Hello, new from NC!

Hi, I'm new to posting on these boards, although I've lurked for a long time! Our family has visited WDW probably 6 or 7 times since we've had kids. My 19 yr. old daughter and I are planning to visit in August (yay free dining!) My son and husband are doing the big Boy Scout hike in New Mexico this summer, hence the mother-daughter-only trip!

My daughter has developmental disabilities and a rare genetic metabolic disorder, so we are planning to request a GAC. I think since it's just the two of us we'll be able to play it by ear and return to our room and cool off when necessary. Still, I dread the heat, but with my daughter's work schedule, this was the only time she could go.

MarkinNM, my son and husband are sooo excited to be coming out to your area, to Philmont Ranch this summer!!! I wish I were coming with them, but I would NOT want to be doing that crazy hike! Of course, walking around WDW in August may not be too different from that, now that I think of it! :rotfl:
