August so you can buy lots of good stuff!

NOOO MORE FINALSSS FOR MEEE!!! I've never been soooo happy to be done with a semester of school in my lifeeee! :woohoo: :yay:
We were supposed to go upstate to see Chris's brother graduate this weekend but Chris didn't get approved for the day off at work because they're too short staffed. Sooo I'll most likely be back with another update this weekend too :goodvibes
------------------------------------------------------------------------
So when I last left you we were heading back to the Marketplace side of DTD for one last stop and a few people correctly guessed where....
http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u124/xoktenox/Disney%20April09/095.jpg
Goofy's Candy Company!! Yes we walked back from the West Side and Pleasure Island to Goofy's because I knew this was a must-do stop! We went in and each picked our treat out. I'm very disappointed in myself because I didn't take pictures of what we got! But I got the rice krispy treat covered in milk chocolate covered in half rainbow sprinkles and half oreo. Chris got pretzels covered in milk chocolate, 2 in oreos and 2 in sprinkles. These treats were HUGE!! It took both of us days to finish them both and I never even finished mine all the way, I threw it out before we left!
http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u124/xoktenox/Disney%20April09/096.jpg
http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u124/xoktenox/Disney%20April09/097.jpg
As we were waiting for our goodies to be done I ran over to the Christmas shop while Chris waited for the food. I needed to pick up the ornament I had bought. It was there being personalized so I ran over quickly and picked it up and met Chris outside. We walked over to the bus stop, waited a little bit and crammed onto a bus. So we're riding back to ASMo and there's this mother and her 2 young kids on the bus. The little girl obviously had a mild form of down syndrome and the little boy just looked pooped. Anyway, the mom sits down on the seat and has the little girl sit on her lap. She's making the tiredddd little boy stand! So I couldn't hear what they were saying but eventually she got up and let the boy sit and the daughter sit on his lap instead. The poor little boy was falling asleep the whole way home and the mom just kept yelling at him to like hold the sister better. Meanwhile, she was fine! She wasn't making a peep and she wasn't falling off the seat at all! So after the first stop at ASSp the person sitting in the seat next to them gets up so the boy slides over and the mom sits down. The boy has a big shopping bag on his lap and he lays his head down on it because hes obviously wiped out. The mom is yelling at him the whole way to Movies to pick his head up and that we're almost there to stop falling asleep! Chris and I were really so sad for these 2 children. We actually saw them later in the week and the little girl was wearing the same pants she was wearing that night :guilty:
So we got back to ASMo and walked back to the room. After getting ready for bed we both ate a little bit of our Goofy snacks and then passed right out! We had an early morning ahead of us at....ANIMAL KINGDOM!!! I was soooo excited to be able to wake up in Disney and have our first full day! Our wake up call was set for 6:30 because AK had EMH the next morning! Would we make it? :confused3
You'll find out soon because I'm going to start day 2 right now :thumbsup2

(continued from last post)
So Day 2 finally begins! As I said in the last post the wake up call was set for 6:30 in the morning. After our long, tiring day the day before I was a little nervous that I was not going to wake up in the morning. Actually, I was more nervous Chris wouldn't get up than I was about myself  Anyway, the phone rang at 6:30 playing "Can You Feel the Love Tonight." Does anyone else wish they could have the Disney wake up calls at home too? I know I do! While I was still soooo tired, hearing Disney music first thing in the morning woke me up! I quickly got out bed and headed into the shower, letting Chris sleep a little longer. I got out the shower, woke him and and we both finished getting ready. I wanted to make sure we were at AK by 8am sharp because I wanted to get in a ride on Everest and the safari before our 9:10am breakfast ressie. We finished getting ready and were out the door to AK by 7:40, a little later than I had hoped. Luckily, we got the bus stop and bus pulled up right away! Here we are ready for our first full day at Disney!!
http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u124/xoktenox/Disney%20April09/098.jpg
Within a few minutes we were pulling into AK! I love how the All-Stars were so close to AK and DHS! Anyway I took some pictures as we were walking in

It was RIGHT before 8 when we got there because I remember seeing some characters walking away from the opening show...I think LOL Anyway our first order of business was to head to the guest services window and do a little fanagling with our tickets. Like I've said before, we had 7 days of tickets with 7 fun days on it but we knew we would only use 4 regular days and at most 3 of the fun days. I wanted to upgrade the tickets to 10 days and then add no expiration to just what we didnt use. We walked up to the window and the very nice CM told us happy anniversary which was a nice way to start the day. We asked her about what we wanted to do with the tickets but she told us that we would have to add the no expiration to all of the days on the ticket, not just the ones we didnt use. So I asked her to price that for us and I think it came out to be something like $220 each. That wasn't really in our budget at the time so I asked her if she could just tell us what it would be to add it to the 7 day tickets. That was only like $117 each sooo...we did it! I was so happy with the choice to do it because I think a regular 3day ticket with the water park and more option is like $230 and we only paid $117 since we got those last 3 days for free anyway with the 4/3 deal! :woohoo: After a quick swipe of the credit card we were on our way into AK! We walked in and headed straight for Expedition Everest because I knew riding it early was the best way to do it.

We got over to EE and the wait time posted was only 5 mins as I expected because it was so early and EMH. In the queue I kinda wished we had to wait a little while because it was so cool! I did manage to get SOME pics

http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u124/xoktenox/Disney%20April09/108.jpg
We waited like 2 extra minutes because we wanted the front. I should have remember from the DIS that the back is cooler! Anyway we rode after a total 5 mins waiting, if that. OMG sooo cool!! We loved it!! EE is definitely on my top rides in WDW if not my favorite. After we were done we ran over to the FP machines and got one for a return time of 9:20-10:20 so we could come back after breakfast. Next we headed over to the safari!
Coming up next: 2 week safari...would we see lots of animals? :confused3

great update !!
:welcome: OMG I'm so sorry I missed your post the other day! We posted almost at the same time. Thanks for joining in, hope you stick around! :thumbsup2
How many people fit in it at one time? If 4 can...we have to do it on our trip together!
I heard about 30, we should do it all together!
hahahaha I can't believe I didn't catch that! I was thinking mob scene? What kind of store is that.. hehe I know thats not in the disney book. Well I'm blonde obviously.. hehe
:rotfl: When I was reading it I was thinking "if Jen's not blonde right now she certainly should be!" :lmao: It's ok, you know I am too.
Great update! One of these days we're finally going to get to Earl of Sandwich! It sounds so delicious!
I gave my sister that Tink for Christmas this past year! I think I got it on ebay!
Hope all is going well with your finals!
EoS was yummmm! I loved that Tink, I'm going to have to look on ebay for it since I was too cheap to buy it at DTD. Finals are done yayyyy! :yay:

OMG how on earth were u getting a $1000 gift card for $600?! Is that one of those AP things that I cant get? Everyday new reasons arise for me to move down South. Anyway, I can't believe they had all those ornaments on sale! They're actually not that badly priced normally but still 50% off means double the stuff. I hope they're on sale when you guys go againnnnn in August so you can buy lots of good stuff!
It was some random email they sent me. Quite a few people got them. I posted it in my PTR and other people said they'd gotten them too. Some people guessed they were "offers" sent after doing an online survey. I don't know. I asked my mom if she wanted to split the card...$300 each but worth $500 in the end for each of us. She said she'd never spend $300 at Disney! Well she spend $80 something on just that monorail! She spent $300 if not more! But the card at 40% off PLUS the 50% Christmas stuff would have been a darn good deal! Looking back...had I known all that stuff was 50% off I could have spent the whole $600 myself! :rotfl2:
Love the latest update! :thumbsup2 AK looks a little crowded for the MEMH. Was it still bad once you got inside? SO cool that you extended your tickets! That's a whole other trip paid for in advance!

Those poor kids. I'm sure mom was pooped out. I'm thinking she did laundry at the resort though. I hope. I'll propably end up doing laundry at the resort at DD has outgrown all her shorts this week. I knew when everyone was commenting on how much she's been eating this week(she usually eats like a bird) I was in for a growth spurt. eewww:scared: My pocket book sure hates those growth spurts.
I so want to ride the balloon when we get there. I think the kids will love it.
EE is my DD's must do on this trip so I enjoyed those pics this am. Why is the back better than the front?
I'm glad your semester is over. I hope you enjoy your down time. What are you planning on teaching?

First of all... I want that enormous mickey mouse rice crispy!! That looks sooo yummy. ::yes:: and I can't believe it is $50... wait yes I can. I am soo excited to make my own treat at the Goofy's Candy Co. It will be AWESOME! Plus, all of the snacks I've ever seen made look delicious! I'm glad that those snacks are on the dining plan. Just curious- do you know how much they are just purchasing them? I'm thinking of getting some err making some for my family.
I hate when you see parents treating there kids like that. It makes me want to walk up and smack them and be like "what is your problem?" :sad2:Plus, its sad you had to see it at disney..
the picture of you guys at AK, when you are wearing glasses- you both look so tired. Its a cute pic though!
Your pics from AK are making me sooo excited!! :yay:
When we went last time in Jan. We didn't have to wait in ANY lines except 1 and that was Winnie the Pooh.. and to tell you the truth- we didn't really care for the ride. It was ok.. but funny that we had to wait in line for a ride we didn't even care for. hehe and the wait was only like 15 mins. hehe

Wooo you posted! You better keep posting. Bryan and Anna will guarantee just sleep late on you while you force Scott out of bed and go to the parks or whatever. I just have a feeling LOL EE is sooo fun, poor Scott and his motion sickness and the safari is really cool. writing this to you is seeming a little pointless right now because I just saw you all day and will see you again at 8:30am....oh well!
It was some random email they sent me. Quite a few people got them. I posted it in my PTR and other people said they'd gotten them too. EE is not that bad!! It's smooth and fun! It does go a little fast but try it and I think you'll like it.
We wore some of the same clothes over too, but we did do laundry while there. I hope people didn't think I was skummy. LOL!
LOL you're not skummy! I'm sure your pants looked clean both times you wore them, not like that poor little girls dirty looking pants.
By the way you and Chris are the cutest couple.
oops. Dryer buzzing I'm outa here for now:laundy:
I'm sure the mom was pooped too but still, no need to act mean and like a child to your own children. I would agree that she did laundry but the pants looked dirty! Poor girl...
Good luck with the new clothes for your DD! I cant wait to try the balloon ride, if you do it we better get to hear how it was! EE is great, ride the back! Most coasters are better in the front but not EE, the back is so much better!
Thank goodness the semester is over and I did really well! I get downtime from school but I still work 4 days a week so not a full break. I want to teach social studies because I'm a history dork. And thanks for the compliment about me and Chris! I think we both clean up pretty well LOL
You're gonna love Goofys, even if you cant get the huge rice krispie! I think the snacks were like $6? $4? I can't remember but they weren't that bad!
I hate when you see parents treating there kids like that. It makes me want to walk up and smack them and be like "what is your problem?" :sad2:Plus, its sad you had to see it at disney.. Poor kids, we really felt bad.
the picture of you guys at AK, when you are wearing glasses- you both look so tired. Its a cute pic though! We were tired! I was making that fake smile on purpose too, just so everyone knows LOL
Your pics from AK are making me sooo excited!! :yay:
When we went last time in Jan. We didn't have to wait in ANY lines except 1 and that was Winnie the Pooh.. and to tell you the truth- we didn't really care for the ride. It was ok.. but funny that we had to wait in line for a ride we didn't even care for. hehe and the wait was only like 15 mins. hehe
January is supposed to be a quiet time, I think you guys should have good luck NEXT WEEK though too!
P.S. Teacher, don't grade my spelling or grammar - it's more of a keyboarding issue:lmao:
I didnt even pay attention dont worry!! LOL
Great update can't wait to see and hear more:goodvibes. NO MORE FINALS:yay::yay::yay::yay::yay::yay::yay::yay::yay ::yay::yay::yay:.

I love all the pics!! Goofy's Cany Company's my fav... the pretzel rods are so good! I hop you got to sit in the back of Everest too, you get flung around so much it's hilarious! I can't wait to read more!
GCC was soooo good! I tried Chris's pretzels and loved them too. EE was great and we loved it sooo much.
P.S. I hope you read this but you're coming out to LI this weekend? Where will you be going missy?! (I read your blog LOL)
Oh, Goofy's Candy Co. is always so yummy! It takes us a long time to finish our goodies from there as well!
That makes me so sad about the two little children -- I don't like it when parents are mean to their children like that! :headache:
So glad you loved Everest! It's a lot of fun, isn't it?
The goodies were SO big it took us forever to eat them all. The 2 little kids were just so tired and the mom was just a WITCH with a B! EE I think is now my fave right in WDW!
They're lying. :)
NOOOOOO
She's lying, too!
MeMom don't deter people from EE!
Congratulations on being finished with school for a while. What exactly are you wanting to teach? Big kids, little kids, one subject, all subjects? I know you'll be a great teacher, and you can put your little Disney touches in your classroom to remind yourself that some of the money you're earning can be for fun things!
I going to teach social studies because I like history like a dork. I would like to teach like 11th grade (because I like US history the best and in my high school at least, thats when US was taught.) If I teach HS my students might make fun of me for Disney touches in my classroom but I don't care! LOL I actually go for my 2nd NYS certification test on June 13th, this time its the one for my social studies area certification.
:lmao::rotfl::rotfl2:
I think EE is easier to ride than either BTMRR or ToT. I feel like it is smoother and over faster.
I agree Jackie!!
Love the pictures from the EE line. We usually do fastpass so don't get to see a lot of the stuff they have in there. And it's one of my favorite rides too. :thumbsup2
We were walking throught the queue so fast because there was no line that I was like holding it up as I stopped to take pics :rotfl: Woops!
I think they are all pretty much easy rides compared to the amusement park near me. (Cedar Point)
OMG my brother has been to Cedar Point and told me the rides are crazy there. Disney's thrill rides honestly, really aren't thrill rides. (ok maybe RnRC and ToT but thats it) We go to Six Flags Great Adventure in NJ usually every summer and the rides there are WAYYY scarier and bigger than at Disney!

Congrats on your great grades. You deserve to boast about them...I'm sure you worked really hard!
Ok, so when I started reading these boards, I read someone's pre-trip report and one of their top 10 things to do was get pretzels at Goofy's. I remember thinking how odd that was...to get that excited about pretzels. After reading about it more (and seeing all of the awesome pics) it is now pretty high on my list too. Isn't that funny? Except I'll be going for the rice krispy treats...or the caramel apples...yeah, I get it now! Great update!

Great grades girl::dance3: And good luck on that certification - but I'm sure you'll do fine. Nothing dorky about history. It's actually pretty interesting. My son, Scout, age 11, is dyslexia so school is very frustating for him - but he is making A's in social studies because it's fun and interesting to him. So you can make a huge impact on someone who needs a confidence boost.:cutie:

Hey everyone! Hope you're all having a great weekend. This is my first weekend of not having to think about school so that in itself is making my weekend wonderfulllll. The weather here isn't so nice though, only in the high 50s with rain on and off all morning. I'm off tomorrow so hopefully it will be nicer even though I need to head to the dreaded DMV. I lost my driver's license! I have NO idea where on Earth it is and I can't even remember the last time I used it. I went to purchase an adult beverage yesterday and couldn't find it, totally embarrassing. Anyway, hopefully I can get one tomorrow. I know that in a few weeks I'm going to end up finding it because that's just my luck but I need one in the meantime. Anyway, here's an update for you all :thumbsup2
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
When we last left off Chris and I had just ridden EE. Amazing!! We grabbed our fastpasses at it was about 8:30am at the time. We had breakfast ressies at 9:10 so we wanted to run over to the safari and get on it quick. AK was just gorgeous. I can't stress it enough. I totally got a new appreciation for it this trip. So we got over to the safari and walked right on. As we walked through the queue we saw a CM standing off to the side, directing people to where to leave their strollers. Chris and I then began a little game. We were thinking, "What a great job. Stand there on the line for the safari and tell people where to put their strollers all day...IN DISNEY WORLD!" So easy and you're in DISNEY so it must be great. We then started the "what is the best job in Disney world" game. So far, the stroller girl was winning. Anyway, here's some safari pictures. We walked RIGHT on. Literally a 3 minute walk and wait AND our jeep wasn't even half full. LOVE AM EMH!

Luckily we scared off the poachers and the elephant was safe. Phewwww it was a close call!
So while we were done with the safari it was 9:05. Perfect timing for us to head over to Tusker House for our character breakfast with Donald and the gang! Let me add a little note in here: I made dining reservations for almost everyday of our trip. We had no intentions of doing every ressie and this was one that I wasn't sure we were going to do. Well that morning we decided we would do our first ressie at TH. Would we do all the rest and regret not getting the Dining Plan? Or would we stick to our original plan and save a lot of money having NOT done the Dining Plan? :confused3
Back to the TR! We walked over to TH and checked in. There was already a line forming to check-in so I was assuming the TH breakfast is pretty good. We got our little buzzy thing and went and had a seat to wait for it to buzz. It was really such a nice morning. A little brisk but gorgeous nonetheless. They were predicting rain for later in the day but the way it was looking, no rain was in sight. While we were waiting I called the Mears number that the ASMo CM gave me at check-in to make a reservation for the bus to take us to Islands of Adventure the following day. I got right through and got us an 8am bus spot since IoA opened at 9 the next day. The nice woman on the phone told us it would be $18 each, roundtrip. Much better than last time I was at Disney when I paid $30 for a taxi ONE WAY before seeing the Mears buses and jumping on one to take us back to the resort at the end of the day. Anyway we're sitting there waiting for our buzzer to buzz and we spotted this going on on the side of the outside sitting area by the Dawa Bar.
http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u124/xoktenox/Disney%20April09/145.jpg
http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u124/xoktenox/Disney%20April09/146.jpg
A whole film crew set up, putting makeup on a few actresses. We had no idea what it was for but we sat there for a while and watched. The only actors we saw at the time were a woman and a young girl. I had a feeling it was for some kind of travel channel special or something which I thought was really cool! After sitting for 15 mins our buzzer went off! Time to go have some yummy breakfast!
We gave in our buzzer and there was a Photopass photographer waiting there to take our pictures before we went in to eat. I'm not going to post it now...you'll see why later! Anyway we walked in and were really stunned by TH. It was soooo nice in there! The themeing...well I really can't say enough about it. GORGEOUS! And the buffet was hugeeeeee. So we're shown to our seat by a really nice older male CM. What a great job to have after retirement! We were then greeted by our waitress who of course I can't remember her name and she took our drink order and poured us a cup of the best juice I've ever tasted in my life! The jungle juice at TH is soooo gooood! Then we went up to fill our plates with LOTS of food. I like how the line for the buffet isn't really a line. You kind of just walk in wherever you like or where you want something. There was soooo much food. Here's our plates

Honestly, we loveddddd TH! We're probably going to eat there again in November if we're there on a day that AK has AM EMH. The only thing that I disliked about it here had nothing to do with the food, it was our waitress. While she was really nice and friendly, she was slow. The waitress for the tables around us was around much more often than her. I asked for coffee when we ordered our drinks before the meal and didn't get it until I had finished my whole first plate. Then we waited about 15 mins just sitting there waiting for her to come with the bill. Besides that, our experience here was perfect! Loved TH!!
Here's the picture taken of us as we left...still hate it but better than the first one

We had the same problem at Tusker House. The food and character interaction was great, but our waitress was so slow and inattentive. I wonder if we had the same one? How cool so see filming going on. When the next Travel Channel special comes out you'll definitely have to watch for those folks.

Wonderful update. I didn't realize that TH did a photopass picture when you went in. Do they give you a photo to leep to then? I would like to do this some year, but we just aren't early risers. But maybe next year if we go.
I love the dining plan though. It saves us a bunch of money. BUT we usually don't do many breakfasts with it because 1 my family likes to sleep (the horro) and 2 they are cheaper than lucnh and dinner,so we get more of our moneys worth with those.
I still have a list of breakfasts I would like to try someday.

I love all of the animal pictures in the safari, especially the baby elephant. Too bad you didn't see more of the lions, but you saw so much!
I also love the pictures of you and Chris with the characters.
The food looks delicious. YUM!

This is my first weekend of not having to think about school so that in itself is making my weekend wonderfulllll.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
AK was just gorgeous. LOVE AM EMH!
....
I'll have to wait until I get home to see the pictures, so that'll be a treat at the end of the day.
Hooray for your freedom from school! :yay:
It's good to know that you developed a new appreciation for Animal Kingdom. I love that park! There are so many detail to take pictures of, and the animal are doing something different every second. If I lived close by, I'd alternate my evening walks between AK and World Showcase. I would log a lot of miles doing that!
The best job in Disney World for me would be in the education department of Animal Kingdom or maybe a tour guide anywhere in WDW.

We had the same problem at Tusker House. The food and character interaction was great, but our waitress was so slow and inattentive. I wonder if we had the same one? How cool so see filming going on. When the next Travel Channel special comes out you'll definitely have to watch for those folks.
Tusker House overall was great but thats weird that you had the same problem with your server as us. Maybe they just need more servers? It seemed like the other table next to us had their server there way more than we did though. but maybe we just had the same waitress! I'm going to have to keep a lookout for the next Travel Channel special! I have a little more to say about it in a later post too.
Hey girlie. Good job on the grades! I hope I did good on mine!!
Nice update! The safari pics are so good. I love the giraffes too! :cutie:
That looks like it was a fun place to eat. Chris is just livin' it up being cheesy for the camera...I'm sure because he knew you'd be posting it on your TR!
Thanks girl, I'm sure your grades are great too.
We got lucky and had a really good safari, I just wish we could have seen the lions more! TH is definitely a really great placed to eat, I would recommend it to you guys! Chris is just a dork and yeah, he knew I would be posting on here so he was acting even more dorky!
What a fun morning at AK! That park is really growing on me too. You and Chris look like you were having so much fun!!
I really LOVE AK now. I was sad we didnt get to start off our week at MK until we got to AK and then I didnt care anymore. We definitely had a greatttt morning and I can't wait to share the rest of the day with you guys!
You must have gotten the same waitress we did! lol
I went to the buffet and while I was gone my mom ordered mt coffee.
Well I ate my entire meal and at the end I asked her once more for coffee. In all it might have been asked 3 times.
I got it at the end.
We had the last serving so I took my sweet time and drank it hehe
 BrooklynnsMommy thinks we had the same one she did too. We either all had the same one or they just need more servers in that place. It was big so maybe thats why. Its funny we both had a problem getting coffee...I remember I had to like gulp it down when I was almost done with my meal!
We love Tusker House too. GREAT food and wonderful characters! I knew you'd love it!
You guys saw a lot of animals on Safari! One of these days I'm gonna go to AM EMH and do an early ride. I hear that's one of the best...and when it's raining a lot of them come out too.
Love the pics of you guys with the characters. They're so cute!
TH was so great I think we're going to be doing it again in Novemeber as long as there's AK AM EMH. The safari was really good too, I just wish we got to see more of the lions. I know they're really hard to see because they're not so active. I would suggest doing it early during EMH too if you guys can fit it into your always busy WDW schedules. Glad you liked the character pictures! I look the same in everyone LOL but Chris is a ham!
popcorn:: YEAH GREAT UPDATE. i THE WEATHER IS GOOD FOR YOUR DAY OFF
Thanks! The weather wasn't so great yesterday OR so far today. NOT COOL! LOL
Such a great update!!! We love Tusker House and can't wait to go back -- we had a great waiter, so maybe next time you will get him. I love your giraffe pictures!
Thanks!! I hope we get the waiter that you had next time we go because our girl was just sooo slow. Glad you liked the giraffe pics!
Yayyy tusker house looks good but now im gonna have to look and see if AK has EMH a day that we are there....Scott and Anna are going to lovvveee the Safari! Bry was laughing at Chris with the characters he saw some looking over my shoulder
Nicklassss...you will love TH! Just stick to the Mickey pancakes since you're the pickiest eater in the world. Worse than a 3 yr old. :) Anyway, you're all going to love the safari. Seeing the animals up close is really the coolest thing. Now I hope next time Bryan sees Chris he makes fun of him for hangin with the characters LOL
Great pics The one of you guys outside the TH is cute:goodvibes. Can't wait to see and hear morepopcorn::
Thank you, I hate the picture of us outside TH but I'm glad you like it. :thumbsup2

Yepp TH had a PP guy standing there taking everyone's picture and then a CM comes around during the meal trying to sell it to you. It seemed like it was a typical thing there. I don't want to give away if I think we should have gotten the DP yet or not. Its a big part of the rest of the TR! I would highly recommend trying the TH breakfast though and pay for it out of pocket. It was $18.99 for adults and I wanna say $11.99 for kids maybe? Not too bad at all.
I love all of the animal pictures in the safari, especially the baby elephant. Too bad you didn't see more of the lions, but you saw so much!
I also love the pictures of you and Chris with the characters.
The food looks delicious. YUM!
Yes I really cant complain about our safari because we saw alot of animals! Just a little bummed about the lions but oh well, just another reason to go back! TH was great, glad you liked the pictures.
Great update! You've convinced me to add Tusker House to my list for our upcoming trip. I'm anxious to see how your "test" came out with the dining situation.
Yayyy I'm so glad I made someone add TH to their ADRs!! Its great and you guys will just love it! Wait and see how our DP test works out.
Ohhh how I wish I could be on an early morning safari right now. :goodvibes Great pictures. I love the giraffes too!
OMG meeee too Sarah. Actually 4 weeks ago today I was at AK :sad2:
I'll have to wait until I get home to see the pictures, so that'll be a treat at the end of the day. I forgot that you cant see the photobucket pictures from your job! I'm sorryyyy but it will give you something to look forward to!
Hooray for your freedom from school! :yay: yayyy!!!!

Evening walks in AK and WS sounds like bliss!

Anyway we're sitting there waiting for our buzzer to buzz and we spotted this going on on the side of the outside sitting area by the Dawa Bar.
http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u124/xoktenox/Disney%20April09/146.jpg
A whole film crew set up, putting makeup on a few actresses. We had no idea what it was for but we sat there for a while and watched. The only actors we saw at the time were a woman and a young girl. I had a feeling it was for some kind of travel channel special or something which I thought was really cool! After sitting for 15 mins our buzzer went off! Time to go have some yummy breakfast!
Isn't that Kid Rock? :rotfl2::rotfl2: j/k wonder if that was set up for Travel Channel or something? Would be neat to know \:happytv:

I was looking for a breakfast place and Tusker House looks really good. Mike is skeptical about character meals w/o our daughter along, but I think one might be fun.

Your pics from the safari are great. It looks like you were so close to some of them. Our pictures of the elephants always look so far away...even w/ the zoom.
We tried to get an ADR for Tusker House for our trip in June, but I made the mistake of waiting until after the 90 day mark, so by the time I called it was fully booked for every morning of our trip. Your review makes me even more bummed because it sounds so good! We are going to Crystal Palace, which I have heard is great too. I will just have to do better w/ my planning next time I guess. So glad you had a great time!

Hey everyone!! Just a little bit of a "life" update for right now. First of all...
AMERICA GOT IT WAYYYYY WRONG WITH AMERICAN IDOL. SERIOUSLY, KRIS WINNING IS CRAP!
Can you say crap on the Dis? I hope so. Anyway, I was very happy that Shawn Johnson won Dancing with the Stars. All 3 finalists were really good and based on their dancing I think any of the 3 of them winning would have been fair. When I factor in who I actually liked the best, I picked Shawn.
So yesterday, me, Chris, my friend Nicole (who is on the Dis now! I've created a monsterrrrrr :rotfl: ibedancin824 is her name which she'll be so happy I told you all) and her BF Scott went to NYC to see...
http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u124/xoktenox/disney%20trip%2009/LKbway.jpg
The Lion King on Broadway! OMG when I say this show was amazing, its a biggggg understatement!!! The costuming, dancing, everything was gorgeous! A lot of the performers had to wear mask type things on their heads and then dance and sing and jump and twirl when them on. Coming from someone who was a dancer for over 13 years, THAT IS HARD! The only thing I thought could have been slightly better, and I know this is probably a little harsh, was the singing. I've seen a good amount of Broadway shows in my life (not even close to as many as Melissa but still LOL) and I just wasn't blown away by the singing here. Everything else though was out of this world. I highly recommend this show! We got seats in the orchestra section about 10 rows from the stage for $75 each...you cant beat that!
While in NYC we also went into the Barnes and Noble on 5th Ave (where I bought my very own 2009 Passporter!!) and the World of Disney! Of course going into the WoD was great because it gave me a little Disney spirit to carry me through until November, aside from the show. I went in there reallly looking for another photo album since I printed more pictures than I had room for in the albums I bought. No luck. Tons of frames but NO albums. Bummer. Then we went and ate at Ellen's Stardust Diner. 3 words.
What a ripoff.
Or is ripoff 2 words in which case it would be 4 words. Anyway, I've never felt more like I wasted $35 in my life. The bill came to $140 with tip for all of us and we have a better diner out here 5 mins from my house. The food was good but not even close to being worth $140. We could have been more satisfied with dinner at Applebees. The singing waiters were actually more annoying to me than entertaining and trust me, I'm not just a Debbie Downer. I'm into that stuff. NOT HERE. Of course because Nicole and I (mostly me) picked the restaurant the boys didn't let us live it down for the rest of the night. We went into the Hershey's and M&Ms store afterwards and they kept telling us we couldnt buy anything because we wasted all our money on dinner. Oh well, you live and learn. So then we saw the show at 8pm and it wasn't over until almost 10:45! We caught a train back home at 11:15 and I ended up not getting to sleep until around 2am and then had to be up for work at 6:15. I've been a real peach today, let me tell you. So thats my little "life" update. Stay tuned for another TR update sometime this weekend :thumbsup2
Isn't that Kid Rock? :rotfl2::rotfl2: j/k wonder if that was set up for Travel Channel or something? Would be neat to know \:happytv:

I saw Lion King here in Boston and thought it was great too! The music is just so awesome.
As far as albums...I bought one in WDW that won't be big enough, I know. But, at a local Hallmark store here they have some cute ones with Mickey on them. Now, they don't say Walt Disney World, but they're still a Mickey album.
