Tomatos----please help!!!

Is it ok to put mulch around tomato plants? The weather here is really hot and I'm afraid the plant will dry up. Will mulch hurt the plant?

It's good to add mulch around your tomatoes, it helps to keep the soil moist and prevents weed growth......go for it! :)
