Do you think its worth it to use 2TS credits for HDDR, or is it better off to pay out of pocket?

When on the DP, and using 2TS credits for HDDR, which tier do you sit in?

On DDP, you may book at Tier 1 only for the 9:30 show.

For the other shows it's Tier 2 or Tier 3.

We paid for the Hoop last year OOP and got Cat 1 seating (well actually we used our disney rewards points) and used the 2TS each we didn't use on the Hoop for adding Coral Reef and Crystal Palace breakfast. We thought that was a good thing?

In general, signature dining and dinner shows are "poor value" uses for basic dining. That said, if you have the extra credits (not planning on other TS meals), by all means, use them!

On deluxe, 2 TS meals make a lot more sense.

Actually, Hoop Dee Doo isn't that bad of a value on the dining plan. You're talking about a $60 meal, which comes down to $30 per credit. If you're talking about average prices for table service, that still puts Hoop Dee Do up in the top 25. As far as averaged prices go, the top 10 still hover around $34. So, $30 isn't too bad, especially when you consider that it's only $40 per day for the plan in the first place. For 'regular' signatures, though, you're unlikely to spend $60 on your meal, so those are much worse of a deal.

For us, though, we nixed 2TS credit meals because it meant we'd get to experience fewer different dining locations.

We find it a good use of our credits based on our other dining selections. Here is the chart I created to figure out what we were going to pay OOP for. It didn't transfer well but I think you get the idea. I then highlighted the cheapest meals. This will require you choosing what you think you will eat ahead of time:
