This is the 1st time we will be on the Dining Plan. In the past, we have always done a grocery delivery from Garden Grocer for a case of water, milk, breakfast items & snacks? Did you ever do a grocery delivery while on the DP? Did you feel you needed to?

We didn't do grocery delivery but we did stop and get some food the first time we used DDP. We got breakfast items and snacks and drinks for the room. The snacks were wasted but we did use the breakfast items. We also used the drinks. I would just be careful about not getting too much so it won't go to waste.

yes, we always do both, grocery delivery and dining plan...
last year on the DxDDP we ordered water, powerade (my drug of choice!), diapers, wipes, baby food and little else...
this past trip on the Basic DDP we ordered water, powerade, diapers, wipes, baby food, milk, cereal cups, and a little junk food...
we tend to leave very little behind...

Ooo, cereal cups. My kids would love that. Thanks for the idea.

Yes, we had GG delivered the past 2 years with DDP. This year we will not bc I finally don't need diapers & wipes!!!! I can just pack some snacks. I will miss the bottled water, though. We might have to stop on the way to the hotel from the airport. We don't take Magical Express.

we always order cereal, few snacks, juice boxes, fruit, peanut butter and jelly, and bread. we like having some healthy snacks and drinks(apple and grape juice) around. we love having pb&j sandwiches for the kids-they don't always eat well; either to much going on at meals, or sometimes they just don't like the food. it's great having the oppurtunity to serve a quiet breakfast, or sandwich and fruit, in the privacy of our own room.again, don't get too much because there is alot of food with the ddp.:thumbsup2

I have done it both ways and I think it depends upon the time of year that you visit.
If we are going in the summer months then we always order water and additional beverages such as juice. I have mixed emotions about ordering snacks because we always have a bunch leftover.
The water alone is worth it.

We did a grocery delivery while on the dining plan.
Fruit, bagels, cream cheese, cereal, milk and water.
Anything more would of been a waste. You get so much food on the DDP.

Fruit, milk, cereal, water... that's about it. Anything beyond that and in the past we've wasted it, so we have pared down our list. :goodvibes

Is there anywhere that you can order a nice fresh fruit basket and have it delivered? I absolutely hate paying $1 for a banana in the food court. That may be the biggest rip-off at Disney. We took snacks and cereal. We didn't use the snacks but the cereal was great for a quick breakfast. We do the Basic DP.

I always order from garden grocer and the fruit just comes from the produce department of the grocery store along with everything else. I'm not sure about garden grocer but I know that "we go shop" will shop at any store you request. I'd guess that if one of the local stores sells fruit baskets, and they most probably do, you could order one as part of your grocery order right along with milk, water and anything else you might want.

So, piggy-backing on the original thread topic, would you recommend ordering water instead of using snack credits for water? Is it worth the delivery fee ($12.00 for Garden Grocer) for a case or two of water?
:confused3
We are on the DxDP and we're going at the end of June - hot, humid - you get the idea. Thanks!
