I hope you all will join me in my first ever PTR! I debated to post on the regular PTR thread, but I did my 1st TR here so I said what the heck, my friends are mostly here! So I hope you all enjoy! Please offer any advice in what I have planned thus far! Oh, before I go any further, this is a surprise, no one knows except you guys. So don’t say anything!!!!;)
Okay for those of you that are newbies and don’t have any background info, I will reintroduce the cast.....

Me, Jeff 37. A true North Carolinian who loves to travel! I work in the hospitality field so I have lots of resources for road trips and other vacationing fun. I'm a "planning nut" and you guys know that it’s a good thing to plan, especially if you are traveling to Disney! I grew up near the NC Coastline and about 7 years ago, I moved to the NC Mountains. I'm also a Pirate, an East Carolina University Pirate that is!!! I love the mountains and it brought me to the man in my life, my best friend and husband….
And here is my other half.....
http://i487.photobucket.com/albums/rr235/Jeff90_01/DSCN1743.jpg
Jon, 39 soon to be 40! And this 2nd trip to WDW is to celebrate his new decade! He has no clue that I am planning this trip! Jon is the master of hair, a hair God, the bomb! Just don't call him a "beautician." He is good at what he does! His appointment book and cliental is huge! If you called his salon right now, there’s about an 8 week wait! So, he is busy all the time with his job! Jon is a Jack Skellington fan and Disney pin trading nut! He also loves anything that is sci-fi-ish, horror films, and anything that is Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
Our children......

And I must add our girls, who I wish I could take with us! It kills me to leave my babies…….Gabbie 16, and Drucilla 12. Yep, their up there with their ages, but Gabbie, the queen, has her days when all she does is sleep all day and then there are days when she acts like she's a puppy again. Drucilla is the same and tries to keep up with her big sis…..they are so excited b/c I told them that their daddies are going to Florida again and Miss Leslie is coming to visit to house/pet sit for us! They love their Leslie and she is God Sent…..she knows the routine of our household and I feel so comfortable knowing everything is in good hands back home while we are traveling.
So that is us in a nutshell! You can read more about us in our 1st ever TR that happened this past January 2009. The link is my signature!
So what’s in store in this PTR? Well, you will read about my quick decision making process, plans and other thoughts, and my efforts in keeping my blabber lips shut for 70 something days. Hopefully, I will share some never before posted pics from our last WDW trip! (Oooooooo!) I hope this will be fun and entertaining for you all that are tuning in!

Lordy! Lordy! Jon is going to be 40 and I have to come up with some sort of celebration/surprise for him. I wanted to make his 40th very special and something to remember. Here a few options that weighed heavily on my mind the past few weeks.
About a year ago, Jon and I attended a 50th Birthday Party for a friend. It was held here in Asheville at a local, well know, resort. (any of you that have visited Asheville before, there’s a lot of resorts and spas around here) Anyway, it was fun party that was nicely themed with a DJ and dancing and lots of food and drinks. Being in the hospitality field, I have the connections to catering and DJ’s which I am SO thankful for. So, I came up with this plan to have a surprise party at venue with small cabins. With Jon’s birthday being in July, I was getting these ideas together to have something “outdoorsy, camp-like.” As I said before, Jon is a horror movie freak and the idea of having a Friday the 13th, Halloween theme type of party would be perfect. The resources were all there willing to help and plan. A friend of mine said she would be thrilled to help with the plans also and I had access to a list that contains addresses of Jon’s close friends and clients. So, we were on a roll with plans and ideas then all of a sudden, the planning stopped. Why? Because of a Disney TV Commercial!
You all know what I am talking about. “It’s the time of your life….lalalala.” The balloons are floating around and fireworks start to appear in a grocery store. When the commercial was on, Jon said, “Oh I wish we were there now!” Then I replied, “Well, we will be there in September, we just have to make it through the summer!” Jon had that look that was telling me, I wanna go NOW! He had that boyish 9 year old look also! So, I was thinking, should I plan a Disney trip instead of a party? We are already planning for September also! My thought was no way, Jon needs to celebrate his 40th with friends and family, and I have this cool party all planned out! So, I continued to debate on it to myself, party vs. Disney.:scratchin
Later in the week, I was cleaning out a drawer of photos and I came across pictures from a vacation 2 years ago when we went to the TN Mountains and rented an awesome cabin with a nice hot tub and game room. Jon was highly addicted to the game room with all the 80’s flashback type of games that were supplied in this game room. We did have fun on the trip and we had friends to come along with us to spend time together. We did Dollywood and other Gatlinburg things and had a blast. Here are some of the pics from that trip. If you are in that area, I have the info of the cabin resort we stayed at. It was beautiful! Very nice and peaceful place! The hot tub on the deck was wonderful!
http://i487.photobucket.com/albums/rr235/Jeff90_01/DSCN1559.jpg
We were on top of the world!
http://i487.photobucket.com/albums/rr235/Jeff90_01/DSCN1561.jpg
And they were pet freindly and it was Gabbie approved.....
http://i487.photobucket.com/albums/rr235/Jeff90_01/DSCN1621.jpg
The cabin itself was huge!
http://i487.photobucket.com/albums/rr235/Jeff90_01/DSCN1726.jpg
Just heaven...
So, I was thinking of another plan and rent this same type of cabin and have a few friends to come and join us for a couple of days of relaxing and it was only 90 minutes away from Asheville. So, I started looking on line for availability. And then it happened again....
Another Disney commercial came on again that night when we were watching TV. Jon mentioned, “Oh gosh, I wish we were going earlier! September is a long time away!” I came back and said, “Time is passing by so fast, it will be here before we know it! I’m just as excited as you!” Later that night, Jon got out his pin trading book and starting looking at his pins. Then the thought of planning a surprise Disney Trip for July came to me, again!
What to do?!?!?! It was a given. Disney had to be the part of the 40th Birthday Surprise and I immediately began looking around here on the DIS for ideas.
On my mind by this time was, “Do we want to brave the FL heat July?” “Can my friend help me out with some DVC points for a villa rental?” “How do I plan a trip like this without Jon knowing about it?” “How do I pick a resort that Jon will like?” "I have got to get a hold of Jon's appointment book and black out some dates without him knowing it."
Stay tuned….the answers to these questions and more plans are coming up!

After pondering day and night this past week, I decided to follow through with this surprise WDW trip. We both love it when were at Disney this past January and it’s a special time so let’s go and make the most of it. I know it’s gonna be hotter that “H E double hockey sticks” and the crowds will be heavy. But that is okay! It’s July, it’s gonna be hot anywhere we go!
I picked out the dates. We will be in WDW from July 7th to July 11th. The dates were set in stone and these dates would work at the best. Jon’s appointment book for the week has been blocked out. The only problem was Tuesday, July 7th. This is the day when Jon’s little “diva” clients come in for their “high mountain” hair do’s and curler sets. And one of those ladies is a Disney freak, so she will understand she will not get her hair done that week. Scarlett, my sister in law, is Jon’s assistant and I needed to let her know about that Tuesday the 7th. So, I go down to Jon’s salon and talk to Scarlett without Jon knowing what we are talking about.
http://i487.photobucket.com/albums/rr235/Jeff90_01/NewYork2009006.jpg
This is Scarlett, my sister-in-law, and Jon’s half sister. When Jesus was born, they might as well told Scarlett the Savior was born instead of the Angels then everybody would know in a much faster way! She knows something is up, but doesn’t know what exactly is going to happen.
I kept telling myself that I would not let anyone know about this trip, with the exception of you DISers. I was going to tell Scarlett about that particular week and just tell her to make sure that week was clear. Now, I love Scarlett. She is 22 and is Jon’s half sister. She tells him EVERYTHING and she cannot keep a secret. So, I tell Scarlett….”Okay, I have something going on this week (pointing to the dates in Jon’s book) I need for you to make sure these folks are rescheduled.”
“Why? Do have another romantic getaway planned for Jon’s Birthday?”
I told her that I may just have something planned and I really need for her to keep her mouth shut.
“Well, he is going to know something is going on with you taking away a day that he has booked solid.”
Then that saying from "Gone with the Wind" came to me and I said,
“Frankly, Scarlett, honey, I don’t really give a darn. Just clear that day for me please and if Jon says anything about it just say that you were told to do it and say nothing else.”
So, Jon comes home that day and the first thing out of his month is “Why are you in control my book for the week of my birthday?” And I came back with “Oh, it’s your birthday week and I have requested that week off from my work. Since I am working all of 4th of July Weekend, I have some vacation days to use so I decided to use them around your birthday before I lose them.”
Jon then got this grin on his face and said “Hmmmm….are we going anywhere?”:goodvibes
“I haven’t planned on anything. We will def plan something on your birthday though!” was my response. And the conversation stopped there. I was like “shewwwww!” good one, Jeff! If he only knew....oh, btw, Jon's birthday is the 9th. And his best friend's is the 8th and they always celebrate together.
Next up, Home Sweet Home!

I thought that choosing a WDW resort was simple. We all have our favorites and back in January, Jon and I both did some resort hopping. We saw the GF, the Poly, BW and others. It was an unanimous decision we would return WDW and BW was going to be our home sweet home. So what about July? Again, this is surprise and I want the trip to be all about Jon. Jon really never told me what his favorite resort is at WDW. So making sure I booked the right resort was important and I wanted Jon to pick it. So how do I ask when this is all top secret?
We were eating dinner and we got to talking about ADRs for September. (I’m sure I will be doing another PTR in the summer before our September trip, right after I complete our July TR) So it was easy just to come right on and ask him, “Honey, you are going to have to choose our next resort when we plan our third trip.” Jon did not hesitate and came out with a “Wilderness Lodge!” So, I got my answer. “Why Wilderness Lodge?” Jon mentioned he liked the woodsy, outdoorsy feel and he heard one of clients mention it and she loves it. So, Wilderness Lodge it is.
If it were me, I would be at the GF. Those hammocks…..love it!
http://i487.photobucket.com/albums/rr235/Jeff90_01/IMG_1524.jpg
The next day I was at work trying to get a hold of a friend that lives in NY who is a DVC member. He mentioned to me that I was always welcomed to use some of his points, of course I took him up on it and I would pay him for the points. So, I got in contact with him and within 15 minutes, we were booked at the VWL in a studio! Yippee!
I’m really looking forward to the stay. I have looked at every picture there is on the DIS of the Wilderness Lodge. Very pretty place! My friend, who made it all possible, is coming in the day we are leaving so I do hope we get to have breakfast together before he leaves. He is staying at WL too and told me that Jon made a good choice!:thumbsup2 Anyway, I am excited and it makes me want to tell Jon about this trip so bad, but I will remain strong! As the Go-Go’s use to sing….”Our lips are sealed.”
So, does anyone have any suggestions on things to do at the WL? I was thinking about having one day just to enjoy the resort. Maybe renting one of those little speed boats or just hanging out on the beach or the pool? I know there’s tons of stuff and I would love to hear your suggestions!
Up next….Thank you for calling Disney Dining…….

When you mentioned the trip to the cabin and how much you enjoyed it I immediately thought WL for your resort. I stayed there in 2005, I think. I really liked it. Beautiful resort. Much better than BC where I stayed in 2007. Unfortunately I can't really suggest things to do around the resort as we spent most of our time at the parks. But I did take a stroll through the woods, that was nice. I'm thinking about renting a boat on this trip. Sounds fun. Can't wait to hear the next installment. :goodvibes

Yeah, I think we made a good choice! And the cabin in TN and the WL have that same feel. This trip, I am thinking, is going to be less time spent in the parks, and spending more time are the resort and DTD. Just a 4 night stay just taking it easy and not rushing. We are curious about Disney Quest so we may venture there. :) Thanks for tuning in.....

Hey Zendisney!!!! Good to see you on here!!!! Im still learning the DIS abbrevations, I have to stop and think a little bit when I see something I don't know! Other perks of a visit to the Wilderness Lodge include: boat service to the Magic Kingdom, special guided tours of the resort, (one that concentrates on the architecture and landscaping, and the other is a "Tastes of the Lodge" tour that allows you to sample some of the culinary delights found in the lodge restaurants)

So last Wednesday, I had the day off and it was time to call in my ADRs. When I called in our ADRs for our January Trip, it was a piece of cake. We got what we wanted and no problems! So before I called, I made sure that I had everything in order with correct dates and times. Before I dailed up, I got myself prepared b/c I just knew it was going to be a long wait before I was connected with a reservationist. So, I dailed the magic number....
Thank you for calling Disney Dining! I followed all the prompts and guess what? No wait! I was not on hold at all and I heard a very freindly Spainsh accent voice. Bless her heart, I think she had a hard time understanding me as I was having trouble understanding her. I was on the phone for 40 minutes to make 3 TS reservations!!!! :scared1:
I gave her all the primary info and she said if I had been to Disney before and I said yes and it took her a few minutes to find me in the system, I guess. Everything was verified and I gave her my 1st reservation....
July 8th, Whispering Canyon. I got the time I needed which was 7pm. We were booked for WC for last January but changed it at the last minute b/c we were having so much fun in the MK, we changed our ADR to Liberty Tree Traven to recelebrated Thanksgiving. I know this is not going to be most romantic place, but Jon wants to do it in September and I am dying to try the skillet.....:woohoo: I got the confrimation number and went on to the next one.....
July 9th (Jon's Birthday) The plan was booking the Fantasmic Dinner Package with the Brown Derby, so we would be able to get see the show and not stand inl ine for it. Fantasmic is planned for 9pm that night, so I was thinking maybe dinner around 630ish. NOT! When I told the reservationist what I wanted, she only could seat me between 3pm and 4pm! :confused3 "Nothing later in the evening?" And she said, "Hold on and let me check...." I was on hold for 30 mintues.....but she came back to check on me throughout the wait period.... I guess she had get some one to help b/c something was not right. So she comes back and tells me that I have to take a time between 3 and 4....not gonna happen, so I told her not to book me for the Fantasmic Package and just put me down for 6ish for Brown Derby. She put me on hold again and came back 5 minutes later with a 6:40p time. :confused3 I already know I'm gonna call back and change this to something totally different......any suggestions on a good place for Birthday dinner???? Brown Derby had some great reviews, but Im having 2nd thoughts about it...:confused3
So, I give her the final ADR and it was for Teppan Edo's. Jon and feel in love with this place back in January and we want to return and get our round of bowing in.....we loved the food and the shop downstairs, it was a must to return. I got a time of 7:10! We love Japan in WS...I will have to control myself in the shop this time!!!!
So there you have it......again, I will be changing our Brown Derby ADR. Right now, I have a big X on that day, July 9th. I would want Jon to plan his day as he would want it. I know he wants to see Fantasmic, but Im thinking of just skipping it on this trip. I have no clue what to do....so, I need some help yall!!! Any thoughts??? Maybe Cali Grill and see Wishies from the top of the Comtempary???
That's our ADRs! We are going to be on the regular DP, so we will have some counter services also, and Im planning on using a majority of the CS credits in DTD.....I'm dying to trying Earl of Sandwich and the fried candy bar place, Cookes of Dublin....
Again, I would love to hear some suggestions for the special night on July 9th....
Up Next....Car, Plane, or Broomstick????

Just an FYI...
The Fantasmic! dinner package gets you some of the worst seats in the house! If you really want to do Brown Derby, you are much better off doing lunch, ask for the patio so you can people watch, and head over to F! early to get good seats!
The skillet at WC is awesome, although the place can be loud! Ask for the library if you want a quieter evening!
If you want to see Wishes from the Cali Grill, just go up for drinks! No need for a dinner reservation!
PM me if you need any help!

one time we did yatchsman steakhouse (great place) at the Yacht and Beach Club-
and took a boat over to the studios - it was pretty easy.
Then you could see Fantasmic
But the brown derby is so great too.

I think Mike has a good idea about just ordering a drinky-poo at California Grill if you're not looking to shell out the big bucks for a meal that evening. And remember, if you do get the hankerin' for dinner you can eat at the bar too, which also doesn't require a reservation. :) "Wishes" is great from up there.

Just a heads up. I have walked out of jobs when in the middle of training when they tell me "Now we are going to teach you our Birthday Song"! Some magic? Sure! Singing? Absolutly NOT!

Same goes for the Sushi bar, they dont take reservations for that, and you get a great view of the open kitchen if you like to watch that sort of thing!

Hola Jeff!
AHH! RENT THE SEA RACERS AT WL!!!!! Totally worth th $45! Scenic, quiet, natural...all at the comfort of DISNEY!
If you have time one night for Wishes, go to the beach at the polynesian and watch it there. It's quiet and offers practically unobstructed views of the fireworks. Or even from the beach at the WL, not sure what it looks like, but should be just about the same. Hope you have an UBER fun time there!!

Hey there sirjeff90! (btw, I think is so neat that our names are almost the same!!!) I wanna ride one of those boats so bad!!! I don't think Jon would like it! Last July, we were at the lake, and I rented a jet ski. I had access to a jet ski when I lived back in eastern nc. Anyway, I rented a jet ski for an hour and took Jon on his first jet ski ride. I put the pedal to the medal with Jon on back and sent Jon into a nervous wreck! Thank you for the ideas!!! :goodvibes

Hey Y'all!!! I hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend! Jon and I have a neice and yesterday she turned 1 year old!!!! And she took her 1st steps too while we were there at her party last night!!!!....This is Scarlett's daughter, the one I mentioned earlier in a few post back!!!! I also worked today and it rained, rained, and rained some more and we needed it so bad! The pollen has been washed away!!!!
Okay! I know the title of the post says it all! How in the world do we get to da "world??" Car, Plane, or Broomstick???? We are staying 4 nights at a wonderful resort on Disney property. Jon is going to be in pin trading heaven and I'm sure there will be lots more to buy to add to the collection and we do have to eat, and the cookie jar is almost empty and I don't wanna spend anymore on my credit card!!!! I did go overboard on our studio villa, so making up my mind on how to get there without going bankrupt was not so easy. I keep telling myself that this was special time and Jon is all worth it.....:wizard:
I planned on driving, just like last time. It's a 10 hour drive from Asheville, NC to the most happiest place on earth. I can handle it and its cheap....I drove to Atlantic City nonstop before so, I planned on driving us to Orlando again. 607 miles down and 607 up......:car:
I was thinking all about transportion this last week right after I made our ADRs......gosh, by the time we get down there, 4 more nights, we will have to drive back home! I hate I26 and I95 driving along the GA coastline is nuts with construction, my ipod does not have that many downloads to keep us entertained.....
I started looking online with expedia on airfare. I read the transporation boards and see what kind of deals everyone was finding. Everything I was finding was going to cost us over $500 total!!!!! I kept telling myself if I were to book us a flight, I would not go over $300 total. I know thats alot for some. Maybe I could pick up some overtime at work the next week or two....and my boss said, no problem there....we have just lost 4 people and we were at a hiring freeze right now, so my wish was granted.....work baby work!!!
Last week, our local news channel was doing a story on our local airport here in Asheville. They were talking about the current economy and how people were taking less trips and how AVL was offering nonstop fares to other vacation destination to encourage people to travel. During the news clip, the anchor person reported new nonstop flights from Asheville to Orlando! I could not believe what I just heard and thank God for TeeVoe, I pressed replay on the remote and what I heard was correct!!!! :happytv: Asheville was offering specials on nonstop direct flights to Orlando and other places.....so I checked it out....
I looked everywhere and found nothing "cheap.":surfweb:
I had a hardtime finding it on the Expedia and other "cheap tickets" websites for airfare...I only saw connecting flights in Charlotte that started at $288 per person :scared1:Thats no deal!!!!
So, I went out to lunch with my freind Amy. Amy is from NJ and she has to fly to Newark every so often to see family and she told me that she got a great deal on a Airtran. Amy was telling me about the deal and she said she left nonstop from AVL to Newark....cool!
"Was that on the news the other day...you know, they were talking about flying out of Asheville to different places nonstop?"
And she said "yeah, you can go nonstop to Orlando now too...." And she looked at me like I was going to say something Disney.....I refrained from saying anything Disney to her, but I did ask her "You got this on Airtran?" "Yep. Airtran dot com!"
"Check Please!!!!" I had to get home to see what I could find!!!!!!!!!!!
I came home and got online with Airtrain....and there it was....$149 per person to fly out of Asheville to Orlando! :woohoo: I booked it and it was just over $300 total with fees included!
No drive, we fly!!!! And the airport is 10 minutes from our house.....:worship:
So we are booked! We leave on a early Tuesday afternoon and we'll be there in 1 hour and 35 minutes!!!! So much better than 10 hours in our car listening to all the Duran Duran I have downloaded on my ipod!

Now, here is a pic that I promised I show.....remember that I am suppose to show some never before seen footage of our last WDW trip? Here is one pic....enjoy...

Hope everyone is having a good weekend! I will be back with more!!! I promise! I want to enjoy this weekend and I have to order pizza now!

That's really a pretty good price for airfare. Sometimes shelling out an additional couple hundred bucks is worth it instead of showing up at WDW worn out after having driven. If you use Disney Magical Express (which I loved due to it being so easy) it not only makes the arrival more interesting, but it also takes a little bit of the sting out of leaving WDW.
I got a little teary-eyed too when Pooh came to my table at the Crystal Palace a few years ago. Is it just me, or is Jon slow dancing with Tigger in that picture? :rotfl2:

You didn't hear this from me, but if you sit at the sushi bar, and chat up Youshi, the sushi chef, and act interested in new things....she will often throw you the end cuts for you to try new things! When I 1st got on line and looked everything up, it said $69! And then Airtrans books by segment, so it was times 2 for round trip! So, I though I was getting it all for $140ish! But I was happy anyway! It made a dent in my credit card, but Im happy with it......I don't wanna spend a total of 20 hours on the road though!
Im glad that I was not the only one that got teary eyed when I saw Pooh...now I don't feel so bad!

Hello Again! I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend! Again, I appreciate all the comments! You guys rock! :cool1:
I had a wonderful weekend and had today off from work which was wonderful and all day today, I thought of our "rough plan" for our special 4 nighter Birthday get away!
So, today, I will share my plan for Day One.......call me obessed, but in about 62 more days, we will be with Mickey and Minnie and I want to be ready for it!
Our plane leaves Asheville Airport at around 130p and should arrive around 3p. We are planning on using the Magical Express and should be interesting! I just can't beleive that we will be there in an hour and a half! No 10 hour drive! Yay! Anyway, Im hoping that we will get to WL pretty fast but I'm not counting on it. Some say that the Magical Express takes about 2 hours or so. I'm thinking sometime between 5 and 6 we should be checked in.
This day, I'm just planning to chill around the resort and play around there for a few. I am sure there will plenty to do at WL. I know I will be taking lots of pictures and just exploring and just chill out at "home."
Also, if there's time, I know Jon will want to go to DTD and head straight to the Pin Trading Store. :scared1: No, Im not scared, I just know that Jon will be in heaven buying new pins to add to the collection! This trip is all about him, so let him pin trade to his heart's content!
I'm sure we will be eating dinner there too or maybe grab something from WL. I'm hoping to go try Earl of Sandwich or head back to Wolfgang's Express. And I'm sure that Ghirardelli will be open and we will be dying for a sundae! I'm sure Jon will be getting something that is made up of dark chocolate or either coffee! As for me, if has nuts and carmel, I will be just fine! ;)
I'm sure we will close DTD down. Do they stay open late in July? I'm thinking around 11?!?! Just depends on what part! I'm dying to try that new attraction, Characters in Flight. Hopefully, we will not be too late!
So, that's day one of our trip! I know it's not that exciting or eventful. But it will be exciting to see Jon all giddy enjoy his trip! I'm still staying strong and have not slipped a word to Jon!

Sounds like my Gay Days trip. I plan on doing more relaxing this time. One of the reasons I picked the Poly. I was also thinking about doing Disney Quest. I heard the review of it on an old podcast and thought it'd be a good option.
I love DisneyQuest! I'll join you there any day!
Just a heads up. I have walked out of jobs when in the middle of training when they tell me "Now we are going to teach you our Birthday Song"! Some magic? Sure! Singing? Absolutly NOT!!
I can just see Mike walking up to someone on their birthday...
"Here's your cupcake. If you ask me to sing, expect me to spit in your food. Have a magical stay."

Hey Conckahuna! I hope you got your internet straighten out! About DQ, we are wanting to try it but not until our Fall trip.....I hope we enjoy it as much as you do!
As for Mike, I hope he is ready to sing for us.....we are planning to hit DTD our 1st day, so I hope he is working and we will hop over the lake to the SSR!

What a day!!!! Such an eventful day!!!! I was off from work today and I had so much to take care of! I had to run some errands for Jon and I also had to call WDW Dining today to change ALL of my ressies! (Stay tuned for my changes!!!!) Anyway, we were under a tornado warning this morning around 10am. I got up this morning and it was raining like crazy. I took care of some morning chores and Jon left for work. About an hour later, Jon comes back home rushing in and says, "Get the girls and go downstairs NOW!!!!!!!!!! I knew what he was talking about b/c just as he came through the door, our local news channel comes on and says that we were under a tornado warning and a tornado was spotted in a community about 20 minutes west of us! I was still in my pjs and I grab Gabbie and Drucilla takes off downstairs behind Jon. We have a 3 story condo with a basement so we got down there. I was a nervous wreck! Anyway, we had the TV on in the basement (acutally, its our family room) and our local news weather gal was telling everyone in the South Asheville Area to seek shelter! I looked at Jon and he was pasty white with fright. The girls were shaking and I needed a xanax! :scared1::scared1:
We were downstairs for about 30 minutes. It hailed a little bit and the sky was pitch black. Then all of sudden, it got clear and stopped raining! It passed and we were lucky! For a minute there, I thought we were going to be somewhere over the rainbow!!! All is good now, Jon went back to work and was counting my blessings! Our part of town was fine, just very wet and a few limbs down here and there.....very lucky!:worship:
Okay! On to my PTR!
Here is a plan for day number 2! Please note the ADR change!
I have planned this day for DHS! Its EMH for the evening for them so I said, what the heck, let's go there!
Somethings that I want to try that we missed last trip.....
Jon and I want to do the Idol Experience, not as a singer, but as an observer. I will leave the singing to OrlandoMike! LOL!
We also want to do the Disney Animation thingie. I can't draw worth a flip, but I hear folks really having a good time there.
Also, the Black Lot Tour was under rehab back in January, so we get our chance this time! Should be interesting!
I know Fantasmic is not going to show that day.....I know Jon will ask if it's going on, but we may just have to do it another time.
Our ADR for the evening is SCI FI! We loved it last time and I know I could not go wrong with it. Jon really liked it with all the Sci Fi "stuff" playing on the big screen, so this should be fun again for us! I can taste that sundae right now with all the M and M's sprinkled on it!!!!
We love the EMH option, gives us the chance to take our time and sleep in a little late and enjoy breakfast at our resort. Should be a nice day!
So, thats Day #2 in a nutshell! I know there will be some pin trading carts to visit throughout this day too! :rolleyes1 Again, this all for Birthday Boy and I want it to be his week b/c he deserves it! Esp after the frantic morning we experienced today.....
************************************************** ********
And here is today's "never before seen" pic from our last WDW trip.....
http://i487.photobucket.com/albums/rr235/Jeff90_01/image74.jpg
This was taken by a photopass CM while visiting France! Jon mentioned to her that she had fabulous curl in hair and that he would bring her some Kenra Hairspray for the hot humid Orlando heat! She just smiled and chuckled in character..."Why thank you very much you kind sir!"
Thanks for reading everyone! More to come......Peace Out!

It's Friday, I just got paid and I have a Disney Trip to pay for! I know some of you are waiting for the Day #3 Plan, which is the big day that Jon turns 40, but I haven't really made a plan yet for this day. I can tell you that I made all of the ADR changes and you will have to wait to find out what I changed! I can tell you that I am so excited! We have 2 more months and I gotta get my hiney in gear and work to make some Ka Ching!$$$$$$$$$$ You know whatta I mean? Disney is not cheap!
I have opened up my ebay store again and it's going pretty well. I know I can't really talk about what I am doing there, but I can say that it helps with the funding for this trip! It's a lot of extra work. I have to send out packages which means I have to stop by the post office every other day. There's always a huge line there and plus postal rates are going up starting on Monday! I guess the line waiting at the post office will be good practice for July! :lmao:
Also, I have started cleaning out my closets. It's time to have a yard sale! I don't know about you guys, but us N. Carolinians love a yard sale and I will be having one. I told Jon that he needed to get his "junk" together b/c we are having a yard sale! We have so much clothing to get rid of and hoping I can sell it at our yard sale and what I can't sell will be going to Good Will. Jon and I lost about 70 lbs. each in the past couple of years just cutting back our fat in take and I'm now a 36 in the waist! So, I have all these clothes that are too big for me and hopefully there's someone out there that needs some good stuff! I hope by the end of May, I will have done my yard sale.....so stay tuned for the results!!!
I hope everyone has a good weekend! I have to work tomorrow! Ugh! So, I am hoping that I have sometime to jot down a few more plans to share with y'all soon! I promise!

Me! For best actor in a "keeping a secret role!" :lmao: With it being Mother's Day, I called my mother last night and I filled her in on what's going on......and here's how the conversation went....
Mom: So you two are going again?!?!?!?!
Me: Yes mam....we are going again......
Mom: Why not the beach? Then you can stop by and see your mother and the rest of your family on the way there!
Me: Well....I.......
Mom: Don't give me that bull! Just have fun and be careful...
Me: We will.....just don't say anything about this trip...no one knows and I want it to be a surprise!
Mom: Well...Jon doesn't know. I know this for a fact.....
Me: Really?
Mom: Yep! He thinks y'all are going to beach.....he knows that you have marked his book for that time....
Me: Uhuh...and what else did he say????
Mom: Well...I told him that I was ready to see you two and I asked him the other day when I called him when were y'all coming back to see us and he said...."Oh, around July on my birthday....."
Me: hmmmmmm....okay! Why did you call him?
Mom: Oh...I had to call him for some help with my hair and I had your anut to help me with highlights.......
And the conversation went on talking about her hair....
That would be my mom! She loves the fact that she now has a son-in-law that is hair stylist....she gets all the benefits and just loves it. Anyway!!!! I am so glad that she did call.....I think it was meant to be for this trip to be a surprise!!! Yay!!! Now that she knows, I hope she doesn't get all giddy and slip with the surprise.
So, last night, (And I can slap myself b/c I can't fib to Jon) I asked Jon did he have fun the other day helping my mom with her "at home highlights help." He said, yeah, and I meant to tell you that I talked to her...she called me b/c she wanted some highlights and I told her over the phone that I would try to help her the best I can....blah blah....And she wants us to go see her.....I told him that I know and we would very soon!!!! Jon just looked at me and winked.....he gave me the look like he knows his surprise already! :rotfl:
I am so happy to hear that Jon thinks we are going to beach for his birthday. Gosh, will he be surprised!!!!! :goodvibes
Okay...I have to get ready and shower. We are taking my mother in law to lunch today for Mother's Day and I rather much be doing something else! I know that is awlful to say.....That's a whole different story there.....;)
To all you Mother's out there.....Happy Mother's Day!!!!!!

Hello Everybody!!! I hope everyone is doing well. Seems like I lost some of ya, but maybe you all are lurking. I use to be lurker on these parts now I got up the nerve to share. I hope you all are enjoying the thread!
What a week this has been! I have been really busy with my "2nd Jobs" so this surprise trip will be a huge success! I know it will be wonderful and the way that time is passing by, it will be here before we know it!
Before I "lay out" the Day 3 plan, I thought I would give you all an update on how things are going....

I called last week and got the Magical Express all book for our arrival. I hope that it doesn't take too long like everyone talks about! Any of you guys wanna share your Magical Express, please feel free. I would love to hear them!
Jon is still clueless......doesn't have a clue at all. Just cross your fingers that I don't slip!
Okay...on to Day 3's plan...
This will be the big day that Jon turns 40 and I want it to be perfect and I know it will! I may need some help from you guys, so feel free to let me know! I would love some help and tips! I have some ideas already, but have no idea where to go.
I know we will be eating breakfast somewhere 1st thing. Maybe at WL or somewhere else. I know we will be visiting either AK or Epcot. I am thinking maybe AK 1st thing. We missed the Safari last time and don't wanna miss this time. Last time, we were having a blast on Everest, we keep riding and riding until the Safari closed for the day. Also, we want to catch the Lion King show. I hear it's awesome. :)
Sometime in the afternoon we are gonna have to head back to the room to change for dinner. We have a ADR at 530p at.....drum roll please......Yatchmen's Steakhouse!!!! I orginally booked Brown Derby but I changed it the other week! I am so excited! :goodvibes I decided to take Orlandomike's word and give it try! With such a early ADR, we will have time to enjoy WS and FW at Epcot later that evening. FW has EMH scheduled! :goodvibes One question, do you think it will be okay to wear a nice pair of shorts with a nice polo shirt for dinner? I know YSH is a signature restuarant and there's a dress code so I hope that will work.
I am hoping that one of my plans will work on this day too. I have a plan to do something "cutesy" for Jon's bday......and I wonder if I can make it work. I was thinking about having our room decorated while we are out for the day. I have read about it on here and I know there's a way to have it done. I know it will be expensive.....do I ask the FD for help at the WL? Or do I call the Disney Florist for help? Not sure what to do....I was thinking that I would buy all the decorations here and maybe have someone at WL take care of it while we are out for the day? Not sure what to do here..... Suggestions or ideas????
I also thought about a special cake being ordered and made. Am I correct that I heard there is bakery that specializes in birthday cakes that's in the YC resort and they can help me? Not sure what to do there either......I would love to get some kind of cake decorated with Jack Skellington on it or maybe another villian. Jon is so into the villian characters at Disney.....
So there's my plan for Day 3! Again, I am thrilled to get YSH and can't wait to try it! I am sure you all will be reading about it when I make my 2nd TR!

As for the shorts at YSH .... I don't think those are allowed and even if they are, I'd wear slacks. As I recall it was a dressy place.
For the cake and room decorations, the people on the podcast always recommend a company called Gifts of a Lifetime (http://www.giftsofalifetime.com/). Give them a call and see what they can offer. It's probably pricey though ... but less expensive than Disney.

Have you tried going onto usps.com - paying and printing everything out online? Then you can just take it to the post office or give it to your postal carrier.
Oh yeah, I do all the shipping and labeling at home. I never can catch my mail man...I always have to stop by the post office.....

Ask for Wally's advice on that.
He's become quite adept at snaring mail men, and plumbers, and cable guys, and meter readers, and . . . well just about any service provider he can lure over to his house. :rotfl2:

Still with you buddy...it's just that everytime I see that cake I get hungry...I've got nothing in my desk drawer to compare...:sad1:
My experience with DME was easy breezy. I arrived at MCO at about 4:30 pm and was off to the resort no more than 40 minutes later. My suitcase arrived while I was out at the park watching Wishes.
I love DME and think it's one of the best perks of staying onsite.
What about a room service breakfast for Jon's birthday? I love having someone bring me coffee while I'm still wrapped in a sheet in bed!
James does this for me every single day! (I know...I'm a very, very lucky girl)
But seriously, I love me some room service on vacation!

Good to hear about the Magical Express...that makes me feel better, I have been hearing some horror stories!
Good idea about the room service.....I am always the 1st to get up so I can do my own sort of room service without spending dining credits or a lot $. ;) Jon loves his coffee every morning.....

Hello!!!!! I hope everyone is doing well!
Thanks again everyone for you private messages with suggestions and help! So good to have the DIS for help!
I figured that I would let everyone know about our Day 4 plan. This will be the final day. The next day, we will be leaving sort of early so this day will have to be fun and something I know we want to both enjoy.
This day will be MK Day. MK has extra Magic Hours and according to the hours, it will be open pretty late. So this will be good day just to take in MK an enjoy all the things we love. On our last trip, we ended up in the MK late in the day and like everyone else on here, we love it at night. I know we will be catching Wishes again. I do wanna another dole whip. Jon will want to ride Haunted Mansion about a dozens times again, he loves it. I do too, but I want Splash Mountain! Anyway....this day will be devoted to MK. We do have an ADR at 530 for Whispering Canyon. I'm still trying to decide to ask for the Library area or just have them seat us in the main area....I guess it depends if we are in the mood for ......so wait and see what happens when I do my TR when we come back.
My gosh, we have 51 days before we leave. That maybe a lot for some, but the way that time is passing by, it will be here quickly.
So everything is taken care of. I am so anxious now. Not sure when I am going to break the surprise to Jon, but I do have a plan on how I am gonna do it, so you guys will have to stayed tuned and find out! I do plan on telling him right before the July 4th holiday! :goodvibes
Have a good weekend everyone!

Happy Monday Everyone! It was actually my Sunday today. I figured that I would make a post now b/c I have a hetic week starting tomorrow!
Here is the plan on how I will let Jon know the surprise......
I was on Ebay and found what I needed. I bought some Mickey ear shaped balloons. I actually got them really cheap. It's amazing what you can find on there.....anyway, on Friday July 3, Jon will come to work and see one of the balloons blown up with a invitation tied to the end. I will place it at his work station tied to his hair dyer!!! I also plan to have Disney music playing on the stero system in Jon's shop and having it turned up loud. He will be the 1st one that morning! :goodvibes
I got the idea from the TV commericals that advertises Disney, all the balloons that float in the air with the invitations tied the the end of the balloon strings....so I thought it would be cute to do this!
I have to get up really early that morning to take care of this. I also have to sneak the spare key to Jon's shop so I can get in that morning! It will be a fun day on that particular day, I'm sure Jon's co-workers will be celebrating his birthday also.:wizard:
Jon is still clueless, he thinks we are going to my hometown which is near the beach! No one knows except me and Mom! I am so proud of myself that I have not slipped the word! I hope I can continue for 5 weeks.....

Wow! It's been awhile now since I last posted anything to this PTR. I hope everyone is doing well! The last couple of weeks have been a little hectic with Memorial Day, many friends celebrating birthdays, and my best friend had her baby so I have been spending a lot time working and celebrating! It's all good! The past 2 days, Jon has been really sick with the stomach virus and he returned to work today. Thank God he is doing better! He was so sick! So far, I am doing fine and show no signs of the bug....(knock on wood!) God, I hope I don't get it!!!! Anyway!!!!!
I have started the official countdown and in about 30 days, we will be flying out ready to celebrate Jon's 40th!!!! I am excited! And as of this very minute, he still has no clue what is going to happen. All I got to say is so proud of myself for not slipping with the surprise! Many of you have commented that you can't keep a secret or surprise, but I have done very well. The only one that knows is my mom, my DVC friend, and you guys.
Jon still thinks he is visiting my hometown, which is near the NC Coastline. We were eating at Chili's last week and we were talking. I told Jon that we needed to be working on our base tans so we would not get severely sun burned this summer. Jon replied "Yeah, I don't wanna be sunburned at the beach while celebrating my birthday....." I just looked at him with food in my mouth and acted like I was shocked. So, I played along with him. "How did you find out Mister Know it All?" Then he said, "Oh Honey, I just knew it. I had that feeling. Your mom called me awhile back and I just have that feeling we are going out that way!" I continued to act dissappointed that he found out my secert. He keep on saying, "I'm sorry but you would have slipped and told me anyway!" Later on, he was talking to his sister and kept bragging that he was going to the beach for his birthday. Well, I hope he doesn't get disappointed now when he finds out that we are heading south to Orlando!
Here's an update on what's going on with our plans......
I have decided to change a few things. I could not make up my mind at all!!! I am keeping our ADRs, but changing our park plans. Why? Well, I got inspired by this one couple, who also stayed at WL, who didn't go to the parks at all. They just kicked back and relaxed and enjoyed WL. Sounds nice, but I have gotta have some park time and so does Jon. So, I got to thinking and jotting down different things and now I have changed some things......
After thinking long and hard, I purchased our tickets for our return visit. I have purchased 2 Days with Hopper and water parks/Disney Quest admission. There was another couple's TR I was reading who did the same thing. Not being a copy cat, I took some of their ideas. You will have to stayed tuned and I will let you all know my new plans!
I received my Mickey Balloons from my ebay seller! They are really cool and they look just like the ones on the commercials for Disney and the "Celebrate" advertisements. I am using some of the balloons for my surprise revealing and hopefully some for our room at WL when we arrive! Yay! I am so excited!! Maybe I can buy a toy sand pail with shovel and tie the balloons to it and have the card read "Thought you were going to beach, huh????"
Thanks for tuning back in. Next time, I will have a finalized itinerary ready to share!
And I would love hear about your experiences at any of the water parks and Disney Quest....I hope they are good ones!!!
See ya later taters!!!!

I won free tickets to DisneyQuest once, thought I would be in an out in an hour! 8 hours later I left and had a blast! I loved it!
I've also spent a lot of time at both water parks and I would sum them us as this.
If your looking for thrills, go to Blizzard!
If your idea of fun is relaxing on a beach under an umbrella with a drink in your hand, try Typhoon.
Both have slides. Blizzards are bigger and faster. But the wave pool, Sharks reef, and the new Crush and Gusher make Typhoon the place for me!
Sounds like your plans are comming along great!

DisneyQuest is amazing, we hit it every time we go. We still haven't been to either waterpark but we're planning on going to Typhoon Lagoon this trip. I think I might have to track down some of those balloons myself, they sound perfect for surprises! Somehow, I have this crazy feeling that Jon won't be terribly upset at missing out on beach time. :rotfl:

Awww you're staying at our favorite place.
Last year I got two nights at the Lodge and did a reverse proposal with Kari. I talked with one of the managers there, and he arranged for us to be on the rooftop during Wishes. Of course, they don't normal go to the rooftop at night, so I didn't know how much time to have to get up there, and well we ended up there like 5 mins before hand.
And all our friends we were walked up before we got there. I took her out to watch the electric water pagent at 9:35 and then as we were walking through the lobby we were "stopped and asked if we would like a magical surprise". After the fireworks, and watching the EWP again that was in front of the contemp, we got to sit and relax on the 7th floor. And the manager that helped me provided two amazing cakes, one chocolate, one white adn two bottle of sparkling cider (since I told him kari didn't drink). And a good friend also brought a bottle of mt dew.
I managed to slip two grand under her nose for the whole thing. (1600 on two rings). And it was in the planning for like 4 months. And the only time she got suspicious was that evening when I told her to change into something nicer and her friend came to meet up with us. (I told her we were going to PI to the adventurer's club since it was closing).
I've got pics... eventually they'll get on my computer.

So, how's the secret holding out? Cracking yet? :rotfl: It's getting so close for both our trips, can't wait! I keep staring at the calendar! :cloud9:
The secret is still holding and it's getting crazy!!!! I came so close to telling him last night. He had a hellicous day and I wanted to just tell him right then, but I kept my mouth shut! Now, we are talking about the "beach trip"...beach this, and beach that. He really thinks we are heading to the coast! He went to old Navy and bought a new hoodie that is made with a light material and showed me and said "I got this for our walks on the beach at night!" He has no clue.....
Im gonna be looking for you guys! I will looking for the lime green!

Hey there Sandra! What a cool story! And I would love to see the pics if you ever get them up! How cool to be on the roof! And speaking of cake, I have to order Jon's cake. I have been studying the cake thread and trying to figure out what I can do. I have to call the "cake hotline" soon. I hoping they can do a Jack Skellington cake......Thanks for sharing your story!!!!!

Disney can do just about anything with like a 48hr advanced order. My only problem was how expensive it was going to be for the special cake. And since I didn't order one, he provided it for us. Although I had a friend bring a ice cream cake (cause that's Kari's favorite cake). It was sorta melting by the time we got to it... they weren't planning on us watching the EWP as well. But that meant we had left overs to nibble on the rest of the trip.
The worst freaking out moment was as we were walking to the lobby, I saw every one walking up because some of the flood lights are on the roof in that section and I saw thier shadows. If you look up the side stairs in the lobby you'll see one at the very top that only has a small little balcony. It kinda sticks out of no where. There's a stairwell on the inside, you get to the top and go on the open stairwell, to the rooftop door. There's like 3 large AC units or something up there and the five flag poles. There's actually quite a bit of room up there, and since it's set down into the roof, the edge is like 3ft tall. And you can't really see the ground directly below you, so you don't realize you're like 10 floors up.
here's from our room view:

Unfortantly I never uploaded all my pictures to the computer, I just uploaded some to transfer to a CD to take with me for an interview. One of our friends is also a photopass photographer, well actually two of em were, so they took the pictures for us.
And our friend at the time was supposed to be video taping and there's only 4 minutes of tape... at the very beginning when we were waiting for the fireworks to start, and at the very end when me and kari were standing there watching the end of the fireworks.
Definatly one of the embarrasing moments of my life thing, who knows how often I would ever let any one watch the tape... but I'm still angry she didn't record it.

Well, all I have to say is that I am pretty "darn" proud of myself. For a long time, I have keep Jon's birthday surprise a secret. It was one of the hardest things I have ever done, besides trying to finish college! ;) Anyway, last night "it" happen and this is how it went....
Jon has had some tiresome days at his work. He has been handling a lot with his salon. So in addition to taking care of his clients, he has been dealing with a lot stress of the actual "business part" of his salon and dealing with his business partner, etc. Anyway, we went out to dinner and he kept saying that he was so ready for our "beach trip" and was ready to get out of Asheville for few days. I agreed with him.I was going to be happy this time next week! We both have the whole week off from work! I have been swamped at work and our busy season just got a little more hetic. All is good though!
Anyway, we returned home after stopping by the grocery store. We got settled in for the night and then Jon asked me about our ADRs for our September Trip. Okay, Jon brought up Disney this time and I was getting ready to do some more bluffin'. He has no clue that we are actually going to be in one of the most hottest places on earth, (other than Wally's place ;)! )in just a few more days.....I have been excited! It was time to spread the joy to my Jon.
"It's time to make our dining reservations for Disney, right?" I told him yes, it was actually the 29th which is tomorrow. Jon was excited and couldn't wait to pick out a few places he had in mind.
Then it hit me.......I kept telling myself, I have all those balloons to decorate his shop. Was I lazy? No, I just don't have the time to follow through with my plan. Plus, I wanted to see the look on his face in person when he finds out where we are really going.
I was sitting in another chair in the living room across from him with my laptop.
Jon says, "What's wrong?" I just looked at him with a huge smile on my face and said, "Just hang on for a minute....." I just sort of gazed at him. I mentioned to him that I was okay, just give me a minute. I had something to tell him! I got a little weak, I felt like I was going to propose to him again....I was getting ready to tell him the news that I have been hiding so long. It's been so hard to keep this surpise hush hush....I was ready to tell him. Yeah, I know this sounds so dramatic....
Jon turned a white as school glue...he was so pale. He said "Oh my god, what is wrong?"
"Nothing is wrong honey, all is good. You just have no idea what I have been doing the past couple of months. All this time, I have been keeping a secret from you and its about to kill me."
Sounds like an episode from Falcon Crest......
I just sort of paused and buried my face in my hands. I looked up and started giggling a little bit. I knew it was time to go ahead and tell him the big surprise. I couldn't hold it any longer. We have a week to go and I just was thinking I need to tell this man of mine where we were really going in a week.
Bascially, I just said, "I love you so much and I want you to have the best 40th birthday ever." It gets sappy during this part and I know Wally would love it but I have to follow the rules.....;)
Anyway, I told him like this.... "Okay! Ummmm We are going to Disney for your birthday!!!"
He just starting laughing and said "What?" and he does this chuckle that would just kill ya.....
I explained to him my whole process....I told him all the countless trip reports I have been reading. And all the Ebay-ing I have been doing.....the extra hours at work. "Yes honey, I had a affair wth DIS....I have been planning you a surprise bday trip...." I kept on and on......I didn't hush one minute. Jon, like he always does, just sat there on the couch with the biggest grin on his face listening to my "presentation." All the stress of trying to keep this a surprise was lifted off of my shoulders. I had a lot to say about his surprise.....:goodvibes
"I can't believe all this time...I just don't know what to say? OMG!" Was his replies.....
I asked him did he have a clue at all about what I was planning, and he said no, he didn't. He was very surprised. He was so excited! I did tell him this was one of the hardest things for me to do, keeping a secret from him and I don't think I could do it again. So hard!
Then, I heard this....
"I got to get my pins ready!"
I was like :scared1:! But, I knew I had gotten him the perfect gift....let him trade his butt off. Im ready for good food and fun......Ive been dieting trying to get rid of what I gained last January. Im back down to where I was before we left for our last trip.....made room for next week! I want a fried candy bar and some of those pretzel rods! LOL!
Then I told him this, "This your trip, and I want you to do the things you want to do." This when I grab my notebook with all the notes I was making....and I showed him my "thoughts" about this trip. Three hours later, it was 3am in the morning.....I was exhausted this morning from that heavy secret hoovering over me and it being lifted off of me......so glad I told him now. Jon and I both agreed he needed to know now. It was such good news to get him through next week at work. Plus, he wanted to plan and share his new 'gift' with his friends!
Today, I went to Old Navy for a new pair of swiming trunks....Jon went along too...Do I win the swimsuit competition with my new choice?....find out later on when I return and do my TR!
So, that's it. I hope you enjoyed this and yep, He finally knows. I feel a whole better too! Jon has told all his Facebook freinds and he is getting Happy Birthdays already and he turns 40 on the 9th....
Next up, a nice surprise with our tickets and a new plan, again....or do we just "wing it?"

Well, the time has come! We leave tomorrow and we are both excited! :goodvibes Just can't believe how fast the time has flown by!
Today, I have spent the day doing laudry and getting packed. Jon and I also had to get a few errands down before tomorrow. We fly out around 1:30 in the afternoon and will arrive around 3:15. We are almost ready!
I have been getting together all the important document stuff like confrimation letters, tickets and ADR info. I also checked in for our flight and printed out our boarding passes.
Our tickets came about 3 weeks ago. I purchased them through a Travel Agent friend which was a little cheaper than getting them through Disney. A nice surprise is that we got both 3 park hopper and waterpark thingies without paying more. I had asked for 2 Days with the waterpark/DQ extras. Very cool. I do know that we will be upgrading to APs! Thanks to Jenn, she is giving us her coupon for 10% which is very awesome! She'll be getting a $50 gift card for "referring" Jon and I on getting APs. Thanks, Jenn! You are too kind!!!
Well, I better get back to packing! I have more clothes to fold from the dryer. I also have to get our house sitter's key and her list together. We have a awesome house sitter and she also a great freind. She just recently got me involved with a new hobby too, that you all will be hearing about when we return.
As for our four legged girls, they are starting the mope process. They see the suit cases out from the closet...they start to mope and give us the eyes and try to make me feel gulity. Gabbie knows how to work me with her eyes...it kills me to leave them!
Thanks to you all for reading my PTR. This has been fun to write and share with you guys! I do hope to try and swing by and see some of you DIS CMs at your posts! I am letting Jon do the "driving" on this trip, but I do hope to have my 1st DIS meet! If not, there's always September!
See ya real soon with a start of a new Trip Report with lots of pics!!!!
