We are the Crew of the Black Pearl, castaways from a forbidden land (aka the budget board), who have many a tale to tell about our voyage to Tortuga . . . er. . . Walt Disney World! Our hearty crew includes me, the captain, CapnJacksGirl, (that is until my long lost love Captain Jack returns), parkers*momma, smacky1, MrsKreamer, WalkingInTheFog, and a few other scalliwags who don't seem to like to talk as much as we do but who may return to tell their tales as we get closer to our voyage.

We all set sail to WDW in late September, in search of adventure, treasure, and awesome photos! I will be bringing along my captive DH who claims to not be a huge Disney fan but sure seems to have an awfully good time when he gets there, and my two little scalliwags DS4 Declan and DS2 Reese. We made this same voyage last year and couldn't resist doing it again this year - on exactly the same week!!

We'll be staying at BWV Sept 19-26, enjoying the pool and the boardwalk, and hitting the parks for six days. We love, love, love character breakfasts, so we'll be enjoying early days with Donald at AK, Pooh and Tigger at MK, and Stitch at Poly. We didn't meet Stitch last time, so this will be great fun for my boys! We also didn't stay up late for fireworks last time, so we're planning our days to accommodate that as a priority.

I'm one excited pirate's wench and don't know how I will keep myself occupied until September. I'm a serious over-planner so I'll be doing all things Disney until then. A little nice weather here in Minnesota would be nice too!!

I'm sure smacky1, parkers*momma, MrsKreamer, and WalkingInTheFog will be along soon to tell you their pirate tales as well. We all love to talk about Disney, so check back often and see what we're up to!

AHOY and ARRRRRGH!! pirate:pirate:pirate:

Hi fellow Minnesotan Pirate lover!!! Looking forward to reading your trippie:)

We leave for a Pirate Room at CBR on Saturdaypirate::yay:

My DH is also a reluctant Disney traveller (and former race car driver!) so he is not going this trip-too bad for him! Missing all the adventure!

My PTR is in my siggie-it is short, but sweet!

Have so much fun planning!!!!:thumbsup2 You should check out this thread:

We have the Deluxe dining plan and I am still compiling a list of where we want to eat...

I'd love to see your list when you're finished! We had the regular DP last time and felt like we were eating all the time! I had to buy a bunch of snacks at the AKL gift shop before we left so we didn't leave food on the table, so to speak.

I was only going to get free dining at first but we want to do 2 dinner shows and at least 1 signature dinning. The only thing I was worried about was extra snacks but I can always get those for the last day/car ride home. We like to be able to just go and not worry about budgeting food, so this seems to work best for us. Plus, we love to eat!

This is what I have so far
Fri 9/18
T-rex(out of pocket)

Sat 9/19
Epcot day so
Breakfast at Coral Reef or Garden Grill
Lunch at Germany, Morocco, or China
nap/swim
Dinner at Germany, Morocco, or China(whatever we didn't do at lunch)

Sun 9/20
AK day
Breakfast at Donald's
Lunch at Pizzafari or Yak and Yeti(are they even on the plan?)
swim/nap
Dinner show(HDD or Luau)

Mon 9/21
DHS day
Breakfast at H&V
still undecided about whether to have lunch at Sci-Fi and Dinner at 50s and just wait in line for Fantasmic or do a quick lunch and early dinner at 50s Prime Time/Fan dinner package...
(Last time I did the Fantasmic Dinner package I thought it was unnecessary and we had to eat dinner at 3pm.)

Tues 9/22
Kurt's birthday/MK day
Breakfast at CP/CM/ or Ohana
Lunch at LTT or Pop
swim/nap
Early dinner at WCC
MNSSHP!!!

Wed 9/23
sleep in(somewhat ;) )
breakfast at Pop or Ak
Back to AK to finish anything we missed or
back to DHS to finish anything we missed(kid's choice!)

swim/nap
Dinner show(HDD or Luau-which ever we didn't do)

Thurs 9/24
Breakfast at Cape May or Garden Grill or Coral Reef
Epcot day

Dinner at WS/or maybe MK(California Grill maybe?)

Fri 9/25

Last day in parks
Breakfast at CM or Ohana
Finish anything else at MK
Lunch at LTT or Plaza
nap/swim
finish the day at Epcot(maybe?)
dinner at F&WF

Sat 9/26
sleep in(somewhat)
Breakfast at Pop
shopping at DTD(we have a rule no shopping until last day, unless it is something from the WS that we can't get at DTD)

Any thoughts? I know it seems like we are always eating, but that is what we like to do. :)

Avast ye scurvy wenches!

My crew is well seasoned and well rounded:
Pirate King (Queen): WalkingintheFog
1st Mate: WalkingintheFog
Ship's cook, Bosun: WalkingintheFog
.....a small ship, but a worthy ship methinks!
And like all good pirates and people that grow up in sight of the Ocean, I'm not a strong swimmer!

There's also the ship's mascot: Basil. A little "boy" that I rescued from the animal shelter 5 yrs ago. Near as I can figure, his family tree contains a beagle, a labrador retriever, a cheetah, a kangaroo, an anteater, a vacuum cleaner, and a couch potato. He can go from 0 kph to 100 kph in a flash, he can jump sideways up onto the table if there's a fly, and he can hoover his food. He's currently under the blanket on my bed. If I say W-A-L-K he'll be at the door before I finish the word (hmmm... food, bed, hyper... maybe he's a teenage boy...)

I'm also the Queen of Procrastination. But I do have my priorities, and one of those was getting my WDW Sept plans figured out so that at the 90day window I'd know where/when I'd be eating! Still fine tuning that!

My trip starts Sep 15 at 3:30 am in NL, which is really 2:00am in WDW. A few flights, a wing and a prayer, and I'll arrive at POP about 3:30 pm WDW time. With my luggage I'm hoping!
I'll be doing a split stay 8 nights at POP and 6 nights at YC (woo hoo! 40% off room rate pin code!). So on Sep 23 I move on up the resort ladder!
I fly out again midday on Sep 29 after 6 nights at YC (a wee bit concerned, as I just found out they will be undergoing renos starting Jul 2009 and likely stretching 5-6 months or more!)

Not doing free dining, as last year I calculated it didn't save me any money: still needed to buy salads/appetizers, and really would not have chosen dessert every meal.
This year I want to checkout 'Ohanas, BierGarten, Le Cellier, Brown Derby and I think I'd like to eat in the Castle. I ate breakfast in my room each day last year, and this year will have some extra food to do the occasional lunches and late supper as well.

I love good food and good food presentation. I love recipes! But I also recognize sometimes the atmosphere supercedes the food!

Any suggestions on which meal at Cinderella's Castle (my grandmother had a sister named Cinderella!) would be best for a solo female traveller (40+, but oh so young at heart!)

Last year I had such a blast at the waterparks, I was there 4 times! 3 solo days and 1 day with cousin & family. I plan to have 2-4 visits again this year.

I'm also interested in WDW's minigolf--played minigolf for 1st time ever last Sept (Pirate's Cove), and it was so much fun! Any comments on WDW's minigolf courses?

....
Eek! It's after midnight ! Shiver me timbers! I need to get up early to make cookies/treats to bring for a work meeting tomorrow! Time to set sail!

MrsKreamer
04-23-2009, 11:44 AM
Time willing I want to do a round of minigolf(we get a game for free). I have only played at Fantasia Gardens(by DHS), and it was so much fun. They have two courses: One side is Fantasia themed, they other is a miniature of one of WDW real golf courses, with water and sand traps!

The other mini-golf location is at Blizzard Beach(or rather outside of BB) and it has 2 courses as well. One side is a winter wonderland that fits in well with the BB theme. The other course is "Santa on vacation" type theme with Santa et al playing in the sand.

Good for you Walking to take solo trips. I keep threatning my DH that I am going to go solo and shipwreck him and the little pirates here.

Good Morning Everyone -

I am one of the pirates who dosn't talk much!:rotfl2::rotfl2:

We will be arriving on Sept 18th for 8 nights 9 days of fun and excitement. We will be staying at CBR. It will be DD Payton's 4 trip to WDW and she is only 4. It will be DS Breadon's first trip as he is only 3 months old. Other then that we don't have a whole lot of the details worked out yet. I'm sure we will soon though!

Arr Me Hearties! Looking forward to a swashbucklin' time in WDW this September!
Our crew includes myself, Lisa, my DH and our two kids. DD is 4 and our DS is 2. Our dates are 9/19-9/26 and we are staying our first night at BLT and the remaining nights at BCV. DH and I will be celebrating our 9th anniversary on the 23rd. We plan on doing 1/2 resort days and 1/2 park days including one night for MNSSHP....hopefully on the 22nd. We try to visit WDW once or twice a year and I never seem to stop disney planning. Once one trip is over, Im planning for the next! I just love it and so do our kids! I secretly hope that someday DD wants to get married in WDW, but dont tell DH! Here are our rough plans:
Saturday 9/19 arrival around noon. Spend time at the resort, swim, rest and have dinner at Chef Mickeys. Stay up to watch wishes from the hotel and get to bed for a busy Sunday.
Sunday 9/20 Arrive at AK for park opening. This is our kids first time in AK so Im not sure what they will be interested in. Im going to TRY REALLY HARD to let them pick the way we tour the park that way they can see the things they want and I wont be rushing them to the next attraction in order to get everything in! Hoping to get ressies for Donalds breakfast at 10:30. After breakfast spend a few more hours exploring and head to BCV to check in and take naps. Late afternoon we plan on walking to Epcot and having dinner at either the Coral Reef or the Garden Grill. Im a little hesitant with both of these restaurants because of some of the reviews Ive read on here. I also thought about doing the princess dinner.......I have until 6/21 to decide so if anyone has any recommendations let me know!
Monday 9/21 Resort Day
Tuesday 9/22 Resort day during the day and MNSSHP at night! We love this party. DH and I are going to dress up this year. We may be a pirate family but I will keep you posted on what we decide
Weds. 9/23 Resort day. This is our anniversary and I havent decided what to do to celebrate it yet. The best gift to me would be for our kids to sleep past 7am and to hang out together in our pj's in bed! BUT, they are usually up and full of energy by 6am so theres a good chance that wont happen. Again, any ideas for us to celebrate would be fun to hear. For now we are just planning a relaxing resort day and maybe heading to Poly to have late breakfast at Ohana and then tour the resort.
Thursday 9/24 Park Day. MK and one other. I will probably wait until we are there to decide this one. We will have to see what the kids want to do and what things we may have missed in the other parks
Friday 9/25 Last day to relax at the resort. We may go to FW to do the campfire and watch the electric water parade that night.
Sat 9/26. Flight leaves at noon.:sad2:

Once the park hours for Sept are released I will probably change our park days around. I like to leave things somewhat flexible so we can change resort and park days based on weather. I used to use the nice days for park days but now I prefer to use the nice days for the resort and the rainier days for the parks.

Ok, so enough rambling from me for now. Thanks for checking in everyone!

Wow we should plan on some sort of meet for the MNSSHP on the 22nd...Most of us are going that night!

I am starting to think of costumes. There are 4 of us. I am thinking the 4 Imagination movers. Seems simple, we would only need 4 blue jumpsuits, one of us would need a red ballcap, another needs a cowboy hat, another needs "wobble" goggles, and the 4th would need drumsticks.
Hmmm...

Or we could just be pirates...lol

Or we could just be pirates...lol

LOL! I feel like the pirates is an easy one because its comfy, and you could do shorts and short sleeves so it would be cool as well. I hope to come up with something more fun even if we dont end up in the same theme, but if I cant come up with anything better, theres always the pirates. We actually have the goofy and mickey pirate ears that we bought on our last trip.

This sounds like a party challenge! (no, not a pantry challenge... nor....:rotfl: (yeah, I read that thread! heehee!)

I never noticed the Goofy Pirate ears. But saw the Mickey Pirate Ears. Any other famous Pirate Ears? (Guess there wouldn't be a Donald.....)
That would be a neat slant on the pirate costume! Each one having the appropriate character shirt and/or pants (or shorts).

I went to MNNSHP last September, and am toying w/ the idea of going again (a cousin may or may not be joining me for part of my trip....so if she comes, it'll be up to her), but if so I'll definitely be dressing up! Going to have to start thinking it over.....At work last year I went as a convict. Even made jailcell bars (black shower rod covers and duct tape!). My pumpkin was one of the Beagle Boys (a la Scrooge McDuck)... that's the picture in my avatar!

Actually even tho' I'm saying to myself "no need to go this year, you went last year, you might be going in 2010 when you go with your sister(s)", I think I'm well aware that's a crock, and I'll be getting a ticket!

:)

I really thought it said panty challenge and I thought......hmmmm that is interesting!
We have said twice that we would save money and NOT do MNSSHP and both times we ended up going! Everytime I justify it by saying, you never know when we will be here during a MNSSHP again! I actually really like it, especially the boo to you parade! My absolute favorite parade ever. The haunted mansion float and the pirates float are my favorite. I also like seeing all of the villains out and about. Oh, and eating candy the whole time is pretty fun too.
I have only seen mickey and goofy pirate ears. The goofy ones are cute because he has hoop earings in his ears! We could probably make a set of the mickey one into minnie ones by making our own bow for the top and sewing it on (or in my case glueing or duct taping it on)
Last year my mother sewed my ds a peter pan costume that was great. Little shorts and a little shirt. DD was tinkerbell.

Here's a question for you all. Has anyone been to the cirque de soleil? Im wondering how long the show is. Im thinking this might be something we could do on our anniversary night if its only about an hour. Anymore than that and I think the kids would get restless. DH and I saw one in Las Vegas but I cant remember how long the show was.

Awwww! Kids are always cute, but when they're dressed in costumes, they're even cuter!

I went to the Cirque Show last Sept, and it was close to 1.5 hrs, and there was no break or intermission.... they did have a concession stands where you could buy snacks like popcorn, and drinks to bring in to the show. When the show ended, there was a massive rush for the bathrooms... lineup worthy of SpaceMountain! Eek!
Didn't go with Kids, but lots of Kids around. I don't recall noticing that any were getting restless or acting up in anyway, but I don't remember noticing that there were many in the age range of your 2 (but think I saw that topic discussed in another thread back in Jan or Feb)

I went to Cirque years ago, like in 2001...I got free tickets for doing something extra special for a guest, my mnger noticed and gave me two free tickets :) Anywho, the show was close to 2 hours(give or take 15 mins) but it was so worth it. They don't give you a chance to get restless.

Are any of you considering doing the new Pirate League for this trip? I'd love to have my DS4 do it and my usually-not-a-joiner DH said he'd do it too until he found out it would cost $100 for the two of them to do it! I'm having a little trouble digesting that number myself for something that will only last one day. I guess I'm looking for help in justifying the cost to DH so I can have them do it! Honestly, I'd like to have the whole family do it too, but I know I'll never convince him to spend $200!! Any ideas?

YES! We thought the same thing. My ds loves pirates, but with all the turmoil surrounding pirates in Somalia it seems wrong to have fun with it. Why couldnt they call them something different like "sea terrorist"?
My ds would very much enjoy this and if he was 4 I would really consider it. But, b/c he is only 2 and still VERY temperamental, I think we will wait. Let us know how it goes if you decide to do it. Where did you see the pricing?pirate:

From allears.net:

Calling all scoundrels, rogues and ne'er-do-wells - Captain Jack and the crew of the Black Pearl want YOU.

Starting in late June, the Pearl drops anchor in Adventureland at Magic Kingdom for The Pirate League, recruiting and training Walt Disney World guests of all ages in the scurrilous ways of buccaneers.

Each guest checking in at the plunder-filled pirate’s lair gets an official pirate name. Then it’s off to Muster Station for applications of beards and eye patches, scarves and scars, earrings and gold teeth – all done with the savvy skill of a veteran pirate who shares his own tales of sea-sailing adventures.

After the new buccaneers recite a sacred pirate oath, they are officially part of Captain Jack’s motley crew, leaving their old identities behind. Past a hidden portal and into the treasure room, the shipmates have their “pirate portrait” taken before being turned loose on an unsuspecting Adventureland – and no doubt feeling right at home at the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction.

Guests can chose from three daily pirate packages:

First Mate Package: Includes bandana; choice of facial effects – scars, tattoos, fake teeth, earring and eye patch; sword and sheath; pirate coin necklace; one 5x7 inch photo and personalized pirate oath - $49.95 plus tax

Empress Package: Includes bandana; shimmering makeup – face gem, tattoos, nail polish, earring and eye patch; sword and sheath; pirate coin necklace; one 5x7 inch photo and personalized pirate oath - $49.95 plus tax

Captains Package: Includes choice of costume/outfit from selection: choice of facial effects - scars, tattoos, fake teeth, earring and eye patch; sword and sheath; pirate coin necklace; three 5x7 inch photos and personalized pirate oath - $124.95 plus tax.

Newly donned swashbucklers can test their pirate prowess on the streets of Adventureland where they search for clues and discover treasures. And for mateys who need a little more training, learn the secrets for survival by the Captain himself during “Captain Jack Sparrow’s Pirate Tutorial.”

Boys, girls, and grownups ready for the pirate life can start the process by calling 407-WDW-CREW beginning May 11.

First to finish the sentence:
I can't wait for my trip to WDW in September and the thing I'm most looking forward to is skipping down Main Street with DD-SO MUCH FUN!

For those who didn't make it to the other thread, here is a short (short-I can't do anything short) version:

Crew on this trip:
Grumpy- DH- Dislikes Disney or maybe the bug is just a lil slow in biting him. He wasn't going to go this year, then he was, then he wasn't, then he was, then I bought his airline ticket, then he wasn't going so I took him off the ressie, now his is going once again so he is back on the ressie. Hahahaha I think the bug is nibbling

Deva DD (8)-can name every cartoon character or movies just by hearing the first few notes of the song. Cruella DeVil is her hero and she loves making Donald Duck mad.

Me-I live, breathe, and sleep Disney. I find hidden mickeys in the wierdest places (cat box, cereal, clouds)

Crew holding down the fort:
DS (16)-who thinks Disney is for kids and informed us he was going to stay home this year--ALONE---hahaha is he going to be upset when he finds out the day we leave we have a sitter coming to the house.

DS(21)-who LOVES disney as much as I do! Wants to quit his job and move back home September 14 just so he can go with us and then move backout the day we get back...I don't see that happening, his fiance' isn't a Disney fan---YET

DS(25)-married with 2 princess' and a prince. Would love to join us BUT the lil prince is only 3 weeks old. They are going to wait until he is older so he can enjoy it too.

DD(29)-Widow with 2 prince and a princess. Her Dh was killed 13 months ago and she isn't ready to take such a huge step yet. Someday we will get all 4 of them to WDW with us

DFurbaby(5)-Chester...he's identical to Lassie and definitely our baby. No kenneling him, we find him a babysitter who knows how sensitive he is. I swear he goes into depression when we leave so we have to spend weeks preparing him. Play-dates, overnighters, etc or he stops eating.

Our journey:
9/15 flying out of DTW, staying at POP, Chef Mickeys and an early night.
9/16 Horseback riding at FW, Typhoon Lagoon, Potopass session at Poly,
Spirit of Aloha, and watching Wishes at Tahati on the beach.
9/17 Cinderella Royal Table for breakfast and day at MK
9/18 Breakfast at LePeeps in Orlando and Universal for the day
9/19 Egmont Key and Shell Island to do the Dolphin thing, hunting shells,
picnic on the beach, snorkling, and swimming in the Gulf and
Illuminations at Pop Century
9/20 MK at rope drop
9/21 Hollywood Studios at rope drop and Hollywood & Vine Fantasmic dinner
9/22 Epcot-Visa Character meet and greet, kidscot, Akerhaus then over to MK
for MNSSHP
9/23 AK with Donalds Breakfast before rope drop, photopass session at GF
9/24 DTD with Hot Air Balloon ride-relaxing day or make-up day incase we
get rained out.
9/25 home-boooooooo

Attire for MNSSHP
Deva-One of the lady Ghost from the Haunted Mansion-Corletta
Grumpy-if he goes:rotfl:-goofy, he already has the hat and still now a huge
fan of WDW so getting him to wear the hat is an accomplishment.
Me- Deva still hasn't nailed it down, she keeps saying tinkerbelle and I keep
saying it's not going to happen!

OK...I have a question for everyone:
WHAT IS YOUR MOST MEMORIABLE MOMENT AT WDW?

OK...I have a question for everyone:
WHAT IS YOUR MOST MEMORIABLE MOMENT AT WDW?

My first trip to Disney was in 1978 (no comments about "I wasn't even born then!" Or I'll find you in Sep and take your Mickey Icecream Sandwich!). Christmas '77 our parents gave my twin sisters (1 yr older than me) and 14 yr old me suitcases....we were a wee bit disappointed because we thought the packages were a new stereo system (2 big speakers and a larger parcel for the turntable/tuner/etc)! But then they told us why we were getting the suitcases! Florida at Easter! Woo Hoo! I knew it meant sunshine, beaches, oranges, and a Disney theme carnival.
We were amazed at Disney and the consistant theming- never expected the magnitude. Our favourite rides included IASM and POTC, and the now defunct 20,000 Leagues.
It's 31 years later and I have a clear memory of having to go down a narrow set of sets, sitting in long rows on little round seats that folded down, and watching thru the porthole! It was early evening, and so magical to us, even tho' we were aware the water wasn't deep and the sub was moving on a track. I can still visualize being outside the ride looking over to the lagoon and seeing the tops of the Subs moving about!

Another one for my hearty crew:

I'm going to WDW in September and I'm most looking forward to eating (or drinking) ________________________.

Absolutely everything! Because as long as you keep walking, there's no calories in Disney! :rotfl:
I'm looking forward to the Mickey Icecream Sandwiches--because they mean I'm really in Disney!:)

My most memorable moment at WDW was my boys' first time meeting characters last September. The best one was Reese, who was 11 months old at the time, meeting Piglet. He looked at Piglet like he was seeing him for the first time in a long time. It wasn't a look of surprise, it was more like a reunion! They just stared at each other and Reese smiled, with their noses only a couple of inches away from each other for the longest time. I wish I had gotten more pictures, but it was hard to take photos through my teary eyes!!

As for the other question, I'm going to WDW in September and the thing I'm most looking forward to eating or drinking is the juice at Donald's Safari Breakfast. I swear that stuff is liquid crack!! I don't even want to know how much sugar is in it, but man, was that stuff goooooood! I drank about a gallon of it when we were ther last year and have been buying every strange juice combination I can find, hoping to be able to have it at home. (Actually, I'm probably better off if I don't find it!!)

I am most looking forward to taking my son Aiden. He is a bit special and I hope he likes WDW as much as me.

I am most looking forward to eating at California Grill and drinking Sangria at Hoop!

I am a few dollars closer to WDW...just made a large payment towards the trip.

WalkingintheFog

I've been doing that too, making payments on the trip! I know it's smarter to just leave $$ in my bank acct to accrue at least a little interest, but "I-want-to-be-there-now" part of me finds it more fulfilling to know that I'll have that much less to pay when I get there!

Avast! Where are ye weasley scroundrels? pirate:

I just purchased my MYW tickets from Undercover Tourist via Mousesavers.com's web link.... $289 taxes in for 10days w/ park hopper (have water park days left from last pass).
I figure the price may or may not go up by Sep, and if something happens (ie they get so cheap) that I don't use these this trip, I'll have them for the future.
That's 1 more expense dealt with! :woohoo:

Isn't great how having the tickets in your hand makes it seem so much closer to reality? I LOVE getting that package in the mail! I've got tickets budgeted for July, counting on the ticket increase in August like the past few years. Hope I'm right!

The worst (and probably only bad thing) about going in September is that I end up wishing my summer away - and trust me in Minnesota, we need to savor every single warm day we can get!!

I'm excited and nervous about the ADRs too. We're not booking a ton of them, but I do want a few of the biggies, so like you, I'll be on the phone before the lines open up on my day (which I think is June 22 if I remember correctly - don't worry I have it on every calendar I have!).

I hope everyone's planning is going well! Happy Memorial Day!!

Hey everyone! Its been a while since Ive checked in. I was hoping to see September hours released soon so I could narrow down our ADR. The only one Im sure of is Chef Mickey's on our arrival day. All the others will depend on park hours and parade times. I was hoping to get everyones help. I mentioned before that DH and I are celebrating our 9th anniversary on 9/23 which is a Weds. I was trying to think of something to do to celebrate it. We are not going to be in the parks that day (as of now) as we are planning on going to MNSSHP the night before so we've reserved that day as a resort/relax day. I was thinking we would eat out at one of the many restaurants between BCV/BWV/Swan/Dolphin, share a kitchen sink ice cream sundae at the Beach Club and then catch the fireworks in Epcot at the bridge between the Boardwalk and BCV. Of course, we do have a rental car, so if anyone has any suggestions outside the world that would be an option for us too. We've never been to the Universal area and I thought maybe we could check out the City Walk and have dinner there. If anyone has done anything outside the world that you think would be fun for an evening let me know.
How is everyone else doing with the ADR planning. Our dates are coming right up to get those ressies in! Good luck everyone!

Time to get to arranging what I might want.
And in less than 2 weeks, I'll be learning how much of what I want I can't have!

:cutie:

EDITTED to add:
Looks like that's in progress: you can see some hours, and know which days some have EMH, but not the actuall hours.
THe TA site that Smacky1 posted seems the better option at this point! Hope that is going to be pretty accurate!

OK, mine are now set in stone.

Here is what I have for our upcoming vacation:

9/15---just checking in, checking out POP Century since we have never stayed here before then taking a bus over to MK then the monorail over to the Contemporary for Chef Mickey at 8:30pm.

9/16--- The morning is horseback riding at Fort Wilderness, then Typhoon Lagoon till 4, and a private Photopass shoot at 6:00PM (hopefully). After the Photoshoot, we have a ressie at Ohana at 6:30 but I might be sharing this ressie with a new friend from this Photopass shoot. I'm being mean and making her jump through hoops for it. :lmao::lmao: (J/K-it's hers for the taking). I've decided it was pushing it with a 6:00pm photoshoot, 6:30pm Ohana, and being on the Tahiti beach in time for a hammock to watch wishes. SOOOO, we are going to grab a C/S, do a relaxed picnic on the beach, grab a hammock and watch Wishes on the beach and maybe meeting a new friend from Disboards.:rotfl:

9/17---DD Birthday! A day at MK with a 6pm ressie at Crystal Palace, birthday cake, then off to grab a spot for Spectromagic and Wishes.

9/18---A day at Epcot but first breakfast at yummy Boma at 8:00am. We'll probably grab a taxi to AKL unless you think we can make it by bus on time. A day at Epcot with Coral Reef at 5:00pm

9/19---Cape May at 9:00am, picking up a rental car and heading to Shell Island for the day. Then back to Disney with a 5:30 Ohana Ressie and the evening at DTD.

9/20---A day at Hollywood Studios. Lunch is at Sci-Fi at 11:00am. We also scored a Fantasmic Dinner Package at 4pm at Momma Melrose.

9/21---Donald's Safari Breakfast at Tusker House at 8am (DD LOVES their breakfast), Tusker house at 1:15 for the Nemo Lunch special, Private Photo shoot at Grand Floridian at 7:00pm, and then Narcoossee at 8:00pm.

9/22---Blizzard Beach until 3, then it's off to MNSSHP with a Liberty tree ressie at 6:00pm.

9/23---CRT for breakfast at....drumroll...8:00am! HOW COOL IS THAT! We have been to Disney 13 times and have never been able to walk down main street before the park opens. We were really excited about this ressie. For dinner, we are heading to LeCelliers at Epcot at 6:00pm.

9/24---1900 Parkfare at 9am and sadly leaving Disney for another year around Noonish.

There are other restaurants I wanted to try but I was Vetoed on them. So next year, hopefully, I'll get to try them. :)

Hope you all had a great weekend!

I spent the weekend at my parents' cabin preparing the flower gardens, thereby saving my Dad from the wrath of a hundred thousand mosquitos!

Nothing is ever carved in stone....
More like written in sand on the beach!

Still to finalize plans, but important ones are:

Sep 16: Supper at 'Ohana, courtesy of the gracious Parkersmomma! Woo Hoo! and Wishes on the beach after

Sep 19: Lunch at Brown Derby

Sep 21: 8am Brekkie at Cinderella's Royal Table
. . . . . . .late lunch at Le Cellier

When my 2nd window opens on Thurs Jun 25, I'll make a late lunch reservation at Biergarten for Sep 25, and a brekkie reservation for Sep 27 at 1900 Parkfare (thinking those may be easy enough to get , I may be a party of 1 at that point --cousin may only be joining me for week one).

Also planning on MNSSHP for the 15th (alt rain date Sep 22) and KTTK tour in the morning on the 18th.

Woo hoo! Time keeps getting closer!.... eeps! and time to leave for work!

It sounds like you guys are getting things squared away! I overslept on my ADR day and didn't get on the phone until 6:15 - BIG mistake. I was on hold for almost an hour. Fortunately, I didn't need many ADRs since we're foregoing the DDP this time and staying less tied to times and reservations.

My only disappointment was Donald's Breakfast on our AK day, 9/20. I wanted 8 am but it wasn't available. He offered me 9:10 as the earliest, but I figured we were better off hitting rope drop, riding Safari, and coming back to Donald's at 10 a.m.

We're doing CP at 8:15 a.m. on 9/21 for our first MK day, Teppan Edo at 6:10 on 9/22, and Ohana at 10 a.m. on 9/25. Our only other "for sure" meal is at Big River Grille, which I was informed doesn't take ADRs, the dirty rats. My DH loves, loves, loves blackened mahi, so I am making sure he gets it at least one time by going to BRG. We're staying at BWV, so it's not like it's a big sacrifice!

I hope everyone else had great success with their ADRs!!

I just saw the room rate discount codes, 35% off, and decided to switch part 1 of my stay from POP to POR!
:banana:woo hoo! I'm so excited!
My cousin just confirmed via a Facebook Wall post that she would be joining me in Sep--I know she'll arrive ~11pm same day I arrive (I arrive about 1pm)
(:confused3Granted, I have no idea if she's just coming for 1st part of trip (8 days at POP), or if for 1st and 2nd part (part 2 is 6 days at Yacht Club):confused3
She has such a hectic life, I usually let her contact me on her own time.)

BUT! when I saw the codes, I thought, gee, she really enjoys DTD, and I do hope to go there several times, and I had also decided I'd be taking the boat from DTD to POFQ for Beignets, and also to scope out the Treehouses!

And then I thought, hmm, and POR or POFQ the room is bigger, and there's the modesty curtain in place for the washbasins.... and they have sheltered bus stops..and maybe a bit less noisy than POP might be...and a fridge in place in the room.. and the grounds are so pleasant...

And I really enjoyed my stay at POR last year. So I switched from POP to POR! Woo Hoo!:woohoo:

I wonder, when will I tell her that? At the very latest it would be the day before we leave Canada.
yaay! ... but I'm not the least bit excited. No, not at all...:rolleyes1

As for me, DH and I just bought a Harley and have been taking rides whenever grandma can watch the boys. We've gotten two overnight rides in along the St Croix River in Wisconsin. Gorgeous!

What are you doing to pass the time? Let's see...beyond working and trying to help my 67 yo father adjust to being a new parent-again-(he just recieved guardianship of twin 5 yo and a 7 yo)...I've been spending my summer teaching our DD everything there is to know about horses. She has had a passion for horses since the day she born and recently a kind old grandfather figure gave her a pony to ride anytime she wants at his farm. So every night we spend 2 hours there while she learns grooming, riding, and every other aspect of caring for a pony. At least I have a head start on getting my legs in shape for Disney....walking all over the pasture leading a pony around!:rotfl:

What's the funnest thing you've got going this summer??? Hmmmmmm....funniest thing?---Man that is depressing, I don't have a funniest thing unless it would be grooming my dog while trying to save money. Do you know how much hair a collie has? Did you realize that a collie is a very prideful animal? I mean seriously...He was soooo hot so I decided to shave him. I had more hair on me than he had on him when I finished. And the poor thing hides behind the couch most of the time, when it is time to go out..I swear....he peeks out the door to see if anyone is outside and if there is, he won't go out. He would rather potty on the floor and get in trouble than to let the neighbors poodle see him looking like this! But hey...I'm saving $85.00 a month, he really looks cute cut as a lion, and he is a lot cooler...he never leaves the air-conditioned house!

Hi Everyone! I havent posted in a while. We are really getting excited now that our trip is only 2 months away! This summer we've been pretty busy. I started out training for my first marathon that I was going to run in the fall, but Ive recently been sidelined with shin splints and have to drop out of my training until they heal:headache: Im hoping to at least run the 1/2 marathon that takes place at the same time, but I want to let my legs get better first as I dont want this to become a chronic problem.

We did the private photo shoot last year at the BCV and the photos came out great. Our DS was not quite 2 yet so he would only stand for a few pictures, but the ones we got were nice. There were a few people in on our last photo share who did the photo shoot as well and they had so many nice pictures. Im thinking of doing it again and hoping my ds will tolerate a few more pictures. I think the price was worth it.
I hope you all are having a nice summer!

ONE month TWO weeks!
That's what my ticker says! Yours too Parkers*Momma!:thumbsup2

I don't know where the summer has gone, but it means my vacation and WDW are that much closer!:thumbsup2

Planning has come to a grinding halt. My 2 wk Solo plan was made, and then cousin announced she'd be joining me, arrival 10 hrs later same day. Her departure date still unknown! Most likely Tues Sep 22, but who knows!:confused3

Today she finishes conference that she was so busy planning for, and guess there'll be paperwork to finish up, and then hopefully she'll be able to focus on ME! (hee hee!). I have no problems at all with rearranging my plans, just want (not a real need, just a slightly OCD need!) to know how I need to change things (does she want to have brekkie at Cindy's Castle or not?).

I figure the time I've spent on planning and arranging my trip was almost (well, not quite) enjoyable as the trip, so it still had value to me (sigh.. that's been the funnest thing going this summer).

If she's interested in doing MNSSHP, then we'll do that on 18th. If not, that night is Fantasia, and I'll have 15th or 22nd that I'll do MNSSHP on--I'll keep an eye on the weather to decide the date.
Several ideas for costumes, I'll prob get that pulled together soon.

And yes. I have put a few things in the suitcases already (woo hoo, Air Canada--no luggage charge!)

We actually did this for the first time this year. Writing that check felt GREAT! I bought our tickets shortly after they became available. DD loves MNSSHP so much that it is the normal.

For those who are going to MNSSHP, at dark they have a really neat PP at Haunted mansion. You get your pic taken in front of the hearst and in the past, they have added a ghost driver or a ghost horse with the mansion in the back. Really neat!

lol...in 2006 (I think it was '06) we had MNSSHP tickets and that is the night hurricane Wilma blew in! We no more than arrived to MK at 5 pm and the downpour came. We decided to heck with trying to do MNSSHP in a hurricane and went back to the resort. You wouldn't believe how many ppl were still going into MK. When we got back to the resort, I went to the front desk and explained to them that we (totally northerners here) were not comfortable going to MNSSHP during the hurricane. It was our first experince with hurricanes and asked them how long it would last (honestly, I didn't have a clue) and if it was possible to go later than night. They were awesome! They gave us tickets to another night. Who would have thought!! I was totally shocked with that gesture of magic!

Now we are staying at All Star Movies, Luckley was still able to get the free dining by changing, but still kinda of a downer. :confused3:confused3

Ohhh if you have lil ones, they will LOVE All Star Movies. We have stayed there for the past 4 years. We've always stayed at the Dalmatian section, court side. We loved waking up and looking out our window at Pongo and the puppies. This year is our first at POP.

I know it isn't CB but Movies does have alot to offer. I'm hoping Pop is as mogical for us as Movies has been. :)

My DH and I were working at WDW during that!

WOW...really!?! I have never seen so much rain! We were drenched just walking from the bus stop at AS Movies to the building. I can't believe how many ppl were actually going into MK in the midst of all that rain!

Funny thing, that was our first hurricane and now we feel like pros. Only time I worry about them is if they are going to get in my way of arriving at WDW. Heck, a hurricane can shut me in WDW all it wants. I won't mind extending our vacation.:rotfl:

Thats so great! AND, the reason I just love disney. We went one year in the rain and all the parades were postponed. We did stick it out and were able to watch the evening parade though. The boo to you parade is my favorite! We listen to the music from it all the time! BOO TO YOU AND A HAPPY HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

I totally agree I love the song and LOVE the smell of the candy when Goofy goes by!!

we are getting excited too! Tonight we tried to pick out our halloween costumes. So many choices of what to be! We are trying to convince the kids to pick things that we can wear in the heat! DS wants to wear his buzz costume which would be way too hot for disney in Sept. He can wait and wear it here for Halloween.

Woo Hoo!
Yes, I'm dancing! It feels like I've spent half my summer waiting for Sep 15!
Just got the 1wk replanned with cousin! Woo Hoo! She wants to go to MNNSHP (not in costume, but perhaps in Hallowe'en tshirt!)

She flies out of Bangor Maine mid afternoon, and doesn't arrive til 11pm-ish, so I'll prob check out various resorts or DTD for the afternoon evening.
Are POR's quiet pools open 24 hr?

On Sep 16 Wed. we hit Epcot until 5 or so, and then on to 'Ohana (Thanks Maddie!) for supper and Fireworks from the beach after.

On Sep 17 Thur, it will be Animal Kingdom (9-5), and CS lunch at Flame Tree BBQ. After that, we'll either hop to MK or check AKL/buffet supper at BOMA (been there already) OR DTD OR WDW minigolf (open til 11).......
.........MK Spectro & MK fireworks 8 &9pm & Epcot Illuminations 9pm may affect where we hop to.

On Sep 18 Fri either Typhoon Lagoon OR AK til about 2pm (may head to back to POR to clean up or nap) AND THEN! MNSSHP shortly after 4pm

On Sep 19 Sat we'll pick up a rent-a-car, and after a morning swim, will go offsite for brekkie buffet, shopping, and supper offsite. maybe Pirates minigolf or WDW minigolf(if not done on Thurs or wanting to do again)

On Sept 20 Sun cousin will attend church services. I might go to Blizzard Beach, or even see if she'll drop me off at IKEA. We'll spend the rest of the day exploring POR/POFQ or strolling DTD. Rent-a-car goes back tonight or Mon AM.

On Sept 21 Mon, we'll grace DHS with our presence:laughing:, and have lunch at Brown Derby. This is her last full day, so we'll prob hop to Epcot or MK and/or hop back to DHS (PM EMH means DHS open til 10pm). Again, MK Spectro & MK fireworks 8 &9pm & Epcot Illuminations 9pm may affect where we hop to.

On Sept 22 Tue Cousin wil take ME to airport around 10:30, so possibly we'll have 1-2-3 hours to explore Resort, swim, etc.

Next I'll re-plan out my 2nd week and see about rescheduling brekkie in the castle for that week, and Le Cellier lunch as well (she's like me: I didn't see the point in going there as much of the menu are things I prepare anyway! But I want to try a few things that are hyped!)

Here are the ADR's I'll be cancelling or passing on:
Sep 19 SAT:
.......DHS Brown Derby for 2 at 12:30
........'Ohana for 2 at 6:30 (other than 9 that was the ONLY opening I found. Kept it til now just in case cousin wouldn't be able to make the Wed one)
Sep 21 Mon
........Le Cellier for 2 at 2pm.
....The breakfast at CRT is for Sep 21 Mon, for 1 at 8am, but as that's paid on credit card, I think I need to just see if they can resched for me as opposed to trading it, or giving it away. I did book 1900 Park Fare for Sun Sep 27 brekkie, but may scrap that instead....I'd like to experience dining in the castle!

Woo Hoo! NOW IT IS NO LONGER TO EARLY TO START PACKING!!!!!!:cheer2:

Reading your post makes me more excited! We are trying to figure out which ADR's we want to keep and which we want to cancel. I was really hoping for Chef Mickeys on our arrival night 9/19 because we are staying at Bay Lake Towers for one night. I was able to get a 7:50 but wanted something ealier than 7 so we could have dinner and be out in time to watch Wishes at 9 from the hotel. I still have the 7:50 and will keep it in hopes I can make it all work out. If not, I have a ressie at 5:30 later in the week. I also cant decide if I want to do Donalds Breakfast in AK or just do counter service. DD loves characters so it would be nice to have a meal and see them rather than wait in lines to see them so I think Im keeping that one. I have princess storybook dining I may cancel for later that night. 2 Character meals in one day? Not sure if that would eat in too much to our park touring plans.
Can anyone give me an idea of about how long a dinner at Chef Mickeys would take?

The time is drawing nearer! And I seem to have very little time to obsess about it!

I did find somewhere some reference to the MNSSHP that gave the photopass locations for that year.
Perhaps they'll be the same this year:

Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party
○ Exposition Hall Character Meet
○ Pirates of the Caribbean
○ Adventureland Character Meet
○ Hearse outside the Haunted Mansion. *Special effects pose with hearse ghost driver.
○ Hub in front of Cinderella's Castle
○ Pathway from Castle to Tomorrowland
○ Cinderella's Coach in Tomorrowland
○ Entrance to Mickey's Toontown Fair

Our current plan is to attend on Sept 18, depending on the weather.

Less than 2 weeks now!

The suitcase is officially out and open!

Tried to get ressies for Wishes dessert party, but that baby sold out fast!
There were only 2 dates that we were able to consider it (21 and 17 Sep), but I checked all the dates during my stay--both on line and w/ an agent...only the 20th, Sunday was avail- we weren't!
Well, the hips & butt didn't need it anyway!

I see Parker's*Momma is going, anyone else sign up for it?

I am so excited I can hardly stand it! My DSs and I have a countdown on the chalkboard at home that we change every morning. Today was 17 days til we leave!

Three weeks from right now, I'll likely be in Fantasyland riding Dumbo or Peter Pan, soon heading to Tomorrowland for Buzz Lightyear and the Speedway. I will, of course, also be stuffed because we will have had breakfast at CP before opening.

I love, love, love those pre-park opening ADRs! I'm still trying to get my treasured 8:00 ADR for Donald's breakfast at AK. So far, no luck; we'll be eating breakfast in the room. Either way, it will be awesome. I've never done a RD ceremony, so that'll be our first, followed by the sprint to the safari!

I'll be sending everyone an email this week with reminders and helpful hints, so watch out for it! Enjoy your countdown!!

What's your best tip for our crew as we head to WDW?

It could be something to help out at the parks, at the resorts, something to save money, something yummy to eat, whatever!

Mine? Take a power strip with you to keep in your room at the resort. When you come back from the parks, plug in your cell phones, cameras, etc all in one place. No more searching all over the room to gather things from various outlets. It was a godsend for us last year!

My second favorite tip? Get one of the cheapo over-the-door shoe organizers from a dollar store and keep it on or near the door of your room. Use it for wallets, cameras, kids shoes, any little thing you want to grab when you head out the door. Again, stops the searching for all those little things that get scattered everywhere and that you need every time you leave the room. Saves tons of time and frustration!!

Hey Everyone!!! WOW! We are getting so close. My SIL is in Disney right now. I spoke with her today and they were having a fun resort day. They were heading to the Boardwalk to get some goodies from the bakery. It made me so excited to talk with her.
So I think we have our plans finally set in stone.
Sat. arrive and check in BLT for one night. Dinner at Chef Mickeys
Sun check out of BLT early and head for AK for the day. Late breakfast at the Tusker House. Leave in the afternoon and check into BCV. Epcot that evening for Princess Storybook Dinner.
Mon. Resort Day. Stormalong bay here we come!
Tues. Resort Day in the am and MNSSHP in the evening
Weds. Our 9 year anniversary! Ohana's for Breakfast, resort time, Boma for dinner. We want to spend the evening after dinner checking out AKV for a possible stay next year.
Thurs. Resort Day, Campfire at Wilderness in the pm or DTD
Friday Magic Kingdom and Epcot for the first night of FWF
Saturday Head home :( This will be sad, but I just booked us a trip on DCL with the kids cruise free offer for Feb. so at least I will have something to look forward to!!!!!

Best Tip:
Take a picture of your name, address, phone number incase you lose your camera. Hopefully whoever finds it will turn it over to WDW and they look to see if there is identification. :). I also take pictures of our Keys to the World, MNSSHP tickets, and photopass cards incase I lose them. :)

Best Kept Secret:
If a CM asks you if this is your first time to WDW, always answer yes! It can bring many surprises such as certificates, in parades, etc.. I learned this last year though I haven't got to try it out yet. A CM friend said when they ask ask guests, if the guest answers yes, they are suppose to make the trip memoriable.

Best Food:
Hard one! DD loves the Churros, Dh Loves the Dole Whips and me...anything I don't have to cook!

Our Plans have changed and grown since I first posted. I tweaked and tweaks until I can't tweak anymore!

9/15 Arriving late (come on Airtran cancel our flight so we can get out earlier!) Dining at Chef Mickeys :)

9/16 Cape May Cafe at 8:30, then horseback riding. Off to typhoon Lagoon until 4:00ish. I splurged and book Cat. 1 at Spirit of Aloha then off for a mimi meet with a new friend to watch Wishes on the beach.

9/17 MK for Rope drop, hitting haunted mansion with Liberty Tree Tavern for DD birthday---the Big NINE! Then watching Wishes and Spectro.

9/18 Boma for breakfast at 8:20--wahoo then off to Epcot to check out the lands for DD. She is studying several of them this year and wants to see the CMs in attire. Can't forget our Disney Visa Character meet and greet! Lastly a YUMMY meal at LeCelliers....my mouth is watering already!

9/19 Poly Photoshoot at 8:30AM, picking up our car and heading to the beach to collect shells. Then coming back to WDW for an Ohana dinner at 5:30. Probably do the Tahiti Beach for Wishes again. :)

9/20 HS for the day with Sci-Fi at noon. DD just LOVES this place! But what her and DH doesn't know, I booked us the pirate and pal firework cruise at 6:00 that night. I can't wait to share that with them once we get to the Contemp!

9/21 Opening Ak with a Donald breakfast at 8:00AM. Attending our first Jammin' Jungle Parade and riding EE for the first time. DD is FINALLY tall enough! Then Popping over to Grand Floridian for a photosession and off to Narcoossee's for a 7:35 dinner. Hoping to get by a window so we can watch Wishes from the restaurant.

9/22 SLEEPING IN! Then off to DTD for shopping, creating our own snacks, doing a pearl (tradition) and taking our first Hot Air Balloon ride! A 4:00pm dinner with the evil sisters at 1900 Parkfare then off to MNSSHP until they throw us out of MK!

9/23--A FIRST! We have 8:00AM ressies with Cinderella in the Castle. We have never been able to score this before the park opens and we finally did! Hitting our favorite rides, mid day lunch at CP with pooh and the gang, and attending the Wishes Desset Party. Look out strawberries here I come! After Wishes, we are meeting a few Dis friends by the Pop Pool (from my stroller swaps)

9/24--1900 Parkfare for a 9:00am breakfast and hoping for either a hurricane or AirTran cancels our outgoing flight and we get "stuck" at WDW another day. If not, we will be leaving our Pop home and heading to Ohio at Noon.

A wee tweak to Parkers*Momma's tip:
My camera has a default setting whereby whenever it's turned on, a screen shot showing the camera make displays for a couple seconds. It can be a nuisance if you want to turn the camera on for a quick shot of something.
But the beauty is you can replace their shot with one of your own pics.

I took a pic of card saying "this camera and memory card belong to ***LAST NAME***"
and below it wrote my cell # and gmail address.
So IF I lose the camera, and someone turns it on, that's the first thing they will see!.
I did also use my handy dandy label maker and put label on camera, battery, memory card w/ gmail addr (must replace that w/ cell # now that I know I'll be taking it), and will put same on the photopass card & KTTK etc (and also take photo of photopass card etc.!)

My best WDW tip? EAT MICKEY MOUSE ICECREAM SANDWICHES FOR LUNCH!

Parkers*Momma: question re ADR swap..... do I need the last name for the ressie, or will they be okay with just the conf #?

Thanks again!

We're getting so close to our trips now that I can almost smell the Main Street Bakery! Can you? Close your eyes and think . . . fresh baked cookies, cinnamon rolls . . . there it is . . . it's coming . . . aaaah!! Now open your eyes :3dglasses. . . the balloon vendors are up on the corner and then, there they are! Our handy-dandy friends, the PhotoPass Photographers!!! Now, it's just you, your family, and the castle we all love so much!!

My challenge to you? Wear those photographers out!!! ::yes:: Why have two options of your much-desired castle photo? If there's not 18 families behind you waiting to do the same thing, ask them to take several different shots and poses. If there are tons of families around, move on to another photographer and start over! I know I would rather have a few good ones to choose from than to have to decide which is the least yucky! Keep in mind too that these photographers are not professionals. One may be better than the other. I had three different photographers near the castle take photos of us last year and I was so glad that I did! I didn't do that at EPCoT and I don't have any photos in front of SE because of it! The photog was new and lost everything she took! That's a mistake I won't repeat again, I assure you!!

The first member of our crew to head to WDW is disneyfan551 and family who get there on Friday (the lucky ducks!). parkers*momma and WalkingInTheFog are hot on their heels though, arriving next Tuesday. The rest of us topple like dominoes after that. I'm so excited to start packing I can hardly stand it! I wish I had enough clothes to pack now, but I'd be stuck with one pair of grungy shorts and a couple of t-shirts that I wore when I painted the bedroom to wear for a week and a half! Maybe that's not so bad . . . :yay::yay::yay:

Woo Hoo!

It's hot. Really hot. and humid!

Here at POR. Just hooked up internet for the next 24 hrs to check in on emails/facebook/skype/disboards/hurricane tracking!

Parkers*Momma,
Sorry we missed you on Wed at the Poly beach! We were at Ohana's, and had not even had dessert at the point the fireworks started!
--it was a great window table, and a heckuva lot of meat! Loved the potstickers, steak, shrimp, wings, noodles, salad, BREAD!, and the bread pudding.
The turkey and pork was a bit too dry- I prob should have tried from a diff skewer, but there was more than enough food anyway!.

We were also at Universal on Sat (shopping for me today Sunday!)

DHS tomorrow! Look for 2 "girls" of a bit above average size (truly, just a bit, not more) who are yakking and laughing at each other- I'll be the one wearing the black disney fanny pack (they call them belly bags now!)

Oops! Cuz is ready to walk out the door!

That's ok :)

The fireworks were wonderful on the beach. We snagged a couple hammocks and truly enjoyed the show.

I did get to meet MrsKramer and Mrkramer. Their lil boys are so cute!! I met MrsKramer and her oldest one night just outside our room. A couple days later, I meet Mrkramer and the baby (who was snoozing soundly) near the pool. I just wish we would have spent more time together but it seemed as though we were both going the opposite direction each time. :)

Hey everyone! Im not sure if everyone is back, but I hope you all had great trips! We had a fantastic time! Our best disney trip yet. We have been going in September for a while and we love the heat and low crowds. It does seem to get busier and busier every year though. The 9/22 Halloween party seemed much busier to me than the one I went to last year, although, we never waited for any rides. The character lines were pretty long, especially snow white!:scared1: Did anyone notice the sea witch from Ariel missing from the parade? DH didnt remember seeing that float, but its possible we were talking and missed it. I love the Haunted Mansion float.
We have decided to go back next September so the new count down is on!!
I was looking through our photos and wanted to know where the pictures of pooh, eeyore, and tigger (or maybe it was pooh piglet and tigger?) were taken? It looks like somewhere in Epcot but Ive never seen them. DD would love to get her pic with all 3 at once. Thanks to everyone for doing the photopass share. Its actually neat to see all the things we missed. No one would believe with as many times as we go that we miss things, but we do! Theres just so much to do and see. I love all the special photos with the cartoon characters. So fun!

HEY! We booked the bounceback for next September too! Right now it is 9/8to 9/22 but I think I am going to change it to 9/10-20 as the school is starting to get a lil snippy about DD missing school this year. I can only image how bad it will be next year. :(

Anywho, when are you going next year. I know photopass shares aren't allowed on Disboards anymore but I think I am going to just go ahead and order it in Jan. or Feb. and offer it to share it with a few DIS'ers.

Anyone from this swap who happens to be going next Spetember on the bounceback...and would like to be share mine....let me know and I'll put your names in my 2010 Vacation folder before I say anything on the boards in Feb :)

We are still debating our dates as well. Its DD first year in Kindergarten so although she wont be missing anything important, Im not sure if having her go 3 days then pulling her out for a week is better then giving her more time to adjust and going a little later? We are thinking either 10-18 or 17-25. Keep me posted on the photo share. I would be interested in doing another share next year if it all works out. I realized after looking through all the photos that we missed a lot of cool pictures! Especially yours! How did you know about all those "special" ones! They are so fun. I really like the ones with your dd and the balloons. We did the photo shoot last year at the beach club and got some great family photos. This year I wanted to do it again, but my son is very anti-photo right now. He yells at when I try to take his picture. Your photo shoot came out great. I personally think its a great deal b/c you get all the photos on a CD to do what you want with. We made nice framed pictures as gifts last year that were a big hit. Where are you staying next year?

Right now we are at Pop but I think I might be changing that as Parker has now decided she really wants to go back to Movies.

The special ones? :) All you have to do is ask any photopass photographer as they do certain ones are certain parks. Last year, they did a neat one with an animated Capt. Hook they super imposed in the photo. It looked like your lil one was having a sword fight with him. The only one I forgot...which really upset me after standing for an hour was the fairy wings. While you are visiting the fairies in Pixie Hallow, you can ask the photopass photographer to take a special shot where your lil princess is standing near flowers and they put fairy wings on your child. BUT by the time we finally made it in to see they fairies, we were so awed by all the scenes, I completely forgot about it until we left. If the line would have been shorter we would would have went back through and had it taken.

I think my favorite of all the "specials" is where the three of us are together and DH is floating away with the balloons and we are holding him down to the ground. We had so much fun taking that one!

I had another photopass session planned but DH wasn't feeling well that day so we missed it. It was at the Poly-my favorite resort. I'm thinking of a weekend trip this December and trust me, if I do that is the first thing we are going!

Is anyone having any luck with the black and white feature? I simply can't get it to work.

OK, who is the two pooh-sized ladies?

The one with the braids....you look familiar....I just don't remember where I met/saw you before and it is driving me CRAZY!

Not us! My hair is too short for braids, and cuz will only do a pony tail (I have no idea how she could cope in that heat with it down! I've been steadily getting mine cut shorter and shorter!)

Still working on editing-- having some vision issues, so not able to do a lot each night.

I had a great trip, definitely loved POR, but was very disappointed with YC (will be sending a letter to the GM- in 4 days at YC I had dirty sinks & balcony furniture, cracked toilet handle [ouch!], doors that wouldn't lock, even outlets and AC not working -- I'll post the outcome in the YC thread).

Next trip, likely late Sep or early Oct 2011, I'd like to try AK savannah view.

It's the very first picture on the photopass site. I just looked at it again...close up and it's not braids...its just the way the photo looks.

The castaway club shirt on?? Is that your cousin?

nope, still not us....
Those other 2 ladies are much more photogenic than I am! I swear that I really do have both eyes shaped the same, but you'd never know it from photos of me!
We're the first ones in the AK set of pics tho! And currently I'm also the last in the AK set (posing w/ Chip& Dale, Mickey, then Donald)!

I thought AK's Camp MinniMickey was great for posing w/ character pictures -- there were virtually no lines (2-10 people ahead of me each one).
