Wilderness Lodge to Fort Wilderness

What is the best way to get from WL to FW? Is there a boat between the two? Any direct bus service? DH and I want to visit WL and have dinner at the buffet at FW.

We just stayed at WL and needed to get to FW for the HDDR. We were able to catch the boat at the dock and arrive within 10 minutes. This was a very easy way to get there. But there is also bus service available. Have fun!

Yep - the boat - it's quick and direct. A bus would take to to the TTC first I beleive, so it's a waste of time. Driving wouldn't take long either, but since the boat is so close and quick - that's the way to go. :D

My DW and I went to HDDR in May and we took the bus. There was a bus that left directly from WL and took a service road over to FW. We got there in less than 5 mins. This particular bus is designated for the HDDR. Buses to other parks take a different route to FW first, then to the parks.

You could take either bus or boat. The walk from the boat dock looked a little longer than the walk from the bus stop to me. I mention that only because we did HDDR after a long day at the parks. (Sore feet, you know!)

You can also walk the 3/4 of a mile walk along a path between WL and Fort Wilderness! :) You can also rent a Surrey bike to do this as well! :)
