Ottawa area disers ??

hi there.. hoping there are some disers familiar with the ottawa area...
my neighbors are heading there in MAY for a small wedding ..
looking for recommendations.. budget wise also , where can they stay.(they are 2 families with teenagers .. hoping for an indoor pool !!)

maybe walking distance from rideau canal area.. or downtown area..
also is there dedicated parking if they want to shop at rideau centre ?? or is it just street parking ..??
any tips appreciated ! .. thanks !

The Rideau center has its own parking lot. I don't know what your budget is like or your dates, but you can try: http://www.les-suites.com/ottawa%2Dhotels/ They are within walking distance to the Canal and the Rideau Center and has an indoor pool.

Les Suites is very popular, as is The Lord Elgin http://www.lordelginhotel.ca/

There is also a Courtyard Marriott in the Byward Market. I know some business travelers like it there, as it's within walking distance to just about everything.

If they want something trendy and modern, a boutique hotel called The Arc is really nice; and they normally have package deals.

While The Chateau Laurier and The Westin are hot spots in downtown Ottawa, unless there are room rate promotions - they are both costly for what you get.

DH wanted me to point out - when booking, they should ask if parking is included in the rate or not...

Having worked at Les Suites, I would recommend it. The rooms are huge, great location and the newly renovated rooms are beautiful!!
