Hello all,

We are leaving for 2nd SURPRISE trip in 19 days. :banana:DH and I have completed 25 iron-on transfer shirts! All have been pre-washed. I have been studying old posts re: a vinegar wash for the shirts. I most certainly do not want these shirts ruined by a error made while washing them. Please share any wisdom, rules of thumb to guide me before I launder these shirts. To vinegar wash or not??????

TIA for all expert advice!!!

I did the vinager wash with my first set and they have turned out fine. They look just like they did before I washed them. I turned them inside out and washed them.

I have suggested the venegar wash many many times as a solution to problems people have posted. However, generally, I do not do it myself. If I know I have used a cheap transfer, I might use it, but otherwise I don't.

However, that said, I don't really think you can go wrong doing it. Just make sure you wash on the same temp or lower as you did the first time. If you only have a few shirts in the dryer at a time, make sure you put a towel or two in to help toss the shirts so they don't bunch up.

Good luck.

I have never used the vinegar.. Used all different kinds of transfers and have rarely had a cracked design.

I have never done the vinegar wash and probably never will.

Sorry I didn't do it last night. I didn't get to get back on after I got home.

Hope this helps you.
