We are looking at arriving around midnight and are considering flying into Tampa because my Sis can get a free flight there. If are too tired to drive in, and decide to motel 6 it that night what happens to our room package and free dinning? We will have paid for 4 nights but if we show up for only 3 nights, will our dinning credits be reduced or will we still get 4 nights worth of free dinning? Help! Just want to make sure I know before I agree to fly into Tampa!

I can't say what the time is by which you'd have to check in for it still to be considered the first night of your reservation. The latest (or earliest) I have checked in is 2 AM and that is considered still spending the night there. I think if you haven't checked in by a certain time they might assume you aren't coming and forfeit your reservation - although I have no idea what that time might be.

Well, I cant take the chance that my ressie could get cancelled, so I am on hold right now to ask WDW this question. OK here is the answer. WDW will hold your reservation until 7:00 am the next day. If we are delayed, I was advised to contact the front desk of the resort directly to let them know not to cancel our reservation and that we are enroute! Thanks to those of you that responsed!

We have a similar situation. We decided to change our ressie and decrease our number of days from 5 to 4. No sense in paying for a WDW resort hotel that first night when we won't even be staying there! We are going to priceline a hotel by the airport, then drive in and check in to the resort early. Granted we'll have one less free dining day, but with a car, we have offsite dining options too. And a full kitchen at our resort (Ft Wilderness cabins).
