So here are some more obligatory Auntie pics of baby Caroline.
I LOVE this one...

Yea, I am so excited - Aunt Katie is here!

Part 2, coming right up!

Now on to Part 2...
Last Friday, we (me, Mom, Dad and brother Noah, age 13) went to the MS River Museum in Dubuque, IA. We also jaunted over to quaint and darling Galena, IL, to do some shopping and walking around.
First, we arrive - they have this GIANT paddle wheel in front of the museum. Sorry there is no one in front of it so you can guess scale - it was raining like mad that morning and we just wanted to get inside!
http://i249.photobucket.com/albums/gg234/DWGal210/IMG_0377.jpg
We then go inside and start exploring. I like museums anyway, but it's a very nice one. If you live in the area, I would suggest going - it's very informative but fun at the same time.
Here is Noah, getting to put his hand inside a tank and pet some kind of fish (I forget what kind)....I said no thank you, I'll just take the picture. :thumbsup2

Mom and Noah, next to a fish tank.
http://i249.photobucket.com/albums/gg234/DWGal210/IMG_0386.jpg
Then I reminded myself why I DON'T swim in the ocean or lakes....yikes! This was literally the biggest catfish I had ever seen.
http://i249.photobucket.com/albums/gg234/DWGal210/IMG_0399.jpg
But he had a cute little friend, a tiny turtle that was very content to just swim around....and Mr. Giant Catfish left him alone, which was good!
http://i249.photobucket.com/albums/gg234/DWGal210/IMG_0398.jpg
I actually had quite a few Disney moments on this little day-jaunt: The pic below is of a quote that wraps around their gift shop. I can't recall what it said, but the point is, it was a Winnie the Pooh quote from AA Milne! Neat!
http://i249.photobucket.com/albums/gg234/DWGal210/IMG_0407.jpg
Quote again...

Neat, huh?!
Next episode...Museum Part 2: Lizards, and lots of them!!
DWGal210
08-17-2009, 12:57 PM
The River Museum has a space for rotating exhibits, and the one this summer is about lizards. So 1/2 the top floor was all different kinds of lizards, small and large, and some very gross! :upsidedow (Can you tell I am not a big fan of lizards?!)
Here is my brother with a statue they had in front of the exhibit...I still can't figure out why he had a lab coat on, but whatever. :rotfl:
http://i249.photobucket.com/albums/gg234/DWGal210/IMG_0426.jpg
Then there's this guy - he can't save you money on car insurance, :lmao: but apparently he can captain a river vessel!
http://i249.photobucket.com/albums/gg234/DWGal210/IMG_0423.jpg
Here are some of the lizards we saw...

Our final pic in the lizard area was of me and Noah, in the lizard cutouts :goodvibes My mom wanted a picture of "the kids" and so we gave in.

http://i249.photobucket.com/albums/gg234/DWGal210/IMG_0427.jpg
It's kind of hard to tell, but this is how gloomy and cold it was that day. August 7th and it was FREEZING...it was cold outside AND they had the air conditioning on in the museum...brr!!!
http://i249.photobucket.com/albums/gg234/DWGal210/IMG_0428.jpg
Mom, Dad and Noah rolling on the river logs! Watch out!
http://i249.photobucket.com/albums/gg234/DWGal210/IMG_0436.jpg
Mark Twain, just hanging out, reading a book...:goodvibes
http://i249.photobucket.com/albums/gg234/DWGal210/IMG_0441.jpg
About 2:00, we departed for Galena, IL. It's a darling, quaint town only about 20 minutes from Dubuque (so less than 2 hours total from my house). They have tons of fun shops all up and down this long, twisting street. Here are a few pictures of the shopping area:
http://i249.photobucket.com/albums/gg234/DWGal210/IMG_0444.jpg
http://i249.photobucket.com/albums/gg234/DWGal210/IMG_0445.jpg
http://i249.photobucket.com/albums/gg234/DWGal210/IMG_0446.jpg
I had Disney moments #2 and #3 in the shops. In a toy store, they had the 75th Anniversary edition Mickey Monopoly! I was so going to get it, but the price turned me off. Never fear - I am bidding on one from Ebay as we speak! :woohoo:
Moment #3 came in a collectibles store. They literally had just about every Jim Shore Disney figurine known to man-and-woman kind! It was so hard to resist - my spare bedroom / office has become my Disney place, and I am collecting the smaller figurines and placing them in that room. But I held onto my cash, knowing I would be at Disney before long, and resisted.
At this point, Noah decided he wanted me to take pictures of him running down this giant, stone paved hill. (Some might tell you that Iowa and Illinois are all flat - they are not! Suffice it to say, I would not like to live in either Dubuque OR Galena in winter - some of those hills would be murder with ice on them!)
http://i249.photobucket.com/albums/gg234/DWGal210/IMG_0448.jpg
http://i249.photobucket.com/albums/gg234/DWGal210/IMG_0449.jpg
Success!
http://i249.photobucket.com/albums/gg234/DWGal210/IMG_0450.jpg
I just had to take a picture of this tree....We were outside the museum, getting ready to leave, and we notice this lone tree on top of this hill, all by itself. I thought it was funny, so I had Mom pose in front so it wasn't like I was just taking a picture of the tree on the hill. :goodvibes
http://i249.photobucket.com/albums/gg234/DWGal210/IMG_0442.jpg
We had a great day - since it was only 2 hours from hom, we were able to sight-see, do a little shopping and then have some dinner and go home. Other than it being unseasonably cold, we had a great day!
Onto scrapbooking!
DWGal210
08-17-2009, 02:57 PM
On to scrapbooking!
I aplogize in advance that some of these pictures are tilted...I loaded them into Photobucket at my brother's house (since my computer is acting up) and then log in today and realize some of them are all a-jumble. :rolleyes1 Oh well, tilt your head or use your imagination! :rotfl:
My goddaughter came over last week to scrapbook. She's my Disney buddy and a blast to hang out with. She's 9, going on about 17. :lmao: A very sweet girl, but sometimes I have to remind myself that she is only 9 - she can carry on conversations and is fun to be with, which you don't always get with a kid that age!
For her birthday this past year, I started a scrapbook for her, since they were going on the Disney Cruise over Spring Break in March. Being that it was almost the end of summer, we thought we should get started on it now. :goodvibes
Here are some pictures of her, getting things ready to roll: My dog Riley also makes appearances in some of these pictures. :goodvibes I thought it was SO CUTE that she brought her pirate Mickey ears to wear! A girl after my own heart! pirate:

http://i249.photobucket.com/albums/gg234/DWGal210/IMG_0459.jpg
We then got rolling. She is very creative, and so I just let her loose in my craft closet and said, "Go for it!" :thumbsup2

Have a great day, everyone!

So on Saturday night, my friend Bekka and I went to see Kelly Clarkson!
In short - it was INCREDIBLE. First of all, to all those crazy gossip magazines who are casting remarks about her weight; she looks fantastic. I really couldn't see what they were saying about her gaining weight. She probably weighs a whopping 130 lbs. Whoa, Kelly! :goodvibes j/k That always drives me nuts - the same magazines that run stories about celebrities gaining a few pounds also, sometimes in the same issue, run stories about stars who are too thin. :confused3 No wonder there are girls with eating disorders!! That just ticks me off.
OK, sidebar done, coming off my soapbox now. :rotfl:
Second, that girl can SING. Oh my goodness - I was tearing up a few times, she was so good. It really awakened in me the desire to start singing again. I sang pretty much straight through junior high - middle of college and then was kinda burned out so I stopped. But seeing her, and seeing how amazing she was, really made me evaulate getting back into it.
Here are some pictures from the night. We had great seats - we were only a bit off to the left of the stage. If you ever get a chance to see her, go. I'm telling you, you'll be blown away!

She really does put on a great show. And she actually sings, not one of these pop stars that records their music and then pipes it out of the speakers during the concert. This chick can sing. :thumbsup2
She also did a few other songs, like a Patsy Cline number that was breathtaking and also "If" by Janet Jackson. I read an interview with Simon Cowell where they asked him who was the best idol thus far and he said "by a mile" it was Kelly. I felt like such a dork cause I was tearing up during some of her songs, but she is just that good. And a good roll model too, which I appreciate.

OK, so before we go on, I have to correct a spelling error (I was an English major in college and those things just scream to me when I see them!)
In my last post, I put "roll model" instead of "role model." DUH! Must not have had my coffee that day. Anyhoo, moving on....
So back to trip planning. We called Disney again on Monday and verified that yes, we in fact CAN make our ADR reservations on 9-27. It's a Sunday morning - my aunt and I are planning on being on the phone at 6 AM Central, bright and early, to get reservations! Our plan is for both of us to call, each armed with the schedule, and whoever gets a live person first will make the reservations.
In looking at dining, the numbers we've crunched say that Tables in Wonderland is going to work better for us than the Dining Plan. Since there are 8 of us, there is automatic gratuity added in, and with the TiW deal, they pretty much cancel each other out.
We've also decided that at some places, we're eating lunches instead of dinners. My aunt and uncle with steal away and have a few dinners just them, and probably my sister and I will either take them back to the hotel for counter service OR someplace like 50s Prime Time, Sci-Fi, etc.
I will post our exact schedule of 'wants' when we get that figured out, but for the time being, here is out list of "for sure going to make ADRs :thumbsup2"
*Biergarten
*Le Cellier (either just adults OR lunch)
*Boma (just adults meal; when they were there last year, their kids just ate $25 worth of chicken nuggets etc, so it's just adults this time! :lmao:)
*O'Hana - our favorite place to eat
*Raglan Road - we'll probably do this the night we get there, since we have to go to DTD anyway to pick up the TiW card.
*Sci-Fi
*Kona Cafe - Tonga Toast, here we come! YUM! :woohoo:
*Coral Reef
So that's the list of "for sure"; we might try a few others, like Yak & Yeti or Tutto Italia, but not sure. We're there for 9 nights so we could have a dinner each night, but we also don't want to spend a ton of money either. :rotfl: So some of the places will be lunch instead of dinner.
COMING NEXT: SCHEDULE of ADR days! (My favorite part - you know I love a plan! :lovestruc)

Hi! I'm delurking with a tip ( i hope thats ok!). I just made my ADR's on wednesday. I woke up at 545 am Eastern Time, and was able to get everything i wanted, even Le Cellier! I loved the online system, and the fact that I didnt have to try to talk to someone about when I wanted things and such made it a much smoother process. I recommend a trial run a few days ahead to get the feel for the online process, but its super simple. Ok I'm done butting in! :)

I am way pumped about Le Cellier. I think we are doing that just my aunt, uncle and myself, since my aunt doesn't really want to pay $35 for a steak for the 16 year old. :rotfl: But it will be nice to have an adult dinner!
We had Boma at our June 08 trip - it was so great!! Again, that might be an adult-only one, as they paid for their kids to eat there last year and of course the kids just wanted chicken nuggets and mac n cheese. :goodvibes

Well, I think we are going to try the online ADR system, and then call them after we do it to double-check that they have our reservations. I think that you can go online like an hour earlier than if you call, so we're going to go for that.
We go to Raglan Road each trip. My uncle loves their fish n chips and some Irish beer they have there. (Can you tell I am not a beer person? I don't even know the name :lmao:)

So sorry I have been MIA for weeks now. If you haven't read the previous posts, I have a new job and this coming weekend (the 27th) is our biggest fundraiser of the year. We do a Triathlon and so this week is a lot of running around, getting things figured out, vendors talked to, etc. So starting in October, I will be 100% more sane than I am now and ready for Disney!! :thumbsup2
In planning news, my aunt and I mapped out our ADRs this weekend. Of course, the day we call is the 27th, and I am not going to be able to help her so she is graciously getting up early to do that. Our list is as follows (and of course keeping in mind that we may not be able to get all we want):
Saturday, 26th: Arrival at 1:45 pm, dinner at Raglan Road in DTD
Sunday, 27th: Kids eating dinner at Sci-Fi, Aunt and Uncle having a no-kids dinner at California Grill
Monday, 28th: My sister and I will hopefully do our tour this morning; we also want to hit up Beaches and Cream to get the Kitchen Sink so this might be the day we do that. I also think this is the night Aunt and Uncle are doing adults-only at Boma.

Hi Katie!! Your ADRs DO look great!!
Thanks, ladies! I talked to my aunt last night, since I was at the Triathlon all day, and I guess we got most of our ADRs with just a few small changes. I know for sure we weren't able to get Yak and Yeti, but we got the others. :wizard: Sweet!!
Now we are about 89 days out (not that I am counting, or anything :goodvibes) and I am so ready to go!! Yee-haw!!

So there are a few Disney items still on my list to get ready for this trip. Among them are:
- Get some capris while they are still on sale at places like Lands End. (I found a cute pair that is $14.99 on their website!)
- Buy my goddaughter her Christmas present; she wants one of those duffel bags you can customize and buy on the Disney shopping site, so that's what I am getting her this year. For the last few years, she's picked out her gift and then let me know what she wanted, and that system works out great for us. :thumbsup2 Then I don't have to guess what she wants! Score!
- Decide on just how many suitcases I am taking. I know that AirTran charges you for your bags - I think it's $25 for the first one and $15 for the second bag. And I think that's each way. So if I take 2 bags, I will be paying $80 just to check bags, if I check 2; it's $40 for just one bag. I am trying to not be angry about this - we did get a great deal on the airline tickets so I guess the baggage charge isn't that bad. But do I take 1 or 2 suitcases?? We have laundry in the villa, so that will be nice, but I will still have shoes, makeup, etc - - plus I want to have room for a few souvenirs! What should I do? :confused3
- I know this sounds crazy, but I think this weekend I am going to go through all my "extras" and make a list of what I need to pack. I am notorious for taking band-aids, Tylenol, hand sanitzer, etc cause it's so expensive to buy those on site. But they also take up precious suitcase room, and I don't need an entire bottle of Tylenol, maybe just a travel size. I am keeping my eyes out for any good deals - if anyone sees any, let me know! :thumbsup2
I think that's it for now - we are getting closer and closer to Disney Days! :yay: :yay: :yay:

So here are some new pics of my niece Caroline. They were in town 2 weekends ago for her first "out of town" car ride to come see Grandpa, Grandma, aunts and uncles. :goodvibes My cousin, who is 3 (the one that's on the trip with us in December) went up to her, gave her a kiss on the head and said, "I'm so happy to see you!" We just about melted into a puddle at that point - it was so sweet!! princess:

I owe my aunt, big time. She did our ADRs online from 2-4AM on Sunday morning. Wowza!! And we got all but one of the restaurants we wanted, so that is awesome! Here is our final ADR list, for your viewing pleasure: :goodvibes

- Sunday the 27th: Kids dinner @ Sci Fi at 5:30pm, Adults dinner @ CA Grill at 5:55pm
- Monday the 28th: Adults dinner at Boma at 5:45pm
- Tuesday the 29th: Tusker House b'fast at 8:00am, dinner at O'Hana at 6:00pm
- Wednesday the 30th: Lunch at Le Cellier, 11:30am - this might also be the day we try the Kitchen Sink at Beaches and Cream.
- Thursday the 31st: NYE B'fast at Kona Cafe, 9:20am
- Friday the 1st: Biergarten lunch at 2:30pm
- Saturday the 2nd: Coral Reef, lunch at 1:05pm
- Sunday the 3rd: Adults at Jiko, 6:25pm, kids at O'Hana, 6:30pm
- Monday the 4th: Fly home.
So how does that look? Pretty good, huh? The only one we didn't get was Yak & Yeti, but that's OK - we got everything else we wanted, and that was pretty awesome! :thumbsup2

Hi there! Nice to see you!
The Triathlon went really well - this weekend I just crashed. I worked about 12 days straight leading up to and then including the Tri last weekend, so on Saturday I didn't even shower until about 5 pm. :thumbsup2 It was so nice to rest and take a rest. We're already planning for 2010, which is hard to believe, but I am the type of person that likes to plan as much as possible ahead of time so I am not overwhelmed as the date drawers nearer. :thumbsup2 Thanks for asking how it went, I appreciate it!

Thank you for the sweet words about Caroline! She is our joy in our family. There were a few baby meltdown moments, but all in all, she did a great job!
I am an adult, I'm 27. My sister and I (she is 18) are going with my aunt, uncle and their kids. My aunt and uncle are going to duck out for a few meals just the two of them, and so when they do that (like the night we go to Sci Fi) my sister and I will take the kids to eat. The kids are 3, 9, 14 and 16. :wizard:

Good eating! We are only making two table service plans for that trip, because we're going cheap. We booked Crystal Palace for the 28th and since none of us have ever tried Mama Melrose, I just booked us a lunch there for NYE. I know it doesn't get rave reviews, but we're easy to please, and we like to try all things for ourselves. We may or may not keep it as time gets closer, but since we'll be staying at Pop, I thought we might go over to Hollywood Studios to do some things early, eat lunch, and then that will leave all afternoon for rest and whatever before we go to the Poly for a late, late night.

Crystal Palace is one of my favorites - great choice! I just love that one. And I think trying Mama Melrose is a great idea; I sometimes think I pay too much attention to what other people think about places and should just try them before I make up my mind. You'll have to let me know what you think!
I LOVE POP...my goddaughter and I will go together next fall (hopefully for free dining!!) and I think we are going to stay there. Her parents have DVC points but then we couldn't do free dining - and honestly, I love POP. The theming is great, it's comfortable; and for the time you spend in the room, it's perfect. :thumbsup2

So last night, I made our reservations for the Keys to the Kingdom tour. :thumbsup2 Awesome!!
My original plan was to take the tour on Monday, the 28th. However, when I called, the Tour is closed from the 25th - Jan 2nd. Thankfully we are there the 3rd, so our tour is Sunday, January 3rd at 8:30AM. We then have lunch at Columbia Harbour House.
Just my sister and I are doing this tour. It's to commemorate her high school graduation, which was this past May. (Hey, better late than never, huh? :rotfl:)

Hey there Katie! How are things with you and your family?
I'll for sure let you know how the tour goes. I'll be updating Facebook while I am down there too. :thumbsup2 There are quite a few tours, and this is one of them where kids under 16 are not allowed. I think that's because you go beneath the MK into the tunnels and they don't want any little kids seeing Mickey without his head! :scared1: But it's a reasonable price, I thought; for 2 of us, it was $130 (including tax) and you each get a lunch voucher for Columbia Harbour House. There are all different price points; check em out! The next one I want to do is at Epcot, also a behind-the-scenes.
We have never eaten at CHH. Weird, I know. The theme of this trip is "do things you haven't done before." We always seem to go to the same places and do the same rides, which is fun and I always have a good time...but it's nice to spice it up and add some new things too. :woohoo:

Keys to the Kingdom is really great! But you don't get a lunch voucher (unless they have changed the tour), you actually get to eat at CHH with the whole group in a rope offed area. Very nice! When you check in for the tour at Guest Relations inside the MK, you are asked to order what you want for lunch (I think it was the full CHH menu to choose from) and then it will be served to you when your group arrives.
We did the 8:30 tour as well and that was a wonderful time slot (won't spoil why), but make sure to arrive with plenty of time to spare to check in, deal with your lunch order and then experience Main Street and the hub without anyone around. I think we arrived around 8 am for our 8:30 tour and that was perfect! :thumbsup2

Awesome - thank you SO MUCH for the great info!! :thumbsup2 That is so nice that your meal is ready for you when you get there, and you have a special place to eat it. Sweet!
I was thinking we would get there early, too. We'll be staying at Saratoga during that time (split stay), so I figured if we were at the bus stop at 7:15AM that would get us there in time. The busses are kind of a gamble, but they come to Saratoga quite often so we shouldn't have an issue.

So if you remember (and maybe you don't, and that's OK too :lmao:), I am putting together travel / fun kits for the kids. I have been STALKING the $1 section at Target - most times, they have some cute cheap things for kids, like pencils and pens, temporary tattoos, etc. The other day, I picked up a few $1 books for the 3-year old.
However...I am still on the fence if I should give them to them at the airport OR do I have them shipped to the resort so the kids can open them when we check in?? It would be nice to have them on the plane, but they could use them on the way back too. I was just thinking it would be neat to have some presents in our room for them to open up when we arrive. Also - I could give them to them on Christmas, but since we don't give gifts to all the cousins (there are 20 of us), I don't want the other kids to think they're being slighted. Make sense? :goodvibes
I just don't know what to do - help me decide! :yay: TIA!

I'm with wigd. I'd want some things for the plane, and when they actually get to Disney World, that's going to be plenty exciting in itself.
I got a PM from tecdavidt, and he and his wife plan to have another rockin' awesome room at the Poly, so hopefully we can camp out on their lawn NYE night for fireworks. He said they are definitely up for a DIS meet. Our plans are just to go over around ten, I'm guessing, lay out a big blanket, and have a Captain Cook's picnic while we wait for all of you guys to come along. Don't you think two hours time will be plenty to get a good spot?

I'm torn about when you should give the gifts to the kids. If it's stuff you really think will keep them entertained on the plane ride, then I'd give it to them before you leave.
If it's stuff that's fun but won't necessarily hold their attention for a few hours, I'd ship it in advance. It's always nice to get a surprise when you arrive as a special way to start your stay in The World.
Good luck, I'm sure they will love regardless of when you decide to give it to them. :thumbsup2

Thanks for the input, gals. After thinking it through, I think I'll do a bit of both as was suggested; a few things for the plane and then some more giftage when we get there. I was thinking that for the plane, I would give out the books, coloring, etc; and then when we got to the resort, I would give them their pins. I thought they could either choose to start pin trading, or just have a neat pin to put on their school bag or whatever, their choice. I'm sure their parents will LOVE me for getting them started pin trading. :goodvibes I found a few pins on Ebay that I like, and I think I'll get those in the next week or so. Also, we're going to Disney Live! next weekend, so maybe they'll have some fun stuff there that I can buy undercover and take home with me for their trip bags! :thumbsup2

We're going to be at our hotel that whole day (not brave enough to go to MK or another park on NYE :goodvibes) so we'll be raring to go for firework watching. I think 2 hours is just fine. This afternoon, we went and saw Toy Story 1 and 2 in 3D! We had a great time! It was so neat to see the movies again in the theatre....and in 3D it was just so much fun!
It was me, my brother, my aunt and 3 cousins. The 3 year old went with us and although we were unsure he would make it through 2 movies, he did great! He was so cute, sitting there eating his popcorn and laughing. :lovestruc It was precious!
It just put me that much more in the mood to go on vacation in a few short months. My goddaughter and I already have a date to go see "The Princess and the Frog", which comes out right before we leave. I figure it'll be a nice way to kick off our holiday vacation. :santa:

I thought so too! They did an awesome job in 3D. :thumbsup2
And leave it to Disney, those marketing geniuses; here we all are, paying $$ to see a movie in a theatre that most of us probably own! :rotfl: Oh well, it was a great way to spend a dreary Sunday afternoon and we had a great time!!

Oh 3D Toy story - that sounds so neat! My kids loved, loved, loved Toy Story when they were little. I watched it a million times. It would be fun to see it in 3D. Guess I will have to recruit the nephews for that!
Yes, you should take the nephews - I bet they would LOVE it! We had such a great time. :thumbsup2

Hi readers -
Hope everyone had a nice weekend! It was SO COLD here!! And today they are saying we might get some snow flurries - that is just unacceptable! :scared1: Oh well - a nice night to curl in front of the fireplace and do some trip planning, I guess!!
My last real hurdle before this trip is to lose some more weight. Without getting into TMI territory - I have a "female issue" where I have very painful cycles. So for nearly the last 4 years, I have been on the bc shot. Big mistake. Sure, I didn't have debilitating pain anymore, but it's a steroid (no one told me that!! :headache:) and so I have been steadily gaining weight the past few years, about 50 lbs. Yuck!! It makes me so mad!
I have been off the shot for about 4 months now and slowly but surely, I am starting to be able to lose weight. I've lost about 10 lbs so far but would like to lose another 15 before we go to Disney. I think that's do-able; that averages out to about 1.5 lbs per week, which is safe and I think I can do it.
Just wanted to share with my friends cause I think I will need some support in this - it's just been emotionally hard to gain this weight and have such a hard time taking it off. I know the most important thing about a person is their inside spirit and their heart, but I would still like my outside to be a thinner one than I am now. :goodvibes
Thank you, everyone! Now I am off to read the rest of Lady Lallie's PTR...I am on page 10 of 50 right now, have to read more before she updates again!! Have a great Monday!

I subsrcibed to your PTR a while ago, but just finished reading it today, so I'm late to the party here. All your plans sound like so much fun. DH & I are going with our older DS & DDIL, Dec 6 - 15, celebrating DS's 30th birthday (where else would you celebrate a thirty year old's birthday!?) We also have the KTTKTour lined up. All the times we've been there & we've never done any tours. DH & I finally did a behind the scenes tour at Disneyland last year (of course, no utilidors there!).
On purses - I bought the VB mini hipster. I usually wear a fanny pack, but thought I'd try this instead. I've worn it to a few ballgames and it was very comfortable.
Good luck in taking off the weight - it's tough (I know!).

Hi there! Thanks for reading!
I would LOVE to spend my 30th bday at Disney, sounds like a good plan to me! :thumbsup2 You'll have to let me know when you get back what you thought of the KTTK tour. I've heard great things about it but would be interested in your opinion, too!
I love those VB bags! They are coming out with some really cute patterns now. When I was younger, I used to think they were a bit too old for me, but now they are doing some super-cute stuff. I decided on the larger hipster cause I'll be carrying my camera as well.
Thanks for the good thoughts! I know I just have to not freak out about it and take it one day at a time. It's not going to come off in a day and I have to be adult about it and stay with it! :yay: I'll keep you all posted!

So I found the CUTEST bags online to hold the gift contents for the kids!! Which one do you like better?? There are 6 in each set which is perfect. I am guessing that they give you multiples of the designs shown. Which one do you prefer?? They are both right around the same price; $12 for 6 bags which is right in the budget! Score! :cool1:

I really do too!! My only concern with the 1st one is that 3 of the 5 kids are boys, and if I get 2 of each design....one of them looks a bit pink to me (it appears there are 2 with Mickey and 1 with Minnie). But maybe that's just the way it looks on the screen. And the 3 year old wouldn't care, he's just 3 :goodvibes so maybe the two older boys will get the red ones, and then the two girls will have the Minnie ones.
Thanks for the vote! :thumbsup2

And I am hooked!! Those people are talented!!! :wizard:
I don't want matching shirts for the whole trip, but what I would like to get is maybe a shirt for each of us girls, and then one each for the kids in their gift bags. If I am reading these threads right, a lot of people get the PDFs and then just make iron-on transfers from them; that would be sweet!!!
I would really like to get a cute Mickey head in safari gear for AK, and then perhaps get the kids each their favorite character. I am torn, they are all so cute!!!!! They are so talented!! :worship:

good luck on the weight loss- i feel for you- i have horrible PMS as well. right now, i just take prescription naproxen. I haven't been in on BC in over 10 years and will never be again. We want another child and had to to in vitro to have our first after two years of trying and a year of fertility treatments, so no BC for us- we want to be preggo! lol but that time of the month is horrible for me too. It can be so debilitating with back pain, headaches and stomach pain that it affects me to the point of missing work (or being miserable at work all day). you aren't alone there.

You bet! It's a really good TR - I'll be going over there shortly to update myself. :thumbsup2
I'll be posting more about our plans soon. We just love Disney at Christmas; yes, it's crowded and there are lots of people around, but if you know that going in, it's not bad. We are avoiding the parks on NYE and probably New Year's Day as well until later in the evening. I've read tips on other TRs that say to utilize those EMH because then the locals clear out and the park is less crowded, so we might have to do that. :cool1:
Thanks again for reading, and take care!

congrats on your 10lb weight loss. :thumbsup2 It is really hard to lose weight. I try and fail multiple times before I can really stick to a diet. I think 1.5 lbs is a very reasonable goal. The only thing that works for me is weight watchers because I am: (1) forced to write down everything I eat (2) forced to count the points associated with everything I eat, and (3) forced to make healthy choices so I can eat more food.
I agree with you about the creative people who create the signs and T-shirts. They are all so great! I wish I could do it!

Hi MEK!
Thanks for the encouraging words. I appreciate it! I have done WW before as well and that does work for me. I haven't done as well on the other "diets" because to me, they don't take into account having a real life with travel, business meetings, etc. So I think counting points again is a good idea. I've been really watching what I eat but am not counting as religiously as I should so I'll get back on that.
Thanks again!

Ok so I skimmed the first dozen pages and then read the last 4 pretty thoroughly so sorry for anything I missed in between!
Awesome - thank you!! :worship:
I love "behind the scenes" stuff (I usually watch the additional features on the DVD before I watch the movie:lmao:) so I know we'll really enjoy this!! :thumbsup2
I always watch it after! It's so fun! I love when dvd's come with a whole extra disc of special features! Can't wait to hear about the tour!
:santa:
Have a great week, everyone!!
That must've been so cute seeing him in those 3-D glasses and watching it and laughing and eating popcorn! Adorable!! I really loved it so much more in 3-D!
Can't wait to see The Princess and the Frog!! That's going to be great. I'm glad you already have a date set to see it! ;)
I love both of the options for the bags really! But I think the first option is a little better! I was thinking that you could stagger the gifts...give a few for the plane, a few more when you get there and then maybe a bit more for Christmas and have the big one then.
Watching the fireworks from the Poly sounds heavenly! I'm so excited for this tr! I wish I could go over NYE! It's my 2nd favorite holiday after the 4th...because I just love fireworks!

I looked at the gift bags again today, I was going to put in my order. Well, they are about 7" x 6 1/2", so they are small gift bags. The others though are larger, about 12" x 10 1/4"; those aren't AS cute, but they are bigger. Oh good grief - what to do now?!

I am going to divide this into more than 1 part, since there are lots of pictures. :goodvibes
We left to go to Des Moines in the early afternoon. By 4:30PM, we were in Des Moines and had checked into our hotel. We then went to the mall and had our delicious Cheescake Factory meal! (YUM!!) I don't have any pictures of the meal, but we were STUFFED when we got out of there. My aunt had the petite sirloin and broccoli, I had the fish tacos, and the kids had pasta. We then of course each had to have a piece of cheescake!! It was SO GOOD!! The 3 year old just attacked his cake; you know how large those slices are, and he ate 1/2 of it, all by himself! :scared1: I had visions of a sugar rush coming on! :goodvibes
We then checked back into our hotel, went swimming and then to bed. In the morning we had the hotel breakfast, packed up our room and we were on our way to Disney Live!

In true Disney fashion, they didn't miss an opportunity to do some marketing. :rotfl: There was TONS of stuff here, and most of it was pretty pricey, but we were on a mini vacation, so didn't feel too bad about spending some money. :goodvibes

A Mickey spinner! Cool!
http://i249.photobucket.com/albums/gg234/DWGal210/PersonalPictures018.jpg
Here is Sadie modeling the Tigger hat that came with our cotton candy. We later figured out it was a hat and NOT a mask since there were no eye-holes cut. Duh! :rotfl:
So do you want to know the cost for 2 cotton candies (with foam Tigger hats) and a take-home water bottle with lemonade in it?? $30!!! :scared1: I kid you not! I about fell out of my shoes when I heard that. I guess it was because the cotton candy had that foam Tigger hat on it that they felt it was OK to charge that much, but oh man! Oh well, we were on a mini-vacation so what can you do?
We then take our seats....ready to go!

Also, that was NOT a scary pic of you. It was actually really pretty princess:

I know, $30 was steep; I guess I wasn't paying attention and asked for the cotton candy with the hats (I probably could have bought it without). But oh well! :goodvibes

GO!!! That's all I can say! I am a DOI (disney on ice) vet! The princesses one was my absolute favorite one--out of that, Nemo on Ice and Incredibles take over Disney Land. I'm going to one in December too! The princess one was amazing...especially the Sleeping Beauty part. But I don't want to ruin anything. :goodvibes
Also, at the princess one, we got Flounder hats that are very similiar to that Tigger one! I lost it though, but wish I still had it! There was also a treasure chest with cotton candy.
ANYWHO...Disney Live looks awesome too! That story line sounds pretty cool! I've never heard of that! But now I want to see one! I wonder if there's one coming to my area...hmmmm...

Hi all -
I just wanted to share my excitement; I was one of the people chosen to have an at-home Disney Cruise Line party! Woo Hoo!
I'll let you all know what's in the packet of goodies.
I figured I would make it really low-key and have my cousins over the house (the ones that I am going on the trip with). We can do some crafts or just watch a movie. We'll see - I'll keep you posted on what I decide to do!
Take care, everyone!

Well, they said in their email that I would get the stuff shipped to my house by November 14th. I think I'll just have a few of my cousins over, we'll do some crafts, watch a Disney movie, etc.
I got an email a few weeks ago, inviting me to enter. I don't know if it's because I am registered with DCL (since we went last year) or if it's because I did a WDW in-home party. But I filled it out, then heard back a few days ago that I was chosen! I'll fill you all in on what comes in the package. I bet it's some good stuff!!

You know, I don't know how I got that initial email or why I was chosen in the end. The questions were very simple, things about who lives in your house, have you ever been on a DCL vacation, etc. I don't even think there were essay-type questions, just yes/no/pick the answer, that type of thing.
I'll make sure and post pictures when I get that package in the mail! :thumbsup2

Hey there! Yes, those prices about killed me, I couldn't believe it. :scared1: It was one of those things, too, where the kids asked for it and then I didn't even glance at the price before I ordered, and then when he told me $30, I didn't want to hold things up and say no thanks....I'm just non-confrontational like that. :goodvibes But it was shocking!!

And I think they will look cool in my bathroom, as well - the style of the pictures is kind of Art Deco (think the '30s and '40s) and since my bathroom is only beige right now, I think I can pretty much do any style. :goodvibes

Hi friends,
Just another quick update. I have turned a corner in my thinking about my weight struggle and wanted to share it will all of you. :goodvibes
Since this medication is not yet out of my body, I am still having a heck of a time losing weight. (I did some more research online this week and found that others that have taken it are also in my same boat, which to an extent makes me feel better.) However, I have been walking each day and using my Wii Fit at night to do things like yoga stretches and some strength activities like push-ups. I can feel myself getting better and I feel "lighter", if that makes any sense, even if the scale is not budging.
Where I have turned a corner is in my mind, I guess. It kind of bums me out that I am not going to be thinner for this trip; I don't like taking pictures or seeing pictures of myself right now. And for a while there, I was having a hard time getting excited about going since I could see that I wasn't going to be the weight I would have liked. BUT I have come to the realization that I just have to do what I can do, and not worry about the rest. I know that I am working at it, and that's what matters. So what if I won't look like my 18 year old sister in her swim suit....that's OK! I really do feel better this week and it's cleared up my mind a lot that I've now switched my thinking.
:lovestruc Just wanted to update all my DIS friends. Thanks so much for your support, it truly means a lot to me!
Have an AWESOME day!

Hey there! After I comment, I am off to read more of your TR....:surfweb:
Well, I am supposed to have a party and give it away; I think I am going to have my cousins over (the ones that are going to be on the trip with me) and we'll do the crafty items. Then I'll keep the rest and add little goodies to birthday presents, etc.
I would LOVE to take another cruise! We did in June 08 and it was awesome, I would do it again in a heartbeat. :lovestruc I am thinking that I would like to do a 2011 cruise when the Dream gets up and running - perhaps that spring or summer.

Hi there all!
Since it's another slow time at work right now :rotfl: I wanted to update you all on what was going in the kid's goody bags.
I've decided that I am going to give them their bags at the airport; I'm taking a duffel-type bag as my carry-on and since I'll only have a book and my DVD player in there, there will be plenty of room for their gifts! Plus, this will give me a bit of extra room to pack things on the way home. :thumbsup2
So in the bags there will be:
- A Mickey pen (found these on the $1 rack at Target)
- Some Disney-themed snacks (I've seen raisins with the characters, plus I'll get some Princess and Cars themed fruit snacks and stick some of those in there
- 2 lip glosses each for the girls (again, $1 Target find)
- A Tink shirt for my sister
- Some little books for the 3 year old (Another $1 find!!)
- Mickey marshmallow treats; a few days before we leave, I am going to make rice crispie treats and then use a Mickey cookie cutter to cut them out. Then I'll dip the ears in chocolate, just like they sell at the parks! YUM!
Now here is where I need some input - I am at a loss for what else to put in the bags of the older boys. They are going to be 14 and 16 when we go, but they LOVE Disney just as much as I do; in fact, when I saw them both over the weekend, they both asked me if I was getting excited that we were about a month away from going. :goodvibes
So what would you suggest?? I was thinking I would peruse the Disney Outlet store to see if I could get them each a cheap t-shirt to stick in their bags. Or perhaps I will glance at the $5 - $10 movie stacks at Target and see if I can find one they like.
Any more thoughts? I am VERY open to suggestions! :thumbsup2 Thanks in advance!

Hi Katie!
Awesome loot on the cruise package! You got some really neat stuff!
On the gift bags for the boys.... you could always get a design on the boards and make them a very inexpensive shirt. You could even do a long sleeve T or a sweatshirt...
Just an idea.
Also, you go and have a good time, no matter what you weigh. I'm not happy with my weight either, but I'm taking some comfortable clothes and I'm going to have lots of fun!

Anita
Hi Anita!
Thanks for the shirt idea for the boys...you know, I had a DISer do a shirt for me, but I never thought about the boys - thanks for the idea!! :thumbsup2 Awesome!
And thank you as well for the encouragement; it WILL be so much fun and I know we are going to have a great time!! You are going to have so much fun as well - the countdown begins - yeah! :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

So before anyone asks me, I should probably explain my new tickers. :goodvibes
First, my goddaughter and I will be going on our girls-only, just her and me trip next fall. Our biggest fundraiser of the year for my job is that last weekend in September, and boy am I going to need a vacation after that. :rotfl:
Second, my boss and I are talking about walking the Princess 1/2 marathon together in March. So fingers crossed!! I think that would be SO COOL, plus it gives me a goal to work towards.
Have a great day, everyone!!

I think they'd like Mickey krispie treats, too, and you can't go wrong with candy/gum and maybe a gift card. My guys like a travel mug I got in WDW that says ESPN on it. Maybe something like that, or something from their favorite sports team? A shirt sounds good.
I'm fighting off a spring break trip for financial reasons, but when I look at your upcoming trips, the Disney Devil on my shoulder is saying 'See? You can do it!'
The Dave Ramsey on my other shoulder says I can't.
Both of them have me in constant turmoil.
I would like for them to both go away!

:rotfl: Thanks, Becky! I was thinking that what I might do is get them some playing cards - they like to play cards and that would keep them occupied on the plane, as well.

Hi Anita!
I'm so glad you got the Mickey mail - sweet! :woohoo: Glad you liked it! I thought those tattoos were pretty cute, too. :goodvibes
Well, my dates for October are not set in stone yet. I am actually kinda waiting to see if I will have interns this summer or not. Since the Triathlon is our biggest fundraising event of the year, and it's the last Sunday in September, I of course will wait until then to go. I am tossing around in my head whether to go that following weekend, or wait another week; we have a fair amount of "clean up" type things to do post-race, and I think I would feel rushed if I only had a week to get those things done before leaving town. However, if I have interns this summer, I'll have a lot more hands to do work and that would influence my decision about when to go.
So for right now, I am thinking my dates are October 9-16. I'll keep you all posted, for sure! :cool1:
I love all your new tickers, too. I wish I had three trips lined up in my queue! :rotfl:

Not one, but two new tickers in addition to the trip in December??! Soooo not fair to the rest of us, but if those trips end up happening I'm excited to hear all about them.
Oh and I forgot to reply before about the goodie bags, but I think that a t-shirt at the Disney Outlet for the boys is a good idea. Even though the movies would be nice too, if they don't have a DVD player to watch them on the plane with---it's not something they can really enjoy during the trip, KWIM? For two boys, maybe look into a deck of Disney playing cards? I'm not even sure such a thing exists, but it might keep them occupied on the plane with a game of Disney Solitaire or something.

:goodvibes Well, I still don't know if the 1/2 Marathon will end up working or not. My boss and her family have a condo near Orlando, so we wouldn't have the expense of a hotel, but it would be a lot of fun to go!! I was just excited since my boss told me they serve wine at that race - sign me up! :rotfl:

You know, the cards are a great idea. I did some poking around this weekend, and I really didn't see anything else I thought they would like. But they do have Disney playing cards!! I saw them at CVS this weekend. I am going to wait and get them though, since CVS always has sales and I'm sure I can get them for a bit cheaper (even though they weren't a bad price to begin with).

Maybe I'll see you there, if we end up doing the 1/2! My company has started a wellness program and is starting Triathlon and other athletic teams. So excited to read all about your trip when you are back and so jealous that you get to go for 9 days and I only get 7. I guess when you are going over actual Christmas though, 9 days is probably better so you don't feel so much pressure to fit everything into a shorter time.
I'm at the 3 week mark until our trip (doesn't it sound so much closer when you can refer to it as weeks? I think so.) I'm excited, but also getting super stressed. I still have to get through Thanksgiving, Christmas shop, decorate, buy a tree, decorate the tree, wrap, clean the house, finish buying trip stuff, pack....:faint: Seriously, thinking about everything I have to do in the next 3 weeks gives me a HUGE panic attack. I'm trying to remain mellow and just roll with the punches. :hippie: It isn't working!!

Oh my! You ARE busy!! But 3 weeks IS so exciting! Just think, less than a month from now you'll be relaxing in the happiest place on earth...
As far as Christmas is concerned - I am actually done shopping, but I start scary early, like Halloween time. I am nuts that way. :goodvibes But I am with you on the decorating - so far I have my Nativity set up, but it's just so pretty I like to have it up early. And I think I might put up my tiny tree, but that's it - I just can't justify putting up lots of decorations when we'll be gone for most of it. I guess that would be my suggestion to you; don't stress yourself out. What gets done gets done, and your house will look lovely!! :goodvibes

So we are now officially 26 days from leaving for Walt Disney World! :cool1: :cool1:
Last night, my aunt and I watched the very cool HGTV special about how they decorate WDW for the holiday season. It was VERY neat to see how they pull off all that decorating in such a short amount of time - and it got us really pumped to go down and see those decorations!!
This morning I made my last vacation purchase, then I am ready to go! Lands End had a free shipping offer, PLUS the pants I wanted were on sale. They are called their SunLife pants and they convert from long pants to capri or cropped pants. I thought they would be perfect since I'll have both shorter pants for the warmer days, and then I can make them longer when it gets cooler at night. Here is the pic below; I got 2 pairs, one in brown and one in khaki; it's kind of hard to tell here, but you can see the tabs on the pants, those are for making them capris.
http://i249.photobucket.com/albums/gg234/DWGal210/pants1.jpg
So now I am 100% done with trip shopping and ready to go!! CVS had some good deals this weekend on batteries and band-aids, so I got some of those to take with us. I just hate spending the $$$ to buy that kind of thing on property and so a little pre-planning goes a long way there. :wizard:
I'll keep in touch this next month, and then we are off to WDW for New Years!!! Now I just have to think of a name for my trip report....currently taking suggestions!! :rotfl:

I am getting a list together of the tasks I have at work before we leave. The list is small, so far, but I want to make sure I'm on the ball.
And it's snowing here!! Which makes me even more excited to go to sunny Florida! It snowed about 1/4" last night, but between now and Sunday, we're supposed to have another 4-5 inches and a winter storm advisory. Fun times!! :santa: Just making me that much more excited to go!

18 days and counting! Can I get a Woo-Hoo!?! :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:
So we are one step closer to vacation. And it couldn't come any sooner, believe me. Today, we're supposed to have a few inches of snow. But tonight into tomorrow, we're supposed to have blizzard conditions and a total snowfall of 15" - yep, that's right, you read that right - 15 inches of the fluffy white stuff.
SO needless to say, Orlando and its warmer temps couldn't come soon enough!! :rotfl:
So to pass the time between now and then, I looked at our table service ADRs and decided what I THINK I'll have to eat at those meals (and also so I can get an idea of my food budget). Comments from the peanut gallery are welcome and expected. :lmao:
* Raglan Road: The fish and chips - YUM!
* Sci-Fi diner: Since we are going there for dinner, they don't appear to have a burger for dinner - so I think I'll have the BLT soup and the mixed greens salad.
* Tusker House: One price breakfast buffet.
* Le Cellier: YUM!! I am SO EXCITED about this one!! We are also going here for lunch, and I think I have narrowed it down to the amazing Cheese soup I keep hearing about, and the Salmon BLT entree.
* Kona Cafe: Another one I am excited about. I have never been here before, and never had the Tonga Toast. :scared1: So that is the plan for this meal!
* Biergarten: Lunch buffet.
* Coral Reef: Also for lunch (do you notice a trend here of lunches? :thumbsup2 We're having as many lunches as possible, as opposed to dinner, to save some coin). I think I have decided on the Pesto Risotto (yummo!)
* OHana: Our FAV place to eat while at WDW. We're actually there for dinner.
Phew! I think that's it for ADRs. Of course, there will be the copious amount of burgers, fries and sandwiches for the fill-in meals. We're getting Garden Grocer to deliver food to the resort so we can have breakfast in our room each day, which will cut down on the expenses.
So I think that's it! Only 18 more days - I cannot wait!! :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

We get fifteen inches in about five years' time, so people don't drive so well in it here. We get one inch and it is unsafe to be on the roads.

Hi everyone!!
Just wanted to report in. I am at my parent's house, staying the night. Needless to say, I didn't get to work today. We got about 12-15" of snow in the last 24 hours. AND we had a blizzard warning. It was so bad, I couldn't even see the road right in front of my condo. I finally got out tonight, and then came to my parents so I may have a prayer of getting to work tomorrow. It's AWFUL!!!! (Being in the snow, not being at my parent's house :goodvibes)

Thank you! Yes, that is a comfort. And the way I look at it, at least the big snow is done and out of the way, and the roads have a few weeks to recover; so we should be good (fingers crossed!) for getting on that plane on the 26th.

So I will post my own pictures of my house in the winter wonderland, but in the meantime, here are some pictures from our local media:

YOWZA!
There was also a story here about a gal who was pregnant and went into premature labor. Her local hospital was too small and the baby was in danger, so they had to take her to Des Moines, our capital. The air ambulance wasn't going up, of course, and they had to get her there. They traveled about 50 miles with a caravan; the ambulance and 2 snowplows, to get her to the hospital. They were able to stop her labor and save the baby, but it was a pretty scary situation, I guess. :scared1:

I know!! Can you imagine?! You are already nervous enough that you're in premature labor, and add to that the biggest blizzard Iowa has seen in 15 years?! Scary! :scared1:

I wonder if that was the same snow storm that dumped on some parts of Kansas. We didn't have anything accumulate here, but, it sure is cold!
Hoping for some nice weather in Florida!

I'm just getting over here to your PTR but haven't read it all yet! :goodvibes I think it was MeMom who sent me over here....are you coming to the NYE DIS Meet at the Poly?
We are staying at AKV Kidani, arriving on the 26th around 7 pm!
We got hit with snow the past couple of days too, not sure on the total number of inches, but I would say about 4. The wind was WICKED yesterday though...! We are rejoicing that we'll be in Florida soon!!

Hey Anita! It might have been the same storm; on the radar the other day, it looked massive. I am also hoping for warmer weather....but heck, just about anything is warmer than 6 below zero! :scared1:

Hey there!! I have been reading your TRs and PTRs as well, so welcome! :flower3:
OMG....we are ALSO going to be at Kidani!!! We get in around 3:00pm and have reservations at Raglan Road that night; maybe we could get together for a cup of coffee or something at Kidani. :) I'll send you a PM.
And yes, I am planning on going to the fireworks. The only thing I am trying to figure out is the best way to get over there. That day, we switch over to SSR, so it might work best to walk to DTD, catch a bus to the Poly, and then on the way back, take a bus from the Poly to DTD and walk back to the resort. Trying to figure all that out. :rotfl:

So, as promised, here are some snow pictures. These are ones I took myself, around where I live.

This is the snow that blew on my deck (keep in mind I am on the 2nd floor)

This picture is out the front of my condo; there is a major street about an 1/8 mile from my front door and I couldn't see a thing.

This last picture is of the drift that was on my parent's front porch. They just got that taken care of yesterday.
So there you have it....winter in Iowa. Gotta love it. :rotfl: Just making me that much more ready to go!! T-minus 2 weeks from tomorrow, and I am off!!

Yeah, it was a lot, even for us. They said on the news it's the most snow we've had in about 15 years, and around here, that's saying a lot! :lmao:

12 days and counting!! Woo Hoo! :woohoo:
So yesterday, I had the best of intentions to do more trip prep....but I woke up with the worst migraine and basically slept in my dark house all day long. It was awful!! I only get them every so often; it's a side effect of a medicine I was on (that's still working its way out of my body) and they come every so often. I just hope I don't get any on vacation! :scared1:
So now I need some input; if you'll remember, I am making little gift bags/presents for my cousins and sister. I have all the stuff bought and sorted out; but now I don't know the best way to give them their items. My thoughts are (tell me which one you like the best):
Option #1: Go to their house on the 22nd or 23rd, while their mom is packing, and give them their gifts. Let them know they can put them in their carry-on so they can have some items for the plane.
Option #2: When I go to their house the morning of departure day, put the kid's gifts in their car so it's a surprise when they get in the car to go to the airport.
Option #3: Mail them to AKL Kidani and then have them there when we arrive.
So what do you think?! My gut says to do Option #2, so they can use the stuff on the plane ride.
Thoughts?

This one gets my vote. :)
I'm going with Option #2 as well. If they get them early they may forget them or take them apart and leave some things at home. If you mail them to Kidani they might get to wrapped up in all the other things going on to fully appreciate them.
Yup - #2 gets my vote. What a great departure surprise! :flower3:

Number 2 -- it will help add just a little bit more excitement and magic to their journey to see the Mouse. :thumbsup2

Well, so far, Option #2 is fully unanimous! :thumbsup2 So I think that's what I'll do; I'll sneak those bags in their car and when they get in to go down the road, they'll have their goodies.
Thanks for the input, everyone! :goodvibes

Just found this ptr and am loving it! Read the first and last 12 pages and scanned everything in between.
We will also be at WDW during this time. We'll be driving down----only a short(???) 12 hr. drive. Leaving home on Monday, 28th and heading home on Jan. 1. This trip primarily is to celebrate my DD's sweet 16th birthday.:cutie:
I'll be looking for updates until time to leave!

It was cute, wasn't it? Brooklynn calls it Preppa Landing. :)
Disneyshopping has Preppa Landing ornaments for $5.99. I thought about getting one for Jill's tree and one for mine, but I haven't yet. I'm trying not to spend any unnecessary money before trip time.
