We are Americans, so everything here in Europe is very expensive for us. I tried to book our hotel through Travelrepublic, and it will not accept our card. Any other country, yes, but not America. Why does the dollar get charged so much more over here?! I am getting charged almost $200 more for the same room, same night as everyone else. Just doesn't seem right to me... Sorry for my vent!

That is an old discussion here on the board. It is not only so expensive for your. It is also very expensive for us from Germany (or many other European countries) as only the guests from the UK and France get so many special offers.
We have to pay 200€ more for the same 4 day trip that visitors from the UK or France.
Life and also Disney are not fair. ;)

However we Brits get clobbered by the exchange rate, which those in the Eurozone don't. I mean, eight quid for a pint of lager?????

I think no matter where you live, Disneyland Paris is just expensive - and I don't think the Euro is entirely to blame :)
If we hadn't got the 40% discount, we'd have had to pay nearly £2000.00 for a 3 night stay at the Hotel New York, including Eurostar. My 'kids' 15, 12 and 4 mean that I need 2 rooms - under 7's stay and play free??
It's always been expensive - it's just the way it is.
But I absolutely love it...

Yep have to agree - it's just Disney so we pay it.
This trip has cost my parents 4 nights/5 days at Hotel New York for 4 adults and one child £2000 (including flights from Manchester).
It's a lotta dosh but it's a trip of a lifetime for some people and oh, so magical.
Dont want to be spending £8.00 for a pint though so will be keeping OH away from the bar and sending him upstairs for a brew instead.

It is realy expensive, but try figure this: If you travel alone, like i do, you pay the same amount as 2 adults for 1 room.
If you take the price of a package, and then subtracts the park tickets, i pay exactly the same amount as 2 adults for a hotel room. I only have 1 paycheck, seems kind of unfair to me.
One more thing. Some think that with the high prices on everything from hotels to entrance tickets and so on, that DLRP must make tons of money, but they dont. Last year they had their best year yet, they could not even pay their interest rate on their debt with the money they made. They have a 2 billon euro debt. If they could make a record profit of 100 million euro per year and with 45 million euro in financial charges, it would take them 40 years atleast to pay the money that they owe back to their creditors.
This year they have lost 85,4 million euros. So they continue to lose money, like the have done since they opend DLRP in 1992.
Below is a link, whith the latest figures, showing a loss of 85,4 million euros.

Below is a link, which shows the debt as of september 2007 (2004 million euros).

Oh, I know the park itself is expensive. What amusement park isn't? I don't mind that b/c you are paying for the atmosphere and experience. What erks me though is that you get all the different price quotes depending on which country you are from (and I know this has been discussed so many times). I tried to book the room through a U.K. sight, but they won't accept American credit cards. You all can get good deals though going to Florida!!! Your money will go alot farther right now!!:flower3: We are going to open a German bank account so we can have more options paying in Euro.

I think that going to DLRP is expensive for everyone. Last year we looked at how much it would be to go to the New York for a week in the summer (we were mainly planning to go to Paris for a few days as wel but stay there so we have the choice of going back to the parks as well) and it was actually cheaper to go to Florida for two weeks :rotfl2: so that is exactly what we did!
Maybe if they were to cut the prices down a little people would be willing to spend more and upgrade to the more expensive hotels and spend more and buy things in the parks. As it is you're spending that much money on food and water while you're there you've hardly got anything left for bring home anything!

I agree its expensive, i pay a room supplement as a single parent which pushes the price up even more....but i will pay it because i love Disney.
Next time i will remember not to book early as i missed the fab 40% offer.

At the moment you do, but it wont be so bad once the pound goes up again, which it will!

This is unfair, I think all offers should be available to all countries!
I agree though as it's Disney you expect it to be expensive, still it would be nicer if the offers were available for everyone :goodvibes
