maybe try this?

visit.disneyparks.com/johndoe (yourfirstandlastname)

***type it EXACTLY like it is above, do not add a www. or http in front of it.****

Obviously replace the last part with your first and last name and see if it comes up. I got a postcard in the mail today with a pin and it had the URL above with my name. I ordered a video a few weeks ago from the coupons.com site, so this is how I got a pin, since my regular disney sign in address is my PO Box.

I just tried this and I did not see a pin. Where should I look for it? Is it on the screen or do I have to go under something else?

That's neat that it could work for some. Also, it would save CMs time while allowing people to check, thus saving Disney.

For some reason it doesn't show the pin code that I had associated with my name that I booked the kids play and eat free package with. Maybe it has since expired. I tried my name in all the variations I can think of.

:confused3

I'll check it again periodically.

Thanks!

Then I'm wondering... how could they use only our first and last names? I mean, for some of us there must be hundreds of people with our same first and last names. Does it work if you just copy that URL into the address bar or do you have to be in your email or something. It seemed so simple but I just don't see how they can differentiate. So.... I thought I must be doing something wrong.

I just tried it and it said "recipient not found" in the address bar

yes, same here - it says it in the address bar. but page comes up..welcome to your disney-dream-come-true maker... and says to click here for info, etc. but doesn't seem personalized to me at all. I've also tried typing not only my name, but of friends/family who have been to disney - and comes up the same way for them, too - two people of which I know recently got codes a couple months back.

I had received an email pin code. When I put my name in, it basically showed a screenshot of the email. Does that make sense?

I tried my friend's name, because I know she ordered the DVD and has not gotten any codes. There was one for her, too! I just e-mailed the link to her ;)

Trying different names... found one of my friends has a code on there that came up. But... I dont' get what they were offered. $82 a night at a value resort, some of the dates were 11/29-12/17 - um, when you go to disney's site, that is the price anyway - there is no savings. what do you need a code for to book regular price of the room during that time period?

I keep trying but where do I need to look for the PIN code?

Rosanne
04-26-2009, 07:54 AM
So then I'm thinking that maybe that URL works only for that particular postcard mailing. I have tried all variations of my name, all my sisters' names (who are also registered all over the place), even common names just to see if I could ever pull up a pin code. That's all I can figure. For those for whom it works that is great, though.

I tried the link but unfortunately I have a very popular name. The person who the code was intended to was not myself but one of the other 50,000 of me. LOL I knew I should of changed my name years ago. Thanks for the tip though it was pretty cool.

So I just tried my name and it basically shows the same dream maker thing I recieved as an email when I ordered a planning video. I had gotten a similar email previously when I ordered a video showing a percentage off. Then it was 20%, maybe I should order another video and perhaps get the 30%....ha ha.

Also, did anyone actually try good old john doe's URL. Lucky guy actually has 30% off himself. Do you think if I called claiming to be Jane Doe, I could use the code too?! :rotfl:

If you have a pin URL, it will have a pin code ON the page when you open it, with your name. If you are on a generic page that means there is no PIN URL for you.

Wow, this is great, thank you! :worship: I always feel a bit insane when I call to ask if there are pins attached to my name or my family members' names, so this is fantastic! I have a common last name, and a very common first name, so I'm assuming that the 20% off shown for my name is probably not for me. My sister who has a less common first name also has a 20% off pin, so I'm thinking that could be for her. Has anyone tried calling and telling the CM that you got the pin code off of this website? I'll call to check, but I'm wondering how weird it will be if I recite the pin code and then the address doesn't match up because it was for a different person with my sister's name.

Thanks again!

Oh, thank you! Unfortunately, neither of the email addresses associated with mine or my sister's name is actually ours! I wonder what would happen if one of my name twins and I both had pins... whose pin offer would be displayed when typing in "our" name. Anyway, thanks for pointing out the emails at the bottom - I will not bother calling now!

Hmmm.

There was a PIN offer for a person with the same first and last name - different email address so it isn't me.

I wonder how the system differentiates between people with the same first and last names?

first+middle+last?

first+middleinitial+last?

first+last+middle?

first+last+middleinitial?

I tried all of the above and none of them returned a PIN, but it doesn't prove how the system is programmed - just that I don't have a PIN...

Anyone try anything that might shed light on how it works?

Wow just scrolled down and noticed the email address associated with the pin (did johndoe). This has to be a glitch that you can look at things this way. I would imagine that Disney could get in trouble allowing anyone who knows about this to check someones name and get access to their email if they did indeed have a pin.

Is it only good for people that get pins via email? I've tried a few different friends that I know recently got post cards in the mail, and theirs didn't come up... however another friend did who is considering a trip next Jan. (I told her I would watch prices for her). It had her email associated with it, saying it had been sent to the email.

How do you let Disney know you want email offers? I've always gotten offers in the mail, and I'd love to get them via email as well/instead.

Those of you that found a pin did you enter the name all in lower case or does it not matter?

Rosanne
04-29-2009, 04:01 PM
I'm just guessing but it seems that that URL works for people for people whom Disney intended that specific code offer... 20-30%. So maybe if there were URLs for other specific codes others might have theirs under those. I have never ever gotten a pin code by mail but I have gotten a couple by email. I wonder if there were URLs on the emails.

So glad the OP's info is helping people out. After all, it was Disney's intention for the people to receive the codes so it is all good.

I got the pin on a postcard in the mail with the URL on it to see it online. At first I thought the point of giving me the URL was to allow me to book online with the pin, but that's not the case. Maybe they were hoping this little tip would get out to cut down on "do I have I a pin" calls :rotfl:

This has been my experience also. I didn't think the link really worked. I actually have three active pin codes on my name (form emails and calling) and I only get the Contact not found URL when I try it.

Could someone who can actually see PIN codes copy their URL while looking at the pin codes and paste it into this thread? You can replace your actual name with "<your name>" or something.

The link posted in my OP IS the link that takes you to the page where a pin would be if you had a pin URL (hence the reason I posted). If you don't have one, you get the generic page. I'm Sorry you are having trouble, but if you have three pins already, I would just call WDW directly to use one of them instead of worrying about whether or not you have a personal web page to go with it.

The reason for my post is to make it easier for some instead of sitting on hold forever to ask a CM.

Just wanted to say, "thank you" summerrluvv. The link worked perfectly. However, to clear up some confusion, I too have received multiple pins. The first one was received as a postcard in the mail, and the above link worked exactly as described (I read your post before I received the postcard). A couple of weeks later I received an email pin (associated with the same email account as the first pin). And surprise, surprise, the link no longer works for me. So it seems to me, that if you receive multiple pin offers, the link stops working. But as you said, who cares now that I know I have mutliple offers. You enabled me to find out sooner than I would have which I really appreciate.

Is the pin number the same as a package code ?

I tried this out and got the following

$473*
per adult, based on double occupancy
for stays most nights 8/16/09-10/3/09 at select
Disney Value Resorts in a standard room.
That's a savings of $199.

Offers can be booked through 6/21/09.

Mention package code XXX It was a three digit alaphetical code. I did not put it in here because I wasn't sure if it is only good for one use ? I might book . If I don't book I'd be glad to share it with someone else if they want it. Assuming that is okay to share a package code ? It's all confusing to me.

Are you required to buy a ticket for each day you are there ? What if you only want to go 3 days and go to Space Center a day and maybe Beach or other activity. I'm thinking it might be cheaper just to buy the room by itself and pay for tickets and food.

Thanks.

Is the pin number the same as a package code ?

I tried this out and got the following

$473*
per adult, based on double occupancy
for stays most nights 8/16/09-10/3/09 at select
Disney Value Resorts in a standard room.
That's a savings of $199.

Offers can be booked through 6/21/09.

That sounds like just a general package code and not a PIN. PIN codes are usually 13 or 15 numbers - as opposed to something like "NZZ" for a package deal, like free dining. (The dates you mentioned are the same as free dining...might be what they're offering you.)

For a package, you just have to buy one day passes for each person in your party. You can buy any number you want, but everyone has to have the same number days/options. If you add dining, its for the same number of nights you stay, so if you plan to be offsite a couple days, it might not pay off for you.

I did this tonight under a few names in our family none for us, but I did find that two of the promos running now were for disneyland and another for free dining which is the regular one anyone can get. when I put in a name that didn't have a code it just took me to the regular booking. I got the 2 offers twice under different names so I wonder if they are the only 2 going on right now. hhhmmm

I had tried every combination of name of every person in my family (nick names, abbreviated names, etc) and nothing showed up. Yesterday I looked in an old yahoo email account that we almost never use any longer and there was a Goofy PIN for Adults play at kid prices. MY FIRST PIN CODE!!! Now I just have the problem of it expires TODAY so we have to make a quick decision. I've already put a trip on hold under the code so we have a few extra days to decide.

These are called "Personal URLS" (or "PURLS" pronounced "pearls"). When you visit the site, they can trigger a notification back to someone at Disney that you looked at it.

I use this in my business - I market materials with PURLS and as soon as someone types in their PURL, I get an email saying they were at the site and I can follow up with them because by visiting the site, they showed an interest.

Perhaps Disney is doing the same thing.

I'm not sure if anyone else has had this happen (don't have time to read the whole thread right now) but I wanted to warn everyone that this doesn't always work. Please don't get to excited if you see a PIN code because it may not work.

I have checked that link several times since it was first posted here and nothing showed up under my name or my family member's names even though we did receive a few codes (nothing we could use).

Last night I checked again and I got so excited because I have been hoping for a free dining pin so I could switch our trip dates. There it was under my moms name and my email at the bottom. It was to late to call when I found it so I stayed up all night trying to plan my schedule to make sure the new dates would work.

First thing this morning I called to switch my dates and apply the PIN. Long story short....it DID NOT happen. The CM first tried to check using the PIN itself and nothing showed up. She then checked under each of our names. Nothing. She asked for addresses, phone numbers and emails to make sure but still nothing. She put me on hold twice for quite awhile to talk to her supervisor but there was nothing they could do. She said that not only was that PIN number not connected to any of our names, It did not exist at all. :sad1:

The page that showed up looked just like the other PIN emails I have received. It was titled "A Dream Offer for the ***** Family". It showed the PIN number in 2 different places and it said it could be booked until 10/3/09 so it wasn't expired. The dates on it were the same ones that have been posted by those who did get this PIN.

Just wanted to let everyone know so no one else gets disappointed like I did. I still think it's worth checking and calling to make sure but please learn from my mistake and don't get your hopes up.

I CANNOT believe this! I typed in everyone's name in our family, nothing.
Then, I tried my sister in law's name because she just registered for a free DVD. They are going with us in December. A PIN popped up with her name on it! UGG...it is too late to call. I will be so nervous until morning when I can check to see if it is really true!:rotfl:

Okay, reporting back to let you know what happened this morning. (See my post above from last night). I found the PIN code last night and called this morning. At first, the CM said it was not coming up. I was so upset. Then, he looked it up by my sister in law's zip code and it came up in his computer, but it was one number off! Very strange:confused3. He still let us use it. We are so excited! Free dining for December! Saved me $653.00!!!

Are you saying that you found a PIN on this site but your SIL didn't actually receive anything?

And it was one number off?

Just wondering about the details.

I keep looking at my emails everyday hoping that the PIN I found on the site just hadn't been sent out yet or something but no emails. It's still showing up on that site but we aren't getting anything and the CM couldn't find it.

Has this happened to anyone else?

Is there anything else I could/should try?

Any theories about why a PIN would be on the site but not in Disney's system? Isn't that site a part of Disney's system?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I thought maybe there was a code but it just hadn't been sent yet but the last time I checked the site (yesterday or the day before) it was GONE. I've been hoping it would show up in my email but nothing so far. :sad1: I'm assuming that since the code was removed from the site, we will not be getting it at all. My 1st two numbers were "10" also. Maybe I should check using "11" instead. It probably wouldn't help now since the code is gone. I tried it again this morning and it did load, but it wasn't right.... It did not come up with a pin code for my name - but I do have a pin code (FD for Oct/Nov/Dec).

So, all those who are getting a non-pin code page when you put your name in - don't despair! Disney may have changed the page now to remove the pin code link or something :confused3

All I can tell you is that it did not come up with a pin code page for me (I received my pin code via email) :confused3
