Your son's B'day is the same day my Mom's B'day is. :thumbsup2 She will be flying in to join us for 4 days, and we are planning on taking her to 'Ohana for her birthday.
Are you going to order him a cake? I am wanting to but if I do I will get it and take it to her room. I don't want to miss the dessert at 'Ohana. I hear it is wonderful!!
Your dining choices sound great! I forgot that we will be going to CP too. We have never been there before but I have heard that it is great. We may go our first night. :goodvibes

We have a wicked busy schedule for us. Hopefully I can get an early flight because I want to have dinner at the T-Rex Restaurant(my son loves dinos!) our first night and maybe a round or two of mini golf.
Also we will be doing MNSSHP.
As for Adr's:
Been toying around with them but Chef Mickey's is a must because we have never eaten there and the Crystal Palace b/c my youngest loves Pooh.
I think those will be the only character meals we do.
My DF and I are getting married on 9/9
I am glad for the heat(i know...crazy, right?) the last time we went in Oct. and we went in the pool once b/c it was to chilly to swim

DH & I are taking our 25th anniversary trip with Free Dining, a year and a half late due to his father's passing and my father's illness (My Dad's still hanging in there and I'm hoping we don't have to cancel our September trip, but hey... ya never know). Anyways, not only will we be celebrating our 25 (actually 26 1/2) anniversary, but come September we will have been togther 28 years... so 2 kids and a lifetime later... we are planning on taking our time, relaxing, maybe doing some drinking around the world and just being sure to catch the stuff DH hasn't had a chance to get to - like Soarin, maybe Test Track, The Seas in Epcot, The Safari in AK, drawing the characters at the Animation place in DHS, etc. Our dining is still up in the air, but I'm thinking maybe Sanaa, Big River Grill, Tokyo Dining or Tutto Italia (but we're Italian and eat Italian food every few days). I'm letting DH decide on food - but he better get plannning before I do it for him!!!:rotfl2::rotfl2: I can't wait. I haven't had a full week vacation since DS graduated high school in June 2007!!!!! Just long weekends....

We'll be there from Sept 17-26 and staying at POFQ (with free dining!)! Can't wait! I'm feeling guilty because we don't have very much planned yet (I'm waiting for park hours to come out). I do know that we'll be doing a weekday MNSSHP this trip :)

We'll be there staying at POR from September 26-October 2 w/free dining. We're really going for my 40th birthday (10/22) but we'll actually be there on DH's 43rd birthday. I am trying to find something special to do for him, but I'm not sure what.
As far as ADR's, we hope to dine at LeCellier (11DS loves it) and MM Fantasmic package if possible. Other than that, I am pretty much open to trying new places. We'll definitely do Flame Tree BBQ at AK - that's a family favorite. In the past we've done Le Cellier (3x) Marrakesh (2x), Tony's (so so), 50's Prime Time (food was good but had a dud of an aunt), MM, 1900 Park Fare, Akershus (bkfast), CRT bkfast, H&V, Crystal Palace, and the restaurant in France (the name escapes me right now), Whispering Canyon, Boma.....
I'm looking to try something different in Epcot this time. Maybe Biergarten? Would that be fun for DH's birthday dinner or should I try for LeCellier for the b-day dinner. And who is making my birthday dinner????? :rotfl:

Happy early birthday to both of you!! My Mom will be celebrating her birthday there too. Have you registered your birthdays on the website to get your free gift when you get there? Since you already have park tickets you can get a 75.00 gift card, on your actual birthday. I'm sure you know that though. :rotfl2:
I am ordering a cake for DH and I for our 20th wedding anniversary from 1900 Park Fare. I am ordering a cake for my mom from the Boardwalk bakery to be delivered to her room, or we will take it. :flower3:

I've moved this thread to the Doing the Happy Dance! board. :)
We are staying at Port Orleans French Quarter Sept. 29 - Oct. 6, 2009. My wife and I (older adults, i.e. senior citizens )are treating her sister (also a senior citizen) to her first vacation ever. Long story (short version) - her sister always lived at home as a care taker for her mother, father, and blind brother. All are now deceased and she can finally do something for herself. This will be like taking one of our children to Disney for the first time - it is going to be so much fun. A tenative schedule has been developed, but I am waiting for park hours to come out to finalized the schedule and ADR's (free dining :banana::banana:).

I seriously can not wait. It will be my families first trip to WDW ever and I am consumed with planning this vacation. It is going to be so much fun - I dream about it at night...ha ha
I can't offer many tips since I've never been. We are going from Sept 11-17th. I PRAY that I get the dinner reservations that I want. I'm freaking out over not getting the ressies that I want and then being stuck to plan all over again - YIKES - back to square one.
Anyway, we plan on eating at Crystal Palace (breakfast), Tusker House (breakfast), Akersas (breakfast), Chef Mickey's (dinner), Ohana (dinner) Coral Reef (dinner) and Mama Melrose (for Fantasmic Dinner Package). I am hoping beyond hope that I will be able to snag a CRT ressie for breakfast (I will be paying oop for that though). Sept seems so far away........

We're going Sept. 16-20, staying in a Pirate room at CBR. I haven't stayed there in probably 15 years, so it will be fun to revisit it. For ADRs, I'm really undecided. We're also going in July for 10 days, so have lots of ADRs then and would like to try different things.
I'm thinking Nine Dragons and Coral Reef, since we've never eaten there, and maybe Ohana's, which again would be new. Probably Akerhaus for the Princess breakfast one day. So many choices!

We'll be there at the same time :) We're going either 22 or 23-27th at POR ( still havent convinced DH on the 22nd, but it's booked, LOL) Since our kids differ in ages we're doing 4 character meals, CP, Ashkerhaus (sp), H&V & Ohana. Our tentative plan, which may change 456798445 times before the hours come out is
9/23-27
9/23
Arrive around 4pm, check in head to DTD
9/24
Take DD to DTD to BBB, boys will head to Epcot so older DS can get some rides done, then the girls will head over there, dinner at Ashkerhaus, maybe stay for Illiuminations
9/25
DHS day, BF at H&V, leave relatively early, head back and rest up for MNSHHP
9/26
MK get there for RD if we can wake up, if not as early as possible, BF at CP, leave after lunch back to hotel, head back to MK around 4 or so.
9/27
BF at Poly, head back to NC :(

I've done it three times. Once with my Mom and twice with my daughter. I didn't plan on doing it again but since my traveling partners (at the time) hadn't seen it yet I went multiple times. I will see it yet again with my husband this September....it doesn't wear thin, but on my own I would not have revisited it again.

We've changed our minds 100 times and I'm sure we'll do it 100 more before we get there.
The theme for this year's vacation is "See some stuff and relax." Last year was DS's 1st trip and we (read: mommy) tried too hard to cram too much into a half Disney-half beach trip. So, this year I decided to keep things light and try to just accept the fact we will miss things
We'll see how it goes. I'd appreciate any comments too. I always have this nagging feeling I've overlooked something. And yes, we're skipping Animal Kingdom. I know, I know - you love it, but we don't, so it's getting the shaft on this abbreviated family tip.
Arrive Saturday, September 26th
Dinner @ Kona and chilling at the Poly pool
This will also involve multiple cocktails in pineapple shaped containers for me :thumbsup2
Sunday, September 27th
Breakfast @ Chef Mickeys and on to Magic Kingdom
Late Lunch @ Kona and chilling out at hotel for break

I'll be there from 9/26-10/3, staying at Pop for the first time, although I'm thinking about changing to ASMovies...I don't really have a schedule yet since the hours aren't out, and I'm having trouble deciding on restaurants for my ADR's! I know I want to do a character breakfast or dinner, either at Chef Mickey's or Crystal Palace. I also want to do Le Cellier, and maybe the restaurant in France (forgot the name!). I'm also thinking about doing a Grand Floridian restaurant, since I LOVE the resort and have always wanted to stay there, but can't afford it yet! My boyfriend is insisting we do Capt. Jack's because we tried to go last year but there was an hour long wait, so for some reason, he wants to go this time around, but I'm going to try to talk him into Raglan Road instead! Also want to try to do La Nouba and the Halloween party!
Oh, speaking of the Halloween party, I know they go on sale this Friday, but is it ok to wait a week to buy them? Will they be sold out? I was thinking of going either Tuesday 9/29 or Thursday 10/1.

We'll be at POP Sept. 19-27th and I can't wait! I'm also trying to decide on my dining reservations, but like many want to wait until I know which parks have EMH's. I'm pretty firm on doing the Spirit of Aloha dinner the first night we arrive, but other than that I'm playing it by ear until the EMH's come out. Our must do's are Le Cellier and Garden Grill, and we'll be meeting up with my best friend from highschool's family for Mamma Melrose and the Fantasmic dinner package. I'm so so happy to see I'm not the only one this obsessive!

9/17: Afternoon flight; PM @ MK for Spectro + Wishes
9/18: AM @ AK; PM @ HS for dinner @ Sci-Fi, then Fantasmic
9/19: AM @ MK; PM @ EP for dinner @ ?, then Illuminations
9/20: AM or PM @ DTD for shopping and dinner @ Planet Hollywood?
9/21: AM @ ?; Afternoon flight
We're going super-commando for this trip. I'm talking park opening to park closing. If we're not snoring on the flight home, we did something wrong. :rotfl:

I've been a little slow on the planning because I'm kind of bummed to be going in Sept instead of this month as we'd originally planned, so I've only got some very tentative plans roughed out thus far.
We're going to be at the FW Cabins from Sept 25 to Oct 4, and we upgraded our free dining package to the deluxe dining.
I'm still waiting on DS's decision about what special experience we're going to do this year, either the Everest 5K or the Seas Aqua tour, so at the very least we'll probably be changing plans to accomodate whichever one we decide to do.
All the park days are iffy, because I'll probably rearrange when park hours and EMH schedules come out. We like to do evening EMH and don't plan on getting hoppers, so I based my tentative schedule on last Sept's EMHs.
Sept 25:
Arrive, check out the resort, pick up our golf cart, grocery delivery.
Dinner at Artist Point.
Maybe a little Epcot time for evening EMH or campfire/movie at the resort, depending on the kids
Sept 26:
Resort day/race day if we're doing the 5K
Late breakfast or early lunch (if it is offered this year) at Chef Mickey
Swim, relax, rest
Early dinner at California Grill
Campfire & movie if we're not doing 5K - Race & after party if we are
Sept 27:
Magic Kingdom day
Lunch at Liberty Tree Tavern
Afternoon rest at the resort if it seems like DD1 needs it
Dinner at Narcoosees
Evening EMH
Sept 28:
Hollywood Studios
Lunch at Brown Derby
Dinner at Flying Fish
Back to park for F! if the kids are up for it
Sept 29:
Waterpark day
Dinner at Kona
MNSSHP
Sept 30:
Epcot day
Breakfast at Akershus
DS & I - Seas Aqua Tour if we decide to book it
Lunch snacking around F&W festival
Dinner at Le Cellier (Tutto Italia if I can't get LeC)
Oct 1:
Waterpark/DTD/free day
Breakfast at Kona
Dinner at Spirit of Aloha
Oct 2:
Epcot day
Lunch at Teppan Edo
Rest if the kids need it
Dinner at Marrakesh
Evening EMH
Oct 3:
Animal Kingdom
Lunch at Yak & Yeti
Dinner at Jiko
DH & the big kids to Disney Quest
Oct 4:
Breakfast at Grand Floridian Cafe
Maybe MK depending on our departure time

We did "super-commando" on our last trip. My feet were sore for a week when we got home :rotfl2:
We're thinking:
9/17: Morning flight; afternoon at @ HS, Poly for Luau
9/18: MK / MNSSHP
9/19: Epcot, dinner at Le Cellier then Illuminations
9/20: AM at AK, afternoon pool break, Dinner at California Grill (Wishes)
9/21: Character Breakfast then off to cruise port
Sure hope the weather is kind to us and it's not 300 degrees!!

If anyone is interested, you can find Aug hours, show schedules, and EMH here - http://www.disneytravelagents.com/StaticFiles/DTA-Domestic/pdf/ParkHours/WDW_Operating_Calendar_Aug.pdf I'm thinking the hours for the last week of Aug will give me a better idea of what to expect for Sept than looking at last year's hours.
I'm a bit disappointed with the DHS schedule - evening EMH are on early closing nights, so the extra 3 hours still means they're only open until 10, and there are no F! shows scheduled on EMH nights. :(

I'm going in September too for my honeymoon! :bride:
We will be at WL for 6 nights from 9/5 - 9/11. I haven't been to WDW in almost 5 years, and have never stayed at WL, so I am really looking forward to it.
I don't have any definately plans yet -- waiting for the Sept. hours to come out before I get my heart set on anything. They better be out before June 7 when is when I can call for ADRs.
I do know that we will definately be going to Bistro de Paris. That's basically the only thing my fiancee has insisted on, and it should be great for a splurge. I'm considering 'Ohanas, Le Cellier, Boma, Citricos, California Grill, Kona for breakfast (never been there, but my finacee loves French toast) CP for Pooh characters, and WCC since it is right at the resort (and I kind of love hokey things where you may get to be the center of attention!)
We are only having immediate family at our wedding (11 people tops - including us!) so this trip is very special to us. And who knows, we may not make it back to Disney before we have kids!

Congrats on your upcoming wedding! :goodvibes I also honeymooned in WDW - can't think of a better place to celebrate. We'll be in WDW from 9/4 - 9/12 about the same time as you. We've never stayed at WL, but have heard good things about it - we've seen it because we've been to WCC & it is a very pretty resort - you should have a great stay there. Looks like you have some good choices lined up for adrs :thumbsup2 - hope you're able to get what you want.

We requested the mansions too (how did you get my trip planning notes?? :confused3), specifically Oak Manor or Magnolia Terrace for their central locations. It's going to be our first time at POR -- how about you guys? I was just scrolling through the galleries at http://www.portorleans.org/ and it makes me want to pack my bags right now!
It's also going to be our first time going during this time of year, so I'm kind of sweating the weather too. No pun intended. ;)

LOL!!! Us too, looks like we'll be neighbors. Don't worry, I'll send your trip planning notes back when I'm done with them. :rolleyes1
We've never been to POR before either. The pictures look great and I've heard TONS of great stuff about it.
We went two years ago in mid-september. It was H-O-T, but nothing a quick dip in the pool or an air conditioned show break didn't fix. My thoughts...more reasons to have a Mickey Bar :)

Trip dates Sept. 19-26.
Cast Me, my partner Michael and our friend John (who has not been since the 70's)
We are staying in 2 rooms at AKL. We used the 40% room discount and are paying for the dining plan. It worked out better for us to use the room discount and not the free dining.
The plan:
We are driving (except John) to Florida from Illinois. John is flying down. I don't fly well, so driving is much easier for us. We plan to leave very early on the 19th and drive straight thru. We should be in between 8 and 10 pm.
I have not started planning which parks we will go to on any given day since Sept. park hours are not out yet. Also we cannot make any dinning reservations until sometime in June. I do know that we want to eat at Le Cellier, Yachtsman, Sci-Fi, Captains Grill, Rainforrest, Tutto Italia, and the sit down place in Japan at Epcot.
I think we may venture over to Citywalk at Universal because we would like to visit the NASCAR cafe as well as Margaritaville.
We were at WDW last Sept. so this will probably be a more relaxing trip for us.

My daughter and I are going to Disney World September 29-October 4. I have no clue how to plan or if I should even do any planning. Since we're taking advantage of the free dining, there are a few places I have picked out to eat at. O'hana (Sounds sooooo yummy!), 1900 Park Fare, Chef Mickey's, Crystal Palace and The Princess meal in Norway.
I'm getting nervous about making ADRs and am thinking that early breakfasts and late dinners would be our best bet? We're going to the Halloween Party on Thursday October 1 so maybe a lunch reservation would be a good idea for that day. Quite frankly I haven't a clue and as much as I try to plan, my plans are usually shot to poop. If anybody has any tips or ideas of how to plan without being too structured, I'd greatly appreciate it. I read so much stuff that it all becomes jumbled in my head.

Made the reservation last night:
Party of 5 to ASMusic from 9/27 - 10/02 with Free Dining!
We're going to be celebrating 2 birthdays during this trip.
Question: The restaurants everyone has listed - are those all with the free dining or are any of them going to be out of pocket? The reason I'm asking is because I want to try a lot of the places, but I don't want to pay a lot out of pocket... we're debating about upgrading to deluxe

We upgraded to deluxe, so I've got a long ADR list but none are OOP. I really don't like counter service with the kids, we love signature dining, and we're appetizer people who often skip dessert, so the basic plan isn't very attractive to us. We've done the deluxe plan once before and loved it, and I'm really looking forward to doing it again.
If you want to run the numbers, I have a spreadsheet in the link in my sig that will calculate the upgrade cost, how much you'd spend based on the restaurant & menu choices you input, and even give a tip budget. The sample numbers in the sheet are my analysis for our ADR wish list for Sept, if you just want to take a peek to see how it can work out. The deluxe plan really can be a spectacular deal if it fits the way you want to eat!

There are a lot of signature restuarants I want to visit... however, a previous thread I started about the dining received a lot of feedback about spending a lot of time in the restuarants vs. at the parks. Although, our plans have changed (visiting earlier and staying more days)... I'm still torn.
Also, now we have the opporunity to participate in MNSSHP... just so many things to think about...

We are staying at All Star Sports from September 23-October 3, with the free dining! :thumbsup2 It's going to be the biggest group we've gone with in awhile, and also our first trip with four kids. Last time we just had two. My mom is going with us, and possibly DH's mom, too. So one or two grandma's on deck will be wonderful! My mom loves WDW and DH's mom has never been. So, it will be a treat to take both. It's also our first time doing Disney with babies, but with all the tips and advice I've already found here and on other WDW message boards, I'm not nervous about it at all.

With the exception of the signature restaurants, most are available on the DDP. Like the op said, you get 1 counter, 1 table and 1 snack. For us (Me, Dh, Dd 8 and Ds 7) it's more than enough food. We only eat twice a day generally. If we're especially hungry, we'll eat 3 times. We try to make the most out of the plan. By that I mean we buy our breakfast out of pocket and use the counter service for lunch and table service for dinners. Breakfast is usually the cheapest meal of the day. (Unless you want a character breakfast). We've found that works for us. Hope this helps!:thumbsup2

Going september-3~7 ,at AKL CL free dining-no plans yet. I'm all about nightime EMH-so until the calendar comes out I'm kinda without plans....I must be the only one.
I did decide 1 night to leave our kids at Simbas cubhouse-i hear its fun and safe..and I wanna eat our anniversary dinner (9/4) at Victoria and Ablerts. Regardless of reviews we're booking it, has anyone been?? I've never done this. I really need a night out to dress up and have fun just me and the hubby. I think it'll be glam and fun.
Other than that-I really am not sure what we're doing for dining. I never book a dining plan, but it was offered free so we said why not? I'm not all about eating on vacation. I hate to admit this (i'm gonna get slammed) I think the food in disney is pretty low class. High prices semi-decent meals. The magic fizzled IMHO. They shuffle you in and out-its not the same as it used to be-thats really why i never add dining (and I'm sure its not "free"). But its dinsey and I love disney so there really are no complaints.
I'm really looking forward to enjoying this resort. I plan on making one day all about poolside and savannah views and just hanging around the lodge.

Well, I'm entrenched in planning! This is our first trip to Disney World, and as I mentioned, we'll be celebrating our son's 4th birthday while there. We've already started walking every night after dinner to build up endurance!
So far, my plan looks something like this, but won't be finalized until hours come out of course, so it will probably change even after that!
Does it look like a reasonable plan for a family with a 4 yo and a 1 yo? Every day we're planning about 3/4 a day of stuff, with either a late start or early evening and possibly a nap mid-day, depending on how well energy is doing!
We're trying to eat as healthfully as possible on the trip, and I'll be bringing cereal and milk for the room for breakfast, and plan on getting fruit for snacks during the day. Otherwise, do the meals look pretty diverse and at good places? Anything I should obviously change?
Day 1: Arrive in the afternoon, DTD - get Mr. Potato Head parts to play with in the room, dinner at Chef Mickey's
Day 2: Epcot - lunch at Krunga (Norway), dinner at Tangierine Cafe (Morocco), early to bed
Day 3: Animal Kingdom - lunch at Flame Tree, dinner at Boma
Day 4: DS's birthday - Magic Kingdom - lunch at Pecos Bill, dinner at Hoop Dee Doo Revue, boat ride back and forth from Magic Kingdom, fireworks?
Day 5: Epcot - lunch at Sunshine Seasons, dinner at Biergarten, Illuminations
Day 6: Hollywood - lunch at 50's Prime Time Cafe, parade, Backlot Express for dinner - eat while waiting for Fantasmic!
Day 7: Magic Kingdom - breakfast at Crystal Palace, late lunch/early dinner at Cosmic Ray's
Day 8: Downtown Disney - hit the road and head home!
What do you think?
I'm debating whether to use the Hoop Dee Doo Revue since it's two TS. I'm also on the fence as to whether to do that on night 1 and swap it with Chef Mickey's for breakfast on the last morning.

I'm bored at work, so I'm joining all the September threads today, haha.
I'll be there for my honeymoon from September 22-29 =D
We're staying at CSR and hoping we can get ADRs for Yachtsmen, Ohana, Raglan Road, Rose and Crown, Cape May Cafe, Prime Time Cafe and Whispering Canyon. While we're down there we're going to do one day at Universal and go to their Halloween even, and one day at the Kennedy Space Center (probably Saturday, since I'm sure that will be the busiest day at the parks).
Aside from DHS, I haven't been the parks since 1990, so I can't wait!!

Staying at Kidani Village (AKL). Arrive on Sept 17th and leave on Sept 26th (sad to think about the departure day). 7 total people on the trip, me, DW, DS5, DD3, sister, mom, dad.
TS we plan on trying to do --
Character Breakfasts:
Crystal Palace
Akershus
Hollywood & Vince
Tusker House
(good variety of characters with those 4 -- I love Disney breakfast buffets)
Other:
'Ohana dinner
Boma lunch/dinner (this will just be DW, sister, and my dad) Rest of us will go find some good ol' American flavors.
Obviously full details are waiting for Sept. times to come out, but here is my prediction:
First 3 full days (Friday - Sunday, no early entries)
Monday - AK early-entry
Tuesday - Epcot early-entry
Wednesday - Hollywood Studios early-entry)
Thursday - MK early-entry
Last 2 days (Friday, Saturday no early entries)
Basing this prediction on trends from last year and the "change-in-schedule" that can be seen in August's early entry dates. The last week of August looks like a summer-to-fall transition of extra magic hour times. Same thing happened in 2008. Last week of August closely reflected September's times. But of course, I'll finalize my plans when I see an actual list.
Staying at one of the new THVs Sept. 6-11. No Free Dining for us....we're gonna
GRILL. :thumbsup2

Okay, I think I just planned out our tentative ADR/Park schedule - this may change when EMH's come out, but I feel good about it. Can you all let me know what you think, since this is my first trip to Disney in almost two decades, and the first one where I've had to think about making ADRs?

My father and I will be arriving around 4:00 PM at the Polynesian. We will hopefully eat at Chef Mickey's, I haven't eaten there in ages, and want to indulge in swinging around a napkin with Mickey . We will probably go to EPCOT first when it opens, and then around 1:00 PM go MK and eat lunch at The Plaza Restaurant and eat dinner at Tony's on Main Street. On Sunday, we will unfortunately leave :headache:, we don't stay long, only for a weekend, but it's still very enjoyable

We are coming for our 25th anniversary. I am planning to bring our almost 3 grandson with us. We will be staying at POR. I can't wait to make our ADR's as soon as I can. I love to have everything planned out way in advance. I want to get Chef Mickey's and Le Cellier for sure.

We'll be staying at Pop for the 3rd straight year. Friends and family will be joining us so we'll be very busy. Hopefully the weather will be kind to us like last year. :thumbsup2
Looks like the family trip is back on. We THINK we have our days worked out so we can go Sept 3-7. The first 3 nites it will be 7 or 8 of us and then the final nite just DH and me. I am actually considering a split stay for the first time as we are doing a large off-site condo and I'm thinking DH and I may move on-site when it's just us.
Now to think about ADR's...

We are headed down Sept 26th thru Oct 3rd. Originally it was just the two of us and had booked POFQ with FD; since then we've decided to invite the niece and our plans have changed. She's 21 and has never been on a plane before, much less a vacation like this one so we upgraded to the Poly! Always wanted to stay there and now we have a reason LOL. So our tentative plans are this:
Sat, 9/26/09: Fly out of BNA (early flight) arriving in MCO just before 11 local time; check in at the Poly and get situated. Head to Epcot for our first ADR: Restaurant Marrakesh.
Sun, 9/27/09: Magic Kingdom Day!! Have an early breaky at the CP and then tour the park. I'll probably head back to the room for our grocery delivery at some point this day. Wishes/parades as available per the unknown park schedule.
Mon, 9/28/09: Hollywood Studios Day. We had planned on being here very little but with the newbie niece we've alotted more time here. Dinner plans for 50's Prime Time.
Tues: 9/29/09: Animal Kingdom Day! Love this park, and this time we'll be sure to see Festival of the Lion King, we've always missed it before. Head back to the Poly and regroup for dinner at Narcoosee's (soooo looking forward to this one).
Wed, 9/30/09: Epcot for Food and Wine, which is the real reason we chose to go back this time of year, the free dining is just an added bonus. Will tour, eat, drink, eat, drink, drink.....and hopefully can get ressies at Le Cellier for dinner.
Thurs, Oct 1st: DTD, shopping, lunch at Wolfgang Puck Cafe and later that night....MNSSHP! Love the Boo to You parade, can't wait to see it again!
Fri, 10/2/09: Going back to Epcot this day, its our favorite. See more of the food and wine, have dinner at Les Chefs de France (God willing) and be done in time for Illuminations.
Sat, 10/30/09: Check out and head back to reality :sad1:
Sound like a decent plan?

I am bringing my bf:wizard:32 and his sonpirate:9 for thier 1st trip to disney 9/19-9/26 arriving and departing early evening. We are staying at ASMusic...hopefully not country. I went for the 1st time this year...I'm 27...in April for 2 days. I did MK and HS, which we will be doing along with AK and Epcot(we have a 5 day pass). We purchased water park and more options with our tickets...bfs loves acardes(DQ)...I can't lie so does bf. I'm guessing bfs would like to do either or both water parks. Also the bfs is a huge thrill seeker so we are going to Universal for 2 day to do both the parks as well. I'm trying to figure out how we are going to fit this all in. What do we not do? FYI we have MNSSHP tickets too.

It's pretty easy to fit both of the Universal parks into one day if you buy their fast passes and you know ahead of time what rides/attractions you really want to see, so that will help with your scheduling

I compiled a list a few weeks ago of US and IoA rides that I consider must-sees, and then a couple more that you should try to do if you can. It may be possible to fit both parks in in one day if you get to IoA for park opening and work your away around the lands clockwise, doing the biggest rides. Then head over to US for RotM and Simpsons Ride first - you may not be able to get on Rip Ride Rockit late in the day, as it'll have only been open for a few weeks I think.
At Islands of Adventure: you have the following:
Spider-Man, Incredible Hulk, Popeye and Bluto’s Bilge Barges, Dudley Do-Right’s Ripsaw Falls, Jurassic Park and Duelling Dragons.
Then over at Universal Studios:
Revenge of the Mummy, Simpsons, Rip Ride Rockit (hopefully in September!!), Shrek 4D, Jaws and Men in Black.
And the on top of that:
Poseidon Show, Sinbad Show, Dr Doom, Twister, ET, Earthquake, Jimmy Neutron, Terminator 4D.
I hope you get to do Universal, because it's so much fun :) I'm not too sure of height requirements I'm afraid as I've never been with any children, so I'm not sure if your BF's son would be able to get on the bigger ones - have fun whatever you do though! :thumbsup2

Thanks so much arbolita & Howellsy. It makes planning the week so much easier. I was on a couple other threads and a lot of people were saying that both parks take a day each, but other people I've been talking to say that 2 parks in 1 day is totally do-able.

Awesome! Just keep an eye our for our HM buttons (and you can see what I look like in my planning journal). I think to guarentee my getting Ohana, I'm going to let it be interchangable with Raglan Road or Whispering Canyon, but I'm definitely hoping to have it on the 23rd (or at least on a day when I'm able to do MK)

We are going Sept 1 - 12, staying 11 nights AKL Club level :cloud9::cloud9::cloud9:
We have 2 boys age 16 and 13, DH and myself going on the trip. I am very excited for this trip, it is our second trip... our first trip was January 08 when my husband came home for his leave from his tour in Afghanistan. This trip is extra special as we are celebrating my husband's and my 18th anniversary, and his retirement from 22 years military service :) We have never been in September before, and are really not looking forward to the heat, but hey...We'll be in Disney with FREE DINING!! so I am still keeping a positive outlook about the trip. It just may mean more hours at the pool!! ;) Our plans are already with the concierge staff, hoping they get the ADR's I want (our window opens in about 3 days). I am hoping for Le Cellier, Ohana's, Teppan Edo, Biergarten, Cape May Clam Buffet,Sci Fi Diner (all new restaurants we haven't tried)...Prime Time, Boma.(favourites from our last trip) Keeping our fingers crossed for good luck in getting the times/restaurants we want!
On Labour Day we are going to spend the day at Discovery Cove, so that is one extra thing we have never done before added to the itinerary. I have always dreamed of swimming with dolphins!
One other special thing planned is to do the Sunrise Safari again at AKL on Sept. 3... we are booked for that day already, and looking forward to it, it is so worth staying Club Level just for this!
I am happily counting down with all of you! :yay:

We are so there with ya! We plan on having an outline/guide and ADRs but we're really going to try and enjoy the resort and vacation. Go to the parks for a few hours and then resort time. No stress. (at leasts thats the plan...):hippie:

Now if only they would release the park hours!!!

I'm currently on hold for my ADRs :goodvibes The music is reeeally quiet though - I'm not impressed :sad1:
Going 9/5-9/11, staying at FW Cabins :cool1: Plans are still somewhat tentative since we don't have definite park hours yet but, here goes:
Arriving late on 9/5 - hoping to catch Wishes from the FW beach
9/6 - Epcot
9/7 - Magic Kingdom, with both Spectro and Wishes
9/8 - DHS - my DH is taking our older two boys to Blizzard Beach after the couple of rides they like (TSM ToT) and I'll stay with my 4-year old to do Star Tours and other SW stuff and character greetings
9/9 - Epcot, with Illuminations
9/10 - MK, with am EMH (we hope!)
9/11 - AK - head home (we're driving so we can stay as short/long as we like!)
I have restaurants in mind for my ADRs, but since I can't make them until Sunday, I'm superstitious about posting them ;)

Just got off the phone! This is what I've got so far, but I can't book the 13th, 14th and 15th yet :sad1:
3rd Hollywood & Vine (dinner w/Fantasmic)
4th Tutto Italia (dinner)
5th Donald’s Breakfastasaurus (breakfast)
6th Whispering Canyon (dinner)
7th Cinderella Royal Table (early dinner)
8th Chef Mickey’s (breakfast)
9th Le Cellier (early dinner)
10th Sci-Fi Dine-In (dinner)

we decided to add an extra night to the start of our trip and drive up after work as opposed to getting up early driving, and being exhausted the next day, plus as a bonus we'll get an extra day's dining....so 90 days today
Just books my adrs they are:
9/3 Spend morning at resort, afternoon at MK Dinner ressie 5:45 BC-Cape May Cafe Clam Bake and then back to MK
9/4 Spend day at resort and animal watch and swim, then Epcot like 3ish or late afternoon, dinner 6:30 tutto italia...FYI-Le Celier was booked for dinner our whole vaca week 9/2~7...but always try-people change or cancel daily...Illuminations, back to resort sleep.
9/5 DS bday BF ressies 9:05 Tusker House, AKP all day (kids fav park). Dinner ressie 4pm at T-Rex...FYI-can book dining through disney reservation but it is NOT on the dining plan
9/6 BF at 1900 Park fare 10:00 MK day dinner at 5:30 The Wave then hopefully off to HS for Fantasmic-if not resort night (we've seen it many times already if its not showing NBD)
9/7 Pack up, swim, lunch 11:15 Sci-FI-finish HS (we're not big on this park) and drive home around 4.
This is the plan...for now. Wish we were going tonight....

How is this plan for a family with kids ages 4 and 1? We're planning on a break after lunch each day for naps and possible pool time. We have 7 days of tickets, 9 nights of free dining, and aren't getting Park Hoppers. Our kids are early risers (sleeping past 7 is a rarity!), so we're going to do the most touring in the mornings with an early breakfast in the room. It's definitely still subject to change, but here's what I have so far.
Saturday, 19th - Arrive in Orlando!
Late flight in, check in
Sunday, 20th - Hollywood
2:30 Snack/light lunch at Backlot Express, watch the parade
Dinner at Mama Melrose for Fantasmic! package (is this worthwhile?) or at 50's Prime Time if the Fantasmic! package isn't worth doing
8 pm Fantasmic! (get there an hour early)
Monday, 21st - Animal Kingdom (early entry)
Lunch at Tusker House for the Finding Nemo package
"Picnic in the Park" dinner to take back to the room for an early night
Tuesday, 22nd - Epcot (early entry)
Early start, visit Future World and some World Showcase
Lunch at Sunshine Seasons
Dinner at Biergarten
Wednesday, 23rd - Magic Kingdom (son's 4th birthday)
8 am Breakfast at Crystal Palace
Lunch at Columbia Harbour House
7 pm Dinner at 'Ohana - watch fireworks from 'Ohana, then watch electrical pagaent at 9 pm
Thursday, 24th - rest in the morning, Fort Wilderness in the evening
Rest, play in the pool, laundry
Late breakfast or early lunch at All Stars food court
Dinner at Trail's End Buffet
campfire and movie if the kids are up for it
Friday, 25th - Epcot for Food and Wine Festival
World Showcase - snack around the world using a week's worth of snack credits! If we are hungry (!!), lunch or dinner at a quick service restaurant.
9:00 Illuminations
Saturday, 26th - Magic Kingdom
Lunch at Cosmic Ray's
Dinner at The Wave at The Contemporary
Spectromagic and Wishes
Sunday, 27th - Last Day
Revisit the favorite park, most likely Magic Kingdom (extended evening hours)
Dinner at Boma
Monday, 28th - Going home!
Late breakfast at Chef Mickey's
Get sandwiches from Earl of Sandwich for the plane ride home

We are going Sept 27-Oct 2 to celebrate our 6th anniversary.
27th: MK / PM EMH
B - Chef Mickey's
D - Crystal Palace
28th: Epcot / PM EMH
L - Tokyo Dining
D - Tutto Italia
29th: DHS?
L - 50's Prime Time
D - Flying Fish
30th: MK?
B - CRT
D - Citricos
1st: AK?
L - Yak & Yeti
D - Boma
2nd: Epcot
B - Akershus
D - Le Cellier
Since Oct 1 & 2 aren't up and Disney hasn't officially posted it's schedule for DHS & AK it's kind of hard to make any officials plans. I think we are just going to have to guess on the ADRs for Oct because I don't want to wait until those park hours are released... I might not get what I want. This is pretty much the plan and we'll see how the ADRs work out. If I can only get Le Cellier for lunch then we won't do Tokyo Dining and we'll add Biergarten for dinner. We don't usually have too many problems getting the reservations we want since we eat late dinners.
If anyone has any suggestions for a great anniversary surprise let me know. I haven't been able to think of anything for this year yet. I still have plenty of time though.

We are taking our Grandson for his first trip.
9/21 Mk and Dinner at Chef Mickey's
9/22 epcot I need to get res at Le Celler, must have 25th Anniversary
9/23 Tusker house for Breakfast.
9/24 DHS/Dinner at Chefs' D France or Mama's at DHS
If we stay the extra night I will do the other.:yay:

We are going to be at All Star Movies from September 5 - 11, with free dining. This will be my husband's and son's first time to WDW. The last time I was there was 7 years ago. So I am trying to really do it up to make it really special for them.
I made my ADR's yesterday and was so excited to get all but 1 of my choices at REALLY good times.
Saturday September 5
Our flight gets in a 9 am (YEAH!!!) so will have all Saturday afternoon to play! I'm thinking after we checkin we may hang out at the pool, but we may not be able to contain our excitement and head out for the Magic Kingdom.
We have dinner reservations at Chef Mickey's (super surprised to be able to score this one) and then we will head over to MK for the Parade and Fireworks.
Sunday, September 6 - Magic Kingdom Day
We'll probably sleep in a bit and head over to the park mid-morning. We have lunch reservations at Cinderalla's Royal Table at the castle. Once again, how did I possible get this? We'll spend the day there and may or may not go back to the hotel for a break in the afternoon, it just depends upon the crowds. Counter Service dinner, then back to MK. When I told my 7 year old that the park was open until midnight tonight he thought that was so cool to be able to ride the rides in the dark. So that's what we'll be doing!
Monday, September 7 - Hollywood Studios
We'll spend the day here then leave in the afternoon for our dinner reservation at Whispering Canyon Cafe, then back to HS for the EMH.
Tuesday, September 8 - Epcot
Travel the world at Epcot while stopping in Japan for our dinner reservation at Teppan Edo. We have a similar restaurant back home that we LOVE but it is so expensive we only eat there on really special occasions.
Wednesday, September 9 - Animal Kingdom
I have never been here so it will be a new experience for me too! We'll start the day with a reservation at Donald's Safari Breakfast.
Thursday, September 10
We'll probably spend the morning at Downtown Disney then head over to Hollywood Studios. I had wanted a reservation at Mama Melrose for the Fantasmic Package but it wasn't available. I was able to get a F! package for Hollywood and Vine. I will keep checking back for MM. End the evening with Fantasmic.
Friday, September 11
We will be flying home today but our flight doesn't leave until 6:30 that night so we'll spend the morning in which ever park we want to go back to that day.

Ok so I had to modifiy my dining plans-just a one...we planned to take my son to Tusker House for his bday 9/5 and we've cenceled. Instead we booked him (and his sister) a Pirate Cruise at the GF for his bday, and we kept his dinner ressie at T-Rex for that evening.

Ok so here I go again (get a snack because it's long), with some changing days around and what not, here are the final plans (assuming I can get ADR times similar to what I want)
All times are what I am hoping for, I can't make ADRs until June 20th and we'll be upgrading to AP so we'll have many days in WDW.
Some more prologue:
We're staying at Pop Century Sept 18-Oct 2 on free dining.
I have a surprise 3 night stay for me and my mom at WL from September 22-25 (she'd never spend the money on a deluxe so I will for her) we will have free dining here also but I have upgraded it to the DxDP.
We're staying the night of the Expedition Everest Challenge (Sept 26) at AKL for quick and easy transportation and we got a good rate for the night.
September 17
Flight, yuck!
Red-eye arriving at MCO at 6:04AM on Sept 18 with layover in LAX (I wish I had time to hit up Disneyland)
September 18
Arrive 6:04AM
Hopefully to Pop by 7:30AM, we will check in on our 10 day mark hoping our room will be ready.
Option 1: If our room is ready, sleep until 11AM or Noon then go to Captain Cook's in the Poly for lunch, MK by 3PM.
Option 2: If our room isn't ready, go to Epcot until it is ready. If we have time, nap until 6PM where we will head to MK by then.

1. you have reservations after the Food and Wine Festival? We're expecting to snack around the booths and not have dinner. Should I plan a meal in addition to the snacking? We'll be there on Friday with you. :)
I have found that the food there is a little less filling than I had thought. So basically on those 2 days at the beginning of the F&W, snacking will become lunch for us. In no way though was it enough food for the entire day for me.
2. What is the Expedition Everest Challenge?
It's a 5K, obsticle course and scavenger hunt at Animal Kingdom. There's also an after party for the racers and their friends and family. http://disneyworldsports.disney.go.com/dwws/en_US/events/eventDetail/detail?name=ExpeditionEverestChallengeDetailPage&bhcp=1

I must admit I might be in over my head here. My parents took my sister and I twice when we were between 9 and 14, and now 17 years later it's my turn to take them for their 30th anniversary (and bringing my 5 year old neice for her first time) . We also have the Free Dining, but I wasn't aware there would be such planning for meals. I'm now assuming I should get to making reservations immediately to see where we can get in. But what are your strategies? I thought we would just wander the park and eat where we ended up but now I'm thinking that if we do that we run the risk of spending our valuable park time stuck waiting for a table at a restaurant (when doing sit down meals). Do you typically pick three places you'd like to eat and see which one you can get into? I'm completely lost when it comes to reservations!
Thanks for your help!

Thanks, lacrosse_lady! The 5k sounds really interesting!
I'm saving up our snacks for the week to use at the Food and Wine Festival, but I'll keep a counter service meal open for the day in case we're still hungry. Thanks for the heads up!
Jay2009 - I'm planning my first trip, but my understanding is that if you don't book your advance dining reservations, you can be SOL when it comes time to eat. Sometimes they'll be totally booked and not take walk ins. I don't want to waste time in the park wandering from place to place trying to find somewhere to eat, so I'm making a dining plan so I can work our days around that and be sure we're getting in. Plus, it sounds like there are a lot of good restaurants and a few that are not so great, so I'd rather skip the not so great by doing the research ahead.

(If I actually buy the tickets that is!!) I have been obsessing over the price because this flight's prices have been bouncing around like a bouncy ball for the last month! Hello! Congrats on the first time trip! I have been there for the last few years and I thought I would share a few of our favorite places to eat. All the ones you mentioned are good! Don't know if you have boys or girls or ages. The Grand Floridian has a Cinderella Dinner with her, step mother, step sisters, Prince and it is a buffet. It is Parke Fare restaurant. It only costs you 1 meal plan! We did it last year and it was awesome!!! Also the Sci-Fi and 50's Prime time cafe are WONDERFUL too! they are both at Hollywood Studios. We have dine them several times and they are an experience all themselves! If you have a daughter you need to try the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique...costs about $50 but it is soooo worth doing at least once! There is a parade at night at Magic Kingdom called Spectromagic and you have GOT to see it. AWESOME. It is only on certain nights, so look for the dates! Fantasmic is an awesome show at Hollywood Studios too, also only on some nights and it is a must see. There is also a place at Epcot called Kringla Bakery in Norway....a must try for your snacks...school bread and sweet pretzels are wonderful! Funnel Cakes at a little place in magic Kingdom going into Adventureland...think it is maybe called Aunt Polly's? Wonderful too! Have you looked into tickets for Mickeys Not So Scary Halloween tickets? It is not cheap, but it is soooo worth it for the experience to trick or treat at Disney! You see things you wouldn't see any other time. Also be sure to ask when you check in for first visit pins and they will give them to you for free. Wear them all week and you get lots of attention! Have a wonderful trip!

http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/restaurants/
for a complete list
or
http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/dining/
to search for each one
When you look at a restaurant, for almost all of the TS ones you should see a button that says Book Reservation. If you click on that, if lets you put in a date or date range to book it, and also gives you a link to click if you have resort reservations, so you can link it to your stay and book for your whole trip (well, at least the +10 worth).
My ADR date isn't until next week, so I just logged in and marked all the locations I want as favorites, so I can just bring up that page and not have to search for all of them.
Definitely worth playing around with now to get a feel for the site prior to doing it =)

I got everything that I wanted this morning within 30mins of my request. I didnt use the online booking because it only allows you to do 5 days in advance. After playing around with the online booking I still think it might be quicker to do it over the phone if you have no wait time. Anyway here's what I got:
Sept. 14 = Hoop Dee Doo: 9:30pm Cat. 1
Sept. 15 = Raglan Road: 6:45pm
Sept. 16 = Boma: 10:10am; Coral Reef: 7:20pm
Sept. 17 = Kona Cafe: 5:05pm
Sept. 18 = Boma: 10:50am
Sept. 20 = Ohana: 7:15pm (Great time to have wishes start with dessert)
On the phone at 7:03am off at 7:17am. All for a party of 2!

Here are our plans so far!
Fly to Ft Lauderdale 9/11, visit with brother and sister in law Fri, Sat, Sun, depart for Disney Monday morning 9/14.
9/14: check in to POP, return rental car, explore resort, maybe do DTD.
9/15: CM (breakfast), then Epcot
9/16: DHS, 50's Prime Time Cafe (early dinner)
9/17: MK, Crystal Palace (dinner)
9/18: AK, HDDR 7:15 show
9/19: check out--fly home.
So far I have booked our resort, got park tickets, got airfare, rented car, arranged DME for return flight, made ADR's, narrowed down a few CS at each park, ordered Enchanted Call for departure date for DD3, signed up for (hoping to get) a fridge swap, started putting pocket distractions away for the kids for the airport, car ride from Ft Lauderdale, etc, started getting items to use to decorate our room window, started eating better so I can try to fit my pooh-sized rear into the plane seat, made sure the car seat was approved for air travel, tuned up the stroller, dug out the rain cover, etc for it, ...... I think that's it so far. Except for RESEARCH! I have been doing a LOT of that!
I AM SOOOOOOOO EXCITED!

Congrats on your 25th Anniversary!! Overall looks like you got a great trip lined up this Sept. We've gone the past 2 Septembers (our son being 2 & 3 yrs old for those trips) and we've had the best time. I think Drake will like Coral Reef (one of our favorites) - it's alot of fun to see the sharks, giant sea turtle and other fishes swimming around as you eat. Have a great trip!

So, I bought an AP September 2008 during my budget solo trip, knowing I was also going to our Orlando time share for two weeks Feb-Mar of 2009. Pretty much the day before we left in February, I found two weeks in a Saratoga Springs 1 bedroom villa available through our timeshare exchange:love:. The last day of the two weeks was the day my AP would expire:scared1:. So I hopped onto my favorite airline booking crawler and found round trip airfare (non stop no less) for the exact days for under $200 round trip. We fly out of Seattle, so this was amazing!!:dance3: So, Karma made me plan another trip. :hippie:

Sooooooo excited to be going back. It's a surprise for the kids!!!! They have no idea and we talk about Disney all the time. Sept is our go to vacation plan. We have managed to be able to go b/c ofthe FREE dining and sometime we even go b/c we throw caution to the wind and :confused3 and say hey the bills will ALWAYS be there.
This time we are talking my Mom. It's a first for her going with us on vacation and she is so excited she's already asked me what to pack. :cool1:
I've already been to the Disney Store and they were having a sale...picked up new t-shirts for $7.99. Also splurge at the Croc Outlet and bought both girls new Crocs but with Mickey heads. Gotta love the pixie dust. :tink:

I just booked a September trip and I am super-psyched!
I'm going with my BFF, NO KIDS!!
We're going to have an adults-only, girlfriends trip - I've always wanted to do this. I will actually get to do what I want to do at WDW.
A lot of firsts on this trip - first adults-only trip, first time staying on-site. We'll be at CSR. I had a pin code, so we got the room discount ($89/night) instead of free dining. But we're considering adding the dining plan so we can try it out. With kids and a condo, I've always found I can feed us much cheaper than DDP. But we think it might be worthwhile for this trip.
I haven't had a chance to read all through this thread, but I bookmarked it so I can come back to it - can't wait to read what plans other Sept visitors have. I haven't been in Sept before - I've done Jan, Mar, Oct, Dec. Hopefully we'll be enjoying low crowds.

That's awesome! 25 years, wow! Congratulations! I'll be on the look out for anniversary pins around POR. And a 1st visit pin for your DGS. :)
This will be my first time staying in something other than a value resort. I'm super excited! :woohoo:
I belive you will love the hotel. We have stayed in POR before when my children where younger. We stayed in the Woods side I can not remember the name for the life of me today. We loved the landscaping and the peacefulnessl. We moved to Deluxe after that since both of my boys ended up over 6" at we needed the bigger beds. Now that is not a consideration so we are able to stay here again and I am hoping for the Mansions. I have heard good things about both so no matter where you stay it should be great. :goodvibes
I hope to get the pins for our anniversary and Drakes 1st visit. He is so into Mouse House, short for Mickey Mouse Club House he thinks Mickey is the whole thing. :woohoo:

9/21 - AK Day! Breakfast @ Tusker House, spend the day in the park, relax at POR, and then head to WCC for dinner.
9/22 - Morning at DHS and MNSSHP at night!
9/23 - Epcot Day! Lunch @ Coral Reef
9/24 - 9/27 - Crusin on the Disney Wonder :cool2:
9/27 - Check in to AKL, spend time walking around the resort, maybe BB or TL, and dinner at Hoop Dee Doo Review
9/28 - Food and Wine Festival! Possibly lunch @ San Angel Inn
9/29 - Check out :guilty: Embark on the loooong journey back to NJ!
I can't wait! This will be me and my DBf's first Disney cruise and my first time staying at a mod and a deluxe!!

:yay:THAT IS THE SAME FLIGHT WE ARE TAKING!!!!!!:yay:
(If I actually buy the tickets that is!!) I have been obsessing over the price because this flight's prices have been bouncing around like a bouncy ball for the last month! They were the lowest I had seen this past Monday and I was all prepared to buy them on Tuesday and they had shot back up again. I am figuring they will drop back down again next Monday and I will buy them then. We'll be on the plane together! How fun!
Hey just saw your post. Not sure if you got your tics but if you go to airtran.com/sale I think you can get the lowest price from Indy. Good luck!!! Us Indy folks needto stick together!!!:goodvibes

I am so impressed with everyone else's organization! We're arriving at Saratoga Springs (9:50 pm MCO arrival) on Sept 11th and returning (6:30 pm flight) Sept 25th. We've previously stayed one week at Saratoga Springs (1 bedroom) but getting 1 bedroom for two weeks in a row from II is sooooooo very cool! :cool2: I've got my spreadsheet for best days and park hours:surfweb:, but am having a real problem figuring out dining. We will NOT be on the free dining (DVC + AP's = pay for dining) and I really don't look forward to waiting in lines with those who are. (Nothing personal, there just seems to be more dining lines, is all.) I'm thinking about lunch at the Swan/Dolphin a couple of days, CS for the rest of the lunches and we nearly always eat dinner "in" with our feet UP:rotfl2:. I'll get WeGoShop to deliver groceries from Publix, just easy stuff (frozen dinner in a bag & pizza) with crudite', cereal, and milk, and coffee, of course! Being on West Coast time, our breakfast is lunch, lunch is dinner, dinner is when everything is closed! Okay, not everything, but you get the idea:teacher:. I would love to explore the resort counter service restaurants for late breakfast (definitely going to try beignets at POFQ) and wondered if it gets more or less crowded around 10:30 -11:00 am? Any input? I've only done Captain Cooks on previous trips (for a Dole Whip) mid afternoon and it was PACKED!

I'm sure I will love the hotel! When we went to Universal last year (I know, I know, shame on me lol) we spent a day at MVMCP and toured the resort before going to the park. It's so pretty!!! I'm afraid I'm going to get lost though. If you see some girl wandering around looking lost and confused, it'll probably be me! :rotfl:

Hi!
We've done the drive twice, the first time we made the mistake of driving straight through both ways. Last year we stopped on the way down but not on the way back. This time, we're stopping in both directions! You're right, the drive seems SO much longer on the way back up.
Have a great trip!

I didn't get two restaurants I wanted (O'Hana and Sci Fi), but here's our dining plans:
Sunday - Arrival: Magic Kingdom with dinner at Kona (not sure if I'm going to keep this)
Monday: Animal Kingdom with a late lunch, early dinner at Yak & Yeti
Tuesday: Epcot with dinner at Restuarant Marrakesh
Wednesday: Hollywood Studios with Playhouse Disney breakfast and 1900 Park Fare for dinner
Thursday: Magic Kingdom with potential MNSSHP and celebrate my brother's 27th birthday with dinner at Tony's
Friday: Home
I'm glad that your ADR's went well. I see that you are considering not keeping Kona, but I would. We have an ADR for Kona and I have read so many great things about it that I'm excited to eat there. :cloud9: I say try it once, you may love it. ;)
I think we are 65 days away from our arrival date and it still does not seem real to me. I'm not sure when it will really hit me, but I'm waiting for it. I am so excited to be staying at POR for the very first time. I think my DH is going to LOVE it! I am really looking forward to riding the boat to DTD, and just seeing what all the resort has to offer. I just can't wait to get into the car and go. :cool1:

I ended up changing my reservations to include O'Hana; I really want to try this restaurant out!
I am crossing my fingers that we will be able to do this trip. Final payment is due 8/13 and I am still waiting on word of a bonus because no bonus means no trip.

Hi everyone :)
We are getting so excited to leave for Disney. We leave September 13th from Philadelphia at 11:45am and we are staying til Sept. 19th, our flight leaves around noon. We go this time every year especially being free dining. And since this is the last year we can get away with only paying for 1 kid at age 7 and the other kid being 2 so she is free we have decided to go all out and stay at the Contemporary Hotel. We normally stay at one of the value hotels. I hope its worth it. We made our ADR and here is what we have
9/13 - Magic Kindgom with Crystal Palace Dinner, my 2 year old LOVES pooh bear
9/14 - Hollywood Studios, then a little break at the hotel with Dinner to follow :Chef Mickeys
9/15 - Epcot and a table service at Sunshine Seasons and then dinner at 1900 Park Fare
9/16 - O'Hana Breakfast, and of course I LOVE Stitch then of to Animal Kingdom with a Picnic in the Park Lunch later in the day. Then depending on how we are feeling we might go to DTD
9/17 - Mgic Kindgom with Table Service lunch at Cosmic Rays then BBB for my oldest daughter then off to Cinderella's Royal Table for Dinner
9/18 -We are going to start with Chef Mickeys for Breakfast then do some fun things then end the day at Epcot and LeCellier for Dinner. Our Anniversary Dinner Yum :)
We were lucky this year and got everything we wanted, with the times we wanted. And what would be even better is if we got upgraded at our Hotel when we arrive. That would be awesome. I love free Dining I sucker my husband every year to take us. Thats whay we do Bounceback

We're going for a pretty long trip - September 27-October 10th at POFQ. I am so excited! We're going to celebrate our honeymoon. (And free dining and food and wine festival!)
Our TA was able to get all of the ADRs we wanted, and only one of them was even outside of a "normal" meal time which was so much better than I thought it would end up! Here's where we're eating:
Fly-in day, arriving around noon, going to do mini-golf and wander DTD. 'Ohana at 9:50PM
9/29 Coral Reef 12:10PM
9/30 Rainforest Cafe 12:00PM
9/30 Boatwrightsw 7PM
10/1 Sci-Fi Dine-In 11:45AM
10/1 Hollywood & Vine 5:50PM
10/3 Restaurant Marrakesh 1PM - didn't think about it being a Saturday of F&W, whoops!
10/4 Liberty Tree Tavern 1PM
10/7 Cinderella's Royal Table 5:40PM
10/8 Biergarten 1PM
10/8 Tokyo Dining 6:30PM
10/9 Rose & Crown 1PM
We have one more dining credit to plan, but we're going to play that one by ear, or order pizza or something if we want. DH isn't much of a planner so this was a compromise on my part to keep him from going crazy. ;)
I really can't wait. Is it time to leave yet?!

57 more days!!!:cool1: I am really getting excited. My teenage DD, who hardly finds time to talk to me, came into my room and laid across my bed and started to talk about our trip. She is so excited. I kind of feel sorry for her because she went with a friend to Orlando last summer but they only went to DTD and Typhoon Lagoon. She said that it was soooo hard to be that close and not go to the parks. She didn't go with us the last time we went because of school. They scared us into thinking she would never be able to catch up, yada yada yada. She would have been fine. So, it has been three years since she has been to the parks. It's going to be GREAT!!

Question, after you leave Disney and travel home, do you take a day to relax or do you get back at it? We will get home late that Sunday night, and my kids will be back at school and my DH will be in meetings all week. I'll be unpacking and washing clothes. :laundy: It's so sad isn't it. :sad2:
Last trip, we did take a day - flew home on Saturday night. This trip, we're flying back on Sunday night, no resting up for us :rotfl2:
Ooooh, 54 days!!

Our countdown is now at 70 days and counting. I'm looking forward to this trip more than any other that I have taken because this will be my daughter's first trip and she's so excited. I have to sit on you tube showing her "Mickey's House" at least twice a day. We're going Sept 26-Oct 1st and we're eating at Chef Mickey's, Hollywodd and Vine, and the Crystal Palace. My only concern is that since it's the start of the F&W should I be worried that it'll be extremely crowded?
FYI- I just found out about this website this morning thanks to a survey about Disney Dining. I can't believe I hadn't found this sooner. This site rocks!

I just bought my airplane tickets over the weekend, so today I made sure to get my reservation for DME!
The Boyfriend and I are arriving 9/13 and we plan on checking into ASMu then going shopping at DTD! We plan on doing Hollywood Studios on 9/14, Epcot on 9/15, Animal Kingdom on 9/16 and Magic Kingdom on 9/17. Then flying home on 9/18!
I am sooo excited! It's my first time ever going to WDW! (I've only been to DLR) The Boyfriend hasn't been since 1999, so there's a lot of new attractions he's looking forward to! (He's also looking forward to drinking beers from all over the world at Epcot, since this will be his first WDW trip since he's been of legal drinking age!)
I tell ya, September cannot come soon enough!
As for what we do when we get back, we purposefully planned our trip so that we'd be flying home on Friday so that we'd have a few days to rest and relax before heading back to work on Monday. And since we're flying to Orlando on a Sunday, that gives us all day Saturday to pack and make all the last minute vacation arrangements we need! That also works out nicely because we'll be in the parks Mon-Thurs which we're hoping will be less crowded than on the weekend.

Looks like you're jumping around also :)
We have Pop booked for the entire stay with the free DDP and AKL booked for the night of the Expedition Everest Challenge for the convience and for a special rate. As a surprise for my mom for her birthday... we're staying at WL from 22-25 with the DxDP.

We are jumping around a little bit. We're going on a disney cruise mid-way through the trip so we're staying at WL for the pre-cruise nights and AKV for the post-cruise nights! I can't wait. :)
66 more days for me! CSR here we come!!
Is anyone else getting concerned about the September crowds? I am reading more and more about the resorts being full to capacity and am getting worried. :scared1:

Oh the evil Itinerary Planning Office...they have such awesome ideas-its making me crazy the plans, the changes, all the magic packed into 6 days-I need a disney vacation to relax after my disney vacation!
So they "suggested" some alternate dining options to "optimize my park experience" so my new new revised itinerary this week is:
9/2 HS, dinner PTC
9/3 Breakfast 1900 Park Fare
Dinner BC Cape May Cafe Clam Bake
9/4 Dinner Captain's Grille
9/5 Sons Bday Kids Pirates Cruise at GF
MK for Pirates League Makeovers
Dinner T-Rex
Celebration Cruise for MK Wishes (my son has one heck of a 5th bday planned) :wizard:
9/6 BF Tusker House (W/ Donald and Friends)
Dinner O'Hana's (sadly, I bought us matching hawiian outfits-it'll make awesome pics and xmas cards!)
9/7 Lunch Sci-Fi before we drive home.
I need a vacation from planning this already!
(do i hear bounceback??) :woohoo:

My sister got it too!! :thumbsup2 We will be there the following week and I guess the folks at the Mods were not getting upgraded. This is our very first time to stay at POR and when I told my DH about the upgrades he said he wanted to stay at POR if we are offered anything. So sorry, if they were to upgrade me to the Poly, I would have to take it. :rotfl2: Like that would ever happen anyway. ;)

woohoo-final payment cleared and I'm all paid up-all my ADRs are confirmed and now all I need to do is figure out the spending money. I really wish they would include tips for the DDP again its really messing with my calculating. That was the convenient part of it. I always save my change and singles and buy lotsa disney dollars for snacks and stuff-but i think its going to tips/gratuities this year....

My son loves Dinos too. I googled T-rex and the rainforest cafe and came across a site that you can buy gift cards. I am going to buy some for the kids before we go so that we don't have to spend as much money there. Plus they get excited about getting things before we go.

DH has been to WDW several times as a kid/teen but this will be my first trip. It's also the first trip for DS (4). We're going 9/13-9/18 and will be staying at POP!
Very excited about characters so with free dining I booked one character meal each day. :woohoo: I know - crazy! :lmao:
We're spending our first day (Sunday) at Ft. Wilderness with Hoop Dee Doo Review, Chip 'N Dale S'mores and maybe the movie. Monday through Thursday is for the parks and then Friday we have breakfast with Lilo & Stitch then explore DTD before hitting the road home.
I just hope I haven't over planned and overpacked! I am more excited than our 4 year old!;)

Lol, I switched around our ADRs again but only because Kouzzina was now available to be booked.
Sept 19
Kouzzina 7:35PM
Sept 20
The Wave 5:30PM
Sept 22
CRT 8:25AM
California Grill 5:30PM
Sept 23
Kona Cafe 7:30AM
Citricos 7:00PM
Sept 24
Akershus 1:50PM
Whispering Canyon Cafe 8:25PM
Sept 25
Chef Mickey's 7:00AM
Flying Fish Cafe 7:15PM
Sept 26
Grand Floridian Cafe 7:55AM
Sept 27
Donald's Safari Breakfast 8:00AM
Sept 28
HDDR 7:15PM
Sept 29
Crystal Palace 8:05AM
'Ohana 8:05PM
Sept 30
Raglan Road 8:00PM
Oct 1
Narcoossee's 7:55PM
Now my only problem I see is the similar desserts that will be eaten at 'Ohana and Raglan Road... I'm not too worried about that but it's something I don't prefer. Unfortunately, it's great that Raglan Road be on that specific night... I just know how impossible moving 'Ohana would be, oh well.
