Characters at The Cheyenne Hotel

We are staying at the Cheyenne Hotel and I believe that some of the characters pay a visit at certain times of the day. Do you know who and when? Also, do you know what time you can get into the parks when you stay at a Disney hotel, I think that you can get in earlier than the normal opening hours - is this correct?

I think the hotels have morning meet and greets and there is usually a programme/timetable on the foyer to let you know who and when they will be there.

There are Early morning hours where the park is open from 8-10am which is 2 hours earlier than normal but I think this depends on what time of year you go. If you go to the main website and go to the month you are travelling they will have the hours of opening up if not too far in advance.

The characters are at the Cheyenne in the mornings, from around 8am until 11am each day. There is usually a poster on the notice board between the check-in area and the public toilets, which shows you which 2 characters will be at the hotel each morning (they usually alternate the characters every 30 minutes).

You are right, when you stay at an onsite hotel, you get Extra Magic Hours, each morning (if they are operating each morning) from 8am to 10am. You just take your park tickets and your hotel ID card with you to the main park (you get this when you check in). The studios are not open during Extra Magic Hours.

Extra Magic Hours are posted on the official Disney site, and DLRPMagic, 3 months in advance, so you can check there if Extra Magic Hours are going on when you are at the Cheyenne :).

so far the characters i have seen at cheyenne are pluto & chip n dale. no others as yet!!!
and yes, they alternate!!
also - they seem to be there before 8am so maybe 7.30am??

We saw Mickey and Chip and Dale wandering around in the evening a few times when we were there last June. It wasn't scheduled, but they were wandering around the restaurant and the tables outside by the play area

We saw cowboy mickey outside reception next to the stagecoach after breakfast. Only a small queue. There was a little roped off waiting area and cm's - very civilised!

We usually see Mickey, Minnie or Goofy we have seen Donald on one occasion they are usually dressed in cowboy costumes. The best time to see them is early in the morning we have breakfast for about 7am and we see them after with very little queue. they do come out late afternoon aswell for the check-in times. They are usually in the reception area or just outside the reception area by the carriage it depends on which is more quite.

7.30am is the time the characters start there meet and greet, i should know we was the only ones in the queue at 7.20am one day :lmao:

Have only ever seen Pluto and Goofy there.

Dont forget anyone can visit the characters in any of the hotels so you could walk to the parks one day and call into New York to visit them as passing or make a short detour to Sequoia Lodge

Which hotel would Buzz Lightyear or Woody be at normally?

Those 2 aren't normally at any hotel, as they are not in the usual rotation of characters for the hotels. However, if they were likely to show up at any hotel, I guess (Woody anyway) it would be the Cheyenne.

I know my sister and her family saw Jessie at the Cheyenne, a couple of years ago.

I received a big hug from Cowgirl Minnie when I was checking out of the Cheyenne on our last trip. She came up behind me and tapped me on the shoulder as I was paying the hotel bill. I looked at my shoulder a saw a big white hand and as I turned around and she gave me a great big hug.

It is one of those magical Disney moments I will always remember.
